Today was my first day ever drawing Métis and Reah and I’m not super Duper pleased with the results, but this is how it always feels when I do something for the first time. I’m excited to work on these two sketches. I know they’re gonna look amazing once I’ve gone through a few drafts of them.

Some notes
Overall I wanted to put our leading ladies into mortal realm wear because why… would they be wearing modern clothes… thousands of years before they’re in fashion in the mortal realm
Métis I wanted to keep in blue since they’re opposite on the color wheel. I just made it a darker blue and since one of her symbols is an owl, I added the circles to be the eyes.
Truly they more look like the evil eye but oh well, it still looks cool
Rhea hurt me. She and Persephone are so damn similar in color and style I wanted to do a hard left. Gave her the iconic circle crown back, made her thicker, and made her hair more closely resemble a lion’s mane
I also did more of a dark teal as opposed to the more true mint I put Persephone in. Both still have pink but persephone’s is definitely baby pink vs Rhea who leans more towards white/gray
I think Rhea’s outfit is the least “ancient Greek” which does make me cringe a bit internally but I tried to mimic how the fabric would fold and crease… Greek citizens please have mercy 🙇🏼‍♀️
Oh also Rhea has what are supposed to be moss agate on the hem of her dress. Moss agate is *supposedly* what her representative gemstone is but Google is Google so grains of salt
Hera looks great in green. I really leaned into the peacock motif and gave her that spiky crown thing she normally wears (even though it’s not accurate)
It was so damn hard to hide all those ribbons
I think my edit of Hera is a little gaudy… but when in Rome I suppose
Hope you enjoy and see you next week for the finale of Lore Olympus

Hate to break it to you, but people like you make it hard for other people to feel confident about creating stories; in fear that they’ll be wrongly bashed by close minded people like you. AND you’re a minor??😐 What are you doing criticizing a young adult comic? Get real.
Okay, first of all, plenty of teens younger than me have read lore Olympus.id dare say a good bit of the fan base are around my age.
Second of all, this comic has caused real world harm to figures like leuke and Apollo.(Leuke having her search result right off the bat show her in lore Olympus and Apollo has had real world followers of him harassed)
Third of all, critique exists to give guidelines for stories.if people can’t learn how to critique their stories and rewrite them to be better, then how will we have good stories?having an example of what not to do helps with learning what to do.
Also, telling people that bashing on something is making people scared is(no offense) not going to do anything.
No media is above critique.and sure, you’ll have people who hate to for the sake of hating you,but you need to learn how to separate those people from people giving genuine critique.
And when a good bit of the “haters” are former fans who fell off the narrative then maybe they have some good critique’s?
I’ll be honest with you,I was never a fan of lore Olympus but I can why others are.
It’s a very “turn off your brain and don’t think about the implications” comic and if you’re enjoying it good for you!
But me and other people can’t enjoy it.and the fact that you do doesn’t mean that it isn’t harmful to young girls and people who don’t know better.
Persephone was 19 at the start of the comic and is constantly infantalized(no not just by being short we love a short queen) and Zeus was quite literally groomed by Métis(he,at most, was eighteen)
Neither of these are acknowledged in narrative as being bad.and the fact that young girls have access to this means that they will think this kind of stuff is alright.

This is a long post.. Spoilers for chapter 230 and tw sa
Okay so I have no one to talk to about this so I’m just gonna go on a bit of a rant here.. like I admit that my guilty pleasure is reading Lore Olympus and I discovered it a few years ago and been reading it every update since. However I do acknowledge it is a super bad retelling of Greek mythology and has a lot of flaws but I can’t stop reading the dumpster fire of the story that it is. So I just wanna talk about a few icks I have that I haven’t seen much of.
The age gap between Hades and Persephone, him being over 2000 and her only being 19 when they meet. I just don’t understand why that was important and I’ve see ppl say like of when she jumped the story 10 years ahead she is 30 so it’s not as bad. Like she aged those 10 years so obviously everyone else did too?? It’s still the same age gap they’re just older ??

