I'm not even gonna post this one into DDDA's main tags, since it's a very silly, very indulgent thing, that only people who've played V3 might appreciate; not everything here is outright funny, AND I coudn't help myself with cheesy editing, like adding sprites here and there (the voice acting just begged for this imo), so there's that, too. :P

But honestly though, Ouma was such a joy to have around XD. I wasn't counting on accuracy when it comes to reflecting his character, even with the few personality-tweaking options that the game provides, but to my surprise... many times it wasn't so bad! And definitely was very fun - he was such a fierce, dramatic, snarky little menace... as he should be. <3

He also had a strange vendetta against carts, dunno why tbh, definitely did not learn it from Gonta. He'd ignore boxes and crates for the most part, destroyed barrels only when I desperately needed one (granted, 8 out 10 times I used them to perform barrel glitch, so fair, I guess, but he did made me stuck inside a Dusk Moon Tower's chest room with no liftstones to teleport myself out of it, leaving reloading my save as the only option...it's like he KNEW)... but carts? None shall remain.

Okay but what do you think about each of 'main seven' SoTE NPCs? (Leda, Freyja, Hornsent, Ansbach, Moore, Thiollier and Dane)? Which one is your favourite?

I'm glad you ask! But again I can't have ONE FAVORITE I'm bad at choosing one above all. ALL THE TIME!!!! 😂

Ok anyway I think each of those characters are very well done! Both individually and as a group!

They are all unique and quite interesting and I love their designs! And it is just so rare to have a big group like that of 7 SEVEN WHOLE PEOPLE who clearly have connections and interactions in a fromsoftware title like Hello?!?! (not just implied or in the lore).

Usually we have just a couple of like 2-3 characters per quest who really interact with each others. (and not just acknowledge/know the persons. Like Gideon & co or Sellen/Jerren quest or even Eileen/Henryk/Bloody Crow quest. It's usually a very limited number of npc per quests. Even for Ranni's quest there's not that much characters. As for Oedon Chapel all the characters don't really interact for each other besides Arianna/Adella and it's not positive XD

I found amazing they finally made a group of npcs we can really picture and see for our own eye!

Even if it's just in a cinematic of all of them together once lol or a battle to death. Just look at this...

I mean, in Bloodborne, many people do agree that, for exemple many important lore characters actually knew each others or even were hunters together at the same time (because it's up to interpretations, simpler and really fun & create cool& crazy stories!) but we can never be fully sure. For exemple did Laurence, Micolash, Rom, Caryll actually went at Byrgenwerth around the same time? If not years/decades apart? Same for old hunters like Maria, Ludwig, Izzy Gratia & co etc did they really hunt side by side and nit years apart?

On the contrary we are sure that Ornstein, Artorias, Ciaran & Gough fought together, same for Gwen & co but we don't really see it in game with our character.

I mean idk how to explain but it feel very impactful and unique to have all this unique characters work together/have links and made us the player, and our characters do quests with all of them! I'm glad Fromsoftaware did that at least!

And can we talk about this masterpiece of a fight and music?!!? they went so hard! omg it was incredible and so emotional! 10/10

Well first they are seven of them. Like the seven guardians of light of kingdom hearts and many other thing. Like the number of runes we got on the main bosses 👀

Since that artwork pop out I'm absolutely in love with the aesthetic ❤️ absolutely beautiful! Was very intrigued for sure. A dear a loyal follower of Miquella, what many people wanted to see or be! What an occasion. I appreciated her quickly for helping us!

But the more I advanced in the dlc the more I grew concerned, worried, scarred and even a bit terrified of her! I think no one expected it but she's capable of coldly doing the worst & killed past allies and that's terrifying. We know her sword literally have the blood of the past other needle knights too 😰 Still, I want to give a bit of nuance because it's up to interpretations but perhaps they did killed each others one by one and Leda just didn't kill her old squad all alone scary that things repeat itself... man must have been a big mess I really wonder what went down... probably a big tragedy too.

-Freyja : I really enjoyed her the antic/grec armor! That's so cool. It's so funny but when I met Freyja it went like this :

I think many had assumptions with just the trailer! 😂 Likewise for Thiollier, on first trailer impression I would have assume a woman.

