Tick Tick Boom...
Prologue ; the party... ... Contents -> Next Scene
Stressed is not a word that you would like to describe yourself with but damn does it apply currently.
Usually, you would be absolutely ecstatic to go to one of your circles parties, but the pressure of your upcoming literature exam has been extremely heavy on you. Paired with the fact that your dad was planning to come visit the city for a few days plus then the whole other problem you’ve been trying to ignore surrounding one of your childhood friends. Yeah the stress has been bad.
Bad enough that all of your roommates could tell how much it was hitting you.
After seeing the notification about the party Kuroo is hosting, his first thought was that maybe the party could destress you a bit? After a small discussion in the dorm's kitchen, your roommates agreed to the best choice of action, Tsukishima hesitantly, to go to the party. This would be a good way to relieve stress! And drink alcohol! Win-win!
So here you are, wrist in Noya’s hand as he drags your group along the corridors to Kuroo’s and Bokuto’s room.
The moment that Kuroo opens the door for your little group, you make your way to the couch spotting Kenma. A small smile appears on your face, you’re faced with one of the reasons why you’re so stressed. Though, maybe the party really would make you feel better.
….
Of course though nothing will ever go right. Blame it on Suguru to tattle tale to a teacher! Fucking fun ruiner! “God” you think, you should get another drink. You’re on your- actually you’ve lost count- shot of soju and you’re leaning against Kenma as he plays with your sleeve.
As much as you’d like to focus on whatever is happening around you, the feelings of his fingers weaving through your hair feels so good you would sleep. Until you feel a finger poking your cheek and someone's hot breath against your ear.
“Don’t sleep yet, wait until Akaashi is done talking to Ukai”
And your only response to his words is a sigh as the chaos around you unfolds.
Notes !!
-> Ahh first smau post I hope it looks okay!! -> Kenma didn't actually dm Hinata Noya just trusted kuroo would make him go -> Unfortunately, Ukai was the teacher that Daishou grabbed and him, being too tired to think, decided the best thing to do was to defeat two birds with one stone. Punish these partying kids and deal with the dying theater program. -> get ready for a fun ride guys -> this series was actually supposed to be completely different but i kept changing my mind so there's two more smaus i have planned :3 taglist ;; @fiannee @lcvemiyuki

🌷So I did a thing..@lara-cairncross, but I managed to make an oc!! Meet Emilia, a garden fairy of the Hidden Hollow. She’s a very sweet and kind fairy, her love for her gardening talent is so infectious and caring. Her aura is so calming and uplifting, it’s like being embraced by the very essence of an entire flower field!
🌷Anyway, here’s some facts about my little delicate flower!:
-She’s LOVES eating anything with strawberries in it! And of course anything sweet will cheer her up! But she doesn’t really eat much of it, so she mostly eats small chopped fruits.
-She’s a sea turtle! (I was originally going to make her a water fairy, but then i realized it didn’t really make up my mind, so after days of thinking and rewatching tinker bell movies, a thought popped up in my head) Emilia is the ONLY garden fairy that can control aquatic flowers and collect seaweed without getting her wings wet! While other garden fairies can sometimes get their wings dampened by doing the work; so she’s the only fairy to volunteer to do it, and yes, she can swim.
-Whenever it was time for the seasons to change, Emilia has a habit of wandering off to see the humans. Mostly because she really wanted to know more about them cause of the stories the other fairies talked about. But at early morning, she peeked through April’s window cell and saw four other fairies that looked just like her, till this day she wondered who they were.
-Back home in the forest, she has the most BIGGEST garden! Filled with various of flowers and succulents that have been on the books, while some were very rare and never heard of before. And also a border to the winter side to see her best friend! Lumi, Yuichi’s younger sister.
-When Emilia’s friends come to hug her, they can always smells like a dessert! Strawberry shortcake with a hint of vanilla syrup and a dollop of a Sakura blossom on top. Even when she gives something to them as a gift or for something, she has the most SOFTEST hands ever! That’s why she’s mostly seen holding hands with her friends when flying or walking around in the field.
-She has a VERY contagious laugh.
(I have more facts in my brain! But it’ll come to me)
🌷Little Emmy is really good at sewing! But sometimes she can stitch things at the wrong end or mess it up, she’s still learning! She goes on picnics by herself so that she can study all plants around her and in case she got hungry she packed desserts or whatever she made with her bare hands (I’m sorry if my handwriting looks so different in the picture, it’s because i took breaks and i totally forgot which brush i used before 😭)
🌷The first time Emilia went outside the forest was when she was very very young, nobody really knew her so whenever she walked around the Hidden Hollow she’d either end up bumping into someone or falling to the ground because she was still getting used to her legs rather than flying around. The garden fairies soon recognized her once she reached a flower field, surprisingly they were nice to her. They asked for her name, but she didn’t learn how to speak so instead she pointed out towards a pretty pink tulip, so the garden fairies started calling her tulip! (The little flower knew her name, but she just didn’t know how to speak yet)
and…that’s all! I’m still sketching out the rest about Emilia/Emmy so if you’re interested in her, feel free to ask questions! Bye for now! 😘

SHADOWS OF SORCERY | Part 22 | “Shadow of Darkness” | 1,285 words
Note: The final part!
Maybe Elora’s fears had been unfounded.
The Power Authority did not press very much about what happened. The investigation was quickly wrapped up, given that James Hemlock had confessed to everything and given that his abundance of magic cores further proved his guilt. A report was written up and Elora’s parents were to be released first thing in the morning.