Why make Apollo the worse character ever. I really hate when SA is like the main plot of a story and I hate that Apollo did that and it’s implied he’s done it before. It kinda ruined my perspective of other portrays of Apollo in other retellings and stories. It woulda been okay ish if he was just a big headed dick
Tumblr media
Including Demeter! This recent chapter 230 it felt like suddenly she doesn’t care about her own daughter at all, like I’ve seen retellings that make Demeter the bad guy but this whole time it was giving potential that Demeter was starting to understand until she finds out that Persephone is now Queen and then goes ahead and publicly shame her instead of being idk helping her daughter and trying to understand her??? Like I’m so confused.
I’ve seen a lot of ppl point out how inconsistency Persephone’s design is and I didn’t notice until Daphne was introduced and I confused her and Persephone but then Daphne’s pallet kinda changed so it was easier to see the difference but then I started noticing that Persephone looks different every chapter and sometimes Hades design looked different too so I was like okay it’s more than one artist drawing these characters trying to copy the design like in Sonic X. However the episode where it shows the flash back of Rhea finding Zeus and “dying” /going into hibernation. SHE LOOKED IDENTICAL TO PERSEPHONE ONLY A DARKER SHADE?? Like I was so confused cuz I honestly thought it was Persephone at first too? I wonder if it’s suppose to be implied that hades could be in love with Persephone BECAUSE she is literally the spinning image of his mother Rhea????? I sure hope not. But but if Hera slept with Zeus’ dad Kronos and Zeus slept with Hera’s creator Métis so anything is possible I guess.

I wouldn’t call this an ick, it’s more of an annoyance, I was looking forward to seeing how R*chel would portray Persephone and Hades being intimate like how we saw with Eros and Psyche. And unfortunately we got similar panels when Apollo SA’d Persephone which was awful. I hate. Anyway we had this huge build up to it potentially and then didn’t happen due to Ares interrupting. Which was confusing cuz now I’m not sure if they did bang or not??? Like it wasn’t talked about but it’s not clear? I’m still holding out but it feels like there is no point.

This whole comic is a mess and it was clearly not meant to be this long but ended up that way and it really does have a lot of flaws and a super toxic fandom and I guess the author/illustrator can’t take criticism. But I just wanted to share major things that bother me in the story. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Latest Lore Olympus Post…
So I actually am really liking the new chapters again. I feel like there’s actually plot going on again. I loved the Hera content lately and am really liking the direction this is going with Métis having created her and her sisters to win the war against Kronos. It makes all her motivations and relationship with Zeus make a lot more sense now. I’m also liking seeing Hades reflect again. I’m hating Apollo though and Kronos who else wants them to finally die? Also small hebe with hera was just too cute

Lore Olympus theory about the trial!
At the trial, Persephone will explain her side of the story, to which Zeus will demand out of Persephone to admit that she is a fertility goddess, to which Demeter will be forced to tell the truth and why she hide it from her daughter, which will cause Persephone to become enraged that her own mother lied to her about something this serious while constantly punishing and stopping her from exploring her powers that could have prevented that fateful day.
And when Apollo tries to tell everyone that they slept together, with Leto present, Persephone would be more furious and this will prompt her to tell everyone that he did rape her. Everyone will be shocked and Apollo will deny this, but Eros would say it’s true and when Apollo tries to work his way out of it, Artemis might shoot him with the arrow of hate to finally see what’s going on and everyone will be horrified at what they saw, including Zeus, but ares having enough of his fathers idiocy would take another arrow of hate to see what he’s hiding.
And that’s when everyone, including Hera, finds out that Apollo and Artemis are his children and that semelee is currently pregnant, and that he showed favouritism to Apollo to keep Leto quiet and he made this trial to keep his power as he plans to consume Persephone like he did Métis.
Not only will ares and haphestus be furious, Hera would lose it as she gave up her mother and freedom to a man who cheated on her, and now that she’s found out he’s had kids with other women, including her former best friend and why he protected Apollo, she would end things with Zeus right then and there.
And Persephone, enraged that Zeus and Apollo want her powers and her mother lying to her, she would take the pomegranate and declare in front of everyone on Olympus that she is in charge of her own destiny and that no one owns her. Next thing everyone knew, she ate it and Erebus brings her back to the underworld, where everything starts to grow and flourish with natural light for the first time, while Olympus and the mortal realm start getting colder and the crops are dying.
Persephones sacrifice is when she goes to the underworld, that world gets the flourish with her powers while Olympus and the mortal realm become cold and lifeless when she’s not there.
Zeus will be hated by everyone for warranting an arrest for Persephone just to stay in control by eating her, Apollo would be ostracized for what he did to Persephone and for both pushing Persephone to where she had no choice but to eat the pomegranate and causing an eternal winter.
And Demeter be devastated that her daughter wants nothing to do with her for lying to her and forcing her to be something she wasn’t.
And hades would be shocked that she’d willingly ate the pomegranate and ask her why she did it, and Persephone would say, “because you were the first good to respect and give me a choice…and I chose to be your queen and rule by your side.”
What do you think?