I really like her link with other characters and her quest in the storehouse. Girl is really the strong friend that need help in maths XD also her backstory with Radahn & Miquella is very interesting

-Speaking of Thiollier, I really like the guy too! <3 poor baby just wanted a hug from Trina... same fr I pity him a bit during that but after he calm down I know he's a true homies that will stand with me! I'm very intrigued by his backstory too... fell sad.

-Moore : aww look at this little guy 🥺 who like to collect stuff. So much autistic vibe jckfbh. Anyway he deserved better 😭

-Dane: really mysterious and interesting character for sure. I beat him first or 2nd try I thinK? Not that hard but he don't have weapons and is very strong respect! I like that he leave us message/ stuff around waterfall too

-Hornsent : very intriguing too 🤔 Also I screw up his quest kinda 💀 forgot to help him against Leda before Messmer dcnfnvnjfv also his link with Grandam (scorpion stew etc) and potentially Romina are very interesting! Why Romina? Well when I couldn't beat the final boss I discovered bro invade us just before Romina somehow?! I have no idea how did I missed him ?! So yes he try to block the way to the tower but more directly Romina. And he's a hornsent. So idk maybe there's a connection ?😅

-Ansbach : ah the goat! Of course I like the grandpa with a scythe and a helmet like the cainhurst one! 😂 What can I say I really like this character, he's wise and very kind towards us and looks so cool! He help us a lot. he have crazy ass revelation too O_O the only thing I can reproach him is that he used to work for Mohg and when he was younger probably did some very wild if not awful thing... he really don't feel that now hm? Anyway really like him too!

What would you say is your top 5 favorites in Storm Hawks? (BUT you can't use Stork XD)

Aww man, you caught me on the last word :'D I thought for a long time, trying to remember all the characters I like besides Stork, but it was even more difficult to put them in their places, cause I love them all equally. So be it, I will answer! 1. Radarr.

Number one on my list is the sky lemur, a comic-relief sidekick and just a funny character whose antics are so much interesting to watch. He's just a cute little fella, so assure you, he can safely be trusted with a firearm. Have to admit, but the show would have be much boring without Radarr (and I think he has a lot more dynamic with Stork than with Aerrow). 2. Master Cyclonis.

The supreme ruler of a matriarchal empire in the person of a cynical teenage girl? Give me two! I also really like her design — especially impressive is the idea of a hood that resembles the petals of a devil's daisy. At least, never seen anything like this in any media before. Well, now let me share my subjective opinion. Let's be honest: just because she's a lonely girl with no friends doesn't absolve her of responsibility for deliberately ravaging the terras for the empire's expansion (has anyone ever wondered about Finn's or Piper's terras?) and entertaining her people with brutal gladiatorial battles. Even if she had undergone a thorough introspection and returned from the other side of Atmos with the entire squadron, it was unlikely that anyone would have forgiven her. Also don't like the fact that in the eyes of some fans (don't speaking for everyone!) she is no more than Draco in leather pants, whose essential flaws no one tried to notice :( I understand that my opinion may seem very controversial, and you have every right to disagree with it. However, I still hold the thought that «loving a character does not mean justifying their actions». 3. Repton.

A badass, strong, fearless leader of the criminal squadron, who does not back down before any challenges, no matter how serious they may be. Admired the fact that Repton, as one of the most competent servants of the Empire, is not afraid to contradict Cyclonis herself and always remains true to his beliefs. I always assumed he called Stork a salamander cause of his cowardice and dodgy nature. Even after the merb had destroyed his entire squadron, Repton continued to treat him with the utmost prejudice and did not consider Stork a serious opponent. Based on the lore, it is logical to assume that the Raptors were raised with the idea that they are the most dominant species in all of Atmos, and all others must serve them or be conquered. I just think that's one of the few reasons he harbors a general dislike for all existing races :D 4. Merbian postmaster from episode "Scouts Honor".

Oh yes, my favorite trope — «a character who appears in a two-minute scene, says just one phrase, and manages to win your heart in half a minute». I've always wondered what his background might have been, and what he might have done besides his work. It seems to me that he is less emotional and more resistant to any stress than Stork. However, he may experience some social awkwardness in communication, and it is easy to confuse him with a couple of personal questions. Therefore, he prefers to use short and clear phrases, which makes his speech more meaningful than it really is. I've already drawn him once, but it's quite possible that I'll do it again. 5. Griffin.

