Chemistry
Title: Chemistry
Requested? No.
Plot: You decide to try out as an actress and you move to LA, eventually landing a role opposite Nicholas Galitzine.
Words: 2243
---***---
You decide to give your dream a chance, to take the leap and head to LA, not knowing how many times you're gonna be rejected and have to start over, but confident enough in yourself that you can survive the rejections. Actors who get their first lead role after their first audition are rare, and you know that even sometimes the same actor will audition for the same role multiple times, just so the casting crew can solidify their choice, find their perfect casting to bring their characters to life. But you were ready, you felt ready and after finishing college and not being able to get a good job, you took the money you made at your odd jobs and other jobs you worked on and you were on the first plane to LA. You didn't have much, but it was a start, it would get you a hotel room for a few days, while you look for an apartment. The thought of one day actually getting the lead role in a movie or TV show filled you with immense joy, but even if you never do end up getting more than a minor role, or you end up having to go back home, you will still be happy that you tried, that you gave it all your could and didn't spend any more time simply sitting in your room, staring at posters of famous actors, wondering if you could make it.
Now you were gonna find out the answer to that question, and finally know if you had what it takes. You checked in to the hotel room, and freshened up, grabbing a newspaper from the foyer and immediately started looking for an apartment. You soon had a couple places circled, determined to check them out as soon as possible. Even if you don't end up as an actress, you could try and find another job there, after all, new places, new opportunities. A few days later, you'd already checked out a few of the places that you had circled. One was a lady that was kind at first, but hearing that you we're going to live in the apartment alone and you didn't have a husband, and weren't even in the works of finding one, she became rather rude to you, complaining about how there was so many women like you nowadays that didn't value the proper things and wanted your "independence".
Oh how you hated the face she made when she said that word in the most condescending tone you've ever heard. Another one was in a really bad neighbourhood, but you didn't even care about that, because all you'd be doing is heading to auditions and back, you wouldn't be bothering anyone, but the guy that was renting it had a sketchy vibe to him, even making a joke about always being able to come over in case you needed some "company", the implications really evident in the way he said that. And then another was a place almost rundown, filled with cockroachoes, and even rats, as one scurried across the floor as you entered the bedroom. Big nope on that one. So the next day, you decided to head to an audition. You didn't want to aim high and audition for the lead immediately, so you chose the script for a best friend character. You were super nervous about it, and that was probably the reason why they weren't so stoked to have you hired as the character. But you weren't going to give up. You went to another audition and another and another, eventually landing a role of an extra, with one line. Okay, that was a start, and you were excited about it.
Let's hope getting the apartment will also get sorted out. You were heading to more places you had circled, eventually coming to an agreement with a kind old lady for a studio apartment, close to the city center. You applied for a job at a nearby café, to be sure you'd be able to pay for the place if you don't get payed a lot for the role. At least you will have one credit under your name. You had landed another audition, only to be dropped a couple days later, due to as they say finding a better fit for the role. You were a bit sad about it, but trying not to let it deter you from pursuing further. Finally checking out of the hotel and moving to the small apartment, where the only separate room you had was the bathroom, you felt a bit more comfortable. You'd lived in studio apartments as a college student, so this was nothing new, and you didn't really expect to find anything large, nor did you need anything large. The most important thing to you was having a place to sleep, a place to eat and a place to shower. That was enough for you.
The day of shooting was approaching, and you were happy that you were gonna be there for even a day or two to say your line and to be a background extra for a few scenes too. Arriving at the specified location, you were directed where to go and when you got there, you realised who was shooting this movie. It was none other than your celebrity crush, Nicholas Galitzine. He was chatting with the director and the, what you assumed was, lead girl in the movie. He was chuckling at something that was said, and his smile made you stop in your tracks. You had his photo as your phone background and the background of your keyboard, specially photos of his smile, so seeing it in person was a whole new experience, and he was just as mesmerising as he was on camera. You had to quickly compose yourself and not stare at him for so long, and end up being perceived as a huge creep. So you stayed behind, as the background extra, and as the camera would no longer have you in frame, you would watch him act, smiling softly at his mannerisms and the way he looked, like he was born to be an actor.
Your big scene was approaching, where you were playing a bartender, that would be asking Nicholas' character what he wanted to drink and then making it and handing it to him, and you were genuinely nervous. Not just because you were going to be on screen, but because you are going to be on screen with him. You had a bit of experience as a mixologist, from working at a few bars, and so the crew didn't need to make the drink for you and just have you serve it, you knew exactly how to make it. Another thing you didn't even know was a dream of yours would come true. Not only were you a part of a scene with Nicholas, but also a part of a blooper, because he ended up spilling a bit of the drink on himself, making everyone on set laugh, including you, as you giggled at his adorable behaviour. He apologised to you for making you redo the scene, but you shook your head, not even remotely upset about it. After doing the scene again and the director yelling cut, Nicholas turned to you.
"You sure know how to make a drink. Where did you learn that?"
You smiled and told him about your background in mixology, the two of you sharing a couple of words, as you tried to calm your heart down, to make sure it doesn't burst out of your chest. He was not only near you, but talking to you, and you could see his lovely personality first hand. The director paused for a moment, seeing your exchange, the way your conversation flowed, and it got him thinking for a moment before approaching Nicholas to talk to him about another scene. It was true what they said, that Nicholas just naturally has chemistry with people. His co-star Anne Hathaway even said he could have chemistry with a lamp. And honestly you'd ve jealous of that lamp, but moving on, you were back to being a background extra for a few more scenes that day and a few tomorrow. The director couldn't seem to shake off a feeling he had seeing the interaction you had with Nicholas. He was trying to figure out if it was just Nicholas' natural chemistry and charm or if there was something else. He wanted to work with Nicholas again, but he was yet to find his female lead. Could you be that female lead?
As your part of the shooting wrapped up, you were approached and handed a few pages of a script and told that the director wanted you to try and audition for that role. You were extatic at the prospect of actually getting to go to that audition and you were so incredibly thankful to the director for even considering you and giving you a chance. You still had no idea you would be acting opposite to Nicholas if you got the part. You studied the script long and hard, trying your best to portray the emotions that were expected of you. You had panic attacks in college a lot, but you decided to try and not put so much pressure on yourself, and just do your best, and you if you succeed, you succeed, if not, you won't be mad at yourself, because you did your best. You arrived to the audition a few days later and you were told that if you got the part, filming wouldn't start until the end of the male leads previous project, but that they started looking for the female lead a but earlier. You did what was asked of you for the audition, and they told you they would give you a call. You were walking out of the audition room and saw a bunch of other girls who were auditioning for the same role, and you smiled at them, wishing them all luck, and you genuinely would be happy even if you didn't get the part and one of these other girls did.
About two weeks later, you were at work at the café as you got a call to come back and do another audition and that you'd be doing a chemistry testing also, since you were in the next round of auditioning. And so you arrived to the arranged address, did the audition, and they instructed you to stay outside the room as they wait for the male lead to arrive for the chemistry test. You were on your phone for a bit, as you heard a familiar British accent and lifted your head up to see none other than Nicholas Galitzine walking in. He smiled seeing you, and he actually recognised you from the set of his current project.
"So you're my new potential co-star? I'm happy for you getting the opportunity to do a lead."
He was so sweet, that it made you fall for him even more. He winked at you, which he definitely shouldn't have done to your poor heart and entered the room, where you were soon called in for the test. You were supposed to act out a scene together, the one you were given to rehearse. It was a breakup scene, and you had to get into that mindset, which was actually somewhat easy for you because you had this way of imagining scenarios as you read them and you imagined that scene multiple times in your head, so when it came time to do it opposite Nicholas, you already had the general idea of how it was supposed to go. And your crush on Nicholas definitely helped the feeling of not wanting to be apart from him, but having to.
"I know I can't ask you to wait for me-"
Nicholas started and you were supposed to come in next and cut him off.
"Then don't. Don't "ask me to wait". Just don't go."
Nicholas sighed, fully in character and approached you to lean his forehead against yours, making your heart skip a beat and your eyes admired his features as he spoke about how he had to do it, and then it was your turn to sigh, knowing that there was no way to get him to stay. The two of you went on with the scene, and you were so into the moment, that your tears flowed naturally, as he hugged your frame close to his chest, begging you not to cry, as he couldn't bear it. As the scene came to an end, the two of you untangle yourselves from each other and you wipe your tears, as Nicholas smiles at you. He genuinely thought you did a really good job and hoped that you'd be cast as his partner. And in the end you were. A week later you got the call to tell you that you got the part, all that was left was to rehearse and prepare as Nicholas wrapped up his previous project, and could work on this one. Being in the lead role and acting opposite of your celerity crush, it was your dream coming true. Nicholas is no longer going to be a crush you watch on screen, he was gonna become your friend, your co-star. Would he become more?

I am doing my best to try and get back into writing, I'm not sure this is any good, but I wanted to write about my favourite little british bean. This guys charm and wit and talent have truly captivated me, that I just had to put it into writing to stop thinking about him constantly. And I still continue to do so. It's a little something I did today on the bus to my college town. I'll try my best to get to my requests as soon as possible... Sorry for not being more active...

battle baths - jacaerys velaryon x reader
summary - jace runs off to fight the greens and you're left to clean up the wounds
word count - 3.7k
______________________________________________________________
"she doesn't understand! why won't she just trust me?" he shouted, running a hand through his hair as he sighed exasperatedly. you stayed laying in your bed, back propped against the headboard as you watched him with an apologetic smile.
"she's worried for you is all," you tried, earning another dramatic sigh from the prince.
"she needn't be. i am well-trained in both dragonriding and the sword, i would be perfectly fine on my own," he said.
"i know that, my love," you said. "but i think she fears your loss. if she were to lose you, after already losing luke... it'd ruin her. just as it would ruin me."
"and yet you still would allow me leave. you believe me capable to fight in this war, a fight for not just her throne, but mine as well," he said, looking to you with raised brows.
you hesitated, offering him a small shrug of your shoulders. "i have no doubts in your capabilities, jace. i cannot say that i would not be terrified if you left to fight, but i have enough faith in you that i could let you go. i understand the implications of your position and your desire to fight - it's the same as i."
"is she sending you with the dragonseed on the morrow?" he asked. "will you and baela be flying against the greens? she wouldn't divulge her intentions for you."
you sighed deeply, leaning further into the headboard. "i am tasked with the retrieval of my father. your mother believes that i have the best chance at staying his hand and calling him home since apparently he left immediately after an altercation they had. and well, he wouldn't listen to baela."
"when did she tell you this?"
"just after supper. just before i came to bed," you hummed with a thin smile. "i leave in two days' time. i was wondering if you would like to accompany me?"
"i doubt she would even allow that. she was in shambles when she discovered my leave to the twins," he answered with a shake of his head. he let out another huff of angry breath. "she even sends you away and yet keeps me trapped here. what does she expect me to do? how does she expect me to become an honorable king when i cannot even fight for my own claim?"
"jace," you said finally, his eyes drawing to you with a desperate sort of look in them. you smiled softly, tilting your head as you looked at him. "we will figure out something to do; you will fight in this war. but, it is doing you no good to dwell on it now, we will find something in the morning. for now, come to bed. you need rest, love."
he sighed for the upteenth time, nodding in resignation. he slipped out of his boots, his night clothes already adorning his body, and stalked to his side of the bed, blowing out the only remaining candle in the room that rested on his nighttable. after sliding down so your head rested on the pillow once more, you drew his blankets for him and held your arms out.
instead of falling into your arms as you expected, he wrapped you in his own, causing yours to wind around his torso. he pressed a kiss to the top of your head, lying on his back and causing you to lie halfway on top of him, legs intertwined beneath the thick blankets that winter required. his muscles soothed as your hand ran up and down his chest to his shoulders and neck and back down again, prompting him to relax.
"rest, my sweet," you mumbled, pressing a kiss to his collarbone. he breathed out through his nose, his eyelids fluttering closed as his hold on your waist tightened. he turned his head so it was next to yours, the pillow shifting as he nodded.
"you do too, okay?" he said softly, his fingers tracing circles on your nightdress-clad hip. "goodnight, my love."
"goodnight jacaerys."
--
the next morning you were awoken by the sun, a slight groan slipping from your lips as you rolled over in efforts to avoid the light. you pulled the blankets to your chin once more, scooting further down the bed to reach jacaerys.
except you soon found the edge of the bed - your husband wasn't there.
you sat up with furrowed brows, squinting your eyes to adjust to the light and see if he'd entered the bathroom, but he hadn't.
"jace?" you called out. "jace!"
in moments you were out of bed, a sinking feeling in your stomach. you quickly dressed in your riding clothes, tugging your boots on as you stumbled towards the door.
you raced to the dragonpit, ignoring the looks the maidservants were giving you as you passed them and waving off the guards as they called for you.
"vyraxes!" you called. "māzigon! adere! (come! quick!)"
you could hear your dragon moving through the mount, her loud screeches too similar to caraxes' bringing your heart to some semblance of ease. the red and gold dragon suddenly appeared in front of you, waiting patiently for you to mount the saddle. you were quickly to do so, offering her grateful pats before urging her forward.
"iksis vermax kesīr, ñuha riña? (is vermax here, my girl?)" you mumbled.
you flew through the caves and tunnels to where you knew the dragon normally rested, but you couldn't find him. you knew exactly where he was - and where he'd taken his idiot rider. you cursed under your breath as you returned to the landing. "i'm going to kill him."
--
during your time in harrenhal, you waited for word from him, or any word of how his and the dragonseeds' escapes were going. it seemed no one knew anything of their endeavors, though daemon was incredibly impressed with the young prince's defiant leave of station.
"he needs to be on the battlefield," he'd told you as you walked through the cursed halls, the sounds of his armies training echoing through the stone corridors. "he's the crown prince - knowledgable of both the sword and the dragon."
"father, i know," you answered. "that's not my problem. i agree he needs to be out, but i simply need to know if he's alright. and next time, i need him to tell me where he's going before he goes."
daemon laughed. "of course, young one. keep the reigns on your husband."
"not reigns, just communication," you answered with a roll of your eyes. you eyed the soldiers filling the courtyard as they trained, their movements sloppy and unpracticed as they fought one another. "no offense, but i do not wish for him to end up as you - running off out of the blue with no word to your wife of where, why, or when you'll be home."
he considered your words with a nod, hands clasped over his sword. "yes, i wish that for you as well. i reckon it worries you so."
"it does. and though i know exactly where he is, with those blasted dragonseed and baela, i would have preferred him to tell me. i trust in his abilities, but if something were to happen and he not come home? i haven't said goodbye," you said, tone solemn as you continued on with your father. your words rendered him silent as he mulled them over, coming to a realization himself.
"return to dragonstone. bring word to rhaenyra that i have an army for her and that we intend to march in a few days. i will attempt to return to her before then, and there we will speak," he said finally.
your eyes flashed to the man, a soft smile pulling at your lips. you paused in your steps, hand reaching out to rest on his forearm. "you do have a heart, kepa," you hummed with a light laugh. "i'll tell her. thank you."
he sighed deeply, giving you a reluctant smile before pulling you into a hug. "you're welcome. i expect to see you on the battlefield next to the prince here soon. i've trained you accordingly."
"i know. perhaps you can convince the queen to allow me upon your arrival. and maybe argue for jace's case as well - i imagine she is not pleased."
