On the topic of Riza and conqueror of shamballa:

I think both riza and roy were ooc, and the main problem was that their story had already ended at episode 57. There wasn't really a reason for them to be in the movie except for a brief cameo.

So I guess my hot take is that they shouldn't have been in cos at all.

Roy and Riza’s character growth is definitely detrimentally impacted by their participation in Conqueror of Shamballa (and they only get about five-minutes of screentime!) 😔

When we leave them in 03, their story has come to a natural conclusion. In amongst the bleaker landscape of the 03 series’ ending, they’re also probably the characters with the ‘happiest’ end

They actually reach a point where they’re ready to explore their relationship outside of the Amestrian military so when we see them in Shamballa, it undoes a lot of the excellent groundwork which the 03 series laid down: it rips up the script for a “cameo” which could’ve been removed and had no overall impact on Shamballa’s story 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏼‍♀️

Your posts got me thinking about their dynamic then I wrote a fic that was supposed to be platonic but midway through I realized it could actually be interpreted as romantic too and now I'm just sad about how little time they'll have together

You get marchil so much you truly do. The way they mesh, the way their views on mortality clash and both soothe & bruise… He doesn’t have much time left even in best case scenario (which Mr I won’t eat well I’ll drink and smoke a lot I’ll stress all day every day is determined to not make happen) which makes it all the more meaningful for Marcille’s arc when she learns from him to finally enjoy the present moments… It’ll only be a fraction of her life, but to him he’s giving her the rest of his life. What are some decades of love worth? Worth it, surely, if nothing else

jumping RIGHT IN with a brutally honest opinion: i really dislike this one.

i tend not to like obscure characters whose only personality is what fandom had to invent for them. my very neutral "i just can't make myself care about this character" feelings often morph into outright dislike when i keep bumping into the character as an over-exposure thing. therefore, i actively dislike izuna. yes, i know he's pretty. no, i don't think he has a canon personality, and therefore every single fic about him feels OOC to me. i get annoyed when people seem to assume i will care about izuna.

now, combine the fact that i really like tobirama with his most common ship being with a character i hate. it drives me bonkers. please don't make me look at izuna content. let tobiraama kill him

Alastor/Vox? for the ask meme

Hazbin Hotel is a fandom where I don't really ship anything especially hard or have any OTPs, but there are a handful of ships that intrigue me quite a bit and I can see myself potentially getting much more invested in them in the future. Vox/Alastor is definitely one of the ships that I am most 👀 about. Foe yay/enemies-with-benefits/enemies-to-lovers are some of my favorite ship dynamics so I was definitely sitting up with interest when Vox's whole obsession with Alastor was introduced (and esp that it was one of the defining characteristics of Vox from the very start). Am very curious to see if/where this goes with S2, especially as I believe that it was announced that the Vees are going to be the major antagonists next season.