They were brought to the school and as soon as their figures appeared through the path in the forest, Elora ran to them and her firelights tagged along right behind her. Beaming bright in the sunrise’s fiery glow.
“Oh my—.” her mother got out just before Elora and her firelights bounded straight into them.
“I knew you didn’t poison me!” Elora sobbed into her mother’s shoulder as they embraced her right back. She sank right into their warmth. It was like she was feeling all her “missing” at once—she felt all those days without them crashing together at the bottom of her throat. It was so pent up in her chest that she refused to let go for several more minutes.
It took a lot of coaxing to get her to let go and believe they would not leave her.
Imogene waited in the distance to catch up with them at the appropriate time. As soon as Elora had cried it all out and explained a few pieces of the story (she couldn’t tell them everything right now anyway), they all went to sit down around the school patio furniture outside the school’s residential building.
Imogene conjured plates of food and they all ate and talked.
It was the most wonderful morning that Elora had had in a long time. But after a long while, as they approached the afternoon, her parents insisted that she not miss her studies. They told her that they would not be going anywhere. They would come back to visit in the evening after they took a look around the house and made arrangements to settle back into society.
Elora reluctantly let them go.
She found it hard to study though. She flicked her pen around between her thumb and index finger, stopping to reread the passages where she kept getting distracted. She was too happy about her parents’ return to think about anything else.
Until a knock came at the door.
She went to open it and she found Charlotte standing there with a smile and a small red gift box in her hand.
“I know you don’t really need it anymore—,” Charlotte said, “—but my father was able to get one and he said it was yours if you still wanted it.”
She opened the box and a plant core glowed at the center. Vibrant like a marble with strokes of green leaves and petals of deep purple. Just like the Luminess core pictured in Imogene’s plant study books.
It was floating in a smaller box of purple light.
“He put it in a magic seal so you don’t actually have to claim it. I know—well, you know…”
She was alluding to the poison core, suggesting that she wouldn’t be offended if Elora was skeptical. Elora held her breath and picked it up. If it was really a Luminess core… then she could feel its ambient magic.
Her fingers cooled at its touch and the tension in her shoulders from (trying) to study faded with its magic. It was like a breath of fresh air. It was the real deal—a real Luminess core. Elora smiled and thanked Charlotte with a big hug.
After they let go, Charlotte’s voice cracked as she went to speak again.
“There’s something else I wanted to tell you, Elora. I just—.” Charlotte moved to step inside her room and close the door. She cleared her throat to say it without sounding like she was going to cry. “I know… I know you’ve been hiding something. My father thinks he knows what it is, based on a report about some kid who was playing at one of the regional playgrounds… and I just want you to know that it’s okay. He won’t say anything.”
Elora stared, having stopped breathing until Charlotte finished talking.
“I know that’s why you got close to me… It’s okay. You don’t have to be friends with me anymore. I won’t tell anyone. I know I’m very quiet and I’m not very fun to hang around with. I don’t want to be a burden or impos—.”
“Charlotte!” Elora pulled her back in for another hug, squeezing even harder. “Don’t say that! You’re not a burden. You’re my friend!”
“Really?” Charlotte’s voice broke as the tears streamed down her face.
“Yes,” Elora pulled away to go seek out her tissue box and hold it out to her, “you’re my friend… and you can call me Flora.”
Charlotte’s lips quivered as she dabbed a tissue around her eyes. She sniffled a little bit before she went on.
“That’s pretty.”
A soft smile grew on Flora’s face.
Once Charlotte regained her composure, she had even more news to tell. She told Flora that her father had saved something from all of the cores that had gotten confiscated yesterday. He had gifted one of the magic cores to the Regents Academy of Magic and the Dreamer Club would receive special privileges to access it first.
“What did he save?” Flora asked.
Mr. Gallison had saved the magic preservation ability. Convincing the Power Authority of its usefulness, thanks to Charlotte’s intense ramblings about their search for such an ability.
The very next day, they went to the magic holding room where it was being kept.
The magic core floated above a pedestal, suspended in gravity as its light captivated like a glass moon, the deep violet glowing as they approached it. They had invited Jaelin along too. He fought the smile forming on his face as he set his hands on the glass around the pedestal.
He stood there, recollecting everything he had learned from his grandfather about dreamer magic systems (from seals to magic networks and magic interfaces)—a gift he did not possess—and applying it to his developer magic. He formed a set of silver wristguards and they appeared over the glass; then he turned to Flora, explaining his design intention in extensive detail. Very. Extensive. Detail. Flora wasn’t sure when he was going to finally shut up.
Eventually, he passed the wristguards off to her and Flora held them to the glass. Her purple casting magic glowed at her fingertips as she held onto the wristguards. Instilling them with her own casting magic.
They didn't stick around the magic holding room for very long. They went straight to one of the magic practice rooms afterwards. It was time to test out their prototype.
“Whoa!” Imogene held her arms out in front of herself, inspecting the detail of the wristguards’ floral embossings and smiling wide as she swung her arm out. A bright purple field appeared over the wristguard—about the size of a frisbee.
With another motion, she whisked the energy disc across the room. Almost striking Kaden in the chest before he jumped back and it sliced halfway into the wall beside him instead.
“Hey!” Kaden narrowed his eyes. “I’m not training with you if you can’t control that thing yet!”
Imogene recoiled at her mistake.
“Sorry!”
Charlotte and Jaelin hid their laughter off to the side, having expected some troubleshooting. But Flora didn’t hide the smile that cracked on her face. She couldn’t help but smile at the couple of firelights that went over to pester Kaden after that—weaving in and out around him until he lightened up a bit.
