Thinking about ✨her✨ today
Remaking this Éowyn after 10 years of cosplay was so gratifying! The trim is all hand embroidered and I’m so proud of how well I was able to dye the matelassé to match the corset suede 😍

And of course Thingol.
Welcome and thank you to all new followers! The Thingol cloak post brought you here, but I have several more Middle-earth cosplays, most of them own designs for Silmarillion characters.

Finished my completely handsewn tunic and made the pauldrons attachable, so I assembled everything I have made so far. Getting closer and closer to a finished cosplay, with only a collar for the tunic, a cloak, and a crown/headpiece left to go. Plus, I got the exciting notification today that my wig has shipped!

I took a break from my art, became Arwen ,and attended to my first the Lord of the rings orchestra!
It was so phenomenal and awesome. The conductor, choir, musicians, and the staffs took me back to the Middle earth again. I appreciate how they put so much effort for the audiences. It such a hard work!
I’d say this is my 29th birthday gift such a best gift 🎁 😫😭 I met so many people from middle ages to very young. I felt we were talking in the same language🩷 I met someone who dressed up as Luthien but no one recognised her until I asked her ‘are you Luthien’ and she was so happy I know her omg
Hopefully I can get to see the two towers and the return of the king soon
Ps. No Aragorn no problem hehe

My almost finished Maedhros cosplay based on my very own design. Photo and edit by @thistlesandstories
The costume contains handsewn shirt (I used Lyocell instead of linen because it looks more elvish), cotton hand quilted vest with customised metal buckles, waist belt including the embossed Oath of Fëanor and wide belt adorned with Fëanorian stars made from polymer clay. The sword is a prototype made from EVA foam, but I want to make a less wrinkly one.
The bracers, the scabbard and the belt are all my own leatherwork. Details for nitpickers:

When you meet a friend from Australia for the first time, what do you do? LotR inspired shoots, of course!
(More specifically LOTRO - we both love the game and built these looks referencing a lot of the in-game cosmetics!)
Ulric’s leatherwork is absolutely out of this world and it was amazing to see it up close! He was one of the first people I messaged when I wanted to get into leatherwork for my Elf. ☺️ (he doesn’t have a tumblr, but please check out his instagram!)

"And as the captains gazed south to the Land of Mordor, it seemed to them that, black against the pall of cloud, there rose a huge shape of shadow, impenetrable, lightning-crowned, filling all the sky. Enormous it reared above the world, and stretched out towards them a vast threatening hand, terrible but impotent: for even as it leaned over them, a great wind took it, and it was all blown away, and passed; and then a hush fell."
