I haven't actually played genshin in a while but I've been having the urge to plan out stuff from the old fic ideas I thought up ages ago
One of them was an entire Bloodborne AU I have a whole document with plot beats and dialogue snippets mixed in from when the game first came out lmao. I think it started from me giving Diluc the BP claymore that looks like bones?? Theres a bit in there about like Rosaria being descended from Cainhurst (vileblood girlies stay winning), Albedo befriending the Doll, and the ragbros using the Old Hunters Bell to talk to their dead dad
Another idea was essentially an Isekai where Rosaria gets dropped into Westeros. Everyone is terrified of this scandalously dressed Silent Sister who is deadly with a spear and may or may not be Directly Blessed By The Seven. With the added irony that she's the least devout nun in Mondstadt and is from a world with a different Seven gods. But now that I'm thinking about it there's a different humor of Albedo being there instead. Who's this weird blonde? He knows alchemy? He's so young to be a maester... (Albedo, who's only answer to the age thing in canon was essentially "younger than 500 lol")
Then the way less thorough idea of wacky vigilante hijinks with Diona becoming the Robin to Diluc's batman, with the added running gag of her Not Realizing that's who he is.
Diona: "I can't stand Diluc Ragnvindr."
Darknight hero, who has issues stacked higher than dragonspine is tall: "yeah fuck that guy"
All topped off with several time travel AU plot bunnies with varying premises such as "Xiao gets to relive his trauma and maybe save his old friends in the process! Ignore the new trauma of all your new friends not being alive yet, and maybe never being born due to the butterfly effect." "future!Diluc gets thrown back after The End Of The World™️ just in time to save Crepus from death by snatching the delusion and curbstomping Ursa the Drake. Somehow he gets reintegrated into his family as a mysterious estranged son because Parental Instincts. Added bonus delusion x2 combo!" and "Qiqi time travels. Does not notice. Comedy ensues."

Late Spring, 22CLE
Caitlyn is reading one of the city's newspapers; her partner leans against her desk, arms folded, listening to the tinny triumphant fanfare coming through the radio. Muffled, through the closed window, that same fanfare is echoing through the city.
Caitlyn is currently reading the article that covers last night's big event. Robert Jayce stands colourised amidst the black and white text, arms upraised and smile wide. The Mayor is there, off to one side, smiling at him as she applauds; standing with her are a number of purple robed Summoners from the Institute of War. There's a young and starstruck face under one of those hoods, but the others seem a little older, a little more serene. The headline that accompanies this glorious photographic image is 'Defender of Tomorrow Opens New Industry in Topside Piltover'.
'Defender of Tomorrow'. Caitlyn feels her lips twist sourly.
The fanfare on the radio gives way to a speech from Petunia Stallard, strong despite her years. She speaks of the future and the possibilities and the opportunities this will give the people of Piltover. Vi scoffs loudly, then glances to Caitlyn. Seeing Caitlyn's dour expression seems to alleviate any of the guilt the former-Zaunite might have been harbouring.
"Can you believe this shit?"
Caitlyn closes the newspaper and folds it, resting her head in one hand just as Mayor Stallard introduces the man of the hour. Robert Jayce has a good voice for radio. And, judging by the roar of the crowd coming through the speakers and echoing through the city, a face that everyone loves to go with it.
Caitlyn had sworn she would never abuse her power when she took the badge. And yet, here she is, claiming 'other duties' that kept her from being head of security for the induction of the new Industrial Park. A personal failing, perhaps, rather than outright corruption. She has enough to feel guilty about this year, so hiding in her office feels like a non-issue. She'd cast a shadow on the day, if she was there, but no-one in this city likes having their conscience present, apparently, and she hasn't been forced to make an appearance.
"No," Caitlyn says, quietly, "And yet, yes all the same."
Vi nods, and blows a raspberry at the radio as Robert Jayce begins to speak. Caitlyn's brows furrow as she listens to him thanking the Institute, thanking the colleges and universities, thanking Piltover's Finest - she flinches, Vi blows another raspberry - and everyone here today who helped make this possible. Who helped make 'Jayce Industries' possible.
And now comes the hard part. Robert calls it 'the think tank'.
