Anime Tag Game
I was tagged by @roxi4, thank you so much!! :D This was a lot of fun though some questions got me thinking really hard lol
1. Last anime you watched?
It’s a new anime movie on Netflix called A Whisker Away (or Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu), it was really cute, funny and touching!
2. Last anime you binged watched?
Beastars. I was a little reluctant to start watching it but once I started I couldn’t stop lol
3. Recommend an anime and state your reason?
CAROLE & TUESDAY
This anime has everything: cute moments, funny moments, serious topics and a bit of angst. It’s about two girls trying to find their place in the new world they live in, Mars, which is where some part of humanity went because of the decaying state of Earth. They both have their struggles, their stories, but what unite them is music. The show is centered on them trying to make their debut in the music industry on Mars, and wow is the music amazing in this anime! All the songs are in English (except one in French) which was a real surprise for a Japanese anime, but it suits the characters perfectly! Totally recommend giving it a try!
4. Anime you have not finished watching yet?
I have a few lol, though right now I can’t remember which one and MAL decided to not work right when I’m doing this akjld
5. An anime you do NOT recommend and state your reason?
Okay, so before I go into this, just know one thing: I love Tokyo Ghoul. I really do, but I love the original story, the manga.
Concerning the anime: the first season was okay, they deleted a few things which I found was a shame, but it wasn’t bad.  But Tokyo Ghoul √A... It was a complete disaster and ruined the story and the characters (especially Kaneki ugh) imo. It makes things so confusing if you want to watch Tokyo Ghoul:re afterwards too!
So yeah, if you want to give Tokyo Ghoul a try, honestly I wouldn’t recommend Tokyo Ghoul √A at all. Read the manga, read a synopsis of this part of the story online if you want to watch the rest of the anime, but not this season.
6. List your top 5 favourite anime?
Oh boi I never know... I haven’t watched that much anime tbh (I prefer reading manga) and not as many caught my attention to the point that I can call them ‘favourite’, but I’ll try...
Shingeki no Kyojin
Sword Art Online (I know what most people think of this anime but I don’t care. It’s a flawed show but I love it nonetheless. I’m a simple person)
Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works
Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni (they’re going to make a new adaptation soon I can’t wait!!!)
Fruits Basket 2019 (the anime hasn’t finished airing yet but it’s one of my favorite manga and the new adaptation is amazing!)
7. Of your top 5 anime, list 2 of your favourite ships from each show?
Snk: Ereri (duh!) and um... I have several other ships I enjoy but none stand out more than another honestly :/
SAO: Kirito x Eugeo (my second OTP, love them!!) and that’s it lol
Fate: Shiro x Rin
Higurashi: Keiichi x Rena
Furuba: Kyo x Tohru and Kureno x Arisa
8. Of your top 5 anime, list 1 ship that you do not like?
I haven’t said that one a lot because I’m not about spreading hate, and unless someone asks me I see no point in talking about it. Only my friends knew to this point... Eru**ri. Like just... No.
9. Of your top 5 anime, list 1 crack ship?
Ajdkdj I don’t know?? I’m not a big shipper usually, SnK is an exception, and I don’t think any can be called a crack ship lol
10. Of your top 5 anime, list your favourite character from each show?
Levi Ackerman (SnK)
Kirito (SAO)
Oh damn... Rin or Archer I guess lol (Fate)
Rena <3 (Higurashi)
Kyo Soma (Furuba)
11. List 3 of your husbando/waifu and what anime they are from?
Levi (SnK) - my #1 and the man who owns my heart
Kirito (SAO)
Gavin/Haku (Koi to Producer : Evol x Love) -  I’m totally cheating with that one because the anime hasn’t aired yet lol but it’s from a game that I’ve been playing every day for almost a year now and this man is definitely 100% my husbando, can’t wait to see him animated!! (Haku is his Japanese name apparently but in the English version of the game he’s called Gavin)
12. Favourite anime genre?
Damn, again, I have no idea lol. I guess I like it when there’s not too much drama and not too much humor, like just the right amount of both? Then I like when there’s a touch of fantasy, or if it’s an Isekai. It’s easier for me to say which genre I don’t like tbh lol
13. Weirdest anime you have seen?
Weirdest? Hmm... Let’s go with Shinsekai Yori (From the New World) Honestly I liked that anime, some parts were total genius like holy damn! But when I started watching it I was so confused and kept asking myself “what am I watching? What’s going on?” but I kept watching it nonetheless because I was so curious :’) It isn’t a bad kind of weird, but some parts really grossed me out, like.. The rats... *shivers*
14. Subbed or dubbed?
Subbed, always!!
15. Fanart or Fanfic?
I only read fanfics for Snk tbh (once upon a time I was reading Naruto fics lol), so let’s say Fanart (tho I like both)
16. Protagonist or antagonist?
Depends on the character and the story, but mostly protagonist
17. Funniest anime you have seen?
I haven’t watched a lot of comedy anime, so I’ll go with Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO)
18. Saddest anime you have seen?
Oh boi... I have a few for which I cried my eyes out honestly...
First: Uta Kata. I’ll never forget how fucking depressed I felt at the end of this anime. I watched it in middle school and the ending got to me so hard, I still remember how I felt even after all this time (I wonder how I’ll feel if I rewatched it now?)
Then there’s also Clannad, I was crying my eyes out for several episodes in the After Story, and since Roxi mentioned it, AnoHana.
19. Anime character you dislike the most?
Okay, easy one. No matter how many times I see him, no matter in which version because somehow he’s like a cockroach and can’t stay in one fucking anime, I always feel like putting my hands inside my computer and strangle him: Mato Shinji.
It’s insane how he was voiced by the same seiyuu who gave his voice to my favorite character of all times! It blew my mind when I realized that; Kamiya Hiroshi sure is an amazing voice actor!
20. Recommend an anime movie?
I highly recommend the first movie I talked about, A Whisker Away, but that’s not the one I want to recommend now though.
Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms (or Sayonara no Asa ni Yakusoku no Hana wo Kazarou)
This movie is just simply amazing and beautiful, though I must warn you that the plot is quite angsty. Like I definitely cried at the end of that movie too. It’s set in a fantasy world, and... okay I suck at summary so let me just copy/paste one:
“Though only 15, Maquia knows she will live for centuries without aging past adolescence. She belongs to the Iorph, a clan of ageless beings just like her. Maquia's elders warn her not to fall in love with anyone outside their realm, lest she wish to encounter true loneliness in the end. But fate pushes Maquia out into the mortal world one night, when an invading territory separates her from the clan. There she discovers an orphaned baby, Ariel, and takes him in as her own child. From this point, Maquia will suffer extreme heartbreak in the name of motherhood, as she watches Ariel grow and seeks to reconnect with her lost Iorph friends, all torn apart by the cruel world of Mesate.”
100% recommend it if you’re not afraid of drama and like fantasy!!
------
Damn that was a long tag game!! Sorry, I ramble a lot :’)
I tag: @talkereritome, @dearlevily, @soapy0-0, @jaegerists, @flamoria, and anybody else who wants to do this! It’s a long one so only do it if you’re up to the challenge ;)

Minutes before landing.
As if the tension had vanished, The Avengers were all gathering around, ready to land on Ukrainian soil.
“There’s a clearing not far from the border, we’ll land there, and Tony, Sam and Pietro will scout the area. No mistakes allowed okay. You see her, or a Hydra agent, you report back to the team before doing anything.”
The instructions were clear, everyone knew what their job was and their role on this mission. But it felt reassuring for the most part to hear them being said one last time before arriving. Comforting glances meeting stressed stares, the jet would be landing in seconds now.
“guys, we’ve got a problem” Bruce was frowning when he turned towards the team.
They all tried to approach him at the same time, but all of them not fitting in the cockpit, they let Tony and Steve go through, knowing they were leading the mission.
“What’s happening Bruce?” Tony’s usually casual tone was nothing but down to business and it meant naught except for the fact that he was probably freaking out just as much as the others right now.
“There’s lots of movement coming from the border and something’s down in the middle of the clearing.”
The look Steve and Tony exchanged did nothing to help Bruce come down to a decision. They knew what the movement could mean, and it augured nothing good. As for the thing it the middle of the clearing, the scan showed it was still, unmoving, it could be a frightened animal or just a glitch.
“We have to land, Bruce land the quinjet” That was Pietro talking, but his determination was only followed by agreeing hums. Everyone on the team was ready for whatever they would encounter once they had touched down, at least if they landed now, they would just get it over with.
“Pietro-” Steve didn’t have time to reason with him that Bucky interrupted him.
“No time to argue, we could already be down there” The serious look in his friend’s eyes was enough to convince him, he knew there was nothing more he could do to prepare his friends for what could possibly happen once they landed.
He nodded towards Bruce who immediately took matters in hands and started the quinjet’s descent.
Mal had always had trouble at the beginning to control her new-found abilities, she could never fully understand just how it all worked. But after years of training, she now mastered the art of hiding her powers away, she was so hell-bent on keeping them from everyone around her even when she was at the facility and everyone knew what was running through her veins, she never was one to make a show of her powers.
She liked them, they made her feel powerful and important and that kind of feeling could never be replaced by anything else. Although Mal loved being special amongst the ordinary people, she was almost if not all self-doubt.
That doubt had been eating her alive her whole life, because the feeling of power that came after her experiment did nothing to erase the disappointment and questions she had always had.
So, she kept her powers to herself because they were hers, and if she couldn’t have anything else, not even friends or a loving family, at least she had them. They were always there, buzzing at the back of her head or flowing in her veins. They were always there for her, and she intended to keep it that way. They were hers, and she didn’t want the last thing she had to be taken from her.
But there were times, like this one, when those powers couldn’t be restrained. They asked, no, they didn’t ask they just made themselves known and pushed and tugged at Mal’s restrains, pushed and pushed until she couldn’t handle all the back and forth and had to let them out.
Strangely enough those times almost never happened at the facility, she assumed that it was because she had to use them every day, but now with almost three weeks on the run, three weeks without ever using them. She could just feel them take over her body, she knew she was losing control and fast, unfortunately for the young girl, when it all came rushing down, she wouldn’t be able to stop them.
But maybe for the first time ever, she didn’t want to stop them. Maybe they all deserved to feel her wrath, Hydra had made her this way and she was tired of all the control, of all the pain and manipulation. She had been naïve and weak but now that was all over, she knew now, that the world was cruel and offered no relief for people like Mal.
