it's not UNCOMMON for my RP characters to have some of my IRL issues I'm working through. but apparently my own brain went "nah that's not enough" and I had a dream last night of being this Loxodon character, and it was BLATANTLY about my weight/size insecurities IRL You see, in my mid-ish 20s my thyroid flipped its shit. Doctors still don't know why but tbf they haven't tried hard to figure it out, I'm just gonna be on meds forever I guess. But this change came with EXTREME sudden weight gain and the dysmorphia from it is something I've never fully grappled with.

A change that harsh is... still hard for me. I have anxiety about taking up so much space, crowding people, the fear of breaking a chair just by sitting in it.

And in my dream last night that was all played out in this 7ft tall fat Loxodon character, shy and sweet and kind and a good person but SO scared of how much space she takes up. Nervous in every building that clearly wasn't built for some one her size. Afraid of sitting in chairs built for smaller creatures. Moving through the world afraid of her own body and how VISIBLE that all is.

So my brain is NOT subtle and I woke up knowing I had to draw her... not just draw her, but... love her. I knew I needed to love her.

so, it uh, turns out that Yuri's patron, who is a 12 foot pit fiend guy, in life, was a lady loxodon enforcer who was so evil that she was sent to hell immediately after dying, and also she was really sexy...

LOXODON

VS GIFF

Loxodon are 7-8 ft (2.1-2.4 m) elephant people! They have more strength for lifting than thier size suggests, have thick hides, great senses, and a prehensile truck. They also an instinctive skill with stonework and sculpting, and are naturally very peaceful. They tend to value wisdom, loyalty, and community. Make no mistake though they can totally wreck your shit if provoked. Yeah, I know this was from the MtG supplement but there have been a good few of those now, and an adventure. These are integrated enough I'd say.

The Giff! Also known as hippofolk, they're spacefaring travellers who don't know or really care that much where they came from. They're 8-9 ft (2.4-2.7 m) tall, hardy, strong, filled with the divine spark of an unknown god, and surprisingly calm and graceful. They enjoy travelling, collecting souvenir weapons, explosions, and wrestling. As long as they have food, a place to sleep, and clear instructions of what you want them to do, they're happy.

Got two battles of big humanoids today! First up, Minotaur! Around 7-9 ft (2.1-2.7 m) tall, impeccable sense of direction, strong as an ox, and typically cover those massive horns in etchings and runes and bands of metal! They actually aren't quick to anger in particular, just passionate in general, they're just as quick to laughter. They value not just power, but wit and cunning, so you can still impress without needing to get rough...but they do usually enjoy getting rough.