Caitlyn rests the lower half of her face on her hand, lips shielded by her fingers, and glowers into the middle distance. Quite an innovation, for Piltover. The history of clockmaking required specialisation in different parts; whole families could devote themselves to one particular design of gear, another village would be responsible for counterweights, one cluster would make chains, and so on. Disparate pieces made by artisans scattered across the nation, all working to bring together differing skills to make something that benefits all people. This came from the nation's agrarian and druidic traditions, how Piltover was influenced by concepts of community over individuality. Yet now, this modern new idea brings people together in one place, so that invention and creation can be done in one place, by individuals and for individuals.
But it isn't a new idea, is it? There are 'think tanks' in Zaun, in the industries and factories... and the universities. There was a big court case recently, too, where one student in a think tank had fought to prove his work. He'd been an ugly crier, and the truth hadn't mattered.
The Piltovian think tank, in Jayce Industries, would no doubt be different. As long as inventions were concepted, crafted, and presented in a way positive to the name of the company (and to the company's golden-child figurehead), no doubt everyone on the team would be properly credited. No doubt. Because this isn't Zaun, is it? It's Piltover. Piltover doesn't make the same mistakes as Zaun. Piltover only makes the right decisions. Just listen to the crowds cheer for Robert and for Jayce industries; how could they be wrong?
But Caitlyn can never voice these mutinous thoughts out loud, can she? Because she's a Champion now, an individual on a pedestal, held high by the IOW and Piltover's burgeoning new cult of personality. And what's more, hasn't she also stolen from Viktor? The blueprints given by Baelwin are a poison, a weight on her soul. She should have just asked. Viktor was her friend. Viktor would have helped her, helped her father. Instead, she acted just like a Piltovian, and took what she wanted from Zaun with one hand and good intentions held high in the other.
Robert's voice on the radio is drowned out by cheers. Caitlyn stands up, and pulls her hat on. Hextech sparks between her temples, and the hat's lenses flick and flutter before settling back against the satin.
"Where're we headed, cupcake?" Vi asks, flicking the radio off and standing at attention.
Caitlyn doesn't even have the energy to contest the abominable nickname. "Grimdark," she says. "I need a drink."

Worldbuilding Nelvauris: Gods and Creation
Gods Gods in the universe Nelvauris resides in are complicated. This is because Gods were the very first entities created in Nelvauris (cosmologically speaking, not creatively or conceptually), and they created the universe Nelvauris resides in. But, those same Gods are also subject to the belief of the people(s) they created. A kind of consensus reality. Gods began as, for lack of a better…

Am I allowed to ask about your Legend losing magic brainrot or do I need to just wait for more ACAC to come out?
No, I'm always happy to talk about this one!
I've actually had this headcannon for a while now, but it hasn't managed to come up in a story much (mainly because I've yet to post that BoHH chapter) but here's a brief rundown!
Legend had really strong magic as a child (it's implied heavily in the manga)
His adventures helped him temper it and learn to use it in various ways.
The manga imply that this magic is at least partially a gift of the triforce, although I believe all hylians have at least some magic, even if only latent. His royal blood would also contribute in my HC
Legend's magic was at it's peak in his Oracle adventures, where he had literal goddesses at his side most of the time and was frequently called upon to use their instruments as well as some of his own
Legend lost his magic on the way home from Labrynna when he was caught in a magical storm and struck by lightning.
Here's how it works!
A hylian, and any other magic user, has what one would call a 'magical core'. it's not something physical, but it functions as a heart of sorts where magic is involved, and despite not being present in the physical sense, can be felt and voluntarily controlled to certain extents by skilled magic users. All of their magic flows through this core much like our blood cycles through us from our heart, and, much like a heart, it can weaken or grow stronger depending on the health of the mage, the frequency of use, and what level of magic is employed.
Legend's magical core is incredibly strong, but when he was struck by lightning and woke up on Koholint, that changed.
See, in my HC, the Windfish fully intended to bring him there. What he didn't intend to do was essentially disconnect body and soul in order to do so. As far as this HC is concerned, Legend may or may not have technically been dead for the entirety of that adventure, as his 'physical' form on Koholint was created by the Windfish the same as anything else there in order to house his soul while he wandered the island, hence why it all felt so real for him.