She might not have been able to understand just how much damage she could do, nor did she know the extent of her powers, but she was fully aware of the fight that was about to happen.
The jet had landed, she didn’t seem to recognize Hydra’s logo or colors or anything that had to do with their organization but if it wasn’t them who could it have been. After all, right now, it didn’t matter, those people hadn’t landed in the exact clearing she was in all while pursued by agents just to bring her to safety. She could only count on herself and those people would suffer the same fate the agents would.
Even though she was aware that the moment the agents arrived she would be surrounded, not an ounce a fear could be felt, all that was radiating from her body was power.
The gates opened and her vision immediately focused on the group of people walking down the aircraft. At first, it felt like they hadn’t even noticed her presence, which funnily enough made Mal chuckle because she could have hit them by surprise. But this wasn’t the way she wanted to do this, she wanted them to see what she could do. Not hide behind her mentor this time.
Once they realized that it was indeed a person standing in the middle of the cold and wild clearing, it seemed they stilled. All of them.
As if trying not to scare her away, one of them took two steps forward and was about to talk when a first wave of agents was heard running and shouting from the other side of the clearing.
The buzzing in her veins intensifies at the notion of danger, it sizzled right under her skin and she was trying so hard to keep it there.
Upon seeing the twenty or so guards which were previously guarding the border run towards her, Mal’s resolve dissolved into nothing. Their faces all contorted in anger they sure didn’t expect when Mal started advancing towards them.
The determination in her pace and her aura dominating their fake masculinity, they still didn’t stop because after all, what could a 16-year-old possibly do to them. They should have been more careful.
The shouts of the individuals behind her were unheard and she stopped dead in her tracks, her hands extended towards the dark night sky, The Avengers wished they could have been ready for this.
Unleashing her power into the air felt liberating, the electricity shooting up in the sky in violet-like lighting strikes, just to shoot back down straight onto the group of agents. Her arms tingling from the sensation, it’s like she couldn’t get enough of it, it felt addicting to her. Her power had been locked up for too long in her flesh prison, to let it roam free and wreak havoc was a sight she wanted to imprint in her mind.
Seeing as some of them had been only grazed by the shocks and only a few of them were laying still on the floor, she wasn’t satisfied. When would they learn the lesson, she hadn’t left all those men at the facility because she thought it would be pretty, it was a warning for them not to come find her.
Her arms descending towards the men, an electric flow coming from deep within her crushed every man’s spine. Frying their brains, they fell like flies leaving the snow almost untouched.
The rage and power still clouding her vision and judgment, she turned around ready to show the weird costume-y guys what was waiting for them.
But she surely didn’t expect them to be standing so close to her, all with mouth agape. She thought she could take advantage of the situation when a voice stopped her.
“Amalya…” Wanda’s voice was pure hurt, seeing her little sister kill those men with little to no regret just felt like a horrifying scene for her.
Mal turned to look at the woman and her knees almost gave out from under her when she recognized the two people looking straight at her.
Here they were her so-called brother and sister. Here they were, still looking almost like the last time she had seen them except a bit older. Her eyes watered but she refused to let the tears fall, they didn’t deserve another one of them. She had spent so many nights and days crying for them.
“It’s us Amalya” Pietro’s heart hurt, the only rational thought for him would be to run and hold her for god knows how long, but the things she had just done prevented him from doing so. She probably was scared right now and even if they were family it had been a while since they had seen each other.
Mal felt anything but afraid.
Mal recognized them, but she didn’t know who they were anymore. Who leaves their 10-year-old sister to fend for herself in a poor and corrupted country? The tears were long gone now, the electricity buzzing once more, but this time it was even stronger.
The whole team could feel it in the air, hair going up because of static electricity, Mal’s eyes shining purple, a mist started enveloping her. She felt intimidating. The whole lot of them, they almost wanted to take a step back, the atmosphere way too tense to breathe properly, they all wondered how a teenager could express such dominance.
“Please come with us honey, we’ve missed you” Wanda didn’t have time to utter her words that they went straight to Mal’s core, just like fuel she erupted, electricity crackling all around her, lightning coming from all around her.
She looked at them dead in the eyes, her own filled with nothing, her stare was blank and that’s what hurt the twins the most.
“It’s Mal now” Her cold demeanor matched her tone, not wasting a second more she started the fight back up.

If Toriel and Mal were able to meet, I could imagine it going something like this.
Toriel- So you're this "Mal" person that Kris has told me about?
Mal- That I am! It's nice to finally meet you, Ms.Toriel. I do hope Kris hasn't been telling you any "Mal"evolent stories about me!
Toriel- * snrk* Haha! Nono, they've only told me good things, I assure you.
Mal- Ah that's a relief. You know kids though, they can have quite the imaginations, wouldn't want you to get your hopes up over a norMal bird like me. They all just looked rather lost when I first found them, so I took them under my wing.
Toriel- * laughing*

________________________________________________________________
At dawn, when the sun starts to rise in the sky, the various shades of orange, yellow and pink illuminating the sky, that’s when Pietro used to feel the most peaceful. Of course, that was before they went and discovered the rampage that fueled his baby sister on the run. Before he saw what years of abandonment had done to her.
A few months ago, Pietro would have loved getting up before everyone else and go on his morning run, running faster than the forever circulating cars of New York City, when the city was awakening. He’d sometimes even go as far as the Liberty Statue, so he could admire the lady in the morning light, without the sea of tourists.
But now everything had changed, and he felt that when he woke up and had to force himself out of bed. When he didn’t have the motivation to go around the city, when looking at the rising sun didn’t feel as tranquil as it did before.
He could only think about her, Amalya.
Wondering where she was at this second, what she could be doing, how she was feeling. The overwhelming feeling of helplessness enveloped him once again. Pietro felt useless.
What was he going to become if he couldn’t even look after his own little sister?
He didn’t feel deserving of the Avengers. He felt like all they had done since they rescued him and Wanda from HYDRA was helping them, and all he could do was joke around and make mistakes on missions.
He was startled when he heard the knock on his door. To his surprise his body got up and went to open the door, but it felt as if he was far away from it. Like he was watching his body move from the outside.
Outside the door stood a very concerned Wanda, immediately she entered the room taking Pietro into her arms.
“Piet’ why are you crying ?” her voice was soft and worried, as usual these days.
But Pietro pushed her away to feel his wet cheeks, he hadn’t even realized he was crying until his sister told him so.
He dried his tear-stained cheeks and smiled sadly at the witch. Then, proceeded to shrug, not knowing how to express his feelings out loud, not really wanting to share either.
“You know we’ve told you a thousand times that it is not your fault ! Why do you keep doing this to yourself Pietro it isn’t healthy for you to think all this” Wanda felt she had to check up on everyone’s state daily, at least it prevented her from letting her thoughts wander.
“I can’t help feeling this way you know!” The tears building up in his eyes made him hate himself even more, he wished he could just find his sister in two shakes of a lamb’s tail.
“Well it isn’t easy for any of us right now, but could you try at least? For her?”
“Don’t you think I know that it isn’t easy for you for me or for anyone in this fucking tower ? I know it okay? But none of you abandoned her like I did, so please please Wanda leave me the fuck alone and don’t tell me how to feel.”
The hurt in her brother’s voice wasn’t like any she had ever heard, she wasn’t used to seeing him so torn and hurt, she couldn’t even be mad at him feeling what he felt, she was left speechless.
“Stop getting into my head please Wanda” He had always been annoyed when she searched for something in his head and had somehow found a way to block her out, which he did right away.
He didn’t want her to find out yet, he knew she wasn’t ready.
Not that he was either.
∆ While the Avengers were slowly starting to awaken in the Tower, it was already mid-afternoon in far-east Europe.
On her 10th day of running, Mal woke up startled by a loud knocking on the door. Whoever was behind it did not seem friendly enough for her to open it. A man was bellowing in Russian on the other side, his energy felt angry and annoyed.
Even though the sixteen-year-old girl had nothing to be afraid of, considering the amount of chaos she could bring up in just about three seconds, she didn’t feel safe.
After all, she had broken into a small cottage on the outskirts of a city through the backdoor. She just needed to sleep for a while, rest and eat so she could go on. The adrenaline from the first few days following the escape was slowly starting to dissipate and the heaviness of her fatigued body slowed her down.
Her muscles were tired of all the running, the calves of her feet had started to harden, not used to so much exercise in so uncomfortable shoes. The young girl had had to change clothes often in order to hide her identity from the people on the streets, especially the agents that she could recognize easily and were dispatched in small groups all over the country.
Her disappearance from the facility had caused a real panic over at HYDRA headquarters. A real man-hunt had been put in place, so they could retrieve the girl as soon as possible. In fact, the government had even been informed -not to the extend as knowing that she was a mutant- of her escape.
Upon hearing the very disturbing and worrying news, the authorities had put word on the street of this girl who was wanted by the government. Her image could be seen everywhere, on all medias allowed in Russia they were displaying nearly 24/7 a picture of her face.
As she had no money, she couldn’t buy herself any food, any clothes, anything to allow her to survive.
All she could do was steal or mend, which was rendered difficult for the most part considering every corner she turned, the police was there looking for her.
She doubted most of them knew what she was wanted for. She knew the evil organization wouldn’t ever compromise their mission, their goal. They were a secret.
She was a secret.
But she had escaped, and they had been forced to reveal her identity to the world. Now she most definitely knew that she couldn’t ever return or be found. They would hurt her, for disobeying, for hurting their men, for exposing herself to the world.
As she was slipping out the backdoor once again, the front one flew open and she ran. Cursing herself for waking up so late. Now she was sure the man was going to report forced entry and the authorities could find any kind of stuff belonging to her. From hair to her socks, they would be able to retrace her steps.
Great, now she had to change plans entirely.
The city she had just entered was situated on the Russian border, she was so close but so far. Because a mistake like the one she had just made could cost her everything.
At least, if the man had seen her run he wouldn’t be able to give the same description of her as the one the photo showed. After the four first days, she had been lucky enough to find a DIY-hair dye lotion in a supermarket trash.
She was ashamed of having to search through the garbage to get what she needed, but at the end of the day she didn’t have a lot of options. So now she had somewhat icy blonde bleached hair which made her blend in more in the big crowds of Russian girls. The dye wasn’t all that great though, it had hurt her scalp and even though she had followed the instructions she knew the color wasn’t going to last very long.
The only option she felt like she had was to cross the border before the sun set, today. Because finding shelter for the night would be way harder than it had been, the borders being heavily controlled at all times.
