It was pretty obvious that Sam was "Roxy" in Snoops On (this was a fun episode btw) but I still was fangirling like crazy when she revealed that it was her because I love that Sam was in on it to help Luna mess with Lincoln, Leni and Luan for reading her diary. I also really love Luna's "my girlfriend is awesome, am I right?" look on her face here. At least that's how I see it. lol

It'd be cute to see this episode from their perspective because I can never get enough Luna and Sam interaction.

Let’s Talk #TheLoudHouse: Season 4 Final Thoughts

Considering it was the last one with the original status quo, The Loud House had a really good fourth season.

For my final thoughts on Season 4 of The Loud House, feel free to keep reading. There will be spoilers.

The season began by focusing on the Casagrandes in a multi-part arc in preparation for their then-upcoming spin-off.

It also debuted a minor change in the intro: Disgraced series creator Chris Savino’s credit was altered from orange to grey. This was the show’s first full season without his involvement.

As for the rest of the season, it was really good. Compared to the first three seasons, it had a decent balance of episodes highlighting nearly every single family member along with some new pairings. Some focused on the siblings working together, others on their respective group of friends, and one even focused solely on Lily.

Continuity was a bit more prevalent this time around. Certain story lines from last season were expanded upon, such as Lori’s senior year, the siblings’ respective friendships, and Luna and Luan’s romantic relationships. Some of them appear to set up possible threads for next season.

While still consisting of 26 half-hour episodes, there were two more quarter-hour segments than last season. This season surprisingly did not end with a half-hour special. There were only two of them, one within The Casagrandes arc and "Kings of the Con”, the latter serving as the lead-in to said spin-off.

This season also featured several shorts. Some were uploaded to YouTube (being labeled as “deleted scenes”) and a few aired on TV alongside premieres of both The Loud House and The Casagrandes. They followed up from past episodes, had unique art shifts, and featured stories reminiscent of the graphic novels. One of them, “Clyde’s Two Dads”, was a direct adaptation of the story “Clyde Cat-astrophe” from the second book There Will Be More Chaos.

When it comes to the season’s Loud episodes, there were more good than bad episodes.

The Best

Any Given Sundae: A unique episode from Lily’s point of view with random art shifts. It also showed she is smarter than the rest of her family.

Purrfect Gig: While the premise is reminiscent of “Two Boys and a Baby”, it featured more of Luna’s relationship with Sam. It also had the “controversial” debut of Sam’s brother Simon, previously only mentioned in the graphic novels.

Sister Act: It features the classic trope of twins swapping places but with actual consequences.

A Dark and Story Night: In possibly the only way it could show a fantastical tale within the series, each siblings contributes to a story to pass the time during a blackout.

Feast or Family: It features Luan and her father Lynn Sr clashing about cooking.

The Worst

A Mutt Above: This almost felt like a retread of “Toads and Tiaras”, only with Lana as Lincoln and Charles as Lana. The difference between it and the aforementioned “Purrfect Gig” was how at least that episode changed things up a bit more.

Exchange of Heart: This was forgettable fan fiction, with Tiago serving as the self-insert character.

Singled Out: Another episode that seemed reminiscent of bad fan fiction, this time about Lynn not having a boyfriend. The only thing worth noting about the episode is how it appeared to reaffirm to fans that the other potential relationships from “L is for Love” went nowhere.

House Flip: While Flip is a funny character, he did not need to be the main focus of an entire episode where the siblings have to keep hiding him from their parents.

Tough Cookies: Like “A Mutt Above”, it was similar to a previous episode (”Lincoln Loud: Girl Guru”) and just petered out by the end. At least “Kings of the Con” did more with Lincoln and Clyde.

A unique TV special aired late in the season, serving as its lone major crossover between the two shows. The Hangin’ at Home special, produced during the COVID-19 pandemic, was based on Lincoln and Ronnie Anne’s video chats featured on the shows’ shared YouTube channel. 

It consisted of a clip show with new dialogue of the two explaining their respective family members’ involvement during the pandemic, such as Leni making masks and Bobby being an essential worker. It was an OK special that did its best to explain the pandemic to a younger audience. The format’s limited animation was only prevalent when the characters’ facial movements did not match the voice actors’ performances. 

The show’s future is mostly unknown. The Loud House is coming back for a fifth season, but it will change the status quo by taking place one year later.

