replaying fire emblem awakening, and just like. imagine your dad dying. actually, imagine both your parents dying, along with all your aunts, uncles, all of their friends. most of the older generation, most of the population. Imagine growing up in a world where the dead walk the earth, where a god is leveling villages on a whim, burning everything to the ground. imagine being in a position of leadership at that time. imagine being thrust into that position the second your parents die, likely when you were still a child.

then imagine traveling back in time. seeing your father as a young man, before he had you, before he was married, perhaps even before he met your mother. the father who was a legend, who's legacy you've always put so much pressure on yourself to live up to. Imagine being close to him after so many years. and you can't even say anything. can't even so much as give your father a hug. the father you barely even knew because he died when you were a baby. died protecting you. died failing to save the world. you have his eyes, his hair.

my nonbinary ass personally doesnt like addressing the different gendered robins as seperate ppl (my attitude w all the FE my units in general outside of design preferences but since robin doesnt apply to that i genuinely see no discernable difference between frobin and mrobin) but while frobin's supports w chrom are kinda anime cringe (at least chrom also gets walked in on so. gender equality ig) it gets absolutely eclipsed by the absolute insane amount of angst by lucina being ur daughter later on in the story. like holy shit that scene where she tries to kill u to protect chrom but cant force herself to do it

Lucina stared out at the fiery sea before her, watching what was once a mighty fleet of ships burn to measly ashes.

She had heard stories of her parent’s so-called strategic genius, most of which were her father bragging on their behalf, but she never really got the chance to see it for herself.

She couldn’t take her eyes off the blaze, and, as the flames danced on the oil-coated waters, she couldn’t stop thinking about the future.

The future she came from, and the future she sought to prevent.

Could she really succeed? So far, she could not be certain.

Fate had already corrected itself before. The Exalt, her aunt, fell to her demise right before her eyes.

She didn’t prevent history, merely postponed it.

What would happen to her if she did succeed? 

Would she disappear if the future she came from ceased to exist? Was the fact that she hadn’t disappeared yet proof that she was failing to prevent what was to come?

Would she go back to the future she came from, the one she wished the Lucina of this time would never have to see?

Would she be sent to the new future, the future in which her family could be together again?

That would be ideal, but she wasn’t sure how that would work.

Gods, time travel is confusing, she thought.

She saw her parents, alive and well, and felt an aching pain in her chest.

She missed them.

She missed them so much, and now, she could finally spend time with them again.

And yet, she was so scared to.

What if she messed something up? What if she changed history too much? What if her presence inadvertently led to their deaths yet again?

She did not want to lose them again.

She couldn’t even be certain as to how they met their ends, all she knew were the rumors.

The rumors that her father had been betrayed by someone he cared about.

Who? Were they on this vessel right now?

Gods if only she knew, then she could take their life from them before they could take her father from her.

She dismissed that thought almost as soon as it entered her mind.

There was no way to guarantee the rumors were true, and besides, she didn’t think she would have the strength to follow through with it.

Her mind wandered as she stared absent-mindedly at the burning seas.

She remembered training with her father when she was younger. 

She was so happy when he agreed to train with her before they set out for Valm. He didn’t see the point, she had already reached his skill level, but to her, it wasn’t about skill.

She missed him. She missed him so much that it hurt, dug into her chest and burned a permanent hole in her heart.

She wanted to cry, but she couldn’t. She had to be strong. She couldn’t afford to get distracted, couldn’t afford to fail.

Failure meant losing them, again.

She squeezed the handle of Falchion, which was hanging at her hip, firmly. Her hand was always close to it, even when it was sheathed. She knew she always had to be prepared.

Prepared for anything that might try to claw everything away from her, for anything that might try to rip it from her hands like it already had.

She was awakened from her daydreaming when she felt a tug at her arm.

“Lucina?” It was Morgan.

She turned to him quickly, he had caught her off guard, “Ah, yes? What is it?”

“Are you alright?” He asked innocently. ��You look scared.”

She smiled at him, “I’m fine, don’t worry.”

“Do you wanna hold my hand?” He reached his hand out to her.

