Some Dreams Can Be Real - a Confession about Balem Abrasax - part 2 of 2
* SMUT ALERT: SERVILE SMUT AS FAR AS THE EYES CAN SEE * Pairing: Balem x OC (Mirage) * * * (continuing...) Opening her eyes and letting Balem to dive his beautiful green ones inside hers, Mirage didn't get to respond nothing to what he had said, the words, all of them, fainting on her throat, and pulling her hair back slowly, to uncover her ear, Balem whispered: - You are sweaty. - My bedroom was sultry, my Lord. Still smiling his malicious smirk Balem took his hand away and withdrawn some few steps, leaving Mirage where she was, and just then she noticed the absurd of what she have said, cause all of the ambiences were kept in a constant temperature of no more than 72*F degrees. Mirage, actually, well knew that what had inflamed her body that way it had been the dream she had with him, and not the ambience's temperature. - Are these the clothes you wear to sleep at your bedroom? Momentarily getting out of the trance, Mirage descended her eyes to her own clothes as she moaned - Yes, my Lord... Forgive me for I haven't changed myself. - Your clothes do please me. Now come. And listening to that, Mirage turned her face to him, seeing he had sat down at his high throne ahead, and readily getting up she addressed herself to Balem, skillfully placing herself sat over her ankles and starting to handle the things which were already disposed there: Mirage arranged the gold basin ahead of him, putting inside of it some cold water from a jar, and in sequence heating it with the hot water that was bubbling on the heater by her side, then turning it off in sequence, and lifting up the long and transparent left sleeve of her nightgown Mirage tried the water's temperature at the inner curve of her elbow, noticing that it was perfect, and quickly taking the scents and dropping them into the basin, she raised her glance to her Lord for a while before to stretch her hands to one of his heels, holding it and placing Balem's foot over her thighs as Mirage started to lift up the hem of his trousers slowly, and as she was finishing to do it to the second one, she found herself looking at his feet, inebriated. Mirage couldn't say the reason why, but she found Balem's feet very beautiful. Lanky, quite white, its very smooth skin. She well knew the real age of Balem, but it just only fascinated her the most about Balem having that teenager skin. And with both hands, in a real ecstasy, she slowly caressed his bare foot, then lowering herself down to kiss it, slowly getting up through along of its chest with little wet kisses, inhaling breath between one and another. And as she came to his heel, Balem just lifted the foot from her lap and with it he caressed her face, and sighing Mirage closed her eyes. How much she loved when Balem caressed her face with his feet... with a smile, Mirage let him to slide it along her jawline, and as he finally touched her palpitating lips, Mirage opened her eyes raising her face to him, who from the heights of his high throne and glory was deigning himself to look at her, at her, and she felt happy and grateful for belonging solely to him. And as he took off his foot, Mirage slowly put it inside the scented water, before to do the same to the other one, and taking a soap bar, she bathed both carefully, letting them to soak again in sequence; and getting up, Mirage asked: - Do you desire a chalice of wine, my Lord? In a slow and slightly bored manner he motioned a hand into her way, and turning into the little table aside she poured wine into a chalice, delivering it to Balem, who took it without to look at her, having a little sip, as Mirage returned to sit on her heels ahead the gold basin, to which she soon stretched her hands, taking one of his feet off from there and starting to dry it with a smooth towel. - I thought I would wake you at this hour - Balem said, between a sip of wine and another - I thought I would interrupt your dreams. Feeling to turn red, Mirage took off his other foot from the basin, starting to dry it as well, and she said under a breath: - I've... I've been dreaming this night, yes. - And was it a good dream, Mirage? She raised her glance up to him, just to see Balem to lick his lips after a sip of wine, and it didn't help her not a little, who at that point was already able to imagine the taste of the wine on his tongue, as it would to snake itself around hers. And swallowing Mirage lowered her eyes to his feet again, as she whispered: - Yes, my Lord; it was a good dream. - Won't you tell me? Averting the basin away and taking a little bottle of scented oil, Mirage whispered, almost inaudibly: - I don't dare to, my Lord. - Don't you dare? - Balem smiled maleficently, taking a long sip that time, as he said - So may I guess your dream was about me, Mirage? Once again Mirage's heart discharged on her chest. It was quite incredible the power Lord Balem had upon her, that power to take her out of herself, to take her out of the ground, to drag her in body and spirit to the spheres, to the stars... as doing nothing more than just to address her his grave, paused and harsh voice, doing nothing more than to breath around her; and trying to control herself, she poured two oil drops at a hand palm of hers, rubbing it to the other one then quickly, and taking his right foot, Mirage placed it over her thighs, after having raised and averted from them her nightgown, starting to massage it slowly, along all of its sole and then to each finger of his. And only after some minutes Balem turned to speak again: - Sometimes the reality can be better than the dreams, beautiful Mirage - and he emptied his chalice - If we dare and have the courage to abandon ourselves - and he stretched the chalice into her way, who leaving his foot for a while, took it and returned it to the table keeping her head down, then sitting at his feet again to do the same to his other foot. And as Mirage finished, she kissed both still a last time, before to put down the hems of his trousers again, and she asked him, with lowered eyes: - What do you desire from me now, my Lord? Order and I'll do. With no word, in a slow way, he offered her his left hand, and hesitating for a single second Mirage offered him hers, getting up, and Balem with no warning pulled her into his lap, where he placed his she-slave sat down, and Mirage sighed in surprise. And taking her by one large hand on her thigh and another on her face, passing his long arm by Mirage's back, he inclined himself to whisper into her ear: - Have you ever imagined that some dreams can be real, Mirage? Slowly sliding a hand along of the arm of his that was holding on her thigh, Mirage whispered, closing her trembling eyes: - How could it be possible, my Lord? - I could... - and Balem was gliding his wet lips through her ear, slightly sucking on the smooth part of her earlobe before to whisper - I could actually to be a devil who invades your bedroom at the deep of the night... To invade your dreams... and possess you. And he was saying this while gliding his fingers along of her jawline, until to introduce his index finger on her mouth, to what Mirage instinctively reacted, closing her lips around it and sucking on Balem's long finger, with a sigh of delight, while she lifted her other hand to caress at his arm to which he was doing that, eliciting that way from Balem a sigh against of her ear, to where he inserted the tip of his tongue. And as he freed her lips Mirage moaned under a breath: - But my Lord isn't a devil. - No? And what am I, Mirage? - My Lord is an angel. And smiling Balem slid his nails through her lips, softly biting on her jawline, having both of his arms caressed by his Mirage under an insistent and soft way, and pulling her face to his with his enormous hand he tightened her ear between his lips, and then he whispered there: - A fallen one? - No... An angel of light, an angel of glory. And descending his right hand in a brusque gesture from her face to her thighs Balem lifted Mirage's nightgown up, getting with his hand up through under it and grabbing at her left breast with strength, digging into it his nails, and biting a lip she tilted her head back, nestling her face to his, as Mirage moaned under a breath: - My Lord... My adored Lord... My... My beautiful angel descended from the stars to make me venerate you and to give me pleasure! And lifting her hand to reach Balem's face that was panting over hers, Mirage was offering him her lips for a kiss, crazily craving to take the initiative but fearing that he would repel her, and breathing his inhalation and throwing hers on his, Mirage, instead of doing this, heard Balem to say, as he was kneading her breast uninterruptedly and gliding his other hand between her thighs: - It pleases me the way you venerate me, Mirage. It pleases me the way you kneel yourself, submissive, at my feet. Their lips were by now millimeters of distance between, almost rubbing between as they two were breathing and exhaling through them nervously, and even so Balem didn't kiss her, the growing tension becoming almost unsupportable, and Mirage whispered so, so lowly then, that Balem only heard her because he was so close: - And does my Lord desire me to kneel down in front of you now? - No - he responded her at the same tone - Now I want YOU. And saying this Balem finally covered her lips with his, stealing all of her breath, and moaning Mirage cupped his beautiful face, the delicious taste of wine in his warm saliva invading her mouth, and internally she thanked heaven for that intense happiness. * And when, they two being already naked on the large and smooth bed, Lord Balem finally bended over her, lifting Mirage's legs with his enormous hands to wrap them over his narrow hip, opening her to himself, Balem penetrated his she-slave with his so well endowed and incredibly hard length, descending to the bottom of her body as with a shiver she contorted herself, having a grunting that he let to scape out over her face as he was plunging his nails into the smooth flesh of Mirage's thighs, Balem started to impulse his hips back and forward against hers, her body so opened and under exposure for him, and feeling out of himself Balem sighed against her face. And smiling Mirage was holding him with strength to herself then: - You are my favorite, Mirage... Among all of them - and Balem bit her shoulder after having did it to her neck, and then he whispered - Among all of them! And smiling and moaning under the weight of his body over hers, Mirage thought to herself: "And you, Lord Balem, you're my one and real love". But she kept to herself these words. * And as then sat over his firm and smooth thighs she felt him to make her a gift with the heat of the seed of his ultimate pleasure, flooding her for whole by her insides as he closed his eyes, slightly retorting his neck back, Mirage ceased all the movement, then just holding him and breathing against Balem's seized face. And for a short while they two remained there, connected between, as into a dreaming state she kept caressing the smooth skin of his shoulders. And for a second Mirage found herself desiring that that seed could fructify, so she could have the honor of having something of Balem growing inside her... But it was just a dream. Laying her down, Balem slid out of his slave who, feeling herself emptied of him, moaned and sighed under a breath, and giving her a last wet kiss on her neck, Balem sighed then: - You may return to your bedroom now. Desiring to stay but as well desiring to obey him over anything, Mirage experienced a moment of dilemma before to finally and slowly to get up, taking and slowly dressing up her nightgown, as with her eyes down she addressed herself to her owner once more: - As you allow me, my Lord - and as he waved her, Mirage moved herself into the doorway, where she halted as she heard Balem to call her name, and anxiously Mirage lifted her face into the bed's way, yet don't getting to see him on it from where she was then, but delighting herself along with the words he addressed her: - Mirage... - and he took a brief pause before to complete - Dream with me - and he seemed to take a breath before to end his sentence - This is a command. * * ***************************** * MY CONFESSION TO PRIOR PHILIP: Prior! Once more here we are wrapped by dreams, my venerable prior. What the guilty we could have on that? Hum? Guilty I am, cause it's the second time that my Confessions generate dreams to my venerable readers? My Lord! OOps, I mean, my Prior! Don't put that terrible blame on me, I implore! OOps, well, you're getting what I mean. I wouldn't not even to write such things, you well know, I just did it to attend to the requests and, just as always, my intentions were, are and will always be the best. Because with dreams the life is too much more pleasing, prior. Hum, this remind me of something. Do you, prior? About what do the monks dream? The holy spirit's little dove? What? "On your knees now and start praying"? Ok. Here we go again. There are days in which you look like Lord Balem, prior, when you're authoritarian this way. Ouch. AMEN, LORD BALEM!

His Lover A Warrior
(Balem Abrasax X Guard! Reader)
Imagine Being Balem Personal guard and a secret lover.
This is also my very first Balem Abrasax one-shot. Hope you guys like it!
(Y/n)’s POV
It was silent as It was just me and Balem in his throne room waiting for the guess to come in and talk business. “You're quiet.” Balem said softly as I stood by his side. “I’m just thinking my Lord.” I said as I saw a slight frown when I said his title. “I have a sick feeling that one of those men is hiding something.” I finished as I turned to look at him.
This pecked his interest since I was always right with my gut feeling human or not. “You sure you not ill my love?” He asked as he turned to look at me. “If I was then I wouldn’t be with you My Lord.” I said bowing my head slightly. “Stop.” He said causing me to smile at him slightly.
