The real reason of why Liu Qingge died in the original story is not that he was beautyful and strong and would have been a rival to Binghe but because if Shen Qingqiu had managed to save him, he would have earned the ultimate loyalty from him and there are no way that Liu Qingge would have let SQQ being taken in the Water Prison and/or being horribly tortured by Binghe.

He's the guy who fought for 5 years to take SQQ's body back from Bingmei.

Even if he had let SQQ being taken in the Water Prison, he would have 100% followed YGY to save him and YGY wouldn't have been killed with LQG supporting him.

Basically people would have be suspicious about the accusations toward SQQ with the ultimate loyal and rigthous guy LQG supporting him.

Imagine Keith trying to pull a fast one on Annika when she joined Perseus, as they were very concerned about where her loyalties lied.

He’d think it’d be a quick and easy thing to gather evidence that she was a traitor. What? She was young, naive, and no experience in the real world, can’t blame him. Annika’s cute as a button. Keith’d be like “Why are we so worried about this kid? Didn’t we just pick her off the side of the street?” (They did)

Annika’s feeding some squirrels at a park bench, humming to herself, smiling and shit. Then this jackass interrupts her and tries to tell her there’s a way to get out of receiving punishment for her crimes. If she told Keith everything she knew about Perseus, she wouldn’t be charged for any of her crimes and in turn not be sent to the gulag. Yeah okay bud.

Annika acts like she’s buying it, nodding her head along every word Keith says like “Yes… I wish that the things I’ve done as a child would just disappear. I never wanted it to be like this.”

LMAOOOOO I know for a fact that Keith would have seen his life flash before his eyes - he relived his entire life and beyond in those moments.

What's funny is that Keith is pretty strong, right? He's military trained, smart, tactical, but he thought "hey, this is a kid, fucking easy" and let his guard down for a split second and Annika snatches that sliver of an opening and compromises him. If he hadn't let his guard down, been as calculated as he is being with Jodie, maybe he wouldn't have been caught out. But he got complacent. He was stupid.

Let's just say, Keith learned a valuable lesson that day - the guard always remains up and you never get close enough to a wood chipper to have your head thrust into it.

I just imagine he's holding onto anything he can, desperately making sure his beautiful, unscathed (stupid) face doesn't touch the blades.

Omg yes!!!!! Talia has always been one of my favorite DC characters!! Back in 2019-2020, I like devoted all my time to reading her preboot appearances!! LMAOOOOO dw the name strawberrytalia is a Talia reference!! 😭 My old icon was a pink Talia one lol, and then I changed it because it felt too misleading since I don’t really post about her anymore.

And the reason is because there’s this really big contradiction when it comes to Talia and characterizing her. Yes, I go by preboot Talia who was a much more complex and sympathetic character and I hate what Morrison did to her. But if I want to accept Damian, then I have to acknowledge Talia as a shitty mother and that doesn’t sit right either because this woman didn’t even want kids lmao. So to avoid everything that makes my head hurt and all the pretty abominable takes here, I don’t post about her often. I think the last time I did was calling out her fans who call her Chinese rep instead of Arab rep.

No but I 100% agree with you!!!!!! Talia is very dear to me, and honestly for a personal reason, I associate her with happier, easier memories in my life and when I read all her comics. She really is for the people who have been forced to make due with their circumstances. She is so loving, and I love that similarly to Bruce, loving too deeply is one of her biggest flaws. I really loved her Lexcorps era, and I feel like she’s such a versatile character that has the potential to be a really interesting view of nature vs nurture, and I also think Damian has this potential but they’re both misused by DC. I also love her personality because honestly she’s really enjoyable in that same dramatic flair kind of way that people praise Jason for, but like Talia was the og!!!!! She has a place in my heart for sure, which is also why I avoid her tag lol because I also can’t help but feel really sad and take it personally when people hate on her. And this isn’t me saying Talia is 100% perfect or good, but I just don’t subscribe to what racist writers portray her as.

