Was looking for a post that said what I was thinking but no such luck so here I am.

Bucktommy break-up: as a writing decision and as a character decision

As a writing decision: it makes perfect sense. Buck's life's been smooth-ish since he got with Tommy and shaking it up by giving him break-up angst and maybe a few ill-advised one night stands again is no bad thing. If you're a buddie truther then you can see this as him spiralling before falling back on Eddie. If you're me then it's just the writers trying to insert some more drama after wrapping up most of the other subplots this season.

As a character decision: Tommy did the deciding here. Was it in character? I think so. We don't know how many serious relationships he's had since Abby but that was at least 5 years ago for him so it's likely he's had a couple. I reckon he's got some baggage. He's clearly trying to protect himself, and Buck actively making a move to further their relationship which has freaked him out into backpedaling way too far. We don't know anything about Tommy's support system, or if he even has one. Is someone gonna give him some good advice, or is he gonna spiral off the back of this? I understand why he made the decision but equally I'm not sure it's entirely justified in character just because there were absolutely no warning signs. It still works, because sometimes there aren't any, so I buy it pretty well.

Buck going to Eddie's after? He's his best friend and honestly the show could do with reinforcing their relationship a bit. I do not think Buddie canon is gonna happen anytime soon if at all, but I do think they need to bring back Buck and Eddie being close friends the way they were doing seasons 2/3/4/5 and bring Chris back into it as well. We better find out that Buck and Chris have been calling this whole time because the other option is they're just drifting apart as Chris gets older, which is entirely plausible but I don't like it so no.

And Chris still not being in this season? I think probably twofold: some angst/not being able to resolve the Kim thing any other way, and a practical decision because the actor's busy with life. He's 18 now I reckon he's just got shit to do. That doesn't seem to be what they're saying in interviews, but honestly I'm not sure they let the Eddie angst hit a low enough point to justify the decision to leave Chris out. He's had his little comeback arc (rip the moustache u will be missed) but I think he could've done with more of a focus on his struggle in the episodes. Hopefully now we get a healing thing where he's determined to better himself to be a better dad for Chris, and he'll work more at reconnecting. And spend time with Buck and help him out and not leave him wayside in all this. Helping Buck could bring Chris and Eddie closer again? Because they both care. I've hit the rambling point of the post where I've said everything I meant to and am just going on a bit.

Where will it go from here: I don't think this is the last we'll see of Tommy this season. I reckon They'll either get back together or part more amicably than that. Maybe not, but honestly Tommy's pretty popular and I think him and Evan worked and it's be a shame to dump him now. I think (hope) we'll get some more buddie friendship scenes over the next couple episodes, and I think we'll get Eddie talking to Tommy. Baseline thoughts but that's where I'm coming from. I do not think we will get canon buddie because I am familiar with this song and dance and also pretty much believe them when Eddie says 'oh sorry im straight' because that checks out to me.

What made you ship it?

Um. Blinks at you. Points at you. Ssdbghsbfkbsbhbs at first I didn't ship it at all bc I was so very into Oakworthy and whatever Scary/Erica/Margarita have going on in my brain, respectively, but your insistence paid off and also multishipping is beautiful forever <333 And then this all happened to coincide with certain events in canon and I was like. Okay yeah. Yeah I get it now.

What are your favorite things about the ship?

Speaking of canon events! I really, really, really like how these two have grown to foil and parallel each other in SO many interesting ways. Which personally adds more fuel to the shipping fire for me! Very two-sides-of-the-same-coin meets opposites-attract imo. Like I said with Cheerkicks, they both have a lot more in common than I think they're really aware of, if that makes sense!

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

I don't think so! I just think they should kiss. I also really enjoy them as being part of a polywagon situation or as Marloakworthy <333

What made you ship it?

This feels like too easy of an answer, but Sophomore Year! I remember scrolling through Fantasy High fics on ao3 after finishing Freshman Year and being like ??? Oh there's someone related to Aguefort??? And they're popularly shipped with Fig, of all people??? Huh. Guess it must be a SY thing. Smash cut to me giggling and kicking my feet upon getting introduced to Ayda and being absolutely overjoyed bc the only thing I could think about was "oh this ship is going to be so cute isn't it I'm going to be feeling like this abt them constantly???" And I was right!!!

What are your favorite things about the ship?

