alright here's my current tales of protagonist rankings.
Can't get more based than Yuri, the guy with highest ship potential, sick sounding VA, sick moves, king of witty remarks, backflips and RESOUNDING CRY OF VICTORY in his victory quotes, adopted a dog with his boyfriend... yeah
Ludger's comedic potential hits the roofs. Hit me with that 'I'm not wearing clothes in my Chromatus outfit' and Nova confession to Julius reveal shocked sprite. His design is amazing I love the tie and suspenders and the black highlights because his dumb ass thought it would look cool. Loves to backflip, especially in that one skit to distract Jude. Unfortunately he's placed into a world where he has to dating sim the Xillia 1 cast lmao like a separate game for the Xillia 1 epilogue and his story would have been better (though his story sure has fillers with the Waymarker collections...). You know what, his story could have been a gacha game. Isn't it literally FGO?
Jude lives in an unfortunate world where he, as an illegally practising doctor without a medical license, is 15. HOW. I swear he's at least mentally 18. Immediate simpery for this girl he just met with an incredibly thin waistline aside, he really said THESE HANDS and went to punch the living daylights out of god. Also the way he trusts Alvin when Alvin spends every 5 minutes betraying them is so fucking funny like yeah he sure would hook up with a guy like Alvin. Also he hits on everyone. He's the harem king. Milla, Elize, Leia, Muzet, Aska, Ludger, he has them all.
Idk what you're talking about if you don't say Lloyd isn't cool. Man wields two swords in battle because he thinks they have twice the power and renders Kratos (the GOAT) speechless, flips his swords up and down in his victory pose, dude tries to feed a grandma and gets kicked out of the village because of it, the tries to scam Colette into giving her hot/cold/hot coffee, etc. etc...
Luke gets the most points for having the most memorable scenes. 'It's not my fault!' 'I don't want to die!' 'Now is all I have' like bro how could you not hug him and tell him it's alright? His personal struggle as a clone and how he grows to face Asch is the most fascinating thing to see in Abyss. (Also Tear is a jerk and Natalia is mid and Anise shouldn't exist and Ion fucking sucks and Guy and Jade are GOATS...)
Sorey is just a regular guy. Just a good guy. Really outstanding pure vessel. Go save the world, with your boyfriend and your other ghost friends, boy.
Unnaturally thin waist aside, Milla is a character that sets out to do what she has to do and doesn't look back, and as the unwavering pillar of the cast she does her job perfectly. But like that's all you can say about her.
Velvet is edgy and her whole character arc is about making you feel sorry for her and wanting to hug her 👍 I haven't finished playing the game but that's the vibes I got. At least she did what she set out to do, which is to kill the inheritor of Savage Wolf Fury.

once again thinking abt long haired luke..... very interesting individual
#libra.txt#currently thinking abt. his room in the manor#his messy bed. giant record player (and yet the music box house is strange to them?)#because i mean. that thing next to his bed. that's gotta be a record player right. it's got the big gramophone lookin speaker thing#and what looks like a record. anyway#the massive windows. the painting of the ocean#the huge portrait of van(?) above his sword(s)#like it's a small room. but it actually has so much personality#and luke talks about how it's super boring being locked in the manor#if it weren't for sword training all he'd do is eat sleep and hang out with guy#but he's familiar and friendly with most of the servants (even though he can also be quite haughty and rude) (they still treat him kindly)#like right at the start of the game. you can see two maids cornering guy and if you interact with them. it's interesting!#and this is just in the first 15 minutes of the game!!#yes luke is a spoiled brat who thinks of little outside of himself#but he's still very interesting.#and when you remember he's only seven.... it's not so unusual. yeah he's still a jerk but. he's a child#(also funny to imagine if he was actually in a seven year old's body. but swearing and thinking he's cool.)#the scene when they first go to the cheagle woods with ion..... <3#luke and ion are such good friends i really love them#also how ion treats luke with such kindness and really wants to be friends. gives him his first capacity core#(BUT ION I'M ON TO YOU. the capacity core meant haughty. was this a joke ion????)#but again. luke is seven. the scene when he first kills a person is so much more emotional when you remember that.#or imagine actual child killing someone. nobody should have to do that#and yet that's their world! tear is fifteen and has already made peace with killing people!#guy has definitely killed people before the start of the game.#and anise. oh anise. you're thirteen. been a fon master guardian for two years. eleven. how long have you been a soldier?#this has gotten so out of hand. wow#anyway i remember bond saying they could write an essay about long haired luke once. i can't stop thinking augh#so many people say that luke feels so different before and after his haircut. and he did change! a lot!#idk idk. just thinking a lot.

Horizon AU Part 1
Horizon AU Part 6
Gravesinger Ion
Ion's lived a sheltered, comfortable existence in Plainsong.
The son of a member of the Chorus, he's been training from a young age to play a prominent role in the community, with the hope that he too might some day be elected and help lead the Utaru. Which is largely why he's become a Gravesinger so young, though he also has a genuine love of music and respect for the spirit of his community. Outwardly at least, Ion is at peace with his life. He doesn't long for the power being a member of the Chorus will bring him, but he's content to use his position to bring good to the Utaru. Some think him naive, feeling his youth protected him from understanding the worst of the Red Raids, and his sunny trust even of outlanders is too much of a liability.
His younger twin brother Sync was rather neglected by their parents in that they made no plans whatsoever for his future. Having little musical talent and less interest in farming, Sync exists on the fringes of Utaru society, sometimes living in Plainsong, but more often traveling to the border communities. Ion worries about him, suspecting that some day he'll vanish into the outlands somewhere, but the brothers only rarely get along, so it's not as if Sync has confided in him.
When four strangers roll into Plainsong, Ion takes an immediate interest. Luke comes from the Sacred Lands of the east, Guy from the Claim up north, and Natalia from the Sundom, the erstwhile enemy of the Utaru. But he's most intrigued by Anise's stories of life near Ban-Ur. Ion can hardly imagine a life of such severe survival, but when she tells them about the isolationist, cult-like hold the head shaman has on her werak, he grows troubled. Very quickly, he starts to realize how little he understands about the world. He's always been told that to lead the Utaru, he only needs to understand the Utaru. But he's too smart not to doubt that.
Luke's story about searching to find his own twin brother resonates so deeply with Ion that it settles him. The Chorus refuses to allow Ion to leave Plainsong, but under cover of darkness, Luke and his friends spirit him away. They all agree that, as a fighter, his usefulness might be limited, but Anise insisted, and honestly none of them could bring themselves to say no to him.
Tumblr media
In the Horizon world, Ion fights. That is, he throws bombs. But he's very pleased to be able to contribute during battle, and he's good at patching the others up after the dust clears.
I really, really like how Ion came out. Initially he was going to be Banuk along with Anise, because he'd be such a cute Banuk, but he makes an incredibly cute Utaru. And I think it makes sense. The Utaru are musical, and the Order of Lorelei is a religion built around a nebulous demigod thing of sound. I tend to just assume Seventh Fonists are naturally musical, and with Ion being one of the strongest, now he can be a Gravesinger. I'm thinking his dyed green hair has some religious significance to the Utaru, though I don't know why Sync also has it. Maybe in Horizon Sync has a more natural hair color.
As for design, he’s basically wearing his Fon Master outfit, though now made from woven grasses. His little tunic thing is shorter, he’s got Utaru woven biker shorts like Zo, and he’s lost the stockings. Originally I gave him Zo’s Gravesinger face paint, but instead he got his own design, based on an inverted Order of Lorelei tuning fork symbol. I also decided he should have freckles.
Ion's one of the names that translates into Horizon with no problem. The Utaru have very short, simple names, so Ion fits right in.

Obey me! x Avatar the last airbeder/ Avatar the legend of Korra
I thought about what elements the Obey me characters would be able to bend in the universe of ATLA/ ATLOK, so here´s a list of their elements, sub elements and their preferred fighting style!
If you don´t know the show, here´s a short list of the elements (although I highly recommend watching the series they´re amazing)
Fire bending (can be trained into lightning- & combustion-bending)
Water bending (can be trained into ice-, steam-, plant- and blood-bending)
Air bending (can be trained to fly or project your spirit)
Earth bending (can be trained into metal- or lava-bending and for seismic sense)
Have fun reading and let me know what you think!!
Lucifer
Element: Fire (white-blue flames)
Sub element: Lightning
Fighting style: mainly fighting with lightning, it's more elegant and deadly, and those words are basically the definition of papa Luci. Legends say that once when Lucifer was angered enough, he casted a whole storm to let lightning go down on the whole land.
His white-blue fire is known to be the hottest type of flames, with Lucifer being able to keep their heat on this level for as long as the flames are burning.
"Fire as well as lightning shall be treated with care and used with dignity. Also, if you keep your cool in battle, you can watch as your enemy gets toasted by your attacks, and I personally very much enjoy this satisfaction."
Mammon
Element: Air
Sub element: mild form of flight
Fighting style: "Korra style", basically the more modern way to airbend as shown in the legend of Korra: specifically more forward and for combat (attacking and approaching enemies), for dragging enemies through the air as Mammon pleases.
Although flight is an extremely rare and spiritual ability, somehow the goof Mammon is able to fly short distances without a glider or other tools.
"Livin' like a true air nomad? Nah, that ain't like me. How am I able to fly, then? Well, I'm THE great Mammon after all!"
Levi
Element: Water
Sub element: Ice, steam
Fighting style: prefers to attack with waves of pure water, but when his envy kicks in, he might switch to freezing it (when self-loathing) or boiling it (when angered in envy).
As he loves being engulfed in water, he has perfected moving and diving in the ocean.
"I like being in the ocean... The water wraps around you like a tight but soft hug... A-ah, n-nothing, I would never say anything cheesy like this...!!"
Satan
Element: Fire
Sub element: Combustion
Fighting style: much like his anger can occur in explosive rushes, so does his element as combustion bending shoots a beam of explosive energy at whoever Satan wants to see dead. The explosions become larger the angrier he is, but also harder to control.
Yes, he has this fancy third eye tattoo where he shoots the explosions out of, period.
Technically very skilled in bending fire but dislikes using it (as it reminds him of Lucifer)
"What are you staring at? Do I look this strange to you? Well, if it's that irritating to be near me, I could blast you into pieces."
Asmo
Element: Water
Sub element: Plant bending
Fighting style: not really into fighting, but if he does he uses vines with thorns to whip his enemies asses (preferably in the literal sense hehe). He keeps the vines entagled around his body to always have some with him, and let's them bloom to make it/ himself more beautiful.
Is actually better at bending plants than regular water, even though the pure element should be the easiest to bend.
"Water inside plants is sweeter, which is just like me!", is his explanation for this.
Beel
Element: Earth
Sub element: Seismic sense
Fighting style: Due to his physique he is able to bend massive amounts of stone at once, yeeting those at his enemies. His powers decrease the hungrier he is, but peak once he enters his hungered rage. God help the mountains around him if that happens, they might be pulled of the ground if they are in the way between Beel and his food.
As he is rather calm and dislikes initiating fights, he learned to listen to the earth, his seismic sense helping him detect objects connected to the ground through vibrations.
"If you stay calm and feel your surroundings, you'll find yourself with many advantages in life... For me, it's the ability to detect the nearest food, hehe..."
Belphie
Element: Earth
Sub element: Sand
Fighting style: likes the fast attacks that are possible when bending sand, it's lighter and better to form than solid ground.
Probably his favourite move is to swirl the sand up to disturb his opponents vision while he himself isn't hindered by it at all. If no sand around, he prefers to use smaller rocks and uses them as projectiles.
"Direct combat is too tiring... I'd rather annoy my enemies until they are sick of fighting me. Everyone hates sand in their eyes, right?"
Diavolo
Element: Earth
Sub element: Lava
Fighting style: In my personal AU that is currently forming in my head, Diavolo is the earth prince and thus rarely gets to fight, but oh boy can he beat you up if he wants to. For his size, he is surprisingly agile as he utilizes his earth bending to move. His attacks are mostly through lava bending, a technique which he came up with himself after thinking about how water benders can change their element's state of aggregation. With lava, he keeps his enemies where he wants them to be, to then bombard his enemies with lava projectiles.
"Don't be shy, come a little closer! I might be a prince, but there is no need to be afraid... If I wanted to battle you, you would have already found yourself in a pit of lava!"
Barbatos
Element: Earth
Sub element: Metal, truth seer
Fighting style: This sly mf keeps shreds of metal on his body at any time to be able to shoot them at enemies (kind of like Mai with her knifes). Not an aggressive fighter, rather he waits for the opponent's move, analysing them to then attack with whatever metal is around, or through earth bending, if more effective.
His truth seeing is a form of seismic sense that specialises in sensing another's breathing and heart rate, making him the perfect guard for the earth prince Diavolo.
"I seem to sense an increase in your heart rate... Are you lying or simply thrilled to see me, hm~?"
Simeon
Element: Water
Sub element: healing, spirit bending
Fighting style: Simeon barely ever has to fight, his role in the tribe is a spiritual, not a warrior one. He has magnificent healing skills and is highly spiritual, so fighting is just not his cup of tea. All techniques he is able to do are traditional figures that are passed over generations in the water tribes.
He uses the techniques for 'dances' rather than combat, when pacifying evil spirits or to communicate with and befriend good ones.
Sub element: mild form of spiritual projection
Is able to travel to the spirit world, helps keeping the balance between the human and spirit world.
"Bending is so much more than a weapon to hurt your enemies. Come, I will show you my favourite spiritual place and tell you about the beauty of elements and spirits."
Luke
Element: Air
Fighting style: "Aang style", defensive and keeping his distance. Dodging until finding a weak point, however if you annoy litte Luke, he might switch to a more direct fighting style. With this reckless fighting style, Luke likes to disturb his opponents balance, his satisfaction big when he, a tiny boy, can blow grown-ups off their feet.
Solomon
He loves spirits, so he had always given it his all to get into the spirit world, successfully. Now, he is working on a technique to move his soul unbound by his body. Up to now he can drastically increase his sense (see and hear) through sensing through the wind around him, but he couldn't give his spirit an intangible form yet.
"If you can exist outside your body in the spirit world, it has to be possible here, too! Watch me, I will figure out how to do it one day!!"
Element: Water
Sub element: blood
"You know, technically, air nomads could bend the air carried by your blood cells... Earth benders the minerals and ions in your blood... So basically, blood bending is a really... Huh? What do you mean you're scared of me? I'm harmless, I swear~"
Fighting style: Don't worry, I know blood bending is always treated as the worst thing ever, but Solomon rarely ever relies on his blood bending skill for combat, even though he is able to use it outside of full moon nights, too. He knows a lot about the human body, so he can actually use those skills to heal and help people! (Or well, potentially, he could cause all your blood vessels to burst, but... That is only an option... Maybe... Mostly...)
He is talented with water and ice enough to fight bending those, will use those in the most annoying ways he can.
Bonus: My two MCs Violet and Clover
Element: none
Clover
Weapon: Bow and arrows
Fighting style: Clover tought herself how to use the bow in her free time in case she ever needs to defend herself. Other than that, she wasn't born with any bending abilities, but is, just like Simeon, very spiritually talented and helps him with his work. Wishes to be able to travel to the spirit world one day.
She can hear and see spirits that have escaped into the human world and has made it her task to ensure they return to their home safely.
"H-huh? Ah, don't mind me, I'm not special at all... But wouldn't you like to meet my ghost friends? They have so many fascinating stories to tell."
Violet
Element (learned): fire (mastered), earth (only a little)
Element (yet to learn/ master): water, air, earth
Fighting style: Avatar alerrrt. Yes, this amazing lady would be the avatar of this generation. Born in the fire nation, she has mastered bending fire at young age. Given the right ground (e.g. volcanic stone), Violet has a unique technique of colouring her flames as the bends tiniest fragments of metals and minerals along with the flames. For that she lets the fire touch the ground and burns the metals in her motion. The minerals cause the different flame colorations and showed that she is indeed the avatar. Has yet to learn bending the three other elements.
Lucifer was her teacher for mastering fire bending, and she was taught to fight with a sword, too.
"I may be capable of bending every element, but I still have a long way to go. My homeland has taught me the arts of fire and the sword, but now it is time for me to learn the arts of the rest of the world."

