Okay but what do you think about each of 'main seven' SoTE NPCs? (Leda, Freyja, Hornsent, Ansbach, Moore, Thiollier and Dane)? Which one is your favourite?
I'm glad you ask! But again I can't have ONE FAVORITE I'm bad at choosing one above all. ALL THE TIME!!!! 😂
Ok anyway I think each of those characters are very well done! Both individually and as a group!
They are all unique and quite interesting and I love their designs! And it is just so rare to have a big group like that of 7 SEVEN WHOLE PEOPLE who clearly have connections and interactions in a fromsoftware title like Hello?!?! (not just implied or in the lore).
Usually we have just a couple of like 2-3 characters per quest who really interact with each others. (and not just acknowledge/know the persons. Like Gideon & co or Sellen/Jerren quest or even Eileen/Henryk/Bloody Crow quest. It's usually a very limited number of npc per quests. Even for Ranni's quest there's not that much characters. As for Oedon Chapel all the characters don't really interact for each other besides Arianna/Adella and it's not positive XD
I found amazing they finally made a group of npcs we can really picture and see for our own eye!
Even if it's just in a cinematic of all of them together once lol or a battle to death. Just look at this...
Tumblr media
I mean, in Bloodborne, many people do agree that, for exemple many important lore characters actually knew each others or even were hunters together at the same time (because it's up to interpretations, simpler and really fun & create cool& crazy stories!) but we can never be fully sure. For exemple did Laurence, Micolash, Rom, Caryll actually went at Byrgenwerth around the same time? If not years/decades apart? Same for old hunters like Maria, Ludwig, Izzy Gratia & co etc did they really hunt side by side and nit years apart?
On the contrary we are sure that Ornstein, Artorias, Ciaran & Gough fought together, same for Gwen & co but we don't really see it in game with our character.
I mean idk how to explain but it feel very impactful and unique to have all this unique characters work together/have links and made us the player, and our characters do quests with all of them! I'm glad Fromsoftaware did that at least!
And can we talk about this masterpiece of a fight and music?!!? they went so hard! omg it was incredible and so emotional! 10/10
Now what do I think of each of them? Oh boy
Tumblr media
Well first they are seven of them. Like the seven guardians of light of kingdom hearts and many other thing. Like the number of runes we got on the main bosses 👀
Tumblr media
This is a joke yes
-Ok let's go with Leda now
Tumblr media
Since that artwork pop out I'm absolutely in love with the aesthetic ❤️ absolutely beautiful! Was very intrigued for sure. A dear a loyal follower of Miquella, what many people wanted to see or be! What an occasion. I appreciated her quickly for helping us!
But the more I advanced in the dlc the more I grew concerned, worried, scarred and even a bit terrified of her! I think no one expected it but she's capable of coldly doing the worst & killed past allies and that's terrifying. We know her sword literally have the blood of the past other needle knights too 😰 Still, I want to give a bit of nuance because it's up to interpretations but perhaps they did killed each others one by one and Leda just didn't kill her old squad all alone scary that things repeat itself... man must have been a big mess I really wonder what went down... probably a big tragedy too.
-Freyja : I really enjoyed her the antic/grec armor! That's so cool. It's so funny but when I met Freyja it went like this :
*Arrived in front of the npc* Hello sir! *talk to the npc*
*Freyja start to speak*
Me : Oh hello Ma'am?! 👀
I think many had assumptions with just the trailer! 😂 Likewise for Thiollier, on first trailer impression I would have assume a woman.
And I'm just so so happy that actually basic trope are swap! It just even more cool I love them so much!! <3
I really like her link with other characters and her quest in the storehouse. Girl is really the strong friend that need help in maths XD also her backstory with Radahn & Miquella is very interesting
-Speaking of Thiollier, I really like the guy too! <3 poor baby just wanted a hug from Trina... same fr I pity him a bit during that but after he calm down I know he's a true homies that will stand with me! I'm very intrigued by his backstory too... fell sad.
-Moore : aww look at this little guy 🥺 who like to collect stuff. So much autistic vibe jckfbh. Anyway he deserved better 😭
-Dane: really mysterious and interesting character for sure. I beat him first or 2nd try I thinK? Not that hard but he don't have weapons and is very strong respect! I like that he leave us message/ stuff around waterfall too
-Hornsent : very intriguing too 🤔 Also I screw up his quest kinda 💀 forgot to help him against Leda before Messmer dcnfnvnjfv also his link with Grandam (scorpion stew etc) and potentially Romina are very interesting! Why Romina? Well when I couldn't beat the final boss I discovered bro invade us just before Romina somehow?! I have no idea how did I missed him ?! So yes he try to block the way to the tower but more directly Romina. And he's a hornsent. So idk maybe there's a connection ?😅
-Ansbach : ah the goat! Of course I like the grandpa with a scythe and a helmet like the cainhurst one! 😂 What can I say I really like this character, he's wise and very kind towards us and looks so cool! He help us a lot. he have crazy ass revelation too O_O the only thing I can reproach him is that he used to work for Mohg and when he was younger probably did some very wild if not awful thing... he really don't feel that now hm? Anyway really like him too!

“…but you’re so much more than that”
aonung x met!fem!reader
a/n; AHHHH! my second ff, i hope you all love it like my first one!!! i’m sorry if it doesn’t make such sense literally on barely sleep and having health problems literally but i needed this to be posted! don’t forget to tell me your guys thoughts!!! also sorry the late night posts
warnings; my bad spelling and writing, nothing else(that i know of)
Tumblr media
✧༺♥༻∞ ∞༺♥༻✧
you grew up with aonung as you were neighbors when you were little. he was one year older than you and never let you forget it. he was always protective of you, treating like his sister.
but as time went on and you guys growing into young adults. you both changed. both of you barely hung out anymore. he never found the time to make for you, as he was preparing to become the next chief at her his father.
and for you? you had all the time on your hands. your parents weren’t anyone special to the clan like his were. your father was a hunter and your mother was a herd picker for Ronal. mother wanted you to take over her place when she would get too old and frail. you would always complain to her that you didn’t want to be the next her but over time, you started to love being out in the sea and forest picking herds, studying them, getting two rocks and smashing them into paste to heal peoples bruises and wounds.
whenever you would talk to aonung it mostly was when he came in the medic hit from a fight. his mother would scold him every time, “why don’t you ever listen?,” she yelled at him “you’re such a disappointment…” she said as she walked out of the hut calling for her daughter to follow. his face was emotionless looking down, lips pushed together. as soon as you would get close to him and try to touch him, he would look up with glossy eyes and walk out. you looked over your shoulder watching him walk into the forest.
✧༺♥༻∞ ∞༺♥༻✧
present day
today as you were walking to the hut, you heard ronal and her husband both yelling. as you were approaching the door you saw aonung and his friend, roxto, they just stood there nodding along and muttering sorrys. Tonowari dismissed them and walked out the hut, nodding towards you as he and his wife walked past you.
roxto looked at aonung, “hey man, i have to go…my parents are gonna be pissed,” he said as he placed a hand on aonungs shoulder walking out, muttering a quick bye to you.
you walked in clearly your throat to let him know you were in there. he looked up at you. he was about to walked past you but you grabbed his arm. “aonung,” you said looking at him “you’re hurt, let me help you…please,” you begged him. he turned his head to look into your eyes, you were looking up at him face covered in worry. he felt bad, you being worried about him made him feel like shit.
he turned his body to face you head-on. he pulled his hand up to rub your bicep, “okay,” he said softy while quickly to rub your arm “just don’t make that face okay? you look like you’re going to cry,” he said staring into your eyes. you muttered a thank you and told to sit while you got the herds you needed.
he watched your body moved from corner to corner of the room. he smiled to himself watching you talk to yourself checking things off a list in your head. you turned around, you saw him smiling at you so you smiled back. walking over to him you grabbed some rocks to crush up the herds.
“what happened now aonung?,” you asked as you placed some leaves between two rocking grinding them.
he sighed looking down “i got into a fight with the sully boys…again,” he confessed. you stopped grinding the leaves looking up at him with your eyebrows together. shaking your head as you grab some paste and rub it on his bruises and small cuts. “ow ow ow, don’t run it in so hard, you’re usuallly nicer,” he said as he faked frown causing you to giggle and let a small smile.
you looked into his eyes “it wouldn’t hurt at all if you didn’t do it in the first place,” you stated as you went to grab some other herds and grind them.
he chuckled at you, causing you to give him a confused look. “y/nnnn” he dragged your name out in a playful matter. “i think you keep forgetting i’m older than you,” he chuckled. it was quiet for a few minutes as you keep putting paste on him. he just watch as you softly run the paste on his skin. smiling as you look up every once in at his face, and every time you would look away and blush.
“y/n?,” he asked waiting for you to respond, you hummed to waiting for his question, “i’m sorry,” he said to you. you looked at you leaning your head to the side pushing your eyebrows together. “for the fighting, not talking to you, and keeping myself away from you,” he started softly.
you softly smiled to yourself. you grabbed his hand, rubbing his palm “aonung” you said looking into his eyes, “i was hurt when you stopped hanging out with me alone, talking to me, and coming to my hut every night to sneak out and play on the beach.” he looked down ashamed, you grabbed the side of his face forcing him to look up, “but i forgive you, i know how stress you are not being a disappointment, but you’re so much more than that, i see you for who you are aonung,” now cupping both sides of his face, rubbing his cheeks.
he smiled at you, removing your hands from his face, taking them into his own, interlocking them with his. looking down at your hands realizing how small they are, “thank you y/n,” he said looking up at you “really thank you for believing in me for no matter what,” he took one of his hands, placing his hand on your chin, “i see you y/n …i am now going to kiss you now,” he stated. you giggled at him not believing him for a second till you saw him lean in, you closed your eyes letting him kiss you. he moved his lips against yours, you wrapped your arms around his neck getting closer. after a few more second you pushed yourself back, putting ur forehead on chest giggling to yourself, putting your hand up to lips still not believing he kissed kissed you.
“stop gigglinggg,” he teased you, pushing you back a little so he could see your face. he rubbed your cheek, taking in the moment you both are having, alone finally.
✧༺♥༻∞ ∞༺♥༻✧
during the whole interaction, his father was outside watching. he smiled to himself knowing his son was in safe hands from now on. he also walked to his wife to gossip what just happened.
one more a/n; i have three in works rn but i also have a life so please give me some time so sorry!!

I was genuinely surprised with the responses I've got on the first part of [THIS story]. It was such a random burst of motivation to write that I didn't even think it through and just posted whatever came out of my head. But I'm very glad that you liked it, since it's the first story I've showed to other people in like 4 years.
The working title will be "Assassinate them with Kindness", and I'll use that as a tag for later parts when I add them. It's also [available on Ao3] if you'd prefer to read it over there.
Enjoy <3
--- ----- --- ----- --- ----- --- ----- ---
The weird man does not go to Sam's group on Monday.
Which is not as big of a relief as Sam thought it would be.
Because if the man is not here... where is he? And why did he even ask if he could join the group? Was he just taunting Sam? Teasing him with the knowledge or Sam's schedule and whereabouts, but not revealing how and for what purpose did he get that information?
Sam briefly glances at his wrist, covered neatly by a long-sleeved shirt and a warm blazer. The day is way too hot for this type of clothing, but he refused to look at the bruises on his skin for more than two seconds after noticing them for the first time. He still feels the pain, but it's easier to make it fade into the background, if he pretends it isn't there at all.
In spite of his nervousness and constant worry, Sam leads his group like a true professional. Calm, collected, funny when needed. A shining example of an ex-soldier who has left most of their PTSD far behind by working hard to healthily rejoin society. Definitely not a person, who started carrying a gun in public again after singular weird encounter, and who constantly has to fight with himself to not look over his shoulder and check if there isn't anyone watching him from the shadowed backroom.
But the man was not there. The meeting went well. And all the people leaving the room with their polite "good bye's" and casual "see ya!'s" have no idea about the turmoil in his head.
"See you Thursday," Sam smiles pleasantly and grabs Tyler's hand with both palms, shaking it lightly, as a young vet stops by. "It's nice to see you again. It's been a while," he adds, hoping that his eyes convey genuine warmth.
Tyler is young - too young to deal with this sort of trauma. A typical example of a teenager pulled into a military machine by life circumstances, not because of any principled believes. He went to have a better chance at higher education afterwards. And he lost half of his right leg for it.
He is secretly Sam's favourite in the group, with his sense of humour and positive attitude. Though Sam is sure there is a lot of fears and sadness hidden behind all the jokes, because he acted the exact same way when he first sought out help after coming home. It was easy to see the reflection of younger Sam in Tyler's behaviour.
And it was also great to have someone in the group who could keep everyone's mood relatively light when topics were getting heavy, without making others feel as if their confessions were not treated seriously. It was, of course, Sam's job to control the atmosphere as best as he could , but on days like this - when he himself didn't feel stellar - it was a relief to not shoulder all the emotional weight of the meeting on his own.
"Is everything alright, Mr. Wilson?" Tyler asks, also shaking Sam's hands a little.
"It's Sam, we've talked about this," Sam smiles, deflecting by playing their classic game of arguing over formality levels of their relation. It's a bit worrying. To know that he can put on a mask and his vets might notice his distress anyway. But no one else said anything, so maybe he fooled the rest of them successfully?
"Apologies. Is everything alright, Mr. Sam Wilson?"
Tyler sends him a bright grin and Sam sighs. He doesn't have much energy left to argue or pretend. He did not sleep very well last week, to put it lightly.
"I'm alright," he finally replies without much conviction. "It's personal stuff, you don't need to worry about this. It should be resolved by the next meeting," he adds, hoping that this little lie will make his situation look like a solvable problem with the end in sight. Maybe if he believes in it hard enough it would even come true?
For now, it seems that Tyler buys the explanation and drops the topic. As they exchange goodbyes, he still glances at Sam with a slight frown, but he doesn't push. It'd be unusual if he did. As much as Sam loves working with these people and helping them, they're not that close. His vets don't get involved in his personal life.
...They don't know where he lives, for example...
Sam shakes his head to stop himself from thinking and gathers the papers on his desk with a bit more energy than the task requires. He needs to get out of here. The conference room he uses is relatively big, but the walls seem to get closer and closer, the ceiling pressing down on him.
He exits the building, taking long steps, and avoiding everyone's eyes. Fortunately, most people he passes don't know him, so he's not stopped for any conversations about his last weekend and all the fun his co-workers had while he sat on his guestroom floor surrounded by unhealthy snacks, and wondering if it's reasonable to invest his meager savings in an upgraded security system.
It's embarrassing, when he thinks back to those three days. It shouldn't be that big of a deal.
But something about that man... About his eyes. About the bruises he left.
Sam really tried to not look at them too closely to avoid spiraling again, but he's pretty sure his skin almost broke in some places, as if pinched too hard. The only reason he didn't notice it right away was probably the sheer rush of adrenaline that flooded him in that moment and dulled the pain.
Once he's outside, Sam leans on a nearby wall, out of everyone's sight, unsure of what to do next. Even though he spent the last weekend hidden in his home, the place did not feel safe. All he could focus on were unusual noises or the headlights of random cars passing by, casting uneven shadows on his walls. At some point he was sure one specific shadow looked like a person, but when he carefully peered outside, his garden was empty, with the exception of a small bat the flew in circles under the nearest lamppost, catching moths in peace.
Normally, he'd stay, watching the little guy and reminiscing about the time he too could fly at such speed, but it didn't feel safe, so he moved as far away from the window as possible.
All Sam wants right now is to get back to his bed and hide under the covers, go to sleep, and wake up to realize that the whole thing was just a dream.
His bag slips from his shoulder when he slumps against the wall and the strap catches on his wrist. He hisses in pain, reminded once more - as if he forgot, somehow - that his paranoia is actually justified and that his home is not some safe haven he'd like it to be. Because someone strong enough to nearly break his bones with a strong grip knows where he lives and could come back at any second.
If the guy was a real vet, why didn't he come to the meeting?
And again... if he's not here... Where is he?!
Sam readjusts his bag and straightens up. He cannot come home right now, but he needs to sleep somewhere. He could ask one of his new friends to take their couch for the night... but it's not Delacroix and his friendships here are not on the "sleepover" level yet. And if the man decides to look for him, Sam would drag the danger to someone else's home.
He's not that selfish.
Maybe he could find someone on a dating app and stay the night?
He shudders at the idea. It reeks of desperation even to his clouded brain. He would not do that to some random innocent person. And he would not do that to himself. He has enough dignity left.
The mere fact that he came up with a solution like that sobers him up a little bit. It sounds almost ridiculous and he's sure he would laugh about it one day... if he lives long enough to tell the story about his lowest point post-Afganistan.
What he needs to do is to go to a public space. A place with cameras, a nice crowd with enough eyes, to catch if something's wrong - but not crowded enough that a person would fade into the sea of faces and moving bodies.
With that in mind, Sam takes another deep breath to calm himself and marches towards the nearest bar he knows. The place is probably half-empty at this hour, but an evening wave of patrons should start trickling in pretty soon.
The inside of the establishment is a bit too dark for Sam's liking, but as he sits at the bar he feels some of the tension leave his body at last. Behind the bartender there is a freshly cleaned mirror, showing most of the tables, so Sam can keep an eye on the room while eating.
He's not in the mood for drinking - mostly to stay vigilant, not because he couldn't use a nice glass of whiskey right now - but the place offers some typical fast food options, so he picks them from the menu instead. He'll have to really push himself during the next training session to pay for the sugar and fat intake of the last four days, but he feels like he's earned the right to be indulgent for at least a while.
As he eats, Sam observes other patrons suspiciously, looking over his shoulder from time to time. At some point he's sure he feels someone's eyes on his back, but no one new entered the building in the last twenty minutes and the people on nearby tables seem preoccupied with their own thoughts and conversations, so he's sure it's just the paranoia.
It's starting to get dark outside and the bar fills with shadows before someone turns on a few extra laps. There are more people sitting around Sam now, some staring in silence into their drinks, others talking casually, or flirting with the bartender, as per usual.
The guy behind the bar seems cute. Probably a bit younger than Sam's typical partner, but still in his bracket. He accepts the compliments with a calm smile not cutting them off right away, but not doing much to encourage the attention. Sam gets a little lost for a second, observing the man's hands as he prepares the drinks, almost hypnotized by the movents.
Suddenly, one of the patrons - one that's been sitting by the bar before Sam even came in - drops her wallet in a clumsy attempt to pay the bill. She smiles awkwardly at the bartender, who simply grabs the wallet for her from the floor, clearly used to similar shenanigans.
As the guy leans forward, a curtain of thin braids covers his face for a brief second and he glances somewhere in Sam's general direction from between them before standing up.
Sam freezes.
The man looks basically nothing alike the guy who stood at his doorstep last week, but something about that look causes the memories to flood Sam once again. He feels dizzy and the comfortable atmosphere of the bar becomes overwhelming and stuffy in a blink of an eye.
He nearly jumps out of his chair and makes a beeline to the bathroom. He's not sure why. He just needs to... Wash his face maybe. Look into the mirror and have a stern talk with his brain. Something. Anything! To finally calm down.
As he walks towards the bathrooms, he notices some man sitting in a booth he previously didn't see. He's dressed pretty formally, phone in hands, and an annoyed grimace on his face. He looks more like a person currently working than someone who just went for drinks to wind down after work.
His eyes meet Sam's which sends a cold shiver down his spine. For whatever reason, this man - looking like a banker or low-lever politician, which is a common sight in DC - scares Sam just as much as the creepy stranger haunting his thoughts.
He breaks the eye contact and darts towards the bathrooms even faster, nearly colliding with someone who exits the door.
There are three other people in the bathroom, two of which wash their hands and fix their hair in front of the mirror. Neither of them look particularly suspicious, but Sam keeps an eye on them anyway, walking towards the stalls and locking himself in one of them.
He sits there for less then two second before he realizes that he's made himself more vulnerable by isolating himself from the crowd, but he's really not sure what to do next. The brief moment of fear after seeing the bartender with hair hanging over his face seems silly in retrospect. He could've just ignored the panic, push the discomfort down, and go back to the main room. But the man in suit sitting in a secluded booth?
That was actually worrying. Because he didn't just look generally annoyed or angry. He seemed to be specifically mad at Sam. Which would be concerning with any other influential White guy, but in this particular instance Sam feels like there's more to it.
He hears another person enter the bathroom, interrupting his thoughts. Two of the people washing their hands leave. Someone else comes in. Sam keeps track of everyone inside and at some point he's pretty sure he's the only person still sitting here, so he quietly exits the stall.
Just as he expected, the bathroom is empty. It's a bit weird, all things considered. It's a Monday afternoon, sure, but this place is not alive just on the weekends and in the night, when students party. There should be a constant rotation of people going in and out at any point.
But the room is silent as Sam stands there, wondering what to do next.
He's pretty sure he hears some water running on the other side of the wall and muffled laughs, seemingly coming from a group of women washing their hands and talking in an adjacent room.
Sam's familiar with all the overdone jokes about girls visiting the bathroom way more often than guys or about them going there in hordes. And, stereotypical or not, there is some truth to those... but Sam's pretty sure it should not be this disproportional.
The man's bathroom has been empty for over five minutes. Which is way too long, considering the size of the crowd.
A motion activated light loudly going off in one of the stalls makes it even more clear that Sam's suspiciously alone in here.
He washes his hands just to do something when, finally, the door to the main part of the bar opens. A wave of sound - clinking glasses, loud conversations, a ringtone - fill the empty space until the door closes again, cutting the noise off.
Sam exhales with relief and moves to dry his hands.
Then he notices him.
The man from his porch, now standing behind him, staring straight at Sam in the mirror.
He looks even bigger now, taller, and more broad at the shoulders, his hair still covering the face like a greasy veil. His eyes pin Sam in place like a wild animal who's fight or flight instincts fired so many contradicting impulses in its brain that it ended up just freezing.
In any other situation Sam would feel vindicated. He was right! He was not safe, he was observed, and someone is going after him - for whatever reason.
He can take that useless sense of satisfaction and bring it straight to his grave.
The man doesn't move. He just looks at Sam or through him, maybe. As if he's mentally not here. Maybe his soul has also left his body, like Sam assumes his own did right now?
It's just like that day at his home. Awkward, tense silence and creepy staring. Sam feels the hairs on his arm stand up like a coordinated unit. His heart beats so fast and loud that it must echo on the bathroom's walls. If Sam's ears were not filled with ringing, he'd probably be more sure about that.
The man blinks, just once.
And something in Sam just... breaks.
When he'll think about it later he'll have no idea why he did it. But he simply turns off the water and turns towards the guy in one smooth motion.
"Oh, I know you" he says, tone casual.
The man frowns this time, still looking directly at Sam. One of his hands is hidden inside or his unzipped jacket and it twitches a little. Whatever he's holding there probably isn't a bouquet or a dove, he'll produce out of nowhere and present to Sam like a magician.
"Fancy meeting you here," he adds, like it's a normal conversation. Like they're friends from work or as if the man was his favourite cashier at a local store. "In the bar, I mean. Not in the bathroom," he jokes.
The man's face does a weird thing. It's difficult to tell what kind of emotion he wanted to convey, but he seems confused. Does he even recognize Sam? Maybe he's really not as mentally present this time?
The water drips from Sam's hands to the tiled floor - tiny rivulets running down his fingers. It's quiet again, just as before, until one of the other motion activated lights goes off in the stalls. Then the next one right after it. Click. Click.
The guy flinches twice, his hand moving under the jacket's lapels.
"Can I help you with something?" Sam asks finally. At this point it feels like his mouth is operating on its own, entirely independent on his brain. He's also there, but not really.
Maybe he's already died and hasn't realized?
"You didn't go to my meeting today." Why does he keep talking?! "Do you plan to join this Thursday?"
By some miracle, this question seems to work. The guy's eyes dart around nervously and he shivers as the last of the lights in the stalls section goes off. The room is dimly lit by now only by the small lights over the sinks. And Sam cannot ignore that they're still, somehow, alone in here.
"I'm sorry I didn't come today," the man says and he sounds sincere, though monotone. "There were too many people in there."
"Well, it's a group meeting," Sam smiles. "The people are kind of a given."
He feels like he's body is operating on a pure survival mode. It reminds him of his time in the military, in a way; of the time, where he had to put one hundred percent of his focus on staying alive and keeping other's from dying, too, but couldn't actually think about it. Because there were bullets flying by, and his hands were sticky with someone's blood, and there was a wound to stitch, and a person screaming. If he registered all of that in full, he'd just collapse on the ground, overwhelmed and paralyzed by fear. So it was easier to just switch his brain off and let the instincts and years of training take the wheel.
"If you're worried about confessing in front of others, it's okay." He keeps talking and the man's stare becomes even more intense. His eyes seem very blue, even in the poor lighting, which Sam didn't truly notice before. They look cold, but not because of the colour. More like there's not enough life in them. "There's no pressure to tell your story right away. Some people in my group love talking. Other's just sit and listen. If no one's up to talk, I take over and give a little speech," Sam grins.
And he somehow knows that if he looked into the mirror to his left, his smile would look genuine.
"I don't like talking," the man says eventually.
"I figured," is Sam's reply. "Like I said, I won't push you to say shit."
It's probably not the most professional way of phrasing it, but he's not at work and, frankly, he's about to be murdered, so it's not like they'll reprimand him for inappropriate language.
"Also," he continues, "I can give you a number to one of my colleagues who does one on one therapy sessions. That way you could..."
"No."
"...avoid groups," he finishes awkwardly. " Fair enough."
"Do you do it? The therapy? One on one, no people?"
Sam doesn't. And he'd probably lie about it, even if he did.
"Not these days. I already have a ton of work with groups. If you want to see me, specifically, you know where to find me."
Clearly.
"I do," the man confirms like it's not the creepiest thing Sam's heard in his entire life.
"Well, I have to go now," Sam tries, hoping that if he sneaks out of the bathroom fast enough this whole nightmare will finally end. If the guy's here to kill him, he's doing a pretty bad job right now, so maybe Sam could just... walk away from the situation. Surely, he won't get stabbed in the back in the middle of a bar? Right?
The guy's face contorts in a painful way and he finally removes his hand from under the jacket. Sam tenses, but the gloved palm is empty. At the same time, the guy sways a little on his feet and grabs the wet counter with both hands.
Before Sam has time to process what's happening, he's already next to the guy, holding his elbow carefully and looking straight into his eyes. The pupils are dilated and then suddenly small like a poppy seed, changing in a matter of milliseconds. Sam's never seen anything like it.
"Are you alright?" he asks unnecessarily, trying to keep the man from falling face-first into the sink.
They look at each other and the man seems panicked, more than anything. The unwashed strands of brown hair hang over his eyes, but this time Sam's too worried about him to let himself spiral again at the now familiar sight.
The counter makes a strained noise and a small crack appears on the surface. Sam imagines his own bones turning into dust under such grip and his wrist pulses with pain he felt in the background for the last few days.
"Are you okay?" he asks again, sounding more urgent this time. He doesn't even care at this point if the man's here to kill him. Sam's a paramedic first, and if someone's fighting for their life nearby, he'll always drop everything to make things better. Even if his body might end up in trashcan behind the bar for the effort.
The man blinks, licks his lips, and takes a ragged breath. There's a weird grey cast to his face now and he didn't even look that healthy to begin with.
"I have to go," he whispers finally and stands up. His forehead shines with sweat and his pupils are wide again. "Thank you," he adds quieter and walks away unnaturally fast.
He's there. And then he's not. The door closes so quietly behind him, that Sam doesn't even register the sound.
Sam sits down, not caring about the wet and disgusting floor and stares at the opposite wall in silence. In the women's bathroom someone laughs out loud and a sharp sound of the shattering glass reaches him from the bar.
It almost feels like he's lost his hearing for a while and it suddenly returns to him. As if he's been under water and came break to the surface once more.
He also tastes blood on his tongue and realizes he must have bitten it at some point without realizing. The unpleasant sting of a cut is what finally helps him to come back to himself. He cannot stay in this place a second longer.
He washes his hands again so they stop feeling as clammy and touches his face with them too. The cold water helps a lot, but his own eyes look wild in the mirror.
As he exits the bathrooms, he looks over the crowd that gathered inside since he fled the bar. Just as before, most people don't even look in his direction and he realizes that the man in a suit who stared at him earlier is gone as well.
Then, he turns around to close the door and suddenly he's faced with a bright yellow sign that warns: "Under Maintenance" in bold, black letters. An official looking printout below adds: "DO NOT ENTER".
None of those signs have been there before.
All Sam can do at this point is grip his bag, lower his head, and exit the bar as fast as possible. If he is getting strangled or stabbed today, he at least wants for it to happen in his home.

