The Start of the Common Era, 0 CE

"When the nations of Pokenoa reached the seafaring stage, a stretch of uninhabited islands near the equator became the staging ground for a trading network called the "Median Line." The creation of the Median Line brought about multiple exchanges of culture, language, politics, and economy. With the need to communicate to one another, a new language was discovered that could be learned by all and spoken by all. Thus, a new era was born.

Known as the "language of trade," Common was discovered during initial island settlers who came across an ancient stone structure with intricate carvings. Many first hand accounts have said that the wind, ocean, and land whisper these words when one stands next to this structure.

Today, in addition to their native language, Common is the universal language that is taught in all regions across the globe. With the help of modern science, pokemon can learn to speak, read, and write this language via a Technical Machine (TM00), a feat that used to be extremely difficult.

Despite numerous archeological teams researching the area over the course of history, there are no records of who or what brought about these stone carvings. Some say that this is the work of Arceus, some say that this is the will of the universe, some say that this was created by an undiscovered ancient species, and some even say that this is the work of extraterrestrial beings.

As time goes on, it seems that the only consensus is that the origin of the Common Language Stones is a mystery that the world will never solve."

Dragon Habits and traits

Dragon type Pokémon have peculiar habits that often are specific to them.

Dragons are part of a class of Pokémon that are considered 'long lived' by mortal standpoint. This is joined by the Steel, Rock, Ground and Fairy types. Dragon types live for up to 4,500 years in total.

Dragon type Pokémon can be finicky, very slow to build trust, and can have a degree of arrogance when younger. This often mellows out with time, as a dragon gets older and more mature. A dragon type Pokémon will become an adult after approximately 10 human years for a single stage dragon, and longer for multi stage dragons. If a Pokémon evolves into a dragon type, they will have shorter lifespans depending on the element they evolved from, and traits mixed in.

Legendary Dragon type Pokémon can live up to 10,000 years, and God Dragon type Pokémon are immortal and extremely difficult to kill.

As mature adults, Dragon type Pokémon express affection through physical touch, telepathy and most importantly - giving gifts. It is said that dragons typically treasure anything given by another dragon, and usually ends up in their hoards. If gemstones are given, they are considered priceless.

If a Dragon chooses a mate, they will bite their neck enough to bruise at first, as a form of possession. The age of a dragon will depend on how possessive they are of their mate - the older they are, the stronger these instincts run. Every now and then, mated dragons will repeat this bite if they feel the desire to, usually when feeling amorous.

If a Dragon chooses a life mate (aka Marriage), the bite done will be far deeper, in order to leave a scar and a permanent mark on one another's body. This is usually an extremely powerful act and done with extreme care. Most dragons are together for hundreds of years before this is done.

Dragons tend to be extremely territorial of their mates and families, more so than most other Pokémon types. This varies between individuals. Pregnant dragons are extremely vicious to any threats, and remain as much until their children are old enough to hunt.

Far into the future, there'll come a point where Wo outlives his family. They're still mortals(despite two of them having the ability to live longer due to their 'legendary' status). Spot and Pink would be first, then Ogerpon, followed by Oki. Oki would most likely perish after he couldn't handle having the poison lingering from the chains in his system any longer.

All of those events would hit Wo quite hard, with Oki's being the one that would make him go quiet and stay that way. Wo would still be able to make sounds in response to things like questions and other things that get said to him, but he won't be able to bring himself to talk. Instead, when he needs to communicate, Wo would use a version of sign language that would be like ASL, but easier for him to show with his vines.

It'd be a world where little is left of humanity too. The places which Wo(and Pao) would travel through would be turning into towns that resemble those seen in Mystery Dungeon, only in a more post-apocalyptic, Life After People and Mad Max-like setting. Pokemon residing there would not accept them at first, but they'd learn to do so over time as they learn more about the wandering Ruins.

