I agree that Louis is hopelessly in love with Lestat but Armand??? Louis doesn't love the gremlin, probably never did. He was usually distracted by Lestat's hallucination during their time together, he didn't like listening to him and Jacob Anderson outright called Armand a rebound for Louis
Louis never loved Armand. And of course he didn't, their relationship was built on nothing nice.
strongly disagree anon! i think there are multiple moments in paris and dubai (and even sf) where louis expresses his love for armand, in words, looks, and actions. i'm not gonna make this too long, so if there's one moment that proved to me that louis was in LOVE with armand (and certainly isn't just with him as some "sacrifice" on claudia's behalf) it's the sacre coeur scene:
why would louis say this if he didn't care about armand? not only does he want to make a vampire baby with him, he wants armand to experience the event so he can overcome his own maker trauma. and this ask has nothing to do with claudia. louis wants this to be for them, cause he's committed to armand. when i heard this i had to pause cause i realized louis really loved that man DOWN, and he didn't realize just how dangerous armand still was. then after he makes madeleine and she leaves with claudia, he doesn't leave paris. he stays with armand! cause he loves that man! madeleine didn't say all that about louis's love for armand for no reason. it's really not that hard to see. claudia was right - he was lestat's, and now he's armand's. tragedy ensues.
also fyi - i don't care what any of the cast/crew have to say - most people watch tv without commentary and understand it just fine. and as much as i love jacob anderson, he also says game of thrones s8 wasn't that bad so no i don't have to take his word for anything.
#anon ask#discourse with the vampire#loumand#i just rewatched the sacre couer kiss for these screenshots...peak romance y'all are blind#i do plan to make a longer post with evidence of loumand love because it's actually super obvious if you're paying attention#and not getting lost in discourse#plus the revisionist history re season 1 is wild#y'all making up entire love scenes for loustat but if y'all don't see loumand do missionary they're not real???#my twin#gremlin nurse

re: Armand & Lestat's motives for the trial, I'm sure s3 will fill in some blanks wrt Lestat (e.g. if/how he was forced to take part etc) though I didn't find his motives that confusing, i just hope the show does a good job w/ the additional context!
Armand though...I wonder if he'll give an honest account of it all one day? We can speculate that he sold Louis out bc he was disillusioned by their romance, felt unable to fully trust (i.e. control) him & feared inevitable abandonment, so he chose the safety of the coven. I'm satisfied by that explanation as is, I just wonder if we'll ever hear it from him. In the context of the interview itself he clearly had a stranglehold over the narrative & was never about to admit to anything too incriminating. He finally felt secure in his relationship w/ Louis imho and wanted to protect it. But now he has nothing left to lose & no particular reason to lie or cling to the "beige pillow" persona any more. I can't wait to see where they'll take him from here, I'd love to see him go full gremlin-mode for a bit??
Haha, yeah, I hope we see the "full gremlin" mode, too, tbh, preferably in the/a modern day DM chase part! (Though the past DM chase part is also high on my wish list^^)
I think it could be IMMENSE fun to have this (older) Daniel and Armand go at it *cackles* Including the microwaves and everything *g*
No, but on a more serious note, I do hope that the phase for Armand to tell a bit of his story, and to reflect on his part in it all will happen in the show as well - or, maybe, in the spin-off that was once planned, "Night Island".
But then... I mean, even in his own book Armand does not fully ... let's say "explain". He just offers the statement that "he could not love her" (Claudia), and that is why she didn't mean anything to him.
So, IDK. Because yes, his motives... are actually clear, right. He couldn't trust their love - and so he fell back to what he could trust. :/
I don't see that as feeling secure in the relationship with Louis though, on the contrary - he is constantly watching and "spinning the web", as Assad calls it... if he had felt secure, he would not have needed to do that, imho.
But in any case... I cannot wait to see where they take him. Such a fascinating character!!! And we are sooooo lucky with Assad :)

IwtV s2e3 rewatch notes
Because once again everything is happening so much and I need to take notes xD
(spoilers for show and books behind the read more)
So Daniel is allowed to leave the penthouse, didn't seem like it before. Is this a test to see what he'll do?
My man your handwriting is as bad as mine xD
"Where is the coven now(maybe)??? Today? Cell phone, Google, CCTV. SAN FRANCISCO, Polynesean Mary. Playboy Magazine. Alice. They'll come for Lenora and Kate next. nee (use??) Lestat as a doorstop/CLAUDIA!. MARA'S CAB. COKE BETTY GRABLE. THIS TIME I WONT SAVE YOUR LIFE"
so, "Raglan James". Why that character? If it is him. I guess can't have Mr. Superior General running around spying on vampires in Dubai but...this guy? So if it it's really Raglan my guess is he's not really Talamasca any longer and he's spying on vampires because he's looking for one recless enough to do the thing. And he thinks Daniel is his best bet on getting the intel.
