like, you would think as someone who is chronically ill to the point that my meds say "absolutely no alcohol (and one used to say no weed, idk if im still on that one, id have to go check)" that i would not give a shit about drunk scenarios buT I DO LOVE IT IN FICTION SO MUCH. my irl friends also like getting drunk on/off, or high, and my forced sobriety due to meds (and also family history, let's be honest. i do come from a long line of addicts, apparently, best i dont get involved, and i never have been) means i get to play Designated Driver pretty often. so i do recognize some realities/fantasties in the scenario. but also, god, i love the trope because it allows for such forced vulnerabilities, i fucking love whump fics, and a drunk ex fic is really just a whump fic with no bruises

and, ngl, i do think it is more likely we will get a First Kiss pov somewhere down the line if it loses than i think we will get a Hallway pov if it loses

plus, they were like what, 10?? 11??? idk how old they were when Luci/MC got together. but i know these fuckers are fresh out of high school and Luci is getting drunk, which means biTCHES ARE UNDERAGE DRINKING (which is an interesting characterization for Luci that i think reveals a lot about the Rivera parents as well as Luci's connections to wealth/alcohol), so there is that drama of "hide, hide, hide!!" if nothing else

and, again, then there's not only the angst of "ah, my ex-partner and/or -best friend" and the wanting to make up platonically/romantically but there is also the angst of "i knOW YOU'RE GOING TO GET MURDERED SOON AND IM NOT READY TO GO TO YOUR FUNERAL BUT I DONT KNOW HOW TO STOP THIS" kind of "lost time", "call for rain-check until you can't" angle too. plus, i could see Luci being protective or frustrated or terrified, there are so many fun angles no matter the platonic/romantic additional feelings involved. and, because of how this pov works, there isnt going to be a kiss or anything happening. so it's just going to be slow-burn (to friends or lovers, idk your mc) and pining (platonic pining is a thing), i love that for me specifically lmao

but i do, like, get it. i get what you mean. if i thought this ask was mean-spirited, i wouldve deleted it and not answered; but i read this as "lol yeah that is fucked of me huh lmao you right". bc, YEAH, first kiss is romantic, drunk in your shared hallways is NOT lmao rip but i dont care if its romantic or not, i care that its making my guts get all twisted up. and the angst of (1) drunk ex that needs to taken care of (or needs to run away from you, either or) (2) thinks youre going to be murdered/in an accident and die soon and (3) may/may not still be in love with you and (4) knows they dont have enough time to reconcile with you and make-up for lost time... ngl, that is going to impact me more than a first kiss. im ready for the tragedy. fucking love this kinda shit

Thoughts on DM3. Don’t hate me. 😂

DM3 was not a bad film, I have seen a lot worse and I even went to see it at the cinema a few times. I’d rate it a 6/7 out of ten.

The problem was with it, it felt outdated with an 80s obsessed villian. Don’t get me wrong, I think Bratt is a great idea and I get the concept of it but just maybe with his own film, not in DM.

Aswell, I felt they took a lot of things away from us that were just getting started.

- Agnes sold Fluffy the unicorn though in DM2 she would have screamed the house down if anything happened to him and he was such a big part of the merch. But no, gone, sold to some lil blonde.

- We didn’t see much of Grus freeze-ray nor his tank of a car. - not a big deal but these lil things make the film what it is.

-There was no Fred. - again like the point above. I would have also have liked to have seen Jillian, I thought she was a great and (annoying) addition to DM2.

-Gru didn’t really bother with the girls or interact with any of them, well a part from Agnes. He didn’t even put them to bed like he used to and just left Lucy to do it all. He didn’t really seem supportive of her with her trying to be a mum I thought. If that was my husband I would have kicked his arse lol!

- Margo got engaged to some weird kid and Gru was nowhere to be seen but in DM2 he was this overprotective dad that would have broke his nose or something lol! I know Lucy had it in hand but…..ya know. I wanted to see the overprotective dad mode.

- We didn’t see much of the house which we seen a lot of in DM1/2 and I thought that was such a shame. Why couldn’t Dru just come to Grus house or something lol

- I disliked how the writers wrote out Dr Nefario (we won’t mention the actors name and no one would of cared if someone else was voicing him) but what a lazy way to just freeze him in carbinite. Gru didn’t really seem that upset over it though the Dr had been like a dad to him. Like ?????

- Dru wasn’t bad, it was kinda nice seeing Gru have some male company as if he was down the pub with a mate but I also found it odd they had all of a sudden put on him the temptation to go back to villainy when in DM2 he had that temptation but he wasn’t interested in the slightest. He just wanted to be a father, get a job, get his girl and that was it. Every scene was perfect, the actors, writers etc put all there heart and soul into it and you couldn’t have put anymore into it really, even if you tried. Gru was really at his peak in DM2. Maybe I’ve got it wrong. Idkkkk.

- I didn’t mind the Minions and personally I never do, I think they just add to the film and I don’t find them annoying. I actually liked the prison scene, I thought that was a pretty good idea tbh.

