Alastor Redesign

Omg there’s like over 70 people following me – guys I'm o///O flattered and flabbergasted. 

Anyway, onto today’s main event, Alastor. I hate Alastor’s og design, I hate his twig waist and his shoulder pads and the way you can’t see his antlers next to his ears, and his bow tie ugh viv please and his HAIR what even is that??? Not even mentioning that nothing about his design is really like a focal point. There’s no one thing that’s particularly interesting. At least before this he had that cathedral window looking cross on his undershirt that I found interesting. Nothing about his says he’s from the 1930’s other than dialogue. 

I wanted him to be in greyscale because that’s the coolest aesthetic, and colored photos weren’t a thing until way after the 30s. Recently I saw jjk, and Jogo’s teeth threw me because at some points I thought he was just straight up toothless. But then when I started this design, that colored tooth look spoke to me. Initially his teeth were yellow to look gross like he never brushes them, but then I was like ‘ayo wait, he’s literally a cannibal’, thus his vibrant red teeth to really pop against his greyscale. Initially his undershirt was white, but I feel like that was too much contrast and white is typically innocence, so by instead having a deep red it shows he’s just straight up bloodthirsty underneath his formal appearance. I also considered it being black, but then he looked like a pastor, and I wasn’t too much of a fan of it. The idea of the red on his design is that it leads your eye down his design to take it all in, with his face being the focus. I gave him glasses because I like the way it obscures his eyes a bit and I imagine they do the anime thing where they glow and hide his eyes. I liked Viv’s idea of sinners having marks where they died, and I slicked his hair back to show it off very prominently. His antlers are larger, I gave him cute lil deer ears. Also, under his suit he is lowkey buff. I feel like a serial killer should at least look physically capable of taking someone down not whatever the fuck viv’s nasty twig men can do. Like, in that comic with the cute sheep girl, when Alastor goes demon mode his body looks so snappable I just wanna like grab his waist in my hands and break it like a twig. I also tried to keep his design simple as if this were for animation, I know pinstripes are complicated and so are antlers but other than that I tried to keep his design basic. 

If I were to rewrite him based solely on the pilot, I honestly wouldn’t change a thing. Alastor is a decent character, his voice actor gives him life, the radio filter is cool, and nothing he did made me want to break my screen (ANGELDUST). The only thing I'd change would be his position in hell. Like, viv’s hell is so wack and I hate it, she’s got the princes, then the goetia and the overlords and then sinners and blah blah, it’s a lot to keep track of, not even mentioning the rings and circles thing. I think Alastor should have had dealings with hell as a human, maybe he routinely did sacrifices or something, and he made a deal with the archdemon Alastor and when he died like... uuhhhhhhh. Maybe through connections he’s gained more power? Idk, I just know I hate the idea of his dying and then having like the bestest most powerful demon powers despite not being hellborn. It’s got this mary sue stench. I’ll figure it out, maybe, who knows. 

I’m not gonna start rewriting since there’s nothing to go off of and alter yet, so that’s gonna have to wait until the show actually drops before anything concrete happens lol. 

Also the sheep girl is a sinner that reoccurs in the show now so sorry I don’t make the rules, you can’t give me a cute sheep girl and try to take her away, I’m gonna redesign her and shove her into the plot as someone looking for redemption at the hotel

Anyway, I randomly wanted to redesign the main cast of Ouran in my style/ with headcanons and my own embellishments

Here's a screenshot redraw, I'll put all the redesigns below the break bc I did all the main characters & wanna talk about the choices I made. Also I made up that uniform redesign on the spot bc I when I was doing the characters I just put them in casual clothes lmao

(I might do some others later, like Renge, Kasanoda, Yasuchika, Benibara, etc.)

Going in order of my least favorite to top favorite. And dont mind that I didn't color the clothes, that's not whats important here lmao

Mori is only at the bottom because I don't like the drawing that much, I still think the design is pretty good. Though, like right when I finished coloring, I decided a bun/top-knot would look better so it's a bit disappointing there. In my head, Mori is kind of struggling to figure out who he is & what he wants to do, which is why he follows Honey around and doesn't talk much. He does genuinely like being around the other hosts though.

Also, the undercut because A) he has the reputation for being the scary one & it kinda suits that, B) uh do I even have to say it? ...its hot He does lowkey look like Sokka from Avatar tho, especially with the blue accents

Honey is next because again I think the drawing itself is a little off and the design is pretty close to Basil from Omori, which i didn't notice until it was too late lmao. One of the main things I didn't like about his character in the show was obviously how childlike he was & how girls still flirted with him even though he looked and acted 6; So now he still acts a bit childish but doesn't play it up as much & definitely has a more normal voice, not a fckn child's.

Haruhi! I definitely had to keep her glasses cuz they were really cute and kinda sold the whole 'commoner' thing in a way. But other than that I mainly wanted to balance out her femininity and masculinity to make her more androgynous/nonbinary/gender-fluid since she definitely has some of that going on in the show as is. I also gave her dark circles under her eyes to kinda show that she worked really hard to get into Ouran with low status.

