it was the name i used for a self-insert in an rp with a dear friend of mine. my username is actually the specific name of the self-insert from the rp (albeit, the nickname version- the full name was Lulilial Nightbon, i don't remember the middle name anymore unfortunately. same goes for the other self-insert that actually spawned the lulu nickname, Lullaby Nightbon, as lullaby was my og username on some things. im okay with being referred to as lullaby, too, but i mostly save that for those who DO remember my og user, though i won't get mad if you do use it, it makes me really happy tbh, even if the context of the significance of that specific nickname isn't there) ive used it as my username for so long, and ive always preferred being called by it than my legal name. the rush of serotonin i get from being called lulu can be overshadowed at times or just very subtle, but it is there. im not going to state my chosen last name, but it is different from my legal name (and its not nightbon, though i don't mind being called that)

for colors (aside from shirt + shorts) on Lulu, this is the original ref (drawn by a friend who im not able to contact rn due to irl issues with my stuff)

this is post season 3 (the fic follows the original plotline fairly closely), after some spoilery things occur (ill put it at the bottom of the post). these four are thesquad™ in-universe, mainly because Lulu may or may not have. almost killed them. and almost died for them. multiple times. there's other reasons of course but if you don't want spoilers i shall not

Lulu was originally named Cháng Zhǐ (Zhouei), and she was just a human girl. sometime post-season 3, haven't decided the EXACT circumstances of this yet (whether they're training, battling, etc), but a spark of the samadhi fire escapes Mei and sets her on fire, burning her alive (for those noticing the pronoun difference- part of her struggle in the story is figuring out she's NOT cis, and also her closeted lesbianism, but that second one is a bit more obvious). the last thing she heard was sirens as no trace was left of her... supposedly. she reincarnated into a demon family (before you get on my ass about time continuity- nezha, in his original legend, was gestated for like 42 months a normal pregnancy is 9, came out as a ball of flesh, and then popped out of said ball at like... age 12. princess iron fan didn't want red son to grow past like 8 in his original mythology he's quite obviously older in lmk, im just trying to prove a point here, and wukong was literally born full-grown from a rock. fast aging isn't unbelievable for a demon), who named them Húlíjīng Xiānzhī. they found the group, and became a large antagonist for that portion of the story due to being mad with revenge, but they also have severe amnesia. however, their soul is still there, and wukong can see them crying out when using his golden eyes of truth on Húlíjīng Xiānzhī. eventually, they do restore their memory and at some point after that is when that image would've taken place. they first met macaque (as mk had to relay the message that wukong said she couldn't watch them train when she was still Cháng Zhǐ), who gave her a place to stay when she was Cháng Zhǐ (she does start out homeless, and was an orphaned child), then wukong either a little before or when going to try to rescue Wukong from Spider Queen (who then smashed the side of her head into the ground while she was simping, severely injuring her. macaque shadowed her away to flower fruit mountain, where he knew they'd both be safe while he took care of her again), and lastly Nezha during the Lady Bone Demon incident (she willingly became a host for lbd, as she wanted to trade herself for macaque, and just ended up upsetting the latter while being used). i will HAPPILY spoil more if you ask, im really excited about this fic!!!!!!!!! ^^

no, actually, she just kinda maneuvers away from them and leaves them to purr in their own little pile and slips off to go find food/torture the gang zhouei: zhouei is the nickname, technically- her ex called her kitten, haven't really thought of nicknames the others would call her (maybe starlight for macaque? idk tho probably not) xianzhi: in-universe their nickname is lulilial/lulu but as you can probably tell if i used that in just general infodumps and whatnot that would get confusing REALLY fucking fast, ex also called them kitten, at some point they do end up going by presidia zheng delun: oh his sister has plenty of nicknames for him i just haven't decided what they are yet zhouei/xianzhi's ex: i dont even have a name for him lmfao mariana: most people just call her mary, to the point where it's a pleasant shock when someone calls her mariana that she'll almost cry (mariana is also technically more of a nickname, like zhouei is, but i haven't figured out an actual name for her- i need something elegant like guanyin, since she does have a fair bit in common with her) li tian shi: little plum, little spitfire, various other little names you would use for your baby (as you can tell, these are mostly used by wukong) kinkajou: uhhhhhh there's like one or two but i forgor hunting kinkajou: hunting, no mercy, starving, emaciated, hungry, use whichever adjective you like so long as kinkajou's still in the name ao yueliang: yue, ao guang actually does have a nickname for her but idk what it is yet the spider oc: same as zhouei/xianzhi's ex li mihou: not that i can think of but i will make one for her eventually apostasia: i also forgor his but he's. foreboding zhouei: friendly xianzhi: friendly zheng delun: friendly zhouei/xianzhi's ex: aloof mariana: friendly li tian shi: friendly kinkajou: uh. hunting kinkajou: UH. ao yueliang: friendly the spider oc: friendly li mihou: no matter what i answer it's going to be wrong apostasia: aloof yell at me if i forgot anyone