I love the Talia who saved Bruce’s life multiple times, who defied her father even if she was caught in a loop when it came to him and the League, I love how well-read she is, I LOVE how passionate and short-tempered she can be, I love that she’s both extremely selfless and selfish in the worst way possible sometimes, to her own detriment. I really love how in a lot of ways, she did subvert the dragon lady trope when she was written at her best, peak time in terms of characterization.

ALSO EEEEEEE I love that you’re looking for recs!!!! That makes me so happy!!! I’m gonna add a read more now because this part might get a little long lol!

OMG okay so I used to be a hardcore bat stan for a couple of years, so I’m speaking from personal experience when I say:

The Batfam -> Arrowfam pipeline is REALLLL

And it’s because the two families are similar in the sense that they are the only non metahuman majority, the families that pretty much carry weapons and intellect and that’s it. So therefore many of the elements and dynamics you may like in the bats are there in the arrows, enhanced even!

It’s less of a weird transition when you’re expanding genres, and another thing that helped was that the arrows are super entertaining!! They all have really strong, out there personalities, a lot of depth, and stories that touch on various political topics. The family element is also a lot more present 😭🫶 They’re not perfect, but they would def kill for each other

Ah!! But tbh I’ve started not trusting detailed reading lists because the ones I’ve followed tended to let me down a bit 😭 A lot of comics listed didn’t even have the character in them, let alone any valuable moments :(

So I think it might be better to start off with 2-3 really good, really well-loved works, and see if it’s a fit, and then maybe the reading lists will work!!

Arrows:

1. Green Arrow: Longbow Hunters is super short but it sets up really important events, has the best Ollie characterization, and is pivotal for DinahOllie imo

2. Green Arrow: Quiver. This is heavy on Mia’s introduction, and it’s very much loved by Arrow fans and it’s pr much the only good part of GA 2001. This is the first 10-12 issues of GA 2001 I believe. Sets up family dynamics!

3. Green Arrow Rebirth. I was debating on between this and GA Vol 2, arguably the best arrow iteration, but I decided Rebirth is a better place to start for beginners. Not the best characterization, but it sets up the dynamics and it has Emi!!!!

I would recommend GA Vol 2 because it is really good!! But it’s a pretty loaded run because Ollie…um dies lol and is gone, so Connor steps up and takes the mantle of GA. I’d save this for after you read the beginner ones. Also optional is GA/Black Canary which isn’t HORRIBLE, but it has a lot of weird writing inconsistency and behavior that comes out of nowhere.

For the Flashfam, I’m admittedly following a Bart reading list and going off recs from people I asked here!! The Bart reading list is a lot more legit than the ones I complained about, and I can def rb it!

I started with The Flash 1987 #92 and I’m still working my way through the run!! It’s a lot more enjoyable than I expected! Wally and Linda are fun, and Bart’s story is so interesting. I haven’t gotten to the part with Max yet but every Bart fan I know loves their relationship.

I’m a beginner to the Wonderfam still myself, but I’m planning to read Trial of the Amazons story, and then Nubia’s books, and then some of Diana’s best recs. They are sooooo fun, I’m really enjoying the Wonderfam a lot.

ALSO I might get side eyes for this but honestly I never paid attention to the Wonders or Diana because I always thought she was so boring and uptight when she’s with the League. Then I read The Witching Hour and JLD 2018 and I fell in love with her 😭 I saw her in such a different light omg.

Wonder Girl 2021 is also a really good place to start because YARAAAA <333 It’s super short too, only about 7 issues!

Okay let’s get this out of the way because this is like the only definite yes I have: FAR SECTOR ‼️ ITS SUCH A GOOD STORY AND JO IS AMAZING!!!!

Other than that…. uhhh Green Lantern: Blackest Night was one of the stories that got me REALLY into the lore and the electromagnetic spectrum (whatever it’s called lmao) it’s also a pretty fun introduction to the characters, esp Hal, Carol, Sinestro, the other Lantern corps leaders.

After that I moved onto GL 2011 except I skipped Venditti’s part lmao, and honestly this era isn’t even good, it’s just fucking insane. Wild shit happens and it’s like kind of funny.