"no, i doubt she is," he sighed, stepping back but keeping you an arm's length. he smiled at you again, a fatherly smile that always eased your heart as a child and continued to do so now. "i will ensure you are entered into the fight. it would not be wise to keep vyraxes hidden away when she could be a fiercesome foe to vhagar."
"she's not that big yet," you said with furrowed brows.
"no, but if it is her and vermax against the beast you'll likely win. she's already injured from meleys' attack," he answered, nodding encouragingly. a small smirk pulled at one side of his mouth. "or you and i could have a go at the old hag. our win would be inevitable."
"i'll await your arrival then," you said with a small laugh. "farewell, father. i will see you soon."
"yes. be safe," he said, letting go of your shoulders and nodding to where your dragon was waiting on the outdoor cobblestone walkway that exited the castle, her scales gleaming in the sunlight.
"you as well," you wished him, offering him a curtsy and wave as you rushed towards your dragon. "māzigon va, riña (come on, girl)."
you mounted her quickly, ushering her into the sky with a clap of the reigns and a call of, "bē (up)!"
--
it was nearly a week before daemon arrived in dragonstone, the man rushing to his and rhaenyra's shared chambers and disappearing for hours before emerging again. you reckoned the queen was relieved at his appearance given the reaction she'd given you when you informed her of his intentions. you sat at a table in the dining hall, an old valyrian romance in your hands as you lounged. you missed the presence of joffrey and the two little boys at that moment, remembering the way they would beg you to read aloud or abandon the book altogether and join them in play. their absence, and their elder brothers', different may they be, were all reminders of the raging war surrounding your secluded island.
"she received word a few nights ago." you looked up quickly, brows raised as you lowered your book to look at your father fully. he stood in the doorway, one hand on the hilt of his sword as he watched you, nodding slowly. "they're to return as soon as they can. apparently things did not go to plan at riverrun and they need to recoup. i've convinced her to allow you to leave with them."
"and jace? is she going to send him out once more?" you asked, sitting up straighter. he offered a grim smile.
"yes. the prince will see battle again," he answered.
"good. thank you," you told him before suddenly furrowing your brow. "i'm sorry, did you say she heard of their return a few nights ago? and she did not inform me?"
he sighed deeply, glancing at the wall as if there was a script for him to read as an answer to your concerns. "jacaerys is... not in good condition. in the raven it was insisted upon that he was okay, but a second paper from baela implied his injury. she didn't want to worry you."
"didn't want to worry me? i could've gone out and helped, i could've retrieved him-"
"which is the exact opposite of what she needed you to do. your sudden appearance could have incited chaos and things were rough enough as it was. be patient, child, and he will return just fine," daemon said, brows raised as he cut you off.
"but-"
the doors were slammed open suddenly, two guards panting for breath entering as they looked to both you and the king consort. one of them swallowed hard, standing straighter.
"your graces, the dragonriders have returned."
you raced out of the room and down the hall, making your way back to the dragonpit in order to welcome them in. a rushing maester yelled your name as he passed, catching your attention.
"the prince is in your chambers. we are tending to his wounds now and i'm confident he would appreciate your company," the man told you. you offered him a grateful smile and turned on your heel, following him to your rooms.
when you entered, the first thing you noticed was how dirty, grimy, and bloody his skin and clothes were. there were small cuts adorning his hands, one scraping across the top corner of his forehead. his legs were covered in ash, his cloak charred at the ends as he laid on the bed, his face twisted in pain. you then noticed the gash across his abdomen that the maesters were picking at, carefully peeling his tunic and chest covering from the wound.
"jace," you breathed out, entering the room more fully and shutting the door behind you. the maesters barely spared you a glance before continuing with their work, finally removing the strips of cloth and beginning to clean the bloody, dirty, potentially infected cut with alcohol.
the prince grunted, eyes screwing up as he gripped the sheets tightly. you were at his side in a moment, opting for the opposite side of the maesters in order to stay out of their way. he instinctively reached out for you, taking your hand and gripping it tightly. he opened his eyes and offered you a lopsided, pained smile.
"hello, love," he said, his voice scratchy from too much use.
"what the hell happened to you?" you breathed out, brushing his hair from his face and looking over the cuts and bruises that were splattered on his skin. he shrugged lamely.
"war," he muttered. "we were ambushed in the night. i'm lucky i'm as good as i am with a sword or else i'd be dead."
"is baela okay?" you asked worriedly. you had fond memories of swordfighting with your father in the training yard, but baela had no part in any of them. her and rhaena spent most of their time with their mother, laena, and you reveled in your time with daemon. with this caused you worry - baela had no experience in the sword. had she made it out?
"she'd been keeping watch on moondancer," he answered shortly, wincing as the maesters began pressing a balm into his raw skin. "she's perfectly fine."
"thank the gods," you breathed out. you looked at him with a gentle look, worry evident in your gaze. "are you going to be alright?"
"i'm fine, love," he said, feigning a smile before the maesters touched a particularly sore spot and he squeezed your hand, eyes shutting quickly as he breathed out sharply. when he looked back at you, the dishonest smile returned. "just fine."
the maesters continued their work as you sat with him in silence, simply running your thumb over the back of his hand soothingly and letting him rest. once he was suitably wrapped, the men stood, looking to you and your husband.
"we will send for the maidservants to bathe you. do not worry for the safety of the wrappings, they can be wetted and they will dry quickly. you must get much rest tonight, your highness, and drink water. i will be back on the morrow to change the bandages," the maester who had led you here said, nodding to you both.
"no need to send for the servant girls," you told him, offering a thankful smile. "i can handle it. thank you for your services."
"of course. goodnight, your highnesses," he said, all three bowing before exiting your chambers.
you looked to your husband, smiling softly as he looked back at you.
"do you want to bathe now, or would you like a few moments?" you asked. he sighed deeply, shaking his head.
"no, let's get it done with," he said.
"alright, my love. wait here and i will ready the bath."
he kept his eyes train on your figure as you filled the tub with hot water that had been left at the door, sprinkling soothing salts into it and gathering the vanilla scented soaps that had been gifted him by a woman from dorne at his last name day. you stood straight again, looking to him with a confused smile.
"what?" you asked, tilting your head. "why do you stare?"
"i missed you these last days," he told you.
your smile softened, turning almost sad as you approached him, offering him your hands for him to rise. he did as you requested, swinging his legs slowly off the edge to begin standing, your proximity awfully close as he did so. "i missed you too, jace."
you led him carefully to the bath, having him hold the edge for stability as you assisted him in undressing. you tried not to stare at his body too much, but you were not blind to the smirk that pulled at his lips as you examined his toned chest and arms. you set the bloodied clothes to the side and held his arm as he stepped into the bath.
you pulled the stool to your vanity to the edge of the tub, sitting behind him with the soaps at your side. you poured some into your hand, dipping your fingers into the water at his side before lathering it in your hands. once sufficiently bubbly, you began rubbing it over his shoulders and arms. you took extra care around the small cuts by his neck and scrubbed at bit of dried blood and ash on his chest.
"you have to tell me before you leave," you told him as his head rolled back in contentment, your fingers beginning to work the knots out of his shoulders. "i knew where you'd gone, yes. but i was worried sick. i'd like to wish you off next time."
"mother said you will be with me next time," he answered, turning his head enough to glance at you. you continued to knead his tense muscles, watching as his stress visibly left his figure and eased his features. "i am glad to have you at my side, though i have to admit my worries for you as well. i apologize for not telling you - i thought you would be scared for me and that maybe if i left without your knowing i'd ease you of some of that burden. i realize now that it likely made it worse."
"it did," you answered, hand cupping as you dipped it into the water and rinsed off his shoulders. once that was finished, you began wetting his hair, turning his face forward again. "but, i understand that you thought it would help. it will be better when we go off together. we'll be able to protect one another."
"that would ease my worries," he hummed as you began massaging more soaps into his hair. "being able to watch over you."
"mine as well," you said. your fingers worked expertly through his curls, rubbing circular motions on his scalp and scraping it gently with your fingernails the way you knew he enjoyed.
"your a godsend, my sweet wife," he said, nearly moaning at the sensation of your head scratches. you giggled.
"you will surely sleep well tonight," you told him.
"yes, i will," he agreed, leaning back into your touch even more. you took extra time as you washed his hair, continuing the scalp massage for much longer than normal. his eyes were closed when you finally moved to rinse it out, his breathing becoming more shallow. you laughed quietly to yourself as you rinsed all the soap from his curls, before returning your fingers to his shoulders. you leaned around and pressed a kiss to his cheek, whispering in his ear, "wake up, love. let's get you to bed."
he groaned, squeezing his eyes shut before sitting up fully again. you offered him a hand as he stepped out, grabbing a towel off the dresser and beginning to wrap him in it. you helped him dry off and then to change into his sleep clothes, grabbing the silkiest tunic as to not bother his skin.
"i'll go without," he told you, shaking his head as you offered it to him. "just some trousers, please."
you smiled slightly as you followed his request, the boy slipping the trousers up his legs before following you to your large bed. you realized quickly that the sheets were stained with his blood and char.
"allow me," he said, beginning to strip the bed of its covers. he moved with surprising ease, the only change in his posture being an awkward bend at the waist.
"thank you, my prince," you said, grabbing the fresh linens from a closet by the bed. he tossed the soiled ones at the base of the bed and helped you pull the new ones across the mattress. after placing the final blanket, you began blowing out the candles, but before you could reach the last one, jace grabbed your arm.
"what is it?" you asked, looking up at him. he shrugged, smiling softly.
"i'd just like to kiss my wife in the light," he said, pulling you towards him and pressing his lips firmly to yours. instinctively, you tilted your head, allowing him to capture you in a breathless kiss that reemphasized his being gone for weeks. you really had missed him.
your hands raked through his wet curls, his finding a home on your waist as he kissed you again and again and again. finally, after you began giggling into his mouth, he removed himself from you with a cheeky grin. he pecked your lips again.
"alright. time for bed."
you blew out the last candle slipped under the covers, jacaerys immediately turning over to wrap you securely in his arms, your own being careful of the wound at his side.
"thank you, my love," he mumbled, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. "goodnight."
you sighed contentedly, leaning into his embrace and pressing a kiss to his collarbone.
"goodnight, love."

req: a reader who has dragon dreams sort of like helaena, and foresees what happens at storms end, so she begs lucerys not to go? or syraight up sneaks along with him?

★ amira speaks! : This was very entertaining to write my dear Nonnie, thank you very much for requesting it and I truly hope you enjoy it + it was what you expected !! 💕 — summary : [ — ✧ request ] — word count : 1.3k
— pairing : lucerys velaryon x prophetic!reader — genre : slight angst, but turns into fluff. mentions of reader seeing Luke’s death at Storm’s End.
“Mother will be sending me to Storm’s End in the morrow.”
It was daunting, to remember his words as you spoke earlier during the day.
It was daunting enough for you to know, that Lucerys would be going to Storm’s End by himself while his brother Jacaerys was to be sent to Winterfell. You understood the implicances of the imminent war and the need for alliances between Houses, especially if Rhaenyra had to claim her birthright — but at the same time, something inside of you felt wrong at the thought of Lucerys going to seek alliance to House Baratheon.
A gut feeling, perhaps. And when it came to guiding yourself by your own intuition, you were never wrong. Most of the time, Rhaenyra often seeked your thoughts and intuition in certain cases, and whenever you spoke about the rights or wrongs of anything, it never failed in certainty.
But what was worse, was when you foresaw situations through your own dreams. Your breath hitched sharply, and the sound of your silk sheets being continously ruffled as you shifted ubcomfortably from one side and another invaded your chambers. It wasn’t uncommon for you to have those type of foreseeing dreams, and you dreaded it. Especially when it came to life-depending situations.
By the moment you abruptly woke up from your sleep, panting heavily and with your body drenched in your own sweat, the rowdy noise of the violent storm you had seen in your dreams remained disturbing you. You mentally could still hear the wicked, mocking laughter of Aemond Targaryen while riding Vhagar, haunting Luke as he chased after him, calling out for the young Velaryon and the “debt” he owed him — his eye.
The noise of the loud thunders cracking violently leisurely faded away as you had foreseen Luke getting away from Storm’s End in your dreams, seemingly missing Aemond out of sight as the bright skies were clear. But, suddenly, what jolted you awake trying to steady your gaspy breathing, was the sight of Vhagar harshly eating Luke as a whole, and ripping of Arrax from parts of his own body — falling into the vast sea above them.
Remembering the horrid sight, knowing deep inside of you that that was exactly what would happen to him if he travelled to Storm’s End, a lump was formed on your throat. Your lips quivered, trying to calm yourself down and fight back the tears threatening to spill from your eyes at any moment. Luke didn’t deserve such horrendous fate. It took you a few minutes until your quivering body recomposed itself, but without doubting it, you had to go tell Lucerys. You knew he would believe you in the blink of an eye.
In a hurried manner, your hand rapidly tossed the ruffled silk sheet barely covering your body, immediatly getting out of bed. Your delicate lips were partly opened, allowing soft pants to escape from them as your shaking body quickly guided your steps out of your chambers. As you got out, you shut the door behind of you quietly, surreptitiously sneaking into the halls.
Through the dimly lit halls, your feet felt as if they dragged themselves through the floor, with faint footsteps as you tried to reach Luke’s own chambers. With each quiet, sneaky step you made, you could feel a wave of corporal trembling — wobbling weakly from the fright and angst you felt at the sight of the dream. You fought hardly to hold back the tears to escape right there, and you could never want for Luke to see you in such dreadful state.
It felt an eternity to arrive to his quarters, and when you did, you wasted no time on knocking the doors; swinging open the wooden doors. Not only you hadn’t knocked because you didn’t wish to alert any passing guard, but as well because it felt like an important emergency to let him know of the dreams you had.
With his eyes fluttering open sleepily, Lucerys rapidly turned around; his brunette curly hair completely messy from having been suddenly woken up. The Velaryon Prince lazily rubbed his eyes swiftly, frowning his eyebrows in confusion. Closing the door behind of you sloppily, Luke began speaking, in a groggy, yet concerned tone. “(y/n)? Are you alright?–” you intrrupted him, crawling quickly on his bed to desperately approach him.
“Don’t go.”
“W-What?” he stuttered briefly, propping his body on the mattress by his elbows.
“I said don’t go.” you repeated slowly, breathing out some pants. The lump on your throat intensified, nearly choking you. “Don’t go to Storm’s End. Please.” those last words came as a plea, and maybe, they were.
Leisurely, his eyes blinked a few times until his sight properly adjusted to you, and his surroundings. His eyebrows remained furrowed, but his facial expression softened the moment he noticed tears beginning to gently roll through your soft skin, across your cheeks. Before he could mutter a words, a rather loud sob spurred from your lips, gazing down at the bed timidly.
“I saw you—” you paused, trying to catch your breath and stop yourself from tearing any further. His hand tenderly was placed on your arm, rubbing it. “I-I saw, in my dreams... Aemond chasing you,” the words struggled to come out. His green hazel eyes widened slightly at your dream, immediatly moving his hand gently to slip his fingers under your chin, trying to lift it to make eye contact with you.
