I still can’t believe this. I'm so honored to be among so many amazing designers and greeting card companies. My card won a Louie award in the Romantic Card category. I never thought I would win a Louie Award - it's the oscars of the greeting card industry. It was so nice to see some industry people at the (zoom) announcements. I kind of forget there is a whole greeting card world out there as I am plugging away in my bubble, creating art, packing orders, especially during the lockdowns and everything this past year. I have to give credit to my husband who came up with the idea for this card. We were at a tradeshow, hanging around my booth and thinking of card ideas. ( I miss having time to brainstorm and think like this! Two kids later..) I had another planet card that was selling well so I said I needed more planet cards. What would one planet say to another? He said “I love you, even though you’re gassy..” Jupiter is the gassiest planet, followed by Saturn btw. All types of people buy this card. Mostly women (ha), some men (!). I think it appeals because it is a sweet design and you don’t expect the message. I hope to make more magical, relatable art very soon. It’s been a busy summer. Thank you judges.. I have returned from #nyc #nss2015 with a full heart and couldn't be more proud of this dream of a business- what it has become and where it's going. I'm incredibly grateful for the amazing people in our industry, our wonderful clients, current retailers, my hard working team, and the love and support from friends and family. We were nominated for an award for our balloon animal cards which was a huge honor (and although we did not win, my top 3 reasons being 1. This nomination was presented within our first year of launching our retail collection 2. The awards host, The Greeting Card Association received a record breaking amount of entries for this year 3. 2022, crazy. Hoping to figure out how to slow time this year! Or at least slow myself down.. be more present. Usually I draw more to calm myself, but there hasn’t been much time… ironic I know. 2021 was an epic year for my family and business > had a baby! She’s so sweet happy and healthy. *Abby* This greeting card business of mine had a milestone year too… I have received orders from all 50 ! states and 3 countries, and am in 600+ stores! A lot of packing this year. Despite the pandemic, people are writing and sending greeting cards more than ever. I’ve made 10k sales on Etsy, won a #louieaward for one of my card designs, and started selling stickers along with notepads, notebooks and too many greeting cards to count. And last but not least, Cynla has made it to 10 YEARS! Which means my marriage is also 10 ♥️ I wish we could do more celebrating but have been laying low with a new baby at home. Hope 2022 brings health, happy + safe celebrations, and will carry on at a slower, more reasonable pace.