Mal knew she was probably only two kilometers away from Ukraine, which was less than a 30 minutes’ walk. It seemed so easy, too easy. That is why she felt more comfortable waiting for the night to come and the sun to come down, it felt safer. Like the night would hide her away.
After a little time of walking by herself and looking over her shoulder from time to time she entered the space of a small coffeeshop not too far away from the border. She had found some change laying around in the house she had stayed in the previous morning and decided best to wait silently in an unknown shop.
Even with a full plan in head Mal never even thought that she would eventually have to leave the coffee shop. She had stayed there all day, reading magazines and ordering the cheapest thing on the menu with the little money she had found in the house’s cabinets in the morning.
It was now 8pm and she was outside, kicking herself for not thinking that guards would be covering the entire area for the night, being this close to the border had left her with too much hope it had clouded her judgment. She now had to find a way to reach it without bringing any suspicion upon herself.
At least she had managed to go through the whole day unnoticed.
She was glad for the combat boots on her feet, the cold wind harshly wiping her face wouldn’t have been so kind with her extremities. She kept walking, grateful for the busy city she had chosen as a last stop before freedom.
She wondered what that felt like, to truly be free. Not like that feeling she had in the train but truly being able to enjoy a moment, without having someone monitoring you or having to constantly look over your shoulder.
The experiment she had gone through with Hydra’s surgeons and scientists had sadly blurred some of her childhood memories. The face of her parents wasn’t clear enough for her to draw a perfect family picture, but surprisingly enough she could remember the exact conversation her brother and sister had had before abandoning her. Memories like these only fueled her rage to get back at them, her entire life had been about being good enough for them, and she now knew she had sacrificed so many things just to realize they had never cared.
Knowing she couldn’t stay in one place for more than a few minutes without a guard looking at her suspiciously, she decided to keep moving and chose the most direct way to the border, hoping her plan would work.
And so, she walked, her mind still trying to make out the color of her mother’s eyes, and her dad’s voice.
∆ The chaos that was taking place in the Tower was like no other. It didn’t resemble anything that any of them had encountered before. Nothing like one of Tony’s after parties or like a fight between Sam and Pietro. The tower was bustling, the Avengers hurriedly trying to get all of their stuff together so they could be flying as fast as possible.
Thanks to one of Fury’s sources, they had been informed about some of the young girl’s whereabouts. The conclusion made had been that she would try to cross the border tonight or during the following day. So, here they were, changing into gear and getting the jet ready.
“Is everyone ready?” Steve’s voice boomed out throughout the main room, making everyone still their actions and look at him, “We have to leave, now, or else we’ll be coming back empty-handed once more”.
People around him had concentrated faces, even if there wasn’t going to be a fight, nobody was taking this mission lightly. It was important for them to be concentrated, for once no one dared to try and lighten the oppressive and tensed atmosphere, all too preoccupied to try and make a joke.
The lack of response from his teammates would have troubled Steve if he, himself had not been worried about his best friend and the twins. He had tried to get them to stay at the Tower and not go on the mission, unfortunately, all his good intentions were not taken into account when the conservation exploded into an argument.
Of course, the twins had to come. If anyone was going to save their baby sister, it had to be them. Not only did they feel responsible for what had happened to her, but they couldn’t even bear the thought of staying one more day stuck in the Tower with nothing to do and no new information.
Steve had, in the end, stopped trying to persuade them, knowing the discussion would not lead anywhere near a sound decision. He knew they would do anything to get her back and know what happened, but what he feared most was Pietro’s need for revenge. He could see it in his eyes, and feel it in his attitude, Hydra’s touch on his sister was not something that he was willing to just let go. He was afraid that getting her back would never be enough for him.
Another thing on Steve’s mind was Bucky.
The winter soldier had been even more serious than usual. He was always either working out and destroying punching bags or in the lab uselessly trying to be of some help to locate the girl. Steve knew her situation bothered and angered his friend, but he was scared of the consequences participating in such a mission could have on him.
Bucky was a grown man, but another encounter with Hydra was never something he could truly be prepared for. The memories and experience he had with them were still there, and always would be. Steve wondered why his best friend, even with everything he had been through at Hydra’s hands, was still so committed in finding the girl.
Steve was now sitting on the quinjet, still drowning in worry when Natasha sat next to him, snapping him out of his trance like state.
“If you frown any more, even your super-soldier serum won’t be able to prevent the wrinkles you’ll have.” She lightly tapped his shoulders in way that wanted to be comforting.
Steve chuckled, the first time since the news had been delivered.
“I’m worried about them”
“Everyone is” She looked around at every single one of their teammates, “We can’t take another failing in this mission, we’ve worked too much, it’s taken a toll on everybody”
“I know, we’ll find her.”
The rest of the flight was spent in silence. The thick and tensed atmosphere felt almost suffocating but no one dared to talk.
∆ As Mal approached the border, she knew her plan was working when the guards around her were too preoccupied with the crowd forming on the square not too far. No one was looking at her, the distraction she had conceived working like a charm giving her the perfect opportunity to escape and slip through Hydra’s grip. Coming up to the last one of the guards who had stayed behind to keep watch, she extended her hand to give him her fake identity card.
He looked at it intently and asked her why she was going out of the country. She answered and when he looked back down, his eyes widened, and she knew her cover was blown. Panicked, she punched him violently in the throat, the man dropping unconscious on the floor.
Adrenaline pumping through her veins, she ran as fast as she could and when she stopped running, any notion of time she could have had before was lost. Trying to regain her breath she looked around her.
Kneeling in a clearing covered in snow, the only thing surrounding her were trees. Both a blessing and curse she thought, she could hide in the forest, but her footprints were the only ones here, she knew she had made a mistake by choosing to go off the roads. Because her prints would be easily recognizable and the clouds not presenting any sign of snow did nothing to reassure her.
Her head was spinning with the amount of blood rushing to her head because of the running, preventing her from thinking straight and establishing a plan. The exhaustion from the past few days was starting to show its face and she knew that if she didn’t keep moving, she would pass out in the middle of this beautiful clearing.
But before she could even try and define the first step of her plan, she heard the shouts of men behind her.
Head spinning around, she turned and could feel the earth trembling with each soldier’s footstep. Tears of frustration now spilling on her cheeks, she knew she didn’t have time to run, especially now that she had been discovered.
Concentrating, she mustered up all the energy she had left and prepared herself for the battle running towards her. Electricity buzzing through her system, just itching and begging to be let out, she breathed in.
But before she even had the time to exhale, the sound of an engine sounded all around her. The clearing before illuminated by the moon’s soft light was now pitch dark, the aircraft blocking out any of that light.
Mal didn’t panic, she didn’t faint like she thought she would.
She got angry.
Fury flooded her veins and raged through her being like a hurricane upon being surrounded. She was ready to fight, once again, she wouldn’t stop because she was so angry and tired of people trying to take her freedom away from her. She had enough.
She wasn’t going to go down without a fight. They would know just what she was truly made of.
They would understand just how much power she had, because no one would take her liberty again.
And when she the jet finally landed, Mal exhaled, her eyes turning the deepest shade of amethyst.

an ! heyyyy i promised it tonight soo here it is !!! sorry it’s not the most interesting chapter but it felt necessary to me. PLEASE SEND FEEDBACK ITS ALWAYS NICE
part one    part dos      part tres      part quatro      part cinco      part seis
A few hours had passed, the Avengers were now flying over Russia and headed directly for the Siberian Compound. The fight hadn’t even started, yet they all seemed exhausted.
In fact, they knew this wouldn’t go down easy, they would go home injured and there was a possibility one of them could end up dead. Because if this wasn’t a mission like the others, it just made the risk greater.
It was a rescue mission. Only a few of the members had already been on one.
Sure, they knew how to fight, how to take down an enemy, how to deal with the deaths of civilians but it was never easy. It took a great deal of courage to know what to do in such difficult situations like battles.
But here, they were risking more than the deaths of a few men. They knew they didn’t have a choice but to succeed, this mission had to be a victory.
If they failed, that either meant Hydra would have spotted them and it ended up in a blood bath or that the girl wasn’t there, or dead, or didn’t want to come back to New York with them.
Either way they knew it was a risky situation as they couldn’t be seen by Hydra’s agents. In fact, if they were located it would most probably lead to a war between the two associations. Something they did not want.
The atmosphere inside the quinjet was tense, and dreadful.
Pietro and Wanda hadn’t said a word since the take off and it worried Steve. He was worried they weren’t going to follow his instructions and made the whole plan blow up.
To say the situation was delicate for the Maximoffs was an understatement.
First, they learnt that their little sister is in fact alive, then that she is undergoing the same torture they had been put through when they couldn’t see past their blind anger for Tony Stark.
Now they were walking, well more like flying, straight back into the trap they had fallen into many years ago to try and save their precious Amalya.
But everything was different now.
They were on Tony’s side, they had powers and a team to support them but most of all, they didn’t know what the hell they could expect from this family reunion.
Pietro looked at his sister when he felt her stare from the other side of the jet. Knowing she was in his head right now he shook his head to tell her to get out.
She sent him a knowing look saying, ‘stop feeling guilty’, he knew what her eyes were telling him because they knew each other so well.
After all, they had grown up together and they were twins. That thought made him loath himself even more because he knew that when he was going to see his baby sister. He wouldn’t recognize her, he wouldn’t know what to do or what to say that could make up for their absence.
Seeing as everyone seemed lost in thought, Steve got up from his seat and spoke up in a strong voice like the leader he was.
“Everyone remembers the plan, right ?”
Sam rolled his eyes and Natasha said what everyone was thinking at that moment.
“Rogers we’ve went over this plan at least fifty-six times now if anyone hasn’t understood yet I don’t know what the hell they are doing on this team” She sighed and Steve looked taken aback as he was ready to explain it once more.
Bruce interrupted them, speaking up from the head of the plane “And we are arriving”
Tony excitedly jumped from his seat and put his mask down, he was rather joyous considering the situation that they were in and what they were about to face.
“Alright, well kids, it’s time for Iron Man to fly out”
On his toes, Sam stood up and followed him but not before flashing the rest of team a smirk “See you guys”
And just like that, they jumped from the quinjet.
Although everyone knew they had only been gone for 15 minutes and they were only going to see how many guards and stuff Hydra has displayed around the facility, Bucky couldn’t help but let his nerves get to him.
He kept running his hands through his brown locks, trying to get his shit together before they had to enter the building.