“L is For Luna” (Part 7): A Saluna Fanfic

A/N: Hey, guys! I know that you probably didn’t like the cliffhanger and lost twist in the last part, but I that was all a part of the climax! Also, I know this chapter is oddly longer than the other ones, but consider it a make up for the last part, which was extremely short. But, I hope that you find the finale of “L is For Luna” to be well worth the long read! :)

“Luna!” Blake beamed, his face lighting up. “So nice to see ya, dudette!”

“H-hey, Blake…,” Luna responded. “What are you doing here?”

Blake charmingly smiled. His cheeks turned a dark shade of red. “Why, I’m here on a date with the prettiest gal in the world!”

Luna’s heart sunk to the bottom of her stomach. “I knew I should have listened to myself when I said that my admirer wasn’t Sam, but someone who’s good at hiding their feelings for me.”

Luna took Blake by the hand and looked at him with empathetic eyes. “Look, Blake, this was really nice of you to do. I really appreciate that you went out of your way to take me on this nice date.”

Blake just furrowed his eyebrows. “Luna-”

Luna did not catch on and just continued, “I really appreciate all of those nice things that you said about me, but I just don’t feel the same way, man. But I don’t want to go on this date with you.”

“Luna, I-”

“So I’m gonna tell you from the start, I’m only gonna break break ya break break ya heart. ‘Cause I don’t feel the same way.”

“Luna, you-”

“Sorry, dude, but I only like ya as a bro.” Luna smiled sheepishly at Blake. “Hope there’s no hard feelings and that we can still be friends.”

Luna then realized that Blake showed no sign of heartbreak, sadness, or disappointment in his face. “Luna, there are definitely no hard feelings,” he chuckled. “I only like ya as a friend as well.”

Luna let go of Blake’s hand and just looked back at him in confusion. “What do you mean?”

“I’ve never crushed on ya, dudette.”

“So you weren’t the one who sent me all of those letters?”

As Blake opened his mouth to say something, a female voice cut him off, “Lunes! So glad that you made it, mate!”

Luna excitingly turned around to be greeted by who she thought would be Sam. Luna’s excitement quickly turned into disappointment. It was not Sam, but her red-headed friend.

“Hey, Jasmine,” Luna greeted with a bit of confusion.

“Oh, Lunes, you look so stunning in that dress!” Jasmine beamed.

“Thanks, mate. So, why are you here?”

Jasmine giggled as she blushed. “I’m here on a date with a very attractive someone.”

Luna just sighed and took Jasmine by the hand. She looked into her eyes empathetically. “Look, Jasmine, I really appreciate all that you went through to do this. You’re an amazing gal, but this just isn’t going to work.”

Jasmine just chuckled. “Lunes-”

Once again, Luna was oblivious. “But I just don’t see ya in that way, dudette. I only see you as a friend.”

“Luna-”

“But all of those things that you said about me in those letters were really nice and all, but-”

“Luna!” Blake shouted.

“Luna, would you listen to me for once?” Jasmine hollered.

Luna’s cheeks became slightly red from embarrassment, realizing that she had been rude for not listening to her friends when they were clearly trying to tell her something important. She rubbed her arm, feeling ashamed. “Sorry, dudes. Go on.”

“Luna, I think that there’s been a bit of a mix up,” Jasmine began. “I only like you as a friend too.”

Luna gave Jasmine a confused look. “So neither of you are crushin’ on me?”

Blake and Jasmine shook their heads in agreement.

Luna titled her head a bit. “And neither of you sent me any love letters?”

Blake and Jasmine shook their heads again.

“And neither of you invited me here on a date?”

Blake and Jasmine shook their heads once more.

“So if it was neither of you, then who was it that invited me then?”

Before Blake or Jasmine could say anything, a familiar voice rang through the restaurant, “Oh my goodness! I’m so terribly sorry that I’m late!” 

Luna turned around. Her heart suddenly returned to its usual spot and began to beat ten times as fast. Her cheeks turned ten times redder. Luna stood there, unable to move and unable to speak. She looked so stunningly beautiful to her that her brain could not function properly. She wore a gorgeous teal dress with black flats. Her nails had been painted the same color as her dress and her hair has been straightened. She wore the prettiest diamond earrings. She even had blue eyeshadow and pink lipstick on. 

“Gosh, I feel so terrible,” she admitted as she sat down in the chair next to Blake, not breaking eye contact with Luna.

