The book I illustrated last year is available to purchase and NOBODY TOLD ME! How can I spread the adorableness that is Seymour if NOBODY TELLS ME?!! Ack!!!

It’s a lovely story about a boy who needs surgery and the adventure he has with Seymour while he’s under anesthesia. From the author’s own experience and becoming a doctor because of it, it’s a tale told to soothe scared adolescent patients.

There are pirates and rock monsters and flying trains! It’s lovely and fun!

I just finished Fellow Travelers and have unlocked a new level of trauma. Also feel closer to my gay uncle (who passed years ago, but whom I dearly loved). He was almost 30 yrs sober when he had a heart attack. His mother was psychotic. His sister was bisexual and loved him unconditionally. One of his brothers was murdered. The other was my homophobic dad. He was a teen in the 60's. Moved to San Francisco. Came out in the 70's. Went to Pride. Suffered severely from depression.

Because of that side of the family and their mental issues, he only had one partner, for a decade. A lovely guy from Denmark, they had us call them Uncle Fred & Aunt Erik. He was happiest when visiting Erik's family in Denmark. Never knew why they didn't move there…but hell if he didn't have his scars and traumas.

Living through the 60-80's gay was a lunacy nightmare. I witnessed so many screaming matches between my dad and him over his LGBT rights advocacy. I grew up watching him lose friend after friend to AIDS. He never lived to see gay marriage legalized. Even in the safety of a beautiful, LBGT friendly coastal Redwood town(Guerneville, California), he had his business vandalized.

I have always hurt for him, but was proud he lived his life the best way he could. Looking back it seems so insane that anyone would care SO MUCH about who you loved and/or lived with. The amount of time and government $ spent on spying to turn in "offenders" when people could have just minded their own heckin business just blows my mind. But I hope we never forget this time period, so that it never happens again❤️🏳️‍🌈

"The Corriere dello Sport, authored by Fulvio Solms, came out today with an interesting behind-the-scenes story showing how the delegitimisation of Mattia Binotto was already underway. Gunther Steiner, Haas team principal, chose Nico Hulkenberg as second driver in place of the ousted Mick Schumacher, saying no to Antonio Giovinazzi and Robert Shwartzman, the two candidates proposed by Ferrari for what seemed to be a seat in the Prancing Horse's availability.

Haas chose Hulkenberg, a driver who happens to fall under the influence of Frederic Vasseur. According to Corriere dello Sport, Steiner did not create any problems by going against the wishes of the Scuderia, because the Alfa Romeo team principal would have arrived in Maranello as team principal anyway and would not have broken the close ties with the American team so deeply rooted in Italy."

as a child there's nothing cooler than a kid who gets subjected to evil experiments and gains special abilities. it's even cooler if these abilities also cause unfathomable suffering to use/against others. children love stories like this.

i think theres this idea in the general public that the "best" fanfic gets turned into real books like 50 shades of grey. but the truth is that the best fanfic can never be published as an actual book because its intricately woven into the canon material so its inseparable even if you change the names

I could think of no better way to share the news than this!

So when I was 17, my cat went missing and I'd given up hope of ever seeing him again.

Until on Monday, 27th of May, 2024, my friend sent me a FB post asking 'isn't that your mother?' about the person named on the microchip.

Here he is! 16 years old, and found safe, twelve whole years after he went missing!

Yesterday (Tuesday the 28th of May, 2024) I went to the rescue that had him, and I reclaimed my boy, renaming him Artie! (He'd originally been called 'Cat' because my mother and I couldn't decide on a name)

He's home safe with me now, currently inhabiting my bathroom and purring up a storm every time someone goes in there!

I'll be doing slow introductions between him and my current cat to give them the best possible chance of living in harmony!

Apparently the local university’s undergraduate entomology course sends students to catch insect specimens at the same place I like to go birdwatching, which explains why I saw three enormous frat looking dudes with tiny bug nets and overheard one emphatically say “bro BRO I told you we already have enough lepidopterans”