Eventually, Wo and Pao would be accepted into an explorers guild and go on missions into unknown places in search of treasure and hidden places. Wo would still be very quiet, and quite serious too. When on missions, Wo would be behind Pao as they explore, but he would stick to what the objective is and refuse to deviate from it. Pao would get distracted, but then he'd see Wo's annoyed expression and quickly get back on track.

When not on missions, Wo and Pao would curl up around each other as they rest. The leopard would tell Wo stories that he would make up on the spot, an action that would help to calm the snail and ensure that he slept without trouble. Wo would appreciate how Pao had learned how to tell stories in that way too, and would do the same for him using his own version of sign language to tell them to him.

Over time, as they continue to spend time together in a future where they roam endlessly, Wo and Pao would get to become quite close too. Wo wouldn't make the relationship turn into the one he would've had with Oki, but it'd get close to being like it.

Friday Munday question

how old do you headcanon the zero crew (Florian/Juliana, Arven, Nemona and Penny) to be? Since I saw your post about Team Star’s ages and it got me wondering about Penny’s other friends

[That's a tricky question. XD I definitely have rough ages in mind for them, but I've mostly thought about Team Star as it's... what this blog/comic is about, haha! I'll try and remember my thoughts!

As I've said before... Florian and Juliana... they are the characters who are the "main" player characters, the ones with the 'raidons who went to Area Zero etc. So they exist, but they're usually off doing their thing and don't have much to do with Giacomo as such at the moment... it's why I mostly haven't addressed them as I wasn't entirely sure if they existed here or not. XD But I guess they would. One of them at very least.

On ages, I'd set them the same as the rest of the Champion kids, 11 years old. That's the base expected age for a base Pokémon game (that isn't Black 2/White 2 or Legends Arceus, or a spin off like Colosseum).

They're probably the peak of bizarre Champion kid vibes because they're so OP. XD

Next, Nemona. She's fairly easy to place for me, I read her as 16 or 17 or so. She's got no baggage as such, she's not connected to Team Star OR the Professors, she's just doing her school education. She's in her final year to be Student Council President... and she's also been there and done that on the whole "becoming Champion" thing... there's no evidence she's been held back years or anything and whilst she doesn't look old, she doesn't look young either... so it feels pretty straightforward, I feel.

For Penny, I think she's older than she looks, even though she is your "underclassman" and "in your year". We know she was sent back to Galar for at least 1.5 years after what happened with Team Star and she's basically had to start again, so she's definitely older than the player character (as is the case, I feel, with ALL of Team Star). Before that, as I said with my explanation for Giacomo's age, there has to have been a bunch of years that passed for the whole bullying and Team Star thing to come to pass... she might not have been at the school as long as Giacomo, but she was definitely there long enough to decide that bullying was a problem she wanted to approach...

I figure, especially since she's a foreign student, she actually came to the Academy as a university or maybe college (6th form, end of high school(?)) level student for further studies in the STEM track. She was likely 16 to 18 when she first attended, but that was years ago at this point. I don't think she's as old as Giacomo, though... I feel he's the oldest of the bunch of Team Star. Surely she was attending when Giacomo was being Student Council President and knows all about that (as do the rest of Team Star's bosses), which was about 3 years prior to this blog/comic (by this comic's lore).

(On a side note, I don't think it was explicitly Nemona that replaced Giacomo as Student Council President... since that would mean she's been president for over 2 years XD They say "some other nerd" or something in the flashback cutscene, that could literally be anybody.)

Going from that, it would make Penny from around 19 to 22 on this blog at least! This might change though, I'll be going through Penny's content in more depth before she turns up for the movie night so... XD; We'll see!