“You know how much I hate it when you call me that.” He said sternly causing me to laugh softly at him and stood straight up. “I am only equal to those that serve you Lord Balem. I am nothing more and nothing less.” I said as I turn to look ahead.
“And that is why I fallen for you.” He said softly as I smiled at him slightly. “You can be more then powerful if you where my Queen. But you refuse just to stand by my side and fight with me instead of hiding away where you can be safe from everything.” He said as I bit the inside my cheek to prevent myself from blushing at him.
“I am not afraid to fight My King.” I said as I saw him smile slightly at what I called him. “Nor am I afraid to die for you.” I added causing him to frown at me. He was about to say something only for me to look at the door as it opened. I frown as I watch Cygnus who held a confident aura around him.
“The next Harvest well happen tell 5 years.” I heard one of the guest said as I felt someone looking at me. I look around as I saw Jace one of my many trusted guard I have. “Well you excuse me.” I said softly as I saw Balem looking at me. He frown but nod his head telling me I could go.
I gracefully walked out taking notice of more them one eyes on me. “(Y/n).” Jace said as I look at him with a raised eyebrow. “What is it?” I asked him as I saw William, Phil, and Andrew here as well. “There are bombs near the gates.” William said causing me to stiffen slightly. “Andrew, Jace find there person who put them there and bring them to me. William, Phil put the bomb on Cygnus Chipper and a tracker.” I said as they bowed there head and smirk darkly as they left.
I smirk ever so slightly as I walked back out towards Balem side. “Someone place bombs at the gate.” I whispered to Balem as nobody seems to notice our little extends of words. “Andrew and Jace went to find the ones who put them there while William and Phil when to put the bombs in Cygnus Chipper." I said softly as I saw his finger slightly twitch.
My smirk never fluttered as I stood straight up and look to see Cygnus looking at me. I raised and eyebrow at him causing him to quickly look away from me and back to Balem who seems to see his stare towards me. “Is there a problem Cygnus?” Balem asked scaring all the guess. “Why do you have that earthling whore with you all the time.” Cygnus asked causing me to laugh at him.
“If I where you. I wouldn’t judge what you see.” I said as I saw the dark look in Balem eyes. I disappeared and reappeared next to Cygnus and placed my dagger on his throat. “If you must know. I’ve probably have killed more people them Balem has ever streaked fear in them.” I said darkly as I saw Balem raised up his hand.
I huffed slightly then took the dagger down and disappeared and reappeared next to Balem again. “Never underestimate my guards Cygnus.” Balem said slightly calmed for what Cygnus called me. “Mistress! We found an Intruder.” I heard Jace yelled causing me to look at Balem.
“Go ahead.” Balem mumbled letting me take full control of the interrogation. “Who hired you here?” I asked softly as if I was talking to a child. The poor boy looked up at me in pain causing me to look at both Andrew and Jace. ‘He was already like this when we found him.’ Andrew said in my mind causing me to nod.
“Who did you see?” I asked again as I crouch in front of him. “There was two other guards I haven’t seen them around here.” The boy said as I placed my index and pointer finger on his chin making him look up at me. “Where they with somebody?” I asked as he nod his head then looked at Cygnus. “It was him.” The boy said then everything happened so quick.
I stood in front of the boy as I felt a sharp pain on my shoulder. “NO!” Balem yelled as Andrew hold Cygnus by the throat in the air while Jace is by my side. “Mistress.” Jace called as I groan slightly. “Fuck it hurt.” I mumbled softly as I saw Balem by my side. “Take him away.” Balem said to Andrew who grins at Cygnus.
“With pleasure.” Andrew said as Balem glared at the others. “Leave us.” Balem said as Mr. Night come back with a healer. “I’m fine.” I said softly as Jace helped me sat up and Balem placed a hand on my lower back. "Master your lossing too much blood." Jace said as I felt my eyes grow heavy.
3rd Person POV
(Y/n)'s eyes grow heavy as Balem started to panic. "(Y/n)? Don't close your eyes. Stay with us." Balem urged as the healer tried there best. "Master this is gonna hurt." Jace said then pulled out the dagger causing (Y/n) to gasp and whimper in pain.
Balem panic as he watch his lovers tried her best not to fall into a deep slumber one that she might not be able to wake up from. Even though Balem and (Y/n) love for each other was secret it was obvious for a few people to see through them. Other think they would make a great king and queen.
"Master your gonna make it. You just need to fight okay." Jace said softly as Balem looked at him. "This is the best I could do." The healer said bowing there head as Balem pulled (Y/n)'s body closer to him. "Thats all your can do?!" Balem yelled as Jace looked at the boy.
"Lord Balem. You are in no position to take charge." Jace said causing Balem to glare at him. "Master told me when your emotion is out of control that William will take charge tell your back to your usual self." Jace said as Balem looked at him then back to (Y/n). "Take her to your room. Then we can see what we can do to Cygnus." Jace said just as William and Phil came in the room.
"What happened?" William asked as he saw Balem pick up (Y/n) sleeping form and carried her bridal Style. "Cygnus. We got to make sure Andrew doesn't have all the fun." Jace said darkly as William nod his head and look out Balem. "Well wait for your orders when you come back Lord Balem." William said them walked away.
To anyone who would have just said that and left Balem would had them killed or scared them to there own graves. But since this (Y/n)'s well trusted guards he had no questions or doubts against them. "Come on boy." Jace said as Balem walked off toward his chambers.

🍆💦 for Balem ;)
Send 🍆 and my muse will describe a sexual fantasy they have about your muse.
Send 💦 instead for a wet dream they’d had about your muse.
***
🍆 Balem: “I fantasize about Mira acting completely submissive to me… She’s always so stubborn, but in my fantasies she’s always completely under my command, whimpering as she begs to be taken, begs to be kissed, begs for my body thrusting into her, promising me to do anything I want.
I imagine her whining as I pound her from behind, grabbing at her hair and making her to turn her neck to look at me, and she tells me I’m her only one lord, and she belongs solely to me”
***
💦 A night Balem dreamed Mira was giving him a blow job. He was sitting on his throne in his great hall in Jupiter and she was obediently kneeled between his legs, bobbing on him with her eyes pierced on his, moaning in pleasure as she did that. In that dream Mira was his slave, and her life was dedicated exclusively for the satisfaction of his most forbidden desires. And the dream it was so real and so pleasing that when he woke up, the sheets were all wet by his precum, his swollen length longing for the warmth of Mira’s beautiful and voluptuous lips as he found himself alone in his bed.

Love me like you do (Part 29)-Balem series
A/N: 3 months, I know. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this part, it was a beast to write. Mainly due to the fact I had to go through so many rewrites and tons of planning on what was important enough to keep in the story without needlessly writing both of them sitting at home sulking. ✍🏻 I don’t know about y’all, but as much as I love angst, writing multiple chapters of pining/sulking sounds dull. With no interaction at all between characters that is. So, forgive the skip arounds, but I believe I put what was important for the bulk of the plot. I know some of it might be boring, but Okay! Sorry, go on and read, lovelies.
MOOD MUSIC: Recover by Ruelle
***
Grand environments, lively halls, the constant harsh cacophony of workers and soldiers alike…that was the scenery of the past for him. His life at a finer point in time that was the envy of all who were worthy enough to bear it witness. Balem could not imagine thousands of years of work, planning, and betrayal would end up being for nothing. Every step of the way felt akin to a blessing of the gods, only he had very little to show for it now. There was no pride in wasting away in his chambers as the universe went on around him, but what purpose was there in continuing on when he had already tasted the simplest joy in life?
“Thousands…thousands of years to find her and it seems fate deems me unworthy of her yet again…” Balem stared blankly ahead towards his bookshelves, wine bottle clasped dangerously in his hand as he once again brought it towards his lips. There was madness the moment he felt the weight of the bottle lessen, knowing he’d have to suffer through another conversation with a servant to retrieve more for him. He rarely made appearances anymore, allowing the heads of each department to oversee the refinery and figure out the solutions to the many problems he used to handle. It was, if he were honest with himself, a mess of a business now. Barely clinging along through his name alone and money others had invested in it. A wiser man would thank them, appeal to their better nature and pick up the pieces of his livelihood, what precious little there was of it. But, Balem was not that man, he would never swallow his pride and entertain, even for a moment, the thought of begging. Somewhere deep down he knew you’d be the end of him, even if it was his own doing as well.
“My lord-“ The splice hesitantly entered the Primary’s chambers, stopping in his tracks when he found the room in more disrepair than this morning. Wine bottles littered Balem’s desk, numerous papers scattered amongst the floor and table tops that had remained unread and unsigned for months on end. It was maddening, but Mr. Night could not bring himself to fully question his lord’s will. Whether in business or his own heartache, Balem would still cling to his stubborn and unrelenting nature.
“Get out.” Balem furiously whispered, gritting his teeth at just the slightest sound of his advisor’s voice. He had no patience for words, and as the days would have it, the splice took it upon himself to be a nuisance to him. More so than usual.
“Yes, Lord Balem, but-“
“LEAVE!” The Primary turned in his chair, throwing the bottle in his hand towards the windows of his room. The glass shattered easily, giving way to the already broken window panes that were left as is from Titus’ invasion. Once you had left him, there was no motivation to even bother with the damages, he simply slipped away into his privacy and let the world move on without him. It was like the plague had hit this planet, creating a dark and gloomy atmosphere that left the city below in shambles and people without so much as a meal. Selfish as he was, the essence of life on Jupiter was his will to keep the refinery going, to provide what he could to the workers and families below if only for his own benefit at the end of the day. Without him, everything was falling apart, but without you…there was no fire in him anymore. Just another wound to his pride he had yet to tolerate. One woman shouldn’t carry such a power over him, and yet all he wished was to cave to you.
To some, mainly his associates, they related his moods to the death of his brother. Thinking that he’d even felt some semblance of love for the younger fool, how wrong they were. Nothing short of death would have made him happy in regards to Titus’ fate, but he would not waste his time explaining to the other elite what had dampened his spirits and left him a shell of a person. You were his business, and no one else’s. Even now, he could not allow himself to let you go, no matter how bitter he felt towards you at times. The pathetic truth of it was, that he knew he’d find no other love in the universe that could possibly come close to what you had offered him and he wasn’t sure he’d ever want to. It was a tiring venture, after all.
Mr. Night flinched back in fear, the sound of the bottle breaking reverberating off the marble walls and making the action seem even more threatening. He had spent months attempting to lift his lord’s moods, but there was no longer anything that could gauge a reaction from him. Save for interrupting Balem’s sulking, the Primary was always eager to show him or others the extent of his loathing in those cases. But, the advisor could not back down this time, Balem certainly wasn’t losing his fortune quickly, but if he wasn’t careful now that was a reality they could face in the coming months. “Forgive me, Lord Balem, but you can’t ignore these letters anymore. Your associates they want-“
“Answers…?” Balem groaned in frustration, sweeping a palm over his features and begrudgingly turning to the splice who stood stiff in fear at the doors.
“Y-Yes…they’ve not heard from you in several months and wish to know when the next corporate meeting will take place to discuss the current state of-“
“We all want answers, Mr. Night. It doesn’t mean we’re deemed worthy enough to get them…” Balem bitterly spat to him, leaning back into his throne and turning his angry gaze to the small fire burning in his chambers. “Now, get out…” The Primary dismissed him with a flippant wave of his hand, trying hard to ignore the footsteps coming closer and causing another wave of fury to erupt from him. “GO!”