Thank you so much for reading!! If you´d like to hear more about this concept I can come up with backstories for each character! Just let me know if you´d be interested~

Do you have any sexuality headcannons for Tales characters in the games you played?
Oh boy, I do! Let’s see, I have to dig around my brain for them...
Symphonia:
-I’m actually pretty content with these characters. Or at least, I haven’t thought too hard about them. Their relationships in the game are very straightforward and solid to me. I do have a bunch of headcanons that don’t have to do with sexuality, though, which you can find here!
Vesperia:
-Yuri is Bi, mainly because while I do ship him with Flynn I also wouldn’t mind if Flynn and Yuri were just really good friends. He’s pretty cute with Estelle, too. But! I also like to play with the idea of Yuri being Trans.
-Flynn is Bi! For the same reasons, mostly.
-Estelle is Pan! I’m pretty sure she would accept anyone as they were. She’s very headstrong and loves all kinds of people. So I feel this is very fitting.
-Rita is def a lesbian
-Judith is Aro! Because I can’t really see her being with someone, I feel like she cares more about familial and friendship bonds than romantic ones.
Abyss:
-I want to say Luke is ace, but he’s also like 7 so
-Jade is for sure dating Peony, but it’s a side thing because Peony is still emperor and there has to be a successor and all that jazz. But those two are definitely gay.
-Ion is gender fluid! I catch myself using they/them pronouns a lot with Ion
Graces:
-Asbel is still a suppressed gay who has convinced himself he’s straight
-Sophie is Aro/Ace
-Richard is gay, in love with Asbel, but values Asbel’s happiness more than his so he stays quiet about it.
-I’ll probably get flack for this, but I see Pascal as Aro! I just canNOT accept that her and Hubert are technically canon. No. Can’t see it. Feels forced.
Xillia:
-Jude is trans, but I’m also fine to leave him as a dude who just isn’t very masculine/doesn’t have many masculine interests.
-Milla is Pan! Also uses She/They pronouns!
-Leia is Bi, you can’t tell me otherwise
-Julius is totally gay
Zestiria:
-Sorey is Ace! And gay
-Mikleo is also gay, these two are just so nice for each other.
-Alisha is Bi! I like to think she started to have feelings for Sorey, but once she saw Mikleo with him she decided to respect that relationship.
-Rose is total Lesbian
-Edna is Aro/Ace!
Berseria:
-Velvet is Aro! As much as I love all the ships, I feel overall she wouldn’t have an interest. But her friend Niko was definitely trying to flirt with her and catch her attention.
-Magilou is Pan!
-Eleanor is a closeted Bi
.
.
.
And that’s pretty much it! I hope it suffices, they are just my own head canons. There’s quite a few Aro ones which is probably just me reflecting myself onto them.
It’s always fun to talk about this kind of stuff!

Queen Plays KH3 Pt. 3
TIME PLAYED: 28 hrs, 4 min.
CURRENT LEVEL: 40
DEATH COUNTER: 32
WORLDS COMPLETED:
Olympus
Twilight Town
Toy Box
Kingdom of Corona
Monstropolis
100 Acre Wood
Arendelle
The Carribean
San Fransokyo
The Final World
The rest is under the cut to avoid spoilers. Read at your own risk... though most of it is just keysmashin at the end.
Starting off with the Caribbean. And I like Jack, I really do. But I wanna smack him, he's such a jerk. And I think we died? We fell off the edge of the world and now Elizabeth is saying we ending up in Davy Jones's Locker. Great, but I'VE DIED 14 TIMES AT THIS POINT. It's just funny to me.
Should be noted I've never seen Pirates of the Caribbean. So I'm a little lost on all this.
Sora has a lil crown on his hat I love it.
Jack is a jerk to Will and Elizabeth. After KH2, I do not trust Barbossa. At all.
Something tells me I'm gonna fail A LOT at the ship driving thing.
Sora ain't afraid of no Kraken. He's faced worse. A lil Kraken ain't anything.
Vexen creeps me out a little right now. And what did Xemnas tell Luxord? Must have been something because I feel something is off. Anyway, there must be a reason Vexen wants to finish his work so bad. I wanna know it. I NEED TO KNOW IT.
It's so weird seeing Sora without gloves on. He has nice hands.
SORA BEING SO BADASS. JUST FLOWMOTIONING ON THE SMOKE AND RIDING THE HEARTLESS. SO CINMEATICALLY BEAUTIFUL.
I DIED THREE TIMES IN THAT BATTLE. THREE. TIMES.
And then Sora went splat.
Is that what Tia Dalma said to Sora? What is she talking about? Free her from what? Eh. We'll find out.
Something tells me, when Sora was a kid... he wanted to be a pirate. Very badly.
Jack may be a jerk, but he's a jerk who's not gonna leave a kid in a cavern.
Luxord calling parley and I'm like "not this shit again"
Jack Sparrow is such a DUMBASS.
Technically, Sora drives the Gummi Ship. He's the captain of it then, right?
Wait what. WAIT WHAT. OH MY GOD CRAB JACK EXPLODED.
The graphics in this world are so GOOD OH MY GOSH
IS ELIZABETH THE PIRATE KING? QUEEN? ... I need to watch these movies now.
When an encounter is cut off by a cutscene. Also, WTF is up with the way Sora pronounced Luxord? Like... "luke sword" is that how you're supposed to say it? I don't remember. I'm gonna continue to say Lux-ord. Say it like how spelled.
DEATH COUNT KEEPS GETTING HIGHER WITH THIS FIGHT. I'M UP TO 19. I'm gonna look up a walkthrough to help, hold on-- I gotta level up this fucking ship before I go any further. I don't want to die a bunch. Putting the story on hold for now. Gotta find crabs. That sounds so weird to say.
I love how the sounds underwater are muffled. It's a nice detail.
THIS BATTLE MAY COUNT FOR HALF OF MY DEATHS (27 so far) BUT I FINALLY BEAT THAT PIRATE GAMBLER WANNABE. OH SWEET LORD YES.
So Will and Co. Ddd our job for us. Or did they? Tia Dalma/Calypso... can she help us? She's a prisoner. But Sora's giving a protagonist speech, so I'm not complaining.
Sora joining in Elizabeth's speech, like... do you even know what "hoist the colors" means boy?!
The Organization are looking for hope. I can see the gears turning in Sora's head. Maybe they aren't so bad after all? Hmm.
"Then I invoke the right of parle--" Jack just comes up to Luxord, puts a finger to his mouth. Like... "No. No parley." Bitch finally learned.
RIP Luxord. Also, something tells me he was pirate before becoming a Nobody. I don't know, just a hunch.
Sora probably knows more about the heart than others. And Jack and I can agree on something.
Jones, stabs Will. SORA LITERALLY LOSES HIS SHIT AND TACKLES THE SQUIDMAN LIKE... YES BUT NO. RIP DAVY JONES. But seriously. THIS SCENE IS SO SAD OH MY GOD WYF JUST HAPPENED!? CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN?!
WTF WILL?! HOW IS HE ALIVE?! Wait... And thank you for explaining it right after I figured it out.
Jack is a major mood right now.
MY SHIP WAS JUST A BUNCH OF FUCKING CRABS.
Back with our redheads, Axel's having emotional problems. Talk about them man. Just talk.
LEA REMEMBERS VENTUS. HE REMEMBERS VEN.
I REMMEMVER THIS PART FROM THE TRAILER. NO, MICKEY. SAVE HIM RIKU.
Cut to Ansem the wise, and Ansem SOB
YAS KIDS YAS. I LOVE HAYNER PENCE AND OLETTE RIGHT NIW. THESE KIDS OH MY GOSH.
Why did the Nobody protect him?!WHAT IS GOING ON?!
VEXEN GET OUT.
Wait what?! Um... WHAT?! AND THE SCENE CUTS OFF THERE LIKE WTF. IS HE A SPY?! IS EVEN JUST PLAYING VEXEN WTF?!
I love Sora's reactions in San Fransokyo. They're so dorky. SORA IS SUCH A DORK I LOVE HIM.
I wanna hug from Baymax.
Sora is a simple Island boy, he's so fascinated by tech.
It sounds like they're saying Yu-Gi-Oh. Is that just me? ITS TIME TO DUEL. THE HEARTLESS.
SORA DOESN'T KNOW WHAT A FIST BUMP IS. THAT WAS SO CUTE.
AHHH SORA AND ROXAS. THAT WAS... JUST... "I'M WITH YOU"... AHHH
What are those things? Are they from Coded? I'm not sure... and that ain't a good thing.
REPLICA. Oh wait, no... I don't think so anyway?
Goofy talking sense into Sora. It's the dad in him.
His eyes also look more hazel than gold.
BAYMAX. WHY MUST YOU DO THIS FAKE RIKU. WHY.
Just like the end of the movie, the end of this world is so freaking SAD. ... I TAKE IT BACK ITS SO FREAKING SWEET!!!! Its official. That is my favorite world now.
Now it's time for the beginning of the end.
RIKU MICKEY NO. Really hope Sora knows what he's doing.
OH MY GOD. THAT. OH MY GOD.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. I KNOW THIS FROM THE TRAILER. NO THIS ISN'T GOOD. THIS CANT BE GOOD.
Can I say that Riku has grown so much since the first game? Because he has. It's good and I love AND NOW LETS SAVE AQUA
Sora is a... wha. SORA. BROS. SAVING THE DAY ONCE AGAIN. AHHHHH YESSS. AQUA IM SO SORRY I HAD TO DO THIS. PLEASE BE OKAY.
SHE'S OKAY. SORA SAVED HER SHE'S OKAY. TEN YEARS AND SHE'S OKAY I CANT STOP SMILING.
AHHH EVEN AND DEMYX. I knew that Demyx wasn't like... dark. Even had me going, that's for sure. BUT YES. EVERYTHING IS GOOD YES.
OH. I have a theory. And if right... Please let it be right...
THEY HAVE IT. YES DEMYX YES. THEY HAVE THE BODY.
OH MY GOD IENZO AND ANSEM... I COULDN'T STOP SMILING THAT WHOLE TIME JUST THE EMOTION IN THAT WHOLE SCENE--
THE LAND OF DEPATURE. SHE'S FIXING HER HOME. NOW LET'S GO GET VEN!!! AND VANITAS RUINS EVERYTHING. AND AQUA KICKS ASS. YAS QUEEN.
Wait what's going on??? VEN?! IS SORA GONNA HES WAKING HIM UP. HES WAKING HIM UP. VENTUS IS AWAKE. MY BBY BOY ISAWALE!!! "Good morning, Ven." MY HEART.
Lea is a MAJOR MOOD.
MY HEART. THEY STILL HAVE THEIR WAYFINDERS.
THE SCENE BETWEEN LEA AND SAIX. OH MY HEART. HE JUST WANTS HIS FRIENDS. AND HOW ARE THESE TWO NOT REALIZING YET THAT THE GIRL IS KAIRI?! I mean... I know it was ten years ago, but given all that you know so far... guys. Come on. Lea, you should at ke in st put the pieces together by now.
Though, it was nice to get an explantion on WHY Isa and Lea were turned into Nobodies. They just wanted to save Kairi. They were just... a little too late.
REPLICA RIKU. THE PRESENT DAY ONE I GUESS??? AHHH. It is only later that my dumbass realizes that this is Past!Riku, the one controlled by Ansem. Forgive me about this.
MY KIDS. SO SWEET.
The day has finally come. I am ready. ... I am not ready.
AND THE CHOSEN KICK ASS. With a train. Woo woo.
What just happened. WHAT JUST HAPPENED?! I DIED?!
CHIRITHY. His voice sounds familiar...
Words cannot describe... how amazing the next few scenes are. Like... Sora... my man... I just... I want everything for you. Please let everyone survive this to the end.
THEKEYBLADES U ION CROSS HAS A REASON FOR EXISTING. AHHH MY BOY.
RIKU NO. HIW DO YOU NOT REMEMBER. Never mind answered my own question. Xehanort’s heart and shit. Nevermind. Time to kick heartless ass.
Also, just noticed that Lea's Keyblade glows. And he's holding it the same way he did his chakrams. Nice.
Yen Sid coming to save our asses. THA K YOU. And thank you, Donald. Goofy. Thanks.
And now... the final battle truly begins... tomorrow.
It's late now, and I'm a bit sad because I really wanted to beat this game today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed I can finish it before I have to go to work tomorrow, if not then on Sunday.
Guys... wish me luck. I'll take advice if anyone has any...