Bucky was trying so hard to keep his thoughts to himself, but he knew Wanda was probably aware of what was going on in his mind. As usual she was probably just worried but it unnerved him that someone could so easily tell what he was feeling.
Nonetheless, it didn’t surprise him when he felt a rather small hand on his shoulder. Wanda’s presence felt reassuring.
He knew she was way younger than he was but she still had that sort of motherly figure which made him strangely relax. He knew she was only trying to help him calm down.
Thing is, he didn’t really know why he was so nervous.
Wanda didn’t need to say a word, she didn’t want him so worked up over the smallest things.
Her long hair was held up in a ponytail and her red eyes were on full display as she was trying to help Bucky.
However, the calm tension in the space was brutally interrupted when Sam and Tony slammed their feet on the jet’s ground.
The loud clang of hitting metal shook most of the teammates of their dazes.
Immediately, Steve approached them.
“So?”
Sam was the first to speak. If he didn’t know how to feel about this mission before, he sure was even more confused now. What would happen now ?
“Nothing, I mean, nobody” He looked as if he was struggling to find the right words, leaving the Avengers in a oppressive suspense.
“Well what do you mean ?” Intervened Wanda who was now standing next to Captain America and desperately trying to understand the situation. Her eyes, which were back to their usual green color, were swirling with various emotions too difficult for Sam to interpret.
He knew that it was hard for the twins, but whatever their sister had gone through, he knew they probably weren’t ready to face her after so many years.
Seeing as Sam wasn’t responding, Tony took three steps and placed himself in the center of the jet. His serious look showed that things weren’t as good as he thought they would have been.
“What he means is that the thermic scan shows so few people I wonder if we’re even at the right, which I know we are because I help Bruce get us here.” He sighed and continued.
“Either they’ve taken her on a mission or something like the videos we’ve seen, or they have discovered that we’re onto them and moved somewhere else”
The tension was growing thicker by the second as every single Avenger was thinking about what could have led to such a bad start for a mission that was this important.
“But by few people what do you mean ?” Bucky couldn’t bear to think that they had waited so long before going saving the young girl and the only result they were getting was a failure.
Now it was Sam’s turn to advance more into the room. The eyes of the people moved onto him and he spoke.
“Simple, there are like twenty people in there, and they’re not guards”
“So who are they?” Pietro was getting impatient, he wanted to run and punch some Hydra agents all the while saving his sister not stand in this quinjet all day debating on who’s in there.
“We know they’re not guards cause it looked like they were in some kind of meeting room, they formed a circle. If there are any guards, there aren’t a lot of them”
Steve ran his hand down his face.
He thought they had everything planned and here they were, not even knowing how many people were in that damned building.
“Bruce put us down please”
“What?”
“Steve no!”
Before all hell broke loose in this jet, Steve shushed his colleagues.
“I know I told you all how important it was for us not to be seen but I fear we don’t have a choice here. If we want to understand the situation and act consequently then we have to go in there”
His strong voice seemed to resonate through the space and it didn’t hold the same despair his eyes were partly showing.
He knew his instructions were going right up against the ones he had kept on pronouncing these past few days, but if he was going to be the leader of the group in times of need, then he had to act upon that role.
Now wasn’t the time for him to show weakness or defeat, not when his teammates were just as lost as he was when it came to know what to do right now.
So, he took matters into his own hands and when the jet landed with a big thud in the snow, he stepped towards the opening gate and motivated the rest of his team.
Since the ‘Civil War’ Tony was always doubtful when it came to letting Steve make all the decisions.
Of course, he didn’t make all of them.
Tony had the better ideas most of the time, who was he kidding.
But right now, he had to admit that he didn’t know what to himself. When Steve decided they had to go and see in order to understand, he wanted so badly to do as usual and defy his teammate, but surprisingly he had been at a loss of words.
He didn’t have any better plan in mind.
So here he was now, flying ahead of the rest of the team to try and get a better look at what was happening in that compound.
Suddenly a flash of silver flew right past him and almost made him lose his balance.
“Quicksilver, a heads up would have been nice” he grumbled into his suit.
Pietro just chuckled and pushed faster, sometimes he was glad he had those powers. Right now, for example, he would be the first to arrive.
Except when he did arrive, he stopped running all at once.
Like one millisecond he was at full speed and the next he stilled.
Leaving a mark in the snow where he skidded a few moments ago, Pietro was gaping at the scene in front of him.
Only when the others arrived, it’s safe to say that Pietro wasn’t the only on left completely speechless.
In front of them, laying in the white, cold duvet of the snow were at least 30 bodies.
Dead bodies.
If it weren’t for the dead men on the floor, the scenery would have been very majestic and beautiful. But it wasn’t.
Because the youngest Maximoff had walked through the doors of the compound and wreaked havoc on her way out.
The sound of the eerie silence was deafening, it was like the angel of death had stopped on Earth to let its chaos out.
Each Avenger could see them clearly. Their skin was now so pale it competed with the bright snow, their lips a blue so striking they would probably remember it forever, but most of all it wasn’t a bloody mess.
Everything was so clean, it looked untouched and pure.
It seemed unbelievable a 16-year-old could do that much damage by herself.
Slowly, carefully, they started walking towards the other side of the now deadly clearing, where the trees started to grow denser.
Slowly, almost so quietly as if they were scared Hydra’s agents would wake up in the following moments.
Tony spoke through the coms to the others.
It startled Pietro who accidentally stepped on a dead soldier’s foot.
“Based on Friday’s deduction skills, they were electrocuted through a 400 Volts electric power flow, in case anyone was still wondering, Mini Thor did cause this mess”

an ! i am extremely sorry for the delay i’m like the worst updater ever, so here’s quite a long chapter i hope you all like and don’t hesitate to give me lots of feedback i love it !!!! Okay so i just want to say that Mal is quite impulsive for those who might think she reacts too strongly or that she’s angry a lot. :)))) THANK YOU for reading

She did not know what she had done wrong, only that she searched for them for 3 years before HYDRA recruited her. She joined them when she learnt Pietro and Wanda had came here after leaving her.    part one    part dos      part tres      part quatro
__________________________________________________________
Numb. The only Mal could describe what she felt when she woke up.
At least she knew she wasn’t dead, she could recognize that smirking voice anywhere.
She could hear him, distinctively. But she couldn’t see him, she couldn’t seem to open her eyes. Or maybe they already were but she had a blindfold one ?
She couldn’t seem to understand what was clearly happening, everything felt so overwhelming. Every single one of her senses were numb, except her hearing.
Mal had always had enhanced senses but her hearing was predominant.
Something that made her so special, more than the fact that she could literally project hundreds of thousands of kilowatts on anyone and anything in a matter of seconds, was that everything in her body seemed enhanced.
The scientists that had studied her for months after she had muted came to the conclusion that her brain was working a lot faster than the average human.
In fact, the electricity flowing through her veins and her brain allowed the nervous messages to be transmitted at least 30 times faster than anyone else.
After her change, Mal saw her reflexes increase as well as her recovery and she could hear, see, smell everything better. Not that her mutation hadn’t created any downsides too.
At first, she couldn’t seem to touch anything electric without frying it. That was also the case with humans, she couldn’t touch anyone without sending them a small dose of her newfound electricity.
Luckily for her, and for the scientists working with her, she rapidly got it under control. Now it only happen when under severe pressure, stress or fatigue.
Right now though, Mal knew her too sensitive self wouldn’t be of any help. She knew whatever they were doing to her, they had found a way to make her powers backfire on her.
She felt trapped and foolish. She should have known.
And no matter how many times she told herself that she couldn’t have possibly seen it coming, she always ended up diminishing herself because if she had paid a little more attention she wouldn’t be stuck in this position right now.
All that thinking made the teen subconsciously struggle against the restraints that were still holding her.
Doctor Von Hulsen was paying close attention to his new teammate when he saw his most recent patient move.
Finally he thought. Maybe he shouldn’t have put that much tranquilizer in that syringe.
Smirking to himself, he interrupted the young trainee in the middle of her story when he walked past her and over to the heart monitor attached to the young girl.
Of course he didn’t really care for her, he just followed the orders so he could prove they had chosen well when they had chosen the new head of experiments.
Now he was the one decision-maker, the other scientists had to obey him and he couldn’t be happier.
He knew everything there was to know about the mutant laying before him. He had been there all throughout her change, all her experiments. From the very first one to the finale.
He was immensely proud to meet her once again as she was well-known in Hydra’s community. Every knew her story and what she was now capable of.
As he ripped the needle from her arm, Mal yelped. Blood trickled down her arm onto the hard, cold and tiled floor.
Dr Von Hulsen was a sadistic man, people knew it. They knew if he could make the patient endure a little more pain than necessary without failing the demand or experiment, well he would do it.
He then took the bucket of cold water he had previously prepared and threw the freezing liquid at the teenager’s face.
Mal gasped as the freezing cold water made contact with her still numb face. But suddenly she could see, and feel everything again.
Her teeth were now chattering and her lips turned a shade lighter as her body struggled to warm itself up.
She glared at the man, thinking of all the ways she could torture him. She dreamt of twisting and snapping his neck with her bare hands.
She didn’t know where this new-found confidence and rage came from but she took advantage of those emotions and before she could even register what she had done she had spat in his face and insulted him.
But when she realized her previous actions, and remembered that here, at Hydra, every action had consequences, she felt her anxiety build back up and triple with force.
Mal felt suddenly very aware of the fact that she was currently strapped down on a cold table, and that this man could pretty much do anything to her. She knew even if she screamed for help, even if she begged and cried, no one would ever come for her.
Just like three years ago, she was terrified of what could happen. But she knew there was no turning back now.
Being 13, she had came to the conclusion that from the moment she had walked through those doors willingly, she could never go back to her old life, nor to the outside world without their permission.
Now, she was older. She had gone through hell in that lab, but being back inside three years after the end of the experiment, she couldn’t help but remember all the pain, the shattering sound of her pleas resonating in her head.
And she knew if only she had started training directly after the incident she wouldn’t be here. They had brought her here for one reason only. And she knew what it was.
It wasn’t to improve her or care for her as they would have tried to make her believe before, she was back here because they knew she wasn’t as gullible as before. They knew she was becoming more and more powerful everyday and if they didn’t control her, it would all have been for nothing.
And that’s what they were afraid of. Mal knew that.
She did now.
The 16-year-old was shocked at how blind she had been those past years, but she was and always had been just another experiment.
But what made her different somehow is that almost nothing had backfired after her mutation. That’s why they had kept her. She was young and easy to manipulate.
