Who kills/takes out the spiders : cass without a doubt saves lance from spiders constantly -- although at first she did tease him with them n dangle them by the lil web n pretend to chase him with nonexistent spiders but... ykno it’s mostly just her saving him from spiders n putting them outside

i literally can't stop writing them, here's some fluff to fill my jalim quota of the day.

Summary: Salim falls asleep on Jason while watching a movie and because he's a good friend, Jason lets him. So what if he likes it a little more than he should.

Jason X Salim: Lazy Saturday

Jason didn't mean to stare.

But it was kind of hard not to, seeing as Salim had fallen asleep not even half an hour into the movie they’d agreed to watch together.

The Iraqi was relaxed against the couch, his head tilted over the backrest at an unnatural angle. The uncomfortable position didn’t seem to bother Salim, if the soft snoring filling the room was anything to go by.

Even while he’d been left alone to watch the movie—a shitty old western, just to take their minds off anything related to the war or horrors they’d faced—Jason’s lips quirked up into a knowing smirk. The first thing he’d noticed when meeting up with Salim today was that his friend looked exhausted. Salim had worked a full week at some construction gig but still made an effort to appear unbothered by it all, protesting loudly when Jason suggested he come back another day.

"It's just a movie," Salim had said. "I think I can manage that—even with the nonsensical American plot."

Well, evidently, he couldn't. It was kind of funny, Salim holding his own against a fuckload of vamps, only to be knocked out by a cheesy old cowboy flick.

Jason kept looking at Salim, taking in his relaxed features as he slept. Now Salim was a good-looking dude—Jason wasn't blind—but contorted into this weird sleeping position, he looked downright goofy.

Salim's eyelids twitched ever so slightly while he dreamed, his long lashes resting across the dark circles under his eyes. His round jaw was slack with sleep and giving him a ridiculous double chin. Soft-looking, perpetually smiling lips that Jason may or may not have caught himself sneaking glances at in the last few weeks hung open to let out quiet snores. The sight of his sleeping friend was a far cry from the normally composed and irritatingly witty man Jason had gotten used to.

It still made that same, dumb warmth blossom in Jason’s chest.

On instinct, he shuffled closer, leaning down to inspect the still healing scars on Salim’s face. Some were older, probably from dirt and shrapnel of the war, but a few were fresh. Among them was a claw mark from an ancient monster that Salim had suffered while protecting Jason.

Before he knew what was happening, Jason’s fingers were hovering over the scar on Salim’s face. He barely had time to collect himself and yank his hand away before it made contact with Salim’s skin. Jason mentally cursed himself for getting carried away; creeping on his friend while he slept was one thing, but he would not be caught petting Salim like he was a goddamned puppy.

The sudden movement made Salim stir, and the marine held his breath and sat very, very still while he waited to see if he’d wake up.

Salim’s brow furrowed and he made a sleepy noise of protest. He shifted his weight but his eyes remained closed, and when he relaxed again and continued his sleep, Jason breathed out a sigh of relief.

Until Salim’s head slid off the backrest and the man collapsed to rest against Jason’s shoulder.

Jason sat rigid with his sleeping friend’s body now pressed against his. Miraculously Salim didn’t seem to wake from the change in position, but rather kept peacefully napping on his former enemy’s shoulder.

Salim was warm and solid against him, and Jason swallowed audibly while he tried to decide on his best course of action. On one hand, he was perfectly accustomed to physical contact from years in the Marine Corps; some missions he’d been forced to practically sleep on top of his squadmates.

But this was different. Even though he’d slowly learned more about local customs in the last few weeks, he’d become very aware of the physical space between him and Salim. While his friend seemed to welcome friendly nudges and pats on the back, Jason had to consciously dial back on the physical contact he was used to among US soldiers.

But now Salim was cuddling up against Jason’s side while he slept, blissfully unaware of the situation. It felt like the wall that had been between them was smashed to pieces, and Jason could only hope that it would remain that way even when Salim woke up.

Speaking of, should Jason wake him? Salim looked like he needed sleep and Jason sure as hell didn’t mind the closeness—if he was honest with himself, it actually felt really fucking nice. He could just watch the movie while Salim napped, pretending that they were something more than friends instead of the exhausted Iraqi merely using him as a pillow.