Shoutout to tumblr for glitching a making me feel like I've lost over 700 words of a draft <3 That mini heart-attack was very necessary.
Btw, funny thing about this chapter is that I've basically spent the entire time thinking that I'm doing too much. Like... I keep pushing Sam deeper and deeper into this spiral, but nothing really happened to him. It's not a big deal, calm down, man.
But then I have to remind myself that if some suspicious looking man knocked on my door, told me that he got my address from a person I don't know, asked me where I worked, and grabbed my arm so hard it nearly broke... I would simply perish on the spot from the stress xD Or I'd spent the rest of my life paranoid, even if nothing more happened.
So I think Sam should be allowed to have a 4-day almost panic attack, as a treat.

__________
"Woo! Amazing!" Avery's claps echoed through the room as she leaped onto the plush leather couch, sending vibrations that jolted Zac into a celebratory dance.
The much-anticipated day of the show was drawing near, and we had been tirelessly rehearsing. Despite everyone's praises, I felt there was always room for improvement.
"I'm utterly drained. Let's call it a day," I declared, collapsing onto the couch next to Avery and Zac.
"Are you sure? You practically begged me for extra rehearsal hours," Jungkook teased, concern etched on his face.
"My throat feels like it's on fire, and my head is pounding," I confessed, my voice hoarse and tired.
Avery gently rubbed my back, suggesting, "Take some Strepsils; you'll be fine."
Zac stood up, nodding in agreement. "Should we head out?"
"Yeah, let's go," Avery chimed in, following Zac toward the door. "Bye, guys!"
As they left, we waved our goodbyes, and I closed my eyes, sinking back into the couch. Suddenly, I felt Jungkook's presence beside me.
"Are you okay?" he inquired, his voice laced with concern.
"Yeah, why?" I replied, meeting his gaze with weary eyes that threatened to shut at any moment.
He sighed, clearly sensing something was amiss. "I feel like you're not telling me something."
"Do I have to spill every detail of my life to you?" I snapped, my exhaustion making me unusually irritable.
He looked taken aback, his confusion evident. "No, I didn't mean—" Before he could finish his sentence, he stops. He looks at me with such sad eyes. "Get some sleep. Talk to me when your eyes aren't threatening to close on their own," he retorted, his words sharper than intended. He hesitated for a moment, as if wanting to say something more, but eventually, he stood up and silently closed the door behind him. I let out a heavy sigh and covered my eyes with my palms, hoping to find a moment of peace amidst the chaos.
He knew you’re not being yourself, you kept the distance a lot more these days since what happend with Ander, everyone noticed, including Avery, who wanted to hang out but you politely declined everytime with another made-up excuse. You don’t want to sing — you mean you can’t sing with someone else, It’s not … what you’re used with. You hate new, you want the ordinary, the basic you’ve been doing.
Jungkook’s an amazing singer, you know it and he knows it too, but everytime you step into the practice room, a knot tightened in my stomach, you know how much he wants to help you and you know how much you need him, so you let him, but deep down you think about Ander and how quick he left and you’ve got someone else.
His voice resonated with passion and talent, filling the room with melodies that should have comforted me. Instead, they only intensified my insecurity. I compared every note he sang to the echoes of Ander’s notes, the memory of our duets haunting me like a ghost.
Did Ander try to contact you? Well His messages were filled with empty apologies, excuses that felt like salt on my wounds. I blocked him on all platforms, so he sent pointless emails.
The clock says 04:55, I found myself tossing and turning in bed, unable to shake off the tension from earlier. Unable to bear the suffocating feeling inside, I quietly slipped out of my room, barely seeing anything, I put on one of my hoodies and leave the house in the hushed darkness of the night.
The cool night air brushed against my skin as I walked aimlessly, trying to clear my mind. The city was silent, so, so, silent.
It was cold outside, I was in some Hello Kitty PJ’s and a hoodie that barely makes me warm, but I keep walking until I don’t feel the cold anymore.
The sun will rise in about half an hour now.
You wanna wait for it, making sure you’ll see it clearly, you go to the park that’s some miles away.
Suddenly, a cute dog start following you, you crouch down to him to pet him and he start licking you, gross but cute. “Come!” You smile and lead him to a small bench.
“Brianna?”
You turn your head, pulling the hood of the hoodie off to see better and you can’t belive who’s here. At this fucking hour.
He looked as surprised to see me as I was to see him. "What are you doing here?" he asked, his tone a mixture of concern and annoyance. He approaches me. “I knew I heard your voice. I thought- I thought I was crazy for a sec.” He looks up and down on me like he’s seen a ghost I wonder if I look okay, I didn’t bother to look in the mirror.
"I needed some fresh air," I replied, my voice cold, mirroring the chill in the night, trying not to make eye contact with him.
"Well, you should have stayed at home," he snapped back, his frustration apparent. "You can't just walk around in the middle of the night alone."
"I can do whatever I want," I shot back, my temper flaring, looking up at him. “I don't need you to tell me what to do." My attention goes back to the dog as he bites my finger in a playful way. Jungkook just stares at it looking down on me.
“Brianna, I want to understand-“
In the midst of our vulnerable embrace, a sudden surge of frustration and anger overwhelmed me. You get up, he takes 2 steps back. “You think you can just swoop in and fix everything?" I snapped, pushing Jungkook away. "You don't know what I've been through. You don't understand."
Jungkook's eyes narrowed, his own temper flaring. "Maybe I don't, but that doesn't mean I don't care. I hate seeing you like this, shutting everyone out, including me." He points to himself and talks in an exhausted way.
I scoffed bitterly, a bitter laugh escaping my lips. "And what? You think you can change that? You think your concern will magically solve all my problems?"
He clenched his fists, his jaw set in determination. "No, I don't think it will magically solve everything. But at least you won't have to face it alone. We're friends, aren't we? Friends support each other."
"Friends?" I scoffed again, the word tasting like ash in my mouth. "Friends wouldn't fight all the time. Friends wouldn't constantly push each other's buttons."
Jungkook's expression softened, hurt flickering in his eyes. "Maybe we're more than just friends," he said, his voice surprisingly gentle. "Maybe I care about you more than I'm willing to admit."
His words hung in the air, heavy with the weight of unspoken emotions. I felt a pang of guilt, realizing that my anger had overshadowed his genuine concern. "I don't know what I want," I confessed, my voice breaking. "I'm scared of messing things up, of losing the people I care about. Again.”
Jungkook stepped closer, his hand reaching out to gently cup my cheek. "You don't have to have all the answers right now," he said softly. "Just know that I'm here for you, no matter what. We can figure it out together."
In that moment, the fight within me crumbled, replaced by a flood of emotions. I let out a shaky breath, feeling the weight of my fears lifting, if only a little. Jungkook pulled me into a comforting hug, and for the first time that night, I felt a glimmer of hope.
We stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, the night around us slowly coming to life. In that moment, I realized that maybe, just maybe, I didn't have to face everything alone. Perhaps, with Jungkook by my side, I could find the strength to confront my fears and conquer the challenges ahead.
As we stood there, embracing each other under the moonlit sky, I felt a sense of warmth and security wash over me. It was as if Jungkook's presence had cast away the shadows that had clouded my thoughts. I took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing heart.
"Thank you," I whispered, my voice catching in my throat. "I don't know what I would do without you."
Jungkook pulled back slightly, his hands cupping my face again as he looked into my eyes with sincerity. "You'll never have to find out," he said, his voice soft but resolute. "We're in this together, remember?"
A small smile tugged at the corners of my lips as I nodded, feeling a newfound sense of resolve. "Yeah, together," I echoed, realizing that I wasn't alone in my struggles anymore.
We continued our walk, no longer in silence but with a comfortable ease between us. We talked about our fears, dreams, and everything in between. With each word, the connection between us deepened, and I found solace in sharing my thoughts with someone who truly understood.
As the night turned into dawn, we returned home. The sun was beginning to rise, painting the sky with hues of pink and gold, signaling a new day and a fresh start.
He walked me home but before he could leave I stop him. “What were you doing alone at that hour? you didn’t tell me.”
Jungkook is silent for a moment before he starts “Thinking.”
“About?” You ask couriously.
“You.”
Before you could try to make him explain what the fuck was that he left.
“Rehearsal today at 4 ok?” he shots from the street.
You giggle and give him a thumbs up.
What the hell did just happen.
______
"You know, I think they make a great couple," Avery mused, her voice laced with a sense of certainty. She reached out, deftly taking the blunt from Zac's hand, her fingers brushing against his in a fleeting touch. Zac's gaze followed the movement, his expression a mix of annoyance and intrigue.
"Hm?" Zac responded, his curiosity piqued as he took in the mention of Jungkook and Bri.
Avery settled into his lap, the weight of her presence grounding him in the moment. She exhaled a puff of smoke, blowing it up. "Jungkook and Bri, don’t ya think?" Avery's words hung in the air, mingling with the faint aroma of mari*uana. Zac's eyes flicked towards Bri's image in his mind, then back to Avery. He hesitated, the smoke clouding his thoughts momentarily.
"Um, yeah, sure, but they don’t seem like they like each other or shit," Zac replied, his voice a low murmur as he tried to make sense of the situation. Avery's eyes met his, a playful glint dancing in them as she inched closer. Before she could take another puff, Zac leaned in, capturing her lips in a pressed kiss.
"I think they really like each other," Avery murmured against his lips, her words muffled yet sincere. Her fingers traced a thoughtful path along his jawline, her touch a gentle caress that seemed to ease the tension in his muscles. "I know Bri is afraid, I just know it, but JK? What would he be afraid of?" She furrowed her brows, deep in contemplation.
"Afraid of moving too fast and lose her?" Zac suggested, his voice barely audible, his thoughts unraveling like the tendrils of smoke surrounding them. He shrugged, the uncertainty evident in his gaze.
"God, you're really smart," Avery whispered, her lips brushing against his cheek in a tender peck. With a soft sigh, she slid off his lap, the absence of her warmth leaving a lingering sensation. Rising from the couch, she reached for her phone, her fingers gliding across the screen as she dialed a number.
____
Avery's eyes widened in disbelief, her excitement palpable as I recounted the bizarre events of the previous night, or was it technically today?
"I can't believe it! No way, you did what?" Avery exclaimed, her voice echoing with a mix of shock and exhilaration.
The weight of the situation pressed down on me, making my palms clammy as I buried my face in them. "I don't know, I feel so weird right now," I confessed, my words muffled against my hands. "I have a rehearsal with him in an hour."
Avery's eyes glinted with determination as she seized upon the moment, her excitement bubbling over. "You gotta ask him what was that!" she urged, her words rapid, punctuated by animated gestures. She jumped up and down on the sofa, the energy radiating from her contagious enthusiasm.
"I'm scared," I admitted, my voice barely audible as I grappled with the overwhelming vulnerability that threatened to consume me. "I'm scared to let someone into a place so important in my life again. Music means everything to me. I… I can't. I feel like I'm betraying someone."
Avery's eyes blazed with fiery determination, her frustration palpable as she unleashed her pent-up emotions. "Gosh, you're not betraying Ander! That fucker literally could've made you lose your show!"
I shook my head, my thoughts racing. "I'm… I'm not talking about him," I confessed, my voice quivering. "I just don't know what to do. I don't know if I can do this. I feel like I let him in too much. What if I lose him too? What if, on the day of the show, he'll say he won't come? What if—"
Before I could finish my sentence, Avery's hands shot out, shaking me and pinching me sharply. "Ouch!" I yelped, wincing from the sudden pain.
"You're like a crazy person talking right now," Avery retorted, her frustration palpable. She glared at me, her eyes fierce with determination. In a moment of impulse, I grabbed my phone and dialed Jungkook's number, my fingers trembling as I pressed the call button.
"Hi, it's me," I said, my voice catching in my throat. "Yeah, don't come today... No, don't. Bye."
Avery's jaw dropped, her eyes widening in disbelief. "What the hell was that, why?!" she screamed, her frustration boiling over. She pulled at her hair in exasperation, her voice tinged with desperation. "You're not thinking straight!! The show is in 3 days! Come on! Once this is over, you'll find someone else if you're so scared of falling for him."
"Falling? What do... You think I love him?" I stammered, my words trailing off as I tried to make sense of my own feelings.
"You definitely love each other," Avery stated matter-of-factly, her tone unwavering. "You're both two dumb fuckers. Call him to come to rehearsals, for god's sake, I'm out."
"W-wait, Avery!" I shouted, but she was already gone, her footsteps fading into the distance.
"Fuck, it even started raining!" she screamed from the porch, her words carried away by the wind as she drove away.
I sigh in frustration as I collapse onto the plush couch, my weary eyes scanning the ominous clouds looming outside the window. With a heavy heart, I receive a notification alert on my phone, urging me to stay indoors due to an impending danger and an imminent rainstorm. The familiar sense of dread washes over me, and I can't help but mutter a resigned exclamation under my breath, "God... not again."
I pull the notification bar down, revealing a series of alerts detailing the severity of the situation. Flash flood warnings, gusty winds, and potential power outages are mentioned, intensifying my sense of unease. With a deep breath, I rise from the couch, my footsteps heavy as I move towards the window to get a better view of the darkening sky.
The atmosphere outside grows ominous, the clouds swirling in a chaotic dance, painting the sky with shades of deep gray. The wind starts to howl, rattling the windows as if nature itself is echoing my inner turmoil. I glance around the room, contemplating my options. The dimming light emphasizes the urgency of the situation, urging me to make a decision.
Taking a moment to gather my thoughts, I quickly assess the supplies in my home – candles, emergency rations, and a flashlight. I grab them, creating a makeshift emergency kit, hoping it will be enough to tide me over if the storm takes a turn for the worse. As I secure the windows and doors, I can't shake off the feeling of vulnerability, a reminder of the unpredictable nature of life.
I return to the couch, clutching the emergency kit tightly, and stare out of the window once more. Raindrops splatter against the glass, blurring the world into a surreal painting of water and shadows.
I make myself some hot coco and before the power is out, which will probably be by the night, I turn on the TV to watch Brooklyn 99 and put a nice comfy blanket.
My heart pounds in my chest, the echoes of the thunderstorm still reverberating through the air as I try to calm my racing thoughts. The glow from the TV screen illuminates the room, casting eerie shadows on the walls. Just as I start to regain a semblance of composure, the knocks on the door pierce the silence like a gunshot. I jump, my breath catching in my throat, and I shoot a fearful glance towards the entrance, my mind racing with possibilities.
"Fuck..." I mutter under my breath, hesitating before the door. I entertain the fleeting hope that whoever it is might just go away, but my hopes are dashed when another round of four loud knocks reverberates through the house, each one intensifying my anxiety. The situation feels surreal, the storm outside mirroring the turmoil within me.
My hands tremble as I reach for the doorknob, my heart pounding in my ears. Then, amidst the chaos of the storm, a familiar shout cuts through the air, calling my name. "BRI. IT’S ME… OPEN." The sound of his voice sends a mixture of relief and concern washing over me. Without a second thought, I throw the door open, my eyes widening in surprise at the sight before me.
There stands Jungkook, drenched from head to toe, his clothes clinging to him like a second skin. I try to push away the distracting thoughts about his perfect abs and body, focusing on the immediate concern. "Get in the house; you're shivering," I say urgently, my hand reaching out to pull him inside. His shivering intensifies, and I can't help but worry about his well-being.
"Fuck—let me get—"
"Bri."
"Let me get towels and clothes and—"
"Bri." He stops me, his eyes locking onto mine with a depth of concern that sends a shiver down my spine.
"I—" I start to protest, but his worry silences me. I nod, my determination to help him overpowering any embarrassment. "Let me grab you something. Please. I don't want you to be sick." I manage to tear my gaze away from his intense eyes and hurriedly make my way towards the closet, pretending not to notice his actions as he starts to undress behind me, though my cheeks burn with an undeniable awareness.
As I fumble through my closet, my hands search for something that might fit Jungkook. Finally, I pull out an oversized T-shirt and a pair of sweats that used to be snug on me when I was a bit chubbier. I hold my breath, hoping against hope that they'll fit him. I mutter a silent prayer under my breath, my fingers crossed as I bring the clothes to him.
"Here," I say, my voice a little shaky, trying my best not to meet his gaze directly, feeling the weight of his presence in the room.
"Thanks," he replies, his voice carrying a mix of gratitude and amusement as he accepts the towel and the clothes. After he dries himself, he starts to dress, and a soft laugh escapes his lips. "They're a bit... tight."
"I—yeah, I don't have anything else—" I stammer, my cheeks flushing with embarrassment. My eyes dart away, not wanting to acknowledge the situation, even though his laughter is contagious.
"Bri," he says, his tone serious now, his laughter fading away. "I can't believe you told me I shouldn't come... I wanted to speak to you in person.”
His words hang heavily in the air, and I feel my heart skip a beat. I struggle to find the right words, my emotions in turmoil. "Jungkook... look, it's—" I start, my voice cracking with a mix of vulnerability and affection, wanting desperately to express what I feel but not sure how to articulate it.