“I will…, my lord…” The advisor, albeit frightful of his master, placed some papers on the desk, hoping the will of Titus Abrasax would be enough to capture Balem’s attention. “Titus was too reckless to leave anything behind for family, as expected…but seeing as how you are the head of the family now, the commonwealth ministry has passed on what little fortune he had left to you, Lord Balem.”
The Primary’s eyes darted to the papers, seeing the glow of Titus’ past inheritance emitting from the top. Just seeing his little Brother’s name angered him all over again, half of the blame for losing you was solely placed on the immature child that Titus was. He held no regret or sympathy for how he ended it, and even though he felt that familiar pain of your loss and the disgust you held in your eyes for him that night…he wouldn’t take it back. Some would call that stubbornness, but he believed it was well deserved. No one would miss his brother, and that was one trouble he was happy to remove from his life. “Burn it, destroy it, do whatever you wish with it. I will never take anything that belonged to him.”
If someone could save Mr. Night from the stubbornness of his liege, he’d be forever grateful. But, he had been by Balem’s side long enough to know better than to argue the point. Had the Primary been hurting for money, he’d push it, but Titus barely held a jewel to his name. “As you wish, my lord.” He made to reach for the document, but as his finger slid over the paper Balem stole it from beneath his hand.
He could not say what part of it caught his eye, perhaps it was the need to destroy it himself, or maybe it was the paragraph on the planets under Titus’ control. All Balem knew, was that he had an inkling of a thought, one that brought a sliver of hope in him he hadn’t felt in ages.
“Leave me.” He crumpled it slightly, bringing the document closer to his face and reading slowly over the words. Each one meant little to him, but he could entertain the ideas going on in his mind for a bit longer. “Now.”
Mr. Night looked curiously on, wondering what had sparked inside Balem for him to suddenly act like that. But he would take his victories and leave his master be. “Of course, my lord.” He bowed happily, stepping back and stealing one last glance before exiting the chambers.
The second the doors closed, Balem crumped the entire thing and tossed it into the fire, watching proudly as the paper burned and gave way to the heat around it. There was beauty in the sight, like he had officially erased the existence of Titus Abrasax from the world and left nothing but ash. “Fitting end for you.” He softly spoke, closing his eyes and returning to the more important things on his mind. The Commonwealth Ministry is what stuck out to him, the largely bolded letters that tried desperately to remind the universe how important their role was in all they did. He never respected them, they were merely bureaucrats who waved their badges around and pretended to be the real power source in the world. However, they were always in the palm of his hand, never denying him his wants or needs when it came down to it. Perhaps, he thought, it was time to use that to his full advantage. It was a foolish plan, and it wasn’t something he would easily relinquish to another, but seeing his brother’s name again…it brought memories to him he tried forgetting and only failed pathetically at.
“You torment me, little bird…” He weakly cried, jaw tightening when this build up of emotions wracked his body. He was never one to allow sentiments to disturb him, but you were the exception to that. You always were. Balem sighed heavily into his hand, pinching at the bridge of his nose and screwing his eyes shut. He would not allow tears to fall, but he gave himself the punishment of his longing for you. Seven months without you was a torture, one he attempted to take in stride only to find himself suffering deeper at the end of it. Not touching you, kissing you, simply having the pleasure of being near such a beautiful creature…it was pain unlike any other for him. He missed the nights of having you in his arms, inhaling the scent that was so uniquely yours it awakened the parts of his soul he longed thought dead. There was no life in his palace now, it all rotted away and caused a silence that was punishing. There were days he had thought he’d gone mad, seeing visions of you, sometimes by his side, cupping his cheek at night and kissing him in the loving way you did. It frustrated him to think of it, knowing at the time he thought little of such small affections. Now, well, he’d do anything to return to that time. To be able to touch your skin, to take you into his hold and never let go for the sake of all he held dear. He’d give up a thousand planets, if it meant having you back.
“Then do it.”
He stiffened at the voice, eyes widening when that familiar softness to the tone rang like a melody to his ears. He swept the fallen strands of hair from his face, the unruly locks having grown a little longer from his lack of care to himself. The darkness in his eyes momentarily dissipated, leaving a glint of fondness he reserved only for you. “Y/N…?”
“Do what? I already have enough on my plate, I’m not going to throw my…”
Another voice trailed off into sentences he paid no attention to, he was more interested in the pleasant giggle of yours that brought him endless joy. It felt like ages since he heard it, even though he knew that would be a lie. Because, the madness that infected his mind in his wine filled stupors was not the cause of hearing you now. In his self pity, he had activated the device below his ear, subconsciously inflicting another round of misery on himself. Watching you was the only way to relieve some of the heartache, but it only caused the wound to fester more. Seeing you live on, nursing your own broken heart, it angered him greatly. But, you had made it clear to him the night he left you back on earth to never return to you. It took every ounce of self control to keep himself from ignoring your request, because there were times he wanted to reach through and have you.
Balem dropped his head in his hands, groans of distress turning into cries of indignation as he clawed at his own hair. He was too far gone now, heart empty of all else but his yearning for you. Looking at the screen of you before him unwinded all the pent up rage, his passion coming out in the form of scattering all belongings on his desk to the floor, bottles crashing into the walls and his screams that carried themselves down the empty halls of his alcazar.
He sank to his knees at his desk, bloodshot eyes reluctantly gazing up at you on the screen that produced a moment from earlier in your day. Even in simple attire, hair a mess from working, you were beautiful to him. All he wished was for your happiness, it was the only selfless thing he had ever done in his long life. Part of him regretted it, but there was pain on both sides. He saw it in you as well, there was a sparkle in your eyes that was no longer there. One he grew eagerly accustomed to upon returning from meetings or simply being at your side. He remembered it fondly, the very first night he took notice was when you danced with him at Kalique’s ball, an intrigued and happy glint that did all your features justice.
Maybe you deserved a better man than him, maybe he deserved losing it all, either way neither of you were happy now…but, he had made a promise long ago that he’d do anything to make you smile. He intended to keep that oath, whether you willed him to or not at this time. With a click under his ear, he shut the hologram off, glancing back at the fire, reminding himself of his intentions from earlier. There was no sense in debating with himself anymore, because it was clear now that all he wanted was to have you back. You were his, and he was entirely yours, all that was left was to prove it to you.
***
“Then do it.” Your hand folded the rag into a quick square, wiping over the table and giving your friend that same grin she hated on you. Perhaps it was childish, but she often teased you relentlessly most days, it was only fair to push back sometimes.
“Do what? I already have enough on my plate, I’m not going to throw my life away on some stupid dream.” Sera huffed at your expression, crossing her arms and taking a seat right over the bench you had just finished cleaning. Somewhere in the irritated part of your mind, you wanted to shove her off, but she was a close friend. One you wouldn’t dare wave away just because you were going through your own crisis. So you laughed, shaking your head and leaning onto the table as you tried to give advice to a stubborn fool. How familiar that felt…
“I thought you wanted to be an actress?”
“Broadway star.”
“Same thing…” You shrugged, trying to finish your duties so you could rush home and sleep away your sour mood. Working here didn’t exactly help nurse it, either. So many demands for coffee and pastries, and of course, the customers who had twenty changes to a basic drink. It was hell, if you were blunt, and you wished you could dump a fresh pot over their heads most days. Except money was now an issue, and your apartment wasn’t going to pay for itself. It was a miracle you even got to keep it. Months gone, and you came back to find your personal items in storage, and a change of locks on the door. With a nice, welcoming sign of ‘Evicted’ nailed to it. It was completely warranted, as being abducted wasn’t a likely excuse for skipping several months of utilities and rent…but, still. After dealing with a family that had issues deeper than the earth’s core, you needed to catch some breaks.
Thankfully, your landlord was a greedy, horrible man. Meaning he could be bribed with the smallest of coins, and whatever was left in your savings. It wasn’t ideal, but with what little you had, you were able to get your apartment back. Save for the items he managed to steal and pawn off somewhere. Now was hardly the time to complain though, you were just grateful for the second chances. Even with work, if it hadn’t been for your boss being a longtime friend…well, you didn’t want to imagine where you’d be right now.
“Hey!”
You blinked in surprise when Sera jabbed you hard in the ribs. Attempting to gain your attention back to her current predicament.
“You space out far too much lately. Are you alright? I thought going off on almost a years vacation would’ve done you some good?”
“It was hardly a vacation…” Bitter as that sounded, at some points it was a dream come true. But, who ends a vacation with fratricide and explosions? It would be an insult to ask any normal human to go through those events and pretend life was just going to sweetly move on. And as luck would have it…whether near him or not, moving on was not easy. “Not a vacation.” You softly repeated, wanting her to move the conversation along so you wouldn’t make a fool of yourself and cry at the end of your shift.
“Okay, okay.” Sera sighed in boredom, already watching the clock until it managed to hit ten at night. Freedom was a sweet victory, and you couldn’t help but smile as she hopped from the chair and grabbed the rag from your hand. “We’re done here. Let’s go and get some late night dinner.”
“I’ll pass tonight, kind of want to sleep.”
“At least let me make you a drink before we leave. Too bad this place doesn’t serve alcohol, because you look like you need it…”
Her words continued on without the blessing of your attention, but she often spoke without caring who was listening. You were too busy dreading the silence of your apartment, and the empty halls that left the building feeling old and out of place. How pathetic were you now? Expecting to see splices running up and down the halls in their haste to please their lord…you really needed help.
“Here. Be safe on your way home.” Sera handed you a cup, smiling before putting her coat on and heading out the door. You quickly followed suit, offering a thanks and a wave goodbye as you locked up the cafe for the night. For a moment, you watched her walk down the street, almost wishing you had taken her offer for dinner. But, the pull of your own self pity was stronger this night.
With a hesitant step, you turned the corner, making your way down the crowded street on a weekend and hoping your hot water was working tonight because, you needed a relaxing bath. In truth, it was the very simple comforts of life that offered any escape from your thoughts. The majority of them often took you to him, and that was the unbearable part. You could pretend the last few months had been easy. That your love for him had somehow disappeared and you could move on and date someone a little closer to home. But, that would be foolish of you. Love like that doesn’t just drift away, especially when certain events transpire and only serve in bringing you closer together.
“No, stop!” You harshly berated yourself, angrily pulling the lid from your cup and swiping the peak of the whip cream off. It wasn’t like the delicious taste would heal a broken heart, but it was a very small distraction from focusing on your pain. Sometimes doing the most mundane tasks made you feel better, as if you could convince yourself it was possible to move on from all that. Just keep moving, like some emotionless being that simply lived for the mediocrity of life. “Idiot.”
The worst of it? Walking this path home, because every time it never failed to bring up memories of the very first day you met him. Sometimes it still felt like a fever dream, and how exactly does one continue knowing such universal secrets? Not that you wanted to reveal such discoveries, the thought of all the attention made you sick. But, what was there to move on to now? Try as you might, you knew no one would ever compare to him. “Look at me, can’t even think his stupid name…”
A sigh left your lips, eyes downcast and focused on the whip cream melting over your coffee. You loathed this helpless feeling. All you wanted was him, and at the same time you wished you could forget him. How could you still love someone so beastly in his ways, so set on destruction and profit? It became harder to think of his negative traits, because every day away from him only made you value the caring side he bestowed on you, and only you. What was that old adage? Absence makes the heart grow fonder? It always seemed a silly thing people say, until you’re left feeling exactly that.
You missed him, and in some ways you regretted ever leaving him. Not even due to the lack of comfort in your life, but only for his company. If you could feel his presence just once more…maybe then you’d stop this lovestruck behavior.
