After so many months of shitty Kdramas, lovely runner is bringing back the thriller and the overdramatic lovey dovey rom com kinda setting where the male lead is an absolute loser and simp for the female lead and I'm here for it. Like even the stakes are high with that psychopath on the loose. This is the kinda thing I'd eat up in kdramas initially and what made me fall in love with it. Let kdramas be absolutely batshit crazy and unrealistic sometimes. It's okay.

Plus Sunjae is such a loser in love. Ep 8 killed me.

falling for all the loser in love characters in a show/book that try to come off as cool and indifferent is so fun cuz their future partner be doing weird shit and embarrassing themselves and you'll be silently screaming and hiding your face cuz of the second hand embarrassment but then you realize this fool with heart eyes is definitely squealing like they got a high school crush and hypothetically kicking their legs and punching the air over that and that helps you calm down

Imagine being Seonjae and having all those memories from 3 (!!!) different timelines come back to you at once, all about that woman you feel strangely almost magically drawn to and who has just a little while ago rejected you, referencing the person she loves as the reason she and you can't ever be a possibility, and you realise that in a past you only now remember, a past that your current self hasn't truly lived but did, you loved this woman more than your own life and saved her from harm time and time again, that this woman went back in time again and again and again to make sure you lived, even if that meant she had to decide that she and you had to be strangers in the end, and that the reason she blocked all your attempts of becoming closer to her (some of which were almost more unconscious than conscious) because you were in fact the person she loves and that she is once again trying to protect you from harm, even at the expense of her happiness

It is kind of amusing looking back how unconcerned Im Sol is about stepping on butterflies. She's trying to change the future, so I guess it makes sense, but she doesn't ever seem to worry that she'll make a mistake, she just bulldozes ahead.

I wrote earlier about how Sol's brother said he wouldn't trade his life with his wife and kids for any other dream but how his life actually sucked in the 1st timeline.

Then here in this episode, we have Sol's bestie saying she wouldn't gamble her life with her husband and kids for a potentially better life but her life in the 1st timeline was kinda blah, with a normal job and zero love life.

Sol's brother and bestie are telling her 'don't change things, don't look for greener grass', when they are BOTH benefiting directly from Sol's unintentional intervention in their lives that resulted in them falling in love with each other to bring them the happiness they truly desired.

So let Sol & Sunjae change whatever the hell is necessary to stay alive and healthy to be truly happy together for the rest of their lives. I'm begging you writernim. They should be allowed to change their fates for the better, just like they are doing for everyone else.