And finally, Arven. This one's a tough one! He's another with history and baggage who hasn't been turning up to his classes and probably got held back multiple years through in-attendance. I think he is also older than you first might assume! He doesn't really have much to do with Team Star, so I haven't thought about him much, but my thoughts are this;

As I said, he's had a tough time with the academy and life in general what with stuff regarding his parents and everything... we know he's been skiving lessons, but I can't remember if they mention how long for... I'm pretty sure somebody like Clavell drops times or something he's known the Professors (but I could be misremembering)... I even went through and tried to rewatch a bunch of Arven cutscenes to better answer this, but I can't find anything like it since I think a lot of fine details like that are in dialogue when you talk to characters, not cutscenes themselves... particularly with people like Clavell ABOUT Arven, not including him... =( If anybody has any screenshots of that sort about how long Clavell's known the professors or any indication how long it's been Arven's been without his parents etc. it would really help! I foolishly didn't take screenshots thinking I wouldn't need them...

In any case, I can't imagine him living on his own before his teen years and doing very well... or it being legal XD; I'm pretty sure I saw a good analysis somewhere that said something about him being 11 or 12 at some point in the story and it's been about 10 years since then? But I can't remember the specifics... I feel like that would be reasonable thinking though, him being around 20/21, especially with him trying to find a cure for Mabosstiff. I wish I had that analysis to hand.

It's awkward, I can't find any time scales in the cutscenes I rewatched as to just how much time has passed since each of these events happened... how long's he been looking for a cure for Mabosstiff? When did he go to Area Zero and get Mabosstiff hurt? Any of that info as a date would help!

Going by his build (wide, has the flat chin like Giacomo), his experiences (skipping school, family life etc.) and his striking facial hair (sideburns, very impressive, Arven), I would also put him at around 21 years old, personally... but unless I can find any kind of indication WHEN these events happened? I can't be sure, which is frustrating! =(

This took all day to compile and I'm a bit iffy about posting it because of the same reasons I mentioned in the previous post about Giacomo... XD; Eh... it's just speculation that applies specifically to this blog. Again, it doesn't invalidate any thoughts you may personally have.

Very, very selective with;

‘Unrequited crush’ threads need to be talked about first, and boundaries set. Usually only with muns I know well.

‘Fight’ threads where it’s Thera against someone else’s muse. Her vs random NPCs is fine.

Child muses (under 13). NPCs are OK, but not children who are the main muse. Any threads with older teens will be strictly platonic.

Shipping / Smutting. No instant smut. Smut may happen in the context of a ship, but it's not the sole intent of this blog.

Shipping needs to be talked about first. Thera is multiship, male-attracted, and we enjoy shipping. But it’s still not going to be an automatic-everybody thing. There’s got to be some sort of IC build up and OOC talk as well, to see how the muses get along and that we're on the same page. If we haven't talked about it OOC, it's not happening.

No means no. On both sides. If I say no to something I expect you to listen. Conversely, if you say no I’m going to take that as final, so if you change your mind later you need to tell me.

Also please do not say yes when you mean no. Just rip off the bandaid, OK?

Interaction Please communicate, please reciprocate. This is a hobby, but it’s a hobby we should both enjoy and it’s not enjoyable when something’s all one-sided. Busy happens, favourites happen, but if I’m doing all the sending and messaging and you don’t do any, especially if you’re active with others, then no hard feelings but I’m going to move along.

Reblogging Memes Please don’t reblog memes or starter lists from me without sending me one. You don't have to send me something, but if you don’t please reblog them from the source instead.

Post length I’m good with any, as long as we’re on the same page. But if I’m doing paras and getting one line back, it makes me wonder if you really want to be doing it at all. If you’re stuck, I’m totally open to waiting, plotting or re-writing.

God-Modding. I write my muse, you write yours, and if in doubt, ask. Please don’t decide for me what she does, thinks or feels (or did before the events of the thread), that your muse has done something major to her, or put her in a certain situation, without running it past me first. Also, ignoring what I’ve just written and continuing as if Thera never said or did something counts as god-modding, too.

Verses are separate unless it's been discussed OOC beforehand. Please don't shoehorn Thera into your own existing group verse without talking about it with me first.

Meta-gaming is giving your muse OOC knowledge IC. There are muses out there powerful enough that they could know things, but please talk to me about it first. Your muse suddenly knowing all about Thera for no IC reason and without asking me is not going to work out.

