i can’t lie: they did a crazy good job with the setting, animation and tone of the lulusia incident and imu + the gorosei. a very chilling sequence that delivered on the impact.

Hiii <3 Love you writings!! I'm a big fan of your Ace's povs! <3 Can I request a reader's reaction when Sabo returns to Kamabakka after de Lulusia incident? Idk, I'd think it would be a mix of angry, concern and relief? It's all because Sabo is very impulsive. Thanks! <3
Hiya papaya!! I absolutely can, thank-you for being patient with me!! I hope that this is to your liking!
[Heads up!: tiny touch of angst, hurt/comfort]
Tumblr media
Rash. Hot-headed. Reckless, impulsive ㅡ there are a thousand things you think of to call Sabo by the time you see him again.
He must know that you're aware of his actions (of course you are), because all he does is offer you a sheepish grin. "I'm sorry?"
Sorry, he says, as if that's going to soothe you, ease every second you've spent fretting over him and preparing for the worst. That he'd used up his luck, no eleventh-hour plan to keep him out of trouble.
(Then again, with the things he's told you of his childhood with his brothers, this is nothing new.)
"Sorry?" You repeat, watch him flinch at the edge to your tone as you approach him. "You're sorry?"
Your eyes flash, narrowing as you fist his jacket and drag him closer. "You could have died, Sabo. You've got to start using that brain of yours more." Your expression softens. "I don't want to lose you."
Sabo blinks before he relaxes, having anticipated more rage than this ㅡ but his own chest aches at how small you suddenly seem as your shoulders relax.
He pulls you into him, role reversed as he lets you cling to him, his chin settled atop your head.
"I'm sorry," he says, and he means it. He loves you, knows that you love him too ㅡ but he'd gladly face danger head on if it meant you didn't have to. "But I'm still alive, right?"
"Wanna keep it that way," you huff, pinching at his side and making him mock-yelp. "Just...promise me you'll at least try to be more careful."
Sabo hums, head tilting thoughtfully as you peer at him, and he yelps when you pinch at his side again. "Okay, okay! I'll try to be more careful."
You eye him. "You promise?"
Sabo leans to press his forehead against yours, voice low and warm. "I promise."

i do love how they made the destruction of lulusia wayyy more fucked up in the anime vs the manga, bc wow it really drives home how absolutely horrific the celestial dragons/imu are, but also
poor sabo. the poor little meow meow. if he wasn't traumatized enough from what happened at the end of the reverie, he certainly is now. that boy went from one traumatizing incident to the next, with barely any breathing room.
someone me should write him breaking down

Chapter 7: The Grand Duke...?
You arrived without incident at Aquilegia, the town that was nearest the Duke’s estate, and under his protection, and were greeted by two different, but kind, individuals.
One was a young lady who couldn’t be much older than you. She was dressed in clean and crisp traveling clothes, that looked more functional than fashionable, but they fit her well. Short orange hair and deep blue eyes greeted you with a bright smile.
The other was an older gentleman who appeared to be a fishman. You knew of minks and fishmen, though you’d never seen either race directly until now. You were read up on other tribes as well, but the Nusjuro Empire wasn’t home to much variety. The coastal cities probably saw more diversity than Lulusia or Goa ever would.
He had mottled yellow skin, grey hair and mustache, and a frill along his jaw were a beard would usually grow. He was also in more practical traveling clothes, but there was more fashion in his than his younger companion’s.
“You must be Lady Lulusia.” The younger lady says, curtsying before stepping forward. “My name is Koala, I’m the head maid, and this is Hack. He’s the head butler.”
Hack bows. “We’re here to assist you with your things and see you to the estate.” He states evenly. Where there’s energy and a bright smile with Koala, he seems to be strictly business.
You can appreciate both approaches.
You look around a little, and notice it really is just the two of them. It could be that the smaller northern town has less crime than the capital, and armed knights wouldn’t be needed. It could also be a continuation of the trend of disrespect from the King and Crown Prince.
“Is this really everything?” Koala asks, looking at the three trunks you had with you.
