look, rodric’s whole thing is that he’s the heavy in this orphan party, arthur literally sets people on fire, lucas didn’t touch a single soul throughout the entire game as far as i remember but there was that bit with the pig, and the de runes siblings are pretty much elbow-deep in the business of wrecking death and unimaginable pain by the end of the game

what i’m saying is mélie is ironically the only one who’s all rage and no killing, and she’s gonna grow up more like garret from thief than legolas, is what i’m saying

You got your gold hearted and good spirited Amicia, nerdy boy Lucas, older friendly big guy Rodric and your bad rebel kids Arthur and Melie.

I think I just really want to see good girl Amicia and bad girl Melie in action.

APTI: All the Kids Live AU!

As it says in the title, this is an au where all the children survive, meaning Arthur and Rodric are still alive! I also have various other headcanons I will talk about here just because I can. Note that many of these thoughts are scattered and probably not well explained but I wanted to share.

So, let’s start off with after they escaped the castle. After escaping the castle, they set up a holdout in a nearby abandoned home. Arthur, after being hit, is gravely wounded and the group doesn’t believe he’s going to make it, which keeps Melie’s strong quest for vengeance still within the plot. During the period where the group is going to kill the Grand Inquisitor, Lucas stays behind to tend to Arthur. Amicia reassures Melie that under Lucas’ care, Arthur will make it and that he is strong.

Then there is Rodric, who, as you all know by now, was shot by an arrow and died by the gate. In this AU, he survives the shot but stays by his position, claiming that he he’ll only slow the group down and he’ll be fine without them. Reluctantly, they continue onwards. Later, they reunite with Rodric outside the town unconscious by a tree. He had left the town but couldn’t push himself any further, so the group helps carry him back to their holdout where Arthur and Lucas reside. This now gives Lucas 3 injured people to take care of, jeez. The others try to help Lucas the best they can.

Melie does eventually leave but with Arthur this time once he is well. Claiming they needed to get away for a while and be on their own again. Rodric does stay with the group, although, always having a bit of a knot in his shoulder since he was shot.

As for my other various headcanons, Melie and Arthur do end up returning far later when they’re adults. Early twenties probably, living their lives as thieves and doing any old job passing through. After Melie’s return, Amicia and Melie get together and later in their adult life, married. Once together, Melie gives up her long life or stealing from both the dead and the living to settle down with Amicia, something she honestly didn’t think she’d live long enough to even consider, but to give up stealing was per request of her beloveded. Amicia now runs a tavern in a small town with Melie, Rodric is a local blacksmith that has taken after his father, Lucas has become a full fledged alchemist, Hugo as taken after his mother and has become Lucas’ alchemist apprentice, and finally, Arthur has become a hunter, selling his catches and pelts on the market.

misses the not-all-that-well-concealed entrance to the château because he’s too busy being a nerd

then later brags to Melie about how he totally pushed that cart all by himself it was the size of a calf no really

grew up in a cellar but is a total ride or die for Amicia and Hugo, sure let’s go murder the Grand Inquisitor!

the only sensible and responsible person in the group apart from Amicia, and even she’s willing to go off on suicide missions every now and then

you can’t convince me most of his non-studying time at the castle wasn’t spent trying to keep the twins and Roderic from teaching Hugo to say “fuck”