And although they might just were starting to see more as a dangerous rebel than a great achievement and asset, they couldn’t just give now.
Not after so much money had been spent on Mal, not after they had accomplished something no other could : restrain immense loads of electricity into a human body.
They knew once she went public with her powers everyone would want to study, admire or fear her, that’s why it had been so important to keep this mission extra-private.
And moreover, they couldn’t risk losing her. She was, after all, possibly the most powerful mutant to exist in their era.
Not that she knew that.
Mal had always been kept in the dark about the extent of her abilities, she knew little about she could do. But she was content with what she had accomplished so far.
She didn’t think about what she could potentially do, she concentrated on getting better at what she knew -sort of- how to do.
Right now though, she cursed mentally at herself. If only she had worked on getting into people’s minds she would already be out of here.
Unfortunately she didn’t know how to do it precisely, and the plastic covering her body wasn’t making the thinking any easier as it tickled her, and she knew it was useless to try and send an electroshock as it would only hurt her.
She felt helpless, once again. And panicky when the doctor wiped the spit off his cheek with a maniacal smile.
He cocked his head to the side and the next second his face was so close to Mal’s she could smell his putrid cologne.
“My dearest child, do you have any idea why you’re here ?” His strong Dutch accent made it difficult for her to understand what he was saying.
She turned her head to the side, mentioning she did not want to talk to that man.
He laughed lightly and traced the contour of her face as she grimaced in disgust.
“You should know, before we start the festivities, that down here no one can hear you scream”
She closed her eyes as they watered, not willing to show any weakness in front of such a disgusting man.
The trainee who was still standing beside the tools table, spoke for the first time, making Mal open her eyes as she realized someone else was there.
“Doctor Von Hulsen, the festivities ?” Her voice felt smooth and innocent.
But the teenager laying on the table knew better than to trust someone based on the looks only.
The tall bearded man turned back around to face the young woman who was wearing the pale green blouse designed for the newbies. He looked down on her as she blushed under the man’s gaze.
“Yes, now give me the scalpel” He simply smiled like a madman would and extended his hand waiting for the woman to comply to his order.
Mal on the other hand, was now quivering on the inside, as the restraints were too tight for her to even breathe correctly.
She was scared, more than ever, for her life.
She thought surely they couldn’t kill her as she was their most valuable asset.
But then she looked into the eyes of the scientist approaching her with a predatory-like gaze and she changed her mind. Because she knew he could easily get rid of her, being the crazed psychopath he was.
Placing his right hand on her cheek, he placed the scalpel on her cheek and started putting pressure.
“Now now, there is one rule my dear.” She was openly listening as her skin of her cheek started to tear under the pressure and she struggled not to scream. Her face contorted into one of pain. “I can do anything I want, and you can’t”.
He then laughed loudly as he cut in the other cheek, her cheekbones now bloody. She wanted to cry out so badly but never would she submit to him.
The tears were burning the wounds as they kept pouring.
Her entire body was burning. It felt like she was on fire.
Actually she was a few minutes ago, when the scientist thought it’d be nice to see how her body would react to the flame.
Mal’s immune system was extremely strong compared to the ordinary human one and she could heal herself abnormally fast. Her easy recovery made it more practical for the doctor.
It meant he could experience more kinds of torture on the young girl.
Her cheekbones had healed nicely and there was no trace of the past cuts, only the now dried blood was left there.
She didn’t know how much time had passed since she woke up the first time, but she knew it had been a long time. She had passed out a few times too, both from the constant pain and the exhaustion.
But the pain had subsided as she concentrated on her anger, that building rage was slowly consuming her entire body.
She was angry, because no one was coming down to get her, to save her from that man. She was angry at herself for not being able to free herself. And she was extremely anger at both the man making the wounds and scars on her body and the woman standing behind him.
She had been there the whole time, watching, taking notes eventually.
The blonde woman was in her mid-20s, looked smart and organized. And she couldn’t help but feel sorry for the poor mutant here.
She didn’t what she was capable of, but she knew she must be bad if she was suffering from this kind of treatment.
She didn’t feel any regret watching this, it would make a great report to hand over at the end of the semester.
Mal had been looking at her, all throughout her painful conscious moments. She knew the woman’s mind was occupied watching or talking to Dr Von Hulsen.
And she felt so much anger inside her, she didn’t want to be locked up anymore. She didn’t want to suffer at the hands of a deranged scientist. She deserved better.
And Madame Hydra had lied to her once again.
Pietro and Wanda had left her.
And Mom and Dad were dead.
They didn’t deserve her.
Mal wondered how that stupid blonde bitch could sleep at night knowing she had watched and smiled as a teenager was being mutilated in front of her.
She wondered, as she was regaining her full awareness and the doctor was searching for a file waiting for the mutant to heal, and she came to a conclusion.
At that precise moment, Mal decided that woman really didn’t deserve to live.
At least not as much as she did.

a/n ! sooo part 2, i was feeling inspired... hope you like it :))
warning ! okay so this isn’t really a warning but let’s pretend my baby Pietro is not dead in this series alright :)
GIMME FEEDBACK PLS :))))
part uno
________________________________________________________________
“You have to try HARDER” Madame HYDRA was now screaming at her. They had been training for five hours now, but Mal never backed down. She knew she had to control her power and if she had to train herself to exhaustion then she’d do it.
Katya Sarkissian, had succeeded her mother Ophelia and was now in charge of this operation. She was quite proud of her recruit, she’d accomplished so much since she had become a mutant.
But the goal was to channel her protégé to the top. She could do great things now, she could do even greater if only she trained more.
“Come on Mal, make him do it !” Narrowing her eyes, the head of operations was getting frustrated with her trainee. “Stop.”
Mal’s posture immediately tensed, awaiting the worst. She hated not being able to do something, she hated disappointing Madame HYDRA. Because she knew her actions had consequences.
She turned her 5′5 frame towards the imposing woman and kept her head high, not an ounce of fear radiating from her body. But deep down she could feel the dread coiling and tugging at her insides.
“What’s distracting you Mal ? You need to concentrate !” The anger in her tone made Mal shiver and want to lash out at her at the same time.
“Nothing, Madame. I have to try harder.” No emotions in her voice, she knew better than to show any vulnerability.
The sigh of frustration that followed her statement almost made Mal wince.
“Don’t lie to me Mal, why can’t you do it?” Miss Sarkassian was cold, she was going to get her to do what she wanted.
“It’s like I can hear the electricity of his nervous system” said the teen while nodding her head towards the man who had been standing there for a few hours now, “but I can’t seem to reach and interfere with it”
Mal’s hands were held in front of her as she has been instructed to do for six years now. When someone talked to her, they had to be able to see her hands, the most dangerous weapon in the facility.
Every person who worked here as HYDRA’s staff or scientist knew that with one touch of her hand they could be dead.
Everyone but Mal.
16 years old Mal Maximoff knew her powers were the result of an experiment that still haunted her at night. But she didn’t feel any remorse, she was proud to be special, to be someone who mattered for once.
To be someone they needed.
In fact, it’s the only thing that mattered for her. That for once in her life, those people weren’t going to let her go as easily as her parents or as her sister and brother did.
She didn’t really know who HYDRA were or what they needed her for, but to be honest she didn’t really care either. She had gained something from them.
Power and a strange sense of stability.
Mal was brought back to reality as the woman in front of her spoke once again. Calmer this time, but there was still an edge to it.
“Well we have to repair that. Try again” It was an order.
The young girl faced the man once more and concentrated. She could feel her own body thrilling and crackling with the electricity flowing through her veins.
She focused on the man and she could hear it, the millions of nerve signals running at incredible speed in his head.
Madame HYDRA decided Mal was in need of a little motivation to achieve and complete her training session.
“You can do it, reach for it like you were reaching for your siblings when they left you, when they abandoned you” She smirked.
Mal reacted to that comment, her green eyes turning a glowing but gloomy purple.
“Come on, don’t you want them to pay, for leaving you, for not caring about you. Once you control that man you control anyone, you control them Mal”
The maleficent woman knew this kind of anger called her power to the surface. She had seen her achieve unimaginable things when annoyed with her past, with her siblings.
And she knew exactly what to say to get her to electrify herself as well as a whole city.
Mal knew deep down that Katya Sarkissian was only trying to get in her head, trying to anger her. But it worked.
Every. Single. Time.
She just couldn’t get past the fact that they had left her.
So she growled while her features were morphing into one of intense concentration. A growing mist invaded the room, making the man cower a bit in fear, under the pressure of Mal’s dominating presence.
“If they had been there, they’d already have done it” That was the final straw.
Mal was burning with anger, she had always been afraid of not being good enough. But she was done of that, she deserved more than being compared to her pathetic siblings.
She finally accessed his brain, hearing and feeling every part of his spine where nerve signals circulated as the man wanted nothing more than to get out of this place.
Madame HYDRA’s words kept on repeating over and over again in her head, she had enough.
She wasn’t afraid. Not anymore.
She intercepted the subconscious nerve signal which allowed the man to breathe without thinking about it.
She intercepted it and blocked it. Along with all the upcoming ones who were trying to seep through her barrier.
She had to prove that she was worthy of this power flowing through her veins. She had to prove to the woman in the room she could trust her, that she could do it.
She wanted more than anything to prove to herself that she wasn’t afraid of death.
And so Madame HYDRA was left speechless and she saw the man clawing at his own throat and then fall limp head first on the floor.
His head cracking open with the impact.
Suddenly the mist vanished and Mal’s eyes returned back to their everyday color.
The head of operation couldn’t help but giggle at the sight of the corpse in front of her. She had expected Mal to react to her comments, to achieve the goal they had set for this session.
What she hadn’t expected was for her to be able to kill that soon. She had figured it would still take a few more months, maybe a year with good preparation and manipulation.
She clapped and went to hug an emotionless teen.
“Congratulations my child ! You did it !” It looked almost as if she was going to start jumping and dancing around the room. It was a rather unusual sight for Mal to see Madame HYDRA that content.
“I am very proud of you, you will get a meal tonight !” She smiled at the young girl.
At this Mal lifted her clouded eyes, and smiled slightly. “Thank you Madame”
Mal never got more than a meal a day, so this meant her trainer was really happy with her.
But now that the anger had subsided, was Mal ever going to accept the fact that she had killed someone? Out of her anger for her family.
New York, Avengers Tower, a week after the first meeting.
“Sooo, anything new on Miss Thunderbolt ?” Sam chuckled when entering the lab where Tony, Steve and Bruce where currently searching for new informations on the girl that had fascinated more than one Avenger.