Tales of the Stage - Those Who Inherit The Power of Lorelei - EMOTIONAL ACT (August 23, 2018)
What a long day it was!
In a nutshell, today's stage play was a lot more serious as promised (in contrast to how crazy the Yokohama stage play was). It definitely felt more like Asch's story this time around, and anyone who adores him is very much in for a treat. There were also a lot more scenes with the Six God-Generals and Noir, with the Abyss party members taking more of a backseat this time around. I think this might be the closest we'll ever get to an Asch side for Tales of the Abyss. Aschtalia shippers will also love it a lot.
After the stage play, there was a talk show with Chihiro Suzuki (Luke's voice actor), Kazuki Yao (Dist's voice actor), Yuya Arai (Asch's stage actor), Orito Kasahara (Dist's stage actor), and Shunichi Takahashi (Jade's stage actor). Which, you can probably guess, is the reason why I picked this day to go, besides my already planned Saturday and Sunday viewings.
Anyway, without further ado, here's my personal experience for today, as well as a plot and talk show summary I've drawn up to the best of my abilities and memory!
Before the Stage Play
After hearing that Jade sold out pretty quickly yesterday, I took no chances for the merch line and arrived two hours early before they started selling stuff. It was a long wait under the sun as they had us line up outside the venue before letting us in 30 minutes before 4pm (the start of sales).
As I was the second in line, I managed to get everything I wanted! I lined up again a little later because I was curious about the items that sold out. The Dist bromide (Yokohama Arena version) and acrylic was the first to run out in about 20 minutes. Legretta's bromide (Yokohama Arena version) also sold out at around the same time. Not too long after, Jade's acrylic keychain also sold out. I'm so glad I came in early to get them, but man, they didn't really seem to stock too much of everything except Boy Asch, Luke, and Asch.
The wait for the theater opening itself (6pm) was made bearable by the fact that I managed to make a friend (aka the person who was as early as I was in lining up). Both of us are Jade and Dist fans (with matching Jade dolls too and what not), and it seems we both took the bait regarding the varied talk shows per day (today was Jade and Dist's turn).
Once the theater gates opened, we got the postcard (today was Jade and Dist) that changes for each showing. There were also a good bit of flowers. Jade, Dist, Tear, and Asch have the most.
Stage Play Summary
Note: Apparently some of these scenes were different from Day 1's show. As I have not gone to the said show, I do not know which is different or the same, so I'll be updating this on Saturday again to report on which scenes were unique to Day 2.
Before the stage play, Noir and her lackey Dino (if I'm getting the name right) fooled around a bit onstage. Noir's bromide sold out and Dino was talking excitedly about it. He also opened a blind box can badge in front of Noir, hoping he'd get Noir. He got Ion instead, which Noir pinned to her uhh... chest wrap, or whatever it is you call her clothes. Dino started taking a lot of pictures of her and kind of got skeevy a little later and got bonked by Noir as a result.
Kazuki Yao (as Dist) narrated the story introduction, complete with Dist's trademark laugh. He made it a point to emphasize that Jade was his rival.
The story opens with boy Asch escaping, and Dist running after him. Dist got a clunked on the head for his trouble, Van reassured him that it's not a problem that Asch escaped. Asch got stopped at the gates and was laughed at, and everything more or less proceeds as the Abyss plot did.
The boy Asch actor didn't join in the Karma dance, but he did appear in several of Asch's dream/nightmare sequences/flashbacks. It was sprinkled throughout the play and was a nice touch, and definitely added to the overall Asch-feel of the stage play.
As with the Yokohama stageplay, the Karma dance was montage-y at some parts for the God-Generals. Also since I pay extra attention to Jade, he somersaults into the stage, sights Dist, then walks away when the latter tries to chase him.
They had some pre-game scenes here that were never in the game or anime, aka an opportunity to showcase how stuff in Daath went. Like, Anise being busy with Ion. Dist presenting Tokunaga to her was also included here, as well as a bit of showcasing of how their awkward friendship works. I love it so much. There was also Arietta having some trouble with paperwork and trying to get Sync to help her. Legretta eventually ends up aiding her instead, and she kinda felt motherly here. Van also had a fatherly moment when the God-Generals met up with him and Arietta presented her paperwork to him proudly, but it did come off as a little creepy given what we know of Van.
But yeah, during that meeting, Van also poked fun at Asch's dislike of octopus as a joke. Basically it all felt like they were the dysfunctional family that the anime or game semi-implied but did not quite emphasize.
Luke and Tear end up in what I suspect to be Cheagle Woods, but the area wasn't named. The main party also had their entrances at around this point (including Guy and Natalia, who aren't slated to join until way later, game-wise). Guy's introduction ("Enter the amazing Guy") kept on getting interrupted by Natalia, which was hilarious.
Later on, we get to see a similar scene as the Yokohama Arena showing, where Asch visits Nam Cobanda Isle to make a deal with Noir. Noir's backstory also comes out here. A random kid gives Asch his most treasured possession, which is a doll.
I think this was around this time that Asch had another one of his dreams about the past again. As I've mentioned earlier, this is a recurring thing throughout the stage play. They also got the Natalia actor (I think) to dress up as child Natalia for these flashbacks.
There was a huge skip to what I assume to be Deo Pass (prior to Akzeriuth), where the party battles it out with the Six God-Generals. Natalia sees Asch's face and they end up having a long moment staring at each other, and she seems to realize something, but does not have much time to dwell on it. Guy and Sync get some curse slot action going here as well.
Akzeriuth more or less proceeds as it does, including the Abyss classic "ore wa warukunee". However, at Ortion Cavern, there was an added scene where Jade talks about his past with Dist, and there's an enacted flashback for it. For this adaptation, younger Jade and Dist (in lab coats) were in Hod when it was collapsing, and that's how Jade came to know about Van's real name. Note that in the game, Jade had never actually stepped a foot inside Hod. Even if this wasn't canon compliant, it was still interesting to see because, yay, more Jade and Dist scenes. Action scenes, that is. Though Dist (Saphir then), wasn't really any good with them battles and just kept on trying to dodge things.
It was around this time (or a little earlier), that Mohs was talking to Largo about something interesting that he heard (aka the circumstances of Natalia's birth), and was heavily hinting that he knew something about Largo too. Largo just brushes it off.
Speaking of Largo, earlier he also had a moment with Asch, something like acknowledging that they have the same feelings regarding a certain issue. I think it was Natalia-related, but my memory is a little fuzzy at this point in time.
There was a part where Asch was more apparently in pain, and Dist, like in the Yokohama Arena showing, ends up mocking-slash-word-vomiting at Asch regarding his state (the Big Bang). While Dist was going on his spiel, Noir and Dino were nearby, poorly hiding as they overheard everything. Once Asch chases off Dist, Noir voices some concern over his well-being, but also ends up reporting that Natalia is in trouble (Mohs was going up with his reveal regarding Meryl and Natalia being a "fake" princess). Asch ignores his extreme pain and runs off.
As with the Yokohama Arena show, we got to do the Natalia chant with the penlights along with Noir and the Dark Wings.
Asch and Van also have their battle here, which Asch has the upper hand in until he gets a seizure, which Van takes advantage of by stabbing his arm and literally twisting a knife (err, sword) into it. Same as the Yokohama Arena show, and just as "oww" to watch.
Absorption Gate was also another opportunity to showcase some of the party's talents. I was only expecting somersaults and stunts from Jade (who delivered!), but Tear also had her own cartwheels and it was pretty impressive. Van still had his dance numbers but they were very much shortened. Also Jade featured quite prominently in the Absorption Gate battles, I feel. And there even was a part where he seemed to be dancing it off with Van.
Sync was in the Absorption Gate battle and once his mask broke and he got on this diatribe, he committed suicide with a sword. Later on, he gets revived along with Van.
Luke and Asch receive their parts of the Key of Lorelei. Asch has a scene with Noir at around this time too, where he asks Noir to return the doll he received from the child earlier on in the stage play. But something happened to the doll's face, I think? Dino said something but I wasn't able to catch all of it.
Then there's a huge skip to Eldrant, where the party have their final showdown with the Six God-Generals. Natalia and Asch have a moment too over here. So we have the following:
Anise vs Arietta: Poor Arietta, she had that scene where she hallucinates her mother and Ion before she dies.
Jade vs Dist: Jade makes quick work of Dist's robots after going "Sayonara, Saphir". Which did not feel as heartfelt as the game or anime, but I'm glad they included that. The battle ends when Jade steals Dist's flowery wheels and Dist chases after him.
Tear vs Legretta: Legretta has more or less the same death scene lines, with Tear being equally devastated.
Natalia vs Largo: Quite similar to the game as well, with Largo being proud of his daughter before dying, and Natalia calling him father
Guy (and later on Anise) vs Sync: Similar to the anime, and Sync has a moment where he impersonates Ion in the heat of battle, which throws off Anise
Luke vs Asch: Similar to how it goes in the game, with a few twists. Luke sees Asch getting turned into a pincushion and was definitely very hesitant to leave him like that.
All of the God-Generals except Dist dies. There is a scene after Asch dies where the Natalia in his dream finally finds him (prior to that, it was always him just chasing after Dream!Natalia), and gets the flower crown, plus a realization of the place he belongs in. We also get to see (briefly) the God-Generals that have died in the said sequence. A good number of people were in tears at this point.
In the final battle against Van, Asch from the beyond gives Luke a pep talk. After which, Luke uses Lost Fon Drive to defeat Van. And I guess it's time for a small random note--everyone in the party (plus Asch) got to use their Mystic Artes throughout the stage play, except for Jade. But that aside, the post-Eldrant scene was cut a little short, with only Tear saying her piece about wanting Luke to come back. But Luke and Jade do share a nod before it cuts to Luke fulfilling his promise to Lorelei.
They tried to recreate the whole Luke-falling-to-the-core scene as faithfully as they can. I think that they could not have the Luke stage actor carry Asch the whole time, so they substituted for a projection. Still was nice.
"The Look of that Day" starts playing, and we get the epilogue scene, which proceeds more or less as it did in the game and the previous stage plays (with the Luke stage actor in the Mr. Ending costume), BUT. Besides using a more Lorelei-ish voice for him (it's the Mr. Ending voice, overlapped with some other voice), we get a silhouette of Asch too (in a similar costume, iirc) after Mr. Ending exits the stage.
When I looked around and the lights went on, it seemed that more people were in tears by the time the after talk show was to start.
After Talk Show Summary
Kazuki Yao was dressed up in a flowery print Hawaiian shirt and shorts combo, with a t-shirt that had a glittery skull on it. It was a highly unexpected turn of events and earned many laughs.
Chi-chan made sure to emphasize we're getting Double Dist today. And kept calling Jade's corkscrew a dragon screw.
Some of the questions and answers I can remember (paraphrased):
(1) What thing did you have to be careful about when portraying your character? Yao: Apparently he thought Dist was an "okama" (roughly "drag queen"), but in the middle of recording, he was told that Dist is not an okama and it was difficult to adjust. Kasahara: He did a lot of research, and tried his best to imitate Yao's voice for Dist. (he's playing through Abyss and I think got Shiro no Ashita and Tsuioku no Jade manga) Takahashi: Jade's spectacularly long hair. (which I imagine got in the way in a lot of stunts... he needed to keep flipping it away lol)
I can't remember what Arai said for Asch, unfortunately.
(2) Since we have Double Dist today, name something good about Dist. Suzuki: Very forward-looking and positive. Arai: He has a beautiful color. (said after facing Dist and looking at him for a long time) Takahashi: Let me just describe what happened when it was the Jade stage actor's turn. > Dist and Jade face each other and are sitting way close. > Jade: (after a long stare) Nothing. > Dist: (looking affronted) Ehh??! There must be something!!
If I recall correctly, Jade reaffirms the no, but definitely, shortly after this, Dist starts playfully grabbing Jade's knees and goes all "JEIDOOOO". Kasahara-san and Takahashi-san were so cute together...
Anyway, the winners for the picture-taking lottery were announced at the end of the talk show. Didn't win, but I did have a lot of nice memories to take home, which I feel was very much precious in itself.
Personal Thoughts
As with the previous stage plays, I feel it's best to watch this while being well aware of TOA's story. They skip around a lot and omit a lot of things, and I feel it's easier to appreciate the additions with that said background in hand.
I really loved the stage play as an Asch side type of deal. It's a refreshing way of looking at the story, and as I've mentioned, they really made good in making this feel like it's Asch's story. The party members taking the sidelines (including Luke) was a consequence of this, but it all felt natural. I liked seeing more of the Six God-Generals too.
Accounting for my Jade bias, I'm satisfied with regard to his level of presence in an Asch-centric story. I think he had even more stunts here than the last one he was in, but that could be my wishful imagination at work. I also feel his character was a lot more interesting with Dist around, rather than a standalone.
Asch was definitely the star of the show, but I still love Kasahara's Dist. He's such a great Dist and I'm glad they got him on board. His research certainly looks like it paid off--he looks the part and acts the part. I think a lot of people are charmed by his performance too, which also may factor in to Dist running out today (besides today being Jade and Dist talk show day), and during the last TalesFes. I also noticed that people in the trade search on Twitter have been searching for his karaoke trading card too (Jade, of course, is still the crowning king of rare).
I still feel that Reo Kawamura's Guy is a bit lacking, but he had a lot more to do this stage play, so it wasn't as bad as the previous stage play in Yokohama Arena. As far as successors to Kou Hosokawa's Guy was, I think he's fine--it's just that Hosokawa's performance feels difficult to top, in my opinion.
I cannot tell which among the stage play scenes were different or added for the day, so I guess I'll discover on Saturday what may have changed. I definitely look forward to that and the talk show, in any case. Will post again on Saturday and Sunday with the said differences, but until then, I hope you enjoyed this report! If you have any questions that I have not addressed, please feel free to drop by my ask box!

