Watermelon sugar: "They said it was stupid. You said "fuck it, I'm done" Does this mean that Louis gave into the pressure because those people told him it was not gonna last? Both lines say the same. No, love. I do not think that it is what both of them mean. Let me explain it to you, baby. Usually I do not really do this yet, because I want to be sure that those are the original lyrics. However, you sound so stressed, that is why I would love to help you.

First, I will analyse the lyrics apart from one another, maybe it will get a bit more clear.

"Oh, I can't believe I gave into the pressure They said a love like this would never last. So I cut you off 'Cause I didn't know no better"

Louis says that he can not believe he gave into the pressure, he can not believe he proved those people (who said they would not last) right. He also means that he can not believe he did not hold on through all the closeting stuff his label put him and Harry through.

Then he says that those people told them their relationship would not last, due to the pressure and fame. People get told that most relationships in Hollywood do not survive.

So he cut Harry off, he means he did not listent Harry and basically shut him out, mentally. He did that because he did not know better.

Summary/ explanation: he basically means that when they fought and took a break he proved those people right. He cut Harry off because he thought, after the fight, that those people were right because by taking a break he basically 'proved' that to them. Then, later you can see that Louis just wished he and Harry could have 'the talk' and get back together. He never stopped loving Harry, he was just in pain of the thought of him and Harry not being forever.

Harrys lyrics: "They said it was stupid. You said "**** it, I'm done"

Summary/ explanation: he lyrics overlay one another. This lyrics basically insinuates that the same people told him and Louis that they would not make it. Then, Harry gives a glimpse of the thing Louis wrote too. He basically says that Louis 'gave up'. The two lines give the same hint. They say that Louis proved those people right, that is all.

I have to add that those people said Larry wouls not survive more than one time through the years. So, if Louis would give up on his and Harrys relationship because of what people said, he would have done that earlier. In strong, he insists on staying together and he says Harry makes him strong. He also does the same in Fireproof and other songs. Not to mention that Louis showed us more than once that he is proud of his and Harry's relationship and that no one will tell them no.