Tony looked up and pouted “I thought we had agreed on Mini Thor”
“Nah, it’s too confusing” Sam winked and turned to Bruce who readjusted his glasses before speaking.
“Not since yesterday, I’ve tried countless times to run the facial recognition software on that picture but nothing comes out, it’s too pixelated”
Steve sighed and took a seat next to him.
“She doesn’t look very old, that’s what we know”
“How old ?” interrupted Clint who had just arrived.
“I don’t know, she doesn’t seem older than 20. Pretty sure she’s younger than the twins”
Other than confirming that you were in fact part of HYDRA and that the Siberian facility had been in use for the past few years, only the underground part though. That’s why they hadn’t been aware of it.
They weren’t coming up with enough informations to be flying out to Russia and bring down HYDRA.
Even though they knew everything about the location and Bucky had helped with the layout of the facility, they still couldn’t find the identity of the girl which was essential if they even wanted to try and free her of the hold the organization had on her.
“What about the leaders of her experiment ? Do we know anything about them ?”
Ever since Clint had learnt that it was the evil organization behind the powers of the girl, he had tried to help. It felt like he just needed the confirmation that they were going to think this through and get a bit of rest.
Tony pointed his index towards him “That my friend, we can tell you more about”
He stood up “FRIDAY, files on the mean Lady please”
He then proceeded to show them to everyone in the room, even though Bruce and Steve had already seen them. “That” he pointed to a tall and fierce looking woman in the picture “is Katya Sarkissian, head of operations at the Siberian facility, daughter of the infamous Ophelia Sarkissian”
“So she’s following in her mother’s footsteps” Sam was trying to piece it all together, the name seemed quite unfamiliar.
“Yes, well not exactly her mother, Viper, had an on-going narcotics business and was set on world domination, it seems our current Madame HYDRA inherited
the title but that’s it” Cap explained, a serious look in his eyes.
Tony nodded before continuing with the infos.
“We know she moved up the ranks pretty fast, having learnt quite a few things from her mother until now, where she is officially ‘researching on chemical and biological weapons for the Russian Army’. Those being human trials apparently.”
They all seemed to understand so he finished.
“We suppose she is the supervisor of the operation and she has multiple persons with advanced abilities under experiment including Mini Thor”
“Okay, that’s great” Clint was being sarcastic, he knew they had to bring this operation down before it took a nasty turn.

It was time.
When Bucky’s alarm went off, he knew today was the day he had been waiting for quite some time now.
His face was serious, as usual. And he got up, almost mechanically, went to his bathroom and splashed his face with cold water. James Buchanan Barnes wasn’t really someone to feel nervous, he was either feeling angry, guilty or some sense of happiness he didn’t really want to acknowledge.
He didn’t like being vulnerable, but he knew and couldn’t ignore the fact that he was nervous about this particular mission.
Never in his life would he have thought that he would be going back to the Siberian Compound willingly.
But here he was, staring at his dripping reflection in the mirror. Overthinking the situation and how it could go wrong for the girl.
Turning the water off he dried his face with a random towel and got dressed in a haste before jogging down to the kitchen, where the others were already debriefing the mission. For what seemed like the millionth time in three days.
He took a bite into an apple and listened as Steve reminded each team member that the main goal was to get the youngest Maximoff out. That in no possible and reasonable way they would take out Hydra’s Russian team today.
Without even looking at his best friend he knew he was staring right at him. He nodded and remained calm.
Steve couldn’t help but feel concerned for the man in front of him. He knew as soon as he would be back on Russian soil Bucky would be tense. It would be even worse being in the place that got him to forget about everything at first.
If he could have prevented him from going onto this mission with them, he would have. But the Super soldier knew better than to try and reason with his best friend.
So, he would just have to remind him constantly to be careful. Because he didn’t want to lose him.
Not again.
This morning was a quiet one.
The Avengers didn’t really know what they would be walking into. It stressed Tony out, and his rambling didn’t help anyone else.
They all got into the same quinjet and took off for Russia, heavily armed with their favorite weapons. Still, they hoped they wouldn’t have the opportunity to use them, and even most of them knew that was probably inevitable. Bruce was internally praying so he wouldn’t have to turn into the big green meanie.
  Fatigue.
That’s all Mal could feel. Her tired limbs strained as she pushed herself to her limits and ran faster if it was possible.
She could feel the coldness of the snow underneath her feet. But she also felt the deep cut under her right foot, it was pulling on her skin as her body was desperately trying to regenerate the flesh.
Her heightened senses made everything so much more exhilarating. The adrenaline and electricity flowing through her veins weren’t helping as she kept trying to calm herself down.
She could smell the scent of the pines, the cold and pure air filling her lungs as she felt like she was on fire.
The deep contrast between the temperature of her body and the soil’s made it almost impossible for her not to lie down right there and enjoy the freezing snow.
But she knew she couldn’t. And that last bit of will she had, she held onto.
That’s all she had left now. If she didn’t listen to reason now that there was no one to save her, how would she survive?
She could see the bright colors of the nature. You would think that after spending so much time indoors and not seeing the outside world would make you afraid of it. But Mal wasn’t your ordinary girl and those colors she memorized.
She felt like any moment now, this could all disappear. In a matter of seconds, she would be back on that chair, still being cut into.
That thought only made her push harder, she knew she couldn’t last long at full speed even with the amount of training she had had.
So, she put all her efforts of being as far as possible from the compound for now. She didn’t know what she would do then but she hadn’t prepared a whole plan before sprinting her way out of that atrocious building.
The teen could hear the wind hissing at her ears, and the shouts coming from a distance now.
She knew she had set chaos and Hydra’s people were probably too distracted and disoriented to actively search for her, or do it in an efficient manner.
If her statistics were right it was only a matter of 30 minutes before they started raiding the surrounding areas.
But suddenly her body came to a halt.
She could see her heavy breaths in the air as she tried to regain a normal breathing. With al this blood rushing to her head, Mal couldn’t think properly.
Although she didn’t remember much from her life pre-experiment, she remembered a movie she had seen with her siblings.
She remembered how stupid she thought the girl running from the killer was, she kept making the wrong choices, and it had gotten her killed in the end.
In that moment, Mal opened her eyes and looked to the white, clouded sky. It blinded her, the sudden brightness not leaving enough time for her eyes to adjust. And she decided she wasn’t about to be the stupid dead girl in the horror movie.
She stopped running and instead took it upon herself to climb the strong tree in front of her.
As a matter of fact, she knew if she had continued to run for at least ten minutes more, she would have passed out.
And again, the young girl would have woken up in the compound she had spent the last three years living in.
Now that wasn’t something she wanted to include in her last-minute plan.
An hour after she had finally climbed that tree, Mal finally arrived in the small town she had seen from afar.
Unfortunately, she knew she couldn’t stay here long. She knew Hydra’s dogs would be after her, and would be tearing up entire villages and families to get to her.
She felt sorry for what she was about to impose on people. But she had only two choices right now, either she could surrender and be taken back to her cell or she could run away now and be free. She chose the latter.
Even if that meant she had to be on the run her whole life.
She sighed as she entered a small shop. Her wild eyes weren’t accustomed to seeing that much people, she was scared but wasn’t showing it.
As soon as she set foot through the doors, she knew she only had a few minutes before people started to notice her and ask questions about her appearance.
Why didn’t she have shoes on? Why was she dressed so lightly? Why did she seem all bloody and dirty?
So, making herself as small as possible, even if her 5’4 frame wasn’t the most noticeable one, she rushed to the corner of the place where the clothes were stored.
She took some cargo pants, a black t-shirt and a camouflage vest before going into the fitting room and putting the clothing on. Checking the shoes section, she chose a random pair of combat boots in her size and quickly put them on.
By now, she knew the owner of the store had probably noticed her presence. She didn’t really know what to do.
Mal had checked the clothes for any antitheft system and was glad when she couldn’t find any. All she had to do now was walk out those doors without anyone stopping her.
She looked with envy at the various types of foods presented to her in the alleys of the store.
But any hope of eating was crushed when she saw her opportunity to flee. The cashier took his break and went to the back of the store, the time for the substitute to come and replace him left her enough time to walk out the doors.
And then she ran, again.
She shoved someone on her way out but didn’t stop, only looking back to yell an apology “Извините!”
She heard the person curse back loudly at her and people stopped in the street to help the man stand up.
The teenager knew the clock was ticking, she had taken too much time at the store, now she had to run to the train station. Not paying attention to the people around her, she ran and got in the train as it was leaving the station.
The controller yelled at the young girl in Russian and she only opened the door while giving him the middle finger.
She was tired of people trying to make her obey and comply to their every demand.
As she was in the last wagon, she didn’t bother apologizing to the people who were already there since most of them were sleeping homeless.
But now that she thought about it, she had no home either.
She struggled as she tried to open the window by her seat. She put as much force as she could and finally it slided a little and the fresh air made her hair fly in every direction.
Honestly, she didn’t really care about her hair, or the way she looked right now really.
She probably looked worse than those homeless people on the train with her. But she felt more alive than ever.
Sure, she had no home, no family, no money. But she had one thing.
One thing people wouldn’t ever take away from her.
She wouldn’t let it happen ever again, she promised herself.
And that was, her freedom.
Yes, she was free now.
But was she safe ?

FRIDAY startled most of the Avengers in the tower when she spoke .
- All Avengers are required to meet in the meeting room immediately -
It was 4:06pm and Tony wished this day had ended already. And hour before that, he was working on the optimization of his suit while watching the news on three different screens at the same time when something caught his eye.
After gathering enough informations on the situation he decided it was best if he notified the rest of the team.
Seating at the end of the table he waited quite impatiently for everyone to take a seat.
Steve was the first to arrive, a frown had made its way on his face realizing it wasn’t in Tony’s habits to suddenly call a team meeting without letting him know beforehand.
One by one, every member piled up in the chairs around the table.
Pietro and Wanda were the last to arrive since they had been, since the beginning of the afternoon, in the witch’s bedroom, hanging out. It was one of the furthest away from this part of the Tower.
Everyone was rather confused as to why they had been summoned for a meeting when most of them were just coming back from different missions around the world.
With the tension increasing in the room, Steve decided to speak up.
“What’s the matter Tony ? Why did you call a meeting ?” He was calm, as usual, but still had this edge to his tone, giving away the urgency he felt.
Tony sighed, knowing most of them would be disappointed to see their rest cut short.