“H-He was shouting after you, a-and...” you trailed off, feeling some more tears leaving their hot trails through your cheeks as you tried to catch some air. “A-And he... No, Vhagar, killed both Arrax and you. I-I saw it.” merely remembering the image and having to express it to Lucerys made your body feel weak. You nearly choked yourself with the lump formed on your throat.
His heart nearly dropped inside his chest, not managing to stutter a word out of his rosy lips to give you a proper response. All Luke felt able to do, was quickly wrap his arms firmly around your body as you collapsed in tears and sobs on top of him. “I-I don’t care if I have to convince you, or your mother, a thousand times–” you muttered in between sobs, desperately hugging him back. “— But I beg of you, Lucerys, please don’t go there. I can’t stand the thought of you being harmed in any way.”
Your nails scraped on his nightclothing, as if you felt the need of feeling him alive and well under your desperate clinging to his body. Lucerys, with his breath sharpened slightly at the thought of what you had foreseen in your dreams — knowing they always became true — embraced you tighter, pulling you closer to him as his hand moved up and down on your back; his caresses were an attempt to soothe you.
It felt as if his heart shattered at the mere sounds of your fervent sobbing, feeling your spilling tears leave wet spots on his nightwear. Your nose nuzzled his neck, inhaling his sweet vainilla scent, and hiding your crying face on the crook of his neck.
Luke returned the same affection for you, rocking your body slightly to the sides, seeking to comfort you as his eyes fluttered shut. You felt so comfortably warm, and Lucerys could never do anything that would possibly harm you both physically, and mentally. “I-I will not be going.” he responded, in a whisper. His nose nuzzled back your neck, moving his lips upwards to tenderly smooch the top of your head.
The mere thought of his uncle seeking revenge and chasing him down to the point Aemond managed to kill him, was frightening enough already. And of course, he could only imagine both the pain and fear you were going through when dreaming the situation, feeling every bit of the adrenaline.
“It’s alright, issa dōna riña.” he whispered back in between smooches, his hands continuing to sweetly stroke your back in a leisure manner; hearing your saddening sobs fade away at the comfort of his warmth, and his affection. Convincing his mother of not going to Storm’s End wouldn’t be a difficult task, now.
“I’m here for you now, and I’m not going anywhere else.”

The Prince and the Dragon Rider - Part Five: Precipice
Jacaerys Velaryon x dragon rider!reader
Summary: the news of Vaemond Velaryon’s petition to rob Luke of his inheritance makes its way to Dragonstone and you are invited to your first venture to the capital city.
Warnings: none
Authors note: hi! Hope y’all are enjoying the journey so far! We’re taking a bit of a leap forward in time for this chapter to align with the later half of season one, starting with 1x08 “Lord of the Tides.” I do plan to circle back to blurbs covering the three years the reader spent on Dragonstone but I’m very excited to start weaving this story into the canon seen on screen. Enjoy!
soundtrack
part one: the oath
part two: tempest
part three: the dawn
part four: the test
part six: pieces and players
part seven: the rift
The winds whip up from the sea over the cliff face and through your hair as you turn your face to the rising sun. You breathe deeply, leaning your back onto the warm scales of your dragon’s neck, both of you basking in the morning glow. Tempest’s steady breaths and the sound of the waves soothing your unease as your mind had been plagued with nightmares for nearly a fortnight. Although you could never remember them when you awoke, the terror would stick to your bones long into the day.
This peace is interrupted when the dragon beneath you suddenly stands and walks away to stretch her wings. You are pushed forward ever so slightly when she does this and you let out a deep sigh. Slowly lowering your back to the ground in her absence, you stare up at the pink clouds above.
As you lie there, you feel the chill of the morning creep over your skin as the sunlight is briefly cut off by the shape of Arrax approaching. You prop yourself up on your elbows and watch as the small white dragon lands among the grass.
“Kirimvos, Arrax,” Lucerys mutters as he dismounts his dragon.
“Good morrow, Lucerys.” You say with a grunt as you pick yourself up from the ground, turning to see the young Prince approaching with his crossbow slung over his shoulder. “No Jace again?” You ask, unsurprised but with a slight pang of hurt.
“No, he went to a lesson with Grand Maester.” He says with a roll of his eyes.
“Well,” you say with a sigh and bitter smile, “he’ll be sorry he missed this one.”
Lucerys perks up.
“You were able to mend the targets?” He asks enthusiastically.
“They have been mended and I’ve added more. Some in the rocks and some on rafts.” You say with a wicked grin. “Try not to miss because we’ll never get those bolts back.”
“What’s the challenge?” He nearly bounces with excitement.
“It was meant to be a race between you and your brother with Tempest and I in pursuit but I suppose my aim could use some practice.” You say, flipping a small blade in the air. “Most hits wins?”
In response he turns heel and sprints back to Arrax, shouting “sōvēs” as he clambers onto the saddle. The young Prince and his dragon soar over the ledge to begin your training circuit around the island. You chuckle to yourself and stride over to Tempest, who waits for you eagerly.
Though a saddle now sits between her shoulder blades, you still opt to ride in your usual position behind her horns, using the same cord that Jace gifted to you nearly 3 years ago. You had tried to use the saddle when it was first placed on her back but found it too disorienting as anticipating Tempest’s movements became nearly impossible. It also made communicating with her much more difficult. Thankfully the saddle-makers assisted in crafting footholds for you to use that were attached to a collar, placed high on her neck, to allow you more safety and stability.
The pair of you waste little time in catching up to Luke and Arrax as they approach the first target that you have affixed to the cliff side. Lucerys fires his crossbow and the bolt finds purchase in the rusted, old shield with a satisfying thunk that echoes off the cliffs. He whips his head around to look towards you and raises a fist in the air in celebration before rushing off to find the next target.
Lucerys was a welcome addition to your flying drills with Jacaerys, begging to join the moment Arrax was large enough to ride. His pure joy for dragon riding brought some levity to his brother’s intensity. The three of you spent a great deal of time together, whether on dragonback or training yard. Even in your free time, most of it was spent in Jace’s company. Though, in recent months, his attention had been pulled towards studying with Rhaenyra or Grand Maester Geradrys.
There was a surprising ache that arose when your time together began to dwindle but you tried your best to be understanding. Your friendship had only grown stronger in the years you lived beside him on Dragonstone and you had come to know that Jace wanted nothing more than to prove himself in every avenue available to him. However, this knowledge combined with his sudden absence came with the unfortunate side effect of insecurity about his relationship to you.
Was dragon riding just another task to check off his list? Were you simply another teacher that he’d abandon once he felt he’d mastered the skill?
As Jace’s company became scarcer that thought became louder, though you desperately tried to drown it out. Trying always to put on a brave face for Lucerys, who also expressed pain at brother’s absence. Concocting new exercises to distract the young Prince was, in itself, a grateful distraction to you.
You send one of your small daggers sailing through the air at the target, only for it to clatter and vanish among the rocks.
“Damn,” you utter in frustration as Tempest charges onward.
The circuit is over faster than you’d wish and the dragons land back in the field where you’d begun. Lucerys practically leaps from Arrax and rushes over to you and Tempest.
“Got at least 14!” He shouts.
“I’ll be lucky if I even hit half a dozen,” you laugh.
“What’s next?” He asks as you slide of your dragon’s neck.
“We can go collect the bolts and daggers and run the circuit again or we could try swimming?”
His excitement dies down instantly.
“Arrax has no love for the water,” he says disgruntled, “I don’t think he’ll ever try swimming again.”
“Shall we find the Master at Arms instead? I am apparently in need of more practice than I imagined.” You jest, trying to keep both your spirits high.
He shakes his head no.
“I don’t want him to see that I’m already in need of more bolts.” He gestures to his empty quiver. “Let’s go break fast then we can return for the ones in targets.”
You sigh quietly before nodding with a smile.
“Beat you to the dragonmont.” You call and signal to Tempest to take wing, quickly climbing back up to your position before she takes off.
When you make your way into the dragonmont, Grand Maester Gerardys waits anxiously near the columns at the other end of the landing platform. His face alights briefly when he hears you enter the cavern but immediately falls when he recognizes the dark shape of Tempest.
“Grand Maester?” You inquire after dismounting your dragon. “Are you alright?”
“I do not know if this yet concerns you, Dragon Rider.” He asserts dryly. “Is Lucerys with you?”
“He should be following shortly,” you gesture towards the entrance.
He nods and returns to his anxious pacing.
“Return to your chambers so we can find you quickly if needed.”
You begin to protest but Arrax makes his entrance behind you and Gerardys takes hold of your wrist, guiding you to the exit.
“Go!” He shouts then makes haste to meet Lucerys on the platform.
Without another word, you run through the pillars, looking down at your wrist in confusion. You slow your pace as you enter the crowded hallways leading to your room, discreetly analyzing those that pass you for any indication about what is happening. Finding no answers, you focus on weaving through the crowd, hoping to receive word in your chambers.
Out of breath, you burst through your own door, into your empty room. With no messengers or visitors waiting for you, you flop onto your bed to catch your breath. You stare up at the once barren stone walls, now alive with trinkets and tokens from your adventures. The red banner from Daemon’s test is fastened to the wall, displayed prominently when you enter the room.
Your stomach begins to grumble and you sit up to watch the door, willing it to open with some news. After a few moments, you stand with a sigh and move to change out of your riding clothes. With whatever excitement is stirring, you imagine you and Luke will not be returning to those shields anytime soon. Once you have changed into your day uniform, you pull a book from the wall and sit beneath your window, hoping to distract yourself from the growing hunger.
However, after rereading the same page four times over, you close the book with a huff and resort to staring out the window. You watch as a thin layer of clouds roll in from the sea. Just as the clouds begin to block out the morning sun, a knock reverberates throughout the room and you stand at attention.
A kingsguard pulls open the door and Rhaenyra steps through, a troubled look upon her face.
“Princess,” you bow, “are you well?”
The door closes behind her, leaving the two of you alone. She inhales sharply, bringing her hand to her swollen belly, before releasing the breath slowly, gently shaking her head side to side.
“Luke’s grandsire has been grievously wounded and in response, his inheritance is being challenged.” She looks to your eyes to measure your understanding. You nod and she continues, though as she speaks, a chill begins to creep up your spine.
“We must travel to King’s Landing to petition against these claims before the Queen Regent.” An unabashed grimace crosses over her face as she moves to stand beside the empty fireplace. She takes a moment to look about the room thoughtfully before continuing.
“I should like you and Tempest to escort Luke and Jace on dragonback. We wish to portray the strength of our house as we enter this arena after so many years away.”
You tilt your head in confusion at the Princess. Her and Daemon had expressed the need for discretion after you were sworn into their service, but rumors of a new dragon and rider were hard to squash, especially as Tempest continued to grow. With such a request for you to join them, on dragonback no less, the seriousness of this journey is made clear to you.
“When do we depart?” You ask, standing up straight to speak with confidence.
She smiles at you tenderly and gestures for you to approach. Reaching out to hold your hand between hers before speaking again.
“I have been very pleased by your service to my family thus far,” her voice becomes grave and she grips your hand a little tighter, “but The Red Keep will be a challenge unlike any you have yet faced. Holdfast to all that you have learned here and remember your oath.”
“I will be ready, my Princess.”
“We will be glad of your company.” She releases your hand and strides towards the door, “We leave at daybreak.”
And with that, you are left alone in your chambers once more. You busy yourself with packing your belongings while attempting to process the Princess’s words. Both Jace and Luke had told stories of their time in The Red Keep, and though you initially took them with a grain of salt given how young they were when they resided there. However, with Rhaenyra’s foreboding words, you begin to understand the world you will soon be entering.
You throw your bag upon your bed once it is filled with your clothing and weapons and sit beside it. Despite how comfortable you have made yourself in this chamber over the last three years, it is surprising to you how quickly you can prepare for a hasty departure. The muscle memory of so many narrow escapes still lingers in your being. A quiet sigh leaves your lips and you make for the door. You briefly consider seeking out the Princes but think better of it, knowing they are likely preparing for the journey ahead. Instead, you let your feet carry you where they will, wandering the castle corridors aimlessly until you enter the garden of Aegon the Conqueror.
You’re unsure how much time passes as you sit at the edge of pool within the cave that you and Tempest once inhabited. Watching the water swirl beneath your feet, you find yourself wondering what your life might have looked like if you and Jace hadn’t been caught in that storm. Although you are certainly grateful for the opportunities you have been given, a simple existence with Tempest, Jacaerys, and Vermax was all you truly desired.
When you took your oath, you knew your life would change in ways you could not fully understand, but what kept you persevering through every new challenge was Jacaerys. His presence felt like an anchor in the chaos all around you, but now you feel the tether wearing thin.
Your eyes begin to well with tears. The life you had envisioned, side by side with your friend, will become nothing but a childish memory. Jacaerys will be King and you will become the Dragon Rider that must train his heirs.
“I’ve been looking all over for you,” a familiar voice calls from the opposite end of the cave and you frantically wipe the tears from your eyes.
The footsteps approach but you keep your gaze fixed on the water.
“What are you doing down here?” Jace asks as he joins you on the ground.
You turn to him and his smile fades as he sees the remnants of tears upon your face.
“Are you alright?” He asks and his eyebrows knit together in concern.
“I am,” you say turning back to the water, “I needed to find somewhere quiet to think is all. You seem in good spirits considering the circumstances. How is Luke?” You continue quickly before he can probe any further.
Jace hesitates a moment then quietly follows your gaze and watches the water as well.
“He worries but he need not trouble himself. They have no grounds to take Driftmark from him.” He states, anger seeping through his words.
“I hope you’re right,” you say as you pull your knees up to your chest.
“You have no need to worry either,” his voice softens and he nudges you with his shoulder.
“Why do you say that?” You ask with a raise of your brow.
“You seem distressed,” he mutters, instinctively inching closer to press his shoulder against yours, “I want you to enjoy your first visit to The Red Keep. It was my first home, I’m excited to show it to you.” He flashes a smile, “It’ll be your home too sooner rather than later.”
“Will it?“ You scoff.
“Of course,” he says slightly confused, “why would you not be coming with us when my mother takes the throne?”
“I assumed I’d remain here, training whatever dragon riders are sent my way next. That’s all I seem to be good for these days.” You say dryly.
“That’s ridiculous, you’re a part of our house.” His voice raises slightly and he pulls away to look at you face on.
“I am in service to your house,” you correct, “I am not myself the blood of the dragon. And when you inherit The Red Keep and Lucerys takes his place at Driftmark, I imagine I will be left here alone.”
The tears begin forming again and you look up at the ceiling of the cavern to keep them from falling.
“Y/n,” he says tenderly and places a hand atop your knee, “you are a masterful Dragon Rider, a skilled warrior, and you have proven yourself to be a loyal member of our house. I have every intention to make you a member of my small council if my mother does not find a seat for you in her’s. But more than that, you are my dearest friend. And I will always have a seat for you at my table.”
You sit stunned for a moment, the tears still threatening to pour over, until he gives your knee a gentle squeeze. You a shaky breath and turn to face him.
“I have missed you, Jace,” you say quietly, the tears finally falling.
“I am sorry I have been distant, it was not my intention to abandon you,” He stands and offers you his hand. “I am the reason you have been pulled into this life and I have no desire to let you face it alone.”
You wipe the tears from your face then take his hand to pull yourself up beside him.
