And I still was munching on cookies that I baked yesterday, still a few left.

Losi, whose been out for a while also has been hanging out around the house and I realize that I have a bit of news I should probably tell him. I am a little worried? He does seem like the wandering type after all...

I'm really not sure it is fair that while I have to carry this baby Losi can just go about his day as usual.

I guess I'm a little jealous but I am happy that he's still hanging around.

As for Losi, my very new boyfriend, he’s been enjoying his time with me and he’s not shy about admitting that.

“I just like that you’re not always on my butt!” He tells me. 

I’m not quite sure I understand the phrase though and so look a little confused. “Huh?”

“I don’t spend much time here and you are not demanding where I’ve been.”

Oooh, he means I’m not one of those women that keeps tabs on her guy. I guess I haven’t been that way with him but my relationship is still so fresh and new with him that I’ve had nothing to be suspicious about with him. “Its so good outside, very beautiful! Why would I think you spend too much time inside?” 

He agreed with a nod of his head. I’m glad my somewhat broken simlish is understandable. “I think this is the start of something beautiful!”

“Yes! Very beautiful!”

Episode 3 ~ Secrets of the Sea

Soon the falling sun had painted the skies a rich golden color and the day begin to cool. A day of cleaning the beaches, building sandcastles, and even sailing meant I was ready to just sit down somewhere and enjoy the rest of it with Losi, or try to.

"You know the best part of Shores day? Telling beach jokes," he tells me.

"Jokes? Beach jokes?"

"What did the ocean tell to the beach?" He blurts out, seemingly ready and eager to tell this one. I part my lips to give a reply but he beats me to it. "Nothing, it just waved!"

"Ummm-"

"Why don't oysters donate to charity?" Again, I open my mouth to say something and again he's ready to cut me off. "Because they are shellfish!"

"Shellfi-"

"What did the beach say to the tide when it came in late?" This time I don't even try to answer. "Long time no sea!"

"Ok."

I'm not so sure I enjoy this part of Shores day.

I finished my cookies and pushed the plate to the side, calling over Losi who cheerily comes over and takes the stool next to me. I really hope I'm not about to ruin his day or rather, life.

"I'm pregnant," I say, my little knowledge of simlish forcing me to just come right out with it. For a moment, he doesn't reply. Just stares at me. "Pregnant, I'm having a baby-"

"Yeah?" His tone unsure, the questioning lilt to it makes me hesitant of what to say.

"Are you....quitting?"

"Quitting?" He laughs a little and shakes his head. "Leaving you, you mean?"

"Yes-"

"No, no I don't think I will. This might not have been planned but I just don't have it in me to not do my part, or try to, at least.”

That's a relief to hear!

Episode 2 ~ Wave After Wave

I remember my mom telling me that living with others can be difficult and challenging and full of compromises buuuuuut on this one she is wrong!

Losi is super easy to live with and he’s always a pleasure to talk to. I know we might not technically be a couple, we haven’t spoken about it but I feel like nothing else needs to be said, right? We live together and we spend a ton of time together and we share intimacy, an intimacy that I think we both enjoy, at least I know I enjoy it. So, in my mind, we are a couple. 

I also plan on learning more about the man I’m with like for example, he’s a musician but I don’t even know what kind of music he makes! “What do you name it?” 

“Oh, its like folk, if you know that? Just give me a guitar with the sound of the sea behind me and I feel like I could strum out a song.”

“About?”

“Sulani, you know? The beaches, the weather, the people, the food, the love, the life, the joys and triumphs of it all. Just, music, you know?”

I nod my head, lost in the sound of his voice, it’s so deep and soothing and I’ve seen a hint of it in action. I know its the kind of tone that rumbles through you and tickles your very soul. 

“Its nice,” I find myself saying, staring at him for a while as I picture him on the restored shores of Sulani, flicking at the strings of his guitar and crooning out into the deep blue sea. 

“I think I’m okay, you know? Nothing special but-”

“No no, you are...perfect? Amazing! I really learn happiness with your voice.”

“Kyoko, you are adorable. Maybe one day I’ll write a song about you?”

Ooh if he does that I’ll propose to him!

So you know that’s exactly what happens. It feels like we just both can’t get enough of each other and thankfully no one else was on this particular beach but there was a sailboat off in the distance, I wonder if they could make out what was happening on the shores.

But ultimately it was a good day! I cleaned the shores and spent some quality time with a man who will forever be tied to me, for better or worse, hopefully better. Only time will tell, as they say...

After out little sand building exercise he wanted to push me on the swings. I've told him that it might not be the best idea with me being pregnant but I was in good hands.

Shores day isn't only about cleaning the beaches it is also about relaxing and celebrating our shores. That means building sand castles of course and Losi wanted to build one together!

I've built sandcastles before with him but it does feel different now knowing that he's the father of my child. I am already imagining a family beach outing and looking forward to it.

I found a small sailing ship on the shore and both Losi and Hawea encouraged me to take it out to the sea and how could I turn that down?

It was cool to see so many people out swimming as well, I guess Shores day is a really popular holiday!

"It's always good to see someone cleaning up the beaches and sharing the spirit of Shores day," some strange man says but while he is unfamiliar to me it looks like Losi knows him a little better.

"Ah, this is one of the elders, Kyoko. Hawea."

"Nice meeting ya, I seen ya around doing your part, its much appreciated. Most tourists just throw their garbage on the ground and move on."

"O-oh, yes, I do best here. To help-"

Hawea grunts and nods, not wanting to say more and then turns to look between myself and Losi. "Well, I won't bother you two anymore. Enjoy the day."

So it's off to clean the shores which for whatever reason seem a lot dirtier today.

Kind of ironic that it's a vacation day and I'm working any ways but I've really dug into the idea of cleaning Sulani up and even more so now that I know my little one will call this place home.

I want to make sure he or she will only know Sulani as home to sparkling sandy beaches with crystal blue waters!

I'm all prepared to discuss such things with Losi but he simply doesn't allow it! Instead, he mentions that today is a holiday which is news to me.

"Shores Day!" he announces.

"What does th-"

"Oh, nothing too exciting. Just a day were we celebrate the ocean, cleaning the shores, you know?"

"Oh, ok!" Umm, I do this every day?

Episode 3 ~ Secrets of the Sea

You know, I have noticed that I was gaining weight so it's great to know the reason behind it. I'm still not sure how to feel about my pregnancy. I know, yes, it's something I should be thankful for, it's the creation of life, it's beautiful, etc etc but...

There is a lot of uncertainty behind it as well. I came down here to find myself, to push my limits and enjoy a tropical location for a while and now? Now I feel I might be tied down here.

I am tempted to just run back home, to the cold mountains of Komorebi, to something familiar and knowing that my mom would happily help me take care of my child. I could even move back in but...

Moving back to Komorebi just doesn't feel right? Would Losi even come and would that be asking too much from him? He must have family here as well right?

I do still worry that Losi might change his mind and disappear but maybe I am not being fair to him harboring this fear. After all, instead of running away he spent his time on the beach entertaining and working for tips. I'm not sure why he barely makes any simoleons because I think he’s very talented, his guitar skills won me over, after all.