I would definitely recommend GL Vol 3, but specifically the Emerald Twilight arc and everything to do with Kyle (he was actually the iconic GL up until they brought back Hal)

I admittedly haven’t finished the major readings for Simon and Jess yet, but I think GL Rebirth is promising for them (as in: you might like it)

There are a few others but again I don’t wanna make this overwhelming. I’m gonna go back and condense it into a smaller, more concise list soon but again…GL recs are hard 😭 they’re not very good LMAOOO

But yeah!!! If you’re looking for hero family dynamics outside of bats, the Arrows are really fun and interesting. The Wonderfam has super fascinating lore and a really good cast too. The Flashfam is my least knowledgeable sphere, but their stories and concepts are so cool and they’re very fun to keep up with. And the Lanterns are so <333 I still love them

Fault!Phil and Mandatory Family Reunion!Phil are certainly the most powerful and morally debunk (Lord What Fools these mortals be!Phil being contained easily by loony tunes logic) but the main difference (beside one being a dragon god and one being a crimelord) is that Fault would literally DESPISE MFR for what he’s doing for Techno. Well not like Fault Phil wouldn’t totally kidnap Fault!Tubbo if they finally decided to leave, but it’d be completely on Tommy’s behalf and he’d feel really bad abt it! He’s not delusional like that guy!

LWFTMB Phil is less delusional like MFR and more operating on a completely alien morality system. Also insane how Golden Apples (Golden Averice) Phil, whom is literally driven to power-hungry madness, is literally the most reasonable and traumatized his sbi the least.

BALALAFAY

What do they say when the Player Character asks them to stay in camp?  How about when the Player Character asks them to come adventuring again?

When asked to stay at camp, first time: "What...? Are you sure? But I've really enjoyed traveling!"

After confirmation: "Alright, alright...I'll be here."

When asked to come adventuring again: "Nissurgant! Onward we go! Lead the way!"

Are there any unique NPCs associated with your Tav that can show up during the course of the game?

Lmaooooo yeah.

Her attendant Bhinayn'drin can be recruited as a companion in his own right either depending on the outcome of your interaction with Nere in Grymforge or early on after reaching the shadowlands in Act 2. Bhinayn'drin is a surly, curt, disagreeable drider who wears an amulet of polymorph to regain as much of his regular drow form as possible. When not transformed into a drider, he is a bladesinger and a necromancer in my ideal world; his loyalty to Balalafay and her family is deeply ingrained in him, and he is available to romance but only if you're in a polyamorous relationship with him and Balalafay. Bhinayn'drin approves generally of being kind to Balalafay and (coming up in a second) Alakuit, a general reluctance to engage in pointless heroics, and, falling short of that, sarcasm. It can be hard to tell if he likes you because of how he is as a person, but with high approval he'll sometimes have up to 3 uncommon or better items that you missed during your exploration of the last area you were in before your long rest to collect. With low approval you'll start sometimes finding knives in your bedroll.

Her other attendant, Alakuit, will always catch up with you at the Last Light Inn regardless of when Bhinayn'drin did. He's a tender heart. It's his curse. He split off from Bhinayn'drin as they were searching for Lala when he heard of these shadowlands, and he didn't get the chance to catch up with him before Drin caught up with the party. He'll initially be met trying to help the tiefling kids behind the bar get Rolan to stop drinking and from there will have a short scene with Balalafay if she's in the party (if she's not this scene will happen at your camp.) Alakuit will be a camp follower owing to his dislike of combat, but he will make you potions and scrolls of healing spells if you have high enough approval with Bhinayn'drin and Balalafay. He also offers insight on the culture of the trio's home in ken'Arabat as well as Balalafay's family and the Underdark at large. He has a fairly encyclopedic knowledge of drow history but knows comparatively little about the surface and is gullible enough to believe almost anything you tell him. If you lie to Alakuit enough, Bhinayn'drin will get angry with you about it.

Do they have unique dialogue if the Player Character lets them die when they steal the Blood of Lathander?