Had a dream where during Al Mualim's monolog before his and Altaïr's final battle Desmond fell out of the sky onto Al Mualim killing him on impact, the dream derailed from there but that might be the funniest introduction between Altaïr and Desmond like "sorry I popped out of nowhere a couple storeys up and stole your kill by falling on top of him"

My first reaction is “is this a meet cute scenario???” and… yeah, I think it is.

Altaïr loves to make dynamic entrances (just ask Robert and the twins Shahim and Shahar) so he’d probably be both confused but also impressed by Desmond’s entrance.

Until he realized that Desmond did not do it on purpose, he just literally dropped from the sky and shattered Al Mualim’s spine by accident.

Honestly, this sounds like this would end up being a bit cracky and would give us the following tropes with just ONE SCENE:

Meet Cute

Rescue Entrance that leads to Rescue Romance (Altaïr would insist that he had it under control. Desmond is like “Yeah, he did” and remembers that Altaïr was gonna get frozen by the Apple at one point but, sure, he had it under control)

Fall-In Angel (with Desmond doing his best to deny that no, he’s not an angel, but also wishing to make a ‘fallen angel’ pick up joke because he is not above that)

Kala & Ali: The fuck is going on there but it's lowkey scary?? somehow??? (it's the being in sync as people and being in sync as wardens and committing to the bit) During the blight/ before they were An Item: "maker they are so stupid"

Liam & Fenris: "if you go near them and get cavities don't say i didn't warn you" cit. Varric probably There are definitely whispers and rumours during Champion times but Liam does keep his love life close to his chest.

Lilian & Isabela: The common impression is that they aren't serious and/or the relationship is purely superficial. During Kirkwall times there are rumours that the Champion is trying o hide her affair with the alienage elf girl by being so publicly physical with Isabela.

Lilian & Merrill: They are not romantically involved but observers beg to differ, and the two of them don't argue with it because they're also not not partners, and they don't owe anyone an explanation. Early on Lilian is way more comfortable with "romantic" (i.e. what can be read as romantic) gestures towards Merrill since she, yknow, doesn't have romantic feelings for her. And people do love to gossip..

June & Cullen: Gonna get different impressions depending on who you ask; those who saw them early on probably thought it was a dumpster fire fuelled by pent up horny energy (they are not entirely wrong). People who see them later on assume they're your average romantic couple, and they've stopped trying to explain otherwise. There's def been more than one rumour about the spicy romance between the Inquisitor and her Commander.

Ari & Josie: A sight to behold for sure. Also scary as fuck, depending on who you are. If they display as a couple in public they absolutely do it On Purpose; most of the time, anyway. Makes it hard to discern if they are putting on a show, masking an affair, or genuinely an item; a goldmine for gossip, in any case

Also shout out to Var'Renan and Tamlen/ Var'renan and Morrigan who also are assumed to be a couple by outside observers a lot (they are not)

Liam/Fenris: i guess amicable exes applies in the og timeline?

1. Did you create your OC with a plan to ship them with a specific character or another OC? Or was their relationship something that evolved all by itself?

I tried planning such things a few times in the past, only to find out I'm too much of a "gardener" kind of storyteller to make it work XD And honestly, I admire people who have it all planned from the start and don't lose interest immediately... not to mention making an actual well-developed characters rather than just a Typical Dating Sim Protagonist with no personality - you guys are witches, really! As for me, I usually just let my characters interact with each other - or with canon characters - any way they want and watch things happen and evolve.

19. Do you have a sense of how your OCs relationship will evolve in the future? Or is it quite a fixed in terms of dynamics and story?

As I said above, planning is not mu strong point and all I can do is hope they *points at the Tinies' direction* keep building their happiness in their love lives any way they want. A lot depends on where the story takes them, though...

I can say that I've enjoyed greatly how their relationships have evolved so far <3

27. Is there a particular "trope" for relationships that you especially enjoy - e.g. enemies to lovers etc - and is this something that you set out intending to explore?