“I’m not sure yet, but I think HYDRA is back in the game. Trying to create weapons... again”
He could see Natasha frowning as well as the others and before anyone could ask him the question he added.
"Human weapons”
Everyone in the room knew what that meant. Everyone looked from the corner of their eye or directly to the twins who were both shocked by the news. Them, who thought they finally had turned the page of this dark chapter in both their lives.
But the cause of this meeting left them speechless as they tried to wrap their heads around the fact that some people were suffering as much as they had in order to benefit an evil organization.
A million questions running through his head Clint asked “What makes you think that ?”
All of them turned back to Tony who was now searching for the video he had seen earlier.
“Monday this week, someone recorded a video from a private helicopter where you can see the whole city of Moscow short-circuit and 52 seconds later” He waited for the moment in the video “the power is put back on everywhere, now I know it’s not unsual for parts of a city to short-circuit, but the whole city ?”
“Not to mention you can’t put back on the power of thousands of districts in a matter of seconds” added an astonished Bruce.
Tony nodded towards him as if saying ‘exactly’. He then proceeded to show his teammates a few pictures which appeared on the wall one after the other.
Some showed bolts of lighting in the middle of a sunny day, others were articles explaining that entire neighbourhoods were without any electricity for days and not a single person could fix, people claiming electricity meters and cables were intact.
But what proved to the Avengers that Tony’s theory was the most plausible one was the last video that showed up on the screen and illuminated the dark room.
“Ho-, wh-, what the hell?”  Sam needed answers, as well as the rest of the team.
The blurry and trembling image showed a rather small figure, possibly a teenager, her back facing the camera but her hair blowing in the harsh wind of a storm. Arms outstretched in front of her, a dark violet mist surrounding her making it harder to distinguish her features.
Then, a flash of white light dazzled the fascinated Avengers as the camera fell to the ground, letting it shatter and stopping the recording.
The sound of the stores opening and bathing the room in natural light was now the only sound coming out of the meeting room.
Still shook, Pietro broke the silence asking in a breathless voice. “How do we know it’s HYDRA’s doing ?”
Wanda, who sat next to her brother, shook her head “How can you expect it not to be them ?”
Tony put his hands on the table where a map showed up.
“I checked the location where each of these stuffs were taken, it’s all been happening in Russia”
He looked up at Steve, whose frown had deepened.
“The Siberian faciity?” Captain America was even more curious now.
“Almost certain” replied Tony.
That made Bucky look up. He was quite familiar with that place and would never ever wish for anyone to end up there. Some nights, he still had nightmares sometimes so real he felt like he was there once again.
His heart ached for the poor girl if she was imprisoned there.
“Do you have any info on the girl ?”
Seeing as Tony shooked his head, Steve knew his best friend was going to try and find her. He was still searching for some kind of redemption for all he had done under HYDRA’s control and if it meant saving that teen then so be it.
He put his hand on Bucky’s shoulder as a sign of support.
“We will Buck, we won’t let HYDRA make any more victims.”
Clint who had been quiet until now, interrupted with a strong voice “We’re still not sure it was HYDRA, as far as we know the Siberian facility is still shut down and the girl hasn’t caused any major problems”
Sam chuckled and turned around in his chair so he could face his friend.
“Man, she hasn’t caused any major problems for now”
“It’s true what if tomorrow they decide to fly her out here in New York and short-circuit everything” added Steve while crossing his arms across his chest.
He knew Clint was probably just tired of running around all the time, preventing him from seeing his family as much as he wanted to, but he couldn't believe he was willing to let HYDRA manipulate a young girl.
Clint frowned “Steve we don’t know if it’s HYDRA yet, the short-circuit could be an edited video or something”
Wanda looked at him in the eyes “Don’t you want to know who the girl is ?”
He sighed, everyone was looking at him now, he just didn’t understand how these people could never get an ounce of sleep and still be ready to fight for every cause they found.
“Yes, of course I do!” It was obvious the girl had something intriguing going on around her “But I just don’t want us to rush in this headlong and find ourselves weakened when we’re finally back together”
At that, Natasha smiled “Aww, seems like someone cares about us more than he’d like to admit”
A few of them laughed quietly, CLint shook his head smiling.
Bruce stood up, looking thoroughly interested in the task he was about to devote hours to “Well, I’ll start investigating”
Tony followed and exclaimed “Let’s go find out more on Mini Thor”
Sam laughed
“Careful he might hear and come crush you with his Mini fucking Thor” he was now cackling “Understand ? Mini-Fucking-Thor, cause it’s his di-”
“Language, careful Wilson we’ve got children here”
“Sorry Cap’” Still laughing, Sam apologized, while the twins rolled their eyes.
“You do know we’re 23 right ?” deadpanned Pietro.
Steve shrugged and walked out the door, followed by a smiling Sam, who was still recovering from his joke and Natasha who was talking to Clint.
Were left in the room HYDRA’s previous experiments.

________________________________________________________________
It had been a month or so now. And still Mal couldn’t seem to wrap her head around the fact that she had killed that man.
Sure he probably wasn’t innocent, but did he really deserve to die ?
As the days passed, she wasn’t able to focus anymore. She felt like she was carrying around her burden and it kept weighing her down.
She hated feeling like this. Helpless.
Even more so given that she wasn’t one to reach out for comfort or sympathy from others. And even if she did, she most probably wouldn’t be getting any here, in Hydra’s compound.
Her inability to focus and concentrate on her training was starting to unnerve Miss Sarkassian. She knew she had to let the young girl have some space in fear of pressuring her into a intense training that would only lead to the failure of the on-going operation.
But it bothered her. It kept her from sleeping peacefully at night. She knew her mission was being delayed solely because the teen couldn’t separate the work from the feelings.
She had much to learn.
Mal felt she was slowly angering her mentor. Even though she tried to seem unbothered and insensitive to the various glares she felt burning on her back when she wandered aimlessly around the facility’s part she was allowed to stay in, she felt her powers slowly burning underneath her skin.
As if begging her to unleash them, to let them loose. It had been a month since she had used them.
And the anger she felt towards Madame Hydra kept growing, eating away at her insides. Making her entire body sizzle with the urge to electrify that woman to death.
Mal didn't know how to describe herself anymore. She couldn’t help but feel that strange and vicious darkness enveloping her from time to time.
She could see it, changing her, as if she was seeing things from a new perspective.
This morning, Mal woke up to the sound of an alarm. A loud and obnoxious sound which hurt her enhanced hearing.
Although she knew better than to just let her emotions get the best of her, so she rushed to her small private bathroom where she changed, out of the camera’s range, into her everyday outfit.
A combat gear. It was ill-fitted, seemed too big for her. She knew it had probably belonged to another girl before her. A taller one.
As she got out of the small space, the room she was locked in for the night slammed open and four heavily armed soldiers circled the young girl.
Barely awaken she felt threatened as Madame Hydra stepped into the room and looked at her, eyes cold as ice.
“Get her out there” Her tone sharp, she crossed her arms across her chest and waited for the guards to follow her orders.
As she was escorted from the room into an unknown corridor, Mal knew better than to struggle or ask questions.
She kept her face blank, bare of any emotions that could give away her fear or the pain in her arms because of the soldiers’ grip on her.
She walked in sync with them for about five minutes until they stopped when they arrived in front of what looked like doors to the outside world.
As confused as she was, the teenager refused to question her trainer’s actions. She refused to show her how much faith she had lost in her since the incident.
Katya Sarkissian would never admit to the world, but she was worried.
Unfortunately she wasn’t the one who had planned the little activity Mal would be delivered to once she stepped between those doors.
Her superior had confessed, or rather demanded, that Mal was to be shown who were the leaders. That she couldn’t just wander around as if she was on some sort of vacation.
She was here because she had a purpose and if she didn’t want to fulfill it anymore then they’d have to convince her.
The timeline had ended, which meant they were tired of waiting. Madame Hydra never ever thought she would care for some stupid mutant.
But Mal was something else, and she knew it. Everyone knew it.
She knew what was standing on the other side of those doors, she knew she wasn’t leading Mal outside for another mission.
But she preferred pretending she wasn’t aware, so maybe, just maybe, when her protégée got out of that place she would still trust her somehow.
Mal turned her head to look at the woman who was standing beside the small group. She knew there were going to be bruises and her arms, they felt kind of numb.
“Mal, once you go through that door you’ll be in for another mission. It’s time. We won’t see each other for awhile but I am sure you will do great.” She smiled tightly, as if she wanted to add something but couldn’t.
The girl ignored her. She turned back towards the doors as she knew the certainty in her mentor’s voice felt more like a implied threat.
Something along the lines of ‘you don’t wanna find out what’s gonna happen if you don’t succeed’.
Memories of the last failed mission flooding her head, Mal shivered in fright.
She did not want to live that again.
She was determined and she was going to succeed no matter what the mission consisted of.
“Are you ready ?”
Suddenly she felt something surge through her entire being, she felt like they were hiding something.
This wasn’t a regular mission like those she had been accustomed to do in the past years. This was something bigger.
Something bad.
But either way, she didn’t have a choice in the end.
So she whispered “Yes.”
As the word slipped out her mouth, the doors opened and she could feel her entire being trembling, betraying her as her fear was displayed to anyone looking at her right now.
The light of the sun blinded her as they stepped outside.
But when she couldn’t feel the heat on her face or the light rumble of the wind in the sky, she panicked opening her eyes.
That’s when she knew she was right.
The sun wasn’t illuminating the grey sky, the white and agressive light of the neons in the ceiling were.
She couldn’t feel the wind in her hair because there was no wind, in fact it felt like there was no air at all. Mal felt like she was suffocating, she couldn’t breathe anymore.
She couldn’t stand on her own when her breathing became rapid and irregular. It wasn’t exactly the fact that she had been tricked into thinking she was going outside when she wasn’t that made her suddenly very aware and anxious.
It was more that in front of her stood, mighty and proud, a chair. But not just a simple chair, it was wired to all kinds of machine and restraints were there.
Seeing as they were made of very thick plastic material, she knew that chair had been made for her.
Scientists were discussing near her but she couldn’t hear them over the sound of the blood rushing to her head.
This time, she didn’t try hiding what she was feeling. She struggled and kicked and fought against those soldiers who were restraining her. She looked over her shoulder in a attempt to see the woman behind all this. But to her dismay, the doors had already been closed.
When she felt her powers take control of her actions, sensing her inability to fight back, she was astonished when nothing came out.
Everything was there, the power was prickling at her skin desperately trying to come out but couldn’t.