"It's complicated," I finally manage to say, my voice barely audible over the distant rumble of thunder. I glance up, meeting Jungkook's eyes, searching for understanding. "I've been through so much, and I'm afraid... afraid of getting hurt again."
Jungkook's expression softens, his eyes reflecting empathy and sincerity. He takes a step closer, his hand reaching out to gently cup my cheek, his touch warm and reassuring. "Bri, I understand. I know it won't be easy, but I'm willing to try if you are. We can face the challenges together."
His words hang in the air, a silent promise that sparks a glimmer of hope within me. I find myself leaning into his touch, craving the comfort he offers. The storm outside mirrors the turbulence within my heart, but in this moment, Jungkook's presence provides a sense of calm amidst the chaos. “I thought we talked about this this morning. You were so committed-“
"I... I don't know. But all i know is i don’t want to lose you." I admit, my voice barely above a whisper, my eyes locked onto his. The vulnerability in his gaze resonates with my own fears and insecurities, creating a connection that goes beyond words.
He leans closer, and closer, and closer,
before I know, his lips meet me in a moment of sweet surrender, Jungkook's touch is gentle yet firm as he cups my face, his fingers warm against my skin. I close my eyes, savoring the softness of his lips, the taste of him like a bittersweet melody. His kiss is tender, a silent promise of affection and understanding.
A rush of emotions floods over me—desire, vulnerability, and a profound sense of connection. The air crackles with electricity, the charged atmosphere intensifying the intimacy of the moment. My fingers find their way into his soft hair, tangling in the strands as I pull him closer, deepening the kiss.
Jungkook responds with a soft sigh, his lips parting slightly, inviting me in. Our tongues meet in a slow, sensual dance, exploring each other with a hunger that transcends words. The kiss deepens, becoming a passionate exchange of emotions and desires, a silent conversation that speaks volumes.
I can feel the steady beat of Jungkook's heart against my chest, matching the rhythm of my own pulse. The world outside may be in chaos, but in this moment, there is only us—two souls intertwined in a kiss that feels like coming home. Time seems to stretch, the kiss becoming an eternity, a stolen moment of bliss that leaves us both breathless and wanting more.
When we finally pull away, our breaths mingling in the air.
In the dimness that followed the abrupt power outage, Jungkook's voice cut through the sudden silence, his words trailing off in the darkness. "I'm sorry if-" he began, but the sentence hung in the air, abruptly interrupted by the blackout.
A frustrated groan escaped my lips as I fumbled in the dark, desperately searching for my phone. "Fuck," I muttered, realizing the futility of the attempt.
“Bri, where are you?" Jungkook called out, his voice tense in the darkness.
My hands reached out, seeking his in the pitch-black void. "I'm looking for my phone. It should be here somewhere," I explained, patting the couch in vain.
"Can you give me your phone?" I asked, hoping for a glimmer of light to guide us through the oppressive darkness.
"I forgot it at home," he admitted with a nonchalant shrug, his voice carrying a hint of defensiveness. "I rushed here! It's your fault!" he defended himself.
"How could you just leave without it?" I questioned, genuine disbelief coloring my tone. The realization that we were stranded without any source of light intensified the surreal nature of the situation. A deafening thunderclap reverberated through the house, adding an extra layer of tension to the already charged atmosphere. "Fuck, that was a big one," I remarked, my nerves on edge.
Finally, Jungkook's hands found mine, and he grasped my hand firmly, ensuring we moved in the same direction. The house enveloped us in impenetrable darkness, and my thoughts raced, thinking how we just kissed but we act like nothing happend.
Breaking the uneasy silence, I suggested, "My iPad is in my room. Let's get there to have some light."
"Don't you have flashlights?" Jungkook inquired, his grip on my hand tightening, revealing a touch of vulnerability.
"I took them out about an hour ago, but I have no idea where I put them," I admitted with a sigh, frustration lacing my words.
"Damn, Bri," Jungkook sighed, a subtle chuckle escaping him.
"Hey, you left your phone at home," I retorted, a laugh bubbling up in response to the irony of our predicament.
“Lead the way then,” Jungkook sighed, and we navigated cautiously through the darkness, the air thick with tension. Suddenly, a soft bump resonated through the space, and I winced. “Be careful,” he urged, his hands now assisting me in ascending the stairs.
Reaching the second floor, I extended my arms, feeling for familiar surroundings. The second floor has my room, a guest bathroom, my parent’s room and a guest room. Mine is right next to the stairs.
"Here," I announced, finding my bedroom door. Inside, my fingers fumbled on the nightstand, searching for my iPad. "Damn it, I forgot to charge it. It only has 10%," I exclaimed in frustration. When I looked up, Jungkook's big doe eyes met mine, and I felt a strange warmth despite the chilly darkness.
"I can't believe it," he mumbled, plopping on the bed and reaching for the iPad to illuminate the room.
"I don't really use it," I defended myself.
"Good excuse," he teased, scanning the room with the makeshift light. His attention shifted to a framed photo on my dresser. "That's you?" he asked, pointing to a picture with me and Avery.
I nodded, picking up the photo. "Yeah, next to me is Avery."
He wore an impressed expression. "You sure had a glow-up. How old is this?"
"Like five years ago?" I guessed, placing the photo back on the nightstand.
"And you're..." I realized I hadn't shared my age.
"20," I quickly added, feeling a sudden twinge of self-consciousness.
"Aw, you were just 15," he smiled, studying my face.
"Yeah, and ugly and dumb," I self-deprecated.
"Hey! Don't say that! Now you're just not ugly," he teased, his characteristic smirk on full display.
"What the hell?" I playfully pushed him, and he burst into laughter.
"I'm kidding, I'm kidding," he reassured, still chuckling.
"Sure," I sighed, opening the wardrobe to grab a hoodie. The room seemed to grow colder, prompting me to put it on.
"You cold?" He asked, looking over at me.
"A bit," I admitted, biting my lip.
“Damn.” Jungkook muttered, his gaze lingering on me as I pulled the hoodie over my head. The dim light from the iPad cast subtle shadows on his face, emphasizing the uncertainty in his expression.
I caught the hint of something unspoken in the air, prompting me to break the silence. “What’s going on in that head of yours?” I asked, trying to lighten the mood. I sit next to him now laying down, covering myself in the blanket.
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Just thinking about how crazy tonight has been. I mean, I came here on a storm, we went from a blackout to searching for an iPad in the dark.”
I chuckled, the tension easing a bit. “Yeah, it’s been quite the adventure.”
He lays down next to me.
His eyes met mine, a flicker of something more intense passing between us. “And there’s that,” he added, his voice softer now.
“What do you mean?” I inquired, sensing a shift in the atmosphere. Moving myself completely to face him.
“You know,” he started, choosing his words carefully. “The kiss. It happened, and now we’re here in the dark, and it’s like it never did.”
I felt my cheeks warm, the memory of our unexpected kiss replaying in my mind. “Yeah, about that,” I began, unsure where the conversation would lead.
He cut me off with a gentle smile. “I’m not complaining. Just trying to wrap my head around it.”
“Do you wan-“ He cuts me off.
.“I don’t know. Do you want to play 20 Questions or something to pass the time.” He seems very agitated.
“Sure, why not?” I agreed, eager to divert our thoughts. I try to not show how i really feel about just getting over the kiss subject.
“Okay, first question: Where did you grow up?”
His expression shifted momentarily, a flicker of hesitation crossing his features. “Seoul,” he replied vaguely, not offering more details. “You?” He asks curiously.
“Brooklyn.” I sensed his reluctance to delve into the topic, so I changed course. “My parents actually moved to another state a while ago. It’s been strange not having them around.”
Jungkook looked genuinely interested. “Really? Why’d they move?”
“Work,” I explained. “They found better opportunities, and I guess they wanted a change of scenery. It’s just me here now.”
His eyes softened with understanding, and I could tell he wanted to ask more.
Instead, I diverted the conversation to his parents.
“And your folks? What about them?”
I noticed a subtle shift in his demeanor, a guardedness that hadn’t been there before
“They’re around,” he replied vaguely, avoiding eye contact.
I sensed his reluctance and decided not to press further. “Fair enough.
“I’ve been wondering about Ander- If you wanna talk about it. Like how’d you two met and how did you start a freaking band?” He asks, his eyes searching for mine.
“Ander’s been my friend since high school. We both had this crazy obsession with old music, and we bonded over that,” she began, a nostalgic smile playing on her lips. “He initiated that we should make a ‘band,’ and I’d be the lead singer while he’d be the guitarist. He was really talented, playing all day in school, driving teachers crazy. He’s still good, but, you know, people change who they are, not their capabilities.”
Jungkook, his eyes reflecting genuine interest, listened carefully to her story. Brianna, embracing the newfound openness between them, decided to steer the conversation toward Jungkook’s passions.
“Let’s get over that topic,” she chuckled, nudging him playfully. “Tell me, aside from music, what are your other passions or hobbies?”
Jungkook, a plushie of a cat in hand, smiled as he confessed, “Well, I’m into photography.”
“Really?” Brianna’s curiosity sparked, and she straightened on the bed.
“Yeah, I like capturing moments, you know? I’d love to take pictures of you one day,” he said, his smile accompanied by a playful wink.
“If I let you,” she replied, giggling. “Have you ever traveled outside of the US?”
“Yeah, um, I went to almost every country in europe with my family, we stayed like 2 days in each for the summer break when i was in 11th grade. I loved Santorini.”
“Wow. Impressive. So you’re rich rich.” she elbows him. Actually, she was so much impressed than she showed him.
“My parents are, yeah, not me.” He corrects, modesty in his tone.
“Yeah but-“ I got cut off by him again.“You? Have you traveled?”
“Only in some states where i have my aunts or uncles.” I pout and get jealous of how much he’s seen.
“If you could change one decision from your past, what would it be and why?” I ask.
Jungkook paused, then confessed, “I think there’s a part of me that wishes I had pursued music more passionately from the beginning. I held back a bit out of fear.”
I remain silent as I take the cat from
his hand.
“What’s your biggest dream, Brianna?” Jungkook now looks at the cat but his eyes shift to mine, looking for truth.
“To make people feel connected to my music, to make people feel happy, feel sad, party to it, cry to it, to have thousands of people coming to watch me sing for them.”
“Well i’ll tell you a secret, i’m from the future and what you said it’s gonna happen.”
“Come on.” I laugh and punch his arm lightly. “Ok now me again.” I pause and think. “If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?”
“Such a “What to ask on a first date” from Wikihow or Buzz Feed kind of stuff question.”
“Fuck off!” they laughed, playful shoves exchanged. “Tell me!” I keep pushing him.
“Ok ok, Elvis Presley. I absolutely adore that man’s music.”
I nod, trying to find someone I’d go to dinner with. “I’d go with Freddy Mercury”
He looks at the ipad that now has
1% “Good choice. Hey, this is about to die.”
“We also don’t have internet connection or signal to see when we’ll get the power back.”
I sigh. Does that mean he’s gonna spend the night? I question myself.
“So lucky of us.” I sigh and look at him
again.
“Yeah.” he shrugs and when the Ipad finally ends it life, we stay in the darkness.
"I'm so bored," Jungkook announces, his voice echoing the monotony of the dark room.
"What's your body count?" I blurt out, surprising even myself with the sudden boldness.
"Damn, straight forward, huh?" he giggles, the dimness concealing the sly grin on his face. "I don't know, I don't count them."
"Approximately. Like you gotta know," I insist, pushing for a hint of revelation.
"I really don't know. You tell me," he challenges, turning the tables on me.
"I'm not telling you," I assert, maintaining a semblance of mystery.
"Why should I then?" he counters, his playful defiance hanging in the air.
"Fair," I sigh, but just as the silence begins to settle, Jungkook decides to unravel a bit of his own mystery. "It's around 15."
Leaning in, I tease, "Oh, I expected much more."
"Do I look like such a fuckboy? Don't answer that," he injects, his tone suddenly serious, only to be met with an eruption of laughter from me. He continues: "Even 15 is much. I wish it was like 2 or 3."
"Yeah, it may not be the best number, but still better than a lot of guys. Mine is 2," I confesses, revealing a surprising layer of vulnerability.
"Boyfriends?" He inquires, sensing there might be more to this story.
"Myeah," I acknowledge with a casual nod.
"I see. Have you ever… had anything with Ander?" Jungkook probes, curious about the dynamics between us.
"Hell no," I asserts "Well, he tried many times, but I friendzoned him until he got over and started liking other girls. He also tried to kiss me but nothing more. If he tried anything else… well, let's just say I'd be singing alone all the time."
"I see," He respond, the room now buzzing with a different energy, laughter and revelations dancing in the dimness. He stays silent a bit before continues in a low voice: “Do you have kinks?”
My hand trembled slightly as I took a sip of water, trying to mask my surprise at Jungkook's unexpected turn in the conversation. His chuckle cut through the awkwardness like a lifeline, and he leaned back, a playful glint in his eyes.
"If you're going to ask me such a personal question, it's only fair I get to ask you one in return," he declared, raising an eyebrow as if challenging me.
"Only if you spill first," I countered, unwilling to let him off the hook.
"I asked first," he retorted, a small smirk playing on his lips.
"I don't care," I shot back, determination in my tone.
"Me neither," he sighed, his gaze holding mine in a playful standoff. The room fell into a sudden, uncomfortable silence, amplifying the sound of tree branches scraping against the house and the howling wind outside. It was still dark.
"When the iPad died, it was around 10 pm," I mumbled, my attempt to bridge the gap with a practical detail.
A wry smile played on Jungkook's lips, his eyes holding a mixture of amusement and curiosity. "And now? Any guesses?"
I shook my head, realizing the absurdity of trying to estimate time in the pitch-black darkness. "No idea. Feels like we've been here forever."
He chuckled, a sound that carried a subtle reassurance. "Time flies, especially when you're in the dark with someone interesting."
A playful smile tugged at the corners of my lips as I navigated the intriguing twists of our conversation. "So you think I'm interesting," I remarked, my smile lingering even though he couldn't see it.
He responded with a sly challenge, delving into a more personal territory. "I might think that if you tell me if you have kinks. I really think everyone does. I was thinking about it some time ago, discovered mine recently."
A mischievous idea crossed my mind. "If you tell me yours, I'll tell you mine."
"I don't want to; I asked first."
"And I don't care you asked first."
"Fuck, Brianna, what do I gotta do to make you say it?" he sighed, frustration evident as he let his head fall onto the pillow.
"Are you really that curious?" I teased, the dim room masking the playful glint in my eyes.
"Fuck yeah, now I am!" he exclaimed.
I pat his arm until I feel his hand, it was big, if you might add, and veiny, full of tattoos, even tho i couldnt see them, i knew they were there.
"You have a... hand kink?" He inquired, a hint of amusement in his voice.
"Well, if that's how you call it, then yes."
I confess.
"What exactly do you like about hands?" He now sounds serious and curious, like he really wants to know.
"They're hot. I just... they're hot," I admitted, and as his gaze met mine, I found myself captivated by the intensity in his eyes.
"Do you think mine are?" he whispered, a vulnerability underlying the question.
"Well, I do," I replied, almost hesitating. His hand found my waist, the warmth of his touch sending a shiver through me.
"What do you like, Jungkook?" I asked, the air between us charged with anticipation.
"Hmm, everything, especially you."
“W-what.” I whisper as he gets on top of me. I feel our bodies lean closer together, the heat between us rising with each breath. I run my fingers through Jungkook's hair, caressing his neck and tracing his shoulders. I draw him closer, his lips just moments away from meeting mine. Our lips finally meet, the passion finally released, our tongues mingling in an intimate dance. His hand squeezes mine, the other hand running down my body to my waist. I draw him closer, our bodies tangled intimately. I feel like I’m kissing him for the first time, even if I’m not.
Breaking the kiss, he looked into my eyes, both of us breathless. "Is this okay?" he asked, seeking affirmation for more than just the kiss.
"It's more than okay," I assured him.
"I really like you, Bri," he confessed, his hand gently caressing my face.
"I like you too," I finally admitted, and before he could say anything else, I pulled him into another deep kiss. Fingers entwined in his soft, fragrant hair, our connection deepening with each passing moment.
Suddenly, when everything was almost too perfect, we hear a loud beep, tv starts playing downstairs, the room now being all bright again, outside you couldn’t hear anything anymore. the storm has stopped. lucky us.
My heart raced as I pushed him away, the sudden intensity leaving an awkward tension in the room. "Now that's cringe," I mumbled, trying to diffuse the situation.
"Really?," he replied, a hint of amusement in his voice. He reached for my face, planting a small, lingering kiss on my swollen lips. Laughter escaped him, and confusion etched my features.
"W-what? Why are you laughing?" I stammered, feeling a surge of insecurity.
"Your cheeks, and nose, and forehead—you're blushing so hard," he chuckled. Before I could protest, he gently pushed me back onto the pillow, peppering my face with soft pecks.
"H-Hey!" I managed to utter between giggles, his kisses playfully tickling every inch of my blushing face. He finally stopped, getting up with a mischievous smile.
"Let's go downstairs," he suggested. I gathered myself, taking off my hoodie, revealing a simple tank top and sweatpants. As I left the room, the familiar sounds of a Brooklyn 99 episode echoed through the house. Retrieving my phone, I noticed a slew of messages and the late hour, now reaching 10 o'clock.
"It's late. I think I'll just leave now. When should I come for rehearsals? Also… I'll bring your clothes tomorrow," Jungkook said.
"No problem, maybe, uhh… like 1 pm?" I suggested, my newfound awkwardness betraying the earlier intensity.
"Right. I'll be there," he agreed. Cupping my face, he planted a final soft kiss on my lips. "Take care."
"You too," I replied, closing the door behind him. The weight of the moment lingered, and I couldn't help but reflect on the unexpected turn of events. Oh my god.