Battle couples! And badass wives going absolutely feral to protect their husbands! And badass husbands getting energy boosts from thinking of their wives XD And these moments when one character does something dorky and ridiculous, which makes the other character's heart skip a beat. Also dancing. A lot of dancing to please my inner 6-yo Dirty Dancing fangirl. Enemies to reluctant coworkers to lovers is fine as well >:D

I can tell you what I *don't* like - the trope that says "we have to love each other, because Destiny says so"! I resist and fight it with all my power, because I believe in choice >_>

@mortpee: if you could come up with a manga, what would it be abt ?

Hmm well i have an idea that i would love to make a comic abt, and it is strongly inspired by the mahou shoujo genre, so it counts hehe :3 it's about magical girls whose powers are based on forms of art! I think about a lot of things that bother me about this genre, missed opportunities, or limitations due to the fact that most of those series are for kids... But my main gripe is that, if you look at action shounen series, even if they're made for young teens, they're still interesting to watch for older ppl, but with mahou shoujo it's like you always have to keep in mind: this was made for kids, and so the conflicts (even tho they can be pretty mature) are aimed at kids, so can be pretty watered down or underdeveloped :"3 and you get SOOOOOO many cool shounen series that do very cool things with the tropes and expectations (mp100, one punch man, hxh), but in the mahou shoujo genre you get the sub-genre of "edgy magical girls" inspired by Madoka (and i don't personally think Madoka actually belongs to that genre, it's a deconstruction of the mahou shoujo genre, but it is still a pretty traditional mahou shoujo). Edgy magical girls rely on shock factor a lot of the time. Like, Magical Girl Site and Magical Girl Raising Project are literally just shounen series but with magical girls - it's not really the same. Funnily enough, Kill la Kill, which is literally a shounen series, leans into the mahou shoujo genre and borrows a lot from it, to the point where it feels more like mahou shoujo than the previous 2 i mentioned 🙃 So i would really really love if the mahou shoujo genre continued to evolve, be taken more seriously, more experimentation to be done within it, etc while still remaining a mahou shoujo genre, with magical transformations and friendship saving the world, and turning into a big god-like magical being and having the final battle in space :"D

So, after explaining my motivation, here are a couple of things i would do in my story:

- older characters. Magical girls in these series are usually aged between 13 and 17, and any more is like an older magical girl. The magical girls in my story would still be young, but i would set the minimal age of all characters to 18.

- a lot of magical girls! What i liked in Magia Record (the game, idc about the anime) was that there was a lot of them! It was established in the original madomagi that girls establish their territories on which they work (i think they did it in Raising Project as well), which implies there are a lot of magical girls. They did do too many in Magireco (they didn't ALL have to be in this one city xD), but i love the idea. With my idea, it would also mean i get to create a lot of unique characters based on different forms of art :D

- RULES!!! It isn't always explained in stories HOW people use magic. In Witch Hat Atelier, you draw your magic! In Tweeny Witches, you need parts of fairies, such as their hair or feathers! For my story, it would make sense that the girls can use any magic they can imagine. But with them doing different arts, they would naturally imagine things differently! "How to use magic?" "What is magic?" They would all have different answers to these questions. Maybe one music girl would use sound waves to deafen their enemy, but another one would play relaxing melodies to put a monster to sleep, a third one could heal their allies because they believe music has a healing effect.

- Worldbuilding! Why are magical girls a thing? What is their bigger purpose? Where did their cute mascots appear from? What are the monsters that keep appearing? How did nobody know about all this before?? How long has magic even been a thing??? I'm certainly borrowing from Madoka with these questions, and i plan to have a "FUCK. OUR LIVES ARE MEANINGLESS" moment in the end, but 1) nobody dies 2) ppl recover from this and find new hope 3) they defeat the evil and lose their magic as an exchange, but it's ok because their art and their friendships are the real magic 🥰🥰

- more diversity! I can't represent absolutely everyone of course, but i would want to have characters of different ethnicities and genders and sexualities at least. There isn't a rule that only girls can be magical, it's just that I'm going to focus on girls, but there will be magical boys and enbies too lol :D i have ideas for some disabled magical girls and trans magical girls and i just have sooo many ideas for designs and backstories in my head!!! (⁠☆⁠▽⁠☆⁠)

So yeah, hopefully i could get to that at some point.... ^_^; and i hope you liked reading my rambles :"D

Oh man. These two. These two. They're wonderful! They're such a perfect tragedy - "Thus ended Beleg Strongbow, truest of friends, [...] at the hand of him whom he most loved; and that grief was graven on the face of Túrin and never faded."

