I still can’t believe this. I'm so honored to be among so many amazing designers and greeting card companies. My card won a Louie award in the Romantic Card category. I never thought I would win a Louie Award - it's the oscars of the greeting card industry. It was so nice to see some industry people at the (zoom) announcements. I kind of forget there is a whole greeting card world out there as I am plugging away in my bubble, creating art, packing orders, especially during the lockdowns and everything this past year. I have to give credit to my husband who came up with the idea for this card. We were at a tradeshow, hanging around my booth and thinking of card ideas. ( I miss having time to brainstorm and think like this! Two kids later..) I had another planet card that was selling well so I said I needed more planet cards. What would one planet say to another? He said “I love you, even though you’re gassy..” Jupiter is the gassiest planet, followed by Saturn btw. All types of people buy this card. Mostly women (ha), some men (!). I think it appeals because it is a sweet design and you don’t expect the message. I hope to make more magical, relatable art very soon. It’s been a busy summer. Thank you judges..
