the words catch him off guard,   brow furrows as carlton can feel his heart-rate increase.  this isn’t something he’d accounted for,  it’s not a possibility that’s crossed his mind...  not really.  it’s never been a legitimate option.  they’re partners  —  juliet’s the best partner he’s ever had,  and ruining that is a terrifying prospect.  

no,  no,  he’s lying.  he’s kidding himself.  it’s crossed his mind more times than he can count.  he’s become an expert at dismissing the idea that he might...  have feelings...  for juliet.  it isn’t as if it’d gone well the first time he’d fallen for a partner,  is it?  juliet has caught on,  and that complicates things.

in a split second,  though,  the possibility opens itself,  and he finds it difficult to process.  damn it.  this is an ultimatum...  or it feels like one,  at the very least,  and he’s never done well with ultimatums.  they prompt aggression,  and the fact that this one isn’t happens to be as jarring as anything.

he sits in silence,  heart in his throat,  as carlton struggles for words. they’ve never been his strong suit,  he’s never been the kind of person who’s been able to think things through before the words leave his mouth,  but now?  now he feels the weight of the importance of saying the right thing.  it rests heavily on his shoulders,  and after a while,  he blinks and takes a deep breath,  finally opening his mouth to speak.

“o’hara  —  juliet...  i...  uh,  i’m not great with words.”   the words are quiet,  far softer than his typical tone,  and he swallows hard then clears his throat awkwardly   ❪  why does it feel like the words are stuck?  like they’re refusing to leave his lips as he finds himself gripped by a fear that he wishes would just leave already  ❫.   

in one last attempt to make it easier to speak,  carlton loosens his tie before continuing,   “you know that.  i’m not spencer,  i can’t...  spin nonsense off the top of my head.  i’m no alleged psychic,  i’m just a detective...  just a man with a well-stocked emergency bunker and incredibly impressive skill as a marksman.”   in the most subtle of movements,  carlton finds himself glancing down,  then right back up,  expression serious as he allows a smile to briefly flicker across his lips,   “but you’re not crazy,  it’s not in your head.    i,  uh,  i really care about you,    and not always in a way that’s strictly professional.  you’re a remarkable woman,  juliet,  and it doesn’t matter if you don’t feel the same,  it really just feels...  it feels good to get this off my chest,”

@lowkeymulti and I met I think on jenna's solo blog at first and now we here. I think they followed my oc's first? or was it here? I do not know. But listen, Violet and Jenna are peak hilarity and I can't wait to develop more dynamics tbh. It's so fun to chat ooc about random things I just wish tumblr IM's would like literally inform me of when you message me back. I am sad vervain, as opposed to regular vervain, who burns vampires. We don't always agree on like ships in media or character opinions, but it's always very chill, and no one makes anyone else feel bad and I find that's really rare nowadays. I also think that they are just really cool in general. Like it's a vibe. I don't know how to explain it. Some people exude cool.

@wiickedmagic and all the blogs that are run by the mun. I think I met this blog first years ago and then Nate’s and then Rebekah’s. Although, order is terrible for me, so yolo. I do know that I love the oc’s so much and Nate and Elisa were one of those things that really hurt my soul. Rebekah and Ric might be on their way to ruining my life just because he’s such a garbage person when it comes to her. Like that man will literally let her step on him. The characterization is really great and the oc’s are all unique and have a lot of depth. So you know, if you want to have a good time, go over there and follow!

@magickisafoot we’re pretty much ride or die at this point, ngl. We annoy each other sometimes. But no matter who comes and goes, or what dumb shit we deal with, we’re still here in the end. I literally cannot ship with anyone as easily as I can ship with Riley and honestly that goes back to Danny and Maggie on MySpace. I was always leery of people and fandoms I didn’t know. But you know what? I took a chance and got an otp that while they don’t talk like they did in 2006, are remarried, with a bunch of kids. People are so mean to her and she doesn’t deserve it whatsoever and you know what else? if you like my bucky and my steve? but you hate hers? ur in for a rude ass awakening bc I take a lot of inspiration from there and I also take a lot of her thoughts into my own.

it was meet up , make up , make out , break up . then repeat -- lainey didn't know what to do or how to think , considering most things . it was supposed to be a nice , friendly trip that she was so invited on & this happens . her feelings for barry getting in the way -- what else was she supposed to do ? to say the least , she was happy in her life , where she was . but GOD , seeing barry again made her rethink things ; however , she knew that they couldn't have gone back to their old ways , it didn't seem fair , not to her , not to him . the kiss is slow , passionate , almost needy . as his hands clutch onto her sides , lips pressing against each other's ; this calmness coming from her as they share it , the most intimate thing they could ever have . nonetheless , she knows it's goodbye . ( but does it have to be ? ) it does . it really does , for her to do something that doesn't include him & for him to fall in love with someone new . as he pulls away , she places her hand on his cheek , chuckling lightly . she knows this is the last time they'll ever have anything , really . " i am , barry . because i don't want this to go away . i don't want you to go away , " she whispers , this saddened look on her face as she lets out this short sigh , almost frustrated in herself .

who hogs the duvet: i feel like jenna does. but it’s not like a ‘im cold and i need the blanket’ thing. it’s a ‘violet is going to jump on me in a fun way for stealing her blanket’ kind of way.

who collects something unusual: i feel like jenna does but it’s not unusual in the traditional sense. but like unusual to some people bc why do you need 500 mugs with cartoons on them.

who takes the longest to get ready: i feel like it’s jenna because violet usually plans her outfits in advance.

who is the most tidy and organised: violet might be a little more.

what other couple they hang out with: aria and whoever she’s dating.

how they spend time together as a couple: I think it’s a lot of tactile stuff because Violet is very touch based. But she’s also very soft.

who brings flowers home: Neither. Aria randomly shows up with flowers and shoves them in their hands.