Jasmine then proceeded to sit down in the chair that was across from Blake. Luna was still unable to move so Jasmine had to help her into the chair that was next to her. 

“You know, it’s really funny because in the last letter that I sent you, I told you to not be late, but here I am, ten minutes late!” The gorgeous girl in front of Luna giggled, blushing and twirling her hair. “The traffic was just really hectic on my side of town.”

Luna sat there, absolutely stunned. She could not believe that this was happening. She cleared her throat and finally said, “S-Sam… Wh-what a-are y-you d-doing h-here?”

Sam giggled as she stretched her arms across the table to take Luna by her hands. “Why, I’m here on a date with the chick who’s not only the prettiest one in the school, but the most beautiful one in the whole entire world.”

“And so am I,” Blake agreed, beaming as he took Jasmine by her hands.

Luna’s eyes widened as she turned towards Jasmine and Blake. “Wait, are you guys dating?”

Blake and Jasmine both nodded their heads.

“That’s what we’ve been trying to tell you this whole entire time, dude,” Blake told Luna.

Luna smiled. “Aw, that’s so rad! How long have you guys been together for?”

Jasmine grinned. “For a week.”

“Best week of my life, luv,” Blake said charmingly.

Jasmine just giggled and blushed.

“Aw, congrats, dudes!” Luna exclaimed.

“Thanks, Lunes!” Jasmine and Blake replied.

“Wait a minute,” Luna suddenly stated, turning back towards Sam. “Sam?”

Sam giggled and blushed. “Yes, Luna, that beautiful chick that I was talking about is you. I can’t believe that you were so oblivious to the fact that I’m so gay and that I have a major crush on you. But I’m a nervous gay, so when I found out that Blake and Jasmine are a couple, I invited them on a double date. Ya know, for moral support.”

Luna chuckled as she pulled one hand away from Sam to rub the back of her neck. “Well, I wasn’t completely oblivious. You have always been incredibly nice to me, and even nicer this week. Half of me told me that ya dig me the same way that I dig ya and the other half was telling me that you were just being really kind. I wouldn’t call it oblivious— I’d call it doubtful. But don’t worry, I too am a nervous gay.  Well, actually, it might sound crazy but ain’t no lie: I’m bi, bi, bi.”

“That’s my sister!” Luan exclaimed as she popped her head out from behind the staircase, blowing her cover. “I taught her everything that she knows about making LGBTQ puns!” 

Sam, Jasmine, and Blake all began to crack up.

Luna just rolled her eyes and facepalmed herself with her free hand. “Luan!” She then meekly looked back at Sam. “But yeah, I brought moral support to.”

With hearing that, the rest of Luna’s siblings popped their heads out from behind the staircase. 

“I brought all of my sibs with me.”

Sam just chuckled.

“So, how long have Jasmine and Blake known about your crush on me?” 

“Well, we kind of had a double confession. After they told me that they were dating, I told them about my crush on you and how I’ve been sending you letters.” Sam suddenly moved her gaze towards Blake. “And you know what this one says to me?”

“What?”

Sam looked back at Luna. “You do you, dude. Girls like girls like boys do. Sometimes even better”

Luna’s jaw dropped.

“Hey, it’s not my fault that I’m bad at love,” Blake butted in, overhearing Luna and Sam’s conversation.

“I disagree,” Jasmine stated, leaning over the table to give Blake a kiss on the cheek. “I think that this boy that I got back home in Michigan is excellent at love.”

“Aw, thanks, babe,” Blake replied, blushing.

Luna then reconnected her free hand with Sam’s. “But wow. Can’t believe that Sam Sharp is my ‘secret admirer’.”

Sam grinned. “And I can’t believe that Luna Loud is mine.”

Luna’s jaw dropped. “You knew?”

Sam nodded.

Luna blushed again. “For how long?”

“Ever since the end of last week.”

“How?”

Sam giggled. “Well, last Friday, you slipped up and made a song reference that was made in one of the love letters that I received.”

Luna looked down out of embarrassment. “Oh…”

Sam took one of her hands out of Luna’s grasp and used it to lift Luna’s head up by her chin. “But, Luna, look at how far that slip-up got you. You’re on a date with a crush.”

Luna giggled. “Yeah, I am, aren’t I?”

