More Things That Happened In Pale
A dog dies and it's so sad that the moon starts bleeding.
An army of creepy children stand watch as security for town council meetings.
A memory wipe is performed with a very passionate kiss, while the memory-wiper's wife watches on.
An important character is a mysterious faceless woman who is always obscured by her surroundings, even in plain sight, so that people can't see her non-face.
A self-aware crazy woman follows goblins to a high school hockey game, then sees her neighbors and has to make small talk with them about the weather.
To keep a murder witness from talking, a man takes her kidney damage (not cures, takes).
I have misled you again, this is just the prologue.
#wildbow#pale#pale web serial#louise bayer#blood run cold#wildbow pointed out some minor errors that I fixed#kidney damage is funnier than diabetes anyway

It's based on the Uncool 50, which I did a couple of years ago, telling the story of my life through songs. This time, I'm listing great songs. Ones that have stood the test of time, and still sound great today.

Summary, Week 7
Bauhaus and Beyond Bauhaus designers explored purity of form, geometry, material integrity, and function to produce an entirely new aesthetic. Their functional rationalism was perfectly suited to tubular steel, and many of the most successful Bauhaus designs include metal tubing. Designers around the world were aware of the new ideas being explored in Germany. American designers, with a greater interest in manufacturing, and with an interest in consumer needs, incorporated some Bauhaus thinking, and LOTS of tubular steel, to create production furniture with less artistic integrity, but a much wider acceptance. The struggle to balance good design with ease of manufacture, and to include customer preferences, is visible in the goods produced by American Industrial Designers at this time. people you must know: • marcel breuer • marianne brandt • wilhelm wagenfeld • mies van der rohe • le corbusier • charlotte perriand • peter behrens • eileen gray • donald deskey • gilbert rohde people you really should know: • henry van de velde • walter gropius • lilly reich • poul henningsen • gerrit rietveld • kem weber people you could know, if you want to know more people: • mart stam • lilly reich • pierre jeanneret • hans & wassili luckhardt • laszlo moholy-nagy • rené herbst • wolfgang hoffmann

*****
So.. Rush Limbaugh got the Medal of Freedom. Oh my.
*****
Shadow Inc. owned by former Clinton and Obama staffers made an app that thoroughly fucked up the Iowa caucus. It was good at calculating the results but not delivering them. And hey.. Wolf Blitzer, stay off the phone with people that are trying to get those results. Let them just do their job!!
*****
Brooklyn 99 is back and Vanessa Bayer is there!!!
*****
Rod Blagojevich is out and hitting every show that will have him. Trump pardoned him along with 10 other criminals including Ed DeBartolo Jr., Mike Milken and Bernard Kerik.

Forty thousand kids won’t get free lunch because Trump threw them off food stamps. The two usually go hand in hand. Getting food stamps automatically sets a kid up for the free lunch program.
*****
Over 1000 former DOJ officials have asked Bill Barr to resign.** 70 former Senators have written an open letter to congress to tell them they are not fulfilling their congressional duties.**” Yoo Hoo! Bush, Clinton, Carter, Obama, you’re up.” –Patricia Arquette

Denny Hamlin won the 2020 Daytona 500.
*****
Can’t we get some real gigs for Rainn Wilson and Curtis Armstrong? Ok, so Cyrtis Armstrong was on Stumptown so thank goodness for that! They can do better than Dominoes and Little Caesars ads. And how funny is it that Dominoes, known for its very Chrustian owners use a Risky Business ( a film about prostitutes) ad for their product. Hmm.
*****Hey.. Comics, quit bringing up Trump and his former womanizing. It didn’t work with Clinton and it won’t work here. People just don’t seem to care. Focus on the real damage he is doing.
*****
Scary Clown is working on opening nearly a million acres of land in Utah for energy exploration that had been a National monument. Redford and Romney can’t be happy about that.

A new animated series from a brand new production company owned by Natasha Lyonne and Maya Rudolph looks promising. Look for The Hospital.