Meanwhile, one of two things had to be happening for the Windfish. Either he was (a) trying to repair damage done to the borrowed goddess-child/servant's body, or (b) he had to essentially make a whole new physical shell for Legend's soul when he returned to the waking world because the lightning blast incinerated the original one.
Either take works with this HC, and I use them interchangeably where it suits me >:)
Whichever you use though, one thing stays true regardless; when returning Legend's soul to his body, the Windfish's magic was still incredibly weak from what he'd been through (what with the corruption and dark magic he'd been fighting) so he did a sort of slap-dash job of it (not intentionally).
This results in a sort of disconnect between Legend's actual soul as his physical form, which includes the fact that his soul and magical systems are not connected to each other as they ought to be.
I don't know how many of you have dabbled in electronics, but it's something like if you were able to build a functioning robot, but someone pulled out all the wires and you had to hurriedly reconnect them all again, only to miss one that, while not essential to basic functions, does affect one particular lesser function. The Windfish forgot that proverbial 'wire' when reattaching soul and body.
Legend is not aware of this. Legend is only aware that he had magic before Koholint, and then he didn't when he came back.
However, when he came back, I imagine he had a lot going on initially, and it's all of that which he believes caused him to lose his magic, not the dream itself. See, Legend's return to the waking world had him stranded out at sea with only a bit of driftwood and, while he had his adventurers bag, it likely didn't have any food in it. So, while, being Legend, he probably had a canteen of fresh water at hand, that would only last him so long. Which means, between sun exposure, lack of food and fresh water, and trying to find his way home, by either paddling himself around or using his mer form, he probably had some issues.
Now, I like to say he used the mer form, as it offers him the best advantages, such as not needing to actually use his fresh water supply, as Mer can absorb water from their environment and are able to withstand both salt and fresh water, as well as they have faster propulsion and he wouldn't be directly exposed to the sun.
Maybe he even ran into other mer! Who knows! Since this is my HC though, I like to say he did, but because he tried to sort of travel with them for a while, it did catch attention from above, and in perhaps the worst turn of events possible, the mer school was attacked by pirates and one little hero just so happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time (again) resulting in our lovely vet taking a spear through the tail.
I say the other mer got scared off by the attack and our boy was sort of just stuck in survivor mode for a good while before, eventually, being picked up by Ralph, because I want it :)
Anyways, upon return to Hyrule, he's screwed over from lightning and injuries, and since swimming with a spear through your tail (and the resulting infection) isn't much of an option, yes, that dehydration and sun exposure did come into play regardless. So, in short, Legend was screwed over from the time he made it Hyrule to the start of his next adventure. I say that he had to relearn to walk in that time, and struggled with speaking, although that was likely a result of heavy depression and trauma and less a physical issue.
I don't think Legend really tried using his magic until the following adventure, which, while not canonically his, I like to say is Cadence, but it could be ALBW instead. When he can't access his magic as he used to, he assumes that, like his speech and mobility, it was just something he lost or damaged in his returning home (the mer thing is a curse and thus outside of his control, if you were wondering).
I think he took it pretty hard, naturally. But, being himself, he adapted around it by acquiring magical items of varied sorts that he could use to sort of replicate his old abilities and/or give himself access to new magic.
Now, a magical item is something that is powered by the users magic specifically, sort of latching onto the 'veins' of their magic automatically, so this is actually a great workaround for Legend! While he can't actually find/access his 'core' for himself, a magical item can, and it taps into his magic for him, thus allowing him to employ at least some of his magic.
Now, you can get angsty with this and say that, like with a heart, because Legend himself is not regularly accessing and employing is magic, it sort of causes a build up that could and might be slowly killing him, but that's only if you want the super angsty route >:)
Regardless, what Legend has is, as Wild put it, a magical disability; essentially the equivalent of being crippled (which Legend has already been, technically, although he's recovering still from that too). As far as mortals are concerned, there's no fix for it. His soul would literally have to be removed from his body, again, and then properly re-placed within, which, while possible, he would never go for, because he's an un-trusting little bunny.
This WILL come up in other stories (it'll play a major role in BoHH), but in none of them have I chosen (so far) to restore Legend's magic to the way it's supposed to be. As is, he's sort of jury-rigged himself a solution in the form of what are, in essence, the magical equivalent of adaptive technologies/mobility aides.