So that’s what Jason did; turn back to face the TV screen as best he could, careful not to rouse Salim, and continued to watch the shitty western.

It should have been alarming how quickly Jason got used to having Salim’s weight against his and feeling the even breath against his neck. It was weirdly calming, and Jason was sure that if he hadn’t had three cups of coffee this morning he would’ve dozed off right alongside Salim. As it stood now, he simply accepted his fate and let his friend get some rest.

When the movie was starting to draw to a close and numerous exaggerated explosions sounded from the TV, Salim finally stirred.

Jason tried not to panic, keeping his eyes firmly glued on the screen while Salim raised his head from Jason’s now partially numb shoulder.

“Mornin’,” Jason said. He tried to keep his tone casual, but his voice sounded just as stiff as his tense body felt.

“I seem to have fallen asleep on you,” Salim stated.

Hearing the amusement in his friend’s voice, Jason couldn’t help the smile tugging on his lips.

“That you did,” Jason agreed

“I apologize, I’ve always been somewhat of a sleep cuddler,” Salim explained. “Although I suppose this explains the lack of nightmares.”

“Huh?” Jason asked, turning to face the man. “How come?”

They hadn’t talked much about the nightmares. Jason only knew that they both had them, and that they predictably featured dark tunnels, monstrous screeching and the creatures that had killed plenty of their friends.

But based on the sleepy smile on Salim’s face, this wasn’t going to be a heart-to-heart about that particular piece of trauma. Salim’s grin was lazy and sly, letting Jason know he’d walked right into a trap.

“No vampire would dare approach me with such a strong, angry marine guarding my sleep,” Salim said.

Jason huffed out a laugh and dragged a hand down his face; damn this guy and his ridiculous comments. At least he wasn’t mad at Jason over the awkward situation.

“Not even thirty seconds awake and you’re already pullin’ lines like that,” Jason said. He tried his best to seem exasperated, but with the smile refusing to leave his face he wasn’t sure how convincing he looked. “You got any more in store for me?”

“Perhaps,” Salim said, looking up to meet his eyes. “Do you know that you have a beautiful smile?”

“What the—” Jason sputtered and nearly choked on his spit. “You can’t just say shit like that.”

“Why not? It’s true,” Salim said, not seeming the least bit bothered.

Fuck! Fuck this stupid fucking man and his stupid fucking sleepy flirting that Jason was wholly unprepared for. He could already feel the heat creeping up his neck, his usual bravado faltering just from a simple compliment.

“You don’t just call another dude ‘beautiful’,” Jason protested. “I’m not some chick.”

“There is just as much beauty in masculinity as femininity,” Salim said, way too eloquent for someone who’d been snore-drooling on Jason’s shoulder two minutes ago. “But I’m sorry if I offended you.”

Jason chewed on the inside of his cheek and pointedly looked anywhere but at Salim. After his little session of creeping on the man earlier, Jason was very aware of the fact that dudes could be pretty, too. And Salim was a prime example of that, with his high cheekbones, long lashes, and those deep brown eyes full of wisdom way beyond Jason’s understanding.

Jason just never thought the same could be said about him.

“You’re fine,” Jason said. “...Thanks.”

When Salim only chuckled happily, Jason pulled his collar up to hide the reddening of his cheeks and stared way too intently at the TV screen to avoid looking at his stupidly pretty friend.

“Now watch the rest of the movie with me,” Jason muttered. “And try not to fall asleep this time, jackass.”

“Whatever you say,” Salim seemed to agree easily enough. “...My strong, beautiful marine.”

“Okay, listen here you little shit—”

Embarrassed American cursing and Salim’s victorious laughter filled the living room and carried over the sounds of the TV, the rest of the movie all but forgotten while Jason feebly tried to keep up with the sudden flirty streak that had come out of Salim’s nap.