The T.C. rambles while watching a force awakes
Re-watching star wars 7 to see if out of the 3D headache IMAX theatre, if it’s any better.
I still hate parody Han Solo guy, like he reminds me of post-Black Knight Sonic the Hedgehog. Just really unfunny and trying way too hard to be hip and internet savvy or something.
I don’t think anything will change my opinion that he shoulda been a bit character.
I’ve decided to commentate the whole fucking movie so read on if you dare.
Rey’s making space bread. It’s very gross.
I doubt anything will change my opinion that she’s the best star wars character.
Oh God BB-8
HBomberguy ruined BB-8 for me. Whenever I see him all I hear is
L I T T L E   W H I T E   C U C K - B A L L L L L L
I guess Rey doesn’t like him either, I forgot this part.
I wish they got rid of the Dorito Destroyer.
Oh boy Darth Helmet is interrogating Lone Star.
Kylo Ren has the stupidest helmet.
There’s subtitles on this so I learned the guy’s name is Poe
RRRAAAAAAAAAAAA
Like Kylo Ren is really badass in the first half I remember this, like he stops a God damn laser blast.
Would you sell BB-8 for 60 meals?

Why do they still have Twin Ion Engine fighters?
I guess we still drive cars so eh...
Ah his name is Finn now, I guess he is a clone? or something?
Maybe they have multiple types of clones. I wonder if they still use Jango Fett...
Fucking proton torpedos!!!
Ah yeah I forgot Finn just wants to GTFO
Trailer shot. Nice.
Oh wait I can turn off subtitles. Good that was disorienting me.
And Poe dies... a great fake-out you thought parody han solo was a protag, but no this is the story of Finn, the storm trooper defecting from nazi hell-space to find his own life on Jakku or wherever.
He keeps Poe’s jacket for cover, very poetic. HAH
POE-ETIC God why did I hate this movie again?
If there’s a Kylo Ren, where is Kylo Stimpy?
Oh God Finn no don’t ugh drank the slop water ugh no why ugh
Finn goes to save Rey cuz white knight trope. Rey can handle herself like a ‘90s chick. Hey she’s a pit chick she’s got a staff.
RUN FINN RUN
Rey fuck taser what
Finn’s having a lousy life.
Poor basketball’s friend died. I feel like the story is rushing.
Like I expected more of a build-up not “SPIT OUT THE EXPOSITION FUCKIN”
Ah, storm troopers...
Rey doesn’t want your cooties, Finn.
Fucking TIE fighters fuck
Is Finn dead? No he just nappin’
Everything exploding!

Ah a planet of islands... the scenery reminds me of ep 2
“Did you just call me ‘Solo’?”
Women always figure out the truth, always.
There needs to be a han solo inspirational poster that says that.
A job? The fabled... job? You offer job?
Rey has a home? I thought she was just a wayfarer.

Weird lady narks NARKS EVERYTHWIER
Oh boy Darth Helmet is brooding.
Fucking Darth Vader. Kylo Ren is such a fanfiction.
Like, the idea of a warrior of light choosing darkness is something you seldom see done, but... eh... I guess? IRL kids no like most nazis are privilidged and a decade ago would be seen as nerds.

FIST UP why are the nazis doing the fist up this is upsetting.
PEW
How does the laser split up into shit and what is this planet?
Like this is supposed to be dramatic but... you literally don’t know any of those people or any of those planets. This should have been episode 8 or 9 after establishing those planets.
 W H A T    A    W A S T E
oH BOY  Finn got da lightsabah

I can’t believe Carrie Fisher is dead.
The resisties are kinda boring looking.
Oh look it’s Poe, he’s alive somehow.
Maybe the second time I’ll get the good explanation.
Oh no, there’s no good explanation he just wasn’t there.
L A A A A A A A A A A M M M E.
Okay we’re past a new hope kinda in empire strikes back territory and the ending is the last jedi. Like I totally get people being upset that this is basically the original trilogy in a nutshell.
Damn dead R2-D2
Wait C-3P0 has a red arm why
I wonder how many parents relate to Han and Leia because their son turned into a nazi.
Fucking Snoke. What kinda name is that. Solid Snoke.
Was Kylo Ren just staring at Rey’s unconscious body for the past hour?
I’m sorry he’s just not intimidating he looks like a cheap halloween darth vader
Then the dramatic reveal like remember when Darth Vader was so disfigured from burning alive?
Kylo’s just ugly. Like that’s it that’s the reveal. Kylo is ugly.
Rey/Kylo is like whenever a 4chan boy tries to hit on a hot youtube girl like your face just melds into the chair to escape his grasp like a cat that doesn’t want to be pet.
I dunno this scene is just so stupid cuz they both look dorky like this is happening at otakon
You. You’re afraid... that you will never be as strong as Darth Vader
BITCH GOT TOOOLLLLLLD
Kylo has a huge nose. Like he’s Lois Griffin triangle sandwitch nose
I like how Rey tries to Luke Skywalker the storm trooper and he’s like “Serious?”
LOL fucking just left
T A N T R U M   T I M E
and the storm troopers just turn around LOL
Okay I love this weapon like, it’s a combination of the star crusher and a vaccum cleaner from Luigi’s mansion. It destroys the star, but in the way that it uses it to destroy things.
“So it’s big”
Disable the shields... there better be Ewoks on that planet.
Seriously, what does Poe add to the story after the escape?
Damn leila and han... dum
Hey a woman stormtrooper, like just a white gal. I didn’t notice that.
Damn lightspeed their way in.
Hooooh what a landing.
...Han Solo...
That‘s not how the force works!!!
LOL
Finn just wants Rey. I can see why people would think he’s horny for her since that boyfriend line, but that was the last horny thing he said.
Fucking mad with Power, calm down Finn then again we all wanna tell off our boss.
Rey is gonna escappeeeee damn hang on the side of the wall is that a switch what
Rey just climbing that wall like a monkey.
S H I E L D S   D O W N
Fucking Han... is there a trash compactor? You dirty bastard
And here comes the interesting part of Jedi Returns SHOOTY TIME
A T T A C K   T H E   S C P H I N C T E R (that’s how you spell it right)
Oh I love the sun thing like, it’s a great way of showing the timer without a clock.
Oh look it’s Rey, go on and almost get shot to death
H U G
Escape now, hug later.
The cinematography is good I like the dog fights.
LET”S BLOW SHIT UP
I dunno this just really isn’t dramatic at all
Placing bombs, just like in Jedi.
Here comes Kylo
At least he keeps the mask on, like too many movies rely on faces.
oh light’s almost gone.
M A H   B O Y
Ah the stupid part
Wait is his name Finn too?
Like this woulda been way more dramatic if you didn’t know Kylo was Han’s boy.
There’s no music making this awkward and gut-wrenching which you don’t see modern mvoies do.
I’m being torn apart ;w;
What a bitch
Knowing what happens these lines are hilarious
Will you help me
L I G H T S   O U T
red
STAB, STAB, STAB~
AHHHHHH HOOO HOO HOO HOOOIIEEEEE
I dunno like, you’d think Han Solo being stabbed to death with his son would feel more heavy but that was just... nothing.
A S P L O D E
Fucking Kylo TEEF
Night time, being chased by a crazy dork in the woods.
oh here it comes
TRAILER FUEL
YEUR A MUNSTAH
REY DOWN
C’mon Finn
TRAAAIIITOOORRRR
MORTAL KOMBAAAAAAAT
Fucking melee battle
Just fueled by the rage of his fallen friend, the desparation of the sun dissolving he fights for his life against a wounded lunatic.
Okay so maybe that cross saber has a use.
FINN DOWN
grabby time
oh no
REY GRABBED THE SABER
ROUND TWO, DARTH LOSER
This is unbearably xcool
Time to shoot the hole... like in new hope.
This ending is just all three original endinds with new stuff

SNEAKED IN SHOOT EM UP WOOOOOOOO
JUST LIKE ANNIE IN EP 1
only cooler
KA BLOOOOIIEEEE

fucking planet’s falling apart so it’s better
A tempting offer
Who wants kylo ren to be a teacher like he’d be like a nun
W 0 0 T
it’s the comeback
don’t give the hero a dramatic pause to focus
B E A T   D O W N
the struggle is real
K-O
Take that loser
there seems to be something between us, Ren
Welp the planet is collapsing woo
Finn don’t you die, Poe is a loser you’re cool Finn
Ah it’s Chewie in the Churger
oh yeah han died like I thought it was han but no he died XDDDDD
GTFO
Here comes the sun doot de doo doot~
Epic
Now for the final scene of congrats.
“Sorry General, your boyfriend was stabbed by his son and then the planet exploded”
H U G
Poor Chewie.
Fucking Artoo what are you doing here.
Like, this shoulda been episode 8 here, it feels like it shoulda ended with han’s funeral and the map was the start of the next movie aunno.
And Finn’s tale of a freedom slave blowing up the nazi death planet comes to a close.
Wait is she leaving?
I thought there was a funeral.
Nothing?
Not even an F?
Yeah then se see’s Luke’s hairy ass and it ends so awkwardly like this movie felt like two movies and THIS SHOULDA BEEN IN THE SEQUEL WHAT
Whoever wrote this is an idiot, whoever directed is even worse.
ANyways my conclusion is that the movie isn’t horrible, but... I dunno it’s about as bad as ep2 tho that movie’s crime was being boring, this one was too much story crammed into a short period and ruined opportunities.
I might watch ep 8 but I just am not invested like
HAN SOLO DYING MEANT NOTHING
Like fucking handing him a lightsaber what kinda ending is that
R O G U E   O N E   W A S   B E T T E R.
The end.

