Disco Kid Week appreciation from @artformationcoreir

Ignore how long I took with this, life and getting sick TWICE has made me busy.

Day 1: Took some inspo from some old 80’s clothing I did some research on. I chose the 80s since Disco Kid seems to really love the 80s/90s vibe with his boxing persona. 

Day 2 + Day 3: This one should be obvious lol. Made this a comic as well to get day 3 out the way too. Also Ghost Aran is based off the Luigi’s mansion ghosts, since they’re canon to the Punch Out universe. 

Day 6: I feel like Disco Kid likes MORE than just the Disco genre, and he actually has an appreciation for most music. He just happens to be in a disco phase, he’ll probably find another music genre to base his personality off one day. I think naturally he loves music, and so he joined the performing arts as a kid, specially tap dancing and playing instruments (he seems like a saxophone guy). Based off his opening cutscenes, Disco Kid seems to be well-off, so I think he grew up in a rich family and was forced into growing up faster than he should’ve. (and like many others, I do think Kid Quick is his dad.) I think his dad really only cared about boxing, and so he pushed Disco Kid into following the same career path (he didn’t want to, but he didn’t really have a say.) 

Day 7: Decided to draw genderbent Discoaran for funsies since that’s the only personal version I think I have of them.

I decided to make this post to compile everything that has to do with my very first story, starting, obviously, with the links to the chapters that are available to read both on Tumblr and on AO3:

This story was written and published over a period of six months and it's the first one I've ever posted since I started being active on Tumblr late last year. The first chapter was shared on 20th December 2023, the second on 10th January 2024, and the third and last one, on 16th June 2024.

It's a fanfic based on Luigi's Mansion and it has become my most popular and liked story, which I'm obviously so grateful for! It even got art made for it, which you can see in two different posts:

I'm not anywhere near normal about him. tread carefully.

yeah yeah space jigen is the 5th (or maybe 6th? idk my various first and second-hand sources all switch between the two a bit) of his name in canon but canon doesn't exist so he's jigen the 3rd. haha get it. like lu-

daisuke was a well-liked name in this family I guess. the very wonderful and talented author203's work with jigen over on ao3 made me physically unable to imagine him with a son so bam!!💥 he had a daughter. and then jigen #2 had one too. and #3 will too but shhhh that's for later

I don't have any big ideas for what the intermediate generations look(ed) like yet (except kyoko being a redhead) but it'd be funny if jigen #2 looked nothing like og jigen and then #3 ended up being. literally exactly like him. genetics are weird as fuck so it could happen

theres not much to space jigen in canon from what I can tell. if I had to make a comparison tho he's like cagliostro jigen (- me, who hasn't seen it yet), relatively chill with a heart of gold but kind of a gremlin too. but here's what I think makes him tick :)

he's japanese-italian and an earth-born

dad is a lunar soldier and mom is a biologist (this man got NONE of mama's brains though lmao)

space jigen is such a softie on the inside. so sentimental, so empathetic, and always looking out for those he cares about

really wishes he were a family man <3

5'10" king with the miyazaki-patented snatched waist

mom taught him how to shoot, surprisingly (or unsurprisingly. she is related to the daisuke jigen so)

knew lupin since they were kids. not because their parents introduced them or anything, but because they just so happened to be in the same class and immediately hit it off. these two losers only grew closer as they grew up together and then lupin was like "hey you wanna solve crimes together" and jigen was like "fuck it sure" yadda yadda time is a flat circle

definitely autistic and probably has adhd and is very undiagnosed (the adhd is me projecting)

possibly even more of a romantic than og jigen. he's bi + demisexual. yes, he has had many failed romances of his own except one but shhhh that doesn't matter yet, and no, he hasn't learned from any of his mistakes

kind of a selfish brat at times. if you go out to eat with him and order an appetizer, he WILL eat all the onion rings if no one stops him

he has a huuuuge sweet tooth. you thought the lollipops were an oral fixation? well they are but this guy is a sugar fiend. asks if he can have a bite of your dessert when he's already devoured his and licked the plate clean 20 seconds after getting his grubby hands on it, sugar fiend. do not tell him you have chocolate ice cream in the fridge when you have him over because it will be gone by tomorrow morning. yes, it has bitten him in the ass once or twice