Prologue
After getting home you decided to eat dinner then go to bed, who knew that would make this all happen?
When you woke up you found yourself on a hot floor with people staring at you, and a demon?
“Hi, umm, where am I?” You asked before recognising them from art you had seen for Hells belles, ‘fuck that’s sharky, Lily and Bel’ you thought, “hi there..? What pray tell are you doing on the floor at the hellp desk?” Sharky piped up, “yeah what they asked” Bel says, Lily just stares at you, “ah, well about that… I don’t know why I’m here, or how I’m here, I think I died in my sleep-” you said after getting up, Lily looked at you in thought, “did you go through and get judgment done by your belief system?” Lily asked, “I don’t think I have… maybe I should go to the front deathsk, actually let me see if I can bring up my file beforehand” you say thoughtfully, you try to bring out your file but it doesn’t work, “I’ll take you to the front deathsk, but before that, I’m Lily, the one in the shark onesie is Sharky who’s non binary, and this huge hunk of a demon is Belleth my boyfriend, now let’s get to the front deathsk” she said before taking you up to the front deathsk.
Once you got there you both waited in line for like five minutes, “hey Lil’s! What you need?” The receptionist asked with a small smile, “I’m here to get a file for a soul that showed up at the help desk without coming here getting one beforehand” Lily explained, “oh! Yeah I’ll get that sorted now!” The receptionist said cheerfully, the receptionist materialised your files then flicked through them quickly to check where you belonged, “hey Lily, are you sure that they belong in the afterlife? Because all their file says is: Name: Grace, Age: N/A and she/her, also there’s a cause of death and like 2 pages of why they should be only in paradise… not to mention their death doesn’t make sense, it just says N/A” the receptionist says puzzled, “huh, well at least we know they don’t belong in hell!” Lily says, “well umm, Lily can I come back to the Hellp desk with you?” You ask while you both walk away from the front deathsk, “if you want to sure, but just be warned that many types of people will show up…” Lily says leading you back to the Hellp desk, “that’s fine with me” you reply.
Well I hope you enjoyed! Please tell me if you would like to be tagged when I post the next chapter! Bye~

About Letting Go and Why We Never Get Used to It
Talking about letting go, isn't it something we do every day? We let go of today and move on to tomorrow. We let go of every minute, every hour that passes, and things will never be exactly the same again. I’ve recently been thinking about how I've been letting go of so many things in my life, but I'm still not used to it.
My friend recently broke up with her boyfriend of 1 year, and she's in a really bad state. Honestly, talking to her (through text), trying to cheer her up made me realise that letting go is never easy, even though it's something we do in our everyday lives. When I went through a breakup in the past, I was very sad, disappointed, and disorientated too, for almost a month. But the funny thing about letting go of a romantic relationship is that when you’re going through it, it's so hard, like you'll never see the light at the end of the tunnel. Then one day, you can suddenly wake up and feel so much better. You suddenly let go just like that, and you'll get to the point where you laugh at yourself for crying over a relationship that wasn't meant to be. Anyway, we let go of so many things in life, not just romantic relationships. Friendships, TV series, books, people who are no longer in our lives, there are so many things I let go of. Yet I still cry every time I know I have to let go of my favourite series, my favourite books, my favourite people. I cry every time I need to close a chapter.
Even though I let go of things daily, the process doesn’t get any easier. There’s an emotional impact each time I say goodbye to something I hold so dear. Whether it’s a K-drama, a J-drama, a series on Netflix, a crime documentary that has come to an end or discontinued, a beloved book that I’ve finished, or a relationship that has run its course, the sense of loss is overwhelming for me. It’s as if each ending takes a small piece of me with it, leaving me to deal with the void it leaves behind. I'm not lying when I say I went through the five stages of grief when I had to let go of my favourite series and books, let alone people.
But I guess it's okay to cry and feel the weight of these endings, right? Tears are a proof of the depth of the connections and the significance these experiences and people had in my life. They remind me that I'm capable of deep feelings and meaningful bonds. Not everything is without an end, after all. Maybe the endings are what make them stay as beautiful memories for me.
I’ve found that, in time, I can find comfort in the new beginnings that come with every ending. Each closed chapter makes room for new stories to be written, new experiences to be had, and new relationships to be formed. Letting go is not about erasing the past (we will never forget what has happened or forget the memories we once made with our favourite things and people unless we had amnesia) but about embracing the future, bringing the lessons and memories that shape who we are forward. So, I hope I'll always find strength to let go and have courage to face new beginnings.
Again it's a random post because I haven’t been feeling ok these days, and writing things randomly like this help me cope. ANW, bye, it's almost 2 AM here and I need to sleep because I have an appointment for my car service tomorrow morning :(

5/1/23
New month. Geez, this year is flying bye, huh.
I had the whole waking up every couple hours thing again, even with the earplugs which work quite well. I don't think it was nightmares either, I don't remember though. I did get back to sleep every time, so no real complaints.
I did a very long yoga routine this morning, almost 40 minutes. I was pretty proud of that. I'm actually getting in pretty good shape considering I'm not really doing any other consistent exercise other than morning yoga every day. Adding in regular skating and walking will definitely get me in good shape.
I am... however... I honestly don't even really know how to describe this... I'm having weird pains all over my body. It's been going on for a while now, but it's been getting really strong lately. That whole panic scare with the deep pain in my inner thigh was the same kind of pain... ish... and probably the most severe. Today it's been the lower back by my spine, and the outside of my hips, and my adductors in my inner thighs. And my forearm. It's muscle pain, I guarantee it. But it's not sore. Not like sore used to be. It feels like... electric, kinda, or like the feeling when someone grabs a bunch of your skin and pinches it really hard? So like, not like a sharp pinch, but like a blunt pinch. I have no idea if that makes sense. The notable part about it is how uncomfortable and intense it is.
I tried using my desk as a standing desk for a bit today and it did help, I think. I've been really afraid of being too sedentary lately, so spending half of my work day standing at my desk and dancing to 80s music helped with that.
I've been watching this big transition that's happening where a bunch of RPers are flooding over to IgniteRP, a new and kinda game-changing GTA V RP server that's set in 1985. It was created with the intention of making a very different environment than the min-maxed memey shit going on on NoPixel... It's been really good so far. Though it does have a lot of glaring problems and a lot of work left to be done.
I watched like 9 hours of it today while I worked on another abstract ink drawing. I hope to have that one finished by tomorrow night so I'll hopefully post it then.
Hearing them talk behind the scenes about what's going on with the server, it made me really want to apply myself to getting into 3D modeling. I fucked around with SketchUp like 10 years ago a bunch, like... making recreations of my apartment at the time and everything. I am very detail oriented. But again, I don't know shit about all this. But I guarantee I could learn in Blender for free. And I can cram and learn really quick. And I have an actual art background to back that up, so... doing custom graphics and shit? And applying them to 3D models? Once I get the 3D shit under my belt, I could pull that off. If I wanted. And there's good money in that. And these guys would be constantly looking for good custom shit. I just, again, have no proof of concept... and no real knowledge in the field. But it's something in great need, if I want to go that route, especially if I can give them a good deal.
I've been really tempted to get into RP. I would fucking love it, it's really good social practice and social interaction. I really enjoyed it when I was playing my character Raymond Holmes on TwitchRP. I just... well... I got a bit too emotionally attached to my first character, which I would need to work on. But the big thing is... I don't want to be loud. I don't feel like I can. I feel like I'll be whispering the whole time, and that wouldn't do my performance justice. It worked at my old house because I could be as loud as I wanted. Here? I've got lots of neighbors. Here, I feel bad if I sing at a normal speaking volume in the shower, with music playing along. Not sure how much of that is anxiety and how much is just being a good neighbor.
So yeah, that was pretty much the entire day. Watching RP, drawing, making and eating 3 baked potatoes with butter, habanero jack cheese and scallions. Drawing more. Then... here I am.
Not much else to say there. XD Still kinda riding the post-project-completion lull. Instagram was devastatingly anti-climactic. Next piece is going to be my hoodie, most likely, but I might try to polish a few of the stones from the other day first. And I also have had the impulse to go paint wooden beads again, so I might... I might throw a batch in a jar and dye them. Like 20 or 30 of them. Just so I have some with a base coat on them, then I can add ornamentation after. Aaaand there's also the skull to do, too...
I have no idea why I keep putting the hoodie off, maybe because of the "finality" of it, or maybe the visibility of it. Maybe because the rest of the back piece looks so damn good, I don't want to "ruin" it. I dunno. I kinda left off with... doing research on the zodiac constellations. I have the 12 signs plotted out and properly aligned, I have spaces that will serve as the houses, too. The signs are essentially a wide ring around the entire backpiece, and inside each wedge I wanted to put the glyph for each zodiac sign, and the actual constellation. Everything but the actual written name of the signs. Then I'm going to superimpose the planet alignments after, but I haven't even gotten that far. So... that's kinda where I am with it. So I just need to do some research on how I want to do the constellations, and then do some sketches, then... I'm guessing black out pretty much the entire zodiac ring? Or I could leave it hoodie color, because the hoodie is black? Not sure... And then I can just do the stars in white or silver. Maybe do a low-opacity glyph in the back with the constellation on top? That could be cool.
So yeah, lots of ideas, but the abstract ink shit has been calling me the strongest so I've been answering that call. It's very therapeutic, and really good hand exercise for longer drawing sessions.
I'm off to bed, we'll see what inspiration calls for tomorrow.

tags are number one. i've said it before n i will say it again !!!!! tags !!!!! u need them !!!! as many as u can !!!!!! people can't see your work unless u use tags so use a bunch and use the most popular ones you can that still pertain to your work !!!!!!
also, i've seen a lot of people talk to other writers and try to get them to read over their work when they post it and honestly, that may work too !! i, personally, wouldn't know because i was too much of a pussy to message any other writers on here when i was first starting out (and still now) but honestly it wouldn't hurt to message some people to try to get them to give you feedback on your work !!!
also reblogging your work throughout the day helps sometimes too since time zones are a thing and some people probably wouldn't have saw your work if you posted at a certain time but if you reblog a few times during the day or even through the week you can make sure that whoever was gonna see your work is Gonna See It.
this is kind of all my brain will allow me to say but !!!!! good luck !!!!! i'm excited for your journey and i hope you have fun!!!!!! main point is just have fun !!!!!!!! (and tag ur work heavily) enjoy yourself and what u post !!!! always 😌

AT LEAST) out there who will enjoy your work as much as you do !!!!#so don't stress about it. just have fun and do what u want 😌#everything in reality is fake anyways u got this !!!!!#also sorry if half of this doesn't make sense :D all my Word Make Sense juice went into that fuckin essay#and now i can't string together coherent thoughts 😐 she dumb or whateva#also djdjjdjd me: enjoy what u post#me as well: disliking half the things i posted through the years#NDKFNKDNFJFJ bye my excuse is i was Younger then#and i have more insight now than i did before#so basically not a good excuse BEJFBJFNFJFJ bye i'm 😐🤚🏼 i need to go to sleep#I HOPE THIS HELPED THOUGH !!! ❝ please picture me in the trees. i hit my peak at seven feet. in the swing, over the creek. i was too scared to jump in. ❞
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
You hadn’t meant to fall asleep on the roof.
When you went up there, it was just to get away from everything going on downstairs in your apartment, like usual. But this time you had fallen asleep, and that wasn’t even the embarrassing part of it all.
The embarrassing part was the fact that it was a random guy tapping your shoulder that woke you up. You were almost too mortified to open your eyes because you knew that he probably thought you were some random girl that drunkenly wandered up there and passed out in one of the rusty old lawn chairs that were scattered on the roof, even though you were quite literally the opposite.
“Hey, are you okay?” He asked, and through his brown eyes, you could tell that he actually seemed concerned about you.
You rubbed the tiredness out of your eyes and noticed how the sky looked, a soft orange covering the city, which indicated that the sun was about to rise. You pulled your phone out of the pocket of the hoodie you were wearing that had your college’s name written across it and checked the time; 6:07 a.m. You were actually surprised you had been up there for almost six hours and had not woken up once. But, it also did make sense because of how exhausted you had been lately.
“I’m fine,” You ultimately responded to the guy. “I didn’t mean to fall asleep up here.”
He nodded at that, and you stood up from the lawn chair, scanning the area around you to see if there was something you may have dropped while you’d been sleeping. You knew you didn’t bring anything up there with you besides your phone and keys because of how quickly you had been rushing out of your apartment, but it was a habit of yours to always see if there was something left behind.
You thought about what the next few minutes of your life would entail. You needed to head back to the apartment, mainly to get a few more hours of sleep before heading to your shift at the bookstore you now worked at. And your dad was probably fast asleep on the couch, so it would be easy for you to walk in without interacting with him, which was a big win in your book.
A part of you silently wondered what the guy you sort of just met was doing on the roof right then, but you decided not to ask. If a person was up there that early it was probably because they wanted to make sure they were alone, it was the same way you had felt last night.
“Well,” You started, grabbing the guy’s attention. Your hand lifted in a quick wave before you began heading to the door that led back into the apartment building. “Bye.”
He gave you a small smile and waved back, and nothing more was said as you made your way inside.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
❝ sweet tea in the summer. cross my heart, won't tell no other. and though i can't recall your face. i still got love for you. ❞
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
When you were younger, you loved the summertime. However, now, you kind of hated it. Because it meant that you were stuck in New York, specifically stuck with your dad, for nearly four months until the Fall semester started.
You had tried to do anything to not have to go back home during the summer, searching for an internship or study abroad program that was anywhere but New York. However, when you were rejected from every internship you applied for, and the scholarship you were given wasn’t enough to allow you to study abroad, you ended up back at the place that back in high school, you had been so desperate to leave.
However, the one thing you still loved about the summer was the weather, and that aspect of it especially benefited you right then because you had once again fallen asleep on the roof of the apartment building.
That night, you were in your room when you heard the front door slam shut, and you knew that you had to get out before things took a turn for the worst, as they always did with your dad, and you were smart enough now to know how to avoid him when he got in one of his drunken, hostile moods.
After you slipped on a hoodie and put your keys and cellphone into the pocket of the sweatpants you were wearing, you successfully managed to step out of the front door without your dad noticing you.
Many moments later, after grabbing a sandwich from the bodega down the street before they closed, you found yourself up on the roof, the only place that felt like a solid and secure form of refuge for you now.
You had been away from it all, your dad and the turmoil he created, for so long since you were at school that it wasn’t enough anymore to just lock your door and pretend that you didn’t hear his angry words directed at whoever was on the other end of a phone call, or the sounds of furniture crashing around in the living room before he got tired and passed out.
You needed to get away from all of that because hearing that now only made you remember how often you used to cry yourself to sleep because you were scared shitless that his anger would turn toward you, and you weren’t entirely sure what he was capable of if that were to happen.
It wasn’t even surprising to you that you fell asleep on the roof again. In fact, you were planning on it because you set an alarm for three in the morning so that you could head back to the apartment when you knew things would be calm.
However, you must have subconsciously turned it off when it started ringing at three because it was a tap on your shoulder that woke you up instead of the incessant noise of your alarm.
“Jesus Christ,” You said when you opened your eyes, and it was the same brown-haired guy from before. You could only wonder what he thought of you at this point. “Hey, again.”
“Hi, sorry for startling you,” He said. “I wasn’t gonna wake you up again because I thought it would seem really weird that this is happening the second time this week. But, apparently, it’s supposed to rain soon, and I’d feel bad if I let you get woken up like that.”
You took note of the dark clouds above your head and nodded at his words. “Thanks. And I really mean that. Rain would’ve been the shittiest wake-up call.”
You checked your phone, and it was once again six in the morning. “Are you always up here this early?”
The guy almost laughed at that. “I could ask you a very similar question.”
“Well, then it’s a good thing I asked mine first,” You said, knowing that he couldn’t rebuttal that statement.
He thought about your previous question for a few moments before ultimately shrugging. “I just like it up here, especially in the mornings. It’s always quiet, and it’s nice to see the sunrise, even though today’s not the best sunrise weather.”
You couldn’t help but smile at how simplistic his answer was; you wished your reasoning was as easy as that.
“So, why did you fall asleep up here again?”
There was no way that you could, and would, tell him the truth about why you’d fallen asleep up there again, even if you hadn’t heard his easygoing response as to why he was currently up there. It was embarrassing to talk about your dad and how horrible he was sometimes, which was the cause of why you headed to the roof more often than not.
As you opened your mouth to let some sort of a lie fall out, your phone began ringing. It was a very “saved by the bell” kind of moment, and you were quite grateful for it. You pulled out your phone and saw that it was Sarah, the owner of the small used bookstore that you were working at for the summer. The job didn’t allow you to leave New York as you wanted from an internship or study abroad program, but it still kept you busy, and you actually didn’t mind it.
“Hi, Y/N, good morning. Joan is having some issues with her kid; I think they’re sick or something, I don’t know. But, anyway, she can’t open the shop today. Can you do it?” Sarah asked, speaking fast as she did so. It was something that you came to learn was not at all out of the ordinary for her. “I know it’s only an hour's notice, so it’s completely okay if you can’t, but I still thought I’d ask.”
You liked Sarah, she was a thirty-something-year-old woman who inherited the used bookstore from her grandmother, and you could tell she truly cared about the place.
“Yes, I can. I’ll be there,” You told her, mainly because it gave you a reason to leave the guy in front of you and not have to answer his question or any others that would come up.
“That’s great! You’re the best,” Sarah responded, and you could practically hear the smile in her voice. “The dry cleaners next door have a spare key, so you can use that to get in. I’ll let them know you’re gonna be coming for it.”
“Okay,” You said, nodding along even though she couldn’t see you. “I’ll text you when I’m in the shop.”
“Sounds great. Talk to you later.”
“Yup, bye.” You hung up and placed your phone back in your pocket.
You looked over at the brown-haired guy; his attention was pulled elsewhere as he stood at the edge of the roof and looked down at the street.
“I have to go again,” You spoke loud enough to grab his attention. You knew that you could have just left, and he probably wouldn’t have noticed for a bit, but something about that felt wrong and a little mean, and even though you really didn’t want to talk to him, you also didn’t want to be an asshole.
He nodded his head at your previous words. “See you later.”
“Yeah, see you around,” You said, although you sincerely hoped that you would never see him again because you knew that the situation would only cause you embarrassment like the past two incidents did.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
❝ i think your house is haunted. your dad is always mad and that must be why. ❞
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
Maybe the universe truly enjoyed seeing you suffer.
That was the only explanation that you could think of to possibly explain why you were once again seeing the guy from the roof.
The random meeting surprisingly did not occur up there this time, you had actually been actively avoiding the roof for the past few weeks, and when you couldn’t avoid it, you made sure to leave long before sunrise. Instead, it was the bookstore where you saw him again. Well, technically, he saw you first because when you heard the words, “Holy crap,” not so subtly muttered out, that caused you to look up from where you were behind the front counter and see him.
“Wow,” You said, but internally so he couldn’t hear your surprise, but he could probably read it clearly on your face.
“Roof girl,” He greeted you as he walked up to the counter.
“Alarm clock guy,” You greeted back and offered him a small smile, having the smile mask your current confusion.
He almost laughed at that nickname. “I swear this is purely accidental.”
“Okay,” You said, still feeling slightly hesitant, though, because this all felt way too insane to be just a simple coincidence. “Anyway, do you need help finding something specific, or are you just looking around?”
The guy quickly began nodding his head. “Yeah, I need GED study books. I called yesterday, and someone said you had some here.”
You thought about his words for a few moments. Yesterday was your only day off that week, so maybe this abrupt meeting was truly just a weird coincidence.
“Yeah, we do have some. Follow me,” You told him and then moved from behind the counter. He was a few steps behind you as you began bobbing and maneuvering between the tight aisles until you got to the one you needed.
The study books were both a small section and one that no one would often venture into. Mainly because nobody wanted to buy an SAT or ACT study book from nearly ten years ago; everything about the tests had probably changed by now.
You grabbed the three books that were for GED practice off the shelf and handed them to him.
He flipped through a few of the pages of the one on top of the stack and then looked up at you. “Thanks.”
You nodded your head and lifted your shoulders in a slight shrug. “Yeah, no problem. And you can take them for free. I’m sure they’ve been sitting on the shelves for years.”
“You don’t have to do that.”
“I know, but it’s fine. Honestly.”
“I’m Peter, by the way,” He told you, and you studied his face for a brief second, wondering if you would’ve guessed his name was that before he said it. “After all the times we’ve kinda “run” into each other, is it weird that we don’t know each other’s names?”
You didn’t think it was weird at all, mainly because every time you saw him, you wanted to avoid it from happening again. But you didn’t want to say that out loud, especially to the guy you now formally knew as Peter.
“I’m Y/N,” You said instead and offered a small smile.
Your eyes wandered to the spine of the other books in the aisle, scanning the various titles, most of them foreign to you. Some of the names stood out to you, and you took a mental note to check them out later when it was once again empty in the shop.
Silently, you wondered why Peter was still there in the bookstore, now also looking at random books as you were. The transaction was seemingly over, he got the books he came for, and you gave them to him. So, what was he sticking around for?
“Okay,” His voice broke through your thoughts and the prevailing silence, and you looked at him. “This might sound slightly offensive, and I’m sorry if it is, but I have to ask. Do you live there?”
You bit back the laughter that was threatening to fall from your lips. “No, I don’t live on the roof.”
“I meant in the apartment building.”
“Oh, yeah, I do,” You responded, and then your eyebrows furrowed. “Why would I be offended by that?”
“Just in case you didn’t live there,” Peter said. “Things probably would’ve been pretty awkward right now if your answer was no.”
You considered his words for a moment and ultimately agreed. Things still felt just generally a little awkward, though, since the two of you were still basically strangers. “True, but yeah, I live in the building,” You said and then thought, “Sadly.”
“So,” He began, and you had a feeling what his next words would be. “Why do you sleep on the roof?”
You were quiet at first. You didn’t really want to answer the question, but something about the smallness of the aisle made it feel a bit easier to finally let out the truth to someone.
A small sigh fell from your lips before you finally began speaking. “Sometimes, I have issues with my dad. He gets drunk and angry, and it’s better to just leave for a bit than let things escalate.”
You had avoided eye contact with Peter the entire time you spoke, but when you were finished, you finally met his gaze. He looked genuinely concerned about you; it reminded you of the look on his face the first time he woke you up on the roof.
“Has he ever… hurt you?” His words came out soft and quietly, but they still completely filled up the small area.
You were quick to shake your head, almost as if you wanted to defend your dad or downplay your whole situation, even though it was pretty much the opposite of something that should be downplayed. “No, no, luckily. I’m always gone, or I’ve locked myself in my room before it could get that far.”
“I’m sorry,” He said, his voice once again soft and his gaze broken from yours.
The new look on his face, which you could only describe as sorrow and pity, made you feel mixed emotions. On the one hand, you were annoyed that he felt sorry for you because you really did not want anyone’s pity. However, the other part of you felt warmed at the fact that he seemed to care about you, at least a little bit.
You opened your mouth to say something and then closed it when you realized you didn’t know what you wanted to say to Peter right then. So, instead, you moved out of the small aisle and went back to standing behind the front counter, putting an abrupt but much-needed end to the little truth circle moment you two had.
Peter followed you and stood in front of the counter, placing the study books in his hands on the wooden countertop. You were going to remind him that they were free, but he began speaking before you could say anything.
“What about other family? Do you have anyone else that you could live with instead?” He asked. Apparently, he hadn’t sensed that the moment was supposed to be over.
You let out a small sigh but for some reason, still found yourself answering his question. “My mom hasn’t really been around since I was ten, and there really isn’t anyone else. So, maybe I should feel lucky that my dad at least wants something to do with me.”
You knew you couldn’t justify your dad’s volatile behavior solely because your mom was long gone and had been for years. Because in the end, bad was bad, no matter how much of a slightly lesser evil one thing was over the other. However, it felt easier and almost second nature to pretend that everything was at least somewhat better than it actually was.
“If things get bad, you can always come to my apartment. I’m in 628,” Peter told you, and you could practically hear the sincerity dripping off of every word. “And I mean that in a completely non-creepy way.”
“You don’t give off creepy vibes at all. Actually, probably the exact opposite. So, thanks for the offer,” You said, although you knew you would never take him up on it.
It wasn’t that you didn't like the guy you now knew as Peter, but instead you just truly wanted to forget that the conversation with him ever happened. You wanted to forget that you shared way too much with him, and you especially wanted to forget how nice and caring he was toward you. And in order to fully forget everything, you could never show up at his apartment, although the exact apartment number he told you was already ingrained in your brain.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
❝ i think you should come live with me and we can be pirates. then you won't have to cry or hide in the closet. ❞
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
You shouldn’t have been there, and you really wished that you didn’t have to be there, yet your knuckles still rapped against the door in three quick knocks.
It was weird because you found yourself not wanting to be alone right then after what had just happened; instead, you wanted a friend. And although you were reluctant to admit it, Peter was sort of the closest to a friend that you had right then. He told you his apartment number so that you could come if things got bad again; that was something a friend would do.
“Hi,” You said when Peter opened the door. He looked as if he had just been sleeping and had the attire to match, a wrinkled t-shirt and sweatpants; that was not too surprising to you since it was almost one in the morning. “I’m really sorry for waking you up.”
“No, no, it’s fine,” He rubbed his eyes and then opened up the door further so that you could entire the apartment. “Is everything okay?”
Your mind briefly traveled back to what had just happened with your dad before you quickly pushed it away because you truly wanted to put that out of your head for the time being.
“No,” You stated honestly as you walked inside, and he closed the door behind you both. “But, I also don’t really wanna explain why right now.”
You hadn’t necessarily thought about what the inside of Peter’s apartment would look like, but you could definitely say that you didn’t expect it to be so empty. There were the basics; a bed, a nightstand, a dresser– but it was absent of pictures, color, anything that could potentially make it feel like a home. That made you realize that there was a lot you didn’t know about him.
“Did you just move in?”
“Yeah, it’s only been a few months,” He answered, and it was quiet for a brief moment before he asked, “Do you want something to drink?”
“Water would be good,” You responded, and Peter nodded before heading to the small kitchen area.
You continued to look around the space as you fumbled with your hands, pulling them out of the front pocket of your hoodie and then placing them back in there because there was nothing else you could think of doing. It was kind of dark, only a small lamp on the nightstand in the corner lighting up the studio apartment. However, something about the minor darkness made you feel a bit more comfortable.
“Thank you,” You said when Peter handed you the water.
You walked toward the bed and sat down on the floor, leaning back against the bed frame. Something about sitting on the actual bed felt a little weird to you, although you were very unsure how clean the floor even was. Peter took a seat next to you but left some space between you both.
You took a long sip from the glass in your hand, allowing a silence to surround you both. It was hard to determine if the quiet was comfortable or awkward, but overall it felt quite indifferent.
“I shouldn’t be here.”
“Why did you come here instead of going to the roof?” Peter asked, and you could feel his gaze on you, but you were staring straight ahead.
A small sigh fell from your lips. “Coming here felt like a better idea than going to the roof; I didn’t want to be alone. Honestly, I kind of trust you, but I don’t know why, though. And I feel like it’s dumb that I do because I know almost nothing about you. Aside from you liking to watch the sunrise on the roof, which is so cheesy but also quite wholesome.”
Your truthful words hung in the air for a few long moments as you waited for Peter to say something, anything, in response.
“I lied before. Well, not really a lie, but I didn’t tell the whole truth.” His statement should have at least slightly concerned you, but for some reason, it didn’t.
You turned to meet his gaze, but now it was his eyes that were focused on the window straight ahead. “When? About what?”
“I don’t just go up to the roof to watch the sunrise,” He started, and something about his now almost stiff and nervous demeanor made you understand that what he was going to say wouldn’t be easy for him. “I, uh, I don’t have anybody anymore. Everybody that used to be in my life, they’ve… they’re gone. So, when I go up on the roof, I feel just a little less lonely because I look at all of the random people walking around below on the street, and some of them are alone too, and some aren’t, but either way, they’re all just living their lives, and it’s nice to see.”
You let Peter’s words sit with you for a few moments. You truly wanted to know more about him and his situation, but something about his somber tone let you know that it wasn’t something that he would want to talk about further. Therefore, instead, you shifted closer to him, closing the small gap between you both, and reached over to give his hand a light squeeze, a way to nonverbally say, “You’re not alone.”
In a weird, sad way, it was almost funny because you showed up at Peter’s apartment because you didn’t want to be alone after what happened with your dad, and it turned out he was lonely too. Maybe the saying was true; everybody really did need somebody.
You took another long sip from the glass of water, finishing it, and you suddenly wished that it contained something a bit stronger.
“Do you wanna talk about what happened tonight?” Peter’s question did not surprise you at all, because you knew that it would have to come up eventually.
No, you’d rather not talk about what events brought you to his apartment, but yes, you were going to do so anyway because you surprisingly felt comfortable around him.
“My dad finally noticed that I leave almost every night. He conveniently did not realize that it is because of him. Anyway, so he noticed and got really pissed at me, and I stupidly argued back and tried to defend myself. And then he pushed me, and I fell, crashing right into the edge of the kitchen table as I did,” You lifted your hoodie a bit to show the bruise that was already beginning to form on the side of your torso. You couldn’t look at it like Peter now was because if you did, you knew you would start crying, like you almost had when it first happened. “He’ll apologize for it in the morning.”
“You don’t deserve this,” Peter told you. His voice was quiet, but you could hear the seriousness in his tone.
“I know,” You sighed and looked away from him. Instead, you leaned your head against his shoulder. “But, I have zero other options. So, I just have to suffer through these next three years until I graduate from college and can get a job that’s far away from here and from him. And I can make sure that I only talk to him and see him when he’s in good moods and happy. And not at all during these dark times.”
Peter wanted to tell you that three years seemed like way too long, and there had to be something else you could do. But he didn’t say anything.
Because he knew that you didn’t want someone to try and solve your problems, you just wanted someone to listen to you, to hear you, and maybe even provide a little help when the shit in your life got too tough.
And Peter wanted to be that person for you. So, instead of saying anything, he grabbed your hand and gave it a soft, reassuring squeeze, like you had for him, and let you know that you also weren’t alone either, and everything would eventually be okay.