Next up is Tamaki of course, getting into the characters I'm most happy with the designs of. One small thing I tried to do for each of them was give them varying hair tones; so even though Honey and Tamaki are both blond, I went very platinum-blond with him. When I started drawing him, my only real thought was "he has to be a pretty boy" so I dont have much to say about my choices, but i do think I succeeded. Don't mind the modern mullet thing, I can't stop it

Kyouya is definitely one of my favorite characters as is, seeing as he has one of the more fleshed out & heart-wrenching backstories in the show. I think the only thing I really wanted to change was getting rid of the Anime Bangs, so I just gave him this kinda sleek, kinda messy pushed-back look with a blue tint. Even though it's simple, I really struggled to come up with anything, until I found a page from the author saying smth like "I don't like the idea of him wearing neat clothes" with a picture of him in like a track suit so I did kinda the same outfit

My absolute #1 favorites, Hikaru & Kauru. They're honestly the ones that started it all because Kauru has been my favorite since I first saw the halloween episode (iykyk).

I don't know why, but I wanted their hair to be fluffier/curly and more of a natural(?) ginger color. I knew I wanted Kauru's to be redder and Hikaru's a bit lighter/blonder, but only subtly. I also gave Kauru a scar on his cheek from that time in Karuizawa, but most notably, I gave them blue and pink eyes as their signature colors. Lastly, their expressions are slightly different, because no matter how much they are in sync and try to match each other perfectly, Kauru's a much gentler soul than Hikaru, so I made Hikaru's smile a bit more snarky while Kauru's is soft.

Lowkey [highkey] gave up on the clothing wrinkles on the arms, but I still like how it turned out I think. I don't have much on him in terms of rewrite, but I do have some, so I'll dump it all here under the cut.

I swear I love asks, please feel free to say/ask whatever, I'm just horrible at answering in a reasonable time-frame because I always want to make it this beautiful masterpiece and end up turning all of them into full-on posts- or, at least I want to ~_~

Headcanonssss-

Ash gave him that button off her jacket [probably needs to be resized I'm realizing lol] [also I totally adopted this headcanon from someone elses post- might've been yours. Whoever came up with it I love it <3]

Born during the reformation that happened after the war- basically, nobody was really fighting anymore during this time, but some big people in power were still being stupid [aka: not letting their prisoners go]

So that would be somewhere around 1947? Which would put his age at 61 in my universe [which is in 2008- the times are pretty much random, nothing really lines up irl. Ignore how they use tech and other things that shouldn't have been invented yet lol]

He grew up when the Skunk Dolls were new and popular and stuff. And he loved them- so much that the band actually kinda inspired his music career

[Skunk Dolls also made loads of protest songs btw. War stuff]

Takes a ridiculous amount of care with his mane, and if he lets you touch it, that's a true sign of trust

So the Piglets always like to play with it, and Ash has given him braids a few times

He's had that scruffy red jacket since his early days

I should draw patches on it-

Ash probably'll give him a quill or two to put in it too with all the patches and repair stitches

He wears a lot of plaid, I just didn't wanna draw it <3

Rough and torn up clothes too

Everything he owns has some sort of smudge or tear in it from motorbiking and/or just being himself <3

His ears are pierced in almost every way imaginable, and when Ash found out, she went CRAZY

Cue her getting him to try on a bunch of stuff

He likes wrought iron jewelry and has never been a fan of anything with gemstones in it

Buster is terrified of him, but Clay is just kinda a blunt person and it doesn't mix well with Buster sometimes. They get along eventually tho. There was also some really bad timing with the circumstances of how they even met in the first place too lol-

Johnny is also. Super terrified.

Buster and him are like "Ahhh.... that guy scares the living daylights out of me." "Ohh, thank god it's not just me-"

He has a strange out-of-pocket interest in astrology.

And in herbology and plants in general, but he picked that up from Ruby. Astrology was all his, and it is the one thing he will "nerd out" over

Also the kind of guy to make fun of you for nerding out too

Making fun of people is his love language

So is giving people food

He's not great with his words and can find it hard to express love by just telling someone. Back to the bluntness thing, you can often find him accidentally offending someone and he doesn't even realize it

The troupe very quickly learned this and it's more of an endearing trait of his to them [and to most people who know him]

REALLY good cook. Fantastic, in fact. Probably one of the best chefs out of any of the characters.

Learned the hard way that enlisting Buster's help in the kitchen is a bad idea. Also Ash isn't great either, but he actually tries to teach her some of his recipes. And she's quickly improving

Buster was just being an idiot and forgot you shouldn't microwave tinfoil

Clay travels a lot, but spends most of his time in Calatonia [he technically still lives at his and Ruby's house, but he's super scared of accidentally closing himself off again, so he only visits to check up on the flowers and maintain the property pretty much]

He's like Ash's second [and very cool] dad. Which- also intimidates Buster quite a bit :D

I feel like their dynamic could be a sitcom. Clay is Ash's awesome dad and Buster is Ash's lame [endearing] and oddly unhinged and anxious dad who feels like he has to be as cool as Clay [and always fails heehee]

Clay is more entertained by Buster's ridiculous criminal record than horrified and I don't know if that's worrying or just a classic Calloway W

He's a very nonchalant person

Ruby's death is the only time I can really think he had a legitimate emotional break that wasn't just him being snappy [which is also pretty rare]

Clay's also like an uncle to the Piglets

He's kinda just taken up the role of "super awesome miscellaneous family member" for everyone at this point

He's back performing again after Sing 2- just not frequently or putting out any new songs [on his own at least- he might do a collaboration or two with Ash]