Hey, what are the top 5 things in your fridge?? OKAY, that's a weird question I want to ask you one but I can't think of anything. th question is more like "CAN YOU NAME 5 ITEMS IN YOUR FRIDGE? 😅LMAO. --okay maybe a TOP 5 VIDEO GAMES YOU player?thats a common question. Feel free to write some essay on that since you like writing 😄😉 (Touhou games DO NOT count!! and answer my 2 questions!)
(Ask me my top 5 anything!)
Top 5 items in my fridge / name 5 items from your fridge? (This is the most random thing and I love it). Off the top of my head…
1. Milk
2. Orange juice (aka a gift from the gods)
3. Green grapes (Green grapes > red grapes, fight me)
4. Strawberry jam / apricot jam (the sweeter the better)
5. Peppers (the spicier the better :])
Top 5 video games I’ve played (short answer). Funnily enough, Touhou wasn’t going to make the list anyway, heh.
1. Okami
2-5 (in no particular order): Tales of the Abyss, NieR, 999: 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors, To The Moon / Final Fantasy IX depending on my mood
(Honourable mentions go to: Pokemon Pearl, Paper Mario / Paper Mario: TTYD and Touhou, I guess ~)
(cracks knuckles) Long answers below since, as Anon said, I do like writing~
1. Okami
i’d die for this game. A solid 10/10. This game is a masterpiece in every way imaginable and any time somebody asks me, “Do you think video games can be considered art?” I show them this game. I played it when I was younger, so it has the faint sense of nostalgia, which is always a bonus. Uhhh I don’t know what else to say other than this game is beautiful and it is one of the few games where I was dreading the ending because I didn’t want the game to end. I wanted to stop playing because I didn’t want the game to end, it was that good.
My biggest dream would be to go to Ryoshima Coast tbh. That place is gorgeous. I remember the first time I went there and purified the area. Hearing the theme and seeing the sheer beauty of Ryoshima Coast appear took my breath away. A while back, I listened to the theme, after not listening to it for a loong while and… yeah, I cried. That’s how beautiful Ryoshima Coast is.
I want to talk more about how much I love this game, but this is long enough, heh. So let’s go to…
Tales of the Abyss
i’d also die for this game and i did. this game killed me. emotionally. I cried over 10 times playing this game? No exaggeration, I counted lmao. Luke’s haircut scene, Ion’s death, Anise crying in the cathedral, Natalia’s little speech to her father, the Meaning of Birth and Tower of Rem scene……………
Tales of the Abyss kicked me in the heart. Hard. Luke fon Fabre is the second most fictional character I relate hardest to. His bratty behaviour and willingness to change, his struggles and his personal issues… They hurt me :so close to home for me and I adore the cast with everything I have. Another video game I didn’t want to end because it was that good.
NieR
Little backstory here: My older sibling and a family friend played this game before me. I remembered very little. There was Gestalt Nier, and a talking book. Nier had a daughter named Yonah, who got kidnapped. There were evil shades. Basic stuff like that. But, what I remembered most, was the music. To be more specific, Hills of Radiant Wind and Kaine Salvation. About a year+ after my sibling finished playing NieR, I suddenly got one of the themes stuck in my head. So, I searched it up on YouTube, listened to it and I was blown away by the beauty. How could a song so beautiful exist????????
I decided to play NieR because of those two themes. They were that beautiful, so beautiful that I had to hear them in-game. Now, this game is brilliant. It steps on your heart and stitches it back together. Then it fucking tears it apart until nothing but bits and pieces remain. Lord the plot twist is so amazingly heart wrenching and this game really taught me that there are two sides to every story.
My (other) sibling watched me play this game, after watching the first sibling I mentioned play it. I hated the shades. That sidequest where you had to find the dog, and found it dead, surrounded by shades? I hated the shades. When I was fighting P-33 and Kalil, I found them annoying. I was having fun killing them, while my sibling was going, “No! Stop! Why are you killing them!” I didn’t understand nor care… until New Game+ rolled around and I felt like the biggest piece of shit. I don’t think another video game can make me feel as guilty as I did there. Hooooo boy NieR made me feel so many emotions.
Kaine was also my role-model growing up. She’s not the best role model (As some people have said to me, “You can’t go a sentence without swearing in it!”) but I admired the way she went through so many hardships in life and still kept living despite that. I also have a tragic backstory™ that bears some similarities to Kaine’s, so this resonated with me. Ahh, Kaine, you deserve the world. I can only hope to be as strong as her one day.
(Bonus: I was already sad when I had to kill Roc. NG+? I started sobbing like a little bitch thanks to the new scenes. “What did we do to deserve such a fate?” “Thank you… for being my friend.” HELLO TEARS WELCOME BACK my heart hurts thinking about it)
999:
this game had me sobbing at 2 am in my bedroom huddled under a blanket holding an upside-down ds
i hate this game for raising my standards so high. nothing can ever come close to the sheer ingenious storytelling of this game i hate this gaaame why did it have to hurt me like thaaaat
 To The Moon:
This game also had me crying during the late hours of the night. It’s a short and sweet “comfort game”, a video game that I tend to play when my mental health plummets. Each and every time, I finish the game (2.5 hours?), I end up feeling so much better afterwards.
I played this game because I heard the theme Everything’s Alright and like NieR, decided that I needed to hear this in-game. It’s so bittersweet :
Final Fantasy IX
Cheers, a game I played when I was much younger~! This game was heavy inspiration for a lot of my stories that I now write. It’s a wonderful game; what else is there to say? I’m currently replaying it right now and there’s nostalgia, yes, but now that I’m older, I can understand so many things I skipped over when I was younger. I’m actually decent at Tetra Master now!
wow
talking about your favourite video games is a surefire way to turn a bad mood into a good mood. Thank you for the ask, Anon ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Good evening every One, and welcome to the Tuesday ‘Tell A Vision’ Edition of The Good News Journal, I am Great-Full to have You here with Me.
Today I Will be tall King about a ‘new’ Netflix series that was ‘recommended’ for Me by Netflix as a 98% probability ‘match’.  I checked out the brief intro which is tall King about a ‘secret’ group of individuals known as ‘The Family’ who are alleged to be controlling the world from behind the scenes.  I put the Word secret in parenthesis because if it’s a series on Netflix, it’s really not that secret, is it?
I was very intrigued.  Partially because I have been thing King about a new Show for the Tuesday Edition, but mostly because it was a 98% match.  The odd thing about that, is that I’m not sure why it would be a 98% match.  Lately, I’ve been watching ‘Marco Polo’, before that I watched the series ‘OA’, and before that I was watching ‘Sense8’ (though lost interest at the beginning of season two, but I may give it another try at some point).  The point is, I really don’t watch programs like this on Netflix; Netflix is for when I Wish to Give My brain a break and enjoy something purely for entertainment purposes.
The other intriguing thing about the recommendation was the timing.  I mentioned yesterday that I’ve been thing King about all kinds of alternative Ways to resolve My outstanding Issues with both the Salvation Army and the government of Canada without having to file any more law suits.  If I could have My Wish, I would remain virtually anonymous with the exception of My Blog.  I Wish I could spend My time Writing about potential solutions for the world’s problems that already do exist, and Trust that those responsible for making them happen would get things done.  That’s really My dream.  The more I’m compelled to drag dis-Honourable individuals into Court, the more attention I am drawing to My Self in My Microcosm, and that’s really not something I Wish for.
Tumblr media
Returning to the topic at Hand, I decided I would check out the first episode of ‘The Family’, just to see what it was all about.  Almost immediately, there were Signs that drew Me in.  Soon I was Inspired to take Notes, knowing this would be My next ‘Tell A Vision’ Interpret-A-Sean.  You Will notice the first quote mentioned in the series is 137, and for Me, the number 37 is always a Sign from the Universe to ‘Pay Attention’.  Even more interesting, is the quotation itself, especially with respect to My de-Coding of ‘Babalon’.
“Oh daughter of Babalon who are to be destroyed, happy shall he be that taketh the little ones and dasheth them against the stones.”
Lust: The Central Quest-Ion of the Matter
TRUMPS XI – Lust Queen of Disks, Princess of Disks
The Tower; The Magus, Fortune.
Queen of Swords; 4 of Cups – Luxury, 10 Swords – Ruin
Prince of Disks; Prince of Wands, 2 of Cups, Love
I simply could not ignore the mention of Babylon, especially considering how much time I have spent tall King about it here, and what that represents in Man’s fiction of Law.  Babylon represents the ‘Citizen Ship’, Sailing (for Sail) the [Holy] See of Commercial Admiralty Water.  If We look at the sequence of the Cards, knowing that The Tower and the two Cards on either side represent the ‘Natural’ progression of the central Idea, even the Tarot is telling Us that the Tower of Babylon is about to fall.  This is precisely what I was referring to yesterday when I suggested that The Tower represents a much Grander Idea than the Salvation Army, but because the Microcosm reflects the Macrocosm in all things, the Salvation Army is the ‘Seven Nation Army’ Standing in My Way (Presently), and may have some relation-Ship as to how long Man can expect to wait for the fall of Babylon in Man’s Macrocosm…  Just an Idea, timing is one of the Elements of the Tarot I have never been Good at.
There were a couple of other Ideas that stood out for Me right away.  The Family is a group of individuals ‘bonding in Christ’.  That is the best Way I know to summarize the central Ideology of the group.  When the undercover reporter gets into one of the fraternity houses, he is told that they ‘appreciate’ and read from the Bible, but they don’t Give it too much credence and don’t call themselves Christian because they feel the central Ideas upon which the Bible was founded are misunderstood and incorrect.  Well, that just happens to be how I feel about modern religion, too.  Nothing worse than sitting in a chapel and listening to a man recite Biblical Versus with little to no understanding of their True meaning and zero experiential knowledge of God; yet that’s what most of modern religion is, the blind leading the blind.
Then they showed a cover of a Bible with an Image of a butterfly on the front.  Perhaps obviously, the butterfly represents Transformation.  The journalist was also encouraged to ignore all sections of the Bible ‘except the apostles’, MATTHEW, MARK, LUKE AND JOHN.  That got My attention because that is what My Friend had said to Me, too – the very same Friend who Gifted Me with the NEW WORLD TRANSLATION OF THE HOLY SCRIPTURES I cited yesterday.  When a Man tells Me something he feels he was instructed by God to tell Me, I Heed those Words as if they were spoken by God (because Man is God’s instrument of expression).  So GENESIS and MATTEW, MARK, LUKE AND JOHN, also happen to be the only sections of the Bible I have read in their entirety.
The other thing I have said to People who call themselves Christian or are interested in Christian teaching, is that the only thing One really needs to pay attention to is the example of Christ.  ‘The Family’ has Created their own book that exclusively deals with the teachings of Christ, it is simply called ‘Jesus’.  It is the only book they are to reference for guidance.
I Wish to cover all of the Notes/Quotes from My first Page before Signing off, though I Will likely do at least two more Interpret-A-Sean’s before continuing with the second of the Matrix trilogy (which Will soon be a quad-ology, as a fourth film has been confirmed with original Stars Carrie Ann-Moss and Keanu Reeves, and Lana Wachowski directing).
“They can’t handle the Truth.”
This is a line I Wished to speak about because I have suggested that this was the reason Jesus had to ‘die’ on the Cross.  In ‘The Family’ they support this Idea by suggesting that only the disciples of Christ were ready for His teaching, the rest of the world was not ready and could not handle it.  We simply had not evolved enough Spiritually as a collective for Christ to fully Establish God’s Kingdom at that Time.  The ‘Second Coming’, when Christ is prophesied to accomplish Peace, represents a Spiritual evolution among the collective, a time when the world Will be ready to receive the teachings of Christ.  That time is Now (or very near).
One of their other fundamental beliefs is that God chooses People for leadership.
“King David was chosen – the future King is Coming”
The other reason I decided to focus on ‘The Family’ for My ‘Interpret-A-Sean’, is because I have a very, very, strong belief that the People who are actually running this world, are Good People.  I believe they genuinely know the Truth of God and Mimic that Entity in Man’s Macrocosm, Acting as the ‘Wizard behind the curtain’.  There are even references to this Idea made in the series.  And I should probably also clarify that I am not suggesting ‘The Family’ is that group of individuals, though I believe those individuals are responsible for bringing ‘The Family’ together and choosing its representatives.
“No One knows the Son except the Father, and no One knows the Father except the Son, and those whom the Son chooses to reveal Him Self.”
I am going to leave You with another quote from the Bible presented in the docuseries (though it is from GENESIS, which ‘The Family’ deems less important than the Four-mentioned apostles).  It relates to Babylon, which was the Central Focus of My last Tarot read, so I don’t believe the quote to be a coincidence, as it speaks specifically to the destruction of Man’s Language.  (From the New Earth Translation of the Holy Scriptures).
Jehovah then said; “Look!  They are One People with One Language, and this is what they have started to do.  Now there is nothing that they may have in Mind to do that Will be impossible for them.  Come!  Let us come down there and confuse their Language in Order that they may not understand One another’s Language.”  So Jehovah scattered them from there over the entire face of the Earth, and they eventually left off building the city.”
Rather interesting, no?  Why would God Wish to smite a People who had become like God?  Are God and the LORD the same thing?  (Jehovah is said to represent God by Way of Hebrew translation and in accordance with the proper Sound of God’s name by Way of the Tetragrammaton (הוה).
Finally, I Will leave You with ‘The Family’s Central Vision.
God-Led Leadership
The series does seem to Wish to paint a sinister picture of ‘The Family’, and I Will be tall King more about that in the next edition, but this is the Good News Journal, and the series very much supports My belief that God is the only real authority governing this Earth, and that’s a Good thing!
Love and Blessings,
Volume LXXVIII: The Tuesday Tell A Vision Edition; My Interpret-A-Sean of ‘The Family’ Good evening every One, and welcome to the Tuesday 'Tell A Vision' Edition of The Good News Journal, I am Great-Full to have You here with Me.

Poster Girl [Chapter 1] - A Poster Boy Companion Fic
A/N: so as you may have guessed, this is a companion fic for Poster Boy, this time more-or-less from Poe's perspective so yeah. nice. hopefully? anyway here u go. also i know that this chapter is in third person but that might change i'm not really sure atm. also i have no idea how this turned out. ALSO this companion fic will hint at bits and pieces not featured in Poster Boy for obvious reasons.
A/N 2: wow writing this was surreal. we've come so far since Poe and the reader disliked each other like this.