They're utterly heartbreaking, but also so lovely. They've got it all. The tragedy, yes, but hand in hand with that is the camaraderie (all the Battle Couple tropes!), the love that overrides all common sense, that complete closeness that makes everyone around them jealous, because no one else even has a look-in with Túrin when Beleg's around...

And like, not to lower the tone here, but you can see them fucking nasty, should the occasion call for it, or going for the slow, soft-focus lovemaking. They're versatile that way. XD

And despite the tragedy, there is that hope, that tiny glimmer of light on the horizon, that when the Dagor Dagorath comes and Arda is remade, they might be able to find each other again, and everything will be better this time round.

The thought of them together is just beautiful, on so many levels. <3 Russingon I do not care about this ship. I see why everyone else does, sure, but it pings off nothing inside me. It stirs no fire in my bosom. XD Also the fact that I'm not very interested at all in Fingon probably doesn't help.

I'd probably have stayed on that level, except for the fact that it's also pretty much the juggernaut pairing of Silm fandom, so it gets every-fucking-where. I can be happily reading a fic that has bugger all to do with either Maedhros or Fingon, when suddenly boom! Surprise background Russingon! NO. Where did it come from? Why is it here?? Go away!!! So now I have a wholly petty "fuck off" reaction to it. 😅

ObiKonan. What drew you to this pairing? I want the story. ❤️

Okay this is going to sound weird but I never thought about them until I rewatched the fight and interaction between Tobi and Konan during their battle. XD The way Konan mentioned that she observed him for many years and how it's hinted that they worked closely together got me curious about the ship.

There were some that shipped them too, but there weren't many that contributed to them, rendering them to be a rarepair, and I never felt this strongly about them before until my curiosity got to me and I decided to look up some fanfics about them - and this is when I found "Fire and Paper" by lavender_lightning on AO3.

That fic just did it for me. I literally felt like I was watching the show as I read that fic, and I could not put it down. The writing and characterization got me hooked into them - and I just needed to have more. There was angst, sexual tension, emotions, and they were all perfectly in-character even with the author's development. The author added things that we never got to see as viewers of the show or as readers of the manga, but they never destroyed their characterization.

Not to mention that they even look really good together; they're both fucking sexy in appearance, their personality is perfect enough for an Enemies to Lovers trope (love/hate relationship).

And digging deeper into their characterization, they just have so many similarities that they could bond over if given the chance. There are so many potential ways to establish this strange, unique relationship that not many would think could work.

The ship itself carries the perfect amount of angst, eroticism and romance to make them a beautiful couple, which is something I'm more than happy to contribute to.

They're just so sensual, which is something I love in a pairing! So when I think of ObiKonan, I just think "sensual" (whereas for ObiRin, I just think "affectionate").

To summarize all of this: They're just so fucking hot and beautiful. XD

My fav tropes for them? I like the trope where one of them (Vanessa) assumes she can't compete with another love interest only to be shocked when their crush picks them instead (so Yami picking Vanessa over Charlotte). Yami rescuing Vanessa from the cage is also a love at first sight trope I'd argue (Vanessa falling instantly for him). For TV Tropes stuff, some tropes that describe them are: subordinate excuse, battle couple, birds of a feather etc.