***
“Steady.” The captain called, lips tightened in concentration as his crew brought the clipper to a balanced halt. It hovered over the city, drawing no attention to itself as the captain worked to put on the shields. Everyone seemed less than impressed by the view below, with nothing but skyscrapers and endless roadways that seemed far too primitive to them. Even to Balem, there wasn’t much he found beautiful about earth, something his mother often confused him with growing up. She seemed so entertained by the planet, as if she yearned for a different life. One in which she could live among the earthlings and pretend all was easy. He supposed he envied her dreams, if only because the one thing he longed for was down there now.
He took a steady breath, not the least interested in those around him as they found the proper coordinates for the building he sought. He was too preoccupied now, mind conjuring up every scenario possible on your reaction to seeing him. Part of him hoped it’d be relief, but he never cared for the fairy tale lives others lived. You were no simpleton, your heart may have been ruling your brain far more than his, but you still didn’t lack logic when it came to the world. Another reason he respected and admired you. No, when it came to you, he nearly hoped you’d give him that angry glare of yours. How he missed that…
“Are you certain-“
“Do not question my decisions, Mr. Night.” Balem turned his gaze to the splice, cheek resting in his hand as all else stood still. There was something frightening about that, and the advisor wasn’t willing to push the subject further. He supposed he should be thankful his lord even left his chambers.
The minute he heard the roar of his name, he came running to find Balem briskly walking down the hall. Tablet in hand, and determined look on his features. That was a look he hadn’t seen for some time, and in the pit of his chest he was proud to see Balem back to his old self. Unfortunately, though, all else on the Primary’s mind was kept secret, and the only order Mr. Night was given was to retrieve something from the commonwealth ministry before they were to head to earth. It was a shock to him, but he would never deny his lord’s will.
“Yes, well-“
Balem held his hand up for silence, eyes darting to the view of the city down below. He fixated on the lone building in the middle of the street, surrounded by businesses and empty alleys. To any creature of wealth, it would seem unlivable, and he was certainly disgusted by the fact you would ever inhabit such a place. But, he was not here to judge, not quite yet. For now he was content in his thinking, and all he had intended was for you to be his again. “There.”
The captain gave his orders, clipper hovering dangerously close to the roof of the apartments. They stalled the engines, cloaking systems taking over as Balem rose from his throne. For a moment, he simply watched, disbelief and alleviation swarming his mind all at once. He had longed for this moment, even more on the nights he truly felt he’d never see or have you again. Yet, here he stood, mere feet away from the very place he’d find you.
“Start the transporters. Now!” He ordered, boots scuffing the ground as he rushed to the transport bay. For a man with many strategies, he didn’t exactly formulate the words he would say to you, but overall he knew what he wanted. He always did, and he’d spend a thousand eternities trying to convince you to be his again.
“Lord Balem-“ Mr. Night followed closely behind, pushing some of the crew from his path as he attempted to gain the lord’s attention. By now, it was fairly obvious to him what Balem was planning, and he had no intention of interfering. Perhaps even a part of him agreed to the idea, but he was still ever the worried advisor on all matters involving the family business. “My Lord, If-“
“Enough of your bothersome conversation, Mr. Night.” Balem growled, grabbing the clothing device from the numerous tables lining the clipper walls. He graciously waved it over himself, easily removing his usual dress into something more suiting of earth’s culture. The well tailored suit was perfect for his tastes, but to any person down there it’d likely only serve to make him stick out. “Keep the clipper nearby, I’ll send for you when needed. Is that understood?!” He straightened his gold tie, smoothing out the creases of his black blazer before turning his annoyed gaze to the splice.
There was no further need to speak, that much was clear, and all the advisor could do was bow respectfully and watch the Primary disappear into the transporter.
***
The door gave way to your grip, only proving how little management thought of their tenants safety. Not that the front office ever left much to the imagination for potential thieves. With a single dirty couch, and a mess of papers on the counter, the only thing your landlord was attracting were pests. “Hey there, Mr. Taylor…” You greeted weakly, not in the mood for human interaction, but you might as well be civil with the old man.
“Thought I told you to not be entering the office so goddamn late?!” He muttered hotly under his breath, always in some fit or mood that made everyone around him uncomfortable. You just rolled your eyes when he wasn’t looking, feet hurrying over the threshold and into the stairwell. The man always had something to complain about, in some odd way he even reminded you of a certain someone. As far as threats and complaints went, anyway. Nothing seemed to please him.
“Maybe make another entrance and I wouldn’t have to.” You snapped back, albeit quietly, no need to begin a war of words with someone that held your livelihood in his hands.
“What was that?!”
“Nothing…” If ever there was a reason you wanted back on another planet, he was it. Sometimes it appeared life wanted you to purposefully regret your decision, no matter how right it seemed at the time. Every where you turned there was more and more evidence of how horrible the world already was, even with other planets trying to harvest human beings.
On your way up, you heard him still grumbling from the office, but it served to pick up your pace so you could be rid of him for the night. Your apartment may have been on the verge of acceptable, but you still enjoyed the silence and peace it offered. It was your slice of home, a small escape from all things hectic and the closer you got to the door, the lighter your heart began to feel.
“Could this day possibly get any worse?” It was said with a bit too much bitterness, but who could blame you for the irritation you felt? Most of it was self pity, and while you were never one to wallow in it, you figured you deserved at least a day of crying, junk food and horrible television. Since there was no work tomorrow, you had no reason not to cave and do all those activities. With a renewed sense of purpose, you moved the coffee to your other hand, now fishing in your bag for your keys. It felt like forever until you found them, the key ring jingling softly as you unlocked the door and hurried inside.
***
His finger slid deftly along the dresser, collecting a fine sheen of dust over his fingertip that left him grimacing. For such a beautiful woman, he had to ponder how you lived in such a hideous place. In some foreign way, he placed the blame upon himself. He was by no means your caretaker, nor did he wish to be so, but he felt it necessary to bestow every beauty upon you when in his power. But, this? This building was an eyesore he had only wished to destroy once gone from this hellish planet.
“Maddening…” Balem whispered to himself, green eyes trailing the furniture until it stopped at the windows along the wall. You had very little in this small room, and from what he gathered, most of it was the basic necessities of life. A single bed, television, and a kitchen that seemed to connect to the rest of the apartment in some odd way. To say he was unimpressed would be an understatement, because there were no words he could use to describe his disgust with the place. It left him reeling, and in truth gave him more resolve to bring you back with him. This world offered nothing for you, and in his eyes you would forever deserve more than this.
As he paced gracefully towards the windows, he heard the commotion downstairs. Doors slamming, that insufferable fool who seemed in charge of this dilapidated hell hole, and then the cautious footsteps of a woman he had grown to know fondly. He had never placed such care in observing anyone, unless it required a finesse of business tact, that is. With you, however, he had learned every movement, every sound, and every expression that could possibly be burned into his memory. If he had the heart, he’d of wept, knowing that those nights of watching you from Jupiter would no longer have to suffice for him. Because, the second that locked turned, he’d be staring deep into the eyes of the woman he adored.
The knob gave way slowly, and the darkness of the room hid him well enough if only for a moment. He had beheld the sight of you with a mixture of joy and an uncharacteristic apprehension in him, but he couldn’t bring himself to walk away. You were perfection in his eyes, so sweet in your walk, and so pensive in your gaze it nearly stole the breath from him. You hadn’t noticed just yet, and so you settled your bag upon the ground, keys tossed onto the table and a heavy sigh escaping those lips he had only dreamt of for months. In that moment, he only wanted to reach for you, to cup your cheek and kiss you with every passion of his loneliness and longing. But, how inappropriate would you find that to be? He had known you long enough to venture your reaction, and it only ended in disbelief and a displeased remark.
The thought of remaining silent crossed his mind, he did not wish to alarm you, but merely watching you was unraveling what little control he held. Months of not physically being near, it wore him down, and for a man who prided himself on his composed nature, he simply did not care anymore. “…Little bird.” His face softened, voice barely above a whisper as he saw the cup in your hand practically fly from your grip.
You were instantly startled, heart suddenly beating wildly as the coffee spilled on the floor and the cup rolled off to the side. No one ever expects to hear a voice come from nowhere when they live alone, and in your haste to find the source, you reached for the light switch. Only to stop when your thoughts had finally collected themselves, and you had fully registered that familiar timbre.
You hadn’t the nerve to speak just yet. Your fingers laid idle on the switch, eyes fixated on the wall as you simply lived in the moment. There were a few seconds, in this current chain of events, that you convinced yourself it was your lovestruck heart conjuring images of him. Or even a sudden wave of longing that spawned the charming sound of his voice. But, this was reality, and even without pinching yourself you could easily recall this was no dream. He was here, and you were with him…
Balem stared directly at you, eyes trained on the astonished expression you wore. In the back of his mind, he found a humor in it, but that innocent thought was fleeting the second you recovered.
“Leave.”
It was harsh, angry even, but he wasn’t expecting much else from you right now. The pure elation he felt at being near was deep, but even he had cause to be equally furious at you. Although you temporarily enchanted him upon seeing you again, your sudden demand had reminded him of the abandonment he felt when you decided to leave that day. However, even if he tried to prove his anguish, he did not come here to drive you further away.
“Do not presume to command me.” He simply spoke, so arrogant in tone it made you steep further in anger. He could own the earth for all you cared, that did not give him the right to enter wherever he pleased.
With a sneer on your face, you tried to brush passed him. Straight to the kitchen to grab a towel and wipe down the mess you had blamed him for in your head. Part of you was still in shock at seeing him, and as much as the old feelings wanted to bubble up, you forced them back down.
“You have some nerve even coming here!” Your fury was unraveling, your broken heart placing all the blame on him even though you knew it wasn’t entirely his fault. You had chosen your path, but in your shock and dismay you could not find another outlet besides the Primary who seemed so calm and collected. It only added to the irritation you felt. If he had felt anything for you, he certainly wasn’t showing it now.
“Move.” Rudely, you bumped against his shoulder, making it a point to prove he wasn’t welcomed in your home. You got down to your knees, rubbing furiously at the coffee, and chucking the cup over to the trash can. There was a palpable silence in the air, the heat of both your anger simmering wildly.
Balem was not accustomed to being ignored, but you always had a way of putting him in his place. Not that he’d ever admit it, but the fond memory of your fiery attitude made him smirk. That bitterness he felt earlier, was slowly dying, and in its place he remembered why he came here.
“You do not belong here.”
You gritted your teeth at his comment, settling back on your thighs and finally working up the nerve to fully look at him. “I-“ But, you stopped, eyes widening when you found him clad in a black suit. You had never seen him look so…normal? That was it. Strange way of thinking, but it somehow made him more human to you now. You expected the usual: long intimidating cape, black leather boots and that domineering gaze he loved to wear. Instead you finally saw a man. Of course, you loved him, but in the most innocent of ways his appearance hadn’t caused you to feel inferior anymore. You had to wonder if he did that on purpose, but you guessed Balem would never be the type to comfort someone by lessening his own status in the world.
Either way, you were thankful for it. It made him human, and it dawned on you that if any other person could be civil and speak with an ex lover, why should it be any different for you? But, did he have to look so elegant and handsome in that? It made your stomach twist in knots, your adoration and longing for him pooling all together and causing a grief you thought you had forgotten.
“Why are you here?” You almost begged for an answer, a familiar heaviness returning to your heart.
Balem observed you carefully, jaw set tight as he fought to control himself. There had already been too much time lost, and even though he had no shortage of days in his life, he did not want to spend anymore of them apart from you. He could pretend your presence didn’t affect him, but that was slowly becoming more difficult to do. The minute your eyes landed on him, locking his gaze, it broke all resolve down. He needed you, wanted you, and nothing would stand in his way anymore. “I came for you, little bird.”