"You're not the first to attempt this, Mr. Molloy. I could give you the names of four others who have and they're all dead. Or undead." Yeah, that tends to happen when you lot tangle with the vampires xD
"How many Rashids, Rahid?" I guess poor Real Rashid can be glad Daniel's not calling him Renfield LOL
"They are peaceful beings"....who eat people. My dear Real Rashid, I don't think that word means what you think it means xD
Armand stop making heart eyes at Daniel (actually don't xD)
Blenders mention (also they're not trying to sell them to you, you little gremlin, because you already bought so many xD)
Still very much "Sure, Jan" about Armand's story about how he met Lestat. I mean, he's clearly telling it with the agenda of making himself look better, understandable. But also he's making Nicki out to be some little fling Lestat didn't care about and he hates Gabrielle so much he's not even mentioning her. Sure, Jan xD
But dang every one is acting their hearts out and they're all so fabulously good at it.
You know the one thing really in character for Lestat in Armand's story? Dragging around a whole ass crucifix to make a point xD
Armand's definition of unharmed is as bad as Rashid's definition of peaceful LOL
"You led him there so he could destroy it." Hit the nail right on the head. Armand wants to get rid of the Children of Darkness? Oh look, a vampire who doesn't obey the rules and can help him with that. He wants to get rid of the Theatre de Vampires? Oh, look, a Louis.....
Still so amusing how Lestat's hair in Armand's story is always on point and how it's mostly terrible when Louis hallucinates him xD
I'm guessing these be their laws in Latin, my Latin is rusty and I never was much good at it but
looks like "III. Nullus lamia vampiris debet scibere historiam" for example and google translate says that's "No one should know the history of vampires" so....
I still think the whole sexual assault thing with Claudia is unnecessary. Bad choice to do that, imho.
It's so heart breaking to see how much Claudia wants to belong with the Theatre coven. Vampires are still arseholes and always will be.
When's a door not a door? xD sorry, but that's basically my only thought about Armand's entry there.
Not Louis taking a picture to see if Lestat's actually there or not.
I feel like it's a bad idea to open a chat conversation with Daniel when the vampires can read his mind. Seems like a sure way to be found out....
Louis getting philosophical and Daniel just hammering at buttons because his computer is being taken over is funny, ok? xD
Those Talamaska files are interesting. "PC Members Extinct 1556-1949", "Armand (Arun Amadeo)".
Hm, I feel like talking loud enough for Sartre to be annoyed by it about killing people seems like it's breaking your laws a lot, Armand LOL
Also Dream Lestat is being a right bitch, it's hilarious.
Louis, darling, you're losing it, you need therapy
How about telling Claudia they're all on to you? Would be a good idea before she joins their coven, one would think...
Why is Santiago's last name Windsor? xD like no, he does not look like a Windsor. I thought he was one of the one name gang, like Madonna LOL
And the Talamasca just spoiled Daniel about what will happen to the Theatre, rude xD
Of course Armand would make it out to have been Santiago who demanded he take out Louis. Sure, Jan.
So fucking dramatic to take Louis into the sewers and threaten him and then actually do nothing at all to him.
Louis, you really should not be turned on by people who just said they should kill you, dear xD
Yeah, casting Claudia as the baby is not fucked up, at all....
EDIT: also apparently this Theatre coven doesn't wall people up, they put them in the morgue fridges xD (which usually are one big fridge inside instead of many little ones but I guess they'll not do that here....)
over all, very fun episode, and stellar performances from the whole cast but especially Assad and Jacob.

IWTV Liveblog S2E8 " And that's the end of it. There's nothing left"
What is the other city in the opening? Nola?[checks YES]
The irony of Louis being buried alive in Paris like what Grace did in New Orleans but literally now
Get his ass Daniel. Don't left him forget we know he is a liar who lies
Daniel asking Louis if the rocks are still there in his ankles-We leave the damage so we don't forget the damage.
Oh how the mighty have fallen-Armand is now the lowest in the coven. He says it was a consequence of him staving Louis
God the music is beautiful and I could listen to it and Louis talk for hours
Louis says does anyone ever ask Lazerus if he wanted to be woken? I am not sure what the refers to-the bible? but i get the gist and it goes back to what I was so annoyed with in episode 5. Louis went into the sun and did not want to be saved. Here he is saying the same thing. Claudia is dead, he feels like he has nothing to live for and here Armand is again doing this shit for self serving purposes.
