i’m starting a new book soon!!! but i can’t decide if i want to start Our Wives Under the Sea or one of the witchy books i recently got. but i LOVE sapphic romance novels, it’s most of what i read lately

all of them honestly, but i really prefer sweet things i think!!! i would kill for someone candied honeycombs right now. but honestly my favorite is salty, especially if it’s mixed with sweet!!!

Day 3: Loverboy

Lance had made it back home after the war and living life on the family farm. Things seemed alright, for the most part at least. The youngest McClain sat outside on the front steps looking up at the clouds lazily rolling by, some gathering and looking darker.

“Looks like it might rain,” Lance jumped at the sudden voice. Glancing up to see Rachel with her hands on her hips. “That’ll be good for the crops at least,” she sat down next to Lance. “But not so much for a longing heart.”

“W-What do you mean, I-I’m fine,” Lance said looking away.

“Mhmm, sure. Oh, mamá told me to give you this letter from Jade,” Rachel said, leaning back. 

“Really,” he looked over quickly enough you could hear a snap. 

“Hahahaha!!” Rachel laughed harder at her brothers’ reaction being exactly as she thought it would be. Lance blushed in embarrassment falling for such an old trick.

“Hey knock it off will ya,” he crossed his arms looking at the ground.

And if he was being honest, he missed everyone. Pidge, Hunk, Shiro, Anya, hell even Mullet. But why was it that whenever someone talked about Jade did his heart beat just a tad quicker, his face get a bit hotter, and his mind a little muddled? These were some things that he couldn’t understand fully. Sure he hit on other races and the like out in space. Even some flirted back but none made him feel like this, so why?

“Hey, still there?” Rachel tapped his shoulder. 

“Y-yeah, what gonna tease me again,” Lance pouted.

“Only if you stop lying to yourself,” she relaxed again.

“What are you talking about?” he said, confused.

“You’d think someone with the nickname like Loverboy, you’d be able to see the signs.” she sighed getting ready to be blunt with her oblivious little brother. “You miss her don’t you.”

“Course I miss Jade, I miss everyone,” he paused and looked back to his sister.

“I never said who,” her smile slowly creeped onto her face. Lance slowly processed what she said. Out of all the people he knew he said hers first, then it dawned on him.

“Oh...Oh,” then the puzzle pieces clicked and his face had gotten the reddest than it’s ever been.