The one way this does benefit him, however, is that his magic is shrouded and also much less blaringly obvious to the magically sensitive/adept, which makes hiding his heritage/presence much easier, even if it does make everything esle much harder.
And that's it!
(If you're curious about fics where I've played with this idea before, then the Sicktember 2023 installments Legacies Burden, Deeper Than The Surface, and Footsteps Across History all briefly touch on the magical adaptive technology usage, and To Seek Hyrule's Star plays a little bit with the post-Koholint Legend, although less than I had originally planned when writing it.)

For my own reasons I've done some of this research before, so I can confidently say that the exodus was within a year or so of the twins' birth; it's unlikely they have any memories of it at all.
I had done the math on Thancred's age already as well, but I never actually correlated it to the exodus, and it makes things really interesting. He would have been 17 when he first went to Ul'dah, and although his short story doesn't make his age at the time clear, he seems to be somewhere in the vicinity of 12-15 when he meets Louisoix (if, in fact, he actually knows exactly how old he is at all, which frankly I find doubtful. Louisoix probably assigned him a best guess for paperwork reasons when bringing him into the country). He probably only actually spent a few years in Sharlayan getting his training, and if the numbers we have are correct, if he's 32 when the twins are 16 as per the Encyclopedia Eorzea, he would likely have been almost done with that training when the exodus happened.
Urianger became fascinated with prophecies very young, and he was involved when Louisoix began the Circle of Knowing ten years before the Calamity, right around the same time Thancred was sent to Ul'dah. At that point he would have been about 14, so they definitely met sometime before that, though it is not by any means clear when.
i need to iron out the timeline + details of the sharlayan exodus from dravania because most of the information about it is in the hvw patches which are less immediate in most people's minds (including mine). some thoughts and questions from my brain, many of which could probably be answering via googling/the wiki:
iirc the twins were born there, but the exodus happened when they were very young. do they remember the colony at all? are their earliest memories the big move?
yshtola spent most of her youth with matoya in her cave (seemingly as a primary caregiver), and then left with the exodus when she was a teenager. who made that decision? herself, her family (how traditional is the y tribe?), matoya? is her family from eorzea or sharlayan? how much did she lose when she moved to old sharlayan? is this move when she became louisoix's student instead of matoya's?
did louisoix yoink thancred from limsa before or after the exodus? how soon before or after? i have to assume fourchenault was strongly in favor of retreating from eorzea, and loiusoix was probably against - what did fourchenault think of the timing of thancred?
were thancred and yshtola struggling to settle into the foreign motherland at the same time?
where did moenbryda & urianger grow up? when did they become louisoix's students? they both studied at the studium, unlike yshtola & thancred. it's easier to guess when they met thancred, but when how long have they known yshtola?
did yda & lyse spend any time in the colony, or did they go directly to the mainland? i don't remember a lot of the details of this tbh. when did the other scions meet yda's little sister?
we know papalymo is from a sharlayan family (his dad is mentioned in the recent short story as a friend of louisoix's) - how did he meet the hexts? through louisoix? at what age for both of them did papalymo become louisoix's pupil?
krile states that she and minfilia are friends (when she's grilling thancred on the nature of their relationship). when did minfilia visit sharlayan? or did krile visit ul'dah? galuf baldesion and his students seem focused on international travel - how much has krile traveled throughout her life? she's a handful of years older than the twins - what age was she when she was adopted?
every day of my life i make up backstory headcanons based on my swiss cheese memory of earlier scions lore.

in Vega, a librarian undergoes two years of intensive training to be able to safely handle and dissect literature. Ayana insisted on participating in the full apprenticeship, even though as princess she was entitled to the accreditation by default.
She does not make waste of the title, and in fact has garnered a reputation for being quite skilled at extracting the deepest material of published books.