Smiling warmly you nod. “I had spent several years as my cousin’s lady-in-waiting, and my Uncle and I had agreed I would only take what I needed on the long journey between Lulusia and Goa.”
“Long journey, but the tele-urk!” Koala grimaced as Hack stepped on her foot. His action had been smooth enough you’d almost missed it, but it seemed his younger counterpart was more animated than he was.
“I imagine the peace and quiet were enjoyable.” Hack offers, easily lifting two of the heavy trunks.
“It… was, indeed. A wonderful opportunity for introspection.” You agree, quickly composing yourself. You’d heard that fishmen were naturally stronger than humans, but the magnitude of that difference was impressive to see. Hack was carrying the trunks as though they weighed no more than a tray of snacks.
Magic aptitude was a little more rare among them, and almost unheard of among the giants, so far as you had read. You doubt that it was actually rare, so much as it was likely just underdeveloped. With other attributes geared toward their survival, it was just more likely that they hadn’t cultivated magic to the degree humans had.
Human magic was different from the force the beasts in the wilds wielded, even if the source of it all was the same. Even among humans, specialized magics varied so wildly from one person to the next, if they even reached the pinnacle to unlock it in the first place, that oftentimes it was hard to even see it as magic.
Magic was potential, and every living being had potential.
Koala took care of your third trunk, putting it up on its wheels and dragging it as you had expected Hack to do in the first place with the other two.
“There’s a carriage just outside, m’lady,” she begins. “It’s just a couple hours from here to the estate, but don’t worry. The carriage is one of the most comfortable ones the Duke owns. It’s even enchanted to stay warm.”
“That’s good to hear,” you admit as the three of you step outside the station. The sky was clear, and the sun was warm, but so far north it was far colder than it had been in the capital. Much colder than you were really dressed for. “Admittedly, I didn’t pack any winter clothes.”
“Worry not Lady Lulusia,” Hack takes a moment to load the trunks with a little help from Koala. “The estate is comfortable, and the Duke has already allocated funds for your use.”
“… I won’t be meeting him today then?” You do your best to intone the question as neutrally as possible, but you’re starting to feel truly slighted at this point. Koala provides you a hand to step into the carriage.
It is indeed very comfortable. The seats are thick and the backboard is just as plush. It’s markedly warmer inside the carriage, but not so much as to be stuffy. The Duke’s insignia marks a few places, and you’re surprised to see it doesn’t have any similarities with the Royal insignia mark for Goa.
“Our apologies Lady Lulusia,” Koala begins after she gets into the carriage with you. “The Grand Duke was sent on a northern expedition three days ago. He’d already reached the border and started the campaign when the King’s decree reached him.”
You nod in understanding. “To abandon a campaign at that point would be a waste of resources. Not to mention the damages the beasts could cause at the border if they were merely prodded and then left to be.”
Koala’s eyes go wide for a split second and then she smiles. “Exactly. Your understanding is appreciated my lady.”
“My father was a border knight,” you press your lips together. As much as you wanted to keep your sense of self close to your heart until you knew who to trust, this much wasn’t difficult to learn about you. “So I have a better understanding than some.”
“Until the Duke’s return I will be attending to your needs. We’ve been instructed to provide anything you require, and answer any questions to the best of our ability.” Koala leans forward a little, lowering her voice. “Be careful asking Hack about anything to do with the estate itself. You will not get him to stop talking.”
You smile, holding back a laugh, and think that it might be a good way to spend an afternoon if the butler has time to spare for it. It would probably make his entire week at the least, getting to go on about the history of a place he cares for so much.
“Is it old?” You question, realization settling in as you consider things. “I didn’t think there was a Grand Duke in Goa until recently.”
Koala’s smile never falters. “It is old! It used to be the capital of Goa. There was another country to the south where the capital is now, that covered most of the territories of Lulusia, Germa and Ilisia.”
“I think I’ve read about this.” You interject. “There was a war two centuries ago, and the Briss kingdom lost.”
“The lands of Briss were divided up among Goa, Lulusia, Ilisia and Germa. With access to more southern lands, Goa shifted its capital. Ilisia did as well, having been a more coastal kingdom prior.” She explains.
