Which brushes do you use nowadays?

(as a side note: love your work! those portrait wips are looking amazing! ngl I don't usually go for sam in game but you made him look so good, I'm swooning... ;O;)

thank you very much! 🥺💛 it's a bit hard to say, since i switch 'main' brushes constantly and play with no fewer than 5-10 brushes per art piece - so i'll recommend 2 clip studio paint brushes that i use semi-regularly!!

first is the 'it is a brush' by bunnyclvb (ID: 1745703)

second is the 'mameo pencil' by mameo (ID: 1870475)

both should be free to download! i also occasionally use the DAE ink & pencil brushes, and a lot of the default CSP oil paint brushes! i hope this helps!! ( •̀ .̫ •́ )✧

I don't mind you asking at all! I use Clip Studio Paint, I do have my brushes up for free on Patreon but I gotta update what brushes I now use

Though I'll be honest I wouldn't recommend CSP unless you're animating- that was the only reason I got it ngl, I use to use Medibang or Firealpaca, both work perfectly well and they're a good free option!

Whoa jojo. The way you portray the kings dark of the darkness was really good. I also like how you even have put yin yarn from epic yarn, which I thought was cool.

Also how did you make that effect and what brushes you used in the third image. It really got me curious. Ngl

The sketchy brush I used in the dark panels is called HiBi Pen! I LOVE this brush. I downloaded it years ago off the CSP Asset store back when it was free- it is no longer free :P but the link to it is here if anyone wants it! But I’m sure you could make your own brush or find another textured brush of your choice :3

Happy to show you how I did the effect! I basically just did the loose sketch in one color and really just scribbled with it like I was shading something with a real graphite pencil. The pressure options on the pen are delightful. Then I just used a clipping layer above it to color in just the lineart with the same brush!

Here’s what it looked like with the clipping layers on and off :D This’ll probably look different on other programs.

You’ll also have to excuse my chaotic layer organization. It works for me but is probably mildly unpleasant to look at xD

So yeah! I just kinda went wild with scribbling and texturing it! I think my pen nib does not like me after that page hahaha.

Difference is so subtle but interesting… They all look good so it's up to me to decide which one I want

I drew the old ones yesterday!

Did a redraw of Kuroha's face cuz I wasn't fully satisfied

I've been playing around with a new brush. I usually use CSP's old Oil paint flat brush (Version 1.10) but I've been trying out Aalmaluar (@/aalmaluar.t)'s brush set.

It's harder for me to control right now since I'm not used to it, but I love the weighted strokes… It's clearer and sharper than my old brush, which has a blunt softer edge. Both are nice

My style has really prominent thick eyelashes so it just doesn't look good when they can't be seen. I think the compromise for the black snake skin scales on his face is to lower the opacity to a dark gray, use a dark screentone, or use pitch black but outline the lines with white.

I bought from Aalmaluar's brush pack and figure drawing/gesture drawing challenge set, so I wanted to test out the brushes. I wanna level up my art game (over time) 🙏

That brush has a really crisp look… And can draw finer details easier

The oil paint flat brush I'd been using since 2022 ~ 2023 has a blunt edge and softer look

I think using a dark gray or dark screentone looks the best in this case. Both of Kuroha/Saeru's designs are really good (tfw a Konoha recolour is still peak)

I love the Manga design's cute hair tufts, black horns, black snake skin scales on his face, black/red darkened gradient limbs, and braids in the back that resembles a scorpion's tail like Judar's braids 🖤 ❤️ 🤭

Like the art style SHAFT chose for MCA is sooo… ugly. Doesn't capture my faves' beauty at all

Ene is SO pretty in Sidu's art style and MCA just doesn't capture my wife's cuteness at all (aside from some chibi Ene scenes)

Though content of my faves is still content of my faves, I'll take what I can get

I assume it's either like… gray and black, or red and black for the top and bottom clothes? Cuz the colours used in the Children Record Re:boot MV don't actually correspond 1:1 to the canon colours, so I wonder…

KuroEne AU: Dialogue Scripts (WIP)

Reminds me I had this KuroEne AU idea before:

Ngl it would be really fun if Ene in her tsundere denial tries to tell Kuroha/Saeru that she would not be doing this with him (being intimate with him) if it weren’t for the fact that he’s possessing Konoha’s body. Kuroha gets amused by the seeming challenging nature of her insinuation.

So then, Kuroha/Saeru uses Konoha’s Eye Ability, Awakening Eyes, and changes his body, appearance, and clothes, turning into his alternate form (Manga Route 2 Design) in front of Ene.

Ene counters him with how, even if he’s changed his appearance, he’s still using Konoha’s body.

F: Also wanna point out the fact that these hair parts looks like hamster ears (specifically the non-perked up ones) It looks like sad animal ears in general 😭 He looks horrifyingly stupid-ly cute

Diwa is preferred! I'm not really used to people calling me Jengarie, ngl, but I don't mind it!

What app or program do you use? And which bruses

I use Clip Studio Paint Pro to draw! For animations, it's still CSP Pro but I also stitch the parts (because CSP Pro has limited animation features 😭) and add effects on Adobe Premiere.

For brushes, I tend to change things up every once in a while! I just go for what feels best at the time. Right now, I use block brush! for sketching and SOL for lineart and coloring! (Note: I like to edit the settings on my brushes!)

But the ones that are being posted lately, I was using a different brush then. I'm not too sure anymore, but I think lineart at the time was drawn with Charcoal001 from this charcoal pack.

clip studio 800+ brush set by Frenden - i would buy this set solely for Wett Chett it is my absolute favorite textured colorer (? flatting brush?) ever ever ever but ngl i have a lot of faves from this set! the variety is insaaaaane and its still being updated to this day (when i got it it was only 400 brushes lol..)

im ngl anon, i usually almost always start my shading with a regular airbrush!!!

buuuut for rendering, ok i use other brushes sometimes but a lot of times i use the 13th brush from this pack in csp:

AAAAA TYSM...... Iv gotten like a lot of msgs as of late asking abt my brushes etc, i think im gonna end up making a simple explanation vid abt them & my technique (since it affects the look of my stuff more than my brushes ngl)

But in short so i can link this to people, i use clip studio paint, and i use a mix of brushes, all of which have a SQUARE TIP (idk i just rly like the feel of it!)

I mess around a lot with DENSITY SETTINGS, using pen preassure. Lower density givs a square brush a more fun blurry feel :)

I've been messing a lot w opacity w pen preassure too as of late; it yealds a much sharper edged brush!

As for texture- i think i honestly just have one of the csp standard pencil textures on a low opacity, maybe in overlay mode??? Ill get more into it w my proper thingy!!!! I like to habe jist a lil bit of texturw......

A big part of my work is also just, the fact that im messy, adds a lot of texture.... :0 remember w play w ur pieces lads.....

my earliest drawings i used procreate on the ipad but then i (and brace yourself for this) then bought CSP on the computer after i purchased a huion kamvas pro 16. and ngl it didn’t really work out but from i think july and august onward i’m now using photoshop. im a class traitor i know but god damn the brushes are (chefs kiss) and also i love stealing people’s brush packs lol but also i switch alot from CSP to PS it honestly depends on what i want the end product to look like or if i’m just sick of one program. if you wanna know what i’m using currently though it’s def PS