Feeling her own thoughts drifting out of the shadows of darkness.
#scheduled#wip: SoS#writeblr#fantasy#writing#the final part!!!#loved writing these idiots#i had so much fun with the worldbuilding too#and I just HAD to bring that ability back into the ending hehehe#also spoiler but >>#Jaelin is technically the only one who doesn't know Flora has a mind control ability#like JAELIN WAS SO CLOSE TO FIGURING IT OUT TOO#him finding out would be hilarious#potential bonus scene or sequel maybe hmmm#but only if something comes to me#definitely switching back to my main wips for now though!

“Thanks for driving me home.” Nodding at Ran as he hung up your coat and bag, you fell onto the couch, letting out a long sigh as you loosened your tie.
“Of course, princess, anything for you.” Carefully cupping your face in his hands, Ran plants a swift kiss to your forehead, smiling.
“Gross.” Frowning, you wiped your forehead, but didn’t pull away.
“I’m hurt.” Dramatically clutching his chest, Ran plopped next to you, letting out theatrical sobs.
“Oh, fuck off.” You rolled your eyes, elbowing him hard in the gut.
He rubbed the spot, pouting.
“That actually hurt, ya know?”
“I don’t, actually.”
“That’s because I’d never elbow you!”
You had to stop yourself from rolling your eyes again, instead opting to lie down, curling into yourself.
“You’ll hurt your back if you sleep like that.” Ran chuckled, but stood up to cover you with the blanket you kept at the end of the couch nonetheless, leaning down to softly kiss your temple.
“How will you get back?” You ask, your eyes shut as you try to regulate your breathing, “You drove my car here.”
Ran shrugged, sitting back down next to you.
“I’ll maybe call a cab, maybe hang around for a bit and ask Kaku to pick me up when he’s done with his work. Maybe I’ll crash with you. I’ll decide.”
“Be my guest to stay as long as you wish.” You hummed, cracking your eye open to see him grab one of the books from your coffee table, carefully setting the bookmark aside to continue where he left off the last time he was over.
You at first tried to tell yourself you didn’t care about your coworkers, that they were just a necessary nuisance pestering you, after all, you’ve always been kinda of a loner, always felt more comfortable alone and in your own silence.
Yet you still sometimes found yourself accommodating your home for them.
You still kept the guest rooms neat and tidy in case they choose to crash here, the books on your coffee table methodically placed there for Ran, a couple of cooking magazines you regularly switched on your kitchen counter strew around for Kakucho, a pantry filled with Mikey’s favourite snacks, a shogi board kept behind your TV for Sanzu and Kokonoi to play if they ever wished, CDs and vinyls methodically stacked in the corner of your living room by a comfortable armchair for Rindou.
You were accommodating your life to them, and you were sometimes confused as to why, but still kept doing it.
They were good friends.

“You need to take this a little more seriously, Y/n.”
You furrowed your eyebrows, looking up from your book at your father, who stood with his hands on his hips in front of you. “Excuse me?”
“You heard me. Your suitors have been here for three days now and I haven’t seen you with a single one of them. I’m giving you a choice on who you will marry, most princesses don’t get that luxury.”
“I didn’t ask to be married off to a stranger in the first place.” You huffed. “I also was with Prince Zhongli at the market, and I went stargazing with Prince Childe, so I havent’ been sitting there doing nothing. I’m at least trying to play along in your weird little game to sell me off.”
You father rolled his eyes. “You were taught since you were little that you’d need to marry someone to rule this kingdom. You knew this was coming. Now get up and do what you’re supposed to. Choose a suitor before I choose one for you.”
You watched as your father left, glaring at him from above your book. Who was he to suddenly barge in and tell you what to do? He acted like he was the king or something...
SIghing, you began reading again. You’d go find another boy after you finished. This book focused mainly on the various types of plants and herbs found in your kingdom, as well as their uses. It was one of the only informational books in the castle’s library that you hadn’t read yet, since you plans had been interrupted by a certain arranged marriage situation that’s been going on. You were about halfway through the section of a burn-treating herb when a flash of hair caught your eye. It happened so quickly that you nearly missed it, waving it off as a staff of the castle. But, none of the staff had platinum blonde hair...
“Hello? Do you need something?” You closed your book and stood up wearily, making your way to where you saw it.
“Um, no thank you, just searching for something...” A polite voice answered.
“Well, could I help you find it? I know this library like the back of my hand.”
At that, a head full of blonde popped out from around the corner of one of the bookshelves. HIs turquoise eyes glimmered at your offer. “Really? Thank you- I’ve been trying to create this little concoction for cold resistance and it’s missing something, I just don’t know what. The ingredients I use in my kingdom seem to be... lacking in yours.”
The moment the prince mentioned cold resistance, an idea popped into your head. “I was just reading a book that mentioned herbs that may help with that! Come with me prince... A-Alfred?”
“Albedo.”
“Come with me, Prince Albedo, I’ll show it to you!”
☆ ☆ ☆
You relaxed on the wooden stool in the kitchen, sitting beside Albedo. He was standing over a cutting board, pressing the flat side of a knife into the stems, leaves, and flower of a plant. You had helped him find this plant using the book you were reading, accompanying him into the forest on the outskirts of the kingdom to pick a few of them. It took hours- every time something new caught Albedo’s eye, he had to venture over to it and make a note to come back later and study it. In those hours, you began getting hungry. You’d skipped breakfast again this morning and your lack of food was making you feel a little weak. Nonetheless, you pushed on, interested in the work that Albedo was doing.