need more nando and marci in my life cant stop thinking abt them
here are some loose ideas as i piece things together one by one 🫡
tldr; marc is pathetic and obsessed with the guy who could be his father
i dont really wanna specify what he is before he gets his f1 seat (not a reserve driver per se but maybe. some type of a junior. developement driver idk nawt important to me) but thats not even the point here cause no matter what he is prior to being teammates he rarely ever approached nando even when he had the chance... bro was scared he would cum and pass out on the spot if they as much as shook hands lol
anyway i think theyd first meet sometime in 2014... alonso sucked dry ferrari era... hungaroring would make most sense, marcis dad takes him bts to meet people and the little guy has his scrapbook full of newspaper clippings and printed photos and stuff to get autographs (no one needs to know that the fa14 section is multiply pages longer than some others) and i should draw the photo theyd take together fr... haunting
anyway! first day on the job marc is shaking shivering whimpering like youre not only gonna be doing your first formula one grand prix but youre doing it next to one of your childhood idols youre JOKING. hes in the garage next to me isnt he
longest most overwhelming weekend of his fucking life! i think he would get announced last minute (i also think he would be the last one to get the news lmao) so the moment hes anywhere near track he gets swarmed by people he gets absolutely jumped. sits furthest from fernando during briefings subconsciously (would be so numb to eveything he doesnt even register that hes around the guy he likes. worships even) with berta glued to his hip (or hes glued to berta. whos to say they dont really know each other at that point of time). hes fidgety and nervous and itchy and red from ear to ear and kind of just sour vibes overall coming in waves off of him (let the man livvveeee he just got here. he can be nervy) which could be the reason when the first time they speak and go over stuff nando makes a face at him (—> day ruined hes contemplating killing himself. manages a decent race instead) (lance finished p14 in spain i think marc could do that too)
after that the two of them would do some small talk here and there and marci is like a shadow following nando around (he doesnt fucking know what to do or how to act. its pathetic) but that initial "first impression" is like so engraved into his brain hes being weird about everything. like nando chivalrously brings him some espresso at hospitality and asks general questions about his past achievements etc etc and marci is there clutching the small cup in both hands minutely trembling because their fingers touched and also hes too afraid to let nando know he doesnt like coffee so hes taking the smallest sips possible between mumbling out details about his eurocup series endeavours that he knows nando probably doesnt give a shit about
linking these fuckers to the hungaroring like why am i about to bring it up for the like billionth time. anyway its a month into his debut and as one would be hes extra twitchy about his home race (and his father would be there. visiting him in the garage) and i want nando to come up to him as marci leaving his drivers room and nando puts a big hand on his shoulder and he looks marci in the eyes and squeezes his neck and says something about not overthinking it or whatever and like stop with the jittering because its ANNOYING 🩷 and then he laughs and pats marci on the cheeks and leaves and marci is like woagh. im so horny and distraught right now i might crash my fucking car and then my dad will kill me but woah. the interaction would help him loosen up a bit tho so theres that. peace and love
im lowkey too scared to get too into scenarios just yet lol so theyre just hanging out in my head... sometimes sexual style. on that front i think marci would need outside assistance (pálinka)... like getting a little frisky during some type of celebratory afterparty or something
if anyone wanna put him in scenarios lemme know lmao my ears are open i dont hold marc on too tight of a leash. haha get it cause dog. haha ANYWAY ive said so little with so much oh my god. kills myselg

In the spirit of everyone sharing their Silm OCs, I thought I'd share mine as well!
Lírëndil grew up in Tirion wanting to be a loremaster, learning and capturing the stories of her people, and was fascinated by the Great Journey. Horrified by the Darkening and King Finwë's death, she immediately answered Fëanor's summons and organized under Maedhros's banner. Though she did not actually kinslay (instead trying to ease the dying's passage into Mandos in the First Kinslaying) or participate in the burning of the boats out of disgust, she found a kindred spirit in Maedhros through their shared love of storytelling and politics and aided in his recovery process after Angband.
These days she is mainly a healer at Himring, always happy to tell stories to those who ask and quick with a song and a smile.

Magic in NRD is a bit of a loosely defined thing.. I do have some rules and reasons for it, but its not something I spend too much time worrying about as its mostly there to serve the themes and events in the story. However, I thought it might be fun to share that characters do manifest their magic in certain natural affinities, kind of like pokemon types! Of course, sometimes people have multiple ways their magic manifests, but usually for characters I assign one major type. Usually this also kind of helps with associating the kinds of imagery with the character as well. I haven’t been able to decide the affinity for each NRD character, but here are some anyway.