Baylee's mah baby ngl LOL

He's really an underrated character and I wish he got a little more attention. I really like his og polo (the one with the gray) and the one from the remake too. The gray gradients really help establish the statue-look! And I love the style of his hair lol. For the remake, the floating head is creepy as shit and I LOVE IT SMMMM <3 <3 <3 He lowkey had a glow up. I wanna hug him and the bot on Character.ai of him that asked if he could hug me helped me accomplish this so hell yeah, we love hugging sentient statues

Also Baylee is such an adorable damn name for a male, it's so innocent and sweet. Fun fact about him in my AU, when I first every found Baylee it was before he had an official name and it was in a Tiktok video that's been lost to the void (I'm gonna recreate it lowkey) and it had the caption "spit yo shit Troy!" and then it said "Troy:" and showed a clip of Baylee doin his thing. So I named him Troy! Until he got the name Baylee, but I really liked both names so I decided to make it his middle name, so he's now Baylee Troy :3

His og sound is absolutely superb too, it sounds like someone knocking from inside a statue. and the high energy and tempo of it in the joyed mix is just AAAAA I love it so much it is such a vibing beat. And the way his sound for the remake is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BUT IS STILL A BANGER AND GOES WITH THE VIBE OF A STATUE WITH A FLOATING HEAD??? Bro Baylee does NOT miss we love Baylee we love Baylee so much

The only thing I don't like is that one remake. It just... removed a lot of his key details and oversimplified him. I didn't like a lot of the redesigns for the og Orin Ayo tbh ldjknfkldjb and his was honestly probably at the top of my list for worst redesigns LOL-

I just really don't like this version it doesn't feel like Baylee. The gradients really did a lot for his design and he just feels flat without them

Also for my AU! The cult gave him half-assed legs to get around on (when they promised good ones), so he kinda just waddles around with no arms. It's like tying your knees together and trying to walk, that's how he walks. He is a huge sweetheart, a very kind soul, and had a quiet crush on one of the other patients that he formed a friendship with bc this particular patient was the ex of Tab's new partner, so Tab and this patient had beef that made the patient feel bad about himself. Baylee has a small grudge against Tab because of that, but aside from that he's very sweet and kind to all.

novi stars una verse redesign! (plus what if goregous bjd-esque dolls) I did actually share this at one point cause i needed help deciding the skirt color (shout out to @/the-anxious-axolotl for the advice that decided what I went with :3) anyway! I wanted to really go with the 'diva' theme plus make her more alien, I decided that all the additional little moon like gemstones are extra eyes fndkja. and I think she'd have those like: shiny tinsel strands in her hair. and I also think her hair would be rooted and not a wig: but it could work either way. anyway: her skirts a super sparkly tule material and the beads are permantly attached to the skirt and shirt. the earings i think are glued on too but the headband tiara thing would be removable. also her skin would be like, dusted with sparkly white freckles <3

ari roma novi stars redesign: tbh I have mixed feelings on how this one came out. I iike a lot of the concepts but something bout it looks... messy? unfinished? I think it justs needs a little polish and maybe I'll do that at some point. anyway, I really wanted to keep her original hair (they're called afro puffs I think??) and the one super long strand. I thought it'd be fun if they were all decked out with hair clips and bows and a decora amount of accesories lmao.

I call it 'kowai kawaii' and it's about weeb supernatural creatures being silly. the main trio is Maybelle the ghost, Luella the vampire, and Okami the werewolf. Maybelle leans into the dark comedy side, she died at a young age and is very much like, a fucked up little ghost child. shes very cruel and enjoys others suffering. actually shes a little bit like jax from tadc lmao. Luella is super energetic and happy go lucky. she also writes fanfic. Okami is an amnesiac and a cosplyer as a play on the phrase 'wolf in sheeps clothing'

no. I used to, but my cat is a MENACE!! who tries to ATTACK THEM and will tear them up (despite having pLENTY of soft toys to play with. smh. its like..she cant tell the difference between 'soft toy she is allowed to chew' and 'soft toy that is MINE'...cat sized brain -_-...) so now the stuffed animals stay on the Shelf or Dresser, and I simply cuddle my cat like she is a little baby when its sleeping time instead. and shes gotta accept it bc shes the reason i do not have plushies on the bed anymore....take responsibility miss zilla....😤

ohhh hard question. it rly depends on my mood ngl. I love doing both! I ...think if I HAD to pick. I'd choose writing actually... its a bit less time consuming and easier lately. this answer could change in a week tho :")

yeah!! I already have one I lowkey wanna get removed bc it was impulsive and im bored of it LMAO but id wanna replace it with a birth of venus tribute, and I kinda want one sleeve thats ocean + nature themed, and one sleeve that's...vaguely rococo themed with lil tributes to other stuff I love too (omg a lil cinnamoroll tat would b so cute, possibly some pokemon and a lil masha too??) and I have HAD a tmm tat concept sketched out forever but it'd be a bigger piece, so im not sure WHERE id get it on my body, possibly...a chest/collar area placement would be ideal.... hm. also ive always wanted a lil something around my ankle, maybe a floral piece or smth. or a lil dragon around my ankle for poor 17 yr old me who threw a FIT over not being allowed to get a tat at that age HAHA shout-out to them bc that was funny asf looking back. anyway YES I want more tats but Money u know. :")

look I respect and love the way they look on other ppl but No none for me. i used to have my ears pierced but let them grow in. im lowkey very anxious/paranoid that if I got any piercings someone would try to fight me and Rip Them Out and its very irrational but very Scary to think abt. (or that theyd be around my mouth and get caught on food and id swallow them or smth kjadsfhkj) my paranoia simply Wont Allow it. But again. they are VERY cool on other ppl, esp the more alternative/big ones!! i love to see em 🥺

Starting with Naruto once again!

his clothes are based off of several unfinished ideas I had of Uzushio and how their proficiency with seals would allow them to be more flamboyant or lighter in their gear. The magic of storage and protective seals!

there are seals embroidered into the inner lining and occasionally the exterior, acting as both armor and pack. Uzushio always seemed like a rather bright place, connected to the sea, so I made the robes generally blue themed but also darker as they are still shinobi in the end and bright colors are harder to hide. 