“Princess,” Albedo called, not looking up at you, “Can you please light the fire and get some water boiling? It’s the last little step to mix this all together.”
You nodded and grabbed a match, crouching down at the cooking pot across the room. Soon enough, the fire was lit and the water in the pot was starting to heat up. You stoked the fire a few more times before deciding to stand back up. Suddenly, your vision blacked out and your knees collapsed, forcing you back down onto the ground. You put your hands down in front to catch your fall, only registering that your right one swiped across the flames near you after it had happened. You hissed, in pain from the burn and from your dizziness.
Hearing the ruckus, Albedo turned around to see you crumbled on the floor, clutching your hand. “Princess!”
You smiled at him, holding back tears, trying not to worry the prince. “All good! Just, uh, lost my balance for a moment.”
“Bull.” He grabbed your wrist and helped you up, carefully avoiding the angry red burn on your hand as he pulled you towards the sink.
Placing your hand under the running water, Albedo told you to stay and began opening random drawers and cabinets, hoping to find bandages or herbs to help. You sniffled, holding your hand under the water and dreading the moment you had to take it out, knowing that the moment you did the burn would begin to ache once more. Albedo finally found a burn-healing salve in a container near the bottom shelves and quickly grabbed it, rushing over to you and opening the jar. He held his hand out.
“This will hurt when I’m putting it on, but it’ll feel so much better afterwards.” The prince searched your eyes, his own cloudy with worry as he waited for your “okay”. When you nodded, he began putting on the salve.
The next few minutes were silent as Albedo worked. He was focused on your hand occasionally mumbling something about how you should be more careful and whatnot, but you weren’t quite paying attention. You were practically captivated by the prince in close proximity, admiring him with little shame. Albedo’s features were borderline angelic. His hair rivaled the clouds that the gods resided amongst, and his eyes- oh my gods, his eyes- they took your breath away. Especially when he looked up into your own, his hands holding your injured one gently.
Neither of you looked away.
Albedo reached up and caressed his thumb across your cheekbone, murmuring a small “Don’t cry”. You felt chills erupt in his finger’s wake. You smiled.
“You made it all better.”
“I’m glad. I’ve never seen you hurt before, but after that I know I’d do everything in my power to never see you like that again.”
Your heart caught in your throat, and for the first time this week, you decided to be a little more serious about this whole love thing.

* * *
the president and the troublemaker (part 12)
“The winner gets to go on a date with Lumine,” Venti said.
“Sounds like a deal,” Childe agreed.
“Hold on!” Lumine interjected sternly. “I haven’t agreed to any of this.”
Venti and Childe both turned towards her—Venti much more scared, embarrassed, Childe much more amused, inquisitive.
“I’m not going to be fought over like some stupid carnival prize,” Lumine seethed.
“Ah...sorry, LuLu…,” Venti said quietly.
Childe regarded Lumine for a second. “Okay,” he said, turning to Venti. “How about just a regular competition then? No prize.” His blue eyes glinted. “Except pride of course.”
Lumine rubbed at her growing headache. Why is he so dramatic? “You two do whatever you want. Just don’t make me a part of it,” she told them, sitting down on a nearby bench to spectate.
Venti also glanced at Lumine, before nodding to Childe. “Okay. Pride it is.”
“Highest score after...six arrows?” Childe suggested, examining one of the arrows.
Venti nocked an arrow on the bowstring. “How about only three?”
Childe scoffed. “Getting a little confident, are we?”
The bard drew back his arrow, and fired. The arrow sliced through the air, implanting into one of the gold rings on the target—the ring just outside the bullseye.
“I’m not confident without reason,” Venti said with an all-knowing laugh.
Childe looked at Venti’s score, a slight twitch of a smile on his lips. “Not bad. A challenge—I like it.”
“Childe,” Lumine said, brows furrowed, “since when did you do archery?”
“Since never,” he answered, nocking an arrow, then drawing it back. Even with no knowledge of archery, Lumine could tell his posture was all wrong, the tilt of the bow too slouched—compared to Venti’s refined stance.
“There’s always a good time to start,” Childe finished. He fired the arrow, the arrow landing in the black ring near the edge. Venti held back a snort, and Lumine’s eyes flickered to Childe’s face.
His eyes were slightly narrowed, focused on the arrow. She expected them to be void of light, as they were when he was deeply serious, however there was a sharp glint now—the promise of struggle.
She knew he loved competitions (why else would he be pursuing the same career as her?) but he hated anything that came too easily. He found solace in turmoil. He found solace in coming out on top after a dark, bloody battle.
“How about we call this a practice round?” Venti said with a cheeky grin.
A smile from Childe while his eyes remained unmoving. “Where’s the fun in that?” He turned to Venti. “Your turn.”
The bard blinked warily at him a few times, before prepping for his second shot. This time, the arrow landed further from the center, planted into the middle blue zone.
“Drats,” the blue-hair boy hissed.
Instantaneously, Childe fired his second arrow, finding it in the same blue zone. He tilted his head, shifting the bow around in his hands, inspecting it.
“Your turn,” Childe said again, still examining the bow in his hands.
Venti wordlessly raised his bow, one eye closed for precise aiming. He took longer lining up this final arrow.
Is he actually worried Childe’s going to beat him? Lumine wondered. There was no way, right? Venti had training while this was Childe’s first time handling the weapon.
Venti fired the arrow, completely still as they all watched it soar through the air.