“Would you like to go for a ride this evening?” You ask sheepishly as he pulls you towards the exit before releasing your hand. “Make sure Tempest and Vermax still enjoy flying together before we embark on such a long journey?” You smirk.
He breathes a quiet laugh.
“I’d love nothing more.”

Dynasty of Flames
Aemond Targaryen x Targaryen-Royce Reader
Summary: Being born into the most respected and equally feared houses in the realm made people look up to you as if you were a god and the devil himself, in equal measure. People say that when a Targaryen is born, the gods flip a coin; and when news of the birth of Daemon’s firstborn- a girl, spread, people could only wait in anticipation to see which side of the coin faced up during her birth.
Aemond slowly, and I mean SLOWLY, letting his guard down
Warnings: Incest (duh)
Part 1, part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5
Part 6
Y/N heaved a sigh of relief once she was within the comfort of her quarters after the hearing. She closed her eyes for a moment to process everything that had happened. How Luke almost lost his claim, how she argued back with Vaemond, how he insulted the boys, when he publicly insulted the princess Rhaenyra, how Daemon took his head for it.
She was terrified at first; not by the sight of Vaemond's disembodied figure crumpled on the floor but for what might happen to her father for killing a lord in the presence of the king and other nobles.
Daemon was not charged with anything and was let off the hook without a single consequence of his impulsive decision.
The princess walked to her bed and sank into the soft mattress and covers, taking a moment to close her eyes. After a few moments she turned toward the little table by her bed and stretched out her hand to grab the letter she had noticed was passed from under the foot of her door when she'd woken up. She was in a hurry in the morning to make it to the throne room on time so she hadn’t read the letter at the time.
She curiously eyed the seal that held the parchment shut. It was a blue-coloured wax seal that had the symbol of a dragon wing. The princess carefully pried apart the paper so that she might read the note and at first glance, she immediately knew who it was from.
It wasn't the language that was used, but the handwriting that gave it away. It was his handwriting. Y/N was a bit confused as to what he had written and why he felt that it was necessary to pen it down instead of just telling her: she was quite literally only a few steps away from him. But then again, she doubted after last night's conversation he would want to talk in person; she had of course stormed off from him.
Her eyes skimmed over the words and she, subconsciously, began to read the note in his voice.
"Ñuha dōna Y/N, nyke jaelagon naejot gīda skoros mirre īlon ȳdragotan nūmāzma mōrī bantis. Iksan vaoreznuni syt se mijegindita ñuhoso nyke dīnagon ezīmagon udra skoros iksin isse ñuha bartos, nyke gōntan daor nūmāzma naejot vēdros ao."
"My sweet Y/N, I wish to clear whatever we talked about last night. I apologise for the poor choice of words and an even poorer attempt at wording my thoughts, it was not my intention to offend you."
Y/N continued to read and then immediately sat up as she read aloud the latter part of the letter, wincing inwardly.
"Kesan sagon olvie biare naejot rhaenagon isse se Godswood gō īlon bartos naejot se dēmalion tistālion, se kessa olvie vaoresagon naejot ȳdragon isse issaros"
"If we could meet in the Godswood before the hearing, I would be most appreciative and would much prefer to talk in person"
The girl slowly folded the paper and heaved a sigh, now wishing she had read the letter on the morrow. She quickly put the letter under her pillow and stood up from the bed, wasting no time in pushing open her doors to go find Aemond. Y/N was a bit hesitant as she neared his chambers, especially after she had ignored him all morning and unintentionally left him to await her arrival at the Godswood.
But no matter, she would be honest and tell him that she hadn’t read the letter until, well, now.
She'd only knocked thrice before she heard the sound of footsteps, indicating that whoever was in there was getting closer to the door.
As soon as the heavy wooden door swung inward to open, Aemond's lips parted ever so slightly when he took notice of who was awaiting him on the other side of the door. Y/N was the last person he was expecting.
"Princess" he greeted curtly "lost your way perhaps?"
"I know my way around the keep quite perfectly thankyou" the girl briskly responded which made Aemond chuckle "I got your note, though I could not find time to read it in the early hours of the morrow. I only just broke the seal and discovered your wish to see me in the Godswood"
Aemond's expression softened.
"Well, nice to know you did not intentionally leave me awaiting your arrival all morning" his piercing gaze never wavered and he was rather impressed by how unfazed she was by it "I was on my way to the dragon pits. After such an eventful morning, I wish to go for a short flight around the city"
"Ah" Y/N simply smiled. She too used flying as an escape from the world sometimes; riding on dragon back was rather therapeutic "I shall leave you be then my pr-
"Would you care to join me?" he quickly asked before he could change his mind "after all, you do owe me the pleasure of your company after you had me wait for you all morning"
"Unintentionally"
"Unintentionally" Aemond repeated. Word of the day, he thought.
Y/N hadn’t informed her family of her plans with Aemond. Luke was reaffirmed as Lord of the tides and she wanted them to joyously celebrate it instead of ruining their day by announcing that she was going to spend her time with someone they all seemed to dispise.
Y/N was a bit hesitant at first, to make herself seated in the sadle atop Vhagar. The dragon was known to be quite hot-tempered and hostile but Aemond assured her that Vhagar wouldn’t hurt her at all if it was accompanied by him. So, Y/N just took his word for it and climbed into the saddle, Aemond following soon after and seating himself behind her. He snaked his arms around her waist to grab ahold the reigns that would allow for him to control the large beast.
"You aren’t afraid, are you?" he asked as he leaned closer, his lips brushing against the shell of Y/N's ear "of Vhagar?"
"Do you wish for me to be?" she asked with a smirk.
"You'd be a fool not to" he grinned as Vhagar stretched her long, leathery wings.
"Are you afraid, my prince?" Y/N asked, gripping the saddle as she felt the Dragon jolt violently, signalling that she was getting ready to take flight.
"I am not" he responded.
"Then I suppose that makes us both fools" Y/N turned so that she might steal a glance at him and that resulted in their noses bumping. Aemond leaned away at first, not expecting to have her face merely inches away from his and Y/N grinned at this before turning around just as Aemond asked for Vhagar to take to the skies.
"Soves, Vhagar"
Y/N closed her eyes as she basked in the familiar sensation of the cool breeze blowing against her face, like the wind was peppering her with kisses. She hummed to herself, leaning back into Aemond's chest which felt as rigid as the back of a chair.
Aemond could feel her body move slightly as she heaved a long sigh of contentment. He let go of the reigns and pried her fingers off the saddle to bring her arms to the sides, outstretched.
At first, Y/N gripped his hands, shifting in her seat a little so that she could balance herself even though she knew she was securely chained to the saddle and there was no way she would fall out. Eventually, she loosened her grip and gently rested her comparatively smaller hand in his large one.
Aemond liked the feeling of her soft cool skin against her warm hand, her fingers delicately brushing along his skin as she faced her palms outward to feel the wind hitting against it. Aemond ran his fingers along her knuckles, refusing to break away from the contact. He didn’t know why he was craving the sensation of skin against skin. It was like someone had set a fire ablaze in his chest and the only thing who soothed those flames was her touch.
He was a bit happy that he had forgotten his riding gloves that day.
"Y/N" he leaned in again so that she might better heard him amidst the wind "about last night, I did not wish to imply that I would marry you because it was something I believed to be merely obliged to do"
The princess didn’t respond but she tilted her head slightly, her cheek brushing against Aemond's lips, signifying that she was paying attention.
"You are the blood of the dragon and you deserve nothing less than what befits the gods. I can provide for you, ensure and contribute to your happiness" Aemond made a bold move and slid one arm around her waist, relaxing his tense frame "I only wish the best for you, something I can and will give to you, willingly"
Y/N listened to him intently as her pulse began to quicken.
"No mere lord in the realm would cherish you as much as I do, my dearest friend. I would kill for you, conquer cities for you. You've stood at my side when I had no one and I promise to stay by yours just the same" he continued. He remembered all the horrible marriages within this house: his own mother’s to the king, a marriage that had broken the family. His older brother and sister's, a marriage in which the both of them barely spoke. Daemon and Rhaenyra's, a marriage that was deemed scandalous. Aemond never really expected for anyone to love him, not after his injury but he did have something far more precious that none of the others had: a genuine friendship "the both of us, together, we will be vehement. I am more than willing to take my closest friend as wife because I couldn’t see a more suitable match"
Aemond, this time, deliberately brushed his lips against Y/N's skin, right behind her earlobe which made her shudder.
"I am willing to marry you not solely out of duty. I am willing to do so because I believe we can restore our house to its complete glory"

A Question of Loyalty VI
Rhaenyra Targaryen x reader, Alicent Hightower x reader
Word count: 1.8k
Summary: When dragons of green and dragons of black dance, you have to choose the color that suits you best.
A weary sigh escaped your lungs as the sun set, the remnants of the reddish orange sun fading sublimely.
If Daemon hadn't killed your uncle, you have known what he was talking about. But he took it to his grave, he was in a rage that surely would have been that and not something serious.
You prayed for his soul in the Godswood for he was a member of your family despite his eagerness to bury your father.
“My lady.” A familiar voice came from behind, it was hoarse. “I wanted to thank you for your support back in the Throne Room. I knew you would root for my cause.”
“I didn’t do it for you, Rhaenyra. I did it for Lucerys.” You coldly replied.
“Right, yeah. I still very much appreciate your vote of confidence towards us.” You gave her a once-over.
Rhaenyra had a look of burden all over her, years ago you would ask her what was wrong, then help her to ease her turmoil but now, you just let the silence settle in.
“I want to name her like you.” She spoke, massaging her belly.
“I do not know if I’m worthy of such honor.”
“You are, Y/N.”
“Are you certain she’ll be a girl?”
“I’m counting on it.” You smiled faintly, it didn’t reach your eyes. You tried damn hard to disguise your hurt, the princess read your unreadable thoughts and aimed to grab your hands, out of instinct you recoiled before she could, she jerked back.
“My father is dying. But I noticed that his model city was immaculate. I don't think Alicent cared so much about cleaning it, or sending someone to do it. I thank your for it.”
“It is a sad thing, that the King is in such condition. But Queen Alicent has been seeing to the Realm’s interests. She’s doing her duty to the Kingdoms by ruling them wisely.” Rhaenyra sneered.
“Has she now? She meant to set aside Luke, your brother’s son… how is that doing a good job?”
“My brother’s son…” You mimicked, her gaze piercing as a dagger. “Laenor is dead. Cuckolded, you married your uncle, Rhaenyra. Why?”
“Y/N…—“ Tremendous amount of guilt invaded Rhaenyra, oh how she wished she could come clean about the truth of him.
“He was a far better man than Daemon will ever be. Even Harwin was. How could you?”
“Would you have wedded me?”
“What?”
“You’ve heard me. Would you’ve let me take you as my wife after Laenor’s demise?”
“That’s nonsense…”
“To me it never was, Y/N. With your brother gone, I had to strengthen my line. I had to—“
“You needn’t have to if you hadn’t mothered bastards!” She had no right to be offended, and you didn’t mean ill will towards the lads, she winced angrily for a second before she went softer. You still cared for her, she knew.
“We never tried, Y/N. We could never. I needed heirs, you can’t hold that against me forever.”
“Your line is stronger than ever. You are to be the Queen. I do hope Daemon suffices. I hope he’s gentle to you and treats you right.” You stepped to leave the Godswood, the starry night already hanging on your heads. Rhaenyra’s eyes were narrowed as you walked past her, she nigh stopped you, but she chose not to.
-
In the morrow, Helaena randomly chatted about “trivial” stuff while the twins were playing on the other side of the room. You were trying to gain the Her Grace’s attention, hopefully she would walk in and you’d take the chance.
“The old High Septon told my father that king’s laws are one thing and the laws of the gods another, the boy said stubbornly. Children are made in a marriage bed and blessed by the Father and the Mother, but others are born of lust and weakness, he said. The grey-haired man claimed that some are born of love and devotion. Blessed with wisdom and kindness, a rare type. But a type nonetheless.” A queer, uncomfortable perplexity began to invade you as Helaena finished speaking.
“Helaena, do you mind elaborating? Where did you hear this? Or rather, read it. Is it about your sister’s children?” You started interrogating her with dread. She squinted at you with a calm countenance, as calm as midnight waves. “Sweet Helaena…” Clearly with no intention of further elaboration. You wouldn’t want to overstep her boundaries or make her uneasy, as you knew she would get.
You were nonplussed. It was rude of you to decline the invitation made by the King himself, but you couldn't bear to be at the same table with the two women, you couldn't bear the deadly looks, the comments. You couldn't deal with it now that this was unveiled to you.
Your mother Rhaenys was secluded in her chambers to wash the image of Vaemond's head split in two. You couldn't face her, not yet.
You had a hundred questions swirling around, you were bewildered, stupefied. It made sense now, it was clear. Your uncle was about to say that you were born of your father's affair with another woman, Helaena spoke in riddles on the same subject. You've been lied to all your life, you were not a legitimate child... It was too much.
You poured glass after glass, until you emptied the flagon thrice in a row, your head spinning and your movements unfocused. The young princess meant well, she thought you deserved to know the truth. She loved you, why would she made this up?
You were a bastard. You were a fucking bastard. Your father’s been keeping this from you since forever, did your mother.., no, did Rhaenys pretended to love you? No, she did love you. It did make sense now why you didn’t have a resemblance to her, or to any Targaryen, but… you didn’t look like Corlys either.
Who the hell was your real mother? Was she a whore, a noble lady? Did she care? Was she still alive? How did you bond with Silverwing if you were just a simple bastard? Endless questions plagued your mind as you kept on drinking them away, your vision blurred, your heart staggered.
You slurred your way around the Keep, not with a precise destination, barely able to stand on your feet. A pair of vigorous arms caught you.
“Y/N? What happened, why are you like this?” The Princess worriedly examined you. “How much did you drink?”
You couldn’t bring yourself to look at her, maybe it was the booze in your system, or your inability to maintain eye contact with the culprit of your many heartaches.
“You skipped dinner with us, so you could get ridiculously hammered?” She nigh yelled at you, seldom did she act like the big woman, but given your state she could not talk softly to you.
“Leaving…— leaving without saying goodbye?” You managed to say.
“We are used to that.” Rhaenyra said back, your legs wobbly, her grip still stable in your waist, she pulled you closer to her.
“Ao gaomagon naejot fuck around rūsīr Harwin no isse these halls, sir rūsīr Daemon. Jāhor ziry mirre mōris?” (You used to fuck around in these halls with Harwin, and now with Daemon. Will it ever end?) You clumsy garbled in Valyrian. Rhaenyra bitterly sniggered.
“Hae lo ao weren't fucking se dāria pār, sepār raqagon ao issi sir.” (As if you weren't fucking the Queen then, just like you are now) She spat. You were wasted, and to be honest had no more vitality to keep on crossing swords with her.
“Let go of me, Rhaenyra.”
She hesitated, fearing that you would fall to the ground as soon as she loosened her grip, but you did not, you steadied your step and walked away from her as quickly as possible. The princess was puzzled, she should have accompanied you to your quarters, she should have, instead she turned to her children and her husband, determined to leave the city at once.
You ended up in front of a familiar wooden door, you thumped dramatically wishing the Queen could spare you some of her time. She did, she was still in her green gown, her locks were messy. She flinched at the sight of you.
“You stink of wine.” She uttered.