When you finally find him, he’s sitting outside on the porch swing. The sun is long down, he’s not even turned on the yard light. The moon reveals his face well enough; not even the smoke from his cigarette can blot out how he shines under her caress.
You watch from behind the screen door for just a moment, wondering what you might finally say to him when you step out into the evening air. Nothing ever seems right on nights like this. For a while tonight he’d seemed okay, his chest hot at your back, the dog tags still somehow cold against your skin. When you’d woken, he was gone, the sheets still warm.
A ghost. He’s just barely this side of real some nights. Some nights you’re not even sure if he can hear the crickets keeping time in the heat, or feel you reaching for his hand in the dark.
You watch as he brings his cigarette to his mouth. The ember flickers like one of the lightning bugs out in the field. When he breathes out, it dies, just for a moment, before it all starts again.
Finally, you let yourself step out onto the porch, the old screen door clattering closed behind you. He doesn’t look up at the noise. He doesn’t even move. His gaze is trained far out into the distance; so far you think it might not be the distance anymore, but the past instead.
You feel the worn wood beneath your bare feet, as well as the dust and dirt of late summer. As you pad closer, he still doesn’t look up. You can’t take the droning silence anymore.
“Yoongi.”
He blinks, and angles his face toward you without looking up. It’s one of those nights, it seems.
“Yoongi,” you say. “Baby, come back to bed.”
After a long moment, he takes a drag on his cigarette and sighs. “Can’t sleep.”
You nod, falling quiet, letting the insects continue counting degrees undisturbed. You’re never sure what to do in these moments, the ones where you know he needs to talk but know you’re not suited to the task like a professional might be. He doesn’t want to trouble you. He never does.
And yet, abruptly but still with his customary care, he reaches out for you, and takes your hand. You draw near, until you’re standing in front of him, looking down at his impassive expression as he puts his cigarette out in the ash tray.
Another beat of silence, and then he’s drawing you close, letting his face rest against your belly as you stand before his sitting place. He wraps his arms around your thighs and holds you close, as if clinging to you is the only way he can tell you anything at all.
After a few breaths, deep ones that clear out the smoke, he stands and takes your hand again.
“Alright. I’m ready to go back to bed, sweetheart.”

ryusei: thinks calling you bad at imessage games counts as flirting. tried to make his own nickname, but absolutely NO ONE called him it LMFAOO 💀💀 was the absolute worst person to be around when “i like your cut g,” was popular 😭 is so annoying to have in class when he has an away game. “yeah, i’m not gonna do my work, i’m about to leave soon, so it doesn’t matter,” whole time it's only third period 💀
yukimiya: idk he gives me fake nice vibes sometimes 😭 like he indirects people on his finsta and when the person it’s about asks if it’s about them, he’s like “noooo lol dw its not u😂" even though it’s so obvious it is 💀 has so many of the “bff 🤩” “this isn't the caption i picked☹️” comments on his instagram from girls. i feel like if he wasn't a model and all, he'd be the type to put his snap in his instagram bio 😭
tabito: argues with teachers. deletes dms when girls don't respond back LMFAOOO💀 babe we already saw the notification, you're not slick. his favorite movie is the godfather. has a “saturdays are for the boys” flag. one of those mfs that’s always talking about how much they like milfs shaddup!!!! and they’re not even milfs half the time, it’s just some woman in her late twenties 😐
otoya: ghosts people all the time by "accident." you can decide if this an ick or not but, he really likes drain gang. considers himself to be a drainer 😭 refuses to watch “mainstream” anime but when you ask what his favorite is he says, “evangelion, idk if u’ll know it though" 😐

This is a David and Angel one like I said in my last post on how I got in a fight with my sister and how I said I was going to make a fic about it but I didn't say that I was going to add a plot to it so yeah I'm doing a plot hope you enjoy😃👍🏼
Tw: mention of self-harm, curse words, car accident
It can't be...
Angel went to their parents house to visit them and stay there for a couple of nights. They didn't know that their parents also invited their 3 siblings so they all could catch up.
Angel never had a good relationship with their parents when they were young but that changed a lot once they got old. Their siblings and they were on good terms when they were growing up they were close but still got into fights here in there.
-
Angel
"bye Davey I'll be back in a few days!" I said while getting the rest of my thing and walking out the door.
But before I could he grabbed my hand turned me around and kissed me. This wasn't the first time he's done that. He'd do it when I was leaving some where. Like when I went on that trip for a week.
"you sure you have everything?" David said not wanting me to leave anything behind. "Yup!! I have everything!" I told him. I was excited to see my parents after a long time. We would talk here and there but never really visited each other as much.
"I'm off! Love you Davey!!" I said to David giving him a kiss. "Love you too Angel. Be safe." David said while he let me go. "I will!" I said to him while getting into my car giving him a wave and getting one in return.
I smiled then drove off. I was smiling the whole way there playing my favorite songs that reminded me of Davey. My parents house is 1 hour away sense I moved into the empowered side of Dahlia with Davey. They didn't know that David was empowered. I never told anyone in my family. Not even my closest friends from diapers!
The only thing I told them when I first met David was that "oh! I met this really cute guy! He seems nice!" The reason why I told them was because they'd bully me about "not having a boyfriend" and how "I was going to stay lonely forever because I couldn't find the right person I'm willing to marry and have kids with one day." The first time I introduced them to David their jaws dropped.
After that day they wanted to get to know him more sense there all over protective and don't want any of us to get heart broken but they trust him now that they got to know him more.
I introduced him to my parents and they seem to like him! They think that we were meant for each other! Yeah my dad and brother didn't like him at first but after some interrogation from them they started to get along! Mainly my brother sense he told me that " if your ever going to date a guy ask him this one question! And then I'll accept him!" He would say and my response would always be "oh yeah and what is that question?!...I swear if you say-" I would say untill he would cut me off and say "can he, she or they cook"
I would curse at him and tell him to fuck off. That I don't need a someone to cook me shit. And then he'd call me out like I'd only eat ramen and pop tarts every week when I was back in college and do nothing more then eat, sleep, and study.
When I got into a relationship with Michael my brother never liked him. He said that he got a bad vibe from him. I should have listened to him then because after that break up I was a wreak.
I was all cought up in my thoughts that I haven't even noticed that I was pulling into the neighborhood that I grew up in. I was letting my feet and hands do all the work while I was just in my thoughts. How? I don't know?
I started to see familiar houses. They may have changed a little bit but that was ok sense I grew up in this neighborhood! It still looked the same! Well at least to me.
As I started to get to the house I grew up in I could see that there was two cars in the driveway and they looked so familiar.
I parked my car just Infront of my parents house. As I was walking up the stairs I could hear some laughter. The same laughter I heard as a child. It was my dad!
Just hearing my dad made me feel kinda like home. And I say kinda cuz Davey's not here. I quickly run up the stairs exited to see him after some years of not seeing each other.
Knock knock.
I could hear footsteps heading twords the door and as the person got closer I got even more excited I just couldn't wait!
The door swings open to reveal that the person at the door wasn't someone I was expecting so I stood there shocked.
It was my brother!
"Hey!" My brother said hugging me. "Hi! I didn't expect to see you?! How have you been?!" I said hugging him back.
"I've been good!.. where's you bags? Are you not staying??" My brother said with this confused look on his face. "Oh I left it in my car unless this was the wrong house!" I said while chuckling a little. I could just imagine to myself if this was the wrong house and I just show up with my suitcases like a crazy person.
"Oh! That makes a lot of sense!" He said laughing. "Alright I'll be right back with my things!" I said while walking back to my car. "Here let me help you!" My brother said I was about to protest but didn't sense he wouldn't back down and still help me.
Once we got all of our things and got into the house and said hi to my 2 sisters and my parents and hugged them we started to cook. I knew a lot of things to cook know sense Davey taught me. They were surprised when I told them what I could make. "Years ago you would just be my helper and once you got older you didn't know what to cook but your raman and Pop tarts" my brother said raising his eye brow.
"it must be that boyfriend David!" My sister said in a teasing voice. "Oh fuck off raman and Pop tarts lasted me that long and hey I'm still living aren't I?! AND!! You would have done the same thing if you were me!" I said giving them a glare for them to shut up.
"yeah but we're not you!" My little sister said looking up from her phone from the kitchen table. "Your one to talk! Your not even doing anything!" I said to her while she just laughed. "So your saying that you boyfriend David teaching you how to cook is a bad thing???!" She said still laughing.
"at least I have a loving and caring boyfriend that could teach me thing! You don't even have a boyfriend! Not even in you ENTIRE life!" I said laughing and giving her a chicky glare.
"HEY!!" She said her face red like a tomato. Everyone started to laugh. "You guys are so annoying!" She said. " Oh you want to talk about annoying?!" I said raising an eyebrow.
"No! I really don't smartass!!" She said laughing. "Ha see that I am smart! Someone just proved it!" I said a chicky grin on my face. She stuck her tung out at me and I did the same. It was something we would do as kids when ever we would get mad at one another or just do it in a playful way.
After we were done eating dinner we played some games and I won some and lost some.
It was like that for a couple of days that I had stayed there but this night was one that I would remember...
"MAN! That food was good!" I said with a big smile on my face. "I told you that was a good restaurant!" My sister added.
We got back to my parents house and started to talk. My little sister left the kitchen because she had something to do and my brother also left sense he got a call from someone important so it was just me and my sister. She was 2 years older then me but we were close when we were younger and told each other everything!
"Hey.. remember when we were younger and you told me something..? Like when you told me that you always hated me and stuff...? And when I asked you why you were telling me you just said that you were being honest..?" I said to her afraid to bring it up. It was something that happened years ago. But it always stuck with me. I never stopped thinking about it. I didn't want to bring it up at the time because she was older and stronger when we were younger but now that I'm older and strong enough to take anything I though it would be right. I mean she was always out of town and she never had time to talk to anyone.
"yeah..why?" She asked a confused look on her face as why I asked about it. "Well I just wanted to know why..? I mean why did you hate me? Was it something I did? Something I said? Like what did I do to make you hate me..?" I said looking her in the eyes. I'm pretty sure that if I brought it up back then I would be looking down.
'i don't know? You just pissed me off that's all." She said laughing a little. "Is that all..?" I said with a stern voice. "I mean yeah..?" She said. "So I went through all that trouble because I just pissed you off..?!" I said try not to raise my voice.
"hey is it my fault that you did piss me off?!" She said also try not to raise her voice but I've known her this long know that any moment she'll start explode.
"I've tried EVERYTHING to be a good sibling to you but did that work?! NO!" I screamed at her holding back a little bit.
"WELL I NEVER ASKED YOU TO TRY-" She screamed back but I quickly cut her off. "YOU NEVER TOLD ME TO BUT I STILL DID!! WHY BECAUSE I FUCKING CARE FOR YOU! MY WHOLE LIFE I HAD TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR ASS AND WHAT DID I GET IN RETURN?!" I screamed waiting for a response. "WHAT? TELL ME WHAT YOU GOT!" she tried to say in a calm voice yet it was no use sense she still screamed it.
"OH IM SO GLAD YOU ASK!" I said with a fake smile looking at her. "I GOT YOUR BULLSHIT!!! THATS WHAT I FUCKING GOT!"I said to her not holding back anymore.
"Oh?! MY BULLSHIT?! WHAT DID I EVER DO TO YOU THAT MADE YOU THINK WAS BULLSHIT?!" She screamed back at me.
"YOU FUCKING DO SHIT THAT PISSES ME OFF AND I DON'T SAY SHIT! YOU BITCH! GUESS WHY THE HELL (TW) I SELF-HARMED MYSELF BECAUSE ALL OF YOU AND YOUR BULLSHIT!!" I screamed hot tears running down my cheeks.
When even I was mad I would always cry because it was the only way I could release frustration.
"I HATE YOU!" My sister said.
"I HATE YOU EVEN MORE!! SOMETIMES YOUR SO FUCKING HARD TO RESPECT!! I HATE YOU!!" I said slamming my fist on the table and walking to the room that I was staying passing my two siblings and parents that I didn't realize were there.
Once I left the room I could hear my sister talking to my parents but I didn't care.
"Where are you going?" My mom asked. She looked like she wanted to cry. Like she never wanted her children to turn out like this.
"sorry ma...I'm going home.." I said looking away from her. "Mkay then..." She said giving me a hug and kiss on the forehead.
I felt another pair of arms hugging me and it was my dad. My family members always said that my brother and I looked more like my dad then my mom.
"I'm sorry.." I said pulling away from their hug.
"I'm leaving early...I'll text you guys when I get home.." I said turning around opening that door.
"hey. We love you kiddo." My dad said. "Love you too" I said back.
I shut the door behind me walking to my car. Why does she always have to do this! I thought to myself.
I still wasn't calm down. I put on music in my car and started to drive. Hot tears running down my cheeks like they did when I was fighting with my sister. She'd always been a bitch to me and I've tried to make a good relationship with her. and I did!Yet that relationship was fake...I should have known..
I wiped at my tears harshly. why should I be crying?! why..? Why? WHY!
I kept wiping my tears harshly to the point that my eyes hurt but I didn't care.. I was in so much pain I didn't care about anything.
I was too focused on my thoughts I didn't hear my phone ringing until it rang multiple times.
I saw that it was David I was going to pick it up but I didn't in time before the phone hung up..
Than it rang again..and again...and again..
I could hear the phone ringing people screaming.
"call the cops!" Someone screamed.
"someone get that assholes license plate!" Another person screamed.
"I got their license plate already so don't worry about it! Just get the damn cops over here!" Someone else yelled.
I heard people screaming but I couldn't understand them. My ears were ringing. I just wanted it to stop... And it did and it went black...
.
.
.
.
It was like I woken up in heaven? But it was just... white...?
"were am I?"I said.
"your in a white room" A voice said.
It sounded familiar? But it wasn't a voice that I grew up with.
"Gabe?" I said. I was unsure. No that's silly David's dad died years ago..
"That's right" The voice said. I turned around..and there he was.. standing in front of me..like really there.. and with his wife! David's mom!
"H-how...is this possible..?! Am I dead?! Does this mean I'm never going to see David again?!" I said tears running down my face again.
David's mom gave me a hug and then his dad...but it felt so real like they were there and alive..?! "Your not fully dead.." his mom said. Not fully...dead?
"what do you mean fully dead..?" I asked my eyes widening.
"That means that your still breathing." Gabe said while him and his wife pulled away from the hug. "How could I go back before I die?!" I said. "We don't know..." Said Gabe.
"I have to get back to David! He was calling me when the crash happened and I was going to pick it up but I couldn't! Is that a good thing because if I did pick it up he would have heard the crash! But then again I didn't pick up the phone so he must be worried because I usually pick up!"
I started to ramble but Gabe cut me off. "You have to get back there and get to him. Show him that your okay. He won't care if you picked up his calls or not. Hell he'll probably get into a crash if he hears what happens to you and tries to drive over here!" He said chuckling a little.
"yeah I guess" I said also chucking. "Do you know how to get back?" I asked. "I think you have to remember all of the nice times you've had with people that you love." He said.
I tried to think about every good memory I had with my friends, family, and David..
David was the most important thing in my life right now and don't get me wrong I love my family but it seemed like David was more important..no one has ever loved me like him...
He didn't make me feel insecure, he didn't make me feel worthless, he made me feel like a person..
He made me feel loved...
-
David
"Chill out David their probably doing something with their family and have their phone on silent. I mean it is 10:30 pm they might be asleep?" Asher said trying to calm his best friend down
"I know the time but they haven't texted back like they said they would..that's not like them...and they can't be asleep I know them well enough to know that for a fact.." David said putting his phone up to his ear once more.
"David you need to chill out" Asher said looking at David with worried eyes. David hated when he did that because when ever he did do that David would put whatever he was doing down so David just turned away facing the kitchen where they had half eaten brownies laying on the kitchen island that they had baked almost an hour ago.
After Asher saw that the look he gave his Alpha didn't work he plopped down on the couch and started to switch channel to channel just like David tried to call Angel again and again.
He kept switching thought the channels untill one cought his eye.
A car crash..?
He thought. He was worried since he knew were the crash happened. It was near the grocery store were they most of the pack went.
"a car crash here in front of --- street were a drunk driver crashed into a innocent civilian trying to get home. Coming into you Ben." The lady said
"thank you Anna. As you heard there is a car crash and you could see behind me." The reporter continued on.
"David.. you might want to see this.." Asher said. He recognized a familiar car and that's when he realized.
"Asher not right now." David said still not facing his friend. " No David..you need to see this right now!" Asher said. "ASH I SAID NOT RIGHT NO-" David said turning around but stoped mid sentence once he saw the TV screen.. his mate's car was messed up..
It was a wreck...there was blood..and over all it looked like a crime scene.
"it can't be.." he muttered.
Then he saw the bottom of the screen.
It seems that the victim of the car is ----
It was his Angel..his Angel was the one in the car..the car that they were showing..the car that looked like a crime scene..it was theirs..
David dropped his phone got his keys and ran out. Asher running right behind him.
-------
That's were I'm ending it right now but I will be making a part 2 really soon!