8 & 16 for the New Year's writer ask! ☺️

Hiya, friend! Will do! :D 8. Is there a story idea in your mental vault that you’ve never been brave enough to try writing? Is this the year? Can you tell us about it? I have a couple of ideas I mentioned for this question here and here. In general, if I can finish Where do we go from here? as a 13-part series, that would be soooo amazing. The fact that I went back into writing with this series was a brave move, because this project has been the biggest one I’ve worked on...ever. I’m super proud how it has been received so far, and writing each one shot has taught me so much. I’m a slow writer, I’m picky with details and I really need to do my research before I’m comfortable with writing what I want to write, so it has been quite a process. I’ve never written a bunch of one shots that support a bigger story arc before, so in a way, the prompts I have left for this series are all things I’ve never written before! There’s so much to explore when it comes to life after Hogwarts, careers, during the war and after the war! Same with different genres and tropes (but of course, flangst or angst are my favs). I have a couple of one shots I have outlined right now for the series, but it’s more about me picking which one to work on next (during the war before the Battle of Hogwarts or post-war, a year after the Battle). The former is Oliver’s PoV and the latter is Percy’s PoV. Maybe I should flip a coin or something if I want to get things moving again! XD 16. Do you have that one fanfic that you wrote a ton for, ages ago, but never posted? Will this be the year, come hell or high water, that it WILL get finished and posted? I do have some old fics I wrote before a took a long hiatus from writing. Lots of WIPs and so many notes! I’m not sure if those will ever get posted, since my writing style has changed, and honestly, I’m not completely in love some of these. Maybe because so much time has passed? I do have wayyy older fics that were posted on LJ back in the day, and I have been considering editing and re-releasing some of these on AO3 though. There are a few Drarry ones I still like, and I love what I had written for Deamus (fun fact: I used to RP once upon a time, and RPing as Seamus helped me figure out how to write for this ship). ANDDDD, I also have 4 WIP Perciver fics I wrote back in 2020 during lockdown when I was still trying to decide if I should start writing again. Obviously, I started posting fic up on AO3, so maybe one or all of these stories will be posted for 2023. I know two of them have a decent amount of words, and if I do have the time to brush the dust off and tighten things up more...well, I best not get ahead of myself yet. Well since I'm on the subject, Finn Mcmissile and my carsona Alma Mater. Alma is a mechanic (medic in their world) who originally studied under Doc Hudson before moving on to join CHROME. She's reserved but has a natural curiosity about the world and interest in travel. In car form she is a bubblegum pink & mint tow truck.

They meet at Miles Axelrod's prelaunch party. At the time Finn was in disguise spying on the guests and Alma was wandering about lost in the crowd. When a dancing song came up, in the heat of the moment Finn pulled her into his arms - er wheels - to make himself as normal as possible. This surprised Alma and she asked him who he was. Finn responded with "a friend" and while she was suspicious, she sensed he wasn't a threat and danced with him.

When Alma was told the truth she was surprised but, knowing lives were at stake, decided to help him on his mission. They got along pretty well (what u thought this is gonna be another bickering couple cliche?) Finn was impressed by Alma's talents and kindness. Alma was also surprised to find Finn to be a welcome character for his compassion and gentleness with rookies like her.

A defining moment would be in Italy where they visit Luigi & Guido's family. There's some moments like going to the market place, or to the beach. It's like both admit they want to take time to settle down but are overwhelmed with work and other personal problems. Seeing their friends interacting with the townsfolk gives them a better perspective on balancing their lives.

Finn and Alma are open with their feelings. I think it takes a few months after the events of 2 where Finn visits her in Radiator Springs & admits he has developed a romantic attraction. Alma decides to give romance a try.

Finn calls Alma "love" "dearie" "sweetheart" it makes her swoon. Alma calls him babygirl as a joke - it throws him off! 😆 She also calls him Finny, or love.

Their first date would be visiting the waterfalls followed by late night tractor tipping. In UK Finn takes her out to the little ferris wheel in london, or the pubs

Due to the nature of their jobs they do things very late at night. Alma doesn't mind it as she's used to doing nighttime activities and even finds it soothing. If she's in Scotland they go to the pub.

After Alma joined Chrome she moved in with Finn in his countryside estate. They also have a flat in London where CHROME HQ is located. In America they stay at Alma's cottage.

Finn does words of affirmation, gift giving and acts of service. Alma is physical touch&quality time.

Finn befriends almost everyone in Radiator Springs not just for Alma's sake but also because he's simply a pleasant person to be around. Alma becomes close to Holley Siddley and Rod (who doesn't die in my au)

Finn's family are actually relieved he found someone because they were starting to get worried that his lifestyle may get too isolating for him. Ofc Mater and Lightning were very supportive of Alma & Finn. Everyone else too, save for the Sergeant: he felt finn was a bit too old for her XD

Gadgets, sleek futuristic, neon hearts, and travel are themes in Finn x Alma. Also Sky x Fire dynamic

Tropes: Blue Boy, Pink Girl; Soldier x Medic, Age Gap Romance (Both are consenting adults), Battle Couple, Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl; Strong Girl Smart Guy

Even though Finn x Alma is one of my underrated ships I still very much enjoy them. It's to the point they feel like a real couple in canon and it makes me so happy.