"Red Squadron, Ivory Squadron, you’re up." I shout to the pilots lounging around the hangar. It was supposed to just be a simple defense mission, holding off oncoming First Order forces while the personnel stationed on Hoth could evacuate. The red squadron are already by their X-Wings, while the larger Ivory Squadron take a moment longer, seeming to have had to break up their chat mid conversation.
These are good pilots, and they waste no time in arriving at the set destination. The Hoth system is home to a small Resistance outpost in addition to the old ruins of the Rebel Alliance’s Echo Base. Coming out of hyperspace gives us a full view of the icy planet and the small scale fight happening just outside. A small squadron of X-Wing Starfighters, the Azure Squadron, had been stationed at the Hoth outpost are already fighting.
"Alright, here we go. Lock S-Foils in attack position.“ I command my pilots. It only takes a moment for the TIE Fighters to notice the backup, and, unfortunately, these pilots aren't too bad themselves.
"This is Azure Four, requesting backup! I’ve got a whole lot of TIEs on my tail here!” Calls out the voice of one of the pilots from Hoth.
"BB-09, lock onto Azure Four’s position.“ One of my pilots speak up, though it's not a voice that I’m particularly familiar with. "This is Ivory One. I’m on my way.” And that would be the reason why. I’m closer to the Red and Blue squadrons. All the pilots knew each other, but the Ivory squadron kept to themselves just a little more than the others.
Still, it's only natural for me to feel at least a bit of concern for my comrades when they dive in to do something dangerous, which is why I watch this Ivory pilot as they swoop in to save Azure Four. I have my own enemies to take down, but I still see how they quickly and cleanly destroy the TIE Fighters on the X-Wing's tail, even going as far as to show off and throw a little loop in there. Small details, but it's enough for me to crack a smile. Hearing my pilots safe and happy is music to the my ears, so hearing the gleeful laughter of Ivory One through the comms works to broaden my smile.
"That was some fancy flying, Ivory One. Thanks for the save.“ Azure Four's voice says over the comms.
"Just doing what I can.” The prior mentioned pilot replies, almost humbly.
"The laughter as you shot those ships down really made the moment.“ Their comrade - Jenn, I remember - jokes.
"What can I say, Ivory Three? I love my job.” Ivory One responds, and I can practically hear the grin in her voice.
The banter between the pilots vanishes as more First Order forces appear. My frown is deep as I recognise the old Star Destroyer entering the battle. A damn old ship for an organisation as well funded as the First Order. The General had mentioned that the personnel stationed on the Hoth outpost were coming very close to figuring out what to do with the information the Resistance had gathered on Luke Skywalker, but she failed to elaborate further, simply saying that everyone was being transferred to the main headquarters as a safety precaution. When the main base on D'Qar received the S.O.S, however, it quickly became clear that the First Order had caught drift of the Resistance's findings. So, sending in this much fire power? Desperate, but not entirely surprising. Sending in technology as flawed as that of a Star Destroyer? Well...
My mind races, the voices of my comrades background noise. It's a Star Destroyer; everyone has heard the stories of how they were destroyed. The enemy must be developing something new - data on this model of ship was old now - or they were trying to clear out their old stock for something new. Either way, it doesn't look good.
"Alright, listen up everyone. Ivory Two, Four, Five, make sure those TIE Fighters don’t get near that Star Destroyer. Ivory Three, Six, deal with those turbolasers. Azure Squadron, am I correct in thinking you still consist of six pilots?” The commanding, if not slightly pissed off voice of Ivory One breaks me from my thoughts. What in the name of the Force was she doing? She should know the consequences of usurping a commanding officer in a situation like this.
Another thought comes to mind, and I cringe inwardly at myself. I was usually better than this. Usually I was focused enough to do my job and give orders.
"Yes, Ivory Leader.“ I raise my brows at this new development from the Azure Squadron. Ivory Leader, hey?
"I need Azure One and Two to deal with those deflector shield generator globes. Azure Three, Four, help my team with those armaments - focus on the ion cannons. Azure Five, Six, help keep those TIEs off our tails.” Ivory Leader instructs. They certainly seem to have relaxed into the role quickly, bossing the team around with such certainty in their actions and firing shots at the Star Destroyer's defense system. Ivory One... Ivory One... who was that? Oh. Right. Lieutenant Y/N Y/L/N. Alright then, Lieutenant, not bad so far, but let's see how you deal with the rest of this mission.
"Red Squadron, bring down those armaments. Take out any TIE that gets too close. Red Four, watch my back. Keep an eye out for Ivory Leader, too.“ Okay, maybe the bitterness was a bit uncharacteristic and uncalled for, I'll admit, but she is kind of taking my job here, so it was more or less justified.
While Lieutenant Y/L/N circles back around the Star Destroyer, I swoop in, targeting one of the shield generators. From a ship like his, it doesn't take much to bring down the already damaged orb. Azure Two announces the destruction of of the generator they were targeting. "This is Black Leader. The shield generators are down, Ivory One.“ I inform the Lieutenant, reminding her of her place, knowing fully well that she saw them destroyed.
As I take out any TIE Fighter getting too close to the ship, I keep a close eye on the X-Wing belonging to Ivory One. It swoops round the ship and into position, constantly firing at the bridge of the Star Destroyer. Finishing it off, they finally hit it with the X-Wing’s torpedoes, activating their shield as they fly through the flames of the bridge. As they swerve around in a wide arc, directing their firepower towards the remaining TIE Fighters, Lieutenant Y/L/N whoops and laughs as the enemy warship begins to sink towards the frozen wasteland that is Hoth. My attitude softens, hearing the genuine excitement at the defeat of an enemy like that.
Okay, maybe I was being a little unfair. She was just filling my space while my mind was elsewhere. Even the teasing of her teammates doesn't bring her down.
"Azure One, send a message down to Hoth informing them of this scrap,“ I notice the Lieutenant quickly pipe down as I speak, and I honestly feel just the tiniest bit guilty. "Not bad, Ivory One, but next time leave the commanding to me."
"Right. Sorry, Sir." They reply, voice quieter, almost regretful. Okay, yeah, now I definitely feel guilty.
The area surrounding Hoth seems to be clear of First Order ships, and going through the motions as we return to base doesn't take long. Arriving on D'Qar, the pilots touch down on the landing strip, a small crowd gathered to congratulate us. Quick to exit my ship, I soak up the attention before heading to speak to General Organa. I can't help but glance back at the X-Wing belonging to Lieutenant Y/N Y/L/N, seeing her mentally prepping herself for whatever happens next.
"She knew what would happen, but she did it anyway." I murmur to myself, but the General hears me anyway.
"So would you, if your commanding officer was taking too long to respond in a situation like that," Leia gives me a look, a quiet and subtle scolding. It's brief, and the grey-haired woman turns her attention back to the other pilot quickly, calling her over. "Lieutenant Y/N Y/L/N, I'd like to have a word." The girl's friends pat her on the back and hurriedly leave.
"How can I help, General?" Lieutenant Y/L/N asks. With her helmet tucked casually under her arm, her body language relaxed, you'd guess she wasn't at all nervous. Not that that's actually the case, though. The three of us begin to walk through the corridors of the base.
"Usually somebody would be punished for disobeying the orders of their commanding officer and even giving orders of their own,” The General casts a sideways glance at me as I walk beside her on her left. “However, the orders you gave were more than suitable and the mission succeeded, so this time you’re off the hook. In fact, your actions may just earn you some recognition.”
Though I don’t look at her, I hear Y/N's almost silent sigh of relief, catching the slightest smile on her face out of the corner of my eye. Huh. She masked that uncertainty well.
"The mission will be discussed thoroughly. We may have more to tell you at a later date. You are dismissed, Lieutenant.“ General Organa tells the young woman before entering the Command Centre.
"That was some sharp flying out there. You’re not a bad pilot.” I say after a moment, drawing Y/N's attention, surprise flashing in her eyes.
"Thank you, Commander,“ She flashes a weak smile. "And, uh, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have taken control the way I did.” I can feel that there's more she really wants to say, her apology sincere but holding an underlying bitterness.
A thought nags at the back of my mind. She really doesn't like you. What did you do?
"You took down the Star Destroyer, so I’d say your plan was a success. Maybe next time don’t show me up like that in front of my squadron, though,“ I grin at my fellow pilot. Sure, she stole my job back there, but I wasn't the type to hold unnecessary grudges. Besides, she proved herself back there. Even if I am torn about her dislike of me. "And just call me Poe.”
"Oh, right, okay. Thank you, Comman- uh, Poe,“ Y/N fidgets with her helmet. The unexpected interaction has brought out any awkwardness in her personality. "Sorry, I should probably be going.”
We hardly exchange a decent goodbye before she's left. Entering the Command Centre, I’m approached by the General.
"Of course we heard all the comms transmissions, but what do you think?" Leia pries. Yes, she was strategic and cutthroat when necessary, having grown up in the Rebel Alliance, but she had compassion for those risking life and limb for her cause. Maybe not always the best move to make, but acknowledging the opinions and feelings of her Resistance members made it all just that bit more meaningful.
"The pilots listened to her. She knew what she was doing," I say, thinking back. "I've heard the Ivory Squadron mention she was the 'leader' of their team. She not a commanding officer?"
"No. Why? Do you think she should be?" The General inquires. The pause in the conversation couldn't quite be described as hesitation.
"We all saw her plan take down a Star Destroyer. Last time I checked, that was grounds for a promotion," I find myself saying, even if it's more so me asking 'what would be best for the Resistance?' than it is my own opinion. "Even if she did cross the boundaries."
"Well, this is a rebel cause; she was just rebelling a bit." The twinkle in Leia Organa's eye is enough to tell me that she is certainly considering my comment.

What Is Prayer Actually Worth To You?
“The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live” (1 Timothy 2:1-3).
What is your response when someone offers to pray for you? You welcome the prayer, right? Have you ever replied, “No thanks, I don't want your prayer”? Some people may resist the suggestion of prayer for any number of reasons, but most of the time, people welcome prayer. Our congregation’s active prayer list engages us and every week as we share requests and answers to prayer encourage all of us. But how much is prayer actually worth to you?
What is Prayer?:
Prayer may best be described as a conversation with God. While folding our hands is frequently associated with someone praying, hand-folding is not required for God to hear us, of course! Eyes open or closed. Standing, sitting, walking, driving, or any possible activity can be a perfect context for taking to God. Remember, the apostle Paul said to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
Since we can pray anywhere, we can also pray about anything and about the full range of life’s experiences. Alone or with others. No special formula, language, or method is required, either. No practice is necessary to make a connection to God. Just direct your thoughts to God. God even offers the Holy Spirit to help us when we just don't know how to pray (Romans 8:26-27).
Our prayers may be for ourselves or others, silent or spoken aloud, expressed in words, art, music, or dance, or any other medium. Prayer can be urgently offered in crisis or during planned, peaceful, or contemplative moments. Succinct or expansive, and capturing our every possible feeling and emotion, and concerning any and every imaginable situation, prayer with God is an amazing, personalized, way to be in touch with God through Christ.
Prayer In the Bible:
In God’s word, people interacted with God believing that prayer was also a method of changing a situation or themselves for the better. Abraham prayed that God would not destroy the city, Jacob prayed for strength when he was going to a stressful family reunion, Moses prayed for mercy for his people, Joshua confesses his people’s sins, Hannah prayed for a family, Daniel for freedom, Nehemiah for transformation, Job prayed for his friends (Job 42:10) and Solomon prayed for wisdom (1 Kings 3:1-15). The Book of the Psalms is filled with prayers from requests to expressions of anger and sorrow, including intercessions, praise, and thanksgivings. Certainly there must be value to prayer because interacting with the Creator is a real life experience. People correlate praying with results, either experienced inwardly, or externally.
Jesus practiced what he preached about prayer and made it a priority, both in private (Mark 1:15, Matthew 14:23), and in public (Luke 22:32, 41-44), and famously from the cross where he died for the sins of the world, praying, “Father, forgive, them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34). Jesus taught us how to pray (Matthew 6:9-13, Luke 11:1-13), to not use prayer to get attention from others (Matthew 6:5-6), to pray before making an important decision (Luke 6:12-13), to pray boldly (Mark 11:24), and pray for the success of God’s mission (Luke 10:22, Matthew 9:38). Jesus continually prays for us, too! (Romans 8:34). If prayer didn't matter, would Jesus pray?
The letters of the New Testament are similarly filled with reminders of the value of prayer. In James’ letter, “…pray for each other…” because, “the prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with” (James 5:17). The apostle Paul wrote, “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life” (Philippians 4:6-7 The Message). We are to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18), and to pray for our civic leaders and neighbors (1 Timothy 2:1-3, 1 John 5:14-15, 1 Peter 3:12, Colossians 1:9-12).
What About “Thoughts and Prayers”
In our experience, prayers matter to those who enjoy a relationship with God. But can we learn anything about what people ion general think about prayer? Following natural disasters, mass shootings, or catastrophes, politicians and religious leaders often offer up their “thoughts and prayers” to victims. Our nation historically values prayer. For example, both houses of Congress open each session with prayer, the government continues to provide chaplains for the armed forces (an important part of their ministry is prayer), and other civic, public, and private organizations may include prayer in their proceedings. Detractors criticize the phrase, “Our thoughts and prayers are with you,” as meaningless, asserting that prayer offers no real value. In a recent issue of the Journal of the National Academy of Sciences, researchers sought to quantify the value people attributed to prayer. Critics argue that the phrase is cheap, and it doesn't equate to real action. It may be offered to sound like “I really care,” but really means “I won’t do anything.” Christians frequently seek other’s prayers, especially during difficult or painful times.
The researchers took an economic approach to determining the value of thoughts and prayers. (For the full article, “The Value of Thoughts and Prayers,” visit https://www.pnas.org/content/early/2019/09/10/1908268116.)
For example, the findings showed that recipients of prayer often expect some kind of direct benefit (improved health or Increased wealth), or gain feelings of hope and connection to others, or to reduce their anxiety. Participants in the study self-identified as one of three groups: Christian, atheist, or agnostic. In the experiment, they were told that a stranger would be learn about their recent hardship and in return, the participant would receive that stranger’s thoughts and prayers. The experiment evaluated how much the thoughts and prayers mattered to each group. On average, Christian respondents valued the gesture, but nonreligious people negatively valued the gesture when offered by Christians, and were indifferent to receiving the thoughts and prayers from other nonreligious people. The study also suggested that while others may sincerely offer their thoughts and prayers, when no other gesture was offered, its impact was less recognized. Everyone agreed that the words alone were secondary if not also linked to other actions.
Prayer In Motion:
Wait, that sounds like what we read in James’ letter when he wrote about faith in action:
“Dear friends, do you think you’ll get anywhere in this if you learn all the right words but never do anything? Does merely talking about faith indicate that a person really has it? For instance, you come upon an old friend dressed in rags and half-starved and say, “Good morning, friend! Be clothed in Christ! Be filled with the Holy Spirit!” and walk off without providing so much as a coat or a cup of soup—where does that get you? Isn’t it obvious that God-talk without God-acts is outrageous nonsense?” (James 2:16-17).
The bottom line?
Pray. But remember prayer may be like like faith, without a corresponding action is, well, using the words of James, dead. Look for opportunities to do more than pray. Don’t stop sharing with God, listening, and learning with God’s Spirit in community with others. Pray. Do. That’s why faith communities gather…to provide spiritual resources to follow Jesus with energy, intelligence, imagination, and love! There are amazing benefits to prayer, both to the one praying and to the recipients of those prayers. (And when you want to offer prayer for others and want them to know you are prayers, its a great idea to politely ask them if they’d welcome the prayer to begin with. Whatever their response can be a wonderful moment for engagement. Active, authentic prayer is always connected to active, authentic action.
Put your prayers into motion today. Be amazed.