It landed in the blue.
He let out a sheepish laugh. “Seems like I’m a bit rusty,” he said. After a moment, he shook his head, setting the bow down. “No worries, LuLu. Childe has no way of beating me,” he whispered to her.
She nodded; that’s what was expected, wasn’t it? Then why do I feel disappointed?
Childe stepped up to the line, bow and final arrow in hand, rolling his shoulder. Then, he threw the arrow at the target.
He threw the arrow at the target. No bow used. Just his hands. Like a javelin.
Venti and Lumine’s eyes widened as the arrow slammed into the gold circle—the same gold circle Venti had hit earlier.
Childe looked at the board briefly, an obvious look of pride on his face as he turned back towards the two.
“What do you think of that, Pres?” he asked.
Lumine huffed and rolled her eyes. “Very impressive,” she said sarcastically. “Only you would think of doing something like that.”
“I must say,” Venti said, “Though unorthodox, you picked it up quite quickly.” He smiled and held out his hand. “A good game, sir!”
Childe raised a brow, a tiny smile at his lips as well. “Good game,” he echoed, accepting the handshake.
Well, that went better than expected. Honestly, she had expected Childe to sock Venti in the face, and she was glad this was the outcome instead.
“How about another game?” Venti suggested.
“Watch out,” Childe said. “You might end up being the loser next round.”
“At least I wasn’t the loser this round,” Venti retorted with a stuck-out tongue.
Lumine sighed. And there they were, back to bickering. “I need to check the time. We’ve got to get back to the bus at some point,” she told them, standing up to head back to the lockers.
She stopped in her tracks.
Even from across the arcade, she could see a man pulling out her white messenger bag from her locker. And he already had Childe’s and Venti’s belongings under his arm.
Without a second thought, Lumine lunged, sprinting across the building.
“Wait, LuLu! Where are you going?!” Venti shouted behind her.
At the sound of Venti’s yelling, the thief’s head snapped up, and he immediately noticed Lumine running at him. His eyes widened, and he booked it out of the arcade with all their belongings, and disappeared from sight.
Lumine made it to the front of the building, stopping to look down the streets for a sign of the thief.
Behind her, she heard Childe and Venti catch up, panting.
“What’s wrong?” Childe asked.
“Thief,” she spat. “Took all our stuff.” Her eyes scanned the streets.
A flash of white in an alleyway. Her bag.
Without a word, she dashed towards the alley, Childe and Venti following her lead.
Turning into the alley, she saw the thief, still running. The thief had slowed down, just a bit, but seeing the three students barreling towards him, he picked up speed, turning a corner down another narrow alley.
He led them through a maze of narrow alleyways, crossing them through street after street.
Lumine’s lungs were on fire, as were her legs—every alarm in her body screaming to stop—but she needed to catch that thief. Her hearing was all tuned out, save for the pulsating rush of blood in her ears, and her eyes tunneled in on the thief. I have to catch him. I have to catch him. Ihavetocatch—
Someone grabbed her arm from behind, yanking her to a stop.
!!!
With the adrenaline coursing through her veins, she immediately used the momentum to swing around, leading with a powerful punch.
Childe easily deflected her punch with his forearm, and—before she could try to kick—he swept his own leg under hers, knocking her off her feet.
She felt like she was falling backwards in slow motion, watching panickedly as Childe let go of her arms. Her mind was bewildered at the notion that Childe would purposefully let her fall like this—he had always saved her so what was he doing?
But then he scooped his arms under her, catching her in a princess carry, one knee on the ground.
The air rushed from Lumine’s lungs, and she let out hoarsely, “Why did you do that?”
There was a slight frown tugging at his lips. “Lumi, you were about to run into an intersection.”
Lumine blinked, and the world filled in around her.
The thief had in fact led them to a bustling intersection, and only now did she hear the WHOOSH of speeding cars rush past them. She glanced around; if Childe hadn’t stopped her on the sidewalk where they were, she would’ve run straight into oncoming traffic.
“You didn’t have to do all this,” Lumine grumbled, climbing out of his hold.
“You didn’t have to punch me,” he replied, one hand still on the small of her back.
Venti jogged up to them from the alley, out of breath. “Wha-Why are we stopped?” he managed to get out.
“Unless you want to become roadkill, the chase ends here,” Childe said, pointing at the street.
Lumine bit the side of her cheek, eyes still searching the area for any sign of the thief. There was nothing.
“Uhm, quick question guys,” Venti said. “Where are we exactly?”
The three of them looked around.
The area was completely unrecognizable. In their desperate chase, the thief had led them far away from where they had started, with no way of knowing how to get back.
Lumine cursed. “Did any of you keep your phones or wallets on you?” The two guys shook their heads, and Lumine let out a frustrated groan. “How are we going to get back?”
“We could ask around for help?” Venti suggested.
“Not going to happen, unless you know how to speak Chinese,” Childe countered.
“It’s worth a shot,” Lumine said with a sigh. She started walking down the sidewalk, looking for any passing civilian or store.
They seemed to be in a more residential area, more run-down than modern. It definitely looks like a sketchy part of town...
After some time, they reached a small stretch of commercial buildings. However, the buildings were even more run-down than the previous houses, and dark figures were huddled around the vicinity.
A group of three men stood outside of a rusty pharmacy, eyeing the students as they approached. They all donned a sort of bandana masking their faces, and arm guards wrapped their wrists. A treacherous aura surrounded them.
Maybe we shouldn’t ask here…, Lumine thought. Before she could turn them all around, Venti stepped forward towards the men.