You saw his eyes soften, the truth in his words evident in the way he spoke. It warmed your heart, knowing he had likely been hurting the same way you had. The choice you made that day, it wasn’t one to be done lightly, but it felt the right thing to do. Coming back wasn’t easy to acclimate to, but you still forced yourself along everyday until you felt even an ounce of normalcy return to your life. You knew your love for him would never die, but wasn’t it wiser to push him away and not be ridden with guilt by the very actions his world was fine with.
“Balem,” It felt strange saying his name. Over the months you had trained yourself to avoid it. Even as it entered your thoughts, you’d quickly push it away. If only to save yourself the torture of your own foolish heart. “I told you then-“
“I am well aware of what you told me…and I will not apologize.” It was blunt, and it caught you off guard until he walked over to where you sat. He held his hand out for you, a stern look in his eye as you hesitantly took the offer. With a gentle tug, he pulled you to your feet, the tingle of his touch making you flush in embarrassment.
It had been so long since you felt his touch, and you’d be lying if you said you hadn’t longed for it on some nights. The proximity of him now, it only made you nervous that some foolish mistake would occur. It wouldn’t be the first time you caved to such a desire, even when you knew it would be best not to. So you pushed slightly at his chest, turning away from him and taking a seat on your bed. You hoped he hadn’t noticed, and even if he did, he had the small kindness of continuing the topic instead.
“I don’t regret taking my brother’s useless life. If you’re expecting some form of apology, you will never get it.”
“Did you come all this way just to rub this in my face?” It made you seeth with anger, seeing that unapologetic look on his features like he had just won some argument months in the making. You never expected him to feel remorse. That was, after all, one of the reasons you couldn’t be there anymore.
“I came here for you!” His hands slammed down on the mattress beside you, catching you off guard and making you wince back instinctively. You felt the warmth of his breath linger over your lips, his eyes show casing the rejection he felt at your accusations. He had leaned close to you, gaze journeying down your face and settling over your tempting pout. You were making it hard for him, and he wasn’t keen on this daunting task anymore.
“Titus would’ve killed you, do not pretend it would’ve ended in any diplomatic way. I hold no remorse for my brother, he meant little to me and I would gladly watch him die a thousand times over…if it meant protecting you.”
You found the strength to meet his gaze again, mouth going dry at the sheer anxiety you felt around him now. It felt so much like the first time he cornered you. The turmoil of uncertainty once again plaguing your thoughts. You wanted to pull him to you, kiss him madly and prove you truly did miss him, and wanted nothing else in life but the return of your affections. But, you were only human after all, and pretending he was some knight in shining armor wasn’t an option. “You shouldn’t have come.”
“Tsk!” Balem growled in frustration at your stubbornness, his point going ignored yet again. Could you be so dense as to not understand what you meant to him? He was not going to abandon who he was, that opportunity was long gone in his life. It was never a question of morality on his part, simply a means to an end when it came to keeping the few things he held dear, close to him.
He reluctantly moved away from you, gaze still fixated on the curve of your lips and those eyes he had grown far too enamored with. “This is foolish. Do you wish to pretend you want this life?” He gestured to the room, an annoyed expression on his face that made you scowl.
“What’s so wrong with it?”
“It is-“ He paused when he caught the offended glare you gave him. “Quaint.”
“Not everyone can become rich off the lives of others.” You reached down to your boots, unzipping one side and tossing them both to the corner of the room. He wasn’t entirely wrong, and sometimes things weren’t ideal for you. But, you weren’t in love with him for the life he offered you, he needed to understand that. “Did you ever stop to think you may have overly romanticized….this?” You pointed at him and you, trying to hide the pained look in your eyes. It was a terrible and unfair question to pose to him, because you knew it was as far from the truth as anything could be. But, he was pushing it, knowing if he fought hard enough you’d cave and be his again. Stolen away from this planet, and plunged once again into a world filled with deceit, murder and genocide. It was a miracle you saw through him to begin with.
Balem scoffed, hands clasped loosely behind him as he let his gaze tear away from you for a moment. He watched the city outside, a determined expression on his handsome features that made you hold your breath in worry. Had you offended him? Was your response so cold, it possibly ruined anything? It was hard to tell now, and you could only imagine being away from him for so long had caused a lapse in your knowledge of his mannerisms.
Thankfully, he did not keep you wondering for long. With a turn of his head, he set his sights on you, a bitter smile stretching over his lips as he made it clear he was not interested in childhood fairy tales. “I do not waste my own time, little bird.”
*** A/N: What could Balem be planning? 🤔 Don’t worry, it’ll all be clear next chapter. Thanks for reading. Sorry if it was dull at parts! I’m not overly fond of this chapter, for me it felt like a filler with necessary plot, but boring to do lol Thoughts?

I Need a Villain
I listened the “I need a hero” song when I painted this.
This is what I created from Balem Abrasax. If Caine Wise met with this Balem,he had not chance to defeat or bite him :)
Lord Balem got a magical sword,a predator space pegasus and can manage lightning and can make storms and rains(after ancient deity Baal).
I know that his arm isn’t in its right place, but he is an alien,OK?
I imagine myself as a heroine, who loves the bad boy of the story, but the protagonists want to marry me to the good boy,and the villain starts off and fights with the protagonists that he will can save me from the claws of the goods.Like in Shrek 2,but inversely.

She-slave's soul - a Confession about Balem Abrasax - part 1 of 3
* Malena is just one among the many sexual she-slaves of the powerful Lord Balem Abrasax, who spends her nights at his harem daydreaming with the opportunity of being requested to serve him, because she lives for it, and her entire being is devoted to please him, honor him and let him to use her the way her Lord and Master as well desires to. Because more than to herself, her own life belongs to him, and its sense and reason is her total submission to her powerful master. * Pairing: Balem x OC (Malena) * <I prefer Balem at his masochistic 50%, but today we have him at his dominator half, and we can say he's 100% heavy metal today, lol, wotz. Y'know, like, owner of the entire situation? So... Literally, hehehe. Well, I don't know very well to do the submissive woman, I think not, but, after all, I gave my best. Also literally. A kiss and call me> * * * Kneeled and with her head down beside the huge bed at the empty dwellings of Lord Balem Abrasax, with her long and dark hair all over her face, having her heart on her throat, Malena was awaiting for the dwellings' doors to finally open and bring her her Lord, Master and Owner to inside of the silent of the enclosure sweetly smelling of amber and musk, cause it there was yet a long time she feverishly awaited for the chance to be requested by him again. Because she was part of the Jupiter's harem, where Balem truly didn't spend most of his time, and also because the she-slaves there were too many, there was uncountable nights since the last time he had requested her. All the times that went to the harem the news that Lord Balem had landed in Jupiter, the women turned into a real commotion of the expectation of knowing who of them would be the chosen one, cause actually all of them wanted the honor of being that one to which he had remembered as he arrived, and every night, when mister Night appeared at the door with the keychain hanging on his little and albino nervous hands, Malena was just one of the many ones who used to lift up from where she was in the expectative of being called, and who got frustrated as seeing another one to be called in her place. At the last chance he had been in Jupiter Balem stayed there several weeks, and she haven't been called not even a single time; and it there was a long time since he had came to Jupiter. So, that morning, when the news that the particular crusader of Lord Balem was attaching at the docks arrived, she had thought she would maybe have an opportunity, but when Malena knew he would spend just a single night before his return back to Orous, with sadness she put away any hope she would have to be the chosen one. So imagine which it was Malena's surprise (and the general envy of all the other harem women around), when that night mister Night called her name at the door, nervously gesturing his hands into her direction for her to hurry up. The surprise Malena felt haven't abandoned her yet, actually, and as soon as Night left her there and just went away, Malena, in a servile way, although it wasn't required from her, she had placed her to wait on her knees for her Master, that it was, according to what Malena used to believe, the way a she-slave should wait for her owner. And she was still trying to control her feelings when the door did finally slid, opening itself, and she heard to sound around the light steps of Lord Balem, her heart discharging into her chest without that Malena could avoid it. And although he was coming in barefooted, without his boots, and due to that his steps weren't sounding around and secretly she prefered when he came wearing them, cause Malena nurtured by his boots a secret fetish, she quickly passed her tongue through her lips, feeling her hands to tremble while palmed over her thighs, as Malena more felt than heard his presence ahead of her, and she kept in the same position, including lowering her head even a little more, in a sign of respect. Without not even a little hurry of getting himself served of her, Malena listened as Balem messed in the fruit trays on the table and as he served himself a chalice of the wine that was there at the jar at its centre, and she noticed how he seemed to be drinking it standing still, cause the she-slave didn't heard no chair's noises around, her eyes closed under the long hair that was covering her face. And imagining if he would still delay some more to come and take her to himself, Malena was feeling to get the most tense second after second, being almost able to feel her blood flowing through the veins along of her body, but specially already flowing into its center's direction, to right between her thighs, to which the woman was already feeling to heat only due to the delicious smell of Balem that she could feel in the air, and to which Malena so well reminded since the last time. And she have awaited for so long. Malena have been brought still a virgin girl to Lord Balem some time ago, what have been made him to pursue some sort of fond for her at the beginning. But Balem was the kind of man to whom the news didn't use to get grip for so long, and soon Malena was relegated to the same level of the other slaves, what actually had annoyed her a little at that time. Balem was never tender to no one of them, although he wasn't a selfish lover in search of his own satisfaction only, but he was far from not even to seem to be affectionate to the woman who shared the bed with him, would this one be whoever she was; but as like Malena have never had another man her entire life, she had just as like created and nurtured some enchant for him in her mind, to don't say in her heart, and all Malena could say it was that she just used to love everything he used to do to her and the way he did it, could this be due to Malena just didn't know another way, or could this be that way because she was submissive in her essence. With a trembling the woman felt that he approached her, halting just ahead of her, and when Balem without a warning just ran the fingers of his right hand through her long dark brown hair, lifting up Malena's head in a single gesture, opening her eyes the woman panted, letting out a sigh, as she semi closed them as he bent her neck back. Towards and above the she-slave there was Balem, his smooth and sensual thorax resplendent in front of her eyes, entirely naked over his over low trousers and under his black cloak, and in a great ecstasy Malena slid along it her glance, Balem feeling intensely pleased about the way she looked at him with that veneration. And leading the bunch of purple-bluish grapes he had at his left hand to his lips and tearing off from it one of them without to take away from her his eyes and without to left her hair, after he have chewed and gulped it he whispered with his bass toned and paused voice: - Malena... The only one of my she-slaves who awaits for me on your knees... This pleases me - and he pulled between his teeth another grape from the bunch, chewing and eating it still very calmly, before to continue - It is exactly what I need to relax from the stressing business' reunion gathering I had today - and he looked at her at a length, who by now was looking at his face, and he asked - Want you a grape, Malena? Breathing through her spaced lips, Malena sluggishly blinked her eyes, enjoying the feeling of having him offering her something and, as the young woman could, she whispered: - If my Lord this way desires to give me one, I want it, Lord Balem. Giving her a slitted and sardonic smirk, Balem once more drove the buny of grapes to his own lips, tearing away one from there carefully with his teeth, and taking it between two fingers he lowered his left arm, and for an instant Malena thought he was about to put it inside of her mouth. But he just stretched even more his arm and just left the grape, letting it to fall to the floor between them, and leaving her hair just then, still with the same diabolical smirk in his face, he whispered in bass toned voice: - So if you want it, take it from the floor to eat it. Thinking nothing more that it wasn't the fact that the grape had been between his tempting lips for a second, Malena just lowered quickly to her both hands and caught it, driving it into her mouth with urgency and with pleasure starting to chew it, as she whispered, raising up again her face to him: - I thank you, my Lord. Smiling, he ruffled his free hand all over his she-slave long hair at a length and sluggishly before to whisper: - More than being a slave, you've got a slave's soul, Malena. Just as if you had been born to be one. - But I was, my Master - and getting down, she touched both of his barefoot white feet with her hands, descending her glance to them - I was born to be yours. I'm so grateful you choose me tonight - and Malena bent herself in front of him, kissing at his feet at a length, with her lips wet of desire, one then another, before to raise her face to look at him again with supplicant eyes, asking him - Let me show you my gratitude - and another time Malena kissed his feet - Tell me what do you desire, my Lord. Balem threw the bunch of grapes over the bed, and it floated in the antigravity field which was on and in function there, and he said with a harsh voice: - Your body, my she-slave. That is what I desire. - My whole body is ready to serve you, my Lord - she responded while trembling, the heat she felt at the bottom of her belly just growing. - Raise yourself up. And put me on naked. Quickly getting up Malena got up to her feet, her agile and trained fingers sliding along the neck collar of his cloak, removing it carefully and skillfully then to place it carefully on a high wing chair ahead. And as soon as the woman turned herself to Balem's young and white back and its angled musculature, panting in anticipation and expectation she didn't get to contain herself, sliding her hand palms through them, under such an ecstasy, making Balem to turn his face back to her, with inquisitor narrowed eyes and the corner of his lips retorted in a smirk, as Malena's hands descended from his back to his waist and from there to his thin buttocks. And then with both hands she put his golden pants down along his legs, kneeling down at his back to take it off from his feet, and before she lifted up again Malena gave him a soft and quick kiss over his left ass cheek, just then getting up and placing his pants along with the cloak. And lifting a hand very slightly he gestured into her direction to the young brunette to come and face him, as Malena obeyed, no words being needed to. Placing herself in front of him she put both of her hands on the stiffed musculature of his hips, gliding the tips of her thumbs along the line of the deep V it formed there, and that was enough to make her moan in pleasure, what in itself for extension gave pleasure to Lord Balem too. Placing his large hands on Malena's hips he pulled her into himself, softly rubbing his hips to hers while he was descending his hands over her butts, tightening it as he reached its ending, and she panted through her half opened lips as he began to bring his hands up through her back. And soon as he reached the low neck over it, Balem just twisted his fingers at one and another side of it with strength, tearing off Malena's dress in two with no warning, eliciting from her with it a loud sigh. And quickly he led his hands to her shoulders, roughly pulling the dress down, Malena's full breasts jumping free as they found themselves free from the tight fabric which was covering them until that moment, and seeing it, Balem passed his tongue through his lips, and ending to tear down the dress he finished to pull it away from over her body, and he commanded: - On your knees. Now. (To be continued...)