That’s when the pain kicked in.
She fell to her knees as the soldiers loosened their hold on her, she cried out as her own electricity felt locked down in her body.
“Install her on the seat please” the tallest man in a white coat asked the soldiers.
She shook her hear, knowing something even worse was coming.
And as she was about to beg them another wave of pain hit her, leaving her breathless, her mouth gaping. She trashed around trying to break free of the restraints that were now holding her close and stuck to the chair.
When the pain subsided a little, she opened her eyes and look straight at the man who was now taking a needle filled with a translucent liquid.
“Wha- what is h-happening ?” She didn’t recognize her own voice, it felt distant and weak.
“Dear child, didn’t you notice something was different with your outfit this morning ?”
He smirked and looked at her with an evil glint in his eyes.
That’s when she knew. That’s when she understood how all this was happening.
As he stuck the needle in her now limp body she was fuming on the inside.
That’s why her combat gear felt bigger and thicker than usual and why it smelled so weird. A smell she wouldn’t ever forget.
She could feel it now, her electricity was stuck between her skin and the inside of the outfit, made with an almost undetectable layer of plastic sort of fabric.
Mal felt stupid, how could she fall for that.
She felt angry, angrier than ever.
And most of all she was hurt, physically and mentally.
Once again, the world had proven how little people cared for her.
Madame Hydra had been pretending all along she thought, she didn’t give a damn about her.
And as rage took over her body, her heart broke.
Once again.
As Mal fell into unconsciousness, she wondered if she could survive another heartbreak, or if she should just let herself die tortured at the hands of that man.

summary ! The youngest of the Maximoff siblings had lived through heartbreak twice now. First her parents’ death and then her older siblings’ abandonment. She didn’t know what she’d done wrong, only that she searched for them for 3 years before HYDRA recruited her. She joined them when she learnt Pietro and Wanda had came here after leaving her. Now 6 years after their departure, she was in the process of becoming HYDRA’s best asset ever.

It was friday night, that meant a night off for every Avenger, no exceptions. No work, no hassle and no stress, it was now a rule.
A rule Bruce seemed to love breaking, in secret of course. Especially on nights like these where Tony held his “special” parties, gathering every single celebrity out and about in NYC. Parties where the Avengers usually would have some fun.
But Bruce just couldn’t let this go. It had been a month now, a month of research and a month of failure.
Hydra had been a lot more careful than usual. Their protégée only seemed to go out when needed which wasn’t often and when she did go outside, no one deemed important to take pictures of her.
Of course he couldn’t blame them, Russians didn’t know who she was or what she was capable of. They didn’t know the multiple electrical incidents which had taken place all over the country for the past 2 years were all because of her.
It seemed impossible for Bruce to let go of this case. He needed to find out who that teen was, her powers seemed too incredible and strong to ignore.
Something that looked about fine to the other members of the team, at least for tonight.
Otherwise, it seemed the disturbingly-powerful mutant had everyone in the Tower pretty frustrated. They were all trying to figure out this investigation.
Although tonight, they had decided it was time to get some fun and free time to try and forget about it for one night at least. Even if for most of them, that meant getting drunk.
But the one they called ‘The Incredible Hulk’ wasn’t about to give up especially when he felt like he was so close to succeed.
So that was why, at now 12:14 am, he was doing -as discreetly as he could- researches in the lab.
The party had started at 9 pm and everybody was having fun, that made Tony happy, although he thought maybe it was not spicy enough. People were chatting and some were dancing but other than that, no one was trashing the furniture or tripping in someone else’s vomit, no one was about or already passed out on the couch.
Something wasn’t right, they were supposed to get drunk. It was supposed to be one of Tony Stark’s famous parties. And that meant something.
It usually meant people would be talking about it for weeks following the event, and that if you weren’t invited, well you were truly missing something out of the ordinary.
People weren’t at some pointless gala, they had to let loose.
So as gracefully as he could he tried to sneak in between the groups of people to reach the mighty man in the room. Thor.
Thor had came back the week before the party, he was rather impressed to see the pictures of a little mortal girl, as he called her, who could maybe do the same things as him.
He wanted to meet her, to reassure himself he was stronger than her and that she wasn’t about to steal Mjolnir from him.
When Tony arrived next to Thor, he pushed the man he was talking to to the side so he could be face to face with his friend. Thor frowned but didn’t help the guy who was now slightly disoriented and embarrassed.
“Thor, how are you ?” He took the man’s drink who was there before and drank it all before cringing at the glass’ content.
“I am grea-” Thor was cut mid-sentence.
“That’s fantastic, okay so I need a favor. See this party could use a little more fun, now I was thinking if you could just throw Mjolnir around the room, just a little something so people get all excited about it, then I make an entrance and start giving shots to everyone, so we can really get this party started” Tony was now smiling, he knew Thor couldn’t resist a little show of force.
Thor was contemplating his suggestion. He thought why not show all he could do with a powerful weapon such as his hammer. He was a god after all, these mortals would be impressed.
“I agree to your evil plan” Tony squealed like a small girl.
"Then you go right there and wait for my signal” He nearly ran to the stairs and disappeared after the door closed.
Thor positioned himself, and was ready to throw Mjolnir at any given moment now.
When the song changed from a slow to a very upbeat one, someone turn the volume up. Confused, Thor didn’t know what kind of signal he was waiting for, so naturally he deducted this was it.
He clapped, people turned his way. He took Mjolnir in one hand, they started to worry.
Thor threw his weapon across the room, people started screaming and searched for shelter from this murderous hammer which was now flying along the walls, knocking everything down.
When he caught Mjolnir, the guests started panicking and running towards the elevators, leaving the party all together.
Tony arrived in his Iron Man suit with the mask still off, a tray with shots on one hand.
His smiling face contorted into a furious one when he saw what was the cause of all this racket if it wasn’t the thrill of the party. He then saw that Thor hadn’t caused the exhilaration of the guests but rather their terror.
“God dammit, what the hell were you thinking ? I didn’t give the signal” He was pacing, after having thrown his tray at Thor who had just dodged it that is.
Natasha, Pietro and the others were seated on the various couches. Some sighed and others almost looked relieved that this party was finally over -cough-Clint-cough-.
As Thor was about to respond, Bruce arrived running in the now destroyed living room.
His pace slowed down when seeing the small amount of people and the damages that had been done to the room. His first appearance of the night attracted the rest of the team’s attention.
Especially Tony’s.
He pointed an accusing finger towards his lab partner “And where were you Mister ‘I-think-I-can-skip-this-party-and-go-unnoticed’ ? Does anyone get that we were supposed to have fun ?”
The glare that burnt the side of Thor’s head didn’t seem to bother him.
Bruce was still lost and for a moment he forgot why he was running in the first place.
“Guys !” he shouted and everyone stood still for a second.
“Guys, I...., I, wait” he stood straight and regained his breathing “I found her”
Most of the others began frowning, wondering what the hell he was talking about. Most of them.
But not Bucky.
Bucky hadn’t been able to sleep correctly since he had found out about the girl. She was detained in the same facility as he had been and he couldn’t help but worry for her safety. He didn’t want a kid to go through the same things he had been.
He desperately wanted to help, but he wasn’t good with technology and he knew he would have been more of a liability than a help.
He stood up, making Steve frown.
“Who is she ?” He asked rather demanding.
Catching up with the subject, everyone stood up and started asking questions. Once more, the living room was a chaotic uproar.
Tony wasn’t angry anymore, he asked FRIDAY to get the suit back to its chamber and started walking towards the lab before Bruce placed a hand on his chest, preventing him from going any further.
He frowned and opened the mouth to speak but Bruce beat him to it “Guys, before we go and you all see who she is, I think it’s safe to say that some people owe us an explanation”
Looking directly at Pietro and Wanda, he felt angry and disappointed even if his gaze was more confused than anything else.
Following his eyes, everyone turned to look at the twins who couldn’t look more baffled. “What ?” they asked in unison.
“Follow me” sighed Bruce.
Once they had all taken a seat in the conference room, where they had discussed the subject for the first time, Bruce projected an image on the wall.
It showed a young girl, dark chesnut hair which fell just below her shoulders. Her eyes, a weird mix of green and hazel, had this look. A look which didn’t usually belong to a teenager.
It was a mix of anger, hurt, and determination. The picture showed the teen walking behind Hydra soldiers, she was dressed in poor clothing and the picture was dated from 2 years ago.
Strangely enough, she seemed a bit familiar to most of the Avengers. It’s like they had seen her before but couldn’t pinpoint who she was.
Mere seconds after the display of the picture, Bruce got the reaction he awaited from the twins.
Wanda gasped, her hand flying to her mouth and Pietro clenched his jaw. Their opposed hands joining so they could hold each other, while they processed what they were seeing.
“What ? You guys know who she is ?” Tony was frantic. But incredibly relieved that they finally had some more info on the girl.
Wanda felt her whole world shift underneath her, it was as if she was reaching for something to hold onto but kept on falling over and over again.
Her eyes watering, she held back a sob. There she was, right before her, her baby sister. The one she thought she’d lost was in reality alive.
She whispered, her voice quivering “Amalya”.
Pietro’s fists were clenched too, it felt like his entire body had been frozen. He couldn’t move, couldn’t say anything. The only thing he could do was look at his little sister walking away willingly with bad and evil people.
He knew that he was somewhat responsible for this.
“Guys, you have to tell everyone, they deserve to know. I mean you should have told everyone a couple years ago” For what felt like the millionth time tonight, Bruce sighed, he couldn’t believe his theory turned out to be right.
His comment infuriated Wanda, she stood up, red glowing magic dancing furiously around her. Her red eyes now fixated on Bruce.
“Wanda you have to calm down, whatever this is we can sort it out” Steve was trying to release some of the tension that was suffocating the room, he didn’t like to see his friends fighting.
But he had to admit she looked extremely scary.
“We thought she was dead” Her voice cracking. “Dead”
She turned towards the table and the confused member of the team, regaining her composure, she sniffed and blinked back the tears that were threatening to flow down her cheeks.
“She’s Amalya Maximoff, our little sister”, Wanda let herself fall back into the chair, as if her body had been drained of energy.
Pietro leaned towards his twin-sister and hugged her close.
While the shock was visible on some of the faces who still hadn’t put the pieces back together yet, everyone was trying to process the news.
There was another Maximoff.
And she was involved with Hydra, same as the others had been.
Things couldn’t possibly get more complicated. At least, that’s what they thought.