She was surprised by that response, but she took his hand, hesitantly and wordlessly.

The fire had finally receded now, and they were approaching the shore.

She took a deep breath, in… and out.

Don’t lose focus, Lucina. The future rests on your shoulders.

just dumping this here bc i wanna put it out there

my hc for body type nad changes through awakening of chrom + robin (necessary reminder that my robin is not a human, and is a sort of artificially created shapeshifter who was raised around humans. his body size changes depending on his diet because what he eats stays in him when his shape changes. (his mass cannot change- he can seperate into groupings of smaller objects but cannot be larger than what exists of him.) and the amount of abstract mass (just a pitch dark color slimelike base form) depends on his diet. so the more he eats would displace inner mass, making him appear perhaps taller if he decided to use the extra displaced amount for that. further, food that doesnt give him energy is just converted to physical mass. so more food = bigger in any regard, less food = smaller in any regard. so this is something that fluxuates often- but like a snake, he doesnt need to eat much because he doesnt digest fast enough to do so. so hes less impacted by food scarcity) (can you tell i like writing fictional/monster biology lol) think of robin like hes made of wax, which can be poured into different molds. a lot of wax could fill just 1 large shape, or multiple smaller ones, but if theres not enough, it wont fill it entirely. (a man sized robin couldnt turn into a horse- they dont share the same amount of body.) however, adding something to displace wax to fill up the mold further could, like adding a rock into it, the level would rise. so when he's eaten something, its similar, theres a static non-body displacement inside him, which could be small like an apple, or larger like a few days of dinner.

pt 1.

chrom older teen chrom is basically as lean as he is in canon at this point. despite being royalty, hes roaming about with the other shepards rn, and because they hunt for their food, its not a very secure source and probably mostly lean meat like rabbits, and probably happily gives portions of his meal to his little sister if it wasnt that good of a night for hunting. hes also basically constantly moving and burning energy, he has the metabolism of a 17 year old so all in all hes pretty lightweight. his sword skill is -okay- (hence why future-past lucina matches him in strength and skill, plus canonically he does get better as he levels up, gameplay wise.) he doesnt need to shave often and his body hair isnt coming in too thick yet. generally hes kinda scrappy looking and probably pushes himself a little too far and spreads himself too thin.

robin i hc robin as about just 1 1/2 years or so older than chrom. he's short and thin (not in a healthy way) because his species size is dependent on diet frequency, he avoids eating often too after joining up with the shepards because hes self conscious and wary about breaking his human disguise while hes still trying to hide it here. hes shorter than chrom and has a somewhat inconsistent facial look because he hasnt really learned to return to the exact same form every time*. can eat human foods but sneaks out to eat bodies after perticularly draining battles, as human foods are not as physically or magically energy producing due to his nature as an artificial creature of dark magic. *this inconsistency is also generally true to his body hair, although its hard to notice anyways because he has light skin and light hair. however, he never has facial hair.

---- pt 2; ~5 year timeskip

chrom at first, chrom gains weight and a scruffier look as a result of a settling depression as he mourns his elder sister and grapples with a title he's anxious about receiving. eventually he starts getting back into the swing of taking better care of himself and being more confident in his abilities as a leader, using his sisters death to strengthen his resolve and his closeness to the ever supportive robin to fill in the rough patches. as he gets active he doesnt lose much weight (which i want to note- im describing neutrally. his weight gain isnt morally connected to anything, just like in real life. it just happens) as hes older now, and his metabolism is evening out, and now that hes at home much more, his meals are more stable and with more rounded nutrition and variety. his body hair is thicker and has to be more regularly maintained and by now hes just back to shaving his face regularly (to robins protest, who likes a stubbly face). as lucina is born(formed?) chrom decides he will do what he can to not lose his heart and stability again. during valm, he builds back up a lot of the muscle he hadnt been pushing while he was busy settling into his new position and family. chrom is more easily stressed this time around and isnt so ignorant as he was before and takes the war more seriously after having faced personal loss. the exercise has settled him into the dadbod hes earned.