Southern Illinois University is giving Bob Odenkirk an honorary degree.
*****
Ukranian immigrants Lt. Col. Vindman and his twin brother are out. Ambassador to the EU Sonland is out.
*****
The Democrats had a debate on Feb. 7 . At Andrew Yang’s first chance to speak, he rehashed his stump speech. I mean, c’mon give us something new. There really seemed to be a restrained nervousness on the stage that night. Klobachar seemed too needy but she got great reviews. Biden called Buttigieg ‘a friend ‘ a couple of times. Mayor Pete did quite well. ** Deval Patrick is out** Andrew Yang is out.**Michael Bennet is out** Another debate was on Feb. 19.** Bloomberg/Yang? Is this true?
*****
Check out the new series, Hunters. It is awesome, funny and terrifying!
*****
Dozens of Native American women and girls have disappeared from Big Horn county, Montana over the last few years. The victims were later found dead and Trump has put a federal task force together.
*****
Grassley and Wyden are trying to get lower prescription drug prices but Moscow Mitch won’t bring the proposal to the floor. Others are looking to get some traction on HR3.
*****
JSW Steel has sued the Trump administration for refusing to exempt it from paying the levies on slabs of steel that the company imports.
*****
64 women have filed sexual harassment or discrimination lawsuits against Mike Bloomberg. I’m not a fan of the guy but it does seem sort of coincidental. It does not seem to matter cuz all his ads seem to be working, he is picking up steam. Tom Steyer is gaining a bit of momentum as well.
*****
The corona virus has brought us Covid 19. 600 people are being held in quarantine camps that the military has set up. Italy has new cases and the disease is spreading. Scary Clown is trying to spin it all.
*****
ICE is being sent into sanctuary cities to cause trouble for immigrants.
*****
You have to check out Horse girl with Alison Brie, Molly Shannon and Matthew Gray Gubler on Netflix .
*****
Rapper Larry Sanders AKA LV is letting us in on a miscarriage of justice he has had to live thru. LV, best known for his work on Coolio’s Gangsters Paradise, was approached by police and later put on the Calgang database. The practice put about 80,000 mostly African Americans on a sort of gang list. In a 2016 audit it was found that there were many inaccuracies including the names of babes who could not possibly be gang affiliated.

