" I am happy because everyone loves me. " - Louis Wain
I am a sucker for Louis Wain, his story and his art. And cats. A lot of papers I have written have at least one Louis Wain reference. And why not draw Hermann as one of my favorite pieces of art Louis has made?
I'm going to change some things tomorrow

I won't disappear forever, but, after tomorrow I will not be around for a bit. My companion of fourteen plus years will be leaving us, tomorrow and I will need time to become a person, again. Her condition deteriorated so fast over the weekend despite all efforts. she seemed to be improving then took a turn….and we don’t want her suffering so much, just to stay with us another week or two.
To everyone who has ever enjoyed my dog, thank you. To anyone who has ever helped me feed her, thank you. She would have loved every one of you, just as much.
this is based off of one of Louis Wain’s cats, which many of you may seen already, but I had to draw….anything
#She has had many many visitors irl and many many cuddles#She has had a good life but I am so distraught that’s me partner my mom the dog my Girl Dog…and I can’t follow her#my art

I think the first ever instance of this was Louis Wain. That man knew what he was doing when he made those cat paintings. He’s the reason why cats will forever be apart of memes and pop culture. Louis Wain had made the first ever lolcat
Someone said modern day cat memes are just like lolcats and honestly im looking at a few of them and yeah, i would see someone making one of these in 2023. We have reverted back to the lolcats memes. Its inevitable. Cats are always silly goobers.

The Electrical Life of Louis Wain (2021) Review
Why couldn’t the Cats musical be this damn emotional!! Gosh, I’m not crying, you’re crying!! Stop looking at me!!
Plot: The true story of eccentric British artist Louis Wain (Benedict Cumberbatch), whose playful, psychedelic pictures transformed the public's perception of cats forever. Set in the early 1900s, we follow Wain as he seeks to unlock the "electrical" mysteries of the world and, in so doing, to better understand his own life and the profound love he shared with his wife Emily Richardson (Claire Foy).
Right, so me and the fiancée were not emotionally ready for this movie. From the trailers I thought this would be quite a quirky and funny little film about a guy who was obsessed with painting cats. I should make everyone aware that before watching this movie I never heard of Louis Wain so had no idea what his life was like. Well after seeing this movie now I am happy to report that the dude had an absolutely terrible life, where he just could not catch a break. The man evidently suffered from a form of autism, so already was not 100% there, yet just the fact that he had a horrible ungrateful family to look after and also being in a constant state of searching to find love and happiness after suffering great loss early in his life....this stuff is deep you guys, and why the hell does Benedict Cumberbatch think he has the right to be such a good actor who can so successfully dive head first into this role and give us such a vulnerable and earnest character who you can’t help but want to cuddle. Because my goodness if this isn’t his finest performance I’ve seen from him to date. The little details and intricacies in his mannerisms and the way he walks and the little shivers he did with his hands, Cumberbatch vanishes into this role. And I must mention the chemistry he shares with Claire Foy’s character Emily. Them two in this movie are absolutely adorable together, as they are both quite eccentric and weird, but together they are so perfect. So you know, just like me and my fiancée!! Oh my gosh.....are we going to die??! Wait, that’s a little spoiler, so I’m kindly going to see myself out.
There is a wonderful sadness to this film. It's beautiful. It's tragic. It's uplifting. It reminds me of the first minutes of Up. Yep, THOSE minutes. There is also a bit of a David Lynch element to it with the way the director Will Sharpe incorporates visions of the past and future which the dreams and nightmares that Louis experiences, and there is an especially surrealist moment when we are engulfed into this sequence of kaleidoscopic catatonic eccentricity to describe it best, and its a bold move as it goes on for a good few minutes which might put some audiences off, but I thought it was brilliant. Speaking of kaleidoscopes, this is such a colourful movie. The way the movie uses filters and coloured lighting and tones really make it seem like you’re watching an old school fairy-tale play out, and certain shots are made to look like actual paintings. Which makes total sense this movie is about a painter and painter paints paintings so logistically a film about a painter would feature paintings. Need I say more?
I’ve been looking at other reviews for this movie and I’m surprised that this film has been hit with quite a lot of negativity, with people calling overly melodramatic and pretentious. I do agree, it is quite an eccentric film with a very distinct feel, so I understand that it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, however for me this was such a beautiful tragedy to watch, with amazing performances, a visually pleasing look and an emotionally filled story that just enamoured me and my fiancée. What I’m saying is this is perfect romantic viewing, if you enjoy experiencing sadness. And I shall leave it at that.
Overall score: 8/10