humph; han seojun (pt 4)
part 1, part 2, part 3, part 5
story: frenemies to enemies to lovers, high school au
synopsis: seojun and you have known each other since kindergarten. you’re neighbors and even attended the same singing and piano classes. despite knowing each other for such a long time, you don’t enjoy spending time with seojun. even though you are aware of his unfairness, you keep spending time with him. when will you finally leave your childhood frenemy?
note: humph! is a story inspired by pentagon’s “humph! / 접근금지”. originally, this is a seungyeon fanfiction, which i posted on my wattpad. words: 3.8k
Tumblr media
to claim that the cupid-team is surprised to witness han seojun getting along with his long term frenemy would be an absolute understatement. in fact, they seem completely and utterly dumbfounded as they watch you both laugh at a joke seojun pulled in the middle of the bus ride back home. needless to say, the childhood friends tease each other now and then like they’re used to it, this time without hurting any feelings. all of these observations, including the fact that you decided to sit next to each other in the bus, lead to several assumptions and without you knowing, rumors start to develop.
for whatever reason, neither you nor seojun are aware of the gossip regarding both of you. perhaps it’s thanks to kim chorong, who’s apparently really skilled at being inconspicuous.
_
it’s been one day since you arrived home and you find yourself sleeping in till two pm on a saturday.
seriously, you should fix your chaotic sleeping schedule.
when you finally leave your room to get some food into your stomach, dressed in your favorite hoodie and sweatpants, your mum and juyeong are already eating lunch. like expected, they give you a quick judging look without interrupting their conversation. while you’re putting some rice in a bowl they talk about juyeong’s crush on some girl. soon their conversation moves to something related to seojun, and that's when you suddenly pay attention instead of playing with the cold food on your plate.
"y/n, is seojun’s mother in a better condition now?"
instantly you look up to react to your mum’s question. instead of looking at you, she puts more vegetables on juyeong’s table,
"it's been a few days since i last visited her, maybe i should do it again soon. i really hope she gets better."
"what are you talking about?"
"seojun hyung's mum is in hospital." juyeong answers, his mouth stuffed with food while pushing the vegetables away with a scrunched face.
"what?"
"hasn't he told you about his mum? i thought you guys would tell each other everything." my mum questioned with a small pout forming on her lips, finally meeting your worried eyes.
"they broke up.", your annoying brother fails the attempt to whisper.
"we're not together!"
displeased, you hiss at your brother, voice getting higher.
"you guys act like a married couple sometimes. it's annoying."
"shut up!"
"both of you stop now." your mother sighs while her hands move in the air in attempt to stop you from attacking your own brother.
"seojun’s mum is seriously sick and i'm going to visit her tomorrow morning. y/n, maybe you should do too? or talk to him a little since he's probably not doing so well."
"i will."
feeling upset that you’re just finding out about seojun’s mother’s condition, you can’t stop thinking about it for the whole day. besides that, you are worried and consider visiting them the next day.
even though their house is quite near to yours, you have to go through the dangerous part of your quarter. as you make your way to the han’s, your hand moves to your right pocket to grab the pocketknife, which seojun gifted you in your freshman year of high school. for defense reasons, he said.
"you need to be careful when you're walking down this street. here, have this."
however, instead of seeing a group of dangerous men, you spot han seojun himself, walking towards your direction with hands in his pocket. thinking of a casual way of greeting him, you clear your throat before taking a few steps forwards in order to greet him,
"hey!”
"hey, what are you doing here?"
surprised to see you in this area, seojun raises his eyebrows.
"well, i actually wanted to visit- what the hell happened to your face?"
rapidly, you interrupt yourself when the boy is finally close enough for you to spot the multiple bruises on his pale skin. this causes you take a few steps forward and reach for his cheek instantly, worry written all over your face.
he looks horrible. bruises all over his face, lip bleeding, knuckles visibly red.
seojun catches glimpse of your worried eyes and feels embarrassed for you to find him at this state. instead of making the attempt to explain the situation, he grabs your hand which rests on his cheek. the touch of your warm and soft hand causes a pressure building in this chest. seojun doesn’t dare to take his eyes off of yours.
suddenly your cheeks feel like they’re turning into the shade of a tomato. besides that, your heart starts acting all weird when you catch glimpse of his intense eyes.
"what happened?" you question once again, this time with even more concern.
"it's not important-"
"did you get into a fight?"
"that bastard lee seungyong was getting on my nerves again, it's not important." he sighs after running his hand through his hair.
"alright. come on, we need to clean those bruises before they get worse." you mutter after grabbing his right arm and pulling him towards your house.
_
seojun hisses with a painful expression as you attempt to clean the awful wounds on his cheeks. with a concentrated look crossing over your face, you focus on the terrible cut. however, you impatiently drop your hand on your lap when seojun can’t seem to stop moving, an annoyed sigh followed after.
“could you stop moving the whole time? i’m trying to do something here.”,
positioning yourself closer to the boy sitting on the edge of your bed, you’re ready to treat his wounds for the third time. seojun only grins playfully despite the painful bruises,
“look at you acting like a doctor.”
ignoring his comment, you raise your hand once again to reach for his chin. fingers brushing on his skin, you are able to focus. this time seojun doesn’t flinch. quite the contrary, he’s like frozen on spot. the only thing he seems to be able to focus on are your features.
nothing but silence dominates your room as you decide to clean the cut on his bottom lip. you fingers brushing over his soft lip, eyes completely focused on them, the poor boy’s heart is about to explode in front of you. he internally thanks to god that you don’t notice his chest rising up and down or his ears turning into a darker shade of red. breath taken away, his eyes linger on your lips, blinking frequently.
yet, his relief only lasts for a couple seconds when the silence eventually makes you look up to seojun, only to find him already staring at you, eyes gazing at your lips.
not aware of your slightly surprised eyes, he continues staring. clearly, your bodies are almost attached to each other. not to mention, you leaned in a little earlier, grip on his shoulder to prevent him from moving. the young boy practically prays that you won’t hear his heart racing in his chest.
aren’t you even a little nervous? it almost makes him annoyed how the closeness doesn’t seem to bother you at all.
little does he know that you feel the exact same way. in fact, you’re so bothered by the butterflies in your stomach that you suddenly wish that he would just continue making dumb jokes or rude comments.
pulling your hand away from his shoulder in a swift move, you blink. still, you’re not able to look away which seems so stupid and unbelievably odd.
seconds after you catch glimpse of his hand getting closer to yours but that isn’t enough for you to look away.
why would someone look attractive with a beaten face? that doesn't make any sense.
seeing him in this state, bruises, messy hair, intense gaze, flushed face, makes you want to hug him, ask him what was wrong, tell him you were here for him.
however, right when you think he is going to say something or reach for your hand and hold it...
"guess who just ate two big delicious menus-"
juyeong.
the second your brother lays eyes on seojun sitting super close to you, his eyes widen in horror.
"o-oh adult business, i get it. i'll leave now. bye, hyung!"
yet, of course, before leaving your room he doesn’t miss the chance to make gagging noises.
"and y/n, sadly, there wasn't enough food for you."
his fake pout makes you want to throw your slipper at him but you just close your eyes for a second and exhale, trying to remain calm.
seojun only chuckles with amusement.
"mum! y/n and seojun hyung are a couple again. can she move out now?"
juyeong’s annoying voice can be heard all the way too my room. embarrassed, you glance at seojun, who is obviously trying to hold in his laugh.
"i'm sorry for my brother."
"you don't need to be."
"a-anyways, are you better now? i mean your bruises?" you stammer while pointing at his face, wanting to ignore what just happened.
"yeah, a lot better. thank you."
he trails off, eyes darting through the room,
"i-i should probably leave now."
right, your stupid self forgot to ask him about his mum.
"i heard about your mum. i hope she's doing better?"
“thankfully, she is. it's a little difficult for us but we’re going through this."
“hopefully she’ll feel better soon. i’m sure you’re taking good care of her,”
you’re always like that. caring about others more than yourself.
“if you need anything, i’m here.”
he smiles genuinely, “thank you.“
and that's when he leaves.
_
the sun shines outside the next day. but instead of going out and enjoying the nice weather like other normal people, you lay on your bed while thinking about the previous day. strangely, you couldn’t stop thinking about the way seojun made you feel.
why did your heart race? why were you left speechless?
in the corner of your mind, there’s been an explanation for your weird feelings for your childhood friend. although, you’ve always tried to ignore it and distract yourself.
but now, thinking about all the times seojun made your heart flutter, it just made sense.
you like him.
“no!”
with widen eyes you swiftly stand up, not believing yourself.
it couldn’t be, right? everyone feels this way to their friend at some point of their friendship, no?
but the thing is: you’ve been feeling like this the whole time.
letting yourself fall on your bed, you scream into your pillow.
you like han seojun.
and there’s no way your former frenemy likes you back.
_
it’s another school morning as you walk into your class. this time however, you’re nervous to enter the room. after all, you’ll have to be around the one person you now feel nervous talking to. what if he notices your odd behavior. praying that he won’t approach you in a way that made your heart flutter, you eventually enter the classroom.
however, it seems like the universe is making fun of you when you’re met with something hundred times worse the moment you step into the room. instantly, all eyes land on you and all you hear are cheers and screams from your classmates,
“congratulations on dating, y/n and seojun!”
“you’re so cute together!”
“y/n and seojun sitting on a tree!”
at the sight of chorong and his group wearing t-shirts with your shipname printed on them, your eyes widen in horror. they think you’re dating han seojun?!
“why didn’t you tell me anything? i’m your close friend after all!”
sua pouts, hitting your arm playfully while your eyes are still glued on the ridiculous t-shirts.
“is it true, y/n?”,
from the corner of your eye you see soojin giving you a teasing smile.
“listen, guys. there has been a huge misunderstanding.”,
when you can finally focus on your friends, who surround you with curious looks, han seojun enters the classroom, completely unaware of what’s happening right now.
the young boy frowns at chorong after setting his bag on his table. yet soon his confused face changes to a shocked one, as he eventually notices the t-shirts, everyone congratulating him with cheerful laughter.
turning his head to you, he notices your helpless look while you tilt your head to the side. totally surprised by everything, seojun has no clue how to act at the beginning.
finally, both of you manage to stand in front of the class, facing your classmates as they continue asking several questions,
“since when have you been dating?”
“no way! did anything happen during the school trip?”
“tell us the truth!”
frustrated, you move your hands in the air, trying to speak with a loud tone so that everyone can understand you,
“i don’t know how you came up with this rumor but seojun and me are only friends, okay?”
hearing your statement, everyone groans at the same time, not believing you at all,
“it’s so obvious! just tell us the truth.”
letting out a sigh, you turn your head to face seojun with an annoyed look,
“could you at least say something?”
however, seojun only raises his eyebrows before taking his hands out of his pockets,
“would you hate it that much?”
his sentence makes you frown and multiple questions appear in your head. not quite understanding his point, you continue staring at him with furrowed eyebrows before he finally slams his hand on the desk in front of him, catching everyone’s attention,
“you guys better stop spreading all those rumors around. she’s only my friend...,”
disappointed, many students groan before going back to their seats while others still don’t seem to believe seojun and shake their heads in denial.
seojun bends down to your height so that his face is only a few inches apart from yours before whispering with one eyebrow raised,
“...right?”
nervously you blink, sadness starting to grow inside you after hearing his words. of course, he only considers you as his friend. there’s no way he would see you as something more.
_
friday nights are always the same for you: watching your current favorite tv show while snacking on whatever you have at home. whereas other people from your grade probably club somewhere.
that night your phone rings and an unknown number appears on the screen. thinking it’s a stupid prank, you pick it up with an annoyed sigh.
"hello?"
"hello. is this y/n?"
"yes. who am i talking to?"
there is a short silence before the unknown person starts talking again,
"look, i work at this club near your neighborhood and this dude randomly passed out here. i found your number on his phone so i thought of calling you. can you maybe come and get him? he's seriously wasted a– dude, what the hell, stop spilling all the drinks!"
"i'm sorry but who are you talking about?"
you heard the unknown man mumble before answering, "seojung? seung- seojun?"
"han seojun?"
"yes! that's his name."
a short silence takes over when you sit up in shock.
"so, are you coming?"
you sigh before replying, "i need the adress.”
_
the moment you enter that club, you want to return to your house. many people dance on the dance floor, totally wasted. everyone is pressing their bodies against each other's. the loud music makes you feel even more uncomfortable. you look around and let out a relieved sigh when you find a bartender with a phone on his hand.
"hello, i'm here for seojun. the guy who–"
"hey, finally! he's right here."
you follow the man to the other side of the club, where people are sitting on the couches and drinks were sold every minute. it doesn’t take you long to spot seojun sitting on the couch. his eyes are closed but his head is swinging from left to right. you can’t believe your eyes. you’re pretty sure you haven’t seen him in a state like this ever before.
"don't worry. your boyfriend didn't hook up with anyone." the bartender next to you said.
"he's not my boyfriend."
"what are you then?"
"i'm his..." you trail off before answering,
"neighbor! i’m his neighbor!"
seojun shouldn't know that you came to pick him up at this time.
without waiting any longer, you help seojun getting up and wrap his arm around your shoulder. before leaving the club, the bartender reaches you seojun’s phone and makes sure to call a taxi. after thanking him you leave with seojun’s heavy body.
while waiting for the taxi to arrive, seojun keeps rambling stupid things you can’t understand. it’s getting harder for you to stand with him by yourself every minute, so you decide to sit on the bench with him, which is a couple steps away from the bus station.
you let out an exhausted sigh after sitting down and then turn your head towards him. suddenly you grab his face and make him look at you. he smiles like an idiot after you brush his bangs away from his forehead. his cheeks are extremely red, his lips pouting slightly and his eyes struggling not to close. your cold hands hold his warm, soft cheeks while you analyze his expressions. you have to admit: seojun looks cute.
after a few seconds he suddenly frowns. he narrows his eyes and tilts his head to the side slightly, looks you up and down considerately before asking,
"who are you?"
“you don't know who i am?"
"hmmm..." he rubs his chin carefully, acting like he’s solving a mystery,
"no."
"good."
"you're telling me that that's fine?" seojun giggles and covers his mouth.
"yes, absolutely."
"alright! i'm han seojun. who are you?" he stretches his hand out for you to shake.
"does that matter?”
“of course! who are you, young lady?”
"that's not important right now. what matters is that you're extremely drunk. what were you doing here?"
"you're rude!" he pouts and crosses his arms,
"you won't even tell me your name."
"why are you acting so childish?"
"i-i don't know."
"never mind. that's fine."
"really?!"
"yeah, you're good."
you notice how his lips form a small smile,
"you're nice and then rude and then nice and then- you remind me of someone you know?"
yes, that's you.
"my friend y/n."
"oh, really?" you sarcastically laugh.
"yeah! she's like you. but prettier. like so much prettier. she’s pretty."
"that doesn't even make sense."
"huh?" seojun asks confused.
oh no, why do you have to be so cute.
"actually, it’s hard for me to be her friend." suddenly he’s all sad,
"sometimes i cross the line and don’t know my limits. but she's so dumb and stubborn!"
"and why is that?” frowning, you cross your arms in front of your chest, waiting for his response.
he only sighs with tiredness, "never mind–"
and then he falls asleep on your shoulder.
_
finally you arrive at seojun’s house and fortunately all the lights are out. with his heavy body pressing to your small one, you struggle to carry him up the stairs. quietly, the door is opened by you before seojun falls into his bed. your head starts hurting, which makes you sit down next to him and massage your temples. however, you help seojun standing up and carry him to the bathroom carefully, in order to wash his face. he lets you take off his jacket and his shoes. finally he lays down on his back, with his face facing the ceiling.
"don't lie on your back." you demand.
"hm?" seojun’s eyes are firmly closed when he mutters with tiredness.
"lie on your side." you pull his body to the side, so that he could face you.
definitely, his facials expressions change. his lips are no longer pouted, his eyes extremely tired, his cheeks pale. from analyzing his face once again, you fail to notice him staring at you with his eyebrows drawn together. soon his confused expression changes to a sad one when you cover his body with his bed sheets.
"i'm sorry." seojun mutters suddenly. you expect him to continue, as he grabs both of your hands and slightly pulls you closer to him. a shiver goes down your spine.
"y/n, you deserve better."
he knows it’s you?
"i know i treated badly but i need you."
his eyes are barely opened, his words barely understandable. your hands start shivering as his grip tightens.
"i-i should go."
"no! please stay here." he rambles drunkly.
you decide to stay a little longer, just until he would fall asleep and hopefully forget everything that has happened this night.
“i mi..."
you aren’t able to understand his quiet mumbling, so you lean in a little,
“what did you say?"
“i miss y/n."
silence takes over the room before you finally reply,
“i missed you too, seojun-ah.”
your words make him open his eyes immediately. with a surprised face he tilts his head slightly and narrows his eyes,
"y/n?"
instead of saying anything, you hold his hand while he’s still questioning your identity. all of the sudden his hands leave yours to grab your face. without waiting too long he pulls your face closer to his. instantly, your eyes widen when you notice the small gap between your noses. intensively, he looks into your eyes. so many emotions can be read from his look, yet you can’t figure out what he‘s feeling exactly. they have the most beautiful brown color you have ever seen. so deep, that you could get lost in them. only seconds pass, but it still feels like you were staring at each other for an eternity. you can even feel his soft breath on your face, which causes your ears to turn a dark shade of crimson.
seojun then glances at your lips before looking back into your eyes again. without waiting any longer he presses your lips together, one hand holding your cheek while the other grabs your waist. you let out a small gasp, your eyes remain closed, your whole body frozen. is this really happening?
when you’re finally able to kiss him back and hold firmly into his shoulders, he tilts your head, deepening the kiss. you feel your heart beating thousand times faster, almost exploding in your chest, as his soft lips press against yours. your face is glowing when you eventually wrap your arms around his neck to pull him closer, unable to resist the warm feeling. without doubt, you are sure that you've never felt something like this before.
seojun slowly pulls back when he feels your fingers softly tugging at his hair, leaving a small gap between your lips. you feel his breath on your face when he hums something before his lips meet yours for the second time, not giving you enough time to open your eyes,
“hmm, strawberries.”
feeling his lips forming a small smile, your heart is about to explode in your chest. seojun was insanly drunk but clearly enjoys the taste of strawberry lip balm, brushing his thumb over your cheek softly.
soon you break the kiss only to find seojun falling asleep on his bed seconds later. not believing what just happened you stare at him, admiring his features before panic takes over you and you rush out of his house.
would he remember any of this tomorrow?

. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
Harry always found Y/N to be a bit strange since his first encounter with her, but he never thought she was the type who could kill house plants with just the flick of her finger.
“What just happened?” Harry loudly questions, moving as far away from her as he could get. “How did you do that? What’s going on?” His aura is red and muddy gray. Anxiety, nervousness, and fear.
“How did I do what?” Y/N asks. She wasn’t willing to give herself up so easily.
“You killed my Pothos! I saw you,” Harry points at her accusingly. “Saw ya flick your finger and then it died. Do y’know how hard it is for that thing to die? I forget to water it all the time and it was still doin’ great!”
“Really? It didn’t look too great when I got here -”
“That’s not true,” Harry interrupts her. “You’re tryin’ to make me feel crazy! I know what I saw.”
It’s silent. Neither Y/N nor Harry says anything for what has to be at least half a minute. Y/N doesn’t know if she should tell the truth or try to convince Harry he didn’t see what he thought he saw, and Harry is too frightened to move. Finally, Y/N breaks the silence.
“Harry, it was your bad energy that killed your plant. I was just redirecting it because I didn’t wanna be stuck with it again.” Y/N nervously tugs on the hem of her shirt.
“What do you mean?” Harry inquires, moving slightly closer to her once more. He was still frightened, but quite curious about how Y/N would explain the situation at hand.
Y/N didn’t know what to say. If there was one thing she knew, it was that her… capabilities were not really supposed to be shared with anyone. Of course, they weren’t! It was a hard concept to understand. It was assumed that people who didn’t have this ability would ostracize those who did— potentially even hurt them.
She knew in her heart that Harry wasn’t the type to ever harm her, but her mother always told her she could never be too careful. Y/N lived by those words, always replaying them in her head whenever she wanted to open up to anyone about all that she could do. Harry looks at Y/N expectantly, waiting for her to speak. She seems far away, lost in some thought that Harry didn’t want to break her from.
“Ever since I was little, I’ve always been a really empathetic person,” she starts. “It seemed like I always knew the right things to say to help someone feel better, and I could always cheer them up. My saying this isn’t to brag at all, it was just how it was.” Harry smiles at this but doesn’t say anything, waiting for her to continue.
“I realized something was different about me when my friend came to school one day really sad because her fish had died that morning,” Y/N inhales softly. “Of course I felt for her, you know? Like I said, I was a very empathetic person. When I went in to give her a hug though, I felt so weird immediately after! She was fine, though. It was like she didn’t even care anymore.”
“She just wasn’t sad about it anymore?”
“She missed her fish still, of course. She was just able to reflect on how happy having a pet fish made her and all the good times she had with him. I felt terrible, though. I literally had taken on her pain just from hugging her.”
As Harry takes in what she’s saying, it all starts to make sense to him.
The second time he met her, she was so adamant about knowing what was wrong with him. Harry thought he only felt better because he had talked to her about it instead of holding it in as he usually did (and that could’ve been part of the reason!), but she had also touched him.
It had happened so quickly, Harry didn’t even think anything of it. And why would he? It was nothing more than a gentle touch, gone as quickly as it was there. Now that he knew what he did, it all made sense.
“Can I ask you something, Y/N?”
“You can ask me anything, Harry.”
“How do you always know when I’m not feelin’ well? Jus’ by looking at me?”
“Well,” Y/N starts, a bit hesitant. “I can see it. Your aura.”
“My aura?”
“Your spiritual energy— it has colors.”
“What color am I right now?”
“Red and gray. You’re scared and nervous.” Y/N responds quickly. She’s right.
“How can you see it?”
“I’m not sure. I started becoming able to see auras once I learned I was able to take away people’s emotional pain…” Y/N trails off. “I know it’s odd.”
“Can you… show me?”
“You want me to show you? Show you what?”
“The thing you jus’ did.”
“It only works when you have bad energy.”
Harry raises an eyebrow at Y/N in confusion. “Thought you said I was scared and nervous?”
“Well,” Y/N hesitates. “Now you’re… uh, pink.”
“Pink?”
“You’re feeling love.”
Harry feels his cheeks flush as he quickly looks away, hating in that moment that Y/N could literally see what he was feeling. If that was really the case, how much longer would he be able to fight with himself about how he felt about her if even she knew his true feelings?
He’s saved by the sound of his doorbell ringing, figuring it was his assistant dropping off lunch for him and Y/N. “Be right back.” He says quietly, getting up from the couch, still avoiding eye contact with Y/N.
Now it’s Y/N’s turn to be confused.
She was beginning to notice that Harry turned pink around her quite often— literally. Not only would his skin flush at her presence, but his aura would change too. Y/N decided to tell herself there was no way it could mean anything. Of course it meant nothing! She just met this man. His feelings (or lack of) for her meant nothing. Y/N was just glad Harry couldn’t read her aura in the same way she could read his.
If he could, he would see she was always pink, too.
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
Harry couldn’t stop thinking about Y/N.
She was magical. Literally.
After she had left that evening, Harry spent more time than he would like to admit researching auras and empathy. He learned there was a range of colors one's auras could be at any given time, and it was always subject to change. Harry figured that if he could see Y/N’s aura, it would always be shining gold.
Y/N didn’t explicitly tell Harry not to tell anyone about this, but he knew it was something he should keep to himself. He wanted her to trust him and know she was safe around him. Telling anyone what he assumed to be her biggest secret would do nothing but push her away from him— and that was the last thing Harry wanted.
He needed to hear her sweet voice again.
Harry didn’t want Y/N to think he was obsessed with her, but the cat was already out the bag. She could literally see that he had feelings for her. The way Harry saw things, this meant he could lean into his small crush on Y/N now rather than try and deny it. He just hoped she wouldn’t find him bothersome.
When she picks up his call after the third ring, Harry swears his heart just about beats out of his chest.
”Hi Harry. How are you?”
It takes him a moment to compose himself. “H- hi Y/N. Doin’ better, thanks for askin’... I was thinking of you.”
“Really?”
“Mhm,” Harry hums. “S’why I called. What are you up to today?”
“Nothing, really. Just at work.”
Oh. Work.
Y/N was so celestial, heavenly that Harry had forgotten she at her core a regular person who still had to work to pay their bills, just like everyone else. Just like him.
“I don’t mean to bother you while you’re busy. I’ll let you go.” Harry offers this as a courtesy, but he’s hoping Y/N will say he’s not a bother at all and she’s happy to talk to him.
“I think that would work out a bit better. I’ll talk to you as soon as I can. Bye, Harry!”
Harry is met with three short beeps that signify the call has ended.
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
Y/N couldn’t stop thinking about Harry.
He called her first! It made her heart flutter to know he was thinking of her. She’s glad he doesn’t know she was thinking about him as well.
It was nice to hear from him. Truth be told, Y/N was always worried about Harry. She worried that he wasn’t sleeping enough, eating enough, or telling people ‘yes’ when he should really be saying ‘no’. She worried he was unhappy. All she wanted was for him to be happy. Although Y/N couldn’t physically see him over the phone, she knew he was doing well today.
Y/N couldn’t say she wasn’t surprised to see Harry’s number flash across her phone. She thought that surely after telling him what she did he would want nothing to do with her. She was glad that he didn’t scare away easily, and that just made her feel even more warmth inside of her body. Y/N looked around the workroom filled with her other co-workers and she hoped there was no one else like her in the building lest they see how pink she was. She was absolutely smitten!
“Y/N, are you with us? What do you think?”
Y/N is broken out of her thoughts by her boss with the call of her name. In her Harry-haze she had completely zoned out, forgetting she was in the middle of an important work meeting.
“I’m very sorry. My mind was somewhere else for a moment,” she turns to face her boss, eyes wonder-filled.  “Would you mind repeating the question?” Y/N sees her boss briefly turn from red to pink and back to yellow before he repeats himself, clearing his throat.
Y/N smirks to herself. Men were too easy.
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
“What’s got you so smiley?”
Harry jumps slightly, redirecting his attention to his manager. “Whatdya mean?”
“Been smiling and strumming your guitar for ten minutes straight,” Jeff narrows his eyes at Harry. “Are you thinking of that girl again?”
“Y/N,” Harry corrects him immediately. “What are you gonna do if I am?”
“Tell you to snap out of it, man. She’s got you this distracted already and she doesn’t even know you have a crush on her?”
Harry wants to tell him that she does even though he’s not explicitly stated it, but then that would lead to a conversation that wasn’t his to have. So he changes the subject—slightly.
“What do think about me inviting Y/N to the studio? You’ll finally be able to put a face to the name,” Harry adds once he sees the look his manager gives him every time he’s about to tell him no. “I trust her. I jus’ want her opinion on a few things. I know she won’t leak anything.”
“I’m not sure if that’s your greatest idea…” Jeff trails off giving Harry one of his infamous looks of doubt.
“I wouldn’t even be suggesting this if I didn’t trust her with everything in me. ‘Ve never suggested this any other time, have I?”
Jeff gives Harry a pointed look, although he can’t argue with that.
“Fine, invite her. She’s signing papers though…”
Jeff’s voice is nothing more than background noise as he dials Y/N’s number, which he embarrassingly already knows by heart.
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
When Harry comes out of the large, wooden double-doors to meet Y/N, he’s glowing. He’s a flash of dazzling gold and pink, his aura not being able to just land on one. Y/N is flattered that he still turns pink when he sees her, and relieved to see him so happy. So relaxed.
“So glad you could make it,” Harry tells Y/N, pulling her in for a tight hug. “My manager had a fit when I told him you were comin’, he’s jus’ very protective of me and my music. Don’t take it personally.”
“I understand,” Y/N tells him honestly. “I don’t blame your manager for not being too keen on me crashing in on one of your sessions. I could leave my phone in the car if that would make you both feel better?”
Y/N made things so easy. She was perfect in Harry’s eyes.
“I trust you completely. It might make my manager feel a bit better though…” Harry trails off, feeling sheepish. Y/N nods and unlocks her car without saying anything, retrieving her phone from her purse and hiding it away in her glove compartment.
“There. Just me and my ears now.” She lets out the sweetest giggle Harry’s ever heard, and he swears he could melt.
“Follow me, then.”
Harry makes his way back inside the studio but feels weird with Y/N trailing so closely behind him, not speaking or physically touching him. He stops and turns to face her, reluctantly reaching his hand out for her to grab. She looks at him for a moment, analyzing his energy before shakily intertwining her finger with his. Harry glows pink—so much so that he was nearly shining red. Y/N was having a difficult time differentiating between the glow of his aura and the glow of his cheeks.
He continues walking down the hall, now feeling like he was on top of the world because he had the most beautiful girl in the universe’s hand in his. Harry was ready to get to work. She was his new biggest inspiration.
Y/N’s having the greatest time watching Harry’s colors. He’s so happy and full of love! The fact that Harry was in such good spirits possibly because of Y/N made her feel like she was floating on a cloud.
Harry feels Y/N’s hesitation to enter the room that now holds not only Jeff but Mitch as well. She pulls back slightly on his hand, hiding timidly behind his broad shoulders. “What’s wrong?” He asks quietly, turning to face her.
“I don’t think they’re happy to see me…” Y/N trails off.
“How do you know?” Harry asks habitually before he realizes who he’s talking to. He knows how she knows. He internally cringes at his question.
“They’re both red,” she shifts from foot to foot. “I can leave. I don’t want to cause any problems—”
“No!” Harry says a bit too loudly. Jeff and Mitch turn to look in their direction, finally aware of their presence. Harry blushes, speaking a bit more quietly. “Sorry. Jus’... don’t leave. I promise they’re not mad that you’re here. They’re just a bit nervous because you’re new and they’ve never met you before. I’ll tell ‘em you left your phone in the car though and it’ll all be good. Yeah?”
Y/N nods, not completely certain Harry could get these men to warm up to her just because he said so. He tilts her chin up so she’s looking in his eyes, and he gives her a warm smile.
“Hey… what color am I?”
Y/N swallows thickly before answering. “You’re yellow… and pink.”
“See? ‘M not red. It’s all good, darling. Believe me when I say that.”
Y/N’s heart beats faster at the pet name and she just hopes Harry can’t hear it. She gives him a forced smile before grabbing his hand again and following him inside of the small room.
“Jeff, Mitch,” Harry starts, swinging Y/N’s hand in his. “This is Y/N.”
“It’s so nice to finally meet you,” Jeff says. Harry shoots him a look, silently pleading him to not say anything that’ll embarrass him. Luckily for Harry, Jeff catches onto this and keeps his introduction simple. “I’m Jeff, Harry’s manager.”
“Hi,” Y/N responds. Harry’s heart-strings feel like they’re being tugged at when he hears how quiet Y/N has become. “I left my phone in the car.” Jeff shoots Harry a surprised looked to which Harry gives a small nod in confirmation. Jeff hums, satisfied.
“We’re glad you could join us. I’m not sure if you have any experience in music, but it’ll be nice to get a fresh opinion on some things.”
Mitch gives Y/N a small nod and a smile, and Harry feels her grip on his hand tighten. “Don’t worry. Mitch is just shy.” Harry quietly reassures her. She loosens her grip on his hand slightly, feeling a bit more at ease.
“Where should I sit?”
“Y’can sit on that couch over there. Can I get you anything to drink? Have you ate, I can order food if you haven’t?”
Harry and Y/N are in their own world, only focused on each other. This doesn’t go unnoticed to Jeff or Mitch, and they share knowing looks behind the pair’s backs.
“What do you guys want to eat? Y/N hasn’t eaten yet,” Harry says, already searching for his text thread with his assistant. “Sushi? Mexican?”
“Whatever Y/N wants,” Mitch says, strumming a few random chords on his guitar. “Anything’s fine with me.”
Harry’s satisfied with this answer, just wanting to give all his attention back to Y/N. “Whatdya want to eat, love?”
“Do you all like veggie pizza?”
“Eh–”
Harry shoots Jeff a look that tells him not to disagree with her, so Jeff looks down and acts preoccupied with his phone. “That sounds really good, Y/N. I’ll order that.”
Harry actually hated veggie pizza. He hoped Y/N couldn’t tell.
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
”I just miss your accent and your friends…”
Harry was blue and Y/N hated it.
She knew he was pulling from old memories for his songs, but she hated when he was upset. Y/N was in a trance, though. Harry’s voice was beautiful. His songs pulled her in like magic. They were captivating, and so, so beautiful.
Y/N was enjoying being in the recording studio. She never had any experience like it, and it was interesting to see all the hard work that went into making just one song.
”Don’t you call him “baby”, we’re not talking lately,” Harry sings into his microphone sadly, licking his lips during the pause. “Don’t you call him what you used to call me…”
Y/N just wanted to go into the recording booth and hug Harry, take his pain away. She knew now wasn’t the time nor place for that, though. She’d check on him later.
“That’s good,” Jeff says, giving Harry a thumbs up. Harry gives him one back and takes his clunky earphones off, setting them beside his feet.
“How was that?” Harry asks Y/N as soon as he’s out of the recording booth. The musician in him knew it wasn’t bad, but he still wanted her praise.
“Very beautiful! Are you okay?” She gives Harry one of those knowing looks he’s growing to love. He shrugs, leaning down to speak quietly to her.
“Singin’ about someone who used to be very special to me,” he says, glancing down at his Vans-clad feet. “I’m okay, though. Don’t worry about me.”
Y/N wanted to tell Harry she always worried about him. She wanted to scream it in his face so he understood how much she cared for his well-being. She does neither of the two. “Okay, Harry. I’m just checking.”
Harry loved that she was “just checking”. He wanted to tell Y/N that he never wanted her to stop caring for him, as he would never stop caring for her. He does neither of the two. “Thank you for checking, Y/N.”
Unbeknownst to them, they were both falling deeper for each other.
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
“Y/N, are we gonna watch our movie tonight, or are you busy?” Y/N’s roommate, Amalia, peaks her head into her bedroom. Y/N was busy hanging upside down on her bed. Texting Harry.
“What? Oh, is it Friday? Let me just take off my makeup... “ Y/N locks her phone and slowly sits up, taking care not to smush her sleeping kitty who was currently snoring beside her.
“Who were you texting? You’ve been on your phone a lot more than usual lately,” Amalia notes, coming completely into Y/N’s room. “A boy?”
Y/N feels her body heat up at her roommate’s observation. “Maybe…”
“Y/N! You’ve gotta tell me! Who is he, is he cute?” Her roommate makes herself comfortable on Y/N’s bed, folding her legs beneath her. Sapphire startles slightly but quickly falls back asleep, curling her tail closer to her.
“You might know him,” Y/N begins. She and Harry never had a conversation about telling others about their association with others. She trusted her roommate, but she wasn’t sure if he would appreciate it. She decides she’ll just call him. “I’ll actually just call him. Hopefully, he’s not busy.”
Amalia finds it odd that Y/N would rather call this man than just tell her about him, but she says nothing, of course. She was used to her roommate’s behavior. She was different, and that’s why she loved her so much!
“Can you FaceTime him? I wanna see what he looks like,” Amalia claps her hands together out of excitement, feeling anticipation bubble in her stomach. She was hoping her roommate finally found someone for her so they could join her and her boyfriend on double dates and couples game nights.
“FaceTime him?” Y/N had never done that before. She and Harry always just spoke on the phone, and lately, they had gotten into texting. She hoped he wouldn’t mind. “Yeah, I can do that.”
Y/N pulls up the app on her phone and types in Harry’s contact name (which was ‘Harry’ with three pink hearts, which she would never tell him!) and bites her lip as she waits for him to answer. As an afterthought, she reaches for her earphones and connects them to her phone just in case her roommate recognizes his voice. After all, everyone on the planet knew who Harry was except for Y/N. He answers almost immediately, a dimpled smile on his face and a beautiful pink light surrounding him.
“Was jus’ thinking of you. Are we in sync? I swear I was about to call you,” Harry tells her, not being able to stop his toothy grin. “Is everything okay?”
“Well,” Y/N feels nervous. His gaze is still as intense and attentive, even though a phone screen. “I’m just hanging out with my roommate and she noticed I’ve been smiling at my phone a lot—”
“A very observant roommate.”
“Yeah, and she wanted to know if I was texting a boy. I didn’t know if it was okay to say anything but she’s beside me so do you want to say hi? It’s okay if you don’t want to, and I’m sorry if you’re busy right now…”
Harry’s gaze visibly softens. “Why wouldn’t it be okay?”
“You know why.”
Harry hums. “I’d love to meet your roommate. Go ahead and give her the phone.”
Y/N examines Harry for a moment, trying to determine if he’s telling the truth. His aura is slightly tinged red but it’s mainly yellow, making him glow the color of a sunset. He was probably a bit anxious, but he was happy. That was most important to Y/N. Amalia is sitting at the end of Y/N’s bed quietly, scratching Sapphire’s head while she waits. She watches as Y/N unplugs her earphones from her phone and wordlessly hands it to her.
Amalia’s mouth drops.
“Hi, it’s very nice to meet you. I’m Harry.”
Amalia’s entire body feels tingly.
“H- hi. Uh, I’m Amalia. Y/N’s roommate,” she looks up at Y/N, eyes wide. “It’s… wow. I’m sorry, I kinda don’t know what to say right now. I’m such a big fan of yours!”
Y/N hears Harry’s beautiful laugh and she smiles. It was his shy laugh. He was flattered. Maybe a bit flustered.
“That’s very, very nice of you. Thank you for the support.”
“Are you and Y/N dating? I can’t believe she didn’t tell me!” Amalia gives Y/N an accusatory scowl and she feels her body heat up at her roommate’s words.
“Not at the moment, but I’m working on it,” Harry tells her. Y/N doesn’t need to see him to know he’s pink. “I think she was jus’ tryin’ to protect my privacy. Which I appreciate, of course. But a friend of Y/N is a friend of mine! She has good judgment.”
Y/N can’t believe Harry’s “working on it”. He cares for her much more than she had initially thought, and Y/N just hopes he knows how much she cares for him as well. Even if she doesn’t say it.
“I’m gonna give the phone back to Y/N before I say something to embarrass myself, but it was really nice to meet you!” Amalia shakily hands the phone back to Y/N as Harry is telling her it was nice to meet her too.
Y/N is happy to see his face again. He immediately turns pink once he sees her again, a light blush tinging his cheeks. “She’s very nice. We should all go out to brunch one afternoon, how’s that sound?” Y/N nods, glancing at her roommate who currently looked like she was on the verge of fainting, bright pink just as Harry was. She was infatuated.
“Amalia’s amazing,” Y/N replies. “I was just calling to say hi, but I’m glad to see you’re doing good. I’ll talk to you later?” A deep indigo color slowly surrounds Harry at the prospect of Y/N ending the call, making Y/N frown. “I’ll see you tomorrow? Friday’s are our movie nights…”
“Oh!” Harry turns yellow again. “I didn’t mean to keep you from that. I’d like that, though. Lunch tomorrow?”
“And the studio?” Y/N asks, used to their routine. Harry shakes his head.
“Was thinking we do something else. Get out of there for the afternoon? ‘M sure you get bored jus’ watchin’ me sing all day. The last thing I want is for you to be bored.”
Y/N nearly laughed out loud. She was never bored when she was with Harry. She could simply sit and watch the grass grow with him, and she’d still be thoroughly entertained.
“I don’t want you to fall behind because of me.”
“S’my album. I can take a day off, darling. Hey–– can ya look at me?” Y/N knows Harry is asking her to examine what color he is. She nods after a moment.
“Okay, Harry. I can’t wait to see you tomorrow,” she takes a thoughtful pause as she usually does. “Have a good night.”
“I’ll be counting down the minutes. You too, Y/N.” The call disconnects. Y/N feels her heart about to beat out of her chest. Counting down the minutes.
She was counting down the minutes, too.
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
Harry was nervous to see Y/N. He hadn’t been alone with her since the day at his house when she came over to keep him company while he was sick. Their relationship was progressing quicker than anticipated, but neither of the two had any complaints.
Per Harry’s request (or, after a ton of his begging) Y/N agreed to let Harry pick her up instead of driving separately and meeting up like they usually do. He was excited to finally know where Y/N lived. When he thought of any space Y/N cultivated, he imagined it to be a bit cluttered. Lots of paintings on the walls. Perhaps some personal photographs of friends and family.
When Harry approaches Y/N’s apartment complex, he isn’t surprised to see that she lives in one of the oldest-looking buildings he’s ever seen. He was sure that when he asked her about it later, she would tell him that old buildings had the most character or something along those lines. Harry parks in record time, albeit like a bit of an asshole, and grabs the bouquet of flowers he picked up on his way to her before hurrying out of his car. His sunglasses immediately go on and his beanie gets pulled low over his forehead in the off chance there was someone who could recognize him anywhere nearby.
“Four, eight, two, five,” Harry mutters Y/N’s gate code under his breath as he approaches it. “Four, eight, two, five…” He’s delighted when it works. Against Y/N’s wishes, he didn’t write it down when she told him, adamant about having the best memory in the world. He was glad he didn’t forget it and have to call her and ask for it again.
Harry has no difficulty at all finding her apartment. Just as she said, there were several potted plants surrounding the door and a plaque that read, ‘Welcome to our home!’. He smiled to himself. It was just so Y/N. He firmly knocks and takes a step back, tightly gripping the bouquet in his hands. The door flies open moments later and Harry is met with Y/N’s beautiful face. His nerves immediately dissipate.
“Hi, Harry–– oh! Those are beautiful!” She opens the door a bit wider. “Please, come in!”
Harry’s happy. She seems happy. Of course, he couldn’t know for sure in the way that he could, but Harry was quickly learning her mannerisms.
“Hi, darlin’. S’nice to see you,” he leans down to place a delicate kiss on her cheek. “You’re lookin’ as beautiful as ever.”
“I haven’t even gotten changed yet,” she replies dismissively, shutting the door. “I completely lost track of time. I was helping Amalia get ready for a date that she’s going on and it made me forget all about ours.”
Harry could die a happy man right now. Y/N just referred to their spending time together as a date!
“No apologizing,” Harry says sternly, handing the flowers to Y/N. “‘M not upset about it, am I? We’ve got all the time in the world.”
Y/N looks down shyly at the shabby rug beneath her feet. “Do you wanna help me pick out an outfit? I’m not too sure about what I should wear… I really think it would help if you actually told me where we were going.”
“Nice try,” Harry chuckles, following her through the apartment. It looked just as he pictured it would. “Already told you it’s a surprise.”
“I thought I would try again.”
Y/N’s room was incredible. There were plants everywhere even more than the ones surrounding her front door. Some were even hanging from the ceiling! Her walls were a pale yellow color. She had glow-in-the-dark stars and planets stuck to her ceiling, a ginormous rug that covered probably half of her wooden floor, and paintings taped haphazardly to the wall. It looked like she made them herself, too. They were lovely.
“Your room is amazing,” Harry tells her, flopping onto her bed while she digs around in her closet. Even though he had never been there before, he immediately feels comfortable. At home. “Where’s Sapphire?”
“Oh, she’s around here somewhere,” Y/N’s voice sounds a bit muffled from being in her closet. “She might be hiding. She doesn’t like men.”
“Did you tell her that I’m nice?”
Y/N turns to look at him, two shirts in her hand. “I can’t force her to like you, Harry. What do you think about these shirts?”
“I think you would look good in all of them,” Harry feels his heart rate pick up under her gaze. “You may get cold if you wear something sleeveless, though.”
Y/N says nothing in response, just stares at him. To anyone else, her staring may be weird, but Harry knew what she was doing. He stares back at her just as intensely, raising an eyebrow. Finally, she nods, turning her attention back to her closet.
“Should I wear something with long sleeves?”
Harry hums in response to her question. “I think that would be a good idea.”
Y/N turns to face him again, tugging at her oversized sleep shirt. “Do you think you can take down some shirts on the shelf for me? I don’t feel like going to get a chair all the way from the kitchen…”
“Of course I can,” Harry immediately gets up from his lying position on Y/N’s bed. “Which ones?”
“The ones in that corner,” Y/N replies, standing beside Harry. He never noticed how much shorter she was than him until she was asking him to reach things off the top-shelf for her. Harry loved it.
He reaches up with ease, grabbing a stack of neatly folded long-sleeves. In the process of pulling them down, a box comes falling off the shelf, hitting the floor with a loud clang! and the sound of broken glass. “Shit,” Harry mutters, bending down to reach for the box. “Sorry about tha’, pet–”
“Don’t touch that!” Y/N exclaims, pushing past Harry to grab the box before he does. Harry backs up, putting his hands up in the air like he was a criminal who’d just been caught.
“I didn’t touch it, I promise,” Harry quickly reassures her. “Why can’t I touch it? What is that?”
“Remember how I was telling you about bad energy?” Her voice drops to a whisper. Harry nods. “This is where I store everyone's bad energy whenever I get stuck with it. They’re in little viles, you know what I mean? Those little tubes?”
“Yeah.”
“I think the tubes broke when it fell… I can never open this box again because then the bad energy will get out and go back to their owner's body.”
Harry doesn’t say anything, trying to take in what Y/N just told him. It wasn’t the oddest thing he’s heard since he met her. “Is any of my bad energy in there?”
“Yes. Remember when we were at the Greek food place?”
Harry smiles at the memory. “How could I forget? I think that was the day that I knew I had to get to know ya. I was properly obsessed with the idea of runnin’ into you again for days.” Y/N looks away as she usually does when he gets her flustered but this time Harry moves closer to her, snaking his arms around her waist.
“Thank you for always makin’ sure ‘m happy, love,” Harry’s lips are dangerously close to hers, so close that she can smell the scent of mint on his breath. “You don’t even have to touch me to make me happy. Jus’ bein’ near you is enough.” Y/N lets out a shaky breath, not trusting her voice enough to do anything other than nod. Both of their hearts are about to beat out of their chests.
“I’d do anything to make you happy, Harry,” Y/N finally says, staring directly into his eyes. “You deserve all the happiness this life has to offer you.”
“Likewise,” Harry says, feeling intoxicated from standing so close to her. “Y/N, can I ask you something?”
“Of course.”
“Can I kiss you?”
Y/N gives Harry the biggest smile before standing on her tiptoes, smushing her lips against Harry’s. His eyes shut as he melts into the kiss, having to remind himself to stop smiling so he can properly kiss her back. Her lips are soft, and she tastes just as sweet as she actually is. His entire body tingles and his chest burns due to lack of oxygen, but he was determined not to break the kiss first. His stomach twisted from all the butterflies he had, but it was a feeling no one had made him feel in a long, long time.
Y/N’s the first one to break the kiss. She giggles as she rests her head against Harry’s chest, gasping slightly for air. “You’re a very good kisser.”
“You too.” Harry’s breathless. He doesn’t want to pull away from her so he settles on intaking short bursts of air.
“I’m gonna get changed before I decide to stand here and just kiss you all day,” Y/N tells him, finally breaking their contact. “Can you wait in the living room?”
“I wouldn’t hate that,” Harry says as he places a quick peck on her lips. “‘M gonna go put your flowers in something so they don’t die. Y’think Sapphire will come out of hiding and let me pet her since her mommy finally let me kiss her?”
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
“I thought we were getting lunch?”
Y/N had been sat in Harry’s passenger seat for slightly over an hour now, his hand hardly leaving hers the entire time. He was yellow for the most part (except when Y/N would speak he turned pink). Song after song played lowly over the stereo, but it was mainly just background noise–– neither one of them was really listening to it.
“We are.”
“Why are we driving so far?”
“I wanna take you to a really nice spot. Is that okay?”
“Are we almost there?” She stares intensely at Harry and she knows he can feel her eyes on him. He flashes red for a moment causing Y/N to cock her head in confusion. “Why are you nervous?”
“I don’t want you to think our date is boring.”
“Why would I think it’s boring?”
“Have you ever been to Balboa Park? San Diego?” Harry tears his eyes from the road briefly to look at her and he’s relieved to see a look of excitement in her eyes.
“I’ve never been but from the pictures I’ve seen it looks sooo beautiful! Are we going there?” Her grip on his hand tightens slightly.
“Mhm,” Y/N sees Harry visibly relax. “Figure we could grab a bite after? Or before, depending on how hungry you are.”
“We should eat before! Are we allowed to eat in the park? We should have a picnic–– can we do that?” Y/N is talking a mile a minute, too excited to slow down. She turns in the passenger seat to face Harry fully, hand still in his. “We’re going to the gardens, right?”
“We’re doin’ whatever you want, love. I have some things planned that I think you would like but nothing’s set in stone.”
Y/N loves the fact that Harry took it upon himself to plan out their day. She decides she would go along with whatever he had planned, seeing as he’s been there before and she hasn’t.
They arrive at the park approximately thirty minutes later and Y/N quickly unbuckles her seatbelt and lets herself out of the car before Harry can open the door for her himself. He laughs to himself at her excitement.
“Where are we going first?” Y/N reaches for Harry’s hand seemingly out of habit, not thinking twice before doing so. If she wasn’t busy looking around in awe, she’d see Harry looking down at their interlocked fingers with a big smile on his face.
“How ‘bout we get you something to eat first then go find a spot to have a lil’ picnic? The last time I was here I remember seein’ people eating under this ginormous tree–”
“Okay!” Y/N agrees cheerily, dragging Harry through the parking lot. She was leading the way even though she had no clue where she was going. “Wait, where are we going?”
“How about I lead the way?” Harry is a mixture of green and yellow. He was happy and enjoying the prospect of a nature-filled day.
“Harry, what’s your favorite part about nature?”
“What’s tha’?”
“I see that you like nature, so I just wanted to know what you liked the most about it,” Y/N replies, swinging their hands.
“It’s calming. I think ‘ve written some of my best songs surrounded by trees and water and things like that. What do you like the most about nature?”
“It’s beautiful. Plants help us and we help them.”
Harry smiles in response to her answer but says nothing, walking her the rest of the way through the parking lot and to the entrance of the park. Once inside they set out on finding something to quickly fill their stomachs with, not wanting to waste too much time eating.
“How do sandwiches sound?” Harry asks, nodding his head in the direction of a sandwich shop. “Quick and easy, isn’t it?”
“Can we still eat them under the fig tree?”
“Whatever you’d like, darling. S’your world, ‘m just livin’ in it.”
Even though he lets out a chuckle after saying that, Y/N knew he was being completely serious.
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
Harry could listen to Y/N talk all day. He never wanted to stop hearing her sweet voice. Y/N’s attention was fixated on the beautiful, blooming gardens–– but Harry was only fixated on her.
She pointed out nearly everything they saw, impressing Harry with her knowledge on plant names and pointless information on how to care for them. She asked Harry to stand in front of all her favorite plants so she could take a picture of him to “commemorate the day” and Harry was more than willing to do so. Anything to keep a smile on her face. Y/N had grown tired of carrying her purse over her shoulder about an hour back and Harry even offered to wear it for her so she wouldn’t have a sore shoulder the next morning.
They decided to call it quits once the sun started setting, walking hand in hand quietly back to Harry’s car. He opens the door for her and checks to make sure she’s all the way in before slamming it shut and walking around to his side. He immediately reaches for her hand again, loving the way it felt in his way too much to not hold it at all times.
“Did you have a good time today?” Harry asks, looking at Y/N’s face in the dim light. She nods sheepishly, looking down at the hands.
“I had an amazing time. I can’t believe you drove all the way out here just for me,” she traces her fingers over one of Harry’s rings. “Thank you for today.”
“How many times have I gotta tell ya I’d do anything for you?” Harry questions, leaning over the center console to be closer to her. “Loved seein’ that beautiful smile on your face today. Made me happy.”
“You’re just saying that…”
“Oh, come off it,” Harry jokes, kissing her cheek before leaning back over to start his car. “Know you saw how happy I was the whole day. S’all because of you.”
Out of the corner of his eye, Harry sees Y/N lean over as he previously was so her face is close to his. She gently places the hand that was holding Harry’s on his face and turns his head so he’s fully facing her, licking her lips before she connects them with his. Harry melts into the kiss as he did earlier, feeling as if time stopped when their lips were pressed together. It was the most gentle, loving kiss Harry ever shared with another person.
He could get used to this.