You nod. “It is the same story. Lulusia ended up giving most of its land to Ilisia and Goa, to build trade and strengthen an alliance between them. Lulusia needed assurances that their tributes were making the long journey to the Empire, and they needed food stuffs from Goa. It was less costly to give up what little lands they’d gained, than to start developing agriculture for the new territory.”
“Do you enjoy history, Lady Lulusia?” Koala questions.
You shake your head. “Not particularly, but I wanted to be sure I had a solid foundation when my Uncle made his decision.”
She nods, seeming to agree it was a good choice. As the carriage travels through the small town of Aquilegia, she tells you about it and its people. Koala explains some of the festivals and feasts that happen over the year, and speaks about the imports and exports. There’s not much farming this far north, but there are certain spices and wools that only grow here. The famous Fleece Breath sheep are more comfortable and efficient in northern climates than southern ones.
Because of that, the small town of Aquilegia is the richest town outside the capital, despite having nearly one-third of the population. Having such direct control on the wool trade from the sheep allows the Duke to keep the people fed and warm with little additional effort.
Due to the lucrative nature of the sheep and their wool, the second most common occupation in the area was some variety of knight or armed guard. It wasn’t just a matter of protecting the animals from theft, but also from harm. Delightful as their wool was, they were exceptionally stupid animals.
To the point that people would refer to someone as being “deep in the fleece” if they were too comfortable in their own ignorance.
“What do you enjoy, if I may ask?” Koala questions as you leave the center of the town behind.
You ponder things for a moment, trying to decide if you should admit to something scandalous, or lie. Either way could work for you in the end, and with the Duke likely stuck at the border for another week, there was no reason to hold back.
“My father taught me how to use a sword, and I do derive pleasure from the art.” You answer evenly, giving her a careful smile. “If it’s not too much to ask, perhaps I could make use of the Duke’s training grounds?”
Despite the near constant smile on her face, you were beginning to see the subtle differences that her expression could take. The delighted surprise is replaced by something a little more devious, and you’re certain that deviousness isn’t meant for you.
“Such could be arranged. I imagine today you’d prefer to get settled in and rest?”
You nod. “I assume it would take some time to have weather appropriate clothes brought in as well. Especially for something like swordplay.”
“Perhaps not too long, the Duke’s knights are quite varied, I’m sure we could find you clothes to borrow instead of making you wait, if you’re comfortable with that?” Koala offers.
“So long as no one is forced into sharing, I wouldn’t be uncomfortable with it.”
“Perfect! I’ve heard about the border knights in Lulusia before, the beasts along the mountains are just as fierce as the ones the Dawn Kingdom has to contend with.” She’s leaning forward, practically beaming and not even trying to control her excitement. “I’ve heard the sword style used by the knights there is efficient and deadly.”
“It is… beautiful.” You murmur quietly, eyes looking far beyond the confines of the carriage. Blinking away the memories you give Koala a careful smile. “I am more than happy to give a demonstration.”

One Piece Chapter 1089 - Initial Thoughts
Tumblr media
It has been months
We've had awesome side quests and painstaking breaks, but now we return to Egghead for the Egghead Island Arc. Though at this rate we may just need to rename this the 'Incidents Arc' considering it's one incident after the other.
Still, we miss our sillies, so let's not wait any longer
Spoilers for the Chapter, Support the Official Release
Nami is savage for the cover page, 'no thanks I already saw the stars' XD
I didn't even notice Sanji in the window the first time around
To recap though before we get to the chapter; Luffy and Lucci are fighting S-Bear, Bonney is going through Kuma's memory bubble, Shaka and Pythagoras are dead, Usopp and Lilith are stoned by S-Snake, Franky is partly stoned and chasing after S-Snake, Nami, Brook, Edison and Sanji are fighting S-Shark, Jinbe and Stussy are in the weapons area, Robin, Chopper and Atlas are exploring the organ regrowth area, S-Hawk is pursuing weaker targets but is being pursued by Zoro and Kaku, and Vegapunk is in the prison with the kidnapped CP agents next to Shaka's dead body and York. Sentomaru is rounding up Mark IIIs against the remaining CP forces in the main island, while most of the navy are outside with Kizaru and Jay Garcia Saturn. All goods? Let's gooooooo!