On those last two points, I also reserve the right to say no.

Vague/Guilt-Posting Trying to pressure or guilt me into RPing with you is going to have the opposite effect to what you want. Asking if I saw a post or reminding me once or twice is fine, talking to me directly about a problem, likewise. Messages specifically intended to make me feel bad for not replying/RPing with you are not.

hell yeah! honestly, i love canon divergent muses. i love seeing what people do to do different characters in different views. that's what i've done with multiple muses of mine. Scott Howard is one example (ive had to change up A LOT of his lore), and my Hazbin/Helluva muses & South Park muses are also slightly canon divergent. i love new stuff!

as for when i block someone? it depends. i'm a very lax person, i personally don't block over what you post. my only exception is if its just ... only porn? and nsfw? i get hella weirded out by that. and it depends on who i'm blocking - strangers, i'll block if something bugs me. if breaking mutual contact, it's if something has been done to me or to somebody else that i'm familiar with that i'm uncomfy with, and it takes a lot for that to happen. i just don't do it on a one time basis unless the other does it first.

i've had to do it before, and i really only block immediately if my boundaries have been crossed to a point where i'm not comfortable talking to you. if i fear what someone has to say to me or i get a sense of dread seeing them show up, that's when i know there's issues.

and i don't take blocking personally. i don't care for it. i have so many other things to worry about, so i only see blocking as like .. a necessity. it's just setting boundaries and clearing what you don't wanna see. i know people don't like me and that's fair, i'll never police people on shit like that. you can't like everybody or befriend everyone.

thinking of putting storm eye on a different blog and turning this into interabsol as my modblog. What’s a tip you would give to people trying to get to know you? -Honestly? I a lot more laid back than I might seem to be via my writing or my posting. I'm quite literally open to just vibing at any time and you'll never be bothering me.

Do you dive into conversation easily? -No. Not at all. It's not anyone's fault but my own, because admittedly, if it's something I know a lot about, I can talk about it forever, case in point, the regular lore dumps I've given on games and series I'm interested in. But uh, most of the time, I have a hard time talking to people because if I can be honest? I'm just kinda boring. Or at least I feel like I'm boring.

How would you rate your conversation skills? -Uh, on a scale of one to ten? probably a 5 normally, and 8 if we come up with a real tasty plot.

What’s something you do to try to get to know other’s? -Honestly? I try to ask them about their day or their OCs. I try to keep things strictly to RP for the most part until we've gotten comfy and then if we vibe, I'll ask them about their favorite stuff.

---Everyday of my life I fistfight the two wolves in my brain begging me to rp Yoriichi - aka my Beloved Boy, I just told Mars and Han about his entire lore because I always have brainrot about him and I want him to be happy----

ANYWAYS BUT!!! SO....BACK TO ACTUAL LEAGUE, AHAH. I actually have thought about making @consign-to-oblivion a MALZAHAR blog too because I love my weirdo cult man and if Riot won't do him justice than by the power vested in me I will do it my damn self- But...I probably won't because as I said in my other posts...I cannnot handle more than one blog at a time. I have that ADD Dyslexia Swag™ and will not be able to juggle Robin and Malz (this is when y'all are supposed to tell me to delete Robibi and open Malz LOL). So! Its a big maybe for now.

38. What’s the best inspiration for your muse?

---Okay this is going to be the weirdest connection of the night and I deadass feel like this:

But something I noticed that actually really inspires me to write is like...listening to music from old Disney music, he's got that Timeless™ energy. You cannot tell me that Robin does not, somehow, remind you of Sleeping Beauty (1959), because he does and anything else is just slander and wrong. Anyways, that or listening to witty dialogue in games/movies. Robin is a lot smarter than me and I genuinely need to prep my brain to try and think at an IQ much higher than my own. God sorry the energy drink has kicked in and my brain is a bouncy house so this is going in a lot of different directions.