Lore Olympus 186 was the cutest thus far, and the ending got me thinking of what’s to come.
My first theory: Persephone and hades talking about children can foreshadow Persephone becoming pregnant with hades child soon (either milinoe, makaria or zagarous) which will not only make hades happy he can have kids and prove Persephone is a fertility goddess , it can get apollo and his son in trouble in Olympus with Zeus because ascipleus broke doctor patient confidentiality of telling his father hades personal business, and Apollo spread that information to Olympus to embarrass hades. But it can come back and bite them when Persephone announces a future pregnancy by hades and will make Olympus see them as liars.
And with Persephone explaining the flames of making a baby in a different way, it can hint of how she and hades can save fetal Dionysus when semelee meets her tragic end.
My next theory: when ares brings up how a war will start because of Persephone, Zeus was sweating. He suspects that Persephone is a fertility goddess and is doing this trial as a way to imprison her so no god can use her to overthrow him, but the trial has backfired on him immensely as Persephones act of wrath was seen as justified as the mortals broke the treaty with her mother and killed her nymphs while insulting her. Along with the fact that Demeter raised her as a mortal which shows she was never told much about Olympus’s laws and how Persephone wanted to make up for what happened. And hades calling out Zeus for not only being lenient with the other gods for similar acts, but also for Artemis and Apollo’s act of wrath on queen niobe by slaughtering her children for saying she was superior to leto.
My guess is that Apollo went to Zeus to “let the cat out of the bag” about him and Persephone and blackmailed him again to get him to comply to have him marry Persephone. But as we saw Hera and hades tell zeus that Persephone is afraid of him and that something between them, along with seeing Apollo’s obsession over her, zeus might be starting to connect the dots of not only Apollo’s intentions and confirmation that Persephone is indeed a fertility goddess, he might realize he violated Persephone to get her power.
Zeus maybe egotistical, but I’m sure he’d be disgusted by Apollo’s actions and realize he’s put Persephone in danger by persuing this trial. Now he’s in the middle of a tough choice that can have serious consequences for everyone involved.
Give Persephone to Apollo, who might have raped her, and risk himself being overthrown by him and see Persephone suffer the same fate as Métis and possibly his mother, and ensuing hades wrath of losing the woman he loves to her rapist.
Or give Persephone to hades and he’ll be more powerful than Zeus as hell have a fertility goddess for a wife. And have his secret exposed that he is the father of Apollo and Artemis and Hera leaves him for it.

I have another prediction for lore Olympus season 3.
For Persephone, since she’s been banished to the mortal realm and will be raking over Demeters job, she will now have the opportunity to explore her powers and will not only grow more plants and be her true self, she will grow more powerful and Zeus will realize he accidentally helped Persephone become more powerful as she learns of her fertility goddess abilities, including if her new female followers become pregnant as Eros stated that there needs to be a population increase. With the other gods unable to come to the mortal realm, Persephone will be the goddess the mortals depend on and with Zeus trying to make excuses that her work is not up to his standards, it will make the other gods suspicious as to why he won’t let up on Persephone and the mortals will question the punishment since Persephone had the right to do so as the mortals broke a treaty with her mom and killed her nymphs.
For Demeter, during her time as a mortal she will reflect on how she hurt Persephone by lying to her about her fertility goddess status and always being strict with her and making her study constantly. While Zeus is to blame for being a tyrant with the whole situation as he knows Persephone is a fertility goddess, Demeter will realize that her being overprotective of Persephone is what started this mess. And as she hears how her daughter has made much more crops and more babies are being born, she will be fearful of Zeus getting confirmation that Persephone is a fertility goddess, but also be amazed at her daughters abilities but will feel guilty for stifling her out of fear.
With Zeus realizing what he has done, it’ll get worse when Persephone not only becomes more powerful and worshipped by the mortals, but I also think that this will ruin his marriage to Hera now that Apollo has told everyone he is his snd Artemis’s father. Which leads to another arc coming for Demeter.
Iasion.
In mythology, he is the mortal that Demeter fell in love with and was killed by Zeus out of jealousy. My theory is that while zeus’s life is falling apart as well as his marriage, when he sees Persephone thriving as a goddess worshipped by mortals and Demeter finding love despite being banished and being mortal, he could use it as an opportunity to kill Iasion and try to consume Persephone like he did Métis to gain power.
Only for hades to swoop in and rescue Persephone when Iasion tells hades in the underworld what Zeus had done and that he was going to eat Persephone.
Seeing the love of her life killed and Persephone being taken from her once more because of Zeus, when Demeter gets her powers back, she will cause winter out of grief of losing the man she loves and her daughter because if zeys’s paranoia.