She's very disappointed in you for letting things escalate like that. There was surely a way to do it that didn't involve killing her and the entirety of the githyanki creche. You've lost a lot of approval and if you were on low approval to begin with she might even temporarily leave the party (don't worry she'll join back up at Last Light Inn after a check to apologize).

Early on after recruiting her, Mayeari will explain that she was trying to get to the shadowlands to rescue a group of drow diplomats who were on their way to ratify a ceasefire agreement between two noble houses who had been at war with one another for the past three hundred years. She'll explain that the group was waylaid by Absolutists and that one member in particular is extremely necessary for the success of the peace talks: Umraëdra Hael'umraena Bräx bin'Cathan, heir apparent to the matriarchal throne of the city state Ust-Bräxaorthe. The city had been sacked by the rival Eilssath three centuries before, and the agreement brokered would see Ummi ascend to her rightful position as matriarch in exchange for taking on the Eilssath matron's favorite son as her consort. Mayeari will claim to have been tasked by the third parties who had facilitated the talks with retrieving the diplomats from Moonrise Towers and escorting them safely to their original destination, but was attacked by the undead as she was approaching the edge of the shadowlands and found that the curse made passing that direction unspeakably difficult anyway.

After rescuing Ummi and the other diplomats in Moonrise Towers, you'd be able to learn (through a series of increasingly difficult checks) that Ummi is Mayeari's younger sister, though she's unaware of this. If Mayeari is in the party when you rescue the missing drow, she will temporarily leave in order to escort them back to your camp. Yasorvir, the leader of the delegation, will insist on returning with the documents they were transporting as soon as possible, but Ummi's injuries would slow them down, so she stays behind with you. Ummi would become a camp follower while she recuperates from her time at Moonrise until midway through Act 3 which would find her moving to the [REDACTED] in the [REDACTED]. During her time as a camp follower, she can offer insights on the history between the Bräxaulean and the Eilssath and some (unwitting) insights into Mayeari's background. Ummi will also occasionally play music by the fire at night. The sisters can be reconciled through a series of conversations with Mayeari; you'll net several disapproval drops as you encourage her to bond with her younger sister and eventually reveal their relation, but the approval will bounce back at the end.

She can't die in any meaningful way but that still fucking sucked. How would you like to have a building dropped on you? Well. Give her an opportunity and you might find out. She's also annoyed because she wanted a chance to look at the mechanisms of that lance. (Says the woman who gets an inspiration for activating it.)

first off we have the same moon sign hehe :) second i'd need ur birthdays and where u were born so i can see the aspects for synastry if u want to send me those (obvs i won't post them)

but here is what i can tell u without aspects!

with you two we have an air and fire venus, and typically fire and air are compatible but leo and aquarius are sister signs aka opposite on the zodiac so this changes things. leo's.......... they are a dramatic ass sign, and here it's venus so this means easiest way to tell if they're into you is when they start being super duper showy, buying you gifts, various over the top gestures and words. they will want to make you their whole world basically and give you all the attention possible, but you have to give it back otherwise they'll lose interest very quickly. ur aquarius venus, so you might be open-minded as they tend to be and will try and let people be who they are no matter how strange (as they tend to be like that themselves) and also being opposites can mean you actually may find this very weird and interesting and you may welcome it but also at the same time eventually you may find it essentially suffocating as, while at times you may like that stuff, you also may value space too and the leo venus can end up pushing you away. also both are fixed signs so loyalty is big here too.

cap moon and pisces moon..... this really just depends on if you can work with your difference cause if you can then you will complement each other well. pisces moon means idealistic, clingy and also sensitive/emotional. cap moon means distant/detached, disciplined, but they want commitment. ur cap moon could mean emotionally you may seem closed off or disinterested and that can hurt a pisces moon as they essentially will bare all their emotions and are influenced by things around them too, just a sensitive little sign. but also their clinginess could irritate you. but again if this isn't irritating then this can be complementary because a pisces moon can help the cap become more open with their emotions and the cap moon can help the pisces become a bit more disciplined.