Truly just the. Unlikeliness of it all. Cloistered wizard pirate harpy lady falling hard for the rock n roll wild child tiefling bard with a heart of gold,,, and then said bard being such a bisexual mess about her own feelings in response. The panicked "I kiss her and then I skateboard away!!!" lives Rent Fucking Free in my brain at all times. Also Emily and Brennan portray their relationship so beautifully??? Like truly they had me tearing up at multiple points. I think Fig and Ayda both work very hard to understand each other and communicate properly and that earnest aspect of it combined with all the giddy fluffy high school romance stuff is like kryptonite to me. Congrats you two that's almost the best anyone has ever done it!!!

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

Honestly??? I don't think I've poked around in the d20/Fantasy High fandoms enough to know what is and isn't a popular opinion about them. So I'm gonna echo what I said for Normscary: I just want them to kiss!!! And cuddle. And be cute. Forever <333

it's time to ramble lolololol

So there's a post rn on twatter about Muscle Man, it's basically along the lines of "This guy had one joke the entire show and it never got old, that's fucking insane." My theory; I got a few bits of thoughts here, probably obvious shit if you're super into RS but whatever lol, ima say it anyway cuz my page bitches uwu. -Part of why i think the joke never got old is because he's fucking telling it wrong in the first place. Whenever you watch RS for the first time, you probably would be expecting "your mom" but no, it's always "my mom". It's him basically telling the joke wrong the entire goddamn time, he never does a "your mom", nah, fuck that lol, "MY MOM!!!" -There's bits where they subvert even that right? Ima bring the episode, literally called, "My Mom" To the stand. Like there's this part where the joke is less so the 'my mom' bit and much moreso, Mordecai and Rigby getting pissed and trying to be serious and Muscle Man just shits all over it fdhjfdjhfdhjfdhjfd Like that's so goddamn good bruh...

I can't find a clip of it but there's another bit in the ep that basically plays out like- MM: You know who taught High Fives how to hotwire the cart so he could slack off without getting in trouble with his boss? (pause) MM:(cont) My uncle John, he's a mechanic. You know who taught him?? MY MOM!!!! --- Again, bit of subversion lol, you don't get the 'my mom' instantly, there's build up to it. You expect one thing but get another before you get the expected thing, there's a build up lol.

^^^And there's also THIS in the episode...Where Mordecai and Rigby get so goddamn tired of the joke being told wrong, they actively tell actual 'your mom' jokes and it fucking PISSES MUSCLE MAN ABSOLUTELY THE FUCK OFF...He thinks they're making fun of his mom despite the my mom jokes...Obviously being him potentially making fun of his own mom. So yeah, this is the bit in the ep where the "irregular" part of Regular Show comes in cuz yeah So im not gonna spoil that bit. Go watch if you haven't, this eps fuckin hilarious. My basic point is RS; -Is telling a wrong version of the joke and making it their own joke. and -They subvert it at points, multiple points in the show. Another great subversion from the Ep 'Don'.

Again, a goated moment. Benson is being insanely serious, this is Muscle Man's goddamn boss so the last person you'd wanna piss off. But MM is like "lol, fuck it, this'll be funny." And goddamn does it anyway, LITERALLY AFTER BEING TOLD NO.

In conclusion, i fucking love RS, i think it's writing is really goddamn good in general and i'm probably being Obvious Andy over here, but idc lol, i wanted to ramble. Also-While i am at it; Muscle Man and Starla are amazing as a ship, argue with the wall lol. Besides Rigleen, best ship in the show. I am correct fdjhkfdkhjfdhfjd.

adachis side was perfectly analyzed in that meta i rbed earlier so i have nothing substantial to add but god for the 58302th time his Growth ..... even in ep 12 he had to get that push from tsuge to go meet w kurosawa but in the movie he could already tell kurosawa was putting up a front (and literally predicted it would happen as soon as he got the transfer offer) and he probs planned on talking abt it when he flied back to tokyo before the incident which is. ... .. and the look of determination on his face the entire time kurosawa finally broke down w no panic no overthinking like "I Am Going To Love And Cherish This Man So Hard" and comforting kurosawa w touch and no longer caring abt the magic that hes become reliant on for kurosawas sake. . Yeah im going to be ill about these two for the rest of my life thank u cm crew god bles <3

Conjuring the Magic of Youth, bloody white Opens Up About the“first time” [Premiere + Q&A]

As we grow older, the memories of our youth begin to fade and with it, our recollection of what it was like to experience the peaks and valleys of life for the first time. Yet through music, we can relive those experiences and re-remember the exact feelings associated with most formative moments of our youth.