Starting at Foosha with the headlines involving Garp
Oda once again repeating our thoughts pointing out that MIA does not equal dead
Even iconic mayor Woop Slap isn't worried
But jail for iconic mayor Woop Slap for accidentally yelling at Makino's baby
Does Makino's baby have a distinct laugh? TCB reads it as kya ha ha but that's mainly women or Dellinger and I doubt either are the daddy. Then again did we ever confirm that Makino's baby was even a boy?
They apparently recognize Luffy from the papers though, I wonder if there's something instinctual *nonchalantly pushes ShanksxMakino agenda*
Also Makino calling Luffy 'Big Bro Luffy' to her child because dammit she raised those boys too!
Final mention because I have to soak in every moment of happy Makino I can because she is lovely and I will not take any slander towards her
Dadan is tearful though, I mean Morgans has painted Luffy as a kidnapper and now Garp's MIA, she has gone through the ringer
Hold up is that Fake Nami?
Earthquakes and Tsunamis across all four blues, these poor civilians
Laboon!
Iceburg, Tilestone and Pepe Lulu too? Oh god Water Seven don't need another Aqua Laguna
Hina and Momonosuke are noticing it too
Oh this is because of Lulusia
Wow...what a hole...kinda feels familiar doesn't it?
Vegapunk's tech is based off of Ancient Kingdom tech, so what if the Mother Frame is the same? What if Enies Lobby was the original Lulusia
Oh and the Sea Level has risen 1m, that's not great
Oda's tackling Global Warming
The World Government just fucked up the entire planet, drowned and displaced several millions people, and wiped out an entire nation just to test a fancy superweapon
Beaches gone, so no Okamas can chase Sanji across it, Top Gun cadets can't play volleyball, the Seychelles gone!
And god damn if you flood Foosha and any harm comes to Makino there will be fisticuffs
Also I fear very much that the World Government will blame the Fish-Men for the flooding
Plus if Wano ever opens its borders that water level is gonna rise even more
The fleet at Egghead notice it too
'More than enough firepower to put a buster call to shame'
1 in five ships are warships (20 out of 100), 30K marines, 9 Vice Admirals and Kizaru
Some of the vice admirals look familiar; Doll of course but I'm pretty sure on her left is Doberman, the bottom right could be Strawberry, wouldn't rule out one of them being a Giant either
The latter still chatting with Sentomaru, feasting on oodles of noodles, despite on different sides, as Sentomaru reprimands attacking the sea beasts and for wanting to kill Vegapunk
Kizaru still is very much an 'orders are orders' guy, in spite of the brief panel of him hanging out with the two
It's true though that everything in this incident is a net loss to the WG, but they also confirm with Sentomaru that CP0 failed
Saturn is still here keeping his presence under wraps
He at least approves of Morgans' headline, while getting the true facts
Oda's back at it with the silly doodle faces and the map levels
The Navy are pretty in the dark though; they still think all the Punks are alive, and that they are using the Seraphim
10 Members so far *sighs longingly at Carrot4Nakama agenda, before sifting to ViviReturns2Nakama agenda*
Even had to do a doodle of Hattori the Pigeon
Concerned with them highlighting that the Dome is at 100% gotta watch the numbers
Saturn is weird though; he hears that the Egghead researchers and citizens are accounted for and he goes 'sink them' but he hears that Bonney is on the island and goes 'ah, we have no use for her, but she's just a little girl so leave her be' like dude what?
Someone's calling Marejois from Egghead
One of the Navy members reminding Kizaru that he can listen in on the call with the Black snail on his wrist that's been there since his debut
York has made the call, and naturally is annoyed why the WG intended to kill her too
I mean the Gorosei do have that loophole: they want Vegapunk dead and York is a Vegapunk, though York does point out that if they had any interest in the Void Century they wouldn't have sold the others out
After citing the Seraphim as the reason for her survival, conversation turns to the massive fleet
Ju Peter however goes into the goods; they wanna know if York can replicate the Mother Frame
Does that mean that it's a one-time thing or are we doing scorched Earth?