You’ve been here before, you remember being here under the same circumstances, and yet you couldn’t stop.
You pushed Alicent back to her bed, in your drunkenness you managed to be careful not to act so rudely.
She gasped, and did no more than contemplate the face of the woman she’s always been in love with. She’s always desired you, yearning to be yours again… she bit her lip rougher to halt herself to devour your inviting, redden lips.
You tucked yourself into the side of her neck, your breathing overflowing with craving. You were still intoxicated, but it was wearing off in a quick pace.
The noise you moaned next came from the depths of you. “Rhaenyra”
Alicent stiffened and fought with all her might to stop her hand from slapping you. Aware of the terrible blunder you had made, you buried even deeper into her, pressing tightly your body to hers.
“Go to her. I wager she’s still here.” She tried to shove you away, she could already feel the tears materializing.
Seeing the hurt written in her sobered you up in a blink of an eye. You finally spoke up, chests colliding.
"I wish I had long silver hair, striking blue eyes. I wish I had a free spirit, breaking all the damn rules no matter what the consequences. I wish I had a freaking dragon" Alicent shouted.
"I adore your chestnut locks, your deep brown eyes. I love how exquisitely you carry yourself when it comes to rules. And Silverwing took to you so well, why would you need a dragon?"
“So you would love me as much.”
“Ali…— Alicent.” She quivered under you at the way you pronounced her name. “I’m tired of this sickening game. I want us. I want you. It’s always been you. To me you're perfect just the way you are.” You weren't going to force her on you, so you stood up and rubbed your temples. "I am definitely not worthy of you now, Your Grace, but I will work on myself to give you a version that is, I vow to you." Alicent interlaced your fingers, preventing you from leaving the room.
“I’d ask you to stay the night, but I must look after the King.”
“I know, duty comes first.” She hummed.
“And I wouldn’t want my sheets to reek of you, bathe yourself. Have some rest. We can talk in the morrow.” A profound hopefulness made its way to you. You tittered, Alicent gave you a quick peck on the corner of the mouth, as you watched her fade into the castle halls.
Will love ever be the end of duty?

Synopsis: Two households, Targaryen and Velaryon, both alike in dignity in Westeros, from ancient grudge break to new mutiny, where civil blood makes civil hands unclean. From forth the fatal loins of these two foes. A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life; Whose piteous misadventures buries their parents' strife.
pairing: Jacaerys Velaryon x Reader warnings: kissingg and mutual simping word count: 6k + note: I used a mix of Westeroi, modern English, and Shakespearean language so I hope it's still an ok read. I never realized how fast paced it was until I read the screenplay and scripts, so this is a shorter series than others.
ACT I
It was excruciatingly hot, even at eight o’clock. King’s Landing was coming to life: people poured out of the houses and filled the streets while market traders set up their stalls in the grand piazza. It was an excellent place for business of those who lived and worked in the rich houses that lined King’s Landing’s main square. The Targaryen mansion was by far the largest – filled with servants and king’s guard, always buzzing with activity.
Lately, Jacaerys had been faithfully ignoring his dear brother due to a recent heartache. Lucerys had carefully planned out today how he was going to catch him off guard and bless him with good tidings. Lucerys strolled slowly behind his brother and down the street. “Hi.” he spoke as he got near to Jacaerys, his tiding was ignored.
Lucerys ran in front of Jace and bent his head to catch his brother’s eye. “Good morrow.” Jacaerys pretended not to see him. Lucerys wrapped an arm around his elder brother so he could ignore him no longer. “Good morrow,” Lucerys sang.
Jacaerys sighed a long, mournful sigh. “Is the day so young?” Lucerys walked in unison with him carefully studying his face. “Only just past eight.” He sighed again, “how slow time goes when you’re depressed.” Luke raised a brow, “What sadness plagues you that makes time drag so?” Jace rolled his eyes, “not having what I need to make it go fast.” Luke gasped, “not in love…!” His brother stopped walking, “no, out… Out of the favor of the girl I love.”
“Oh my,” Lucerys whispered, attempting not to giggle. “It’s a hard life. Love, tis’ such a gentle thing, yet so rough when it comes down to it.” Luke did not know much of love, but he knew this was just another crush that failed to come to fruition. His elder brother was quite talented at being overly dramatic. “Tis’ true,” muttered Jacaerys.
The youngest brother was struggling to hold his composure as he listened to his brother's woes. Jacaerys shook his head sadly. “The world is filled with hate… I’m thinking only about love. Oh, everything feels upside down.” Jacaerys ears perked up when he heard a hushed giggle behind him. He whipped his head around and looked sharply at Lucerys. “Are you laughing at me?”
“Would I do that, dear brother o’ mine,” jested Lucerys. “You make me want to cry.” The elder brother grew tense, “Why?” Luke patted his back, “because you’re so pathetic it’s saddening.” Jace scoffed, “It’s love that makes me pathetic, but don’t give it another thought.” His eyelids slowly began to brim with tears. “If you start feeling sorry for me it’ll only make things worse… So go home.”
“Be serious right now. Tell me who has caused such despair.” Jacaerys pouted like a child, “I won’t dare speak her name… but she is a girl.” Lucerys made his best attempt to not tease “Oh. well done,” remarked Lucerys. “I assumed that when you said you were in love.” His elder brother smiled to himself reminiscing on his memory of her, “Her name is Baela and she’s beautiful.” That she was her skin glistened with the oil she used to soften it. Her dark eyes glistened brighter than any star and her lips were plush and red like the most beautiful rose. Luke was growing bored and mildly annoyed. “Good for you.”
Jacaerys plucked a handkerchief out of his pocket and dabbed at his eyes. “She’s not interested in boys says she never will be. When our eyes meet, she looks the other way…. I’ve even offered her coin, Lucerys, coins!” The younger brother sighed, “Well. She’s determined not to have a man.”
“Oh Gods,” Jacaerys groaned. “She’s so beautiful, Lucerys. And she’ll go through life alone and when she dies all beauty will die with her. She says she’ll never love anyone, so I’m destined for a living death.” Luke could bear no more of the self-pity, he grasped Jacaerys’s wrist. “If you trust me, I can tell you how to forget her.”
“Impossible… Tell me how.’ Jacaerys stopped crying and lifted his eyebrows. His eyes were as bright as the sun gleaming above them. “Easy task,” exclaimed Lucerys. “Get out and about. Look at other girls.” Jace’s joy melted away and he nearly let out a sob, “It’s no use… Whenever I see a girl from now on, I’ll only think of one who is even more beautiful.” Luke chuckled to himself, “I’m taking that as a challenge, I’ll sort it out, don’t you worry big boy.”
-
It was high past noon when little Luke returned with a grand plan to free his brother from wallowing in sorrow. After a deal was made with their less than adequate cousin a plan had been hatched. He rushed through the humming streets and slammed the door open to their lush apartments. “Aha!’ shouted Lucerys announcing his arrival. “We have just gotten invited to the most lavish party, dear brother. We have finally made our way into a Targaryen affair!”
Jacaerys leapt from his seat and rushed over to where his young brother stood. “Who shall be in attendance?” Luke waved his ticket proudly, “Your dear Baela, among some of the finest girls in King’s Landing. Let us go to Targaryen’s party, Jacaerys.” He shoved the ticket into his brother's hand. “I’ll show you that the girl you think is a swan is nothing more than a crow.”
“A girl more beautiful than Baela?” His eyes widened before they dulled once more, “never. The sun’s never seen a more beautiful woman since the world began.” Luke wanted to vomit, he had heard enough of this, “Rubbish! Every time you’ve seen her she’s been on her own. You need to make comparisons and I bet there’ll be hundreds of girls who’ll put Baela in the shade.” Jacaerys thought to himself for a long while, clearly he believed his brother but refused to admit it. “Alright, I’ll go,” spoke Jacaerys. “But not because I think you can show me anyone better. I’m going only so that I can see her.”
-
Lady Targaryen came into the sitting room where her daughter’s nurse was sewing a pattern onto a handkerchief. She gazed around the room before speaking. “Where’s that child o’ mine? I wish to speak to her.” The nurse stood from her place on the settee, “Ladybird!” she called. “My little lamb! Where are you child? Y/N!”
“Coming,” a soft voice called, and you came running in from the adjoining room. The surprise on her face was evident when she saw her mother. Lady Targaryen was so busy as of late she rarely had time to visit you. “Mother! What do you want?”
“We need to discuss a private matter,’ spoke Lady Targaryen. It was a private demand for the nurse to leave. Thus, the nurse got up reluctantly, but before she reached the door, Lady Targaryen called her back. “You might as well stay,” she sighed. “Your advice would be helpful.” Lady Targaryen cleared her throat. “Y/N’s getting to the age when…” She frowned, searching for the right word. “Let’s just say she’s at a pretty age. She’s going to be fourteen in two weeks.”
“Oh yes,” exclaimed your Nurse. “On Maiden’s Day she’ll be fourteen. She was the same age as my Susan when she died, God rest her soul. Anyway, on Maiden’s Day she’ll be fourteen. I remember it so well: it’s eleven years since the earthquake…” She took no notice of the impatient tapping of Lady Targaryen’s fingers on the table, nor the glances you were giving her to cease her gabbering. “And you stop dead now too, please, Nurse,” you pleaded.
“I swear I have finished.” The Nurse bowed her head. She tenderly gazed upon your face before opening her trap once more. “But I must say it. You were the most beautiful baby I ever nursed. If I could live to see you married, I’d die peacefully.” Your mother, Lady Rhaenyra Targaryen grinned, “Married… That’s just what I’ve come to talk about!” She clapped her hands together and motioned for you to sit on her lap and so you did. Though she now shifted under your weight unlike when you were young. “Little lamb, what do you think about getting married?’
“I’ve never even thought about it,’ you sighed. You knew where this conversation was headed. “Well give it a thought now, girls younger than you are already mothers. As a matter of fact, I was your mother when I was much the age you are now… The Count of Casterly Rock wishes to marry you.”
The Nurse clapped her hands together. “Now there’s a man, the perfect man.” Rhaenyra smiled, “The best in King’s Landing.” Your nurse’s voice reeked of excitement, “without doubt.” Your mother ran a finger through your hair. “Well? Do you think you could love him?’ You had no clue to say. It was too unexpected and far too soon. The idea of marriage, especially to an older man did not suit your fancy. You had heard nothing but bad things about the Lannisters. They were greedy and too ambitious to trust. “You’ll see him at the party, take a good look at him. He has sound prospects and many riches.”
You felt all the joy you once had for this evening being slowly drained away with every word she spoke. Riches and prospects… you did not care much for those either. “Come on, what do you think? Do you like the idea?” You knew a simple no would not suffice. You spoke carefully, “I shall look at him but I’m not going to rush or do anything that I haven’t thought about.”
A knock at the door caught both of your attention. One of your father’s servants came in, “Madam, the guests are starting to arrive. My master wants you.” Lady Targaryen stood up and brushed off her skirts. “I have to go, come on Y/N, the Count’s waiting.” You glanced back at your nurse praying for aid, “Go and meet your love.” The nurse was no help after all, traitor.
-
Jacaerys was impatiently tapping his foot. “Are we going to make some excuse for coming? Or shall we just go in and see what happens?” The three boys stood in the piazza, watching the huge front door of Targaryen’s mansion open. Aegon, the one with the invitation, and Jacaerys’s best friend, sat on the ground. He was making it clear that he was the only one to have been invited and the other two were stowaways. The reason for his invitation was that he was a Targaryen too.
Lucerys was the first to stand up and speak. “Speeches are out. No-one makes speeches when they arrive anymore. We’ll just go in and pretend we belong. Tough luck if they don’t like us.” Jace nodded, there was no need to draw attention to themselves. He sighed, “Give me the torch, Aegon. I’ll carry it: I’m not going to dance.” Aegon rolled his eyes, “seven hells… No, you're dancing. That’s the entire point.”
Jacaerys sat down beside his friend and relinquished his hold of the torch. “Come on kid, lovers are always in the mood for dancing.” He wrapped his arm around Jace’s shoulder. “Not me. It’s because of love that I’m not in the mood.” Aegon laughed, he did not have the same restraint as Luke. “What a fuss about nothing.” Lucerys hid his face as he chuckled. “So now you laugh at me?” He was offended to say the least. Of course, a scoundrel like Aegon could never understand love. He was too in love with himself to feel the agony Jace did. “You don’t know what it’s like until you’ve felt it. It hurts like hell.”
Aegon groaned, “It'll stop hurting once you’re inside. Hand me a mask, Aemond.” The other three boys gathered around him. “Now as soon as we’re in let’s all get down to some serious business.” Lucerys declared in the most serious voice he could manage. Jacaerys was reluctant, “I know we mean no harm and all, but I don’t think it’s very bright to go to this party.”
Aegon furrowed his brows in confusion. “Why?” The eldest boy sighed once again, “I had a dream last night.” His ears were filled with a symphony of groans from his friends.
“If we don’t get a move on, all the food will be gone by the time we get there.” Aemond spoke quickly as he bounced on his feet. Jacaerys glanced at the door and realized there was a hoard of people going through the doors. “I have a strong premonition that something’s going to happen tonight. I feel it’s going to end in my having to repay a debt with my life.”
“Pray tell, when did you become a dragon dreamer?” Aemond raised his brows at him. The boys glanced at each other once last time and threw their heads up in laughter. Fools, Jacaerys realized he was surrounded by jesters. He shrugged, “Alright then, off we go.”
-
The servants were running rampant trying to clean up after the dinner and prepare for the dancing. A few bumped in Jacaerys’s shoulder causing him to become more annoyed at being here. There was no joy to be found here unless it was with Baela.
They stood off to the side as Lord Targaryen walked upon a raised floor and waved to the crowd. “Welcome, gentlemen. Once there was a time when I could wear a mask and charm a girl by whispering a story in her ear. No more, no more, no more. If you aren’t old like me, all the ladies who aren’t suffering from corns on their feet will dance with you. Ha ha! My ladies, now which of you will refuse to dance now? If any of you acts shyly, I’ll swear she has corns. Come, musicians, play. Make room in the hall! Make room! Dance, girls.” Jacaerys realized again at that moment his family’s greatest foe was a fool.
You didn’t arrive early, nor did you arrive right on time. Lady Targaryen decided to arrive late to make an entrance and that you did. For a second all eyes were on you and the more than revealing evening gown you were forced to wear, twas not to your liking. Your father, Lord Daemon Targaryen had already begun making a spectacle of himself atop the hall.
Your nerves ached as you stared at the crowd in front of you. Instead of listening to your mother speak about how you need to charm your way into the Lannister’s heart you slipped away into the crowd. The guests took kindly to you and gladly swung you around as they danced. If you ever were filled with sorrow, dancing was sure to ease that pain.
Jacaerys noticed you too late, you were already dancing with other people. He had never laid eyes upon such a beautiful maiden in his entire life. Thus, his agony from earlier melted away and soon became long forgotten. He leaned over to Aegon, “Who is that girl on the arm of that man over there?”
“I do not know. Perhaps a cousin o’ mine by the hue of her hair.” Jace’s heart raced as you glanced over to him before quickly being spun the other way. “She teaches the torches to burn bright! Her beauty is too precious for this world like a white dove in a flock of crows, she surpasses all the other women. When this dance ends, I’ll note where she stands, and then I’ll touch her hand and bless my ugly one. Did I ever love anyone before this moment? Renounce that love, my eyes! I never saw true beauty until this night.” Aegon looked at his friend and began laughing to himself. “By the Gods, you are pathetic.”