robin robin has learned much better how to return to the same form each time he leaves it, but doesnt worry as much anymore as chrom is aware of his inhumanity, but still tries to keep it under wraps for the publics sake, considering theyre still uncertain about him as a plegian at all. he's settled on a more mature face than before and often looks just as tired and worn as he actually is, spending many days and nights handling legal matters for his fiance, and then being hard at work with lucina, who is artifically created the same way robin is. due to a consistent diet and lack of losing pieces of himself in battle, robin is now just as tall as chrom, sometimes a bit taller, and has a little bit of a "i work at a table for most of my time" tummy and posture. not much of him changes physically during valm, although hes often seen looking less preened and a smidge more frazzled- but work at home has just been replaced with tactical work, so his already dark eyebags and clenched jaw doesnt really intensify that much worse. battling with his growing migraines while grima attempts to contact him more and more, he relies on chrom to help him find peace and footing, who is more than happy to be his husbands rock. he bites his nails about lucina back home and the war at his feet often. after the reveal of the future past lucina, his stress continues to worsen as his daughter is now also on the battlefield, but he works harder to look more presentable, doing what he can to help be a good role model to lucina as well as work oh her distrsut to him, which as this point is mostly puzzling. robin also falls back to being shorter (although not as short as before) than chrom, although this fluctuates.

--- pt 3 / grima

chrom chrom hasnt changed much from before, not given much time to settle, hes thrown right back into the frying pan with the return ot plegia as a threat. he works hard despite having unrecovered wounds at this point. generally, this chapter is very much revolved around robin. after the weaker fake out bolt, chrom still suffers a circular burn on his torso which eventually scars over.

robin the relentless now battering of grima in his skull takes a toll on robin, whos mental health effects physical health as he distrusts himself after being possessed. unable to bring himself to eat human remains as he needs to for its magic properties in the context of his species due to it reminding him of his closeness to grima, he faces physical weakness and a growing urge to hunt, which only makes him further parinoid about his fell blood. espessially frazzled, robin spends almost all his time either planning for the next meeting with the enemy or allies, or out on a walk to "clear his mind", which is moreso because hes afraid of lashing out at others.

--- postgame

chrom after robins sacrifice, he searches without end for him, hanging onto nagas words that he can come back. he neglects returning home and to the throne to do so, and fails to take care of himself worst of all, often going hungry, pushing himself physically, and getting frustrated with others and himself. lucina eventually shakes it back into him that he must carry on for everyone no matter what and he reluctantly spends less time searching, and more on himself and others, but still feels lost and incomplete. finally being able to start his duties as exalt for good once he finds him, chrom settles into a less active life, serving as the public face for his kingdoms new era while robin works out the paperwork side of things. he shaves inconsistently, essentally leaving his beard growing out only for however long robin can convince him. (robin says its a mature and kingly look, but chrom thinks its scratchy and strange to see in the mirror.)

robin im retconning the mark of grima disappearing because i think they look cool. robin returns to his desk work posture and living in a castle closeness to food, but struggles with his creature of darkness hunger. his nature returns to being level headed and intuitive, able to find peace and stability after returning to the world of the living, eventually leading to the creation of the twin morgans. he enjoys the imports from his home country now that theyre no longer waring and are now working on repairing the bond between each country. although he has clothes from the castle tailors, he prefers to wear plegian clothing, seeing himself as the most important ambassador to the country of his birth while the distrust between each country repairs. although it changes often, he averages out as about the same height as chrom.

------ other notes:

im a "each eye has a brand" lucina chrobin truther. so theres that. Lucinas hair lightens slightly over time, when he would eventually be in her late 30s to early 40s, it would reach an only slightly blue sort of silver color, where it would stop changing. it changes as it grows, so in her 20s, she has a sort of ombre going on.

the morgans have mirrors of eachothers brand mark, with the brand of the exalt on morganf's left hand, and morganm's right, with the brand of the exalt on the opposite for each. (who each have chrobs blue hair.) the morgans are entirely identical physically, only robin and henry can tell them apart, as robin can naturally see their magically aura, and henry navigates via using a sort of magical sonar, and can hear them as separate noises their souls make, and plays stupid about how others get confused. robin enjoys using the twins to troll others, which is why he dresses them the same and cuts them the same haircut. chrom doesnt really think its funny but the kids enjoy it too so he doesnt care.