York can, it's requested by 'someone' likely Im, their workplace is in Egghead
York introduces the terms of the new deal; no touching the lab, and the celestial dragon deal is still on, but also one more thing: save her from Luffy
Ah the crew are all here!
York has been conversing under threat of blade
Nami's packing heat and gets it, Luffy's packing meat and gets nothing XD
Usopp - looking cool with the anime shades flash - and Franky are quite unstoned as well, plus Vegapunk and Bonney's here, and Lucci seething at the back
Strange though, no Kaku, no Stussy, no Lilith, no Edison, no Atlas, no Seraphim, also no Caribou but we never know where he is...guess the spread's not big enough for them but most egregiously NO ROBIN!?
Oda, sir, we need to talk about your breaks, we just came back from 5 weeks of breaks spread between 2 chapters and now another break? Thought the eye surgery was supposed to alleviate this
Well we got our sillies back: for one whole panel XD
It was a really good chapter still, but it's more one that makes me concerned for the rest of the world; we've got two gaping holes in the ocean that have fucked up the natural world, islands have sank, earthquakes and tsunamis are happening all across the world. I wonder if Aqua Laguna was caused by the hole that made Enies Lobby if this is what happened to it. I think what makes me most sad about it is that it cannot be undone, at least not in a way that won't further fuck something else up, the only caveat is that the quakes probably will affect the Red Line's structural integrity.
This does still feel like the calm before the storm, but it also seems that the game of Among Us has resolved off-screen, so I hope next chapter(s) we track back to that first before continuing with this Siege on Egghead. An important note is that Kizaru's been listening in on the conversation, so he has more context to go by.
Also, forgot to mention on posting, this is the first time the Straw Hats have interaction with the Gorosei, they know their voices now, they know their intentions, that's a big deal.
But yeah, another break kinda sucks given that we just came back from one, plus it means more waiting -_- the only plus side is that this final saga will last longer - though who really believed Oda when he said 5 years back in like 2021-22?
1090 is next though, and Oda likes round numbers so expectations are high.

Headcanon: The Knights Moralis only care about whoever happens to be nearby during an incident. It's the same reason why Imu casually decides to test a new weapon of mass destruction on Lulusia in One Piece—"it's close."
It could explain their habit of victim-blaming as seen with Coco and Agott during the river incident, Qifrey in his backstory, and Dagda and later Coco and Tartah when Galga finds the glyph on his body.
It could explain why Easthies offered understanding and kindness to Luluci and punished her teacher for mistreating her but didn't bother to check on Ellien, who was her fellow apprentice, or the nobleman who started the whole mess by abusing the two girls.
As a general rule, none of the real perpetrators—the Brimmed Caps and the nobleman in Luluci's backstory—seem to concern them. They simply don't bother to look further.

Who of the Droplets
Tumblr media
Someone is sabotaging Vegapunk’s attempt to escape the World Government. And he went missing.
Tumblr media
In the recent chapter Pythagoras was seemingly attacked by the saboteur.
Tumblr media
Someone has been framing Vegapunk for a while. For the past 2 months Cipher Pol ships that visit Egghead go missing drawing suspicion to Vegapunk.
Tumblr media
Rob Lucci speculates that getting rid of Vegapunk is connected to the destruction of Lulusia.
Tumblr media
Vegapunk says it’s because he researched the Void Century just like Ohara. God Valley like Lulusia was also erased from history. God Valley was attacked by Rocks who was wiped from history as well for breaking too many of the world’s taboo. I think it’s a fair assumption that Lulusia had information about the Void Century.
Tumblr media
Punk Records is Vegapunk’s brain which he hopes one day everyone will be able to connect to. As of now only Vegapunk and his satellites can link to it.
Tumblr media
Shaka revealed that all of Ohara’s research was in his brain.
Tumblr media
I think his brain has hacked by someone with the ability to hear the Voice of All Things. Momonosuke has the ability to hear Luffy’s thoughts which suggest that it works on humans as well.