I added a hood because Naruto just,,,, he has modern streetwear vibes. He’d love hoodies

The whole Uzushio inspired ensemble is cause I was thinking that in this au he finds the opportunity to find and visit the island itself. Probably during the time skip, considering it’s hard to really place the discovery of a long lost village within the six-month period between graduation and the chunnin exams

At first I wanted to give him like a mesh crop top to show his seal but then it kinda didn’t have that traditional vibe that I wanted, so I added the kimono top and a red obi with symbols that kinda symbolize the seal (because Naruto connects with Kurama much earlier in this AU)

The headband was honestly ridiculously tricky to place because i was trying to draw this longer hair without making it poof weirdly at the top. Plus I wanted to keep the headband where it was cause,,, cause i was thinking when he goes into tailed beast mode the ribbons flare up to look like Kurama’s ears :”DDD peek design amiright-

his hair. is longer. because i love long hair Naruto to bits and it makes him look like his parents ;;; both of them

the gloves. I have no excuse. They just Look Cool

I didn’t mention this in the other redesign post but she has dimples (though i’m really bad at drawing them

that one scene where she tied up her hair in the Kazekage Rescue Arc was so fucking beautiful I couldn’t resist throwing it in here lmaoooo

i can’t draw it right but imagine the ponytail kinda flowering out like a sakura blossom 

I took a lot of different things I liked about the older!Sakura designs and smooshed them in one with my own twist

Sasuke:

honestly I like his normal shippuden design a lot so i kept most of it

I added a cape though, cause he does travel around a bit

and as i was drawing him the collar reverted to a similar shape to his kid clothes

fun fact

the reason that his outfit remains largely the same is because

Sasuke does leave

the action itself doesn’t change, but the circumstances and the ensuing effects do. quite a bit, actually.

and no it does not take the entirety of shippuden to get him back

because he is not a revenge obsessed angry kid here

the biggest reason for all this change is cause I want to change Orochimaru cause i wanna make him live purely because I love mitsuki so fucking much

also i gave him a little half ponytail cause i wanted to give him longer hair but then realized that idk how to draw that and make it look good sO new style boyos

Kakashi? what are you doing here?:

I wanted to change up Kakashi’s look as well because it’s actually really fun to design these outfits no matter difficult it may be bUT it was difficult because I just... can’t see him without a vest. 

Not that i can’t see him without wearing a vest, because i have and it’s good and I like it, but i can’t see him going into battle or on missions without one. 

I’ve got this headcannon that the vest is lowkey like a security blanket and it’s this grounding weight whenever he’s in this adrenaline filled situation where he may suffer many varieties of consequences if he’s not careful. It has his tools and it’s his armor. Replacing it with a robe feels like robbing him of something he’s always had and is always used to

he keeps a vest

i modified it a bit to make it more right hand sided (i may headcannon Kakashi to be ambidextrous but there’s no denying he uses his right hand more) and the collar to be a bit thinner

Kakashi is like, made for biker fashion. like leather or denim jackets on motorbikes. So I gave him a haori that emulates that look 

Naruto came back, saw that Kakashi didn’t change at ALL and took it as a personal offense and dragged him around to get new threads because “Kakashi-sensei, we all upgraded our closet, you should too!”

kind of a sad headcannon that Kakashi didn’t quite let himself enjoy things that wouldn’t benefit him as a ninja and therefore just stuck to his normal outfit of ninja clothes and jonin vest. Icha Icha was the one exception and he picked it up because he had no idea what to do once he was out of ANBU (i would like to back this hc up by pointing to Boruto where Kakashi no longer really holds himself to this rigid ideal of a ninja and lets loose and has fun with Gai and Mirai)

ANYWAYS

he actually likes the stuff Naruto finds for him, though he has no idea where the boy is actually finding all this shit

some misc info about the outfits:

Naruto began learning sealing after the Wave Arc, and he took to it like a fish to water. (i have uzushio spirit hc that I will tell at a later time)

a rare nugget of information he found about uzushio seals was that they were often stitched into the clothing itself

so Naruto went wild with this

he learned sealing while practicing normal embroidery on the side and as he went on his 2-3 year trip with Jiraiya he learned more and just got better and better

He added the seal to his own haori himself and actually made one for Kakashi too. Kakashi just didn’t see him whip the gift haori from one of the stitched sealing scrolls

embroidering takes a really long time and matching it with sealing? oof, hard work. So he actually only got two done and is in process of Sakura’s next. Now that he’s back in the village, he can talk to her about certain things she would want/need considering Naruto isn’t sure what a medic-nin requires.

he made additional gifts for everyone in team seven (even sasuke, even if he doesn’t know what will happen) and hopefully as time passes little trinkets will start to appear

i just really like the idea of naruto being a really craftsy person. He just keeps making small trinkets except these trinkets have sEALING POWER cause he’s very chaotic with his experiments like that

Jeff the killer story and character redesign :) (These are all copied from me ranting/writing on discord so I may write better versions later if ppl are interested uwu)

When Jeff was growing up, he suffered from BPD (due to parental neglect and loneliness, etc), anger issues, and DPD (dependant on his brother.) His FP was Liu, and he was extremely close to him. I'm talking would do anything for his brother. Him and Liu are thick as thin.