The Oscars were held Feb. 9. Brad Pitt and the production design team won for Once upon a Time in Hollywood. Woo Hoo! Word is that Pitt has hired a speech writer to write his acceptances. JoJo Rabbit won for adapted screenplay. Little Women won for Little Women and Toy Story 4 for animated film. Laura Dern won best supporting actress. Renee Zellweger and Joaquin Phoenix too home the top actor prizes. Parasite surprised everybody and won best pic and got Bong Joon Ho a best director statue. My best dressed were Billy Porter, Antonio Banderes and his date, Janelle Monae ( her opening seemed to make some in the audience uncomfortable), Robert DeNiro, Laura Dern, Diane Ladd, Geena Davis, Regina King, Charlize Theron, Adam Driver, Joanne Tucker, Cynthia Erivo, Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman and Kathy Bates, I don’t know what Kristen Wiig and Idina Menzel were thinking. Wiig always has a unique style so I have to admire that. ** The ratings were down. I have heard people saying they just don’t watch award shows or late night shows anymore because they are afraid things will get political. Funny, that is part of the reason I watch!
*****
Tom Papa was pontificating about a real dog show that should have REAL dogs. It would make a great weekly show with people bringing on their dogs.
*****
The goalies of the Hurricanes were out of commission and David Ayres, the Zamboni driver was brought in to help and the won against the Maple Leafs. Woo Hoo!!
*****
Hooray for New Hampshire and their use of paper ballots. Things in the campaign got a little shook up with Bernie taking the top followed by Pete and Amy.
*****
2 years of research in Canada has brought the announcement of a new discovery. Skull fragments that were cleaned and collected about 10 years ago have been named Thanatotheristes or the reaper of death. The discovery helps us all learn more about the early times of Tyrannosaurids, a sub group that includes T.Rex.
*****
New Jersey has a ban on self- serve pumps and another state is talking about getting in on the action. The gas station attendant act has been proposed in Illinois.
*****
Van Jones was right when he said we shouldn’t give Trump any press coverage for a week. He would hate it. Trump loves the old adage of bad publicity is better than none because he just must have attention. It would never work for they just can’t resist.** Joe Mcguire is out after he warned of Russian interference. If you want to keep your job in this administration, do not tell the truth. Now at the Department of National Intelligence is Johnny Mcentee , a 29 year old former football player who worked on the campaign. He immediately called department heads and said he wanted lists of never Trumpers in their offices. ** And who is in charge of weeding out the people in the government who may be disloyal to Scary Clown? Well, it is none other than Virginia Thomas, wife of Supreme Court justice Clarence. She calls it the list of snakes. Trump is now saying he even wants liberal judges on the Supreme Court to recuse themselves when it comes to “Trump related cases”. It just keeps getting worse.
*****
Trump had fun in India. He should, his business has 5 projects going there right now worth 1.5 billion.
*****
Harvey Weinstein was found guilty of rape and criminal sexual assault. He was not found guilty of all the charges that included predatory behavior.
*****
Andrew Yang is a new correspondent at CNN. He tells us that he is getting word from former donors that Bloomberg is calling those big donors. Allegedly he is telling them they do not have to donate to his campaign because he can afford his own campaign but he still won’t forget them. He would like them to save their money and not give money to other democrats running either.** And I am so sick of talking heads trying to tell us to play it safe. We are not as stupid as we look, thank you!! ** Now there is a firestorm about Bernie telling the world that the education program that Castro implemented was a good thing. I understand the anger and it could not have come at a worse time and he did it to himself. BUT.. We are adults and we have to be able to talk about things as they really are, not in sound bites. Castro sucked and history teaches us that bad people do good things occasionally and good people do bad things once in a while. ** It seems that everyone was in agreement that we would all gather behind the winner of the democratic campaign to beat Trump. Suddenly when it could be Bernie, everybody is bitching.
*****
This month held 2 more Democratic debates. The Nevada debate got pretty heated. I see that Mayor Pete and Bloomberg are lefties (left handed that is). Pete always looked poised and articulate which I appreciate and he got in a good one when he mentioned that the party should choose someone who is actually a democrat. Bernie seemed a little rattled by that. Later Pete really dressed down Amy Klobuchar and made himself look like a dick. Joe Biden jumped in with his credits occasionally but often seemed a bit lost. He slammed back that they were all talking about the health care plane he helped to create and that he himself had dealt with the Mexican President. His name came up after it was mentioned that Amy could not remember the President’s name. The gloves were off with Bloomberg as Elizabeth Warren called him out on Billionaires and NDA’s. I loved the interaction but realistically Mr. Mike can’t just release people from agreements they made in an NDA, especially if it did not involve him. Bloomberg sounded pompous and clueless about the world outside of his company. He got a moan when he said he couldn’t exactly use turbo tax and when he said he may have told a few jokes that women didn’t like. He brushed off his taxes much like Trump does. The former mayor of NY called out socialists as communists. Klobuchar had the best comeback of the night when she was told her health care plan could fit on a post it. She proclaimed that the post it was invented in her state of Minnesota. Again, there were people shouting from the audience as Joe tried to talk. C’mon give everybody an equal chance.
*****
The South Carolina debate was fiery as well. The CBS debate was hosted by Gayle King and Norah O’Donnell. Bloomberg was booed right off the bat about Russia helping Bernie but he late had many cheers. He and Biden and Steyer had some real support there. Tom Steyer was actually quite impressive and seemed well spoken. He was the only one who brought up the impeachment. He had a great point that we all know that republicans who did not convict Trump are complicit in the Russian meddling. Then he ruined it all by being alarmist with his fear. He warned us off the former republican and the socialists. I loved Bernie’s ideas about small business’s getting in on the marijuana business and not letting big corporations taking it over. He is also the only one in debates that I have seen consistently bring up Native Americans. Biden again kept jumping in to tell us that he did this or that. Amy disagreed about a bill he claimed to have written. Warren said “dig in” numerous times. She went for the jugular with Bloomberg when she said a former female employee of his said to “kill it” in response to her pregnancy. He denied it but it sure is memorable. She did make great points that he has given much money to Linsey Graham’s campaign as well as other republican runs including against her. BTW he also gave 2.3 mil to Rick Snyder, the Gov of Michigan after the water crisis was well known. I love that Amy is always saying that we shouldn’t fight amongst ourselves but she just does not have the votes so she needs to go. Bernie got some boos about guns for he seems the softest in that area.
*****
Joe Biden won the South Carolina primary in a big way.
*****
Dick Van Dyke, Sarah Silverman and Public Enemy among others will be at the Bernie Sanders rally in L.A. on March 1.
*****
Just think what the 400 million that Bloomberg spent on his campaign could have done for the debt of the average American. Instead of a campaign for a presidency that he can’t win, he could have helped so many get a leg up.
*****
I don’t understand why “respected” journalists like Chuck Todd don’t throw W H reps off the set when they disrespect him or his colleagues with fake news jabs.
*****
Bob Moore of Bob’s Red Mill is giving his company away to his employees. Now, that’s a boss!!
*****
Bone, Thugs and Harmony have made a deal with Buffalo Wild Wings to rename themselves Boneless thugs and Harmony. The publicity stunt is to promote boneless wings.
*****
NASA is hiring.
*****
Scotland has made feminine sanitary products free!!
*****
Is this true? There were pigeons in Nevada with MAGA hats glued to their heads??
*****
The final Criminal Minds has aired. CBS often aired double episodes which made it seem like they really wanted to get rid of it. Kirsten Vangsness and Erica Messer wrote the final episode which seemed to give special attention to Penelope and Reid as they were the originals. The other characters seemed a little overlooked but they all had happy endings. Where was Reid’s new girlfriend? I was hoping to see Shemar Moore but it was great to see Reisgraf and Howell which are old favorites.
*****
Animal Kingdom returns to TNT on May 28.
*****
So there is a bit of a mess with the Roger Stone sentencing. Trump is hopping mad about the long sentence recommendation, Barr is said to be pretending to spar with the Prez, the DOJ is backing down and people are resigning.
*****