Maybe he should get Salim to sleep on him more often.

so, after a long time the final movie released, how about a quick analysis about okikagu last shots interactions? let's go.

this was the first scene in the movie they appeared together in a frame, they didn't had much scenes of course, the movie was more focused on yorozuya and the final lessons with shoyo students and etc. but even though, our two beloved birds had a bit of the big cake. the movie was focused on the others but they had to have final interactions and the movie made that to prove >they< okikagu, are also one of the biggest developed relationships on the anime, that is impossible they keep at the same place and don't importunate each other, and always gonna be like that, even at the end.

this first scene was like "ooh, so you're here too Chihuahua? how you doing dumbass?" kagura's said a "oh hoo, so you finally admitted that yorozuya is stronger than you guys, yes?" I meant, she maybe tried to tease him saying that she's also stronger than him, as ever, sougo wasn't different, he answered her teasing back "what are you saying? if we're supposed to make a mess, is even much fun messing with idiots around." or saying, he was just maybe indirectly offending her too.

the thing that I love on them the most, they don't have cute interactions explicit, but even like this, I still ship them the way they are, I could translate this scene like "hi you dumbass idiot, are u still falling for me as ever?" and then "what do you meant with that? this question mean that you are also falling for me and want me to correspond you? idiot."

after all the movie battle scenes, we get at the end and the last scenes, where we also got THIS: the whole buffet we need to talk about.

I mean, when I saw the spoilers of this scene, my mind exploded, I freaked out because I wasn't expecting any much scene of them together, and then we received this, kagura just leaning her arm on sougo's shoulder. WHAT THE HELL. I said. THERE'S NO WAY THIS IS REAL.

with this scene I can say that, sorachi didn't made okikagu canon, but I think he wanted also to send the message that they ended the history as no more just the kids that used to hate and fight everytime like brats, but they ended as something more close, after all the battles the fought aside each other, learning to be comrades, to protect each other's back when in real danger, they are like rivals with respect, or rivals with intimacy enough to kagura have the freedom just to leaning her arm on her rival. the old brats okikagu never would even greet each other with hands, now you see this arm on shoulder thing? I call this glow up relationship.

just look at how EVERYBODY is standing on their own, but the two love birds have to be close with each other in touch. and also, kagura leaned her arm and sougo at first didn't even realized or minded. like was something normal and natural. like sometimes my girlfriend like to do that.

and then he went like, "okay enough, you can't have this much of taste without reciprocate" HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA I LOVE THEEEEMMM!!! THATS MY COUPLE!!!! RIVALS TO LOVERS EXCELLENCE!!!!!!

conclusion

in the end, we didn't get the canon we wanted cause sorachi didn't wanted to canonize any couples at the history. but I think it's okay and I'm satisfied. after those final interactions, I believe and can imagine okikagu will no longer be just rivals forever. my bet is that they would eventually get closer and closer with each other and in time they would took a little more to develop ou realize their deep connection and feelings, and let me dream MORE, I did read i lot of fanfictions so for me they could even get married one day and have Souchirou, the headcanon okikagu child the fandom just created.

anyways, I love gintama is the my favorite anime ever, I'm super sad that ended and I will never see okikagu kicking each other anymore, but I love this whole anime sorachi maded and also my favorite rivals to lovers shipp. I hope you guys liked my analysis and lemme hear your opinions about okikagu at the end and what do you think they are now. thank u !!! <3

      HAVING TO HIDE STILL GRATES ON HER NERVES -- she doesn’t think they should have to  (  she’s  well aware of why they must  )  -- though the princess never gets tired of surprise kisses in forgotten, quiet hallways between footsteps bound for the next royal duty of the day. 

       it catches her off guard today -- a quick, alarmed exhale leaving before red lips are captured by the guard’s so perfectly. widened eyes flutter closed, melting into her girlfriend’s arm wrapped around her waist. && the eventual parting is met with disappointment  (  oh, would that she could simply stay && be graced with her soft lips against hers, fingers so comfortably && purposefully placed against her body  )  -- quiet sigh illustrating that before exchanging for a soft smile held toward the other woman.

      ❝   meet me in the garden tonight ? i won’t be late tonight -- some things got pushed back, so i’ll have extra free time for once. i just...i want to spend it with you.   ❞

       words are sealed with her own returned kiss -- quick, gentle but passionate as her lips press to hers, wanting anything but to break away from her again. unfortunately -- yet again -- duty calls && the life of a princess is a constantly busy one  (  a fact she never really regretted until she’d met elsa  ).