owain is trans in my hcs, and isnt out to anyone except robin, who asked because plegian culture percieves gender differently than ylissians do, so the both of them act confused on why lissa's baby is a girl. despite this, owain spends lots of quality time with his family, after witnessing his parents die in his timeline, he wont let the discomfort of hearing his deadname deter him from spending time with them, and enjoys playing with his "little sister" who can sometimes be a bit too rough and tumble for the other kids because of her claws. (lissa is a human, but ricken is nonhuman, sort of like a sphinx thing, which owain is in turn. although both of them usually just use a human form because thats the norm)

cerise (vaike daughter) - shes the best ever and she will prove this to you through a series of increasingly dangerous and ridiculous challenges that you never even dared her to do in the first place. she loves her dad and loves competing with him for fun. emotionally incompetent, do NOT ask her for advice on ur feelings. dieter (stahl son) - loves causing problems, favorite pastime. he cares but will try to trick people into doing his chores and such. get pranked idiot. doesnt like making a thing out of doing stuff for people, he has an image to keep up thank you very much, so hell just silently help them out ie. replacing herbs when they run out, refilling all the salt shakers [cavalier, best at gift giving]

name change. (donnels daughter) - was actually trained to fight from a young age, she loves learning to do new things. will pull the most random but extremely helpful skill out of nowhere. inspired greatly by the tales of cherche from donnels hometown. carries converstions easily, and got donnels impeccable memory. uses a fair amount of it to remember facts about her wyvern, spoils him too much [wyvern rider]

felicity (gaius daughter) - biggest daddys girl ever, seeks him out a lot to talk or just hang around all the time. very clingly as she doesnt wanna lose him again. high energy and bubbly, can talk at people for hours. good baker & candy maker. tries to busy herself with making things, well rounded artist. a nicknamer, calls gerome ger-bear hehe. plays along with owains stuff all the time [thief, has the most artistic talent] (this all spawned from me going "if gaius has a kid theyd be such a daddys girl and candy apple would be a cute nickname for her from him haha" one day)

M!Corrin-wise -  I dont think Omega Yato will be his weapon, because the refined version of his OG version (normal M!Corrin in the red pool) already has it. While his art has his normal weapon, his sprite has Omega Yato.

Dawn Yato is definitely a possibility tho! although it would be very odd to give it to him and not make its Twin/Mirror Weapon Dusk Yato to CQ!themed!L!F!Corrin.(but hey its IS)

(something i am so salty off bc i love Dawn and Dusk Yatos ;-; they are so pretty and match so well their promotions... and games... heck!! they both have their route-represent Legendary weapons features incorpored on them and just *clenches fist at the emotional moments*)

Also, A re-colored dragon alt is also a possibility, since L!F!Corn did that.

I dont think skipping the Staff is a certainty because IS has made weird choices before. Leif has an Bow which is a weird choice for him, but, like Corrin, he has a A Rank in bows in his promoted class, and like Corrin he is an “unpopular” Lord. Chrom and Lucina have Bows, when they also had Lances as options by promotion class.

I dont think popularity certainly incentivizes diversity in weapon usage. because we have had a lot of Weird choices from IS of making a popular character have the same weapon across multiple alts. -> 3H lords, Ike, Eirika and Ephraim had all a repeat of their OG weapons and are far more or just as popular as Micaiah; and even weirder L!F!Corrin, who by CYL and Nintendo magazine poll is more popular then M!Corrin,  has the same weapon type than her fallen version (and still lacks a red alt for her emblem AND had an iconic red weapon associated with her promotion of DarkBlood/Nohr Noble (Dusk Yato)). Also fun fact, F!Corrin counterpart to M!Corrin Staff Rank is a Tome Rank. So it would also be possible for her to have had an red tome alt.

conclusion regarding weapons: IS pretty much spins a Wheel and decides what to do. I think its pretty much a case of...whatever the executives woke up on that day wanting.