For 20-year-old, artist, songwriter, producer and mixing & mastering engineer bloody white, the trials and tribulations of youth are sitting at his doorstop, much of which are still packaged by the unknown. The Santa Barbara-based wunderkind began tinkering with beats at age 11, moving on to write fully crafted songs in his teens. Self-taught in his childhood bedroom, bloody is a rarity in the music industry, as he not only writes and performs his music, but produces, mixes and masters his work as well.

Cutting through the noise with break out single “tongue tied” earlier this year, bloody’s unique blend of anti-pop, punk, electronic and lo-fi hip hop allows for an active listening experience, one that is both intriguing and magically captivating. Fresh on the horizon with new music just around the corner, bloody releases the next single “first time” off his debut EP you’d walk right over me, due Sept. 9. 

A song chronicling his first intimate experience with a girl he truly loved, bloody outlines the profound impact the encounter made on him musing, "First time, / I could hardly move / It’s like the first time / And I don’t know what to do / And you just pause time, And you lose yourself inside my breath.”  

Sonically he plays with an amalgamation of sounds and the juxtaposition of heavy and light percussion, mirroring the vulnerable yet explosive sentiment attached to his experience. Highly emotive in his vocal performance, bloody reminds us all of what it’s like to express love for the first time. Accompanied by home-video stylized video, edited by Jay Seba, bloody creates a distinct feeling of nostalgia, featuring moments captured from his everyday life during this very unique period in his life.  

We had the chance to catch up with bloody white on a range of subjects from his first experiences with music to the grappling with mental health, a subject that has become the crux of his upcoming debut. Read on below…

Ones to Watch: Where does your story with music begin?

bloody white: I’ve been listening to music since before I can remember, just hearing whatever my parents put on. But I really started to get into music when I got my first laptop and pirated as much Coldplay, Deadmau5, and Daft Punk as my hard drive could hold. I got really into EDM when Dubstep became a meme back in 2011-2012 and that set me on a path to learning production.  But it wasn’t until later that I began to write lyrics and sing over my instrumentals.

Where do you see that story ending?

I really don’t think it’ll ever end.  Even if in the future i’m not making as much music, I’ll always be a fan of other artists.  

What is your favorite and least favorite part of the solo creation process?  

My favorite part would have to be building the instrumental from the ground up.  To me, nothing really comes close to getting lost in the creation of an instrumental. My least favorite part is definitely mixing/mastering.  It just isn’t as creatively fulfilling as the earlier stages of the song creation, but maybe i just need to learn to be more patient.

You can only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what is it?

That’s a really good question. If i absolutely had to pick, it’d be ‘The Definition’ by Jon Bellion

What was the inspiration behind your newest single “first time”?  

The inspiration came from me reflecting on the first time I had sex with a girl that i was in love with, and how drastically different it felt from any other personal experience up to that point.  I’ve had a lot of firsts in my life so far, but that one was unlike anything else.

Tell us about the making of the song’s home-made visual companion and what the significance of going the home-video style was for you?  

The process was pretty laid back: just bringing a camera with me whenever I went out for a couple months and capturing as much of myself and my friends as I could before it got annoying.  As far as the home-video style, I just really like how tape camera footage looks aesthetically and of course there’s also a comforting nostalgic element to it as well. 

Your debut EP ‘you’d walk right over me‘ covers such subjects as suicidal thoughts and addiction. Can you tell us about your personal experience with mental health?    

Yeah, I mean I’ve struggled with bouts of pretty severe OCD since I was a kid and was never really sure what was causing them. And by the time I got into high school I was totally consumed with obsessive thoughts and strange compulsions, which made everyday life quite tedious and difficult.  I would have panic attacks multiple times a day and have trouble focusing on anything but my thoughts.  My four years in high school were pretty rough because of that, but having been through all of that, I was slowly able to start recognizing useless thought patterns and dig myself out of the hole I was in. So, thankfully i’m in a much much better place than i was several years ago.

Can you tell us about a time of significant pain in your life that transformed into strength?  

I think all of high school was pretty difficult due to my mental illness and self destructive behaviors, but if i hadn’t gone through any of that I don’t think I’d be able to understand myself or relate to people the way i do now.

If you could give the younger you one piece of advice, what would that be?

Don’t be a dick to yourself.

Who are your Ones to Watch?  