Origin of the name of Argonavis, Bang Dream's first male band.
Argonavis is named after Argo Navis, one of 48 constellations named by Ptolemy.
Argo Navis has been obsoleted by IAU because it was considered too large, too many stars which all of Greek, Latin both upper and lower cases used to make Bayer Designation, and the Southern Skies has been observed, also because of precision of equinox, most of its star couldn't be seen from the Mediterranean anymore.
Argo Navis literally means the Argo Ship.
It was the largest and southernmost constellation named by Ptolemy. After the southern hemisphere had been explored, some astronomers such as French Nicolas Louise de Lacalie & British Sir John Herschel who both had observed the Southern skies, proposed Argo Navis to be divided and later finalized by IAU.
Argo Navis the Argo ship is now divided into 3 constellations; Carina (the Keel), Puppis (the Stern), and Vela (the Sails).
Canopus, the brightest star of Carina, is the second brightest star in the Earth's night sky after Sirius in constellation Canis Major.

Man's Impact on the Environment Chateau de Challain la Potherie Challain la Potherie, Cande, Maine-et-Loire, France
The castle of Challain-la-Potherie is a castle located on the French town of Challain-la-Potherie in Maine-et-Loire . It was built from 1847 to 1854 in the Gothic Revival style then in vogue among the French aristocracy. Its architect, René Hodé, has designed many other castles of the same style in Anjou , but Challain remains the largest. Its size and its pace earned it the nickname of "little Chambord" or "Chambord Angevin".
The current castle replaces an older castle, whose origins date back to the Middle Ages. This castle was the seat of the lordship of Challain, and it has passed into the hands of many families during its history. At the mercy of the sales and inheritances, it was thus the successive property of the family of Châteaubriant and the family of Chambes before falling to members of the family of Nicolas Fouquet , then to the family of La Potherie, which has left his name to the castle and the village.
The castle built in the xix th century was ordered by Louise Ida La Potherie, last name, and her husband Count de La Rochefoucauld-Bayers. The choice of neogothic style is for them a way to highlight the family glory after the French Revolution . It is also a choice motivated by the tastes of the time, the neogothic then being fashionable among the aristocracy Angevin. The style adopted by René Hodé for the castle of Challain corresponds more precisely to the troubadour style , which comes to place a neo-medieval decor on a functional structure. The castle's internal structure and its general layout follow the neoclassical architectural rules elaborated in the 18th century.
Despite its grandeur and its important place in the history of Angevin architecture, the castle has experienced some decadence after the death of its sponsors. He knows many successive owners during the xx th century , and serves as a summer camp center for twenty years. It is finally transformed into luxury guest rooms in 2002.