(that, of course, doesnt make theorizing what weapon they will have  any less fun xD)

Honestly the only reason why I am certain it is Micaiah is irrational/a F2P technique. In  that if it is not her, it will destroy my will to summon and thus allow me to spend less XD. I have seen people doing it and boy does it works wonders when you arent right.

Going by that (my theory it is Micaiah) I find it unlikely to be Colorless (and thus Staff or colorless tome) only because the other spreads are just That Good^tm.

One of the methods that people used to guess which color the new Leg/Mythic will be is to see which color has a busted spread of colors. And it has been right ever since Edelgard

(The reason for so is that IS seems to have realized that by debutting the hero on a so-so spread, it made people wait for their rerun in order to get them, Bramimond being an example in that his spread was awful (L!Grima) and his rerun spread was godsmacking good (Mila)... pun not intended)

The colorless this time is rather...i wouldnt say weak, because Eir usability is REALLy good and Duma has a nice niche of wrecking people plans(cackles in my AR matches). However, they are fairly outdated in comparation with the other color spreads. So, in the event this leg hero is Micaiah (or Elincia, or Byleth) i dont think they would be colorless because of that.

Oh! Regarding the CYL theory, since the legendaries were introduced in the second year of FEH, I dont consider much broken, since i merely think its always /A/ winner instead of the 1st of each year. Since shuffling of legendaries is possible, (those times when IS changed the calendar lineup), should the Byleths win CYL(which is fairly likely). it would be easy to put them on the next GW. And I also think it will be a theory that will be broken absolutely next year, since I doubt Marianne and Gatekeeper would be viable L!Heroes. I agree with you that is a weak pattern that is likely to be broken.

Counterpoint to Wind F!Byleth ->  Blessings not always end up being the element that is most associated with the Character in the main game. Highly Water themed (and midly Fire themed;) Corrin ended up as Wind; Julia, who has Minor blood of fire and was called “Genealogy’s Fire Emblem sword” was Earth; Eliwood, wielding the fire themed Durandal, was Wind. (tbf this is also a counterpoint to Wind Micaiah, since she has more association with Light and maybe Fire(?) than Wind)

Regarding 3H launching with 3H, besides Edelgard, Claude also debuted with no 3H legendary accompanying him. Annete was there, but other than that, no other 3H unit or legendary was on the banner. In fact, the pattern i do see with 3H legendaries is that their first re-run matches with a release of a Mythic in their color spread. (Edelgard -> Hel ; Dimitri -> Seiros).

I want to highlight that i am not saying it wont happen, but that I lean more towards they keeping a space between 3H legendaries release, in order to long term profits, and to not cause burn-out of 3H content. (or at least decrease people complaining about it; They seem to have learned their lesson with the Fates and Tellius spams.)

Finally,I do think that it is possible for Micaiah to be a Staff and for other characters to be released in this month/banner, mostly it is the premises i chose to apply to this theorizing lead me in a contrary direction xD. You show some good points! (I would love a Dawn Yato Corn and a Staff Micaiah ;-;...)

Extra Tangent: I have absolutely no idea what IS(executives) considers the character is associated with Silver Snow like...

For one side, Seteth makes lip service saying the route lord is Rhea; Rhea presents the choice mirror to Edelgard’s in the route split; the ending cutscene focuses on Rhea character development/closure, but, at the same time, she is Sir Not Appearing for 75% of the route and the rest of the time she is benched.

For another side, Byleth was made to be the lord to Edelgard emperor’s and her rival; has several cutscenes showcasing that; is the “lord” of the route in role sense, but, on the other hand, its more associated with Fire (fire emblem).

Honestly at this point i just dont know what FEH is going to do with them. I think IS is going to make one of Byleth Wind as you said and the other Fire, but which one, i have no idea. I could see too an argument for Ground(since i think at the lack of an Light element for Light element character-focused they pick ground sometimes) too, but yeah. 

I cant believe the true plot twist of GW is gonna be Rhea being the wind legendary breaking all of our theories xD (/j, but can you imagine how funny it would be?)