There’s this dude I found on Soundcloud that goes by JKuch who’s been putting out some really innovative stuff.  I don’t know what genre he’d fit in to but that’s probably part of why I like him so much.  Great voice, insane production and overall just makes killer tracks. And if you’re just looking for some grimy beats there’s this guy that goes by Yojas. on soundcloud.  Dude makes some of the craziest hip hop/trap beats I’ve ever heard. Highly recommend.

Dead Man’s Land Ep. 1

Over-All Warnings: Swearing, Death, Gore, a lot of triggering topics and Illnesses Mentioned.

“Honestly. There is an issue on the South and North Side,” The Queen of Death herself glares at the young boy in front of her. “Meaning they are trying to get into our territory.”

“OUR TERRITORY. Tokoyami, what are you are Tamaki doing about this issue?” The Queen turned her head towards the two bird-like boys. 

“Right away your Majesty!” The Queen Smirked. Before standing from her throne, making those in the room stand.

“Now, it is time for me to be a civilian for a while~ I hope I can trust the Prince of Fire to watch you all?” A rumble gave it’s agreement. The Queen kissed the Red Dragon which turned into its human form. 

Esther kicked the rock that was in her path as she hummed to a song that blasted into her ears. Unknown to her, a multiple pairs of eyes stare at her, or more glare, across the street. 

All of a sudden, she felt a tap to her shoulder, making her turn around. A tall boy with black shades and a black suit stood in front of her. He had black hair and a chill worthy smile yet Esther was no normal female. She didn’t shiver nor squeak as any normal person would when they saw the symbol of the South Side, which was a Bomb Pin on their jacket or tie. Somewhere it could be seen.

“Yes?” Esther said as she tilted her head with innocence of a bunny. “Is something wrong?”

“You are in the Bomb Squad Territory. What Gang are you in? Or are you a normal girly?” The mysterious figure got into her face, trying to scare her, Esther guessed. 

“I thought this was No Man’s Land? Or Dead Man’s Land. I don’t remember! I’m a little new to town!” Esther smiled and giggled. 

“Oh well! Can you tell me where you are going?” Esther nodded and grabbed her bag and brought her phone out. 

“Um. I really don’t want to go with a stranger so can I have your name?” Esther asked while looking at her feet. A faint blush was placed on her face.

“My name is Sero Hanta. I’m from the Bomb Squad!” Esther giggled as his brain went on a frenzie. 

“I’m Osore Esther! I’m from...” Esther trailed off. “It’s stupid.” 

Sero tilted his head this time. “What is?”

“I’m a Puppet yet the Queen doesn’t trust me with anything. I might leave her gang but how can I when my quirk isn’t cool. She will kill me if I even think about it!” Esther started rambling but was cut short by a hand on her shoulder. Esther’s frantic blue eyes met the glasses. 

“Hey. If you are that worried, how about you try to join another gang before leaving hers?” Sero pondered.

“I could but what gang would want me?” Esther waved it off. “Anyways, I need to go to Nyx Nightclub.”

“Oh! Why are you going there?” Esther scratched the back of her neck. “Nevermind! I need to go there anyways! King Explode Kills is having a meeting with all the gang leaders which means him, Deku, Shoto, and Queen Death-” 

Esther smiled sadly. “Why is Shoto going? Isn’t he part of Deku’s gang?” 

“Well, every gang leader is bringing backup. Bakugou is bringing his most prized members, even though he won’t admit it. So, me, Red Riot, Chargebolt, and Alien Queen are going as back up. I don’t know if Queen Death is taking anyone with her-”

“Her dragons...” Esther mumbled.

“Dragons?!” By now, the two were already walking towards the nightclub. 

“Yes. She has four dragons. One being a red one with black spikes, another being pure white with purple as it’s secondary color. The Third one is black with purple as it’s undertone. The fourth one is unknown as it is her favorite,” Sero’s eyes looked like he was just told that the Earth was a peaceful place. 

“How about her quirk?” Sero asked.

Esther swallowed. “No one knows if she has more but the most known is called Death Puppeteer. She could kill someone by glancing at them. All she needs is their name and face. She can rearrange how someone would die so they could either die quicker or slower. She can also know how someone will die. As well as knowing their death, she can also know how their life plays out. But she can’t know if she is in it,” Esther looked at Sero before looking at the Building. “This is where I leave you. Thank you for walking me here!”

“Be careful!” Sero yelled as she left to the back of the building.