So, their story happens pretty similarly--Except a few differences. When Randy and the boys stop them at the bus stop, Jeff gets into the fight and Liu fights with him. They both manage to get the boys off them, and then take off and run. Now Jeff isn't the only target, and he knows this, so he's on edge and paranoid and watching Liu constantly for the next couple weeks. His mother takes note of this.

The police show up to take him, and his Mom mentions his paranoid behaviour around Liu. Liu, not wanting to throw Jeff under the bus, says he did it all himself, and Jeff was nervous around him. Jeff tries to defend him, but they don't listen at take Liu away. Jeff suffers a mass mental breakdown and paranoid break that same day, and shuts himself away from everyone. His door doesn't open, he refuses to go to school, he won't do anything.

In a last ditch effort to cheer him up, his mother gently convinces him to attend the birthday party for the kids across the street. She implies he might make new friends, and his anger issues come back full force and he LOOSES it on her for the implications.

But, he calls Liu later, and Liu suggests at least going for a walk or something, get out of that room. Jeff listens only because Liu told him, pulls on his hoodie and tugs his hood up, and slumpishly makes his way out of their shared room while his parents are across the street at the neighbors.

I won't go into too much detail, but the boys corner him and there's a MASSIVE fight. A bunch of other kids from his school are there and see it. The boys pin him down, and pull out the chemicals that they brought on purpose, saying they're gonna "teach him a lesson". And up in flames he goes.

He wakes up weeks later in the hospital, covered in bandages and having no clue what's going on, but he recognizes Liu's voice and they cry and hold each other. Their Mother comes in and tells him that he won't be able to move for a few weeks.

Over the course of the next few weeks, Liu visits him every single day, and he heals slowly, and slowly begins basic physio with Liu's help. The day finally arrives he can take his bandages off and look in the mirror.

He is covered in skin graphs. All over. His hair is gone, but Liu says they can get him a wig, any style or colour he wants. He's covered in scars and his lips are patchy and his eyebrows and more are gone, but Liu hugs him tight the same as always and tells him he's still so handsome, beautiful even. And Jeff believes it.

He finally gets to go home. He's still really numb, both physically and emotionally, from the experience and from earlier that day. He hasn't let go of Liu's hand, and he's shaking. They walk in together and immediately a fight happens. Their dad is yelling at their mother, pointing at him and calling him horrific, and they're screaming at each other uncontrollably while he threatens to disown his own child to his face. Liu is holding him and whispering that he's so handsome, he's beautiful, don't listen to that fuckhead. 

Their dad is banished to the couch for the night. They go up to their bedroom, and their mom goes to bed in the parents room. Liu passes out after an hour or so of whispering to Jeff, and Jeff lays awake. He's been finding he doesn't know how to fall asleep anymore, not without medical aid and/or Liu anyways. Not that he wants to sleep right now.

He presses a hand to his face, and he can't feel it. They said most, if not all of his nerve endings were destroyed in the accident. It makes him tear up, but he can't feel it when the tears run down his cheeks. He gets up and goes to the bathroom. Everything is blurry and he doesn't know what's going on, but he's moving.

He gets in there and finds the large "traditional" blade his dad uses for shaving, which is literally just a knife. He stares at it, then looks up at himself. It doesn't look like him. He remembers Liu calling him beautiful, and tries to smile. His face doesn't quite move right. His cheeks can't properly pull up anymore, and his face is basically expressionless. Everything is so blurry and suddenly he's angry. He's beautiful. He's beautifulhe'sbeautifulhe'sbeautiful. He wants to smile. He carves it in.

He stares at himself for a minute. He can't feel the pain, and everything is still blurry, like he's swimming through the air. But he's smiling. He giggles. Good.

He looks at the knife. Descends the stairs to the living room. Finds his Dad, sleeping on the couch. Climbs on top of him. His Dad stirs and tries to scream, but he slams his hand over his mouth.

"Shut up. Do us both a favour and go back to sleep." He kills him. In a last second thought, he gives his dad a smile like his, but pulled up higher, higher, higher. He grins.

He heads back upstairs to their bedroom, and sees Liu still sleeping. He's suddenly very aware of what's happening. He stands there in the doorway staring at him. He walks closer, hesitantly going to wake him. He wants him to come with him. He doesn't wanna go without Liu.

There's a scream behind him and Liu rockets out of bed. His mom came to check on them. She's shaking and screaming to get away from her son. Jeff tears up again and spins to look back at Liu. He looks groggy, and terrified, and confused, and whispers his name. There's no time to explain. He panics, and jumps out the window, running into the woods. He can hear his mother screaming, and Liu calling his name, but he's gone.

And he never intends to come back.

- 16 years old (at time of accident), 5'5", skinny but strong and lowkey feral

- Transgender (FtM), gay. His dad never liked him for it, his mother didn't understand. But he was always Liu's brother.

