we Know that hockeyblr, and tumblr as a whole, have gifmaking as a Whole Big Part of fandom. and hockey i feel like it’s especially good to keep up with gifmakers because you probably can’t watch every game in the season, but there’s so many stars gifmakers at LEAST one of us gotta be present for the important stuff!

Hi, I'm posting this article because sport is always political. Every single Finnish article I've read about Ovechkin and his goal record has mentioned his connection to Putin and the role he plays in Russian war propaganda, but I have also seen many North American articles that don't mention this at all.

If you haven't read this article from 2023 yet, I highly recommend you do. It goes into detail about how Ovechkin supports Putin and discussion on why he and the NHL get criticized for this. There are surely some newer articles, too, so feel free to add to this if you have any recs.