“But I do have to admit, I was sort of doubtful like you were. I kept on thinking, ‘what if it’s all in my head? What if I’m wrong? What if it’s someone else and that was just a weird coincidence?’ So I started to flirt with ya to see if it was right. When you started to flirt back, I gained more and more hope that I was right and eventually, with the help of these two, got the courage to finally bring ya here on a rockin’ date.”

Luna smiled. “You have no idea how happy you’re making me, dude. I’ve had the biggest crush on you ever since 8th grade.”

Sam blushed. “Wow, I’ve been crushin’ on ya ever since 8th grade too, Lunes.”

Luna’s eyes widened out of shock. “Really?”

Sam nodded as her one hand returned back to Luna’s. She began to rub them affectionately. “It was like love at first sight!”

Luna laughed softly and blushed. “What took us so long to finally confess our feelings?”

Sam shook her head. “Those darn nerves… And society… But who cares what other people think? I like you and you like me. All that matters is that you’re nice to me and that I’m nice to you and that we love each other. And that’s how it’s always been and how it will always be. But society has been becoming more accepting over the past few decades, past few years even. We both have rockin’ support systems.”

“Yeah, I don’t know what we would do without them.”

Sam grinned as she leaned over the table. Her face was now inches from Luna’s. She pulled one hand away from Luna and used it to nervously twirl her long, blonde hair as she giggled. “I know we ain’t got much to say.”

Luna grinned. “Before I let you get away, yeah!”

Sam leaned even further over the table, lips only an inch away from Luna’s, and whispered, “I said, are you gonna be my girl?”

Luna then removed her hands from Sam’s and reattached them to the sides of Sam’s head. She pulled her into a passionate and sweet kiss. Sam smiled as she kissed Luna back and began to run her fingers through Luna’s short, brown hair. 

“Of course I’ll be your girl, my luv,” Luna finally answered, blushing, once she and Sam pulled away from one another.

Luna’s siblings and friends cheered as Sam pulled her in for another kiss.

A/N: Wow, I can’t believe that I finally finished writing “L is For Luna”! I certainly hope that you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it! Also, I think a guy at my school just confessed his feelings for me because while I was writing this, I got a message from him on snapchat that had a bitmoji of him blowing a kiss at my bitmoji and some smirking emojis. I was very confused though because he just does not seem like the type of guy to announce his feelings like that. I feel like he would do it in a more sophisticated way, so I’m starting to believe that it’s either a prank on me or that someone hacked his phone as a prank on him. But if it’s really him and he’s being serious, that’s awkward then because I don’t like him like that 😬😬😬 But it’s such a coincidence that it happened while I was writing a chapter about confessing with feelings! Like I’m kinda freaked out. Anyways, I did text him back with

“???”

“Is there something that you’re trying to tell me?”

And he hasn’t gotten back yet so I’ll make a post later on about how that goes once he does.

Let’s Talk #TheLoudHouse: Season 3 Final Thoughts

The third season of The Loud House was an overall great season.

For my final thoughts on the third season, feel free to keep reading. There will be spoilers.

I have previously stated my thoughts on most of the season, so this post will mainly focus on the fifteen episodes that aired from January to March. Additionally, I will present an updated version of what I consider the season’s best and worst episodes.

The third season continued to expand the show by having several episodes where Lincoln either was a supporting character, only showed up briefly, or did not make an appearance outside of the title card. It was much more free to present stories without shoehorning him into the situation.

It also appeared to jokingly poke fun at Lincoln’s role as the protagonist. The episode “Sitting Bull”, where Lynn Jr. joins her sisters’ babysitting business, has her prevent Lincoln from getting involved. “Predict Ability” pokes fun at the idea he is a bland character by his family and friends pointing out how he wears the same attire every day and his habits.

Several characters introduced in the second season returned in bigger roles. The Casagrandes made several appearances throughout the season, such as in the Thanksgiving special. One episode, "The Spies Who Loved Me”, focused exclusively on them with Lincoln only appearing over the phone.

A couple of characters from “L Is For Love” also returned later in the season. Luna’s crush Sam had a few silent cameos before she played a major role in “Racing Hearts”. Luan’s crush Benny also returned in "Stage Plight”.

This season had four half-hour episodes, twice the amount of the second season. Two of the episodes were the season’s first and last to be produced, “Tripped!” and “Cooked!”, although they aired out of order. “The Loudest Thanksgiving” served as the season’s lone holiday special. “Really Loud Music” was the show’s first musical episode appropriately centering around Luna.