- Has massive scarring from burns and graphs all over his body, and the smile which goes up about 2 & 1/2 to 3 inches on both sides.

- Has basically no pain receptors or nerve functions in his entire body

- Suffers from ODD, BPD, PTSD, DPD, BBPD, dysthimic disorder, anger issues, insomnia, and delusions/hallucionations. (Also a mild to severe morphine addiction)

- Basically targets transphobes, bullies and abusers. Doesn't go out of his way to kill at first, but soon begins serial killing out of these groups.

- Misses Liu desperately but is afraid to find him again

- Barely fucking takes care of himself at all

okay, i’m on my way home from AWA and i’ve finally had time to actually look into overwatch 2 and collect my thoughts, so here goes... this is gonna get far too long and essentially be a big essay that i know most people won’t care about, but i just really wanna get my thoughts out so i’ll drop it under a readmore! also be warned that if you‘re super into the new character designs you won’t be into part of this post, lol. but anyway:

first off, i think a lot of the discourse i’ve seen about it seems... overblown and based on inaccurate info?? (don’t worry i am not talking about hong kong here, people are absolutely justified in hating blizzard for that and so do i). people keep acting like they’re gonna charge $60 just for new maps or something but for one thing no price or release date has been announced (in fact, the dev team doesn’t even know when it will release and it’s been said that we may have to wait until 2020 for a date, because it’s still early in development), and for another thing overwatch 1 wasn’t even $60 on pc at launch?? yes on console it was which sucks but most of the playerbase is on pc, and the base game was $40 at launch for us. blizzard cannot be so colossally stupid that they’d charge more for this than for the base game, and if they do i’ll absolutely be complaining about it, but for now we literally have no clue how much the cost for OW2 will be.

and on top of that, it’s... not just new maps? it’s new maps, yes, but also multiple new heroes at launch, a whole new PvP mode, a PvE story mode which is something people have begging for to move the lore forward, a new updated engine, and the PvE will have its own maps and brand new abilities and skill trees—with the abilities and skill trees being unlike anything overwatch has done before, and uniquely exclusive to OW2 and not affecting the PvP so you’re not unfairly disadvantaged if you don’t have OW2—and i also feel the need to reiterate that it’s still in early development so i highly doubt we already know all there is to know. blizzard hasn’t been entirely clear on what overwatch 2 even is tbh but it’s certainly not just new maps and if you think it is then i’m actually begging you to spend at least 30 seconds on google because 30 seconds is really all you need to click on one article and see that that’s far from the truth.

also if you’re not interested in the lore then from what i’m gathering you don’t even need to buy it because apparently OW1 is getting all the same stuff except for that? like, people are saying blizzard should just release it all as free content, but apparently they almost are since the new “push” game mode, plus the map that comes with it (and any future ones) is coming to OW1 and it’s gonna keep getting all the hero updates and everything that isn’t exclusive to the PvE mode and players will be put into the same PvP lobbies across games?? correct me if i’m wrong on that but it sounds like if you already own OW1 and don’t want the story mode stuff you literally don’t need to buy OW2 at all—so if you do then you’re just buying the story mode/PvE stuff, that’s it. and if you do, every cosmetic item you already own will transfer over! it’s also not like OW1 is done updating, as we know we can still expect new heroes in it before OW2 releases.

don’t get me wrong, i am a bit worried that the amount of new content won’t be enough to justify the price, i do still hate blizzard for the entire hong kong controversy and desperately wish they would do better, and as a massive lore enthusiast and someone whose primary reason for loving overwatch is based in its characters and world i am very frustrated that this is what it takes for the story to actually move forward, but i’m also really excited to see where this all goes and i honestly think people are largely just complaining without actually looking into what they’re complaining about. i also literally don’t understand the idea that “lol overwatch already had this for like a week before they took it out” about the PvE stuff and would like someone to explain that to me if possible because i’ve been playing this game since very shortly after launch and i’m confused asjdjdnfkd

that all being said i do have what i’m guessing is a pretty unpopular opinion though, and it’s that i... i don’t like most of the character redesigns we’ve seen, and the ones i do like i mostly just kinda like, i don’t love them or feel excited about them, while the rest i’m neutral toward or hate, and that actually really upsets me because the ones i hate most are for two of my most favorite characters and it makes me worried for what they might’ve done to redesign and potentially mess up my other faves—but i guess these will be the designs going forward, and everybody’s pretty fanart is gonna have these designs, so i’ll just have to get used to them.

to be more specific on that last point: i absolutely hate lucio and mercy’s hair and i’m honestly really sad about that, especially since i run a mercy appreciation blog and i don’t wanna celebrate her new design on it because i hate it so that would be very insincere of me but i don’t wanna say negative things and complain on it either, but i just think her hair looks so strange now. and i like lucio’s outfit tbh but his weird neon glowstick hair just... ruins it, it looks so bad to me i can’t stand it and i want his regular hair back. i would honestly prefer not to even acknowledge these 2 designs (well, mostly the hair i guess) exist if i could help it. i also don’t like reinhardt’s beard or bun although i am glad to see his face exposed and like the lion on his armor, and i can see his new hair possibly growing on me eventually. and while mei’s design is mostly okay i loved her old hairpin, it was distinctive and cute and i’m sad it’s gone because i dislike whatever it is that’s in her hair now sjdjdkgkd. also before seeing a side by side comparison i legit had to ask a friend if anything was even different about winston or if i was just blind—which i guess, considering how i feel about the others, is a good thing for me lol. but if you like all these designs that’s valid and i’m happy for you!! just don’t expect to see me praising them, but i’m also not gonna be super negative like this too often either.