Numbers 22:21-23:30, Luke 1:57-80, Psalms 58:1-11, Proverbs 11:12-13
Today is the 16th day of March. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm Brian. It's lovely to be here with you today from the rolling hills of Tennessee as we all gather around this global campfire that is our community and come together and center ourselves in God's word as it washes over us. I’m jus…there’s not a day that I get up and turn is mic on that I'm not amazed that we get to do this together. And I'm never not amazed at no matter when…you know…you're listening right now…and you're not listening alone. You’re never listening alone. There's always someone else somewhere. We are really in this together as we move through the Scriptures this year. So, let’s dive in. We'll pick up where we left off yesterday and there's this interesting story happening between Balak and Balaam. Numbers chapter 24 and 25 and we’re reading from the Christian Standard Bible this week.
Prayer:
Father, as we prepare to end our work week. We think back on all that You have spoken to us from Your word this week and we think back on all that You have spoken to us in this year so far and You are changing us. We can feel changes happening inside of us. The way that we’re looking at things is beginning to shift because we are aligning ourselves with what You are speaking to us through Your word. And, so, we are so grateful for this gift of community and this gift of Your word. And even as we read of Your birth today, Jesus, we are so humbled that You would care for us enough to come for us to rescue us to restore us. And we confess that we have barely begun to scratch the surface of the wholeness and redemption that You offer. And, so, as we continue to journey through the Scriptures this year we ask that You continue to transform us, that we might be made whole and holy. Come, Holy Spirit. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Announcements:
dailyaudiobible.com is the website. It's home base. It's where you find out what's going on around here. So, a couple things talk about.
The next update for the Daily Audio Bible app has been released. So, if you haven’t updated yet, be sure to update. What this update does is allow you to check off the days that you have listened to yourself. It was one of the challenges that we were having, the automatic check off of days listened to and the confusion around that and we’re still refining that process, but one of the ways of refining that processes is to also allow anyone to check off the days that they’ve listened to themselves. So, that happen a couple of ways. When you are on the days reading page and you push play, at the very bottom you'll see a little check and you can check it off or when you're on the page that just lists all of the days that can be listened to, you can just swipe to the right and click it as completed or you can favorite an episode that way, which will be indicated with a little star so you see the days you’re like yeah, I want to remember this day, I want to be able to go back to this day. And you can favorite it that way. And we've improved a lot of efficiencies and a lot of compatibility issues. So, we’re making progress. It's at…we’re at 1.06. So, we’re just getting started on all of the dreams that we have for the Daily Audio Bible app and all of the dream of making it free. So, if you haven't updated, update and you'll have those features. And we’re busy on 1.07, which will make some further improvements. And that'll be coming soon, but 1.06 is available. You can check off the days that you've listened to by hand, if you want to. And that should be the end of that confusion.
The other thing is that the More Gathering for women is coming up on April 12th, so we’re just under a month away and you can still register. This year for the first time of the More Gathering we will have a person who will be signing…a couple people…will be signing what’s spoken. So, if you have hearing challenges or would like to bring someone that has some hearing challenges, we have those who will be interpreting into sign language and we’re excited about that. You can get the details for the More Gathering at moregathering.com. Everything that you would want to know, need to know can be found there. So, check that out.
If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible, you can do that it dailyaudibible.com. There is a link that lives on the homepage. Thank you, humbly, truly, deeply for your partnership. If you're using the Daily Audio Bible, you can press the Give button in the upper right-hand corner or, if you prefer, the mailing address is PO Box 1996 Spring Hill Tennessee 37174.
And as always if you have a prayer request or comment there are some numbers that you can use depending on where you are in the world. If you are in the Americas 877-942-4253 is the number to call. If you're in the UK or Europe 44-20-3608-8078 is the number. If you are in Australia or that part of the world, 61-3-8820-5459 is the number to call.
And that's it for today. I am Brian I love you and I'll be waiting for you here tomorrow.
Community Prayer and Praise:
Hi family. This is his little Sharee in Canada. And I haven’t called for a couple of weeks. I haven’t been well. I have some ongoing health things that flare up once in a while. And, so, for a couple of weeks I’ve been struggling with my sleep and some other issues, neurological issues. And I just wanted to ask for prayer. Would you have time to say a quick prayer for me? I also heard Joyful Noise talk about the fact that her health has not been good lately. Joyful Noise I think you said that it was high blood pressure and you’ve never had that before so I’m going to be praying for you. Many of us seem to be getting hit in our house and so let’s just link arms and pray for another’s health. And thank you so much family. I appreciate your love and prayers And I’ll talk you again soon. Bye for now.
Hello Daily Audio Bible community this is Diane Olive B. Brown from Newburgh Indiana saying shalom, shalo – peace, peace. There is nothing missing. There is nothing, no thing missing and no thing broken. I thank You Father for that. And I pray and believe second Corinthians 4 and 7. However, I possess this precious treasure, this divine light of the gospel in my frail human vessel of earth that the grander and exceeding greatness of the power that be shown to be from God and not from me. And I thank You Father God for Psalm 23. You prepare a table for me in the very presence of my enemy. And it reminds me of some wisdom that a friend of mine gave me to stop looking at the devil’s and enemies under the table, to stop putting my emphasis on them and emphasize the food that he’s prepared before me. Oh, meatloaf of peace, mashed potatoes of joy, and apple crisp of love. And all the things and joys and enjoy them enjoy them. I also want to pray for the lady whose husband died on…
Good morning DAB family this is Michael from Mesa. I’ll clarify that by saying from East East Mesa out in Arizona because hopefully soon I’m from West Mesa so that I can be a lot closer to work. I’ve got about an hour drive. So, asking for prayers for wisdom in the move and the house, the budgeting and all of those things. Also, just an update. I know a while, while back I mentioned that my son was in jail. And he had his hearing yesterday, his parole hearing. And it was very hard and very sad to understand at that point that really in a lot of ways I’m going to have to live as a split family. He cannot come home. He cannot have contact with the family. And that will be for life or for many, many, many years. And, so, it’s heartbreaking to know that I have family but am a bit family-less on that side. If you could pray for my son. His name is Ryan. He needs lots and lots of prayer. He I think is growing closer to Christ or I think ion that direction. It’s really hard to tell what is real status is. So, if you could just pray for Ryan. And Pelham I just wanted to reach out Pelham with a word of encouragement buddy. Love your wife every day. Give everything you can from your heart to just love her and to help her understand that what you’re doing is loving her. And for all marriages, guys, just reach out like crazy to let help your wife. Let them know that you love them. Love you all so much. You are my friends. Talk to you soon. Michael from Mesa.
Family it’s been a really long time. It’s Jane from New York. Just calling to kind of give an update. I’m out of work. My job finished a couple weeks ago. I’m waiting for __ to kick in. Just trying to go where I should go, walk or a walk, talk to why should and go where the Lord is leading me. Very difficult living in my house with my friend who is now an atheist and just literally all day that he’s with me every minute and evening is just blaspheming the name of Jesus. I try not to really, you know, get into discussion with him but, you know, he just does it all the time. So, yeah, I just need to prayers and I just thank everyone that calls in. You know, I don’t know you by name but I’m up to date on what’s going in people’s lives. The praise reports are awesome and just the needs of the family. You know, I do pray in agreement. I have a couple of __ involved in in New York. Tonight I’m going to go to a young life prayer group, which is awesome. I’m really excited about starting with them. I have a friend sisterhood who’s listening to the DAB. Yay! My mom listens. I just love this podcast. Pray for me guys. Love you. Bye.
Hi this is Debbie from Texas I’m calling for prayer for my daughter Susanna. She’s 18. Due to custody battles she’s been on her own since she’s been 14. She’s been raped, abused, threatened, and dumped. She knows Jesus but right now she doesn’t trust Him. She feels He’s completely let her down. She needs deliverance from drugs, abusive relationships, homosexuality, and fear. She’s being threatened by a violent X and she needs safety. Please pray for her complete deliverance and her healing. Lord Jesus, I just thank You for this community and for the body of believers, that we can get together Lord God and pray, and that we can lift each other up. I ask You to protect this ministry and just bless everybody involved in it. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Tales of the Stage -Last Score- Event Report [September 5, 2017]
Went to yesterday’s show at Nakano Sun Plaza! The whole event ran for approximately two hours and was very much enjoyable! My friends and I were seated pretty close to the stage and that definitely added to my enjoyment factor, I would say. More details under the cut!
For the most part, the stage play's contents up to the Absorption Gate were more or less the same as whatever it is was performed during Day 1 of TOF2017. I wrote about that one sometime back. Some differences I remember from the TOF2017 airing would be the Van hypnotizing Luke dance number getting cut short, the Sync and Legretta battle getting shortened. Also, no more Jade vs Van dance battle. At least Jade still got to do his acrobatics, and man, did Van have a lot of dance numbers. I counted three, possibly more. He also gets his human chairs during the Absorption Gate scene.
As for more specific differences between the game and the stage play, they definitely cut a lot of the scenes and edited some bits to make it flow better in a 2-hour adaptation. They also limited the number of cast members, like, only Legretta, Sync, and Asch were around in terms of the Six-God Generals, so Arietta, Largo, and Dist's parts had to be either cut out or relegated--but mostly cut out.
Differences that I can recall off the top of my head are as follows:
Luke and Tear land in Cheagle Woods instead of Tataroo Valley
Instead of Largo, Legretta is the one that uses the fonslot seal on Jade, not that it stops him much because for some reason Jade spends a lot more time doing hand-to-hand combat over here compared to using his spear or artes
The "bring along Natalia or not" scene pre-Akzeriuth goes down slightly differently, with a lot more friction between the girls. Anise was especially extra, it's pretty great ahaha. Poor Guy also got terrorized by the ladies after he made an untimely side comment about them being scary (iirc).
Since the Tartarus isn't really introduced here and there's no core shenanigans, Sync doesn't do the falling into the core thing and commits suicide with what I think to be Guy's sword after it's revealed he's a replica of the original Ion. He doesn't come back after that.
Tear and Ion are the ones that do something about the Sephiroth instead of Luke and his hyperresonance.
Ion and Asch are the ones that realize something is off when Van falls during the Absorption Gate scene
The party is split up during the post-Absorption Gate scene. Luke, Tear, Anise are the ones present for Ion's death, which is super dramatic and a huge tear-jearker. The Anise stage actor was sooooo good in this. Also Mohs goes crazy after the score reading instead (when he learns of the destruction of Auldrant) and seems to explode (and die?) offscreen, because we don't see him again after that. In the meantime though, Jade, Guy, Natalia get a scene discussing stuff regarding the Malkuth soldiers that got attacked, etc. (since the Frings stage actor wasnt here, he got replaced by a generic soldier)
There was no Tower of Rem scene at all and they skipped to Eldrant pretty quickly. They stuck the whole "Luke getting sentenced to death" part before Eldrant, and also stuck Jade's backstory around that part. There's no Nephry to info-dump Luke though, so it's Jade of his own volition that gave it. Just to Luke.
Also there's this new (?) scene and/or maybe Jade was given the lines of someone else, but yeah as I recall, Luke asks Jade a question after he reveals his connection to replicas, and he replies with something like "Anata wa anata desu" (you're you), and Luke thanks him.
Stuff at Eldrant were spiced up a bit, i.e. the party did get split before fighting Van. We got to see them use their mystic artes at various points, it's pretty great. Jade's Indignation chant was very awesome.
While Asch was getting stabbed like, multiple times by the Oracle Knight soldiers, he got the opportunity to pull off a Rending Saber before dying. It was a sad kind of awesome. ALSO they had Natalia find Asch's body, and boy, was that an interesting and dramatic twist. My heart ached at that part.
Luke actually got to fight Van first one-on-one before getting owned by a Mystic Arte, and that's when the rest of the party comes along and tries to defeat Van. But of course it's all up to the shounen protag to do it so yeah Luke eventually gets to do the honors after he rises up.
Even if there was no Tower of Rem though, they really did the "please come back" post-Van defeat scenes really well. As far as I remember it's faithful to how I remember the lines to be, and heck, even Jade's handshake with Luke was kept. Though speaking of things that weren't kept, I don't think I heard Tear's "I love you" as they were leaving. I COULD BE WRONG THOUGH.
They kept Mr. Ending in the dark a lot, but Luke's armband's pretty noticeable under the coat as with bits of Luke's costume and what not so. Yeah, it’s the Luke stage actor under the coat.
Impressions and some thoughts:
This play is a love letter to fans of the game, I would say. In the sense that it's so worth it to watch for the nostalgia trip over getting a coherent story, I feel. I mean, the story does work, but at the same time they don't really do a good job of making you feel connected to the characters and their plight, so you're gonna need some sort of background like having played the game or watched the anime in order to be able to appreciate the stage play and feel invested in the dramatic scenes, etc.
As for the actors, I'd say people are on point! Anise among the ladies really stole the show though, I feel. I already touched in my old post regarding my impressions of the cast and it more or less stands.
I'm personally a little sad they cut out half the Six-God Generals since that also means cutting plot material and backstory shit in half, but I do understand it's something that can't be helped given their time frame and budget constraints, I'd say. But they made it work, and what they had out there was great and I'm really entertained by it.
And if I were to compare this to the one they performed last TalesFes, I'd say I actually enjoyed the one they did last TalesFes more than the one I watched today. But I think that's mostly due to the surprise factor since I wasn't expecting stuff like dancing Van and acrobatic Jade. In terms of completeness, this one's definitely a lot more "complete" than the one they did last TalesFes.
Still, despite my gripes about the stage play, overall I really did enjoy it! It's something I definitely don't mind seeing a second or even a third or fourth time around. I could only hope that we eventually get this on DVD or BluRay--it's a treat for any Tales of the Abyss fan and I feel really blessed for the opportunity to see this live and up close.