Aspirin disappoints for avoiding first heart attack, stroke
Taking a low-dose aspirin every day has long been known to cut the chances of another heart attack, stroke or other heart problem in people who already have had one, but the risks don't outweigh the benefits for most other folks, major new research finds.
Although it's been used for more than a century, aspirin's value in many situations is still unclear. The latest studies are some of the largest and longest to test this pennies-a-day blood thinner in people who don't yet have heart disease or a blood vessel-related problem.
One found that aspirin did not help prevent first strokes or heart attacks in people at moderate risk for one because they had several health threats such as smoking, high blood pressure or high cholesterol.
Another tested aspirin in people with diabetes, who are more likely to develop or die from heart problems, and found that the modest benefit it gave was offset by a greater risk of serious bleeding.
Aspirin did not help prevent cancer as had been hoped.
And fish oil supplements, also tested in the study of people with diabetes, failed to help.
"There's been a lot of uncertainty among doctors around the world about prescribing aspirin" beyond those for whom it's now recommended, said one study leader, Dr. Jane Armitage of the University of Oxford in England. "If you're healthy, it's probably not worth taking it."
The research was discussed Sunday at the European Society of Cardiologymeeting in Munich. The aspirin studies used 100 milligrams a day, more than the 81-milligram pills commonly sold in the United States but still considered low dose. Adult strength is 325 milligrams.
WHO'S REALLY AT RISK?
A Boston-led study gave aspirin or dummy pills to 12,546 people who were thought to have a moderate risk of suffering a heart attack or stroke Law within a decade because of other health issues.
After five years, 4 percent of each group had suffered a heart problem — far fewer than expected, suggesting these people were actually at low risk, not moderate. Other medicines they were taking to lower blood pressure and cholesterol may have cut their heart risk so much that aspirin had little chance of helping more, said the study leader, Dr. J. Michael Gaziano of Brigham and Women's Hospital.
One percent of aspirin takers had stomach or intestinal bleeding, mostly mild— twice as many as those on dummy pills. Aspirin users also had more nosebleeds, indigestion, reflux or belly pain.
Bayer sponsored the study, and many researchers consult for the aspirin maker. Results were published by the journal Lancet.
ASPIRIN FOR PEOPLE WITH DIABETES?
People with diabetes have a higher risk of heart problems and strokes from a blood clot, but also a higher risk of bleeding. Guidelines vary on which of them should consider aspirin.
Oxford researchers randomly assigned 15,480 adults with Type 1 or 2 diabetes but otherwise in good health and with no history of heart problems to take either aspirin, 1 gram of fish oil, both substances, or dummy pills every day.
After seven and a half years, there were fewer heart problems among aspirin users but more cases of serious bleeding, so they largely traded one risk for another.
FISH OIL RESULTS
The same study also tested omega-3 fatty acids, the good oils found in salmon, tuna and other fish. Supplement takers fared no better than those given dummy capsules — 9 percent of each group suffered a heart problem.
"We feel very confident that there doesn't seem to be a role for fish oil supplements for preventing heart disease," said study leader Dr. Louise Bowman of the University of Oxford.
The British Heart Foundation was the study's main sponsor. Bayer and Mylan provided aspirin and fish oil, respectively. Results were published by the New England Journal of Medicine.
Other studies are testing different amounts and prescription versions of fish oil, "but I can't tell people go spend your money on it; we think it's probably better to eat fish," said Dr. Holly Andersen, a heart disease prevention specialist at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell who was not involved in the study.
The new research doesn't alter guidelines on aspirin or fish oil, said Dr. Nieca Goldberg, a cardiologist at NYU Langone Medical Center and an American Heart Association spokeswoman. They recommend fish oil only for certain heart failure patients and say it's reasonable to consider for people who have already suffered a heart attack.