I was dead but my rage had risen! yesssss. KILL THEM ALL
Rage and Madness-a terrible combo
MEOW. He's lost it fr
Lowkey I loved the dead guy talking to Louis. It gave horror zombie vibes especially cause they are in a cemetery. I'm gonna need to borrow your truck lol so considerate
"I ain't fuckin worried about you!"- and that's the sad part of this Loumand story. It was never really about him. Also fuck Armand (lovingly)
He roasts Hans costume in his mad ravings lol
"If I am not with him I am nothing. "Girl stand up, you have known him for what 2 years?!
Light em up! (fall out boy gif)
Yeesss walk away from the fire without looking at it!You are too cool babes.
People are calling Louis Gay Blade and I can't. I just might have to cosplay it! I have the trench and a machete at the ready!
Estelle is hilarious. The London coven killed them because they started speaking English?! Girl. I could watch more of these two
Hello Francis! Get his ass Louis!
Why would Armand leave the evidence in the sewers?! Come on he was begging to get caught
"Hard to hold hands after he killed my sister and my fledgling" Not that had apparently after 49 yrs but again that goes back to him punishing himself
"Don't let him take credit for the workman role he played" This quick line shows Santiago was the real mastermind
Come to me Francis
I'm not sure I believe Santigo. I think he is saying all of that to rile Louis up. Armand might not have cared about Claudia but I can't imagine he would let them desecrate her ashes like that. At least i hope god.
My man said I got big balls
Louis deadly with those words. Francis never stood a chance.
Say that shit about Claudia to my face. Louis has never been hotter but he should have lit him on fire too
"All my rage and madness exited my body and nothing replaced it."Even now
My first thought when Armand said he made a choice was that he chose himself then I revised it that he chose him and Louis bc that felt like the only thinking that would make sense as to why they are still together but I WAS RIGHT. The gremlin chose himself!
I was hoping this Lestat scene was him chained up somewhere by the coven but its Magnus's tower. I thought it would be bigger(thats what she said gif)
I don't know why it went over my head watching it. I guess Louis and Armand's presence together threw me off(ahem) or else I would have expected the canon book even ts. I was looking forward to it even.
I still hope we revisit the trial or even get exposition as to why he came, why he participated and why he stayed after bc its not clear to me
Ok he answered why he stayed- To contemplate his behavior and origins in the place he was made.
I've come to kill you" Was Louis being deadass? Would he have tried
"I have to be willing and I'm not in the mood" Lestat is sooo annoying lol This is serious business
LOUIS! whatever pale proxy of me!! is wild. That'll do it(wasted gif)
Lestat's face! He can barely keep it together
"He loved you I can say that now." Cause you know the end is near that Daniel about to drop a bomb
I really can't believe the Vampire Sm has become so important lol. We were laughing. He's a whole Talamasca agent and we're laughing
uh oh that fucking piano note. Its on par with the MCR 'g' note now
Woooow Armand fdidn't save Louis just went along with the lie that he did
For all intents and purpuses Louis held his anger pretty well. I thought it would have brought down all of Dubai penthouse
I like the change that they made that Louis isn't a weak vampite. It would make sense that he can toss around Arman(especially if he isn't gonna fight back) because if Lestat has Akashas blood then so does Louis. They even say in the episode to remind us. My blood us your blood
Why set the laptop on fire?He doesn't want the book to come out now?
Louis coming home.My heart . And damn if home dont look good on him. he don't good in that ballcap
Is this the same night? Why is Louis in different clothes? And you couldn't have told me this wasn't an 80's 90's flashback with the cut of his clothes
Lestats and emotional support plank of wood
Can't lie I was hoping for the have you come back to me
this is a lot of exposition
Loustat hugging like they are finally home. fuck me up
Loustat a storm in a storm
Daniel id a vamp!!
Louis said come at me bro!I own the night!

This!!! Every time I watch that fight I'm like wow they really knew each other. Louis KNEW the real Armand. Not only did he know all the different sides to him (gremlin v nurse), he also knew how to accurately read his facial expressions ("there it is. the half-blank, half-apocalyptic look") which is a huge deal considering how much Armand masks. Furthermore, he knew Armand's coping mechanisms and his go-to responses to being hurt/ triggered ("does he wanna lick my boots or chop my hands off") and he knew exactly what to say to hurt him, ie., bringing up Marius and attacking his personality.