"Please, anybody... Just help me."
Saying you were exhausted would have been an understatement. After reuniting with your sibling, you had been frantically searching for clues about khaenri'ah and ways to Inazuma. With no luck, you couldn't find any traces of Dainsleif or of your twin. The ruins had been sealed and you had no idea what happened to the inverted statue or the corpse you had found there. Desperately, you clung into every little information you had, you would have turned every rock on this archon damned continent if you had to, which is what led you into those ruins near Guilli plains.
Walking along the destroyed buildings your eyes caught sight of a dandelion and you froze. You missed them so much, why couldn't they go back home with you? All you ever wanted was to be by their side why, why were they running away from you?
You remembered your travels, the moments you shared together, their protectiveness over you, the fondness in their eyes when you smiled at them. You remember the times you got hurt and healed one another with your now missing powers. You remember sleeping by their side and being grateful to the universe to let you keep your ray of sunshine everywhere with you. How ironic.
What had they meant 'once you reach the end of your journey' ? What does that even mean? Stupid twin, if they knew you were here the whole time, why hadn't they come to you? Why were they always leaving just when they were within your grasp? Why? Did they know how much you missed them and how much your heart broke when you finally saw them? Did they?
You only realized you were crying when a small gust of wind had your wet cheek react to the cold, breaking your train of thought. Wind.
The wind is everywhere, you think, free as a bird, always accompanying every citizen of this world, never truly alone. With this in mind, you resumed your exploring, slower this time.
A sigh escaped your mouth. You didn't want to admit it, but the wind did comfort you a little. Almost as if he was here. God of freedom and of the breeze, he was more a singer than a protector and you couldn't bear to think about him. Was it true? What Dain said... Did he destroy this nation? Was he the cause of the scenery that still haunted your nightmares up until 500 years later? Your brain simply couldn't accept that Venti, your Venti, you catch yourself thinking, could have made such an act of wrath. He was the epitome of freedom, why would he take the very thing he based all of his existence on from mere mortals? Barbatos simply couldn't be afraid of being overpowered, he didn't even care about power. All he wanted was freedom and happiness for his people. Surley this couldn't be right?
But then again, who were you to deny the wipe out of an entire nation? The gods did it. They were afraid that Celestia would be overthrown by the pride of humankind, the destruction of khaenri'ah by divine beings was a fact. There was no misunderstanding about this. That was the one thing you were sure of. So why did you feel like crying even more now?
The mere thought of a gentle soul such as Venti committing innocent people to an eternity of suffering didn't sit right with you. Even when his dearest friend Dvalin had turned against him, he didn't try to stop him, didn't even ask the dragon to save him. He healed and helped him, gave him a choice.
'What is freedom if demanded of you by a god?' was the same person that asked this question the same one who committed mass murder? Genocide?
Did the little wine-lover bard you had grown fond of destroy all hopes and light your kin had?
You remember that night when he freed Stanley from his burden, freed his and his friends' spirits. You had marveled at his action, in that instant he was a god, and he definitely hadn't struck you as a murderer. You remember that look of silent pain and grief in his eyes when he sang the tales of the nameless bard he had taken the appearance of. You knew he trusted you enough to share his story, something so personal, you could almost feel the war that took down the tyrant of Mond. Oh how much you cherished that evening, treating him to some well deserved dandelion wine afterwards, his favorite, and asking him to sing you more about the time where was nothing but the spirit of a breeze.
Your heart broke a little, remembering his rosy cheeks and drunk smile, you wish you could talk to him, ask him what happened. What did he do, was he really as dangerous as you had been told? If so, then why did you feel so good around him? Why did you feel like you could give hi-
You stopped walking upon seeing a ruin guard up ahead in the distance. You're so stupid, you think. Feeling this way is not gonna get you anywhere, especially with how the bard had been missing for a few weeks now. Ever since you had last seen your sibling.
Where was he, where was he wandering off to? You walk towards the disabled ruin guard, not really paying any mind to it, still thinking about the god you longed to meet with. If you could see him, what would you even say? Would he even answer your questions? Why did your stomach feel so light and funny when you thought about seeing him, why aren't you angrier?
You're almost at the killing machine's level now, so lost in your thought you don't notice the five other similar robots hidden behind a wall next to it. You notice them only when it's too late and you've already turned them on while thinking about examining them and collecting their serial numbers. When you hear the familiar tick of the mechanism turning on, you internally panic and think about running away only to calm down moments later and think to yourself that you can simply beat it and take what you came here for. Even if you are emotionally and physically tired, you can manage, you think.
That was before hearing five other consecutive ticks right after it, and all around you.
Turning around, your gaze falls upon the small army of field tillers. Fuck.
Paimon wasn't with you today, you had asked for some time alone which she hesitantly accepted, so you couldn't ask her to go fetch help. You would have been worried if you had all your capacities but with the state you were in, you were wondering how you were going to survive this fight. You were alone, none of your companions with you, and deeply weakened by the busy day you had and the few hours of sleep you had managed to steal away from the night. Was it today you would meet your doom, with all your questions and uncertainties unanswered?
You tried your best to fight with the strength you had left, but quickly grew desperate after what felt like hours of efforts to swing your blade and being able to only take one monster down out of the six. It didn't help that you got injured along the way, their blows becoming harder and harder to dodge. After being thrown on the grown for the third time, you understood you had at least two broken ribs and that your shaking legs would soon fail you as well.
Fear crept upon you, you would die here today, alone. Alone. You couldn't talk to your sibling after all, couldn't understand. You didn't even get to talk to him one last time. Him... You would die without the knowledge of the truth about your bard. You would die alone. You didn't want that, you couldn't look death straight in the eye.
"Please, anybody... Just help me."
-
In Mondstadt, there was a musician, a weird singer everyone had heard about at least once. He lived off of his songs and was mostly known for having a great story-telling and being an alcoholic.
The number of people who knew the true nature of his identity were few and he was perfectly content with that. He didn't wish to be a god anymore, his gnosis had been taken away anyway and it's not like he had any power over the city of wind nowadays. Even if his people still worshipped him as Barbatos, it didn't sit right with him to be called a god anymore. It actually never did, he thinks to himself with a smile, he never really took any responsibilities that came with the divine title which is why he was so weak today. But it didn't matter to him, his smile turns into a soft giggle.
Sitting on a mill that was once born from his steps he looks fondly over the city he founded. Even if they were godless, the citizens were still thriving and free. He cared oh so very deeply about the place even if he rarely, if not never, showed the affection within his heart. He remembers the day he grew strong enough to dispel the storms over his actual Mondstadt, and made the weather gentle enough so that there was no need for fireplaces. Nowadays, he loves watching birds nest into the chimney tops and seeing them found their own home. It gave him a sense of belonging like no other, not above his people, but walking among them and watching them nest into this cocoon he created. He was proud of what happened to his land and would do it all over again if he had to.
Especially since it led to him meeting you. This thought doesn't catch him off guard, you often roamed around in his mind after all, and it's not like he didn't write at least three songs about you and your feat, your smile, your courage...
Ah there he goes again, rambling about you in a whisper. He turns around to the statue of him his people erected in his honor, chuckling at how they never made the connection with his signature braids. His, but not really his, since he had stolen this form from someone who was much more deserving of this power than him. Seeing his friend being honored with the statues of the seven around the land made him happy, he hoped that it was a good enough thank you gift in return for everything that the bard whom he couldn't even remember the name of anymore did for him.
Upon gazing at the statue, he remembered telling you of his long gone friend. It was the first time he had talked about him to someone else, he didn't even mention it to Venessa, she who made him believe in himself again. He could ask himself why, but he simply knew that you had something different, more than meets the eye. Perhaps it was because you weren't from Teyvat, or perhaps it was just you being as simple as your natural self but he was simply and utterly captivated by your being. You inspired him to no end, at first he thought it was because he had never met someone like you and he loved new things! But as time grew and he got to know you, he understood quickly the meaning and depth of his passions. He thought of it with a light chuckle, content with your presence alone. He really did need and want you around.
So why did he purposely avoid you like the plague?
The wind had brought to his ears that you had met with Dainsleif.
And your twin.
His first reaction was to search for you, talk to you, he wanted to be here to know what happened! You had searched so long, he couldn't contain himself, still listening to what the wind told him, he started running with excitement but... But wait, Dainsleif was... He told you what?
Oh.
So you heard about Khaenri'ah. He had stopped dead in his tracks and turned back, only sending a warm current of wind your way, hugging you from afar.
He wasn't ready to talk about this yet, not ready to face you and absolutely not ready to answer your questions. He was a coward, he thought, running away like that but what else could he do, really. It was only natural for him to be as uncatchable as air.
A sorry excuse to avoid the fact that even if his past had marvelous story like the one of the nameless bard, it also had its share of darkness, something he wasn't ready to dive back into. Especially not now when your arrival has been shaking this world up like it hasn't been since at least 500 years.
But oh, how he longed to see your face or to hear your voice. So he asked a breeze to report to him what you were up to, and where you were. Just in case! he tells himself, what if you needed help ehe? But he knows you're competent and you won't need the help of a weakling coward like him anytime soon. Or so he thought.
Because when the breeze only gives him a few words back, his blood runs cold.
"Please, anybody... Just help me."
-
As you murmured these words in your desperate state, not really for anyone but yourself as a last resort, a prayer of some sort, you tried to stand by leaning yourself on your sword and failing miserably. You didn't dare look up as you heard the loud footsteps of the metal giants coming your way. It was over, and you barely managed to accept it.
As you rested your forehead against the cold handle of your sword, you closed your eyes, tears starting to make their ways out of your closed eyelids. All you could feel was remorse.
A soft breeze moved your hair slightly and your chest felt like a black hole had taken place where your heart used to be, regretting to not have been able to meet him under the tree at Windrise one last time.
The breeze quickly grew stronger, until it felt unnatural and you looked up from the ground, only to close your eyes again immediately when you realized the wind was too powerful for you to keep them open. If you had struggled to see though, you would have been blinded by the white light that soon illuminated the whole ruins. You didn't have enough time to register the situation when you felt a hand being laid atop your shoulder, snaking around your collarbones and pulling you back into... nothing? Another arm circled your weak form and a voice you immediately recognized said
"I've dealt with things worse than you, now crumble."
You realized that if you couldn't feel a chest behind you while still being embraced by his arms, it was because he was floating above you, and not standing behind you. A look in his direction confirmed your suspicions but what stunned you wasn't the fact that he was flying, but the attire he wore. Barely covering his body, a white set made of materials that seemed like clouds and liquid gold contrasted perfectly with his regular green clothes. His hair was glowing green and his eyes that were focused on the ruin guards up ahead had a marvelous shine that you had never seen before. He had that same aura he did the night he freed Stanley, but there was also something different about the way his hands gripped you a little too tightly or the way his voice sounded.
"Venti.." You muttered his name, relief and affection flooding you all at once, in his presence you felt as if nothing bad could happen to you. How foolish could you be, just a few hours ago you were speculating wether or not he had wiped out an entire civilisation and now here you were, being saved by him and feeling safer than you had in months.
"Close your eyes, I don't want give you a headache" he said, slowly floating legs first towards the ground. His unusually serious voice surprised you (and him) but you did as he told you. Letting go of your sword and leaning back into him, you let him deal with the monsters ahead of you.
"It's okay, it's over now" he kneeled to be at your level, his arms still wrapped around you, and you didn't have the energy to fight your urge of nuzzling into him. "I'll always be here for you, wherever there is wind, remember I'm here too. You only need to ask."
Being protected by a god really didn't feel that bad. Especially when you were in love with said god.