Week 3
Natural Light
Flash from above (phone flashlight)
Flash from right (phone flashlight)
Flash from left (phone flashlight)
Yellow light (light from laptop screen)
Red light (light from laptop screen)
Lighting is an aspect of photography which affects mood, texture, tone, atmosphere, and brightness/darkness. In this week’s exercise we had to manipulate light in order to see how these components could be influenced. In my first photo, lighting is completely natural. It was taken at midday and we can see this as being reflected in the cool blue-like overall tone that the picture has. Since it is lit naturally, the lighting is diffused meaning no harsh shadows are cast and the ambiance is therefore much softer. The softer tone allows for the photo to convey a feeling of quiet and calm. The second shot utilizes flash from above. The narrow flash directly hits the apple, emphasizing the colors and texture of the fruit. Since I held the light at a farther distance from the apple, the harsh contrast and shadows created the illusion that the apple is smaller and narrower than it originally appears to be in the natural light. In the photos directing light from the right and left, the flashlight gives a sense of artificiality to the subject. The flash hits both the wall and the apple creating a cartoon-like shine on the apple, making it appear as if it is plastic instead of a natural food. The yellow light gives off a dull ambiance. Instead of viewing the apple as healthy and energizing, the yellow turns the subject association into one of sickness and caution. The red light can be seen as creating a mood of danger or power. It envelopes and sharpens the redness of the apple, making it appear more ominous than it it.

Bill Brandt - 1960-63
In this photo series Bill Brandt has photographed the eyes of several well-known photographers. Without having any background knowledge, a viewer would see the series as a photo set of eyes belonging to unidentifiable persons. According to the pledge next to the series in the gallery, Brandt meant for the series to be a “play on ideas of artistic vision and the camera lens”. Ernst, Nevelson, Giacometti, and Dubuffet were all known for their unique perspectives of the world. It could be abstractly interpreted that the intense focus on the eye, an organ of immortal vision, set within the timeworn faces of the artists is meant to portray that their works will leave a permanent impression on the world. It could also be interpreted that the eyes alone can communicate all of human expression. Framing wise, Brandt did not give much attention to centering the eyes identically, rather he decided to capture the focus at different points of views to further illustrate that all individuals have unique ways of viewing the world. The focus of all the photos is centered on the eye of the subject, so much so that the individual is entirely unidentifiable until the viewer reads the caption. Having set the series in black and white, Brandt was able to manipulate the varying tones of black and white. We can interpret this as the artist debunking the Manichean view and instead supporting a world of more dimension. The series is united by the fact that the subject in each photo is the eye of the individual.
Shortly Before Dawn
Herbert Bayer - 1932-39
The framing utilized by Bayer in this photograph immediately stands out. There exists two frames within the photo itself and each has its own distinctive foreground and background. The complexity of each frame increases as you move farther into the depth of the initial larger photo. The first frame has a shell in its foreground and a wooden twig in the background. The second frame houses the curved object. The third and final frame depicts the bone at the foreground with the shells and bark at the background. It is worth noting that the bark stands out over the frame, breaking the illusion that each frame is completely distinctive from the other. They are continuous with one another. The shadows of the items also aid to break this illusion. Bayer also framed the objects so that every item is placed farther to the right until the bark breaks the pattern at the very end by being placed slightly to the left instead. By placing the items at this angle, it creates the sense that the photo has much more depth than it does. It is almost as if Bayer is gradually zooming out of all the frames to create the final image. This framing could be interpreted to mean that though we tend to focus on the smaller details of life, we have to be able to take a step back (zoom out) and view all the finer components as one cohesive unit. We tend to categorize life into separate distinctive boxes, and forget that everything overlaps. It is easy to disregard the bigger picture in the rush of day to day life. I would say that the photo was taken at a larger aperture. Although the items seem to be getting smaller, they are still in a relatively sharp focus. The background is not exaggeratedly blurred either. So, the aperture would not be as sharp as an f/32 but it could possibly be in the twenties range.