for kinda-positives: i actually do really enjoy one single new design though, and it’s genji’s, but not for any specific reason other than i’m excited that he’s finally wearing clothes lol. i don’t feel strongly either way about the design of the clothes themselves (...though i do lowkey agree with the people saying they’re boring looking, but hey, my man is finally done running around naked everywhere, so i’ll take it). and i like tracer’s new glasses and the fact that she ditched the crocs finally!! i’d also like to talk a bit more about mei’s design—a friend of mine is saying people are complaining they slimmed her down, and i haven’t seen any of that for myself but if they really are then i uh... don’t get that? she still looks just as fat to me?? i’ll just let this comment i made in discord as soon i saw the new designs speak for itself:

so yeah, if she is any skinner it’s because of the newly normal-sized coat, because when i look at the models side by side she legit looks the same size to me or maybe a little bit smaller—but hey, who knows, maybe i truly am just blind! but anyway, if you gave her old hairpin back then i’d honestly have no issue with her new design.

i truly hope the new designs will grow on me more though, especially mercy’s because the feeling of having an appreciation blog for a character you love a lot and not being able to celebrate something like this is a feeling that really sucks, but i... feel very alone in disliking them as much as i do and while i’m glad everyone else is happy i’m sad about that?? at least all the old skins will still be there though, so ultimately i suppose it isn’t that big a deal, i just really really hope i don’t hate symmetra or hanzo’s redesigns too whenever we see them, assuming that every character is getting these design overhauls.

i’ve also had the time to finally watch the gameplay trailer and the cinematic, and you know what’s one of the things i’ve always loved about overwatch? the maps have always been gorgeous, and the ones shown in the OW2 trailer are no exception and i can’t wait to fully see them and explore them. the gameplay itself looks solid too imo and i am very excited to see sojourn will be added to the game, she’s gorgeous and i love her. and the cinematic!! it had so many cute little details, like the ana & baby pharah photo and the birthday photo, and tracer having that picture of emily. and the winston-tracer-mei friendship, getting to see genji and rein being badasses... seeing brigitte and then echo both show up, mercy and mei having that cute little moment, everybody working together and being amazing. the scene between brigitte and tracer that was adorable, the fact that rein made a terrible “ice to meet you” joke the second he was introduced to mei. seeing winston so happy to be able to say that overwatch is back. just... it was cute and cool and fun and i liked it a lot, it reminded me of what made me fall in love with this game in the first place and it made me really excited! i also think that the story should’ve moved forward like this much sooner and that we should’ve been getting much more shorts and comics in between, and i also wish that we didn’t have to wait until overwatch 2 to get sojourn because we still don’t actually have a black woman that we can play as and that really really sucks, but i’m still looking forward to everything as well.

so, in conclusion: i uh... may have mixed feelings about some things but i have to confess that i’ve loved overwatch for years, many of the characters are very special to me, and i’m genuinely excited about overwatch 2. i fully intend to start looking into charities that support hong kong as soon as i can because i want to actually do something for them and show that i’m not ignoring what’s going on over there, but i also wanna buy overwatch 2 whenever it’s released and i feel excited to play it. unfollow or block me for that if you have to but nothing good would come from me being ashamed to say it and i won’t hide it, i definitely hate blizzard but it doesn’t remove my love for the world they created. i‘m going to donate to hong kong charities and i‘m also going to buy overwatch 2 (which probably won’t even come out until 2021 or something), and i feel like giving more to them than i give to blizzard instead of just not doing anything at all is a fair enough way to deal with this issue especially since i am doing my best to boycott them otherwise. and if i play the new OW2 content and it sucks and/or just isn’t worth whatever the price is i’ll complain about it then, and if/when we see other redesigned characters i’ll probably complain about some of them too, but for now i really am excited for the most part!

So in the OLD OLD canon... (before Sol and Min existed) Equinox and Mandy ended up together. And they were my all-time favorite ship. So I designed their future kids. Acelin was one of those kids Evaline was the other but that’s a convoluted story now.

I actually made him just as I was changing my mind about these two, so I never really got to spend much time with him. Anyway, I really like this old drawing I made, so I redesigned him to better suit how he would look now with the updated designs of his parents. (Lowkey wanna redraw that picture too.)

So I think he’s just an AU kid now. The AU where Equinox and Mandy didn’t breakup and had a kid, but they did the responsible thing and got a divorce when they realized it wasn’t working out instead of dragging out. Sorry... NOW we move 2 his current design circa late 2016. i genuinely love him too fucking much to let him go but theres not really much i can do w him when hes still a xephos. so i kinda redesigned him (i still!!! rly love his previous design it still means the world to me) and gave him a name i temporarily used in rp (march, from march hare, bc me an jack did a wonderland theme w it)

i’ve almost always had keroro gunso/sgt frog in the back of my mind guiding me on design shit.

and i was. u knoe . very ready to implement designs from keroro into stuff. so whilst the visor itself was always from the other stuff i mentioned but the thing was that like. x/march’s headphones could pop out kinda u know. and be connected 2 shit. like have shit plugged into them. 

but i just think its rly funny bc like. we’ve come full circle. because im taking an oc of mine and remaking him into a keronian. when he was previously unrelated to them except in one way - during a time where i didnt do any keroro stuff at all, merely just remembered a couple elements from the past that i loved and wanted to incorporate.