Tumblr media
I think the saboteur is Who’s-Who. I think his eye tattoo symbolizes he can hear the Voice of All Things. The three-eye tribe can naturally use this ability. I think his eye tattoo is the third eye.
Tumblr media
The Marys have the ability to see through the eyes of cyborg animals. They wear masks with an eye symbol similar to Who’s-Who tattoo. Which I think signifies a connection.
Tumblr media
Momonosuke demonstrated the same ability to see through Zunesha’s eyes. Which makes be believe Who’s-Who modeled the Marys powers after his own.
Tumblr media
Lulusia has made several appearances in the story, it was even a setting in Ace’s cover story. It was indicated by Oda that Lulusia king recently came into power and brought suffering to his people.
Tumblr media
Importantly it is close to a nearby marine base, G-2, which I believe is significant. There is something off about the marines there. They fail all the time to protect the citizens and even the royal family.
Tumblr media
The marine escort failed to prevent Princess Comane’s abduction. And the ships stationed on Lulusia failed to protect from a pirate attack. Lulusia was somehow able to successfully revolt in spite of being in close proximity to a marine, base the king returning with his strongest soldiers and presumably marine escort, it seems intentional. In Ace’s cover story an intel ship is set on fire, I think it was the Who’s-Who Pirates. I believe Who’s-Who took over G-2 and used it to plant false evidence that Lulusia was researching the Void Century, from information he stole from Punk Records.
Tumblr media
Who’s-Who claim of seeing Jibei as a shichibukai brought me to the Fisher Tiger flashback in an effort to spot him.
Tumblr media
But that reveal the Sun Pirates connection to the G-2 marines and an odd incident. The Sun Pirates fought Rear Admiral Kadar from G-2. Fisher Tiger said he would let them go.
Tumblr media
Later it was revealed that the ship had been sunk, what changed.
Tumblr media
An extended scene in the anime shows him ordering his men to take the ships goods and retreat.
Tumblr media
Arlong who went back for revenge was defeated by Kizaru and sent to G-2 for interrogation. It was shown that the conservation was being recorded which implies outside people were watching.
Tumblr media
I believe that Cipher Pol was working with the marines to capture Fisher Tiger. He did attack Mary Geoise and free the slaves all direct attacks on the tenryubito. After losing to the Sun Pirates i think they were killed by Who’s-Who for their weakness.
Tumblr media
I believe Who’s-Who is the the pirate Shanks was warning the Gorosei about. It reminded me of his warning to Whitebeard about Blackbeard who was a former subordinate so is Who’s-Who to them. There is a possibility that him Shanks encountered him again 2 years ago when Red Hair Pirates and Beasts Pirates clashed. Why is he warning the Gorosei now?
Tumblr media
The second to last time we saw Shanks he was at wedding on a certain ruined island. I’m guessing the island was wrecked by Who’s-Who. I think like Rocks he has the ambition to become King of the World.

One Piece Chapter 1082 - Initial Thoughts
Tumblr media
Well this one took a while to get up, likely due to Golden Week and Viz saying no chapter for 2 weeks, but we finally got a scanlation from TCB so let's delve into it!
We've ticked stuff off with Kid and Law, Garp is ongoing, what's next on the agenda?
Spoilers for the Chapter, Support the Official Release
Chopper I don't think Nami will be happy if you eat Zeus
T-Bone Nooooooo! I liked that dude
Tsuru and Sengoku lament his murder as well
I guess it didn't help T-Bone's cause that he was in a kingdom dying of starvation, still why you gotta kill the guy who literally would give you the clothes off his back?
The Cross Guild's bounty system has put some unease in the Marines about people backstabbing them, but at the same time Pirates do deal with that on the daily
Hina shows up now, seems the only prominent Marines we haven't seen recently are Fujitora and Smoker
Hina tells them that Garp went off to save Koby, and took Tsuru's granddaughter with him
The wording implies that Garp is not in SWORD himself, he just 'teamed up' with them, even though his students are in SWORD...hmmm
Over to Buggy, congratulating the guy who killed T-Bone
This guy? I want to hate it, but he probably did it out of desperation, and I know T-Bone wouldn't have fought back against a civilian...I dunno I'm still in disbelief, sad disbelief
Buggy has a system of gassing up the culprit, then assuring them that they'll have protection by joining the Cross Guild
Heh, Barley-sama
The Cross Guild have a new ship annnnd it's Buggytastic, much to Buggy's distain
Yeah you shouldn't leave any creative designs solely under your men Buggy you should've learned that from the posters
The 'Meeting Room' aka Mihawk and Crocodile's torture dungeon where they beat up Buggy's head (settle down fanfic writers!)