Dance With The Devil
(Balem Abrasax X Reader)
Inspired by a song called 'Dance With the Devil by Breaking Benjamin' listen to it before reading this and I think you might understand what this one-shot imagine is about.
(Y/n)'s POV
There was to be a ball in the Abrasax palace in Jupiter. And as the 'Ruler' of earth I had to go. "Master. Why do you look so blue?" William one of my Advisers asked me. "There is to be a ball at Lord Balem Abrasax Palace." I said wrinkling my nose. Even though I know so little of the said lord doesn't mean I haven't heard the rumors.
I would always send my man to go to the meeting for me since I get ill so easily. "Do you wish for us to go?" Jace asked causing me too look out the window of my Palace. "No. I think I'm strong enough to go." I said softly as I got up. "As you wish." Phil said as I turn to look at them. "Boy get change and get the ship ready." I ordered as they all bowed then left my room.
I quickly change into a dress and put on my masks. Even though it was just a regular ball I still felt the need of a mask. "Mistress your crown." I heard one of my handmaiden called out causing me to sigh softly before bowing my head to let them place the white crystal crown on my head.
"Thank you." I said softly as I gave them a small smile. "Can you tell the guards to meet me at the gate." I said as she looked at me confused. "Which ones Mistress?" She asked as she helped me walk out my room. "The heartless Guards." I said as Phil waited for me outside my chambers. "Right away Mistress." She said as she pass me to Phil before bowing her head and left.
"I hate when people treat me like that." I mumbled as I looped my arm around Phil's. "Like what master?" He asked with a small playful smirk causing me to glare at him. "Like I'm royalty. I'm just as equal to you all then anything else." I said with a small huff causing Phil to smile at me with adoration.
"And that why we all respect and love you master. You always put us ahead of you when you shouldn't. You always treated us as if where family when we ain't. And you would always share us your true words of wisdom which we all grown to love about you." Phil said causing me to smile at him as we walked down the long corridors.
"We are family. Blood or not. I well always care for you all because you all are like me children growing up so fast." I said softly as we made it to the bridge that lead to a small beautiful ship. "Mistress. You called us?" I heard a deep raspy voice said causing me to look up and smile at the large Wolf.
"I need you and the others to watch the palace for me. I'll be going to a ball. And nobody is allowed in no matter who or what they are. And if they insisted to come in then take them to the interrogation room and call upon me or William." I said as the wolf bowed his head. "Of course Mistress." He said as I went to go hug him.
"And please be safe. All of you." I said pulling away as the wolf nuzzled his large nose on me causing me to giggle. "Always." They said the disappeared I’m the shadows as I saw William, Jace, and Andrew at the Ship waiting for me. "The ship is ready Master." Andrew said causing me to smile at them.
Time Skip
"Mask on boys." I said softly as they did what there told. "I hope this is over quickly." I mumbled as we waited by the door. Then they stood around me like a guards William was in front of me, Phil is to my right, Jace is behind me, and Andrew is to my left. I smiled softly at the boys protectiveness over me.
Once the door opened we walked out in perfect sync as I felt people looking at me. "The Queen of Earth." I heard of of the guard yelled getting everyone's attention. "Just what I needed." I said as I held my head up high and walked to a corner of the room to set on and empty couch. "Your not dancing?" Andrew asked causing me to look up and him as I crossed my legs.
"There is no need to." I said softly as I saw some man looking at me with lust and excitement in there eyes. "I'm in a room full of pigs." I mumbled causing the boys to chuckle. "I shall get you some food Master." William said as I waved my hand at him.
William quickly left as Andrew sat next to me on my left, Phil to my right, and Jace sat on the floor in front with his back towards me. "Its so dreadfully." I mumbled as I run my fingers through Jace’s hair causing him to close his eyes and purr to my touch. "The Queen of Earth." I heard causing me to look up to see two men and one woman stand in front of me.
"Sadly yes." I said looking at them. "I haven't seen you in the meetings." The eldest looking man said causing me to roll my eyes at him. "Why go to a meeting filled with pigs who just want to use my planet." I said broadly as William came back with a drink of water and a plate of food.
"Master." William said getting the three attention as he pass the plate to Andrew and gave me the cup of water. "Thank you Will." I said as I gently grasp the cup. "Plus I have no need of your money. What the point?" I asked looking at them. "It only a game between you three. Two trying to kill the oldest just to destroy what he created and tried so hard to build." I said as my eyes meet the forest green ones.
"How." The youngest man asked as I glare at him sharply making him shut up. "The Queen knows all." Andrew said as I stop playing with Jace’s hair and took a sip of my water. "Why do you think she's the only one to rule earth?" Phil asked as Jace looks up at me with a pout. "Boys you go have some fun." I order as they hesitated a bit.
"I would like to talk with you Lord Balem." I said getting up and walking off as the boys walked around the room. "It amused me how you found no time to just kill your sibling so no more of your time is wasted." I said as I turn to look at Balem. “Like you said It’ll be just a big waist of time.” He said as I raised an eyebrow at him.
“Shall I have this dance?” I asked as I took out my hand for him to take. Balem smirked as He took me to the middle of the dance floor as I started to hum a song. “For a Queen of Earth you really are beautiful.” He said as I took notice of people staring at us. “Beauty is nothing to me. I’ve seen more at home.” I said softly as I placed my hand on his shoulder.
“I doubt that Little Bird.” He said as I intertwine our fingers. I just smiled as I continued to hum then started to sing softly.

(Dance With The Devil by Breaking Benjamin)
Here I stand, helpless and left for dead/ Close your eyes, so many days go by/ Easy to find what's wrong/ Harder to find what's right
I believe in you, I can show you that/ I can see right through all your empty lies/ I won't stay long, in this world so wrong
Say goodbye, as we dance with the devil tonight/ Don't you dare look at him in the eye/ As we dance with the devil tonight
Trembling, crawling across my skin/ Feeling your cold dead eyes/ Stealing the life of mine
I believe in you, I can show you that/ I can see right through all your empty lies/ I won't last long, in this world so wrong
Say goodbye, as we dance with the devil tonight/ Don't you dare look at him in the eye/ As we dance with the devil tonight
Hold on, hold on
Say goodbye, as we dance with the devil tonight/ Don't you dare look at him in the eye/ As we dance with the devil tonight
Hold on, hold on
I sang with as soft kind smile at I look at Balem. He picked me up and spines me around before gently placing me back down. “Goodbye.” I said bowing my head a little breathless. everyone started to clap as I felt Balem staring down at me as I smiled at everyone.
“You Majesty.” I heard causing me to let go of Balem’s hand and turn to see William. “What is it?” I asked softly as Balem stood close to me. “You have your appointment. We must leave or you’ll be late for your treatment.” He said causing me to look at him with a small frown.
“Appointment?” Balem asked as I turn to look at him with a shy smile. “There is a reason why I haven’t been able to go to your meetings. I am very ill.” I said as William went to find the others. “And the song you where singing?” He asked as he stood in front of me.
“Um...” I stumbled as I felt myself blushing. “It was just a s-song I he-hea-heard at h-h-ho-home.” I strutted as he grin at me and slightly leaned down towards me. “It’s called Dance with The Devil.” I added trying to look away only for him to place his thumb and index finger on my chin.
“Am I the devil?” He asked as I look deep into his forest green eyes. “I..” I started as I felt my whole face heat up. “I wouldn’t.” I said as I took his hand noticing he was very close to my mask. “I don’t need you to see me like this. I’m not pretty as the woman here. And I’ll never be.” I said to him as I saw a small glint in his eyes.
“Who said I want woman like them.” He said softly as I felt my breath get taken away. “You don’t won’t me. I won’t last long in this world. I don’t want to put you through so much because of me.” I said softly then moved away. “The ship ready Mistress.” Andrew said as I follow him quickly leaving Balem there by himself.

When she's in her period
(Guys, such my Good Gods’ weird requests, lol, but what can we do, I’m here to attend them, isn’t it? And yonder all of that, this is a life’s thing that actually affects a relationship, so, it actually makes some sense to talk about it). * * * Newt Scamander - He really doesn’t care about it, cause for him it’s something natural, and nothing that comes from nature impresses or constrains Newt. He, including, thinks it’s quite beautiful she has her period, cause her monthly cycle reminds him of fecundity, and he admires a lot the creation of life. And just in case of being everything ok for her, he’ll make love with her normally, as just like as if she wasn’t in her period, with no problem.