“Hello, gentlemen! Could you guys show us the way to the Stone Gate?” he said, completely oblivious of the situation.
The men looked at each other, and the tallest one with a sleeveless blue vest, stepped forward. “Are you kids lost?” he asked.
“Oh, Archons! You fellas speak English!” Venti cheered. “Yes, we got separated from our school field trip.”
Lumine glanced at the other two men, hearing a whisper of, “Look at their school uniforms. They must be rich.”
She looked over at Childe. He was also assessing the group, and she noticed him subtly stretching. He was preparing for something.
Childe looked at Lumine, and she nodded at him, already reading his expression. He nodded back at her, turning to the group.
The two men in the back were obviously beginning to size up the three of them, while the leader was still speaking with Venti, stalling.
Venti...always too trusting of people.
“So, you kids are on a school trip?” the leader asked. “Long way from home, right? You bring a lot of cash with you?”
Venti sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. “Oh, yeah, I guess. But funny thing is—”
The man pulled out a knife. “Okay, so here’s what you all are going to do. You’re going to give us anything of value on you, and we will send you on your way to the Stone Gate...unharmed.”
The two other men pulled out weapons as well, one with a sharp broken bottle, the other a hammer rusted with dried blood.
Venti took a step back, gulping audibly.
“Or,” Childe said, raising his fists. “How about you leave us be, and you escape...unharmed?”
The men laughed boisterously. “Look at this kid. Trying to be tough—how cute,” one of them mocked.
“LuLu, we have to run,” Venti whispered to her, eyes darting back the way they came.
That would have been the sensible option. The men had weapons, they were older, they were crueler.
But seeing these men reminded her of her painful past, the very past that fueled her through her entire life. Because these men, that thief, were exactly like her father. Putting others in pain while they got off without consequence.
Not today.
Lumine raised her fists also, standing alongside Childe. “Last warning,” she said lowly.
The men burst out in laughter again. “Wow, these kids are funny!”
“What are you guys doing?!” Venti hissed.
“Don’t hold back, girlie,” Childe murmured.
“Never,” she said. “Big one together.”
Childe nodded.
The two of them crouched. Then, they sprang forward.
Catching them off-guard, the two of them focused on the leader first. Lumine threw out a high kick, hitting the leader right in his knuckles, while Childe slammed his knee into the man’s gut.
The man dropped to his knees, his knife clattering to the floor, before his crew even registered what happened. They cried out in surprise, and Lumine kicked the knife far away. Childe applied a swift hit to the back of the leader’s head, registering him unconscious.
Childe and Lumine turned to the two other men.
“Well?” Lumine asked them.
“Are you two still up for the challenge?” Childe said.
The one with the bottle growled. “Damn kids need to be put in their place.” He charged at them, the one with a hammer following suit.
Glass bottle slashed at Lumine. She quickly jumped back, and he jabbed forward towards her. Too slow. She ducked, and he slammed into her shoulder. She then wrapped her arms around his waist, squatting to utilize her lower center of gravity, and easily lifted him with the strength of her legs. She threw him back over her shoulder, letting his head crash into the ground. He went limp in her arms, unconscious just like his boss, and she let his body fall to the floor.
She turned to Childe just in time to see him uppercutting Hammer. Hammer stumbled back, cradling his jaw. But he still lifted his weapon, ready to throw it right at Childe’s head. Lumine started to jump towards him, rushing to disarm the man.
Then something whistled by her ear, and collided with Hammer’s hand, and the weapon clattered to the floor. A sizable rock fell next to it.
Lumine turned to see Venti holding a similar rock, aiming, and ready to throw. Of course Venti hit with that much precision.
“There’s more where that came from!” he shouted.
In Hammer’s stunned state, Childe easily threw a powerful punch at his face, and the last member was knocked unconscious.
The three of them stood still for a second, all panting into the otherwise silent street.
After a while, Venti’s eyes flickered between Lumine and Childe.
“So…,” he breathed. “You two...want to explain what just happened?”
Lumine’s own breath hitched as the realization dawned on her.
Venti had just witnessed her fighting. Her secret side. Shitshitshit—
“You can do crazy things when your body is pumped full of adrenaline,” Childe said, massaging his hand.
She nodded, eyes sending a silent Thank You to Childe. “I needed to protect you, Venti,” she said. “My body just went on auto-pilot I guess.”
Venti dropped the rock in his hands, a frown now visible. “No...that looked...coordinated. Trained. Not just some random street moves.”
Lumine swallowed the lump in her throat. She glanced at Childe, who was only silently observing her now.
She knew what Childe was doing. He was watching to see what she was going to do. Was she going to lie to her dear childhood friend? Or was this childhood friend so precious that she couldn’t do that?
Venti devoted so much of himself to her—he loved her. He was always that shining beacon of optimism for her. He believed in her.
She couldn’t do it. She couldn’t lie to him.
Lumine stood up straight, looking Venti in the eyes.
“I’m a professional fighter.”

“I wanna be a Hero some day!” The young Hylian boy sits up in bed excitedly, punching the air. “I’ll fight evil!”
“Well, it says here that Hyrule hasn’t had a Hero in several generations,” Lumi says, looking at the book. Her voice is a soft whisper as she eases her younger brother back under the covers. She begins dimming the lamplight.
Link pouts, but allows himself to be tucked in. “Why not?”
“Because we live in a time of peace. There are no wars to be fought. No evil to vanquish. The last Hero did a good job in his time, and now we get to be happy because of him,” she explains.