Happy Birthday, Benedict Cumberbatch.
I hope now you are sleeping soundly in your bed, at your cool home in London (you must have an air conditioning lol) with your beautiful wife and your three cute gorgeous little boys. Perhaps when you wake up in the morning, you’ll firstly be greeted by a huge warm hug from Sophie. Then your naughty boys will throw themselves on you, shouting “happy birthday daddy”, expressing their love and kissing you in your face. Perhaps your inbox will be bursting with kind regards from friends and work. Perhaps you’ll hold a little birthday party with your family and your closest friends. This is your day. You should enjoy it and you deserve to be happy.
I didn’t know you for long, only half a year and I deeply regret I didn’t know you earlier. I remembered it was 30 Dec, 2021. I just finished my finals and wanted to find something to entertain myself. Then Sherlock hit my mind, partly due to its short length (4 seasons and 12 episodes) but also because I’ve already known it’s famous. But it turned out the time for watching the whole series stretched out my whole winter holiday. I confess I didn’t totally fall in love with it until s2e1, the last twist where Sherlock saved The Woman. I watched slowly and repeatedly, estimating the plot and poring on what I’ve watched, what made them do this, why they would do this and their feeling in that scenario, to which I applied to TPOTD and The Electrical Life of Louis Wain as well during that time, the former deeply blowing my mind and the latter making me cry for three times. I’m still a beginner and there’s a lot to catch up with.
The fandom is wonderful and I meet a lot of lovely friends, domestically and overseas. I watched SAG live while I was having an online class. I watched you getting your own star at Hollywood’s Star Walk, of which I felt so proud. On SBIFF you reviewed your career. On BAFTA me and fans shitted about how cruel they treated you. The whole award season concluded with Oscar, fruitful in a way although no big awards in bag. You deserve much better. I am happy getting involved, discussing characters and my understanding with someone who shares similar tastes with me. Our opinions may vary but we debate them harmoniously. That’s the point.
I always contemplate the meaning of icons. Improving my English (judging from my poor writing it’s obvious that en is not my first language) and encouraging me when I’m stranded are sort of excuses I would have used to justify myself when I was 15 or younger. Now I think it’s more like a small distraction from the dull, boring, stressful reality I’m currently in. In the movies or shows I experience different lives that I have no chance to experience in real life. I chatted with other fans about my views of characters because I enjoy digging into them. I read fan fictions if I’m really interested. Distraction, in my limited experience, is a good thing for me, in which I gain happiness, aliveness and relaxation.
I’m really grateful for knowing you. I will not say I’ll love you forever because I’m not sure whether that’s true myself. But I’ll say with absolute certainty that I’ll cherish your extraordinary works and every moment of the happiness this amazing fandom brings me.
Lots of love and happy everyday

Are you going to betray Vlad?
askbox OPEN: ACCEPTING ANONS
There is a silence. It lasts as long as the habitual breath Louis' draws, which is nothing more than the pantomime of mortality that he thoughtlessly clings to, as if with breath, it will return to him. The vampire's dark brows tighten, troubled, as if a storm brews behind them. "Betray him in what way? Do you mean, will I abandon him? Will my love, with time, grow cold, and draw away from him? You must know it is impossible, that I have made such mistakes in the past, and suffered for them," Louis pauses, his eyes flickering away, becoming vague with thought.
"Perhaps you mean to ask, will I falter again? I don't profess to know myself so well in advance, and yet, I know in my heart, that to go away from him again would kill me, and so in some ways, perhaps out of some conceited instinct for self-preservation, it has become impossible to leave him." The softness of Louis' voice momentarily wains as it rises, and strains with feeling. "You must understand, there is no longer such a thing as one without the other, I am no more myself without him, than he is himself without me, and so we must go on this way, forever. It is a matter of survival. Should I ever wish to die, it would only be as simple as leaving him. But then, it would be as much an act of murder as of suicide. We would die together."