The season also featured several celebrity guest appearances: Bill Mumy (Lost in Space/Liliana Mumy’s father), Jennifer Coolidge (American Pie), Jane Lynch (Glee), Yvette Nicole Brown (Community), Alyson Stoner (Phineas and Ferb), and Sean Giambrone (The Goldbergs/Kim Possible).

The season had a lot of good and bad episodes.

The Best

Rita Her Rights: A rare episode of a show aimed at a young audience that features a mother avoiding her family.

Tripped!: The standard road trip story but with a Loud House twist.

The Spies Who Loved Me: Basically a test pilot for The Casagrandes. 

Home of the Fave: A good Lynn Sr. story centering around the concept of playing favorites.

Racing Hearts: The follow-up worth the wait, it officially confirmed Luna and Sam’s relationship with a fun episode showing how the two surprisingly have very little in common.

The Worst

White Hare:  The final episode written by disgraced series creator Chris Savino, it wasted the opportunity to present an outlandish story with the original concept.

What Wood Lincoln Do?:  While there are a few funny moments with Walt, no explanation is given for Lincoln’s inability to build stuff. If it was meant to reveal that he has panic attacks, as some fans have theorized, then it should not have been played for laughs.

House of Lies: Someone’s bad fan fiction was adapted into an episode only without the forced angst.

The Write Stuff: A boring episode about Rita taking over a writing class.

Cooked!: The weakest of the four half-hour episodes, with a story that could have easily been cut down to a quarter-hour.

It will be a while until the fourth season airs. Considering how the season’s first five episodes will serve as the lead-up to The Casagrandes, which premieres later this year, it is highly likely Nickelodeon will air a later episode from the season before those episodes sometime this Spring.

In the meantime, the sixth graphic novel Loud and Proud and a DVD of the first half of the second season are both coming in May.

Something worth noting about the show is that Nickelodeon has recently begun airing a Spanish dub via the Secondary Audio Program available on most cable/satellite providers. It is the version broadcast on Nickelodeon’s Latin American networks and available on DVD as well as on the Nick app. At the time of writing, most of the show can be seen in Spanish via SAP.

“Clack, clack, clack!” The sound of Luna hitting Lori’s blue high heels on the white dresser in Lori and Leni’s room went.

It was now 3:00 in the afternoon and all of the Loud siblings had just gotten home from school ten minutes ago. They all had been gathered into Lori and Leni’s room by Luna for a Loud Sibling Meeting. 

“I hereby call this meeting to order!” Luna announced.

“Lisa, can you read the minutes from the last meeting?” Lori asked the 4-year-old prodigy.

Lisa then proceeded to whip out a piece of paper which was a review of their last meeting. “Alright. Item one: It was resolved that in the matter of Lynn’s football-”

Lisa was then interrupted by Luna ripping the paper from her hands and crumbling it up into a ball. “Sorry, we don’t need to hear that today, Lise.” Luna then chucked the paper into the trash can. “Alright, so you’re probably all wondering why I gathered you all here today.”

“Whatever this is about, it better be good!” Lola hissed. “I was in the middle of practicing for my next pageant!”

“And I was in the middle of writing a new joke!” Luan added.

“And I was just about to go play in the mud!” Lana chimed in.

“And I was just about to read my new Ace Savy comic!” Lincoln exclaimed.

“And I was just about to paint my nails with my cute new nail polish!” Leni stated.

“And I was in the middle of writing a new poem!” Lucy announced.

“And I was just about to go outside and play some soccer!” Lynn whined.

“Poo poo!” Lily cried with annoyance.

“Ok, I get that you all want to go back to whatever it was that you were doing,” Luna told her siblings. “But this is my one and only voice. So listen close, it’s only for today. And I promise that this won’t take long! Alright, I gathered all of you in here to talk about this!” Luna then revealed the love letter that she got earlier on in the day at school to her siblings.

All of them groaned.

“Ugh, not this again!” Lola groaned.

“Luna, don’t you remember that sending love letters is Mom’s thing for Dad?” Lori asked. “You should probably give that to him so he can see what she wrote for him!”

“No, dudes, this letter is actually for me! I found it in my locker this morning!”

All of Luna’s siblings gasped.

Leni then ran up to Luna and gave her a hug as she squealed, “O. M. Gosh, Luna! Congrats, little sis! This is totes exciting!”

“Thanks, Leni,” Luna chuckled as Leni let go of her.