There's a subplot in Cars 3 where Alma is getting ready for her and Finn's wedding but gets sidetracked with helping Cruz. They do marry at the end. By that point they were together for 8 years

7. Any worldbuilding you’re particularly proud of?

Well, the entirety of Hyperborean tbh? Because I got to write an "eternal winter" post-apocalyptic world with an entirely new social structure and get into the nitty-gritty of their everyday lives in a way that was very interesting. Some of it I would probably have written differently had I written it today, but I'm still very proud of it.

Another is Autonomy which, unlike Hyperborean, was less about creating an entirely new world and more about tweaking the canon Marvel concepts into something that fit a Space AU AND my idea of HYDRA being a parasitic virus instead of an ideology. I had so much fun figuring out how that should work and how to best showcase it in the story.

Because, to be honest, that's the best part? Not the world-building itself but the satisfaction I feel when I can make it relevant to the story. I'm not fond of info dumps so, incredibly often, I have a lot more information than ever makes it into the stories. But that's just a choice I have to make to keep the story well-paced, even if I LOVE world-building.

8. What song would make a great fic (to either write or read)?

Oh dang, a question about music x'D Honestly, for being someone who loves music as much as I do, I'm really, really bad at connecting music to writing or being inspired by music. I used to be back during my teenage years but, somewhere along the way, that just... faded? Not sure why.

ANYWAY. I think I'd have to go with Wicked Game by Chris Isaak. Because I'm a sucker for that kind of push-and-pull and "reluctant to fall in love" trope, especially if it has a hint of danger or drama. Here for it.

(Fun fact: The version of this song that I listen to the most is a cover made by the Finnish band HIM, which, incidentally, is a remnant from the previously mentioned teenage years. I was edgy back then)

17. What highly specific AU do you want to read or write even though you might be the only person to appreciate it?

That's tricky. Though I guess the easy answer would be a fic I'm already writing which is literally just for me. Like, I don't think anyone else (aside from my wife) will read it xD

And that's a Barduil AU (as in Thranduil and Bard from The Hobbit) where Thranduil fails spectacularly the first time around and gets a do-over, basically reliving the events of the Battle of the Five Armies — with his memories intact — and do better (and perhaps save a couple of lives on the way).

It's hyper-specific and hyper-catered to my own likes and desires. We'll see when I finish it and if I'll even bother to post it. But do know that I'm having an absolute BLAST writing it. Because it's entirely in Thranduil's POV and that is, quite possibly, my favourite POV I've ever written. He is a delight.

Hey, are you a Once Upon a Time fan? If not, disregard, but if so I’d love to read your thoughts on similarities/differences/parallels of Swan Queen vs. Buddie

Thank you for the ask. IDK how you’re going to feel, if I tell you that I did watch OUaT, and that I absolutely loved it! But also that I was a Captain Swan shipper, not a Swan Queen one. I hope you don’t hate me! XD I’m very much a “ship and let ship” type of person, but for Swan Queen specifically, it was one of those ships where, even though it wasn’t mine, I could see why people shipped it. On paper, it has everything that I should be loving ('coz I suspect that, just like people have a specific romantic type, I have a specific kind of romantic ship I’m more into. I love the “king and lionheart” trope - let me know if you’re not familiar with it - mixed in with “battle couple.” I also adore it if my ship co-parents). So even though for some reason, I ended up being hooked on Emma and Hook (I apologize for the collective groan this awful pun is responsible for), I know exactly why people liked Swan Queen, I could see it, and I have even thought about parallels between them and Buddie. But then, I also think there are certain parallels between Captain Swan and Swan Queen, which obviously means I see parallels between Captain Swan and Buddie... I have to admit, the latter is more interesting to me, because they weren’t supposed to happen. Hook was only meant to be there for the one ep. But he and Emma not only went canon, they became each other’s and the show’s endgame.

So basically, IDK if you’d want me to talk about any of this if I’m not a Swan Queen shipper? I also don’t know which comparison you’d like me to talk about out of the two (and I’m guessing both would probably be too much). I guess, let me know whatever you decide?