On the topic of Falchion versus Fates dragons: Though Corrin, Lilith, and Kana are all weak to wyrmslayers, if I remember right from testing it, Anankos is oddly not weak to them. Now it might be possible that Dragonskin in Fates prevents wyrmslayer effects, but still. So I'm just imagining Chrom's dad hitting Anankos with Falchion, and being confused when the dragon doesnt react besides staring him down angrily. (That or it did hurt but he's too focused on the fact his child got threatened.)

You know what @anankos actually went and tested this in the Revelations path with Lucina from an amiibo and guess what

Anankos gives no fucks about Falchion 

So while it is possible that Fates’ Dragonskin nullifies wyrmslayer effects, it’s equally possible that Anankos could get a special effect in Heroes that nullifies the “effective against dragons” bonus that’s cropping up on more and more units.  

So it’s entirely possible that if the two of them were to meet, Chrom’s father would in fact try to slay the evil Silent Dragon when he sees an opportunity (and if Anankos stands in Corrin’s defense, that would be a prime one).  And it would basically bounce off him with barely a scratch – though it would almost certainly make him mad if he weren’t already pissed. 

That man probably isn’t making it out of the encounter unscathed. c:

Tired of seeing these and theyre not even remotely accurate. Plus, im bored.

Mario - Either a child who doesnt play games, or you were pretty decent at smash 4.

DK - Will constantly tell "jokes" where the punchline is just the word "dong." Only he will laugh.

Link - A huge zelda nerd. Thats it.

Samus - Plays her in every game. Definitely a casual.

Dark Samus - Tired of playing Samus in every game. Is trying to "switch it up," even though its the exact same character.

Yoshi - Does not play smash, just thinks yoshi is cute.

Kirby - Either the same as yoshi, or genuinely THE WORST player youve ever seen. Has no idea how to play, but thinks theyre good.

Fox - Crazy tryhard, loves melee, is actually decent.

Pikachu - plays pikachu in every game. Will say "Pikachu is actually the best character in ultimate," cuz he read that online at launch. Doesnt know that its not actually true anymore.

Luigi - the most pleasant person in the room. Just wants to have fun.

Ness - Huge earthbound fan. The only other character theyve ever played is lucas, briefly.

Captain falcon - the most basic-bitch competitive smash fan there is. Not good at the game, but will scream when he gets the one knee he can actually land.

Jigglypuff - will spam rest. Is surprising good at landing it.

Peach - Either a casual fan of peach, or is about to beat you down.

Daisy - Just a big fan of daisy.

Bowser - either a 5 year old boy, or a secret pro.

Ice climbers - wishes they were playing melee or brawl.

Sheik - plays sheik in every game

Zelda - either a cool girl or a cringy waifu warrior

Doctor Mario - Will kill you at 40% like its nothing. A skilled specialist.

Pichu - Carries the assumption from melee that pichu is bad, and is just doing it for a joke. Has no idea pichu is the best character.

Falco - crazy tryhard, loves melee, sucks.

Marth - plays marth in every game.

Lucina - played marth until smash 4, cringy waifu warrior.

Young link - Will parade around his opinion that Majora is the best zelda, like its an unpopular opinion or something.

Ike - huge path of radiance/radiant dawn fan. Mained him since brawl.

Pkmn trainer - can play like half the roster well, or only plays charizard.

Diddy - misses smash 4

Lucas - will always complain about mother 3's localization, or was good at smash 4.

Sonic - still says "youre too slow" when they taunt, even though it was removed after brawl

Dedede - just wants to make people mad. Will crouch any chance they get.

Olimar - a genius irl, and good at the game. Doesnt make any effort to be social.

Lucario - a big DBZ fan

ROB - watches every local they can find, lives on r/smashbros

Toon link - pretty cool irl, but likes to spam projectiles rather than play the game.

Wolf - crazy trihard, loves melee, is actually REALLY good.

Villager - same as toon link

Mega man - only likes really technical characters.

Wii fit - just a normal ass dude. Maybe cringy if they keep talking about female WFT's body.

Rosalina - nobody liked them in smash 4, and this trash character is their karma.

Little mac - between the ages of 9 and 15. Thinks theyre good.

Greninja - a weeb, their favorite pokemon games are gen 6 and 7.

Palutena - cringy waifu warrior, actually keeps up with the meta.