Irt attacking his personality, Louis calls Armand boring bc he knows it is the perfect insult to hurt Armand. And it works bc despite everything else Louis says, this is the one detail that Armand hyper focuses on. And from the glimpse we get of Armand and Lestat's relationship, it makes sense why calling Armand boring was such an effective insult. Even though Lestat told Armand that he was bored with everything except him, I think a part of Armand believes that Lestat left him bc he finally grew bored of him. (Obviously we don't even see half of this relationship and there are many other aspects to it but I think this is part of it). And Armand probably confided this to Louis, which is why Louis knew to hurt him with it.
That entire argument involved them using deep-rooted stuff that they'd confided to each other about to hurt each other. And Armand, knowing how sensitive Louis is about Claudia, goes too far by bringing her up. I don't think he meant it at all when he said Claudia didn't love Louis, he just said it to hurt him. And I don't think he did it to trigger Louis into suicide (as some ppl have suggested), but to get the upper hand and regain control over the argument/ situation (and over Louis in general). Which is such a foul move considering that he, you know, killed her. Armand should never be allowed to speak on Claudia ever!
Anyways, I used to think that after Armand erased Louis's San Fran memories, he doubled down on his masking and Louis stopped knowing him as well as he had but op is so right. Armand was masking in Dubai for Daniel and for the interview. Because in their bedroom, we see them still being as real with each other as they were in San Fran and getting into the same type of arguments (I genuinely believe that they've been having the same fight over and over again for decades). Even the Talamasca knew their patterns and knew planting those photos (assuming they're the ones who did it) would bait them into an argument š
I wish we got to see some of their softer moments where they were confiding in each other and being loving and tender, and I'm still holding out hope that they'll show it to us in s3 (or future seasons) but it is a delusional hope I fear.
The argument in 2x5 of iwtv is of course iconic. But it also shows that we actually get so little of the true Loumand dynamic and as much as Armand is a manipulating queen, they actually have shared a lot with each other? Like Louis clearly knows a lot more detail about Armand's backstory than the carefully curated stuff they mention to Daniel (like the chop my hands of thing is wild, but he also mentions the cult celibacy stuff). because going back to S2 Episode 3, Louis is the one who walks in and finishes Armand's story. And at the time I was like, "oh thats just the story Armand told him", but he KNOWS there is more - which means they are actively conspiring to present this angle to Daniel. Like we underestimate how much they were both collectively telling this narrative of their life/romance. Truly wild on rewatch. Like they were very competent as partners (in crime and lying) like can you imagine Loustat effectively collaborating at this level?
#but i enjoy them to spite every bitch centering a white man in the love story of two brown men#<prev tag#that made me laugh and yes absolutely#loumand#louis de pointe du lac#armand#iwtv

hahaha, EXCELLENT POINT. gremlin activity alarm triggered.
louis may be sitting right there able to correct the record, but immediately before in that same scene it was established Armand tinkers with memories (and honestly the cafe may have been too traumatic for him to remember clearly anyway), so thatās maybe them being sly. yeah, āclaudia thanked me for not infantilizing her when i infantilized herā smells so much like āand then he sucked me off in our private box while his boy toy looked on in anguish from his night job in the orchestra pit. and i made sure to tell his devastated ex-husband all about it over a century later. in detail.ā
though beyond madeleine calling him out on his emotions that she could feel, thereās also louis being so traumatized by his new ālinkā with madeleine that he purged and self-harmed? soā¦it really felt like they were trying to sell an emotional bleed/bond there, but idk. i trust them too much to consider it a mistake; itās far too big a thing to flub. and lestat trying to tell louis āwe are joined by a cordāā is possibly an echo of this. i think iām just flummoxed because we never got a whiff of this with loustat; if ANYONE should be struggling with an emotional bleed whammy, our hearts-beating-in-sync fellas shouldāve been on the mutual psychedelic feedback loop trip of all time. (though againāitās all louisās POV weāve gotten on this, and his memories involving lestat and his own emotions are rocky.) i would be delighted if they expanded on this in s3; it has such interesting potential, and we havenāt gotten to enjoy something that was maybe apparently a thing all along?
Funny how Louis and Clauidia couldn't tell Lestat was alive, but Madeleine can feel what Louis feels because he is her maker.
Wonder why this conection doesn't work for ANYBODY else.
#iwtv#loustat#madeleine eparvier#armand#but real talk āāthe vampires trying to get better cell coverage for trans-atlantic calls by climbing national monuments thing#bugs me so fuckin bad lmao. itās a supernatural mind power itās not tethered to a satellite#canāt explain why it gets to me like it does. but. lol#but even thatās a trifling thing