*
Antony Baekeland - Hmm, then, yet this one right here won’t not even want to pass close to her on these days, lol, and too, maybe, probably, he would mention her something about the need of bathing or using some perfume, in parts to annoy her, cause he gets amused doing this, preferring to keep the relationship of they two just at the kisses and hugs on these days, because, how could I say it? He’s not obliged… Lol
*
Lili Elbe - She’s that person who since her days as Einar used to get very touched when her lover was in her period, due to the discomfort that Lili imagines that it’s for her, with all of the caring that it demands and sometimes the colics and the headaches or even other things. And about the intimacies, Lili will prefer to wait it to cease, thinking that for her lover it would be just one more indisposition to try to do whatever that may be on these days already so naturally delicate.
*
Jack Jackson - Here it is another one who absolutely doesn’t care, and who just in case of his woman to try to impede him of doing something to her because of her state, just won’t comprehend to her reasons, looking at her with a dumbstruck look. But, after having making love in these days, he’ll want they both to take a quick bath, just to keep everything under some order.
*
Osmund - He has actually not much time to worry about this kind of things, given the fact that the chances they both get to have some intimacy are so rare that it wouldn’t be logical to lose a precious chance for so few. Nevertheless, he prefers not to look directly at her menstrual blood, trying to focuses his attention in any other thing, because, due to the fact that he just doesn’t comprehend very well what’s going on with her at these days, he gets a little impressed about.
*
Qwerty Doolittle - He’ll really prefer to wait the end of her period to restart having sex with her, not because he feels sickened of her at these days or nothing like that, cause he knows it’s something natural to her and so he respects it, however, personally, for him, the sight of blood in her isn’t a pleasing thing. He already handles a lot with blood all day long in his funeral home, and he ended relating it to dead people, so, it’s better not. At these days he’ll prefer to stay just pretty hugged to her, enjoying the heat of her body, cause he recognizes and values the sensuality that there are in these simple moments just being together.
*
Stephen Wraysford - Here’s another citizen who, although knowing it’s something very natural about her and who respects her a lot, never doing about nothing related not even an unpleasant comment, he’ll also prefer to wait her period to end, because he prefers to have not the vision of blood on her as well. Stephen will only take an exception and to make love with her at these days in case of being at the very beginning of this or at it’s ending days, when there’s almost nothing coming there, and only in case he’s really needy of her. But even then he won’t give her oral in these situations.
*
Marius Pontmercy - Actually, although it’s a great silliness coming from him, for Marius, at these days she’s kind of ill, lol, so he doesn’t let her do absolutely nothing and demands her to stay in bed all day long. And in case of being himself available, he’ll insist on to stay himself by her side all the time, bringing her tea and little biscuits, and at every minute he’ll place his hand on her forehead to verify if she’s not in fever. And although she laughs and says to him that his worrying is quite absurd, Marius won’t listen to her, continuing on her bed head, until it all gets the end.
*
Eddie Kreezer - Hmm, wotz, then, how to say that without to put the maids all in awe? Lol, he actually likes her at these days, and he’ll inclusively insist on having sex in these days, because of two basic reasons: First, cause it all being wet this way everything glides even better and, my Lord, cause he likes the general sight of all of that blood around, LOL, help, I can’t explain, but it’s like something wrong, something prohibited, something “dirty” (in the good way, the smut one), and Eddie gets crazy seeing all of that mess around, cause, let’s be honest that, having sex these days and moreover with the impetus to which mister Kreezer does it, it makes a great mess… LOL.
*
Balem Abrasax - Milord. So. Milord will wait it to cease as well. After all, what are four, five days, to someone who pursues practically the immortality just as him? Not to mention that the waiting time can be used in a sensual slow burn game, to which Balem will know to take into his advantage very well, teasing but never satisfying her until the point that, when being yet in her period anymore, she’ll be yet crazy in desire for him, and it’s when then Balem will finally harvest the sweet fruits to which he planted so patiently.

His Pet Names for You
Hmmmmm, here’s something about auntie here likes a lot to think about as well… Here we go:
*
Newt Scamander - Although of being shy, into intimacy Newt adores to talk and do a lot of fluffy and amusing little things. So he’ll call you “My little beasty”, “My little witchy” (if you’re a witch) or “My little muggle” (if you’re not, lol), but when he’s really entertained by what you’ve been doing, he’ll call you “Tasty”, “Glutton girl”, or “Keeny”.
*
Stephen Wraysford - In the bed (or at any other place you two would to make love, lol) he’ll call you “My love” when he’s more sweet, and “Delight” when he’s the most overexcited.
*
Marius Pontmercy - In the intimacy of the bed sheets of you both he’ll always call you “My love”, “My dearest”, “My beloved”, “Love of life”, actually anything that are traditional, amorous and fluffy.
*
Balem Abrasax - When he finds a woman very beautiful or kind of attractive, Balem always calls her “Perfection”, so he’ll certainly use this word for you, independently of the rest. Now, depending on the circumstances and situations, you’ll be called for him in the heat of the moment as “My she-slave” or “My queen”, cause Balem is a man of extremes.
*
Jack Jackson - He’s not much on pet names; truly, he’s not a great speaker, specially at intimacy. But if he would call you something, it would be your own name, which he finds beautiful, or just “Mine”, cause the feeling of possession over you arouses him.
*
Eddie Kreezer - If it remains some time in the middle of the tons of shamelessness things he speaks all the time while in the intimacies, he’ll add some pet names for you, that will always be “heavier” and the less fluffy or kind. He adores to take you dog style, and you can be sure that at this occasions he’ll call you “Little she-dog”, and if in case of you’ve being overexcited, it will be “My she-dog in the heat”. “Shameless girl”, “Bitch”, “Tasty" gonna be other words you’ll hear as well.
*
Lili Elbe - In intimacy Lili whispers sweet breathtaking praises… You’ll be called “My flower”, “My rose”, “Kitty”, or just “Love”, “Pretty”, “Loved”. I also imagine her calling her beloved as little fruits names, just as “Little cherry” or “Little strawberry”, which express how much you’re sweet… and appetizingly.
*
Qwerty Doolittle - He’s not of so many words in intimacy, very often demonstrating with a smile or with a curious touch the things he wants to express, but he calls you generally “Babe”, or “Love”. But sometimes, in the heat of the moment, he can call you “Doll” or “Little puppet”, cause for a long time he expressed his affection just for his marionettes. And when you finishes it, he calls you “Pretty”, cause the expression of pleasure in your face makes you pretty to his eyes. * * ***************************** * Wait, I liked the game. I wanted to be called here: “Glutton girl”, cause it defines myself; “Doll”, because, ah, play with me; “Delight” and “Perfection” is pretty good; “Love of my life” and “Shameless girl” just to vary a little is good as well, but… Jack! Scream to me, my boy: MINE, MINE, MINE! That I’ll scream back I AM, I AM, I AM! Ay… Wow. Ui. It’s over now. I’m sorry, people. I got very thrilled by now… LMAO By Jove, I made till a confession, lol
AMEN LORD BALEM!

I Would Do It All Again - an Imagine-Confession about Newt Scamander - part 2
You can read part 1 here:
https://ladybalem.tumblr.com/post/172710453493/i-would-do-it-all-again-an-imagine-confession
* SMUT ALERT: FLUFFY SMUT AS FAR AS THE EYES CAN SEE * * * (Continuing…)
Opening his eyes he seemed confused. You asked once again - Do you want it? - But, (y/n), I… I, well, ahn… I’ve never… - and he got suddenly red, and seeing this, you smiled, burying your nose at his cheek while saying: - To everything there’s a first time, mister Newt Scamander. And you kissed each other, while you began to unbuttoning his pajamas to in sequence to loosen your necktie and open up your own collar a little bit, cause your excitation was already putting you under a breathtaking, and as soon as you inclined yourself upon him, kissing his chest, you clearly noticed that soon Newt, your little Newt, was going to be about to be begging for more and letting his apprehensions behind. Without no hurry you covered his chest and abdomen with kisses and, when you finally came with your lips to his pants’ edge, you haven’t no more doubts, cause it was already visible that there it was something ready for you and, with a little smile, you threw yourself aside, laying down on your back and you called him to get over you, receiving him with an embrace. While lifting your sweater up, kissing your neck, Newt was breathing over your skin while letting little sighs came out, doing your heart absolutely melt for him, and when he threw himself with his lips over your breasts, you were delivered. Descending his hands through your thighs, he lifted your skirt up, but all of a sudden he stopped, seeming a little upset, and he sighed: - Well, I… I don’t know exactly what to do - and gave you a little smile, at what you helped him, placing his hands over your panties, and you requested: - Well, at first place take it off - and you smiled at him, who smiled back, and he obeyed, looking at you ravished for a while before to lay down over you again, who then said - And now… here - and taking your hands to his pajama pants you lowered it a little, revealing what it was there for you and, just don’t resisting at seeing how beautiful it was, you took it with both hands, making Newt to get choked at a sudden, what made you laugh, while bringing it to yourself and placing it at the right place, and you just said to him - Come! And with his eyes closed and a expression of pleasure at his beautiful face, he got in, and you received him with a lip biting, while pretty slowly he inclined his hips forward, until everything get adjusted, and he suddenly stopped, just raving at the delicious sensation of your body so smooth and warm, staying that way for a moment before to start to move again. And step by step Newt was taking the way, and taking velocity, while you were encouraging him in a kindly way: - Yes, my love, this way. Carry on, this way. And he lowered himself down next to your face, panting, and he asked you: - Is it pleasing this way? Caressing his hair at what your chests touched between, you moaned under a breath: - A lot, my love! - I… Oh… I want to please you. Wrapping him with your legs and bringing him closer to yourself, you said under a breath - You pleases me a lot. Contented, Newt smiled against your face, panting by now, while arching his spine to get down deep and come back, get down deep and come back - Is it pleasing this way, isn’t it? He was doing it in a way that he was making your nipples to rub against his chest at the rocking motion, and closing your eyes you responded, simply: - Hum, hum. Don’t stop… Sliding his lips over your chest, he little by little increased his rhythm even more: - How can you think that I… Uhn… don’t like you - he was choking while babbling these words, increasing the rhythm gradually - I… Ahn… I love you and… uhn… at the truth… you’re my most cherished and perfect little beast… Listening at these so intimate and sweet words you smiled, grabbing him to yourself, immersed in an intense pleasure, and soon Newt, with a long satisfying sigh, all of a sudden ceased all of his movement, crumbled all over you, who welcomed him happy, kissing on his forehead. - My love, you… Ahn… You’re fantastic - he then said to you, lovingly. And you both stayed embraced, in silence, just breathing and smiling, until a noise besides the bed put the both of you on forethought, and Newt lifted up his head that was until then laid on your shoulder, frightened, and he sighed: - What was that? The noise repeated once, at this time louder, and you opened your eyes wide, turning your face to the Newt’s creatures box that was at the bedside table, having just enough time to see it lifting up and inexplicably jumping in the air before to fall down aside to the floor, getting this way out from your field of view, and Newt simply jumped from over you, speaking loud: - What’s happening? But it wasn’t needed some more time for you all to discover it. It didn’t take more than a minute for the entire bedroom to be turned into a real pandemonium, with creatures of all colors and kinds and sizes running, jumping and flying around, while you was cringing yourself frightened while sitting on the bed and pulling down your sweater and skirt, and Newt was now running around, having had time just to pull his pants up, trying to recover them all to the box again while saying, a little despaired: - By Merlin, (y/n)! I should had left the lock open, while I was distracted talking to you! What will we do now? But you was looking at that confusion around you, not getting to have absolutely no idea about what could be done, just picturing it haven’t how to get into worse. But when the room’s door got open, cause Newt’s roommate have returned, the situation got, yes, to get into worse because, attacked by some of the creatures and frightened shouting at what he was seeing, the boy felt on his back, setting the door wide open, through which all of the Newt’s creatures made a scape in just an instant. And having no reaction you saw as at the outside of the door it was agglomerating there a little confusion of sleepy Hufflepuffs in pajamas who were awaken with all of the noise and got out of their rooms, and that by now were frightened and shouting too, frightening away even more the creatures away and awakening at each time more and more students, while you was seeing that without to believe, with wide opened eyes and opened mouth, starting getting red, and Newt was just looking at the scene in shock, his hands on his head, having no reaction…
*
The following morning the proposition of the expulsion of Newt from Hogwarts, because of not authorized pursuing of magical creatures, and of exposure of his colleagues to risk of injury was proposed, judged and accepted by the directory body of the school, to your full wide despair. It was all over; you were sure. You had to screw it all up, absolutely everything… You have ruined your love affair and ruined the life of that one you liked the most at this world, and you were feeling totally and simply worse at that moment, having even yet gone, in tears, to say to Dumbledore that the guilty was entirely yours and rogueing him to understand, but it was there nothing more he could do then, cause it was just already decided and done.