Crocodile is still on his plans of Utopia, Mihawk's surprisingly okay with that though, guess a single state where he can just be in peace would suit his desires too
Buggy though disagrees with the plan, stating they're doing things backwards
More context in flashback to come with Shanks and Buggy
Huh, it seems Buggy's rift with Shanks is more than just the treasure map incident, Buggy gave up on Laugh Tale because he expected Shanks to be the one to get there, but then when Roger was executed Shanks decided against going for the time being, which kinda stumped Buggy
It's an interesting new dimension that Buggy's disdain for Shanks is rooted more in disappointment, since he feels let down that Shanks didn't follow in Roger's footsteps
But since Shanks is now going after the One Piece, and Buggy is deemed his equal as a Yonko, he wants to go to Laugh Tale first
Crocodile and Mihawk of course disagree, wanting to be smarter than just picking fights with the other Yonko, but Buggy notes that it's about getting to the treasure
He then uses the crew to rally his point, reminding them all of the reason they set out to sea
Of course the minions love it, so Crocodile and Mihawk have no choice in the matter anymore
Back to the Revolutionaries and there's a ship from afar
Each of the Commanders' subordinates/vice captains are checking it out
Cow Man is Ushiano, subordinate of Morley
Metal arm girl is Ahiru, subordinate of Betty
Round Checkered dude is Gyamble, subordinate of Lindbergh
And the dude eating what looks to be a glass bottle is Jiron, subordinate of Karasu
Sabo's alive!
Gyamble you made the bet you cough it up!
Oh they're Binoculars he's eating
Sabo managed to save some Lulusia people, including the milk girl from the Ace cover story
Koala is rightfully angry and relieved at the same time
He...wasn't on Lulusia when it happened? But we saw him in the light...We haven't seen Catarina Devon for a while...though he did know the people's names
Sabo is having a private convo with Ivankov and Dragon though, noting that what he knows could endanger them
Okay Oda, are you REALLY gonna tell us what happened in the Reverie? Or are you gonna move to another situation and follow up with the Revolutionaries after Sabo's told them?
A lot going down in that chapter, as I suspected though still not done with the external plots, I must admit I do miss my merry band of pirates.
Still in disbelief about T-Bone though, might be one of the 5 fans he has but he was a good guy, one of the few good marines in that whole shindig and to be off-screened like that it just doesn't sit well with me. A big part of me hopes it's some kind of con, and maybe T-Bone faked his death so the people would have money, but that's me being Carrot4Nakama levels of hopeful.
Strangely enough Crocodile and Mihawk did lose points for me, they feel like quitters compared to Buggy's impassioned speech about pursuing the very top of your desires. I suppose Mihawk is less so since he's already the top of his field, but Crocodile feels like he just wants to be a king, even though we know from Miss Goldenweek's (coincidence?) cover story that Crocodile's dream is to be Pirate King. Buggy won some charisma points there, but you had T-Bone killed so minus points for that too! Strangely though I didn't lose points on Shanks, understanding more about why Buggy is mad was illuminating and adds more points there but part of me feels like Shanks knew something Buggy didn't, we never know what Roger said to him after returning from Laugh Tale, Roger also wanted his son to be the one who would shake the world, and Rayleigh even said 'we were too early', so I don't feel like Shanks is a quitter as much, he was waiting for the right moment.
I had no doubts that Sabo was alive, but I am curious about his comment of not being at Lulusia during the incident. He did save a bunch of people so I am more inclined to believe it's actually him, but there is that seed of doubt.
While there's 'no break next week' for Oda there might be one for Shonen Jump so we'll monitor that situation, but it feels like the most earth shattering twists of this arc are still lying in wait.