Pacman - a normal ass dude

Robin - cringy waifu warrior. Will reset if he accidentally picks male robin.

While I am not into Robcina at all (I am rather neutral towards it) I kind of understand why some people though Instys was pushing it. Their support convos is solid, their S support doesnt feel rushed and is kinda cute, their interactions shows that they work as a couple. But that asides I never thought once it was canon since the only relevance it has is to obtain a monstruous Morgan and unlock all the S support of the games. Oh, and if you like Lucina enough to marry her. I forgot about that.

I agree it works fine if you only go by the support convos but there's a plot on top of it. Which is, as much as I've seen "FE is lately making Robin too dependent on Chrom" complaining, that's the plot. The plot of Awakening is how Robin's bond with Chrom changes fate and saves not just his life but the world. It's a cheesy ass anime plot. Lucina could have killed him and was ready to but Chrom steps in and stops her because he trusts Robin that much. So I don't really understand the complaints they're focusing too much on Robin and Chrom lately, did we observe the same game???

Anyway Robin and Lucina was never pushed, because once Awakening was done and FE blew up it was never mentioned again and no "Lucina I hope I didn't hurt you" from Smash doesn't count. That's Robin's character, he's a good boy and Lucina and him are from the same game. Female Robin "How can you protect Chrom if you can't protect yourself" is much harsher but if anything it was a small reference to the male and female avatars having slightly different personalities, (to this day they're the most varied) If they were gonna touch on it they could have in the drama CD but they didn't because in the context of canon Awakening with Robin as his own character it makes no sense. It's just fanservice. Most of the ships are as tend to be in a marry anyone format but that one really butts heads with the canon. Which is why I think they never referenced it again. If Awakening gets remade of course they'll keep it, they have no reason not to but in everything else? Not a thing.

It's also hilarious that we went from "I'll kill you to prevent my fathers murder." To "I feel self conscious fighting my father's other half!" Girl you were ready to kill him in your own game don't give me that.

·       This impulsive dork is quite popular with the community, as seen with him placing 4th for males and 9th overall in last year’s Choose Your Legends. He differs from the typical lord by being a more down to earth villager who hadn’t seen much of the world rather than a sheltered lord who hadn’t seen much of the world. His willingness to be emotional and kindness make him endearing and more than just an eager to fight farm boy.

Marth

·       He was screwed over last year and IS knows it

·       Marth emblem would be a thing without having to include Masked Marth

·       Potential nod to Elice in his outfit? Or better yet, pantless Marth?

·       He’s a good boy who’s often overlooked for being “too boring”, a feeling not helped by the fact only one of his four games was released outside of Japan. Yes, he’s an idelistic prince who dislikes war, but his games give reasoning for his morals by showing the events that lead to their development and the tolls of his idealism are also portrayed, making him more of a complex character. He knows the downsides of his approach to the world but sticks with it, something that takes a lot of strength.

Eliwood

·       Finally a good alt!

·       Complete the Blazing trio! Also, let IS know we love Eliwood just as much as Lyn, Hector, and Roy.

·       His ceremonial garb from the end of Blazing Blade would look so nice.

·       Eliwood suffers from not being Hector and Lyn and was thus overlooked for years. But that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to his character. Sir of Coffee wrote up a better explanation of him that I ever could over on GamePress so I’ll just link it here so you can go and read about all the wonderful traits of Eliwood

Chrom

·       To me, he will always be the husband so I always appreciate seeing more of this destructive awkward dork

·       Since there’s already the Exalt alt, what would his Brave alt be? A homage to Emmeryn? A lance alt to match Brave Lucina?

·       He has so many good lines in the game, especially Exalt Chrom. Just imagine what stupid and sweet things he would say in a Forging Bonds event

·       Even taking into account my first game bias, I still think Chrom is one of my favorite lords in the series. He’s often seem by people as a bit of a joke because yes, he’s not the smartest guy around. He’s stupidly trusting and impulsive but he also has incredible charisma and kindness. There’s a reason he’s such a popular marriage choice, besides it making sense from a story perspective and adding to the weight and emotion of later parts of the story.