“What took you so long?!” Bakugou screamed at Sero. “I thought you said you would deal with the issue and then come back right away?! Why can’t you listen to a-”

“I found out more about Queen Death,” Sero said making Bakugou shut up. Bakugou made a motion which meant ‘spit it out’. “Queen Death has four dragons. Her quirk is called Death Puppeteer. Meaning, she can make your death quicker or slower just by knowing your face and name.”

“That doesn’t help us!” Kaminari, or Chargebolt, said. “Just that we should not tel... Her our full names! Boss, this is perfect!”

Bakugou growled before walking into the club fully. He saw a person with a Puppet tattoo. While Bakugou’s gang had pins and Midoriya’s had bracelet or necklaces, Queen Death had her Puppets get tattoos that had a certain symbol. No one knows what each mean. 

Bakugou saw another worker had the Deku Gang Bracelet. He looked around until he saw his pin. He walked over to the unexpecting worker. “Where should I be right now you damn Extra?!”

The scared worker pointed to a door that said ‘meeting is in progress’. Bakugou stomped over and slammed open the door. Meeting eye to eye with the insane boss of Quirkless, Deku. 

“Nice to see you join us Kacchan. Queen Death had a messenger say that she would come in a second,” Bakugou growled before sitting in a seat that was on the other side of Midoriya’s.

They all sat in silence while both leaders glare at each other. Well, Bakugou glared while Midoriya smirked with insanity in his eyes. Their higher up members looked between the two. In the room currently was Chargebolt, Red Riot, Alien Queen, and on Midoriya’s side was Shouto, Uravity, and Ingenium. 

The staring battle stopped when a different door opened. Out came a women with pitch black hair and black eyes. Her skin was pale. Behind her was four ‘dragons’. They were glowing and small yet still floated in the air like chinese dragons. One was a deep red, another white, another black, and the last one was blue. 

“Nice to see most of you are here,” The voice from the body said. The voice was smooth and made the table listen to her. “I’m Queen Death and I’m a little angry with the current report I got from my spies.”

“What do you?!-” Bakugou was hushed by a hand. One would think someone put their hand on his mouth to make him shut up but the Queen was raising her hand making no sound come out of his mouth. 

“Have you heard of Glossophobia? Fear of Public Speaking. Luckily, we are speaking very publicly so my quirk can work,” A smirk landed on the girl’s face. “Now anyone else want to interrupt me??”

The Queen clapped her hands together and smiled a sweet yet very creepy smile. “Great! Now let’s talk about you coming in my territory! If you have any brain, I’m the Queen of Death or Death Puppeteer. Heroes are scared of me and I was claimed the strongest out of all of you. Since I have two very powerful quirks, I will skip to the good bit!”

The Queen snapped her right hand fingers together. Door to her right opened and a table on wheels came rolling in, being pushed by two people in Puppet cloaks. 

Pausing it here for a second. Puppet cloaks are cloaks that lower Puppets wear. Puppets are known to be emotionless and only listen to her majesty (Queen of Death), others are not so emotionless. If a puppet is emotionless to a point where they think their life is pointless without their Queen, they will wear cloaks. Meaning, they will hurt you if you hurt their queen of if their queen asks of it. 

“On this table is an event I will be hosting. If you can steal my heart by then, I will let you have my territory as well as merging it with No Man’s Land. How does that sound?” The Queen flicked her hand, letting her Blue Dragon mistic thing, follow her Puppets out. 

Shouto raised his hand. “How do we know it would be you and why must we do it?”

“Nice work Shouto! By the way, your brother as well as father are lovely puppets,” Shouto blinked as he tried to register what she said but didn’t have time as she was already answering the question. “My Land has many resources! To sweeten the deal, I will let you lead my Puppets by my side. For the other question, you don’t! Of course, I do not have black hair and black eyes. This is all thanks to my other quirk, Fear! ~Mod Dia Here~ See I said I would post the first part! I’ll get Mod Bambi to do his story, which is Mafia and slightly similar yet is different as Deku isn’t insane in Mafia and Shouto is in his own Gang and there is a different concept. This one is based on a beat. The Queen has challenged all gang leaders as well as their members, to try to win her heart by the time of her event. It doesn’t say in this chapter but, spoiler alert, the event is a masquerade party anyways. The real challenger for these boys is knowing who she is. Her appearance is different as she says. She is using her Fear Raiser Quirk to make her look different. I won’t look up the official name right now but when you have the fear of yourself or mirrors.