You finished your dance quickly and bid the lord good night. The room was quickly becoming suffocatingly cramped so you moved to a pillar by the back wall. You watched the crowd sway in a trance-like state until you heard a voice from behind. The masked boy gently took your hand in his, “If I offend you by touching your holy hand with my own unworthy one, like two blushing smallfolk, then my lips stand ready to smooth my rough touch with a gentle kiss.”
Even though he wore a mask you could see his handsome features underneath. You couldn’t help but blush, “you are unfair to your hand. Your hand shows proper devotion by touching mine, just as smallfolks reach out to touch the hands of septas. Holding palm to palm is like a smallfolk’s kiss.” Jacaerys squeezed your hand, “Don’t septas have lips? And smallfolk, too?”
Quickly your cheeks became heated... was he flirting with you? Your face blessed his eyes with a smile, “Yes, smallfolk lips they’re supposed to use to pray.” His eyes were soft, and his smile warms your heart. “Oh septa, let lips do what hands do: pray. Grant my prayer or my faith will turn to despair.” Your heart beats with excitement, “Septas don’t move, though they do grant prayers.” He leaned in slowly and his voice turned into a hushed whisper, “then remain still while I pray.”
Your lips touched in the gentlest embrace. You weren’t sure what had driven you to behave like this, but something drove you to him. Mayhaps it was the poetry he used to lure you in that drove you to madness. “Thus, your lips have cleaned the sin from mine.”
You gazed at his charming smile, “Tis’ my lips that have the sin they took from yours.” He pulled your hand to his chest and studied your features, “Sin from my lips? How you goad me on to another crime. Give me back my sin.” It was impossible to resist the taste of affection he granted you. You leaned into his lips, “You kiss as if you’ve studied how.”
Your lips touched once more, this time you basked in their subtle warmth and tender flesh. You tasted sweet, like strawberries freshly picked from the garden. There was never a more perfect being than you, Jacaerys thought.
“Y/N, your mother needs to speak with you.” Your nurse’s voice immediately caused you to pull away. Jacaerys watched you walk away, and curiosity took over his newly healed heart, “What is that girl’s name, nurse?”
“Y/N Targaryen, daughter of the good lady Rhaenyra Targaryen.” Jacaerys stood frozen at her words. What a price I’ve paid, I’ve fallen for the enemy, he thought. Love must be a monster to make him love his worst enemy.
-
Jacaerys couldn’t stand to leave the Targaryen property until he laid eyes upon you one last time. His heart had been trapped here — nowhere else. Besides, he knew what would happen on the way home. His friends would jest at his expense, and he could frankly live without that. They would go on about Baela. Baela? Who was Baela again?
“Jacaerys! Hey Jacaerys!” The boys walked faster than he thought. He hopped behind a stone wall as they quickly approached where he was hiding. “Brother! Where art thou hiding?” Aegon began drunkenly shouting, “Ja-cae-rys! Ja-Ja-Ja-cae-rys!”
In a quick attempt to escape he climbed atop the wall and laid flat as they walked below him. Aemond, the tall lad, nearly saw him. “He’s run off home to avoid us,” Jace listened intently to Luke’s voice. “He’ll be in bed by now.” Aemond turned in in a circle and stood on his toes trying to peer over the wall. “No, I swear I just saw him a moment ago. I’ll bet he climbed over this orchard wall.”
“He’s vanished like a ghost… Let’s see if I can conjure him up.” Jacaerys lay, trying not to make a peep, listening to their drunken giggling. They huddled in a circle until Aegon emerged and began proudly shouting. “I conjure thee, Jacaerys Velaryon, in the name of Baela’s bright eyes!” Aegon spoke in the formal tone of a priest. “By her plush lips. And her round bum.”
Lucerys and Aemond burst out into a fit of giggles. “And quivering thighs! And everything else in that region!” Aegon held a hand in the air, “appear to us! Appear to us in the likeness of… of… yourself!” Lucerys slapped a hand over his mouth, “If he hears you, he’ll be furious.”
“Raising him in the name of his beloved would make him furious? That sounds fair to me,” Aegon placed his hands on his hips. “Let us waste no more time,” spoke Aemond when he had stopped laughing. “Since love is blind, leave him in the dark.” Aegon sighed, “oh well. Goodnight to Jacaerys” Lucerys raised his hands in defeat. “I’m going to bed. You’ll never find someone who doesn’t want to be found.”
-
He was stuck atop the wall he climbed onto. The moon illuminated the dark part of the world he was trapped in. On one side was the orchard and the overwhelmingly large Targaryen mansion. On the other was the alley his friends escaped through. He stared at the mansion and began wondering to himself. You were in there. What were you doing? Were you thinking about him? Have your thoughts been consumed by him as his thoughts had been consumed by you.
A single window lit up and it reminded him so much of the sun. You were his sun and so much more beautiful than the moon. A goddess of the morning, you were. The gods granted his prayers as you opened the doors to your balcony and walked out. It’s my love, he whispered to himself.
Jacaerys wished you could see him sitting there, mayhaps it would be less creepy. You were talking but he couldn’t hear it. Surely, it wasn’t about him. As he stared at you his head was whirling with thoughts. How could someone be so beautiful, like two of the most radiant stars left the sky and told you to take their place. Your eyes shined so brightly in the heavens that you would believe it was daytime.
He watched you place your hand on your cheek and nearly fainted. Oh, how he wished to be a glove on your hand so he could touch that cheek. Jacaerys decided he had to get closer, he jumped off the wall and landed on his feet. He crept through the orchard until he was below your window barely hidden by a tree.
You sighed as you watched the stars paint the night sky. Your mind had been overcome with thoughts of the boy from before. You spoke out loud to yourself to ease your heart. “Jacaerys, Jacaerys, why must you be a Velaryon.” He wanted to reveal himself but chose to stay still and listen.
“It’s only your name that’s my enemy… If you loved me, I could take yours.” You paused and wondered about the strife between your families. “What is a “Velaryon”? Tis’ not a hand nor foot, nor arm or face. What’s in a name anyway? The dragon we call Balerion would still breathe fire no matter its name. Whatever name Jacaerys had would make no difference: he would still be perfect.”
Jace couldn’t handle it anymore. He leapt from behind the bush and lifted his arms. “I’ll take you at your word, just call me ‘love’ and that will be my new name,” he proclaimed.
You stumbled back, it was shocking to hear someone out there. You couldn’t recognize the voice at all. “Who’s out there? Coming here, watching me and eavesdropping like this?” He sighed, “I can’t tell you my name since you hate it so.” The voice was familiar, you leaned over the balcony, excitement lacing your voice. “Is it Jacaerys? Jacaerys Velaryon?”
“Neither” he said, “Since you dislike both names.” You glanced at him, “How and why did you come here? This place is dangerous, considering who you are. If any of my family finds you here your life may be forfeit.” He smiled back at you, “I climbed over the wall with the strength your love bestowed upon me. Do not fret for my safety, your eyes are more powerful than twenty of their swords. Just give me one look and I’ll be invincible.”
“Who told you where to find me?” Jacaerys found it impossible to be serious. “Love told me. I’m no navigator, but even if you were living in Asshai I would find my way to you.”
Your cheeks flushed slightly, “It’s a good thing it’s dark or you would see me blushing… Do you love me?” Jacaerys opened his mouth to respond but you kept rambling on. “Oh Jacaerys, if you do love me, please tell me honestly… Or if you think I’m too fast tell me, and I’ll put on an act and be coy and play hard to get. I’m so in love with you: that’s why I’m being so forward. I should have been all shy, I know, and would have if you hadn’t overheard my real feelings. So, forgive me.”
He rushed to speak, “I swear by the moon…” You leaned over the balcony, “don’t swear by the moon! The moon’s too changeable.” Jacaerys’s brows furrowed in confusion. “What shall I swear by?”
“Swear by yourself and I’ll believe you. No, don’t swear. Although I love you, I don’t like this – making commitments like this. It’s too sudden, too fast. It’s not a good idea.” Jacaerys couldn’t understand what you were doing at all. You said you loved him and now you’re saying it’s not a good idea? He couldn’t let this be. “Are you just going to leave it like that?”
You sighed, “What more could we do tonight?” He paused to think. “Make faithful vows of love.” It was high past your bedtime, and you could hear your nurse calling from the other room. You couldn’t just leave him so quickly after you said all of that. “Just a few more words and I must leave, dear Jacaerys. If you really mean it, and you want to marry me, send me a message tomorrow. I’ll send someone to you, and you’ll tell them where and what time you’ve arranged a wedding.”
You leant over the balcony and reached out towards Jacaerys. “If you’re trifling with me, please leave me alone to wallow in my sorrow.” You turned and ran towards the sound of your nurse calling. He was left dumbfounded, you left without a goodbye and claimed he did not mean it! It felt as if the sun itself had been burned out. Jacaerys turned to leave but your voice carried him back.
“Psst! Jacaerys! Pssst!” He walked over and gazed up at you. “Jacaerys. What time shall I send someone?” He chuckled to himself, “at nine.” You laughed, “It’ll feel like twenty years till then… Oh! I’ve forgotten why I called you back.” He smiled up at you, “I’ll stay here until you remember it.”
“Then I’ll never remember it, so that you’ll stand there forever.” He blushed, “I’ll keep standing here, hoping you’ll keep forgetting. And I’ll forget that I’ve got any other home but this.” You bit your lip and thought about speaking more but the sun peaking over the horizon caught your eye. “It’s almost morning, you must leave now.” You spoke in a hushed whisper. After you gave him one last lingering gaze you took off towards your room.
Jacaerys had healed his heart and found a wife in the same night. He took off out of the orchard and towards the chapel to tell Septon Daeron what had happened.
-
Septon Daeron was up early. The clouds in the southern sky were streaked with light as the night scurried out of the way of the advancing day. He wanted to fill his basket with a mixture of poisonous and healing herbs before the sun came up to dry the dew.
“Morning, Septon,” he shouted from across the field. Jacaerys ran up to him heavily panting. He looked over the boy's features, “Who’s this then, visiting me so early in the morning? Is there something wrong, being up so early?” Jace smiled, “You’re wrong, I had a better rest.”
“Gods pardon you, have you been with Baela?” Jacaerys’s brow furrowed. “Baela? No. I’ve forgotten that name and everything about her.” Septon Daeron smiled, “that’s my boy! But where have you been then?” Jacaerys spoke quickly, “I was dining with my enemies when suddenly one of them wounded me and you’re the one who can heal me.” Daeron looked at him confusingly, “I don’t understand what you’re getting at.”
“To put it plainly, I fell in love with a Targaryen’s daughter, and she with me. You must marry us, and you must do so today.” The Septon stopped dead in his tracks. “By the seven! What a turnabout. Have you forgotten Baela? Am I to understand that young men love with their eyes and not their hearts? You cried buckets for Baela, the sound of your groans is still ringing in my ears.”
“You told me off all the time for loving Baela.” Septon Daeron debated, “For being infatuated, not loving, my boy.” Jace sighed, “And told me to bury my love.” Daeron scoffed, “Not to dig another one up.” Jacaerys grabbed his hands. “Please, don’t reprimand me. The one I love now loves me in return. The other didn’t.”
‘Because she could see you didn’t mean it.’ Friar Lawrence was thinking. Marrying the two young people from the feuding families would be a disaster and he couldn’t possibly agree to it. Or could he? It may be the best way of bringing the families together. It could just be the salvation of Verona. It took him a second to decide. ‘Come on then, you young rascal,’ he said. ‘Come with me. This is one thing I can help you with. This could be the answer: the thing to turn your households’ hatred into love.’
-
“Where in the seven hells could Jacaerys be?” Aegon and Lucerys sat in the shade of the fountain’s wall. It was another dull day in King’s Landing. “Didn’t he come home last night?” Lucerys continued playing in the dust, “Not to fathers house.” Aegon huffed out a laugh, “Who would have thought it? The cold Baela should have the power to drive him crazy.”
“Hey!” Shouted Lucerys as Jacaerys ran towards them. “Here he is, the man himself.” Aegon stood up, “look at him. What a lad.” He bowed, “ Rytsas Jacaerys, sesīr kipi! How’s that for a nice Valyrian greeting? You cheated us well last night.” He stopped in his tracks, “Excuse me?” Aegon wrapped an arm around his shoulder. “Don’t you remember kid? You gave us the slip.”
“I’m sorry Aegon. I had important business.” Aegon didn’t accept that as a proper excuse. They began making fun of each other, exchanging insults. Jacaerys’s friends were pleased to see that he was back to his normal. At least they thought he was normal again. “Isn’t this better than groaning for love? Now you’re sociable – you’re Jacaerys again, the Jacaerys we all know.”
Jacaerys was unable to take the big grin off his face. He kept looking around the square: whenever he saw any movement he looked up. And alas your nurse all dressed up in full skirts and a billowing train appeared in front of him. So, this was the messenger you had sent for him. Jacaerys, and his friends joined him as he ran to greet the Nurse.
Aegon grabbed the train and flapped it up and down for a jest. The Nurse turned and gave him a backhand which sent him flying into the dust. “Good morning, gentlemen,” said the Nurse. “Good afternoon, fair gentlewoman,” mocked Aegon, rubbing his jaw. “Is it afternoon already?” she asked sincerely. “Oh yes, the rude hand of the dial is now right on the cock of noon.”
“Disgusting! You disgusting man.” Aegon and Lucerys burst into giggles. “Can any of you wastrels tell me where I can find young Jacaerys?” Everyone peered over at Jace. “I can tell you, it’s me. I’m the youngest of that name. For better or worse.”
“Well said.” The Nurse grinned. “That was well said? You’re not hard to please, are you?” Aegon grinned wider. The Nurse waved him away and he threw himself on to the ground dramatically, lifted her skirt an inch and peeked under it and received another well aimed slap for that. “If you are he, I’d like a word with you… without the scoundrels you surround yourself with.” She winced and blew on her stinging hand.
“I think she’s going to proposition him,” Lucerys leaned over and whispered to Aegon. “A whore, a whore!” cried Aegon, “Tally ho” The young men came closer and began walking around her. “Leave us alone, children.” She swatted them away like flies. Aegon finally ceased his teasing after she spouted a fair share of insults. “Farewell, old girl,” sang Aegon, walking backwards, bowing. “Lady, lady, lady.”
“Who’s the cheeky one? All those tricks!” She watched as they walked away with a face laced with clear disgust. “Just a fellow who loves the sound of his own voice.” She looked at Jacaerys. “As I was trying to say, I want a word with you. My young lady told me to find you.”
“Tell her to find some way of going to confession this afternoon and there at Septon Daeron’s chapel she’ll be given absolution and married, all at the same time.” He pulled a little bag out of his pocket. “No,” she said as she took the money and hid it in her clothing. “Not a penny. This afternoon, you say? Well, she’ll be there.”
“If you’re loyal to us I’ll pay you well. Goodbye, give your mistress my love.” She grinned, “bless you, bless you, Sir.” Jacaerys shouted as she walked away, “give her my love, Nurse!” The nurse was all smiles twirling the coins in her pocket. “Of course! With pleasure.”
