Bucky has always enjoyed a bit of romance! She had several serious boyfriends as a young woman, culminating in her relationship with Jack O'Hanrahan, her fiancé, who would die in the Battle of the Bulge. She had always planned to marry and start a family, so romance was something that she actively sought, though she had high standards for the men she dated. She stayed loyal to Jack throughout the war (Bucky's no cheater!), and the news that he'd been killed hadn't yet reached her when she fell off that train.

As the Winter Soldier, she did not seek romance. But she found it anyway, in the form of the Black Widow. Their relationship was intense, but brief; they were together for only a month or two before being forcibly separated, at which point the Winter Soldier's memories were modified to erase all traces of Natasha. The Winter Soldier engaged in no other relationships following her memory modification.

In the present day, Bucky and Natasha have reunited and rekindled their love, and they're in a steady, long term relationship. Despite all the horrible things they've both gone through, their relationship is surprisingly strong and healthy. They understand each other, love each other, and take good care of each other. Bucky has said repeatedly that Natasha is her home.

Yawning as she stepped into the kitchen to fetch herself a cup of coffee, she saw Natasha over by the coffeemaker. “Mornin’, princess,” she tiredly mumbled with a faint smile, pulling out one of the many coffee mugs she owned before she happened to notice something from the ceiling.

“Wait, is that...”

Yup. Mistletoe.

Now, Amelia was fully awake. She smiled over at her wife. “Are you getting your decorating tips from Stark?” she teased before cupping Natasha’s cheek, leaning in and tenderly kissing her.

Hurting Natasha with their insensitivity. She always did this.  ❝  I didn’t mean it like that    i just meant     i mean, really there’s always adoption and that’s more important right? ❞

For a moment she wished the ground would swallow her whole. But instead, she shook her head and said, ❝ Nat, no, a child should not have a bow, it’s dangerous, I’m surprised I didn’t die before hitting my late teens, ❞  with a smile on her face, adding,   ❝ Really I’m sorry, I don’t think before I speak sometimes. ❞

I'm just lucky enough to be the person she loves."

It was nearly impossible to figure out where her life was going to take her. She never really knew from day to day. After all Bobbi has been through she sometimes thought that a nice day job would be better. She imagined being able to work in a research lab or at a large hospital. She was considered one of the best field agents in SHIELD history, yet she found herself yearning for a simpler life. Bobbi had to constantly remind herself that this had never been her first choice at a career. She seemed to just stumble upon it. She would not even mind locking herself in the SHIELD labs, but she knew that they would never sacrifice her on the field for something like that. She rubbed her temple as she pushed aside the notes from her upcoming mission. Feeling as if she was going to throw up if she tried to analyze them anymore. She grabbed her phone, checking the time and seeing that it was later than she expected. Regardless, she still sent the text in case Natasha was awake.

 ❜  of course i do, i’m great at one handed dogdeball,  ❜  claire said smiling slightly. her arm hurt and she hated the hospital with it’s overly clean smells and it’s bright white unfeeling lights. but a dogeball contest would help her with all those; keep her mind from going to the purple cast and the ache in her side.               ❜ but if you’re scared of trying to beat me in it, we can just play catch or roll it back and forth      easy things.  ❜  she teased.