“Tell me about the last Hero?” Link pleads.
Lumi smiles fondly. “No, I need you to go to bed now.”
Link takes his little plush mole and shakes it at her. “Pleeeease? I promise I’ll go straight to sleep, you can even put out the lamp.”
Lumi sighs. “Okay.” She puts the lamp out. It would be pitch dark if not for the soft bioluminescent glow of the plant growing from her head.
Link scrunches up excitedly, ready to hear a story he’d already heard a hundred times.
“Let me tell you about the Vanished Hero.”

hello, hi, may i ask 💓 for astro, val and onyx, 💝 for lumi, medi and iris and 🥰 for colette and titus?
YEAHHHHH THE NEW THREE
[ 💓 - What are some signs they’ve fallen for someone? How do they show their affection? ]
Astro: He is more giggly than usual. He's MUCH more flirty with them than he usually is. There's a fine line between charming and flirty, yet for this person, he's literally into the flirty zone. But also, he's constantly writing love songs, that's a key way to figure out if he has a crush or not. He shows his affection by constantly being around them and probably slightly pushing the affection.
Valkyrie: Oh dear, this girl. It is so hard to tell if she has fallen for someone because she buries that emotion into her work to the point where her crush will not think of her first if they hear that someone has a crush on them. She shows her affection by speaking a lot more around them with the occasional filler word. That's a way to figure out if she has a crush.
Onyx: If he's around Valkyrie and Iris, he's going to revert to him being shy again. The second his crush walks by, his face is in his hands, he doesn't want to see them. He does NOT show his affection and in fact, he's blunt whenever they talk to him. It doesn't mean his face is not burning as he fiddles with his hands.
[ 💝 - What gestures do they really appreciate? How do you get on their good side? ]
Lumi: She appreciates it when she accidentally takes a nap while working and someone puts something over her. She also appreciates new books, even if she already has them. It's not easy to get on her good side, but not hard either. You just have to have a good vibe and she'll determine if you're good, since she will study your body language.
Meditrina: She appreciates being bought food ingredients. She also loves being brought plants, tiny insignificant gifts like smooth rocks (she has a collection), and stuff like mood rings. It's easy to get on her good side, but also easy to get on her bad side. She likes everyone, until her instincts tell her something about someone, even if they have never spoken. She will harbor a hatred for that person. But if her instincts say you're okay, she automatically likes you. Her gut is never wrong, it's eerie.
Iris: Ah, the local Ignihyde tsundere. She appreciates being brought food when it's late at night and she's working, as well as new tools. She also appreciates it when people listen to her ramble about things she's currently learning or projects she's working on. It's hard to get on her good side because she's been betrayed so much by her ex-friends. To get on her good side, you have to prove that you're not going to be a traitor. This can take up to weeks for her to trust you, please be patient with her.
[ 🥰 - What pet names do their partner(s) use for them? How flustered do they get by them? ]
Colette: Titus uses the pet names "princess, honey, love of my life, my jewel" and genuinely, each time it makes her heart race. Princess, 8/10, she's flustered but not fully. Honey, 3/10, she's just smiling a lot. Love of my life, 100000000/10, she's hiding her face in her hands and her face is burning. My jewel, 7/10, loves the pet name a lot.
Titus: Colette uses the pet names "my love, light of my life, lovely, pretty boy", all of them vary in his flustered state. My love is a classic, however, it does not fail to make him pink in the face, 9/10. Light of my life? 8/10, his ears are pink and he's scratching the back of his neck sheepishly. Lovely, 10/10, he's just AJNLNGFXDFNKIF the entire time. Pretty boy, 100000000000000000/10, his whole face is tomato red and if he gets a hug or a kiss from her afterwards, he's going to combust.
#🔮.oc talks !#the logic in the ice: lumi#the cold flower in the flames: iris#the perfect healer: meditrina#the elegant princess: colette#the itinerant knight: titus#the debonair captain: valkyrie#the star gambling idol: astro#the altering cyborg: onyx#listen this was so much fun to do omg i loved it

Shit Stew
Lumine is sick, and when she’s sick she especially misses her brother. Luckily, she has Paimon and her boyfriend Venti to cheer her up with some... questionable food.
“Hnnnngg” Lumine rolls on to her back. She’s been burning up since this morning. Venti brings over a pail of cool water and a wet cloth over to her bed. As he puts the cloth on her forehead, Lumine groans out more in her sleep.
“Aether... no... don’t leave me alone.... come back...” Lumine’s breathing becomes heavy so Venti nudges her a little to wake her up.
“Lumi, wake up.” Lumine opens her eyes, she was sweaty and confused, “Hey Lumi, don’t worry, it’s just a nightmare, I’m here.” Venti holds Lumine’s hand as to reassure her.
“Venti? When did you get here? Am I sick? I feel like shit.” Lumine tries to sit up but is gently pushed back down.
“Paimon let me in. I hadn’t seen you today so I was worried. You have a fever love.” Venti brushes his fingers through Lumine’s hair. “Are you ok? You had a nightmare.”
“Yeah, I’m fine. I had a dream about my brother again. I miss him a lot. He would take care of me whenever I got sick.” Lumine brings Venti’s hand to her cheek, “Your hand is cool, it feels nice.”
Venti blushes, “You should go back to sleep. Do you want me to sing you a lullaby?”
Lumine smiles, “I’d like that.”
So Venti sings her a sweet song from Mondstadt’s past and slowly, Lumine fell asleep. Her body was exhausted but she didn’t seem to be having a nightmare. His song reached its end and Venti got up to leave the room to allow Lumine to rest.