-
You could see by the way the sun hung over the distant hill that it was twelve o’clock. Your Nurse had been gone three hours! She had promised to return in half an hour. Mayhaps she hadn’t found him! No, that couldn’t be. The messengers of love should be as light as thoughts, traveling ten times faster than sunbeams, pushing all doubts and fears away, as light does to threatening shadows.
If your Nurse had any feelings – any passion whatsoever – your message would travel as fast as a tennis ball. The Nurse would be the ball. You would serve and Jacaerys would return it just as fast. But like all old people, the Nurse might as well be dead. You stuck your head out of the window every few seconds, searching the alleyway along which the Nurse would come.
And alas, there she was!
You rushed downstairs and into the garden, meeting the Nurse as a servant was opening the gate for her. You flung yourself at your old friend. “What did he say? Did you find him? Send your servant away.” The nurse didn’t expect to be bombarded with questions as soon as she returned. She turned to her servant and forced him to leave.
“Whew, I‘m exhausted, leave me alone for a while.” She sank down onto a bench and started to fan herself. You wanted to scream with impatience. “Would you just give me your news! Please, Nurse, I beg of you, tell me. Please, dear, dear Nurse, tell me!”
‘Gods, what a hurry you’re in! Can’t you wait a minute. Can’t you see I’m out of breath?’ You rolled your eyes, “How can you be out of breath when you’ve got enough breath to tell me you’re out of breath?” The Nurse shook her head sadly. “Well, all I can say is that you’ve made a bad choice. You’ve no idea how to choose a man. Jacaerys! No, not him, he’s not the one.”
She got up suddenly and yawned. “Off with you now, girl. Get on with it. Have you had your dinner?” You huffed out a breath filled with growing annoyance. “What did he say about us getting married? What about that?”
The Nurse slid back on to the bench and lay, reclining. “Lord, what a headache I’ve got. It’s pounding so hard that it feels as though it’s going to break into twenty pieces.” She tried to stand up. “Oh, my back. Shame on you, sending me all over the place like that. It’ll be the death of me.”
You scoffed, ‘Honestly, I’m very sorry you’re not well. Sweet, sweet, sweet Nurse. What did my love say?” The Nurse heaved a huge sigh. ‘Your love says, like an honest man, and a courteous, and a kind and a handsome, and, I have no doubt, a good-” She stopped and looked towards the house. You pondered if she was doing this to drive you mad! “Where’s your mother?”
You through your hands in the air, “in there, where do you think she is? What a strange answer. Your love says, like an honest man, where is your mother?” The nurse groaned in pain… though it seemed like false pain to you. “Good Gods, my dear young woman, bad tempered with me? Is this the thanks I get for my aching bones? Do your own dirty work from now on.”
“This is impossible, come on, what did Jacaerys say?” The Nurse stopped rubbing her back and took your hands. “Have you got permission to go to confession today?” You nodded excitedly as a smile blessed your face once more.
“Then get yourself to Septon Daeron’s as quickly as you can. There’s a husband waiting there to make you a wife.” She smiled at you genuinely before turning you and patting your bum. “Off with you. I’m going to have my dinner. Go on Hurry.”
-
The chapel was chilled today even though the sun was boiling the ground outside. Jacaerys watched heat waves rising above the wildflowers which grew unhindered across the hillside. Septon Daeron was going on a small tangent about how feelings can lead to disaster and to be careful. But Jacaerys wasn’t listening. He had been watching the brow of the hill and when your head appeared he sprang up and rushed to the door while the Septon was still talking.
You came, running so softly that it was as if you weren’t touching the ground. You didn’t even have a chance to say hello before he embraced you. Jace clung to you like a newborn babe and kissed you again and again. Septon Daeron pulled you apart gently.
“Dear Y/N, if you are as happy as I am and can express it better, then tell me how much happiness you imagine we have when we add it all up.” you laughed and shoved his shoulder, “as usual, you say ridiculous things… People who can count their wealth are poor: my true love has grown so huge that I couldn’t measure half of it.”
“Enough of this nonsense. Let’s get on with it. Follow me.” The Septon forced you two to refrain from embracing each other during the ceremony; thankfully it was quick. You both were told to sit on your knees and pray before vows were exchanged. You pretended to be praying as you snuck glances at your soon to be husband.
Daeron told you both to stand, neither of you had cloaks to exchange so instead you skipped right to the vows. It was painfully obvious to Daeron how ill prepared and immature the two lovers he was marrying were. A subtle feeling of dread washed over him staring at the pair.
You intertwined your hands with each other upon command. “With this kiss, I pledge my love. And take you for my lady wife.” You smiled bigger than you ever had before, “With this kiss, I pledge my love. And take you for my lord husband.” The Septon cleared his voice and declared, “one flesh, one heart, one soul, now and forever.”
Your lips crashed into each other in a searing embrace. A short-lived embrace as Daeron cleared his throat behind you. Your happiness was short lived as you both were quickly pulled apart.
A plan was already in motion. Once the sun set and the moon rose over the horizon, the nurse would sneak out once again and inform your beloved it was safe. Then you would let a ladder fall from your balcony which he would climb up. It was the same place in the orchard where he watched you the other night.
You would finally be able to consummate the marriage, and no one would be able to separate you. Not your parents, cousins, church, or state. Only the gods would be able to tear you from your true love… Soon you would realize how cruel the Gods could be.

Let Me Help You
Luke Morrow x Wife!Reader
A/N: I looooved this movie, so I had to write a fic for Luke! In this fic, the reader is his real wife (no fake marriage thing)! Enjoy!
Summary: When Luke gets home after a long day, a scary situation leads to the couple having a heart to heart.
Warnings: none!
(y/e/c) - your eye color
Beep. Beep. Beep.
Luke woke at the repetitive sound of the alarm clock beside him that read 7:00am. Running a hand down his face, he silently peeled back the covers and grabbed his brace from the side of the bed. He worried about the sound from the velcro straps waking you up, but little did he know that you were already awake, a headache waking you up at 5 that morning.
With a suppressed grunt, he stood up and reached for his cane, slowly walking towards the bathroom. He got ready in silence before walking back into their bedroom.
"I love you, baby. I'll see you later," he whispered, leaning down and kissing her temple.
(Y/n) rolled over to face him, smiling softly. "I love you, too. Have fun working out. Don't overdo it."
Mirroring her smile, he nodded and said another 'I love you' as he closed the door behind him. The second the door shut, (y/n) sunk back into the pillows, sighing as she messaged her temples. At that moment, she knew that day would be a long one.
The drive home wasn't short enough for (y/n) after her miserable day at work. Since that morning, her migraine had only worsened, slowly becoming debilitating as the day went on. She probably had checked her watch over a hundred times before her shift was over.
As she walked through the door, she was attacked by Peaches, the golden retriever's barks increasing the ever-present pounding in her head.
"Hey, girl," (y/n) cooed quietly, scratching behind Peaches' ear lovingly. "I've missed you."
After popping a few ibuprofen...or five, she went through the cabinets in search of ingredients to use for dinner, even though she felt nauseous herself. She knew when Luke came come that he would be starving after a day of physical therapy and his own training to get back in shape.
Even though she felt like she could fall over any second, she continued her search. Deciding on chicken alfredo penne, she started the noodles and began making the sauce when the shrill ringing of her phone pierced her ears.
White hot pain filled her vision and she shut her eyes tightly as she answered the phone.
"Hello."
"Hey, (y/n/n). I just wanted to let you know that I'm on my way home."
Her headache seemed to dull slightly at the sound of her husband's voice. "Okay. I'm making dinner right now, but I'll see you in a few. Love you."
Luke moaned quietly at the thought of food. "That sounds amazing. I love you, too. Bye."
A few minutes had passed when Luke's keys jangled in the door. (Y/n) was too focused on the pan in front of her and simply staying upright that she didn't hear him call out to her. She gasped slightly when he wrapped his arms around her stomach, resting his chin on her head.
Leaning down, he kissed her temple. "Hey, sweetheart. I missed you today."
(Y/n) turned around in his arms, thankful that he was there to ground her. The second he saw the dark circles under her eyes and the pale complexion that covered her normally vibrant face, he knew something was wrong. With furrowed brows, he cupped eyes her cheeks and looked deeply into her eyes. In her (y/e/c) irises, he saw complete exhaustion and something else behind them that he couldn't quite put his finger on.
"Are you feeling okay?" he asked, rubbing her hair gently.
(Y/n) nodded, willing her eyes to stay open after another wave of nausea hit her. "Yeah, I'm fine," she whispered. "I'm just tired."
Although he was unconvinced at her feeble attempt to convince him, he didn't push her. "Alright. How about I finish off dinner? You go lay down, babe."
"You shouldn't be standing up for long periods, Luke."
Luke shook his head. "I'll be fine. Go," he whispered.
(Y/n) pecked his cheek, bending down to pet Peaches. "Your daddy is just the best husband ever, isn't he, Peaches?"
Luke's laugh seemed to ease some of the tension in her head, but when she stood up, the world started to sway under her feet. Darkness danced around her vision as she tried to stay upright. Just before she succumbed to unconsciousness, she was able to breathlessly call out.
"Help," she muttered, causing Luke to whip around just in time to see her limp body falling to the floor.
His heart stopped beating. "(Y/n)!"
Reaching out for her, he cursed when he couldn't get there in time because of his leg. She landed with a thud on their hardwood floors, and he was thankful that her head didn't hit hard. Luke quickly slid down next to her, ignoring the pain in his leg and pulling her to sit up against his chest.
"(Y/n)!" he cried, rubbing her cheeks. "Baby, wake up. Come on!"
His eyes began to burn as he held back tears at (y/n)'s unconscious form in his arms. "Please wake up. Please."
A few moments later, her eyes fluttered open, and Luke let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. He quickly wiped a tear that leaked out of his eye before she could see it.
Looking around them in confusion, she asks, "What happened?"
"Y-You passed out, (y/n/n). How are you feeling?"
"Dizzy," she responds, holding her head in her hands.
Luke scans her face. "What's really going on?"
With a sigh, she closed her eyes. "My migraines are back."
"(Y/n), why didn't you tell me?" he asks quietly, pulling her close to cradle her head on his chest.
"I just didn't think it was important," she answered, looking at the floor.
"It is important."
"Well, you're in so much pain from your leg and I just have a stupid headache."
Gently moving so he could face her, he put a finger under her chin to lift it. "(y/n)," he started, not breaking eye contact. "You are everything to me. Don't ever compare your pain to mine. Just because I'm hurting doesn't mean you have to always be okay. Remember what you always tell me?"
She nodded.
"It's okay to let people help you. To let me help you. So let me take care of you, please."
Sighing, she nodded before pecking his lips softly. "I love you, Luke."
"I love you, too, (y/n). Now let's get you to bed." He whispered, helping her up. "I would carry you if I could."
She weakly smiled at him, leaning on him for stability as he led her to their bedroom. "I know, commando. I know."

REQUESTED BY ANON // Hiii!!! Could I be able request a jax teller x reader! The reader is a police and she and Jax have a secret relationship and Gemma goes home to Jax and ses the reader there and you Recife the rest❤️ Thank you beautiful🥰🥰
“We have a noise complaint at Teller-Morrow again” Hale said.
Rolling your eyes at your phone as a text came through from Jax, locking your phone you pushed yourself up from the desk.
“I got it” You nodded, grabbing your car keys.
“Want me to join you partner?” Luke asked.
“Nah I got this” You nodded “It's only a noise complaint, and let's be honest you don’t have the skills to deal with samcro yet”
Grabbing your coffee, phone and radio you headed to your squad car.
The drive to the lot was quiet and it didn’t take you long to get there. Pulling into the lot you parked your car before grabbing your coffee and climbed out of your car.
“And wha do we owe this pleasure lass?” Chibs laughed draping his arm over your shoulder.
“Meh noise complaint” You shrugged “so I dunno maybe you can just tone it down for me please”
“Aye only fur you lass” Chibs smirked.
“Is blondie about, I need to speak to him about something” You smiled.
“JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAXXX” Chibs shouted, bursting your eardrum.
“A warning would be nice” You scoffed rubbing your ear. Before he could reply Jax appeared, a smirk appearing on his face as he saw you stood there. “Need to speak to you Teller”
“Come on then darlin’ lets go somewhere more quiet” He nodded hearing the seriousness in your voice.
“Roof?” You asked, making him nod at you.
The thing was yes you were part of Charming PD but you and Jax were also dating but no one knew. Even though you were police, you were more on Jax side and constantly fed information down from the top.
“I didn’t expect to see you tonight” Jax whispered as he offered you a smoke before linking his fingers with yours.
“Got some news and you need to hear this” You sighed.
“Whats up babygirl?” Jax said as he brushed his thumb over your hand.
“FBI are in town” You sighed “Stahl is looking at using RICO against you guys”
“Shit” Jax sighed as he inhaled on his smoke.
“I will try and get as much info as I can and feed it to you” You whispered leaning your head against his shoulder.
“I appreciate it darlin’ has anyone clocked onto our relationship yet” He asked
“Now I just play it as my partner doesn’t know how to manage you guys” You laughed. “I best get back to the station before they start asking questions”
“You still coming round tomorrow night?” Jax asked kissing your cheek “I’m thinking of cooking a nice meal and a movie”
“Want me to get the fire brigade on standby?” You laughed.
“Watch it you” He smirked, kissing you softly again.

You were fresh out the shower, and had just finished moisturizing. You wanted to tell the world about how you felt about Jax but it wouldn’t help with your job.
Pulling Jax’s SAMCRO shirt on you quickly braided your hair before making your way downstairs.
“Mmmm something smells amazing baby” You grinned as you wandered into the kitchen, what you didn’t expect was Gemma to be sat at the kitchen table with a coffee in hand.
“Baby why is the cop in your house wearing nothing but your shirt” She said.
This was it, the secret was out.
“I can explain ma” Jax said turning the stove off “So Y/N is my girlfriend and yes she is a cop”
“I cannot believe this you are literally getting into bed with a cop” Gemma snapped “What were you thinking?”
“Ma don’t start, we met when she was off duty and then I learned she is under Hale” Jax nodded “But where do you think we get all our intel from and are prepared like for the raid that Stahl did today”
Gemma pushed herself to her feet and walked over to you.
“You been feeding us info? She asked.
“Yeah and I try and make sure I am the only one dealing which complaints ect” You nodded feeling nervous.
“You could lose your job for this” Gemma said.
“I know” You nodded “But what I feel for Jax is true and honestly some of the bullshit charges that they are trying to pin on everyone and now with the RICO case I thought someone should be on SAMCRO’s side”
“You aren’t trying to screw Jax over are you? You aren’t getting him to trust you and then you shift all over him”
“Honestly Gemma I couldn’t have the heart to fuck him over” You nodded making eye contact with Jax “What I feel for your son I have never felt with anyone else, I couldn’t care less about what he has done or the fact that he has killed all I care about is how he makes me feel”
“Well then, I don’t need to worry” Gemma smiled “I will let you enjoy your evening”
As soon as the front door was closed Jax wandered over to you with a goofy smile on his face, placing his hands on your hips.
“So I make you feel things no one else has made you feel” He smirked pulling you as close to him as he could.
“Maybe” You giggled.