complainmaxxing is his favorite pastime. and puzzles! theres always at least one 1000 piece jigsaw out somewhere in the arsene and co headquarters that he swears he's working on and that no one can put away because he "already spent so friggin' long on it" and he's "just been too busy to work on it" (jigen we haven't had a new case in weeks)

likes space westerns. romcoms are a guilty pleasure (don't let the guys find out)

has a soft spot for working group dogs. why? they're strong, loyal, and love unconditionally

ghosts freak him out. bro can't even play luigi's mansion with the lights off

firearms special interest got genetically transferred to him. but this is the future so he's into laser rifles and portal guns and shit. armed spacecraft too

taught lupin how to fight for realsies

where'd he learn to fight? dad made him do karate as a kid. he preferred practicing at the shooting range

banned from the local laser tag arena for being too good. shooting at each other out in the vacuum of space is funner anyway

stubborn just like his peepaw. he complains a lot but if it directly affects him he is eerily silent. toxic masculinity ftw‼️

I try to imagine him as being like og jigen but not as depressed/traumatized to try and fit in line with the ✨family friendliness✨ of viii, so he's a little more emotionally available and whatnot. look at those kind eyes. such a sweetie pie

Want to show both E.H. and Villain! E.H.'s monstrous forms and explain them?

For those of you who wonder, "if E.H is not a human, what is she? Some sort of black eye girl?"

Allow me to explain

E.H is an entity called a Hollowed walker.

Basically an entity that can remove the removable parts of their body, including jaw, chest, and of course their own face, and after they remove their parts, they release a black liquidity substance that can take the form of anything, including a giant spider

Examples are: When E.H takes off her mask and needs to release something for defense, it can lead up to Phase 1

Phase 1 is what comes out from behind the mask. Just the same size, but slimy (Like Goouigi from Luigi's mansion 3, but pretty damn powerful)

If threatened, she can move onto phase 2

Phase 2: An eel-like lamprey sludge being that can slither faster than a regular snake and has a bite force similar to the Dunkleosteus' bite force. Once threatened and pushed too far, she can go to her 3rd phase.

Phase 3: A colossal spider-like centaur that can easily wipe out a huge building within a few swipes or scratches. The average spider can run at the speed of 1.2 mph, while phase 3 of E.H's monstrous form can reach up to the speed of 3.4 mph. It can eat up to over 150 lbs a day and still maintain her size.

The same cannot be said for Evil! E.H's monstrous forms.

They look similar, just that they need an upgrade or two. But they have bite forces greater than the originals.

i noticed that king boo goes from missing his two front teeth in the original luigi's mansion to having the normal four boo teeth in subsequent games, then i noticed his fake clones in 3's final boss fight have the missing 2 teeth so i was going to make a post about king boo using ghost dentures, THEN i noticed that all the OTHER boos in the original luigi's mansion are ALSO missing their two front teeth, and now i'm just like. huh. what happened there.

Are There 2 King Boos?

There is a theory that there is 2 King Boos, and explain the 2 different appearances of King Boos we see in the series. It is argued that King Boo the King Boo we see in most games is a different a different kind of King Boo with different behaviors than Luigi's Mansion King Boo.

People point out that King Boo in Luigi's Mansion and his Boos seem to be far more aggressive and aren't shy like the other King Boo and his Boos.

However, there is some information that seems to indicate that they are the same character. First off there is a card for Super Sluggers that talks about King Boo being the same one from Luigi's Mansion. However, the lore relevance of a card is questionable. So in the Mario Kart Wii Prima Official Game Guide on page 28 it it is revealed it's the same King Boo. "After Luigi foiled King Boo high atop a mansion, he was furious." Note, the Prima Game Guides have more input and useful information than something like Nintendo Power.

However, there is indeed a second King Boo. In Super Mario Sunshine there is a King Boo created by the Bowser Jr.'s paint brush. Like Sunshine's Petey, this one is a copy of the original. But at the same time, the paint does seem to have a connection to the ghost. Follow Up