My thoughts on Tales of the Abyss Part 1
Been about 1 week since I finished Tales of the Abyss, I feel like ranting about it. I’ll be talking about the themes of the game below, including one that I don’t see people talk about, which is the ability to embrace change.
Now, now, I know that Tales of the Abyss has the whole “circumstances of your birth don’t define how you should live” and “you don’t need a purpose to live” themes going on, but I feel like there’s another one that I haven’t seen being talked about... at all. I feel like another important lesson Tales of the Abyss tells is that it’s important to move on from the past and to embrace change.
Think about it. The party members don’t have a past they’re happy about, I mean, they all have tragic backstories. But instead of letting their pasts define their present and future, they just accept the past, learn from it, and move on.
Luke didn’t even have a past, but still, he lives on despite that. Guy, oh Guy, he is a great example of this. Instead of letting his hatred and desire for revenge consume him, he chooses to forgive and walk a path with his friends. He’ll never be happy about the past, and he can’t forgive everything, but he’ll accept his past. Jade, he’s terribly unhappy with his past. He hates how he created fomicry, but we can see that by the end of the game, he’s accepted that he is the faher of fomicry, and he wants to use those same skills that created fomicry (a terrible thing) to put fomicry to good use.
Then we have the antagonists, the Six God-Generals. Arietta. She can’t accept that she was demoted from Fon Master Guardian and as such, she can’t move on. She can’t accept Ion’s change. Dist especially is a great example. Jade’s learned from his mistakes, but Dist? He can’t let go of the past, as shown by how he wants to revive Neblim. Largo can’t move on from his wife and daughters “death” (though to be fair, I think he has a pretty good reason).
Then there’s Asch. Luke goes through so much development, but Asch? He refuses to change. He can’t accept that Luke is his own person, that Luke is not a replacement. He still holds some attachment over being Van’s pupil, despite all that Van has done and will do if nobody stops him.
Then there’s the Score. Humanity had relied on the Score so much, to the point where people are useless without it. When Kimlasca, Malkuth and even Daath abandoned the Score, many were angry and left hopeless. Mohs couldn’t imagine a life without the Score. And... well, we all know what happened to him.
Humanity needed to learn how to survive in the Qliphoth, how to survive without the Score, how to deal with the replicas. And by clinging to old, foolish ideologies, they wouldn’t be able to change and be left in the past.
Then there’s Abyss’ main theme, “finding the purpose behind one’s own birth”. This is heavily centered around Luke, naturally, and I really like how the theme implies that you need a purpose to live, but I like how in Luke’s case, he doesn’t need a clear-cut goal or purpose or motive to live. He’s Luke and he’s living just because he can. He wants to live, even if he has no right to (or at least, even if he thinks he has no right to).
Then we have the “circumstances of your birth don’t define how you live your life / who you are”, which is... amazing. Luke was born as a replica, as a tool, and he was raised to be such. Luke spends a lot of the game wondering what his purpose to live is and wondering if it’s his fate to die, since he was never meant to be born. But then we see the events at the Tower of Rem, where he does want to live because he has made friends, and memories and left a lasting impact. He was born as a replacement, a tool, but he didn’t live as one.
We also have Natalia. Who... well... the game’s characters can say it better than I can. “The people of Baticul don’t love the princess. They love Natalia” and “No one is born a princess. Only though diligence does one achieve the dignity and grace required of that title”.
Then we’ve also got the whole “the future is yours to create / creating an independent future”. Dependency is a huge problem for characters in Abyss. Luke and Van, Natalia and Asch, Arietta and Ion, humanity and the Score... Only when characters learn to be independent do they finally change for the better. Luke was so dependent on Van, and did he get punished for that. He was always following the orders of other characters, but we see him gradually begin to make his own decisions, to live his own life. Humanity had been following the Score for ages, reliant on the Score and believing the Score will bring them prosperity, just because it said it would. With the destruction of the Score, humanity begins to craft their own future and their own prosperity, instead of believing that it will come “just because”. Nothing good ever happens to characters who can’t make their own decisions and it’s proven over and over.
Was this terribly unscripted? Would my English teacher be disappointed in me? Yes and yes. But I love talking about the lessons Tales of the Abyss can teach. There’s so much to search and analyze inside the game and there are a lot of things that can really stick with you. I can only hope to create a form of fiction that is as wonderful as Abyss.

My Thoughts on Tales of the Abyss Part 2
I’ll be talking about our two favourite redheads and the general party of Abyss here (not each character individually, just the party as a whole). Warning: I wrote this while half-awake, I don’t think it makes sense to even me.
Let’s get right into it: I love the Abyss party. They hate each other so much and yet they care about each other so much. I love the group’s development and how their “companionship” is tested time and time again (Luke and Akzeriuth, Anise’s betrayal, learning the truth about the party members…) They started off as something less than allies, then it grew to so much more. I love them. They’re the perfect blend of assholes to each other and great friends.
But, like anything else, the party has its flaws too. I’ve been giving it some thought  and I’ve noticed that the party can be quite cruel at times. To who? To Luke. Pre-Akzeriuth, I can understand. I can relate with Luke and the party members and it wasn’t easy dealing with Luke. They did understand his situation (Tear’s behaviour immediately changing after Luke said that he needed to remember his parent’s faces) but it was too much of a challenge. Yes, they hid things from Luke and purposely did not tell him anything and then almost berated him for knowing nothing, but they have their limits too. There’s not really anybody in the wrong here, so it does irk me when the party 100% blames Luke for Akzeriuth. Guy is the only character that I can safely say does not blame Luke 100%, but the other party members failed to understand Luke’s situation.
He idolized Van, they’re aware of it, there’s a skit about it where the party is wondering what Luke is writing in his diary and Guy mockingly says, “Master Van did this. Master Van did that. Master Van is so cool”.And they know that Luke was ignorant, but they didn’t really trust each other, so it made sense that Luke wouldn’t confide in them about a secret his Master told him. Hell, Tear defended Mohs the same way Luke defended Van. Luke was the one who destroyed Akzeriuth, but who made him destroy it? Van. And who was blamed entirely for it? Luke. Now that I’m thinking about it, Van was never truly blamed for Akzeriuth. Now that is a flaw in the writing here, I believe. The party knows how to blame the true culprit. They blamed Mohs instead of Anise. But Luke instead of Van? Come now.
And while I wished the party went easier on each other sometimes, there really was no time to. The war, going into the core, the replicas, there was no time for the party to rest and to fall back and become a burden. So, they had no choice. Ion was really the one who was always making sure everyone was okay, save for himself and Guy is Team Mom so of course he tried to cut some characters some slack, but that was about it. Not complaining, just stating an observation.
Either way, I adore the party from Abyss. All logic says they should hate each other and well, they do (ask any character from the party, “Who do you want to slap?” and if they’re not Guy - except for Luke - Tear or Ion, they’d say “everyone), but they know how to work together, not only because of a shared ideology, but because they grow to care for each other in the same way that their individual characters grow.
But enough about the party, we have two redheads to talk about.
Tumblr media
 Luke Fon Fabre
“[I care] because he’s an idiot. He’s an idiot, but he’s [our] idiot.”
Contrary to a lot of people, I didn’t hate Luke pre-Akzeriuth. I humoured him, found him amusing. I really didn’t mind him all that much. Yes, he was a douche, but it was nice to see a character that was outright douchey and didn’t care. The only thing that really irritated me was how impatient he would become at times, like when characters were trying to explain concepts to him. I could also relate a lot to his character. The others treated him as though he was stupid and while he was… sheltered, ignorant, you can’t call somebody stupid for not knowing how to function in an unfamiliar world or for not learning everything at the speed of light. Luke only began to irritate me when he began to blindly follow and idolize Van, only because I have a problem with that type of behaviour in the first place, heh.
But after Akzeriuth, I was shocked until the very end of the game whenever Luke would do something selfless or say something, dare I say, smart. He must have felt crushed, seeing his friends go with the original instead of him, and that must have really threw him into reality when he realized how lonely he was. His Master betrayed him, he didn’t have any friends, ouch ouch.
But he showed that he could change. Sure, he was still clueless and a bit rash, but he was trying. Luke’s character development is amazing. He doesn’t blame the other characters, he blames himself and while he does hate himself for what he did, he tries to repair his friendships, he tries and tries to build back bonds and compensate for what he’s done. That’s something admirable.
Tumblr media
Asch the Bloody
“You can’t possibly understand how I feel. You stole my past and my future!”
aka “he needs a hug and a therapist”
No, really, Asch’s life has been nothing but terrible. I can’t even begin to imagine how it feels to be replaced and I think that’s one of the reasons why Asch refuses to see / admit that Luke is a real person, a different person, something more than a substitute. He’s sentimental, as seen by how he reminisces on memories with Guy and Natalia especially, but he has quite the temper. Naturally. I love those lone-wolf characters that help the party sometimes and fight them those other times, always in the shadows… There’s not much to say about his character other than I think everything, or a lot of what he says and does is justified. There is one quote that’s interesting to me, though. “You stole my past and my future.”
The former is easy to understand. Luke stole his past. His friends, family, girlfriend, status, name, identity, everything. But, he also stole his future. Asch lived only as a tool for Van, then only to stop Van. He would do anything to stop Van, even if it would cost him his life. I believe he says that Luke stole his future because after they stop Van, where does Asch go? He’s no longer a God-General, he got dismissed for not obeying military-somethings, he can’t exactly go back to Baticul now that everything belongs to Luke and he’s just a shadow, he has nowhere to go — which is probably why he was so intent on dying at the Tower of Rem. Poor Asch. He deserves so much more. Really, I’d say that he’s willing to be friends with Natalia and by friends I mean he wants to be her boyfriend yes I am aschtalia trash)
Luke and Asch’s parallels and symbolism is so interesting and fun to explore. Asch is one of the major characters behind Luke’s character development and we can see that clearly. Luke begins to see himself as less than a human when he finds out that Asch is the original and all his friends went with the original, cue Luke’s identity crisis. Luke was just like Asch, but then he began to change once he saw how his attitude was affecting everyone and everything. He cut his hair to physically show that he was different. He was letting go of his past self. That was Luke accepting that he was more than a replica.
Asch kept his hair long and never once did his personality change. In fact, it seemed to get worse (He yelled “shut up” to Natalia… q_q). When you compare this with Luke, you can really see how different they’ve become. In my last post, I talked about how one of TotA’s themes is acceptance of the past and the willingness to change. Luke was willing to change. Asch? Not so much. He was completely bitter and while that was for a good reason, it meant that he couldn’t live on. Those that clung to the Score (Mohs) or their pasts (Dist, Arietta) fell because they couldn’t live in the present and Asch is no different.
This is just a simple comparison, and I could do an in-depth one, but it’s a struggle to actually put it in comprehensible terms instead of just screeching. This post is long enough anyway. I’ll talk about the 6 party members next (yes, 6. Ion is a party member okay). If you’re still here, wow, thank you for dealing with my terrible rant.
...oh, how could I forget to mention? Mr. Ending. Who did I think came back?
BOTH
Luke appeared at Tataroo Valley, Asch appeared somewhere else, they both survived because Lorelei did something I don’t care if it makes no sense THEY DESERVE A HAPPY ENDING OKAY