It even felt like at times the animated characters didn’t want to even be doing the storyline in DM3. 😂

3 obviously made a lot of money because everyone was still hyped around DM2 but came out of the cinema or wherever they first watched it empty handed.

Yes it’s ok chucking in a scene here and there with a treehouse or an Agnes and Gru moment to put in some heart but it was almost forced. The writers said themselves they struggled and just wrote for themselves which I found really sad as there is so much you can do with this franchise I think.

I’m ngl, I am a bit nervous about DM4 as I think this will be its last chance to survive but the trailer looks amazing and I’m already won over by the baby Gru Jr. I wanted them to have a baby in DM3!!!!! Really DM4 should have been 3.

Should have rhey aged the girls up. Yes and no. Maybe a bit? Tbh personally, I don’t really care. It keeps there innocence but I would like to see Gru bonding with them again.

It wasn’t all bad though, I liked Lucy trying to be a mom and the animation has definitely stepped up a notch to the point that Gru is pale AF now and they all look a bit different. Aswell the actors, Carell, Kristin did a great job as always.

basically in the ballad of lucy gray baird i feel like the line “i am the one who heard what you said sleeping” often gets misinterpreted. actually that’s a lie i’ve only heard one interpretation of this line and it was on tiktok but it was enough for me to be like yeah. i don’t fuckin think so bud. it went something like this:

“what lucy gray meant was that she heard billy taupe say mayfair’s name in his sleep, confirming her suspicions that he was cheating on her”

my live reaction to that interpretation

because. well. first of all, that verse was kinda hyping billy taupe up ngl. “i am the one who knew how you were brave” “i’ll take that ***and more*** when i go to my grave.” even “i am the one who looks out when you’re leaping” has a positive connotation to it, implying a level of trust and vulnerability in their relationship. and then to suddenly throw in a line that’s like “also you’re a fucking dirty cheater” just wouldn’t make sense. that comes later in the song

also, some of yall say jaw dropping heart wrenching things in ur sleep. like imagine you’re a teenage boy (or just a teenager in general tbh) and you’ve had the most traumatic upbringing, and you’re still constantly being put in dangerous + unstable situations. that’s fuckin nightmare fuel, obviously, but i suppose it can also cause a lot of embarrassment. and i think that’s what lucy gray is referring to. she’s seen him at his lowest point and still loved him anyway, and that’s behavior that no one—not even mayfair!—is ever gonna replicate with him. that’s what she’s taking to her grave: his ability to be someone that’s capable of being vulnerable and loved at the exact same time

or maybe i’m wrong. maybe she actually was talking about him sleep talking about mayfair. either way, i don’t want this post being on full display bc either way u look at it i’m either being 1) a hater 2) so fuckin confident about being so fuckin wrong

I am actually pretty grateful that I got so many commission requests 💖 I got to pay up my con debt (that, by the end of the day, wasn't even that much) and even managed to get my whole Ulquiorra cosplay funded. <3

I just need a seamstress because I don't trust buying clothes online since I have a very specific physique. I'll probably start doing the helmet and the lenses will be the last thing I'll buy. It would be even cooler if I managed to get prescription lenses so I could walk around with gorgeous green lenses sometimes... But glasses Ulquiorra would be great too.

Too bad that almost every Ulquiorra helmet tutorial is a thousand years old, so I will probably have to do it myself.

Although con was awful, Sunday I got to meet an old friend who does cosplay and she accepted to be my Grimmjow, so I'm kinda hyped. Haven't seen her in a very long time. She's really sweet, although she brings me back some bad memories. I told her what happened with the other girls who would hang out in our cosplay group and she was surprisingly welcoming about that. I actually love when people would rather make me laugh when I'm almost crying. She is really nice, for real, and I wish we are able to actually be closer friends now.

About con, it's just not for me. I'd rather sell commissions at home to people that are nice to me than put my face out and having to deal with people ignoring what I do or just being mean to my art. Also, having to sell fanarts... I hate doing fanarts. I have to LOVE a character to make them. I made my Androids piece exclusively to this con and I sold... one. Small. To the friend I've mentioned above.

One cute thing that happened though was this guy, my mother's business partner, who is also a writer and he got interested in my story and he just fell in love with my version of Frank. He went there to see me and he was like "Oh no, I came here to buy a Frank artwork" and I just melted. 🥺 He payed up an A4 size piece and I ordered a Frank and Lucy piece just for him.

I will not be ungrateful and say that it was not fun. It was. The staff was really sweet with me, but the combination of people being rude, music too loud, bad sales, also my friend, who went to help me, getting in somewhat trouble because of me, made the overall experience being mostly bad.

I actually need to buy my friend something as a thank you note. I brought him some Sylveon stickers my table-neighbor was selling but that's not enough. He was there with me both days, cheering me up and helping getting attention of everyone who was stopping by. He got in trouble! I had to talk to his mom since it was half a geek-con (where I was), half an LGBTQ+ con and she's really skeptical about these types of stuff. He is really a gem in my life, ngl.