Leni then gave Luna a nudge. “So are you gonna tell us who it’s from?”

“I-I don’t know...” Luna then unfolded the letter and showed what had been written on it to her siblings. “Whoever wrote it signed it as ‘Your Secret Admirer’. So I need all of your help to figure out who it is.”

Lori then let out a squeal. “Ooh, I bet it’s Sam!”

The rest of the siblings except for Luna then let out a teasing, “Ooo...”

A slight blush came across Luna’s cheek as she nervously rubbed her arm. “I don’t know dudes. I’m really hoping that it’s Sam, but she’s way out of my league.”

“Are you kidding me?” Lincoln asked. “She totally likes you!”

“Well she definitely does as a friend, but I don’t know if it goes any further than that.”

“Well, who else could the letter be from?” Lynn questioned. “She always wants to come over and jam with you like five out of seven times of the week!”

“Yeah, and the way that she always looks so happy whenever she’s commini-gay-ting with you!” Luan teased.

“Luan!” All of the Loud siblings shouted.

“Wow, that joke certainly did not get BI you guys!” 

The 14-year-old comedienne hen broke out into a fit of laughter while all of her siblings groaned and facepalmed themselves.

“But, Luna, despite her terrible jokes, Luan does have a point,” Lori began. “Remember that Luan, Leni, and I all go to the same school as you so we occasionally see you in the hallway with Sam. But we all know how important spending time with her is to you so we always let you two be. But all three of us have seen Sam walking in the hallway with other friends or by herself and she always seems to be the happiest whenever she’s with you.”

“Really?” Luna queried.

“Totes!” Leni agreed. “Her smile is always like ten times bigger whenever she’s with you!”

Luna smiled at the thought of Sam’s gorgeous smile. “Well, I always did think that she was a naturally happy gal. But you guys do have a point that I have no clue how she behaves when I’m not around. But I’m still not too sure if the letter’s from her, dudes.”

“Why? Is there anyone else that we should know about, Luna?” Lola asked, grinning.

“No, as of right now, Sam’s the only one out there that sends a million butterflies into my stomach. While I do have something for Mick Swagger, it’s not the same thing. I really look up to him and I think that his music is rockin’, so he’s just a role model to me. No one else has the same effect on my heart like the way that that Sam chick does. But what if there’s someone else out there who has been crushin’ on me and I just have no clue because we’re either not close or they’re just excellent at hiding it.”

“Well, it seems like you wouldn’t have a clue if anyone had a crush on you since you’re clearly oblivious to the fact that Sam likes you back!”

“Yeah, I do not enjoy feelings such as the ones that you have described and even I can see that Sam is attracted to you,” Lisa agreed.

“Maybe she’s just attracted to me as a friend,” Luna said, clearly in denial.

“Luna, why do you keep on disagreeing with everything that we’re saying?” Lana asked. “Did something that we don’t know about happen between you and Sam?”

“Nothing bad happened. But I did tell her about the letter.”

“And what did she say?” Lincoln asked.

“Well, she didn’t say whether it was her or not. But she did agree that it’s a bummer that the letter is signed anonymously. But this when we were walking to our first period classes and she had to go to chem. But, she did hug me and told me that she was excited for me right before she had to go. It surely did ignite the butterflies in my tum-tum and had me surprised because she ain’t much of a hugger. But then I figured it was because we’re really good friends so she’s just really happy that I got a love letter.”

All of the Loud siblings let out a squeal.

Luna raised an eyebrow. “What?”

Luna’s siblings all giggled at her.

Lori then put a hand on her short-brown-haired sister. “Luna, you have no idea how literally oblivious you can be sometimes. Sam was totally the one who wrote that letter! She’s probably just too nervous to admit that she was the one who wrote the letter, just like how you’re too nervous to admit to her that you’re the one who’s been sending her all of those love letters! Say, didn’t you tell us that you had a similar reaction when she told you about the letters that she got?”

Luna’s cheeks turned a deeper shade of red as she let out a chuckle. “Yeah, I did. Man, were the butterflies soarin’ when she mentioned that. I nearly almost lost my cool. But yeah, all I said was that I really hoped that she figured out who sent them to her.”