“Well how about I make you feel these things right now?” He said lowly brushing his lips against yours.
“What about dinner?” You asked.
“Fuck dinner, I want you”

How Could You Know - Luke Morrow
Part One Series Masterlist Main Masterlist
Part one is here baby !! please enjoy and leave feedback.
As I walked out of the Drug Rehab Centre in Oceanside, I was greeted by the sun shining in my face and my sister Camille holding a bouquet of flowers, her olive skin shining in the heat of the California sun.
“Its good to have you back, I've missed you so much.” She pulled me into a bone crushing hug before she helped me load my bags in the trunk of her beat up old car.
“I’ve missed you too. It’s been so long since I've seen the outside world.” We hopped into the cab of her car as she handed me the flowers she had gotten me.
“It really has been such a long time,” she pulled out of the parking lot and headed in the direction of her house on the beach. Camille was a hard-working bartender and business owner. She owns her own dive bar with the help of her business partner Billy. With her income she was able to afford a lavish home with beach views.
Once we pulled up, she grabbed my bags and unlocked her front door for me to follow her in.
“So, I do have to work tonight, but after the girls have finished on stage, you’ll have me all night long. We can have a few drinks and then get food on our way home and watch crappy movies.” I nodded at her as she showed me the room that she had converted for me to live in. She nodded as I sat on the bed in the centre of the room.
I watched as she backed out of the room. I looked around at my new room, everything seemed new, and I didn’t know how to take it all in. I had been in rehab for the last 12 months everything was so different for me now. I had been sober for a year now no more drugs running through my veins. Camille and I had lost our mother 6 months ago and I couldn’t even get a day pass to attend her funeral. I pulled out a photo frame from my bag. In the picture two little girls smiled up at me with an older woman behind the girls. My beautiful mother was the one who made me get help. She was the reason that I pushed myself to get better so I could come home to her. And now I’ll never be able to see her beautiful smile again. I watched a small tear drip onto the frame as I placed it on the side table and started to unpack my bag.
An hour later Camille popped her head in to see how I was going. I was sitting on the bed with a book in my hands and looked up.
“You ready to head out?” I nodded and pulled on my leather jacket as I followed her out the door. I noticed the bar was already fairly full when we walked in, and I pulled my jacket tighter around my body. Camille squeezed my shoulder before heading behind the bar. I took a seat at the bar and she handed me a glass of coke. I spun around to watch band play. The lead singer was Cassie Salazar, she used to babysit me and my best friend Frankie Mabuthia, I watched fondly as she took over the stage, she was going to be big one day. She used to teach me piano when she would babysit me, I don’t play anymore but I wish I did and I wish I still could. I twirled the straw in my drink as Billy pulled the cords out of amp effectively shutting off the mic as Cassie was introducing the band. She and Nora, the other waitress, made their way over to me and the bar.
“Omg! Callie! Your back? When did you get back?” Cassie pulled up off my seat and into a crushing hug.
“I got out today, Cam had to work so you could rock the stage, then were going to get greasy food and watch crappy movies when we get home.” I waved to Nora as Cassie tied her apron around her waist.
“Cassie, your favourite people are here.” Nora nodded to the group of Marines that just walked into the bar. I rolled me eyes a long with Cassie as she and Nora made their way over to get their orders. I looked back down at my drink waiting for Cam to come out from the back so we could get on with this girls night we had planned.
“Cal! Get your ass over here.” I looked up at my name and noticed Cassie standing with the Marines gesturing me over to them. I groaned but got off my seat leaving my drink and walked the few steps to the group. Cassie was talking animatedly to a dark-skinned man with a buzz cut, as I approached he turned around and I jumped into his arms. His arms wound around my back as my legs wrapped around his hips. I held him close tears brimming my eyes.
“It’s so good to see you too Ope.” I pulled away from him and jumped down suddenly remembering we weren’t the only ones here. Frankie pulled me to his side as he gestured around to the boys. “These are the guys, were shipping off to Iraq in two weeks.”
“Since when have you been a Marine?” I asked him as I punched his shoulder.
“6 months, after your, after everything I wanted to go out and do something, be someone other than just another taxpayer. We’ve been in training ever since. You look good, it helped you a lot.” I nodded and looked down, being reminded of where I had been and what I had missed. “Guys, this is Calliope, my very best friend in the whole world. Cassie used to babysit us.” I watched as Cassie blushed and looked around at the other guys. My eyes followed hers and my heart leapt into my throat. I pushed Frankie away and took a step back. It felt like I had seen a ghost, a ghost of my past I was hoping to forget. My hands started to shake as I continued to back up. Johno’s face flew through my mind and as I felt the cold the concrete of the bar on my knees I felt a soft pair of large hands gently take hold of my shoulders.
“Callie, hold your breath, your having a panic attack.” His sweet deep voice floated through my ears, the breakup of music to hear his voice helped bring me back from my panic. My green eyes flicked up to his hazel ones, tears were freely running down my face now. I looked over his shoulder at his Marine buddies. I noticed Frankie was standing right behind Luke. His expression one of realisation. I looked back at Luke willing my tears to stop but looking at him just brought back memories, memories I had tried so hard to forget, to push away. The way he made me feel in the last year or two before he went away. And he was here sober as well by the looks of things. Luke helped me up off the ground and helped me walk back over to the others. Cassie had brought over drinks for everyone before one of the bigger Marines spoke up.
“So, were good enough to save your ass but not good enough to touch it?” I watched as she walked away shaking her head. Luke handed me to Frankie and made to follow Cassie. I felt something deep in the pit of my stomach wake up before I turned my head back to Frankie and the guys. I wiped away my tears and looked at each one of them. Without Luke near me it was easier to not break down.
“I need names for whose ass I'm kicking if this one comes home injured.” I joked poking franking in the chest. Camille showed up and Frankie left me to say hello to my sister.
The blonde guy to my left who looked no older than 20 spoke up first.
“Brandon.”
“Armando.” The who made the ass comment. I nodded and took a seat at the table.
“Look you two better watch those two for me, if you come home and they don’t there will be hell to pay and I can promise you no matter what kind of training you’ve had you will not get away.” I threatened as I got closer to them. They swallowed loudly before nodding as Luke, Frankie and my sister all walked back up to us.
“You ready to get out of here?” Cam asked me, I nodded and waved at the boys as I followed my sister out.

How Could You Know-Part Three
Part Three Series Masterlist Main Masterlist
Warning; Mentions of death and overdose
Callie P.O.V
Camille and I made our way back home after grabbing tacos.
“So, was that Luke I saw back at the bar?” she asked me as she handed me my taco and a drink.
“Yes, it was Luke. He's a Marine now, with Frankie. He looks better now too.”
“Yeah, he looks good.” We both lent back in our chairs on the balcony as I watched the waves crash to shore. I silently chewed on my taco as I thought over tonight’s events. I hadn’t ever planned on seeing Luke again. But here I was thinking about him like we hadn’t both gotten sober. Like our pasts had never gotten as bad as they were. “You should reach out to him, if he's sober, try to reconnect. You guys had a great friendship once, see if that’s still there.” Camille had her eyes closed as she spoke. I hummed in agreeance and looked back out at the waves. “I get it, you don’t want to talk about him.”
“Don’t want to talk about him? Everything went to shit when I knew him. And then to top it all off I had to go and fucking fall in love with him.” she looked at me sideways before she turned fully towards me. “The whole time I was with Johno all I wanted was to be with Luke. Doing drugs together was euphoric, I felt a high around him I had never felt before. Tonight, when I was having the panic attack, he brought me out of it. But I could see the fear in his eyes. He remembered when he found me passed out in Johno’s bathroom. Johno nowhere to be found, he stayed with me that night, then he just disappeared. I haven’t spoken to him or seen him for two years Cami, I can’t do it again. I'm scared I'm going to relapse. I can’t go back there.” My hands started to shake, she reached over to take them in her own shaking ones.
“You will get through this. We will get through this, together. We are all we have in this world now. I'm not going to let you go back there, I won’t let you go near Johno again and I won’t push you to go anywhere near Luke if you don’t want to.” I nodded at her as she squeezed my hands gently. “Do you want to watch movies?”
“No, I think I'm going to get some sleep, I'm exhausted after my panic attack. Raincheck?” She nodded, and I got up from my seat and took my rubbish with me.
I made it into bed with thoughts swimming through my mind, even though I was exhausted my mind wouldn’t shut off. I had been out for less than 24 hours and already my life felt like it was going off the deep end. The most terrifying thought I had was what was Johno going to do once he found out I was out now? I couldn’t go back down the path that led me to rehab, I was clean and sober now. And it terrified me that all of that could change in an instant if I let my guard down.
The next morning I woke up to Camille knocking on my bedroom door before she popped her head in.
“You have a visitor.” She sang quietly. “Its Frankie.”
I groaned but got out of bed, I didn’t bother changing and walked out to see Frankie in the living room.
“My parents are throwing me a going away party. Do you think you could make it?” I threw my arms around his neck and pressed my body against his.
“Of course I’ll be there, how could I say no to my best friend?” he pulled me in tighter.
“You get to finally meet Riley, oh this is going to be so good. But I got to go I’ll see you later?” I nodded to him and walked him back out to his car. I really need to get myself a new phone.
Camille had made us breakfast and we sat in silence for a little while.
“Cami, do you think we could get me a new phone today, my old one broke while I was gone and I don’t want everyone to have to come here to talk to me.”
“Yes of course, why didn’t I think of that before. Lets get ready then well go shopping, well have a girly day before you have to head off to Frankie’s party later.” We raced each other to get ready and I beat her as I sat and waited on the sofa in the living room.
Our first stop was the Apple store, where Camille picked up the new iPhone 13 pro max for me and paid for it while I tried to fight her telling her I didn’t need one of the newest ones. I thanked her profusely as she dragged me to a nail salon. The rest of the morning was spent having some much-needed sister time.
“Oh shoot, can you drop me off at Frankie’s?” I asked Camille when I looked at the time as we stuffed our faces with loaded fries. She also looked at the time and took a quick sip of her soda before she nodded. We collected our bags and took off in search for her car.
I knocked on Frankie’s door as Camille pulled out of his driveway waving to me.
“The government that made my mom pay taxes for ten years, before giving her the right to vote? That government?” I could hear Cassie talking and so I just made my way inside the house. The door was unlocked, and when I stepped inside I saw Cassie stepping closer to Luke and Frankie sitting at the kitchen bench, which amused at the two currently having an argument.
“so your mom was living here illegally then?” Luke had his arms crossed as his feet shoulder width apart, something new I had noticed about him, but maybe Cassie just brought out his tough guy law abiding citizen look. Frankie saw me and nodded at me while they fought. I stayed in the living room and watched on.
“don’t tell me you’re a resident of southern California that does not see how this state was built off the backs of illegal immigrants. Like my mom who crossed that border, lived here for ten years, worked their asses off for ten years, paying taxes for your government, and were treated like less than citizens. Yeah, I will proudly rip off the government. You got anything else to say Commando?” Cassie stepped back from Luke and Frankie chuckled. Luke’s eyes shot up from Cassie and looked at Frankie.
“Dude, this is a trap.” Luke’s eyes briefly flitted to me before squaring in on Cassie again. “This will not end well for you.” Luke went to turn away to walk outside.
“I was just trying to help.”
“Mmm.” Cassie hummed as Luke turned around completely. His eyes found me, and he nodded his head outside so I would follow him. I had no idea why Cassie was at Luke’s throat, and I really had no interest in joining her crusade to piss off Luke. So, I followed him outside waving to Cassie as I did. “Thanks for the help.”
“So, you wanted me out of there why? What’s Cassie talking to Frankie about?” I questioned him crossing my arms.
“She wants them to get married so she can get health insurance to pay off her medical debt. Which is fraud, I can’t let Frankie do this to himself. He’ll ruin his life.”
“Since when did you become miss goody two shoes?” I asked him leaning up against the side of the house.
“Since the day I saw you passed out on the bathroom floor from an overdose two years ago.” My eyes shot up from the ground as I looked deeply into his eyes.
“That’s where you went?” he nodded crossing his arms and looking down at his feet. “A nurse told me you were there when I first got there but when I woke up you were nowhere to be found.” He looked up at me again as tears gathered in my eyes.
“I got the help I needed, now I owe him $15,000 after I had to pay my dad off.” He looked away from me when he told me he owed Johno money. “When did you go? What caused your turn around?”
“When mom found me with a needle hanging out of my arm and me passed out in the bathtub she took me straight to a hospital, after they discharged me with only a minor overdose, she admitted me into the drug rehab centre in oceanside. She’s the reason ii got sober, and I didn’t even get the chance to thank her or say goodbye to her.” Tears fell freely down my face as I recounted the broken look on my mom’s face when I came too after she found me. “They wouldn’t even give me a day pass to go to her funeral. I didn’t get to say goodbye to her Luke.” He walked closer to me and when he was within reaching distance, he pulled my smaller frame into his rock-hard body. He cradled my head gently as I cried into his shirt.
“Shhh, it’s going to be okay. I’ll take you to see her if you’d like?”
“I don’t think she would want to see you, Luke. She blamed you for a lot of everything that happened.” I sniffled and he chuckled.
“Then I’ll just deal with the wrath of Ms. Montgomery, wouldn’t be the first time. Come on, I don’t want to see if Frankie agrees to this anyway.” I nodded and let him lead me back through the house. Frankie and Cassie going quiet as we walked through.
“We’re going to see my mom.” I spoke to Frankie and didn’t look at Cassie. He nodded and Luke placed a gentle hand on the small of my back and lead me out to Frankie’s car.
We got to the cemetery shortly after leaving Frankie’s, I frantically looked down the first row of graves before turning to Luke.
“I don’t even know where she is.” The tears hadn’t stopped as he rushed up to me and pulled me into him again.
“I know where she is. When Frankie told me, I spent all day here looking for her. I needed to apologise to her for everything I had put you through to get to the point of you going away.” He took my hand and lead me to a grave towards the back. When I saw her name on the headstone I fell to my knees. Luke followed and gathered me up into his arms again. I gently pushed him away and crawled up to her headstone. My hand traced her name etched into the stone.
“Hi mommy, I miss you so much. I wish you could see where I am now,” I took a shaky breath as I wiped the tears rolling down my cheeks. “I’ve been sober for 12 months now. Frankie’s leaving for Iraq soon, and I feel like I only just got back and got him back. I don’t know how I'm going to survive if he doesn’t come back.” Another shaky deep breath ignoring Luke’s presence now. “I found Luke again too, he's been sober for two years, you should see him now. He's a Marine, like his old man. Who knew Luke Morrow could be a Marine?” I gave a watery chuckle. “I miss you everyday, I'm sorry I couldn’t come say goodbye, they wouldn’t let me out. But I'm here to say goodbye now. I’ll never forget you and everything you’ve ever done for me growing up and everything you still do for me now.” I chanced a glance behind me and remembered Luke. “Luke’s here too, he brought me here. Said he looked for a whole day to find you when Frankie told him. I hope you forgave him, because I have. He saved me that day you know. I could have died but he didn’t let me.” I watched Luke smile at me as he knelt down beside me and took my hand gently in his. “Goodbye mom, I love you so much.” I choked out a sob and turned my head onto Luke’s shoulder, he wrapped both of his strong arms around me and let me cry into his shoulder.