i redesigned casey and now i kinda ship him w/ sal..... i’ve been Developing him a bit too and this is what ive come up w,

sal and casey would be a cute couple imo.... they'd probably butt heads at first, bc casey butts heads with Everyone at first by nature, and he's really argumentative naturally whereas sal is kind of Nervous around new people, but like... sal can find the good in anyone, which is somethin' i think casey would need, because he's not good at expressing the good in himself!!then they probably found some middle ground......... sal has a very calming presence, i think, he's a very Sweet person and people like being around him a lot........ but he'd definitely be someone who wouldn't judge him or say anything cruel, he always puts a lot of time and consideration into the people around him and i think that'd be something very good for my boy, cause then he could also just....Develop a good and nice friendship with sal!! they probably became real close real quick and it....confused everyone, i bet!! casey probably gets frustrated sal doesn't tend to Value himself as much as he should and doesn't really stand up for himself. i feel like casey is.....Very Open about finding Sal attractive but just not in front of sal, like he's casually just like "hey, how is that man single when he looks like a literal god, jw. askin for a friend" and everyone in the groups like..........hey man do u wanna date sal? kinda sounds like you wanna date sal,

Casey is secretive to No One, except for Sal...................whenever Sal is around he clams up! He ain't gonna say nothing gay in front of that boy (who he would totally smooch if he offered tbh) i picture casey being like, that one kid w/ no friends who watches anime and decides he's gonna learn japanese........

Casey draws Anime in his sketch book which he shows to no one except friends, and also hates being asked to draw someone because he thinks its totally uncool (he'd probably draw sal if he asked though) he's probably pretty good by now since.......Not havin friends gives you time to work on stuff!! I think he'd be interested in animation to some extent, too!! casey is also a photographer and has a degree in filmaking....I Imagine him RLY wanting to take pics of sal but being too shy to ask, also he puts timers so he doesn't like sal's selfies too quickly bc he Doesn't Want to Look TOO gay. he probably flirts with sal a bit but makes sure it's mild and sounds like a joke!! sal has.......No Idea, honestly, he's just like.....Totally clueless to it, I mostly picture sal as having........ Self esteem Resembling a rollercoaster and sometimes he'll be like "YES I AM GOOD AND PEOPLE LIKE ME" other times he's like "me? i am a garbage rat and i come from the sewers, my truest home," so has a hard time really Believing people like him, For Some Reason, casey probably lowkey wants to confess but doesn't know how, he's also probably mildly terrified he's gonna make sal uncomfortable bc he really values the friendship and.....Doesnt wanna Gay It Up if it's not needed,  i kind of think casey's probably had a few friendships that...........Didn't pan out, bc they found out he was gay and got very Weird about it, and he probably tries to......Not Replicate that, despite sal being Very considerate..... he singlehandedly organized a gsa in highschool and then also planned their Queer Prom almost Completely by himself...........  he's like, the last person in the world who would be unkind to casey about something like that!! 

  Casey is just a nervous boy who often worries about being Accepted, even by other Very Gay folks...........he's probably a lil nervous about like, intimacy and stuff. doesn't like being touched without being explictly asked.......

he had a casual relationship with riley but riley is.............Very chill, so i think it wouldn't be too unpleasant for him.............. casey probably doesn't like not being the one in control though!! it works out bc sal is kind of uncomfy w/ sex in general and demisexual......... he's not adverse to it but it does make hm nervous!!   

he animates sometimes in his freetime, i think, he has.......Lots of free time, lbr, his  parents are both like...... Doctors, so he doesn't worry that much about Money or anything! and tries to fill his spare time with...... Whatever, really, he pobably has a few weird skills he never talks about,

mitch was probably casey's first real friend... he and riley didn't know eachother very well by the time riley dropped out, but he and mitch both stayed and finished college, so they probably became pretty good friends!! mitch stayed in touch with riley, so by extension so did casey. otherwise casey probably would've been too insecure to put any effort into the connection.

he’s kind of typically “flamboyant.” snarky. will not take any shit. he’s a photographer, he has a degree in filmmaking and enjoys it a lot. very secretive, doesn’t really share any personal details with people. pretty judgemental. will comment on your outfit if he thinks it’s bad or like… straight up laugh at your opinion sometimes. he can win arguments but……Often Unintentionally hurts feelings doin so!!

he secretly likes people more than he lets on he’s just….Super bad at socializing because he’s like inherently argumentative and cant turn it off. he was also not a popular kid, he moved to a new town and was really chubby  and people were just… not nice to him. he was v self conscious ab it!! hes Very New to friendships!! his first real friend was when he was an adult already.  he’s got a lot of softness inside of him!! 

OTHER FACTS...........

*casey self harms, he’s not proud of it but doesn’t hide it either.......

*he’s been diagnosed w/ adhd and anxiety but...... Does Not Believe He has either of those things

*constantly on the defense

*doesn’t have a good relationship w/ his parents but..........Doesn’t really bother fighting w/ them, they’re not the nicest but he just.Gnuinely doesnt care anymore.

* he and sanchez dont have the best relationship,casey’s theory is its bc he used to be fwbs with riley and Was Not at all subtle about it but like…. when he first meets sanchez he comments how he thought he’d be taller, and then immediately follows it up with “Btw, i fucked your bf.”