“Yeah, so she probably likes you back and figured out that you were the one who wrote the love letters, but like you, wasn’t 100 percent sure. She’s probably too nervous to ask you so she’s trying to find out if she’s right by returning the favor. And like I said, like you, she’s too nervous to admit that she was the one who wrote the letter so she’s trying to hint her feelings towards you like doing sweet and romantic things that she normally doesn’t do, like hugging you.”

“Wow, Lori, you sure do have a point there. But still, dudes, what if we’re all wrong? How can I find out that it’s her for sure?”

“Well, my advice from a few months ago still stands accurate,” Lucy answered. “Since Sam, um I mean the writer, is clearly shy, you need to give Sam a signal to let her know that you’re interested. If you receive a second letter soon after, then she’s clearly the author.”

“That’s a great idea, Lucy, but I don’t know if I’m brave enough to do that,” Luna admitted. “I’ll probably just chicken out.”

“That’s it!” Lola yelled as she hopped off Lori’s bed. “I can’t stand to see you act like this!” Lola then grabbed Luna by her shirt and pulled on it, bringing Luna’s face right down to hers. “You need to woman up! You think if Sam can’t admit that she wrote the love letter and if she’s not a touchy person that she wasn’t apprehensive when she hugged you?”

“Well, she didn’t seem like it,” Luna answered.

“Well, she probably was! Same people are just better at hiding things like that than others! But she did it anyway because she’s brave and because she really likes you! That probably took a lot out of her so now you’re going to muster up all of the bravery that you’ve got and return Sam the favor by sending her a darn signal!”

Lola then let go of Luna. Luna gulped as she stood upright again.

“Sam is coming over tomorrow, correct?” Lola asked.

“Yeah, she’s coming over so that we can jam out with my new amp,” Luna replied. “She told me that she would have come over today, but she couldn’t of because she had to go to the Royal Woods Diner after school with her family to celebrate her dad’s birthday.”

“Perfect. You can give her your signal then.”

“Thanks for inviting me to come over again, dudette!” Sam thanked Luna.

It was now 3:00 on Thursday afternoon. Sam and Luna had just gotten out of school and now were on Luna’s front porch. No one else but them were home. Luna’s parents were both at work and Lori had taken the rest of her siblings to the mall once again. Luna had invited Sam over for two reasons: to spend time with her while rocking out and to give Sam her token. Sam had only known about the first reason.

“No need to thank me,” Luna replied as she unlocked the door to let herself and Sam inside of the house. “You’ve got a friend in me and friends love to invite each other over each other’s houses.”

Sam chuckled as she and Luna placed their back packs down by the front door. “Really, Lunes?”

Luna just looked at Sam confusingly. “What?”

“Ok, you’re famous for always being able to make a song reference out of any situation, but really? Did you seriously just reference a song from Toy Story?”

“Well, I am musically well-rounded! And plus, I used to love watching that film when I was little! And I have younger sibs who watch it in front of me all of the time!”

“That’s true. It’s a rad kids’ movie. I just haven’t heard much about it in a while. Simon claims to be too old for those types of films now, so there’s no one in my house that watch it still.”

“Dude, you’re so lucky that you only have one sibling. Sometimes I just really can’t stand all of the baby ‘toons, movies, and shows that my baby sibs constantly have to watch.”

Sam just laughed. “Nah, I ain’t lucky. With Simon, it feels like I have ten sibs. He’s really a handful, yanno. He’s always buggin’ me about something, so all him and I ever do is argue mostly.”

Luna just giggled. “Yeah, my sibs and I can ever hardly agree on anything and we’re always buggin’ one another about random things, so I feel ya, mate. I guess everyone has their own issues with their family, but at the end of the day, deep down, everyone really loves one another.”

“Yeah, true. I still love my baby bro ‘though he can be really a little bugger at times.”

Suddenly, there was a loud, “Ding!” Luna peered down at the smartphone in her hand to see that the screen had been lit up with a new text notification. It was from Lola.

“DON’T YOU DARE FORGET TO GIVE HER THE TOKEN,” it read.

Suddenly, Luna received another text from Lola. “And don’t keep on complimenting her! Don’t just compliment her on her personality, compliment her on her looks too!”

Luna suddenly cleared her throat as she put her phone down and looked back up at Sam. “Sorry, dude. My little sister just texted me.”

“It’s completely fine,” Sam responded. “Is everything all right?”

“Yeah, totally! She just texted me about.. um.. where she is. You see, Lori decided to take the rest of my sibs to the mall again and Lola just wanted to let me know that she made it there safely.”