“Is Lumine going to be ok?!” Paimon raced up to the bard as soon as she saw him exit the room “Poor Lumine looked awful!”
“Shhhhh, dear Lumine is asleep so I’d advise you to keep your voice down to a peep. She should be fine after some rest, but perhaps we can do something to ease her pain.”
“Hmmm.” Paimon thought about what they could do. “Oh! Paimon remembers Lumine mentioning a stew her brother would make whenever she was sick. Maybe we can make her that. I’m sure Paimon can find a recipe in one of Lumine’s cooking journals.”
“A splendid idea. She seemed to be missing her brother so I’m sure she would appreciate something that brings memories of her brother.” Venti nods “Alright then, let’s find that recipe.”
Paimon and Venti shuffle through Lumine’s bag of books. Eventually they find a book made from a material that can’t be found in Tevat. Using what Paimon knows of Lumine’s native language (which is surprisingly a lot), they decipher the title to be “Aether’s original recipes”.
“Hmmm, keep turning the pages, I’ll tell you when to stop.” Venti flips through the pages slowly until they reach the page they were looking for.
“It says “Sick Stew”. This should be it, though it has some strange ingredients.” Paimon reads it out loud, “Hot slimes, spicy chilies, meat, grounded dry grass, broth made of a cold plants and bugs from hot climates. Paimon thinks it sounds more like a potion than a stew.”
“You’re right but it’s worth a shot. How bad could it be?” Venti said with a smirk.
It was so much worse than either of them had anticipated.
The actual cooking process was fine, the instructions were clear enough. However when they tasted the stew, not even Paimon could stomach it.
“Paimon thinks it tastes like vomit, and it’s aftertaste is like if the sound of scraping your nails across a chalkboard had a taste.” Paimon groaned in between spits. “It’s so awful.”
“I concur.” Venti held the trash can close just in case he vomited, “We followed the directions to the tea, so what went wrong..”
“Venti... Paimon... What’s that smell” Lumine’s voice was heard from the kitchen. “I’m hungry, bring me some of whatever you’re making.” Venti and Paimon went wide eyed, the smell was awful and yet she still wanted some? How congested was she?
“Should we?” Paimon asked Venti who was staring at the pot.
“I guess, we can bring it to her and if she thinks it looks bad to eat we can just get rid of it.” Venti grabbed a bowl and spoon and placed it on a tray, he also grabbed some water and went into Lumine’s room.
“Venti?! What’s wrong?! Did I get you sick?” Lumine looked worriedly at Venti, who’s face was pale due to the smell and lingering aftertaste of the stew.
“I’m quite alright love, me and Paimon made a stew that your brother would make for you.” Lumine slowly sat up as Venti placed the tray onto her lap.
“You don’t have to eat it if you don’t want to, Paimon can get something from Good Hunter.” Paimon said as she floated to the other side of Lumine.
“No! It actually smells amazing! Thank you.” She takes a deep whiff of the smell and digs in. After a few bites Lumine starts to cry.
“Ah! Is it that bad? Please don’t cry! You really don’t have to eat it love.”
“No! I- I love it! It tastes just like how Aether would make it! It’s really good!” Lumine holds the bowl protectively as she eats it. Her skin seemed to regain some color as she digs in. Paimon and Venti stare in both wonder and horror as she enjoys her meal, wondering how she managed to enjoy the monstrosity.
When she finally finished her meal she yawned and put the tray on the bedside table. She kisses Venti on the cheek “I love you so much, thank you for this.”
“You’re welcome love. We’ll let you rest now.” Venti turns to leave the room.
“Wait!” Lumine grabs onto Venti’s wrist “Please stay. Come sleep with me please.”
Lumine looks at Venti with puppy dog eyes and he easily caves, “If that is what my lady wishes, I’ll stay. I’ll sing you another lullaby too.” He takes off his shoes, hat, and cape and crawls into the bed. He holds Lumine’s body against his and hums a tune. Paimon also crawls into bed with them, opting to curl herself up against Lumine’s stomach from on top of the covers. When the girls were asleep, Venti placed a chaste kiss on top of Lumine’s head.
“Sweet dreams my beloved traveler.”

Hello everyone. Today is Easter Sunday, so I thought I’d at least try to drop by the blog and make a post if time would allow it. Luckily I got some time, so here I am. My brother and his family are visiting us today, so we got a few extra eyes on the kids. And speaking of the kids, they are pretty much all over the place, but I did manage to get our beautiful Lumi to pose for one photo, together with her beloved pet rabbit, Raisin. It doesn’t feel as chaotic as you’d imagine with six children running around, and I’m grateful that my energy hasn’t completely vanished at this point. I’m currently 37+2 weeks pregnant after all. My brother and his husband are expecting their 4th child (I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned it somewhere on the blog before), and he’s expected to be born on April 9, so that’s very soon. Here’s hoping our baby will be born soon, too, but I still got a couple more weeks to go, so, yay.
We love it when family visits, and I’m sure the kids enjoy having their cousins over to play and spend time with them. Lumi and her cousin, Maddox, are very close. They are opposites though, personality wise, but they get along really well. Max and Juno share the same interests. They both love books and plants. And although little Willa is quite shy compared to our Clair, they are the bestest of friends.
Anyway, the early morning Easter egg hunt was a mess. Lumi ended up finding most of them, which resulted in two very upset toddlers. Good thing Lumi prefers to share, so it was all good in the end 💗