Sam smiled. “Ya know, that just shows how responsible you two are. You’re responsible to want to know that your sibs get to places safely and she’s responsible by letting you know about her whereabouts and that she and the rest of the sibs are safe. You’re a rockin’ big sis, Luna.”

Luna smiled. “Aw, thanks, Sammy. So are you!”

“Thanks, Lunes. Simon really gets on my nerves, but I try.”

Luna cleared her throat once more. She began to head towards her back pack. “But any ways, I have something that I’ve been meaning to give ya.”

Sam’s face lit up like a lightbulb. “Really? Aw, dude! You shouldn’t of have!”

Luna’s cheeks then turned slightly red. “No, I want to, luv.” Luna then knelt down on the ground and pulled something out of her back pack. She placed it within her palm. 

Sam began to twirl her hair as she giggled. “Aw, thanks, Luney-Tunes. So, what is it?”

Luna then stood back up and returned back to Sam. Her cheeks were now even more red. The butterflies in her stomach were so powerful that they were now more like soaring birds. “Well, I just wanted to say, that you are a wonderful chick. You’re the most sweet, kind, and caring person that I know. I love jamming out with you. You’re my best mate. And just because you’re so special to me, I would like for you to have something else that is also special to me.” Luna then opened up her palm to reveal a purple guitar pick. “This is my favorite pick— my lucky pick. It has brought me much luck through many shows and rehearsals. I would like for you too have it.”

Sam then giggled as she slightly covered her mouth with her one hand. “Aw, no, Luna. I could never take something that’s important to you as your favorite pick from you.”

“No, dude.” Luna then took Sam’s hand. It was a gentle grasp that sent sparks throughout the body. Luna then placed her pick within Sam’s palm and closed it for her. “I insist. The pick means a lot to me, but you mean even more, luv.”

Sam beamed as she twirled the ends of her blonde hair with her free hand. “Gee, Lunes, I have no idea what to say. This is very generous of you. I do feel bad to take your favorite pick, but I know how to make it up to ya.” She then broke away from Luna and walked over towards her own backpack.

Luna cocked her head out of curiosity. “Really? How?”

Sam smiled. She then unzipped her backpack and retrieved something out of it and placed it in her palm. She then stood back up and walked back over to Luna. “Luna, you are very special towards me as well. You are really sweet and you make the sickest jams. So, just like you gave something that was special to you to me, I would like to give you something that’s special to me. But it’s not more special than you, of course. Nothing can be more special than a rad best friend like yourself.” Sam then opened up her palm to reveal a teal guitar pick. “This is my favorite pick. Just like yours, it’s very lucky and has helped me through a lot. I’d love for you to have it.”

Luna gave a huge grin as her face somehow became so red that Luna was pretty sure that Sam could notice it. “A-are ya sure, dudette? You really don’t have to do this just because I gave you my pick.”

Sam smiled as she took Luna’s hand. It was the same gentle, yet powerful touch that could drive someone wild. Sam placed her pick in Luna’s palm and closed her hand up for her. “I’m sure. You’ve got a friend in me, luv.”

All Luna could do was laugh and blush. 

“Now, whataya say we go up to your room and rock out with our new picks and that new amp of yours?” Sam asked, smiling.

Luna nodded as she smiled back at Sam. As the two began to head towards the stairs, Luna noticed that her one hand was oddly warmer than the other. She looked down to see that Sam had never let go of her and that they were now holding hands. Luna’s smile became even larger and she suddenly felt confident.

“You know, Sammy,” Luna began as she turned towards Sam, her face becoming as red as it could possibly be. 

“Yeah, luv?” Sam replied cooly.

“You’re really pretty.”

It seemed to Luna that Sam was taken aback by that statement. Her jaw dropped slightly and Luna could of swore that her cheeks became a slightly darker color.

Sam then let out a small giggle. “No, you’re way prettier, dude.”

Luna began to giggle as well as she and Sam made it to the top of the staircase. “I’m sorry, but I disagree. You’re the prettiest chick in the school.”

Sam snorted as she began to twirl her hair. “No, you definitely have to be the prettiest.”

Luna laughed as she and Sam had finally reached her and Luan’s bedroom. “It seems like to me that we both think that the other is prettier than the other and I really don’t wanna argue with ya, so why don’t we just stop at the fact that we’re both pretty.”

Sam giggled once more. “Ok, sounds rad to me, luv.”