*
Crying, you went to farewell Newt when, with his done cases, he was waiting for the transportation to be sent away, and he looked at you seeming really confused for a moment while you were simply jostling the words, talking fast and nervously: - Newt, I… Forgive me! It was all my fault! Forgive me, please! I… I made it all wrong, I shouldn’t have stayed at your bedroom, I shouldn’t have spoke that about the creatures… Forgive me! I haven’t no intention, I swear! I just want… I just need you to forgive me, and that you don’t hate me for that, please! And you was truly despaired, talking and crying and gesturing with your hands, but he just cupped your face between his, making you that way to shut up, and looking inside your eyes he told you very pausingly, so you could understand: - (y/n), listen. It wasn’t your fault. It just happened. I… I love you, truly, and I’ll wait until it come your holydays so we can met again out there, as it won’t be possible here. I’ll wait for you. - But don’t you want to break with me? - you asked, feeling all of a sudden under perplexity - I was thinking you were angry with me! I… I ruined your life, Newt. - To break? - he kissed your lips that were salty by your tears, and he was smiling - I’ll wait for you. Wait for me. And… - he kissed then your forehead - you didn’t ruin anything. Life has just begun, I well know it. Calm down. I don’t want to see you suffer this way. Everything is going to be fine! Still crying, but by now of joy and release, you were looking at him without to believe that much Newt was wonderful. And still cupping your cheeks he did then your foreheads to touch between, and in sequence he confessed you, talking under a breath, but full of conviction: - And, do you know? I don’t regret nothing. I… I would do it all again! * * ***************************** * MY CONFESSION TO PRIOR PHILIP (major monk of my Church of Delights): Yes, I wrote a smut-imagine that, if rated under the prism of my actual age, it characterize some kind of… Lol , my gods, it’s a sixteen year old Newt… But… prepare me my strawberry at the Garden of Delights, because, making a citation of himself, I don’t regret nothing. I would do it all again!
AMEN, LORD BALEM!

Show me Gratitude - a Confession about Balem Abrasax
*
SMUT ALERT - SOME GRATEFUL SMUT AS FAR AS THE EYES CAN SEE
*
Pairing: Balem x OC (Mirage)
*
Mirage is a young woman who’s at Jupiter, any day in the distant future, the only and one survivor of the harvesting of her planet, the only and one specimen of her race, spared by the egoism of Balem just to attend exclusively to his interests…
* * * - I have got something for you - said Lord Balem, standing off some steps away, negligently throwing his cloak to aside, that slightly beat snapping in the air, almost as a whip, while giving some steps into the doorway - Something you asked me some time ago - and he pressed the button behind his right ear, while saying - Mister Night, bring me the animal which was brought early morning. Listening to the word “animal” Mirage felt suddenly fascinated, because some time ago, in an occasion in which Lord Balem had offered her to ask a gift, saying her could choose whatever she wanted (absolutely anything in the universe that she could desire to have), that he would provide it to her, she had chosen, for Balem’s entire perplexity, just a pet, because Mirage actually still used to feel very much alone in certain moments in her bedroom, and certainly to have a pet it would fulfill that need of company of hers, without to mention it would be pleasing to have a life that would depend on her and to which she could to care of. And although he found her request strangely simpleton and purposeless, Lord Balem fulfilled his word, bringing to his favorite she-slave what she requested of her desire. With a brief flash of happiness Mirage saw mister Night to enter into the dwellings carrying a box on his arms before to halt for taking something like a half bow into Lord Balem’s way, that was just what the box he was bringing allowed him to do, and suddenly his squeaking voice sounded: - My Lord Balem. The specimen seems specially healthy and vigorous; among all of them that we found, this was the one which had as well the best coloration and total aspect. Balem looked at him with a profound boring stamped on his face, and he just lifted a hand, waving him very slightly, while turning his face aside. Without getting to contain herself, Mirage gave two steps into mister Night’s way, her eyes fixed on the box, barely getting to hold on herself, leading both united hands to her chin, anxiously wanting the box would be soon opened up and that it soon revealed her awaited gift, while Balem disinterestedly was going towards his high throne at the centre of the dwellings, while saying: - Deliver it to her, mister Night. And only then the strange little man with noisy voice opened the box’s cork, taking the small animal by its belly, taking if off from inside there as he stretched it to Mirage who, seeing what it was, stood paralyzed for a while, without getting to have the reaction to stretch her hands to take it, and the smile slowly vanished off her face. When Mirage have said “pet” to Lord Balem, she have imagined a cat or a dog, even a bird or even a small rodent, but never that thing. Undecided for a while Mirage turned into Balem, asking him with a tiny evanished voice: - But, my Lord… A… lizard? Throwing his cloak with a bored gesture to aside, Lord Balem sat down at his throne in a disinterested way and crossed his legs, leaning one of his elbows at its lateral arm, and he said simply: - Of all the animals I saw, this was the one I found the quite interesting. All the others were… too much sentimental ones. Slowly Mirage turned again her eyes to the animal lifted in front of her standing on the hand of mister Night and still stretched into her direction, finding it at the minimal ugly, to don’t say unpleasing, while in reality Mirage noticed her desire of having a pet to extinguish for whole as she was looking at that, and the she-slave didn’t no movement to take it. Noticing that there was something wrong, mister Night made his irritating voice to sound under a breath and very respectfully: - My Lord, what should I do with the specimen? Mirage looked at the lizard one more time and got a fright as it stretched out his long red bifurcated tongue as a snakes’ one into her direction, and she slightly cringed herself before to turn her face back to see Balem, who raised a hand to mister Night vaguely indicating with it to her back, and Mirage didn’t comprehend until the little man to come closer from her some steps, rising up the lizard, that was more or less a medium cat’s size, into the direction of Mirage’s left shoulder, and she cringed herself. - Mistress. It won’t do you no harm - said Night as he was placing the lizard over her shoulder and she trembled in dread as she felt its cold paws on the naked skin of her back. - Lord Balem - Mirage moaned - Is this really necessary? - It was you who asked me an animal, Mirage. Now stay with it. With her eyes tight shut and constricted face, the girl hadn’t the courage to open her eyes again, trying to get accustomed with the cold feeling of the animal over her skin, unconsciously opening her hands wide and spreading her fingers, her arms stretched along of her body. - May you go now, mister Night - Mirage listened Balem’s voice, and in sequence Night’s one and his steps and he was getting away: - My Lord; as you allow me. Standing in place she didn’t move until she heard Lord Balem raising a little his harsh voice as he impatiently said: - Come here. Let me see it. Still with her eyes closed and her hands and arms in the same position, Mirage turned into his way, internally recriminating herself for haven’t been the most specific in her request; but right now it was too late. Some times Mirage seemed to forget when she was dealing with Balem that she wasn’t talking to an earthling, that he was actually an alien from another planet, and because of that their minds and by extension their communication were never perfectly aligned, and it was needed to be the more specific about certain things. And accepting her own guilty for what that have happened, Mirage slowly opened her eyes and looked at Balem, who was seeming so amused for seeing her at that situation, just in case that wry face of his could be taken for a smile and, as soon as his she-slave did it, he moved his hand into her direction, calling her this way to get closer. She obeyed him, giving the steps that missed for her to foot the three large stairs which lifted up his throne from the ground level, and at a length Balem observed it over her, two paws at her back and another two on her shoulder, its big head from which it sometimes emerged, to her disgust, its long and bifurcated tongue, before to observe his slave, with scrutinizing eyes; and what he was thinking at that very moment it was an absolute mysterious secret for Mirage, who would never be able to guess it. Slowly he approached a hand from his own lips, softly rubbing on them his fingers, with his eyes fixed upon her, and he asked, all of a sudden: - Are you satisfied about your gift? Slightly cringing herself, Mirage thought if she should be sincere or not at that delicate moment, but she ended opting for being diplomatic: - I promise I’ll try to accustom myself to it, Lord Balem. Without to alter his expression, Balem remained in the same pose, observing and thinking for some more time, before to say: - I think that it maybe will be for you just as like myself: Scaring and causing you a bit of repulse at the very start, but in a little time you will be sliding your hands through it, under an absolute pleasure. With no words to respond to that, unconcerned Mirage felt to slightly tremble, but Balem, staying impassive, once again calmly gestured his hand into her direction, mutely commanding her to get closer this way, and she quickly slightly lowered herself to take and lift up the hem of her dress, getting up the three stairs, placing herself very close to him who, not yet satisfied, gestured again, at that time to her to lower herself and, a little awkward, arranging the dress once more, Mirage kneeled in front of her Lord and Master who, quickly, stretched his body ahead, putting out his back off from his very rich throne’s back, stretching his right hand, with which he slightly touched the lizard’s head, while seriously looking at it, before to touch at her jawline then, and she softly lowered her eyes as soon as he deviated his glance to her. - Why don’t you try to start doing it right now? - he said, indicating Mirage with a gesture the animal’s head over her shoulder. Still reticent, she raised her left arm and hesitated before to touch it, but she ended on doing this, in a very shy way, but soon Mirage perceived it wasn’t as bad as she had imagined, although it was very far from being pleasing. Observing her to caress the animal, Lord Balem was gazing at the young and pretty woman very seriously, pausingly breathing, with that sphinx expression of his, before to once again lead his fingers to the side of her face. Soon his fingers were sliding all over through her jawline and chin before to slide on her lips, and soon Balem whispered to her: - Are you grateful to myself, my Mirage? She swallowed, actually didn’t getting to respond. He awaited for a moment, but as she didn’t rise him her glance and not even responded him, he placed his fingers under her chin and did Mirage to raise her face, very slowly, until their eyes to met between, and at that time whispering still the most under a breath, he repeated his question, with his face next to hers as he inclined himself over Mirage even more and she felt over her his warm exhalation: - Are you grateful? - I am, Lord Balem - Mirage bobbled, slightly stammering. Standing himself back as he once again reclined on the back of the throne, Balem said in a simple and plain way: - So then show me your gratitude. For a little while Mirage felt confused, don’t comprehending what he intended to insinuate with these words, while her hand, seeming to be automatic by now, was keeping on caressing the cold head of her pet lizard, and the glance she launched over Balem instructed him about her lack of comprehension about what he have said, and so he just uncrossed his legs, spreading them wide, gesturing her to take place between them. And suddenly comprehending it all, Mirage intended to get up, while saying: - Lord Balem, as you allow me, I’m going to put the animal in another place… - but he interrupted her as placing a hand of his over the hand in which Mirage was leaning on his throne to get lift up, taking the girl by her wrist with strength. - No. I want you this way. The simple thought gave Mirage repulse, but she took a deep breath, giving two “steps” to aside with her knees, and she entered into the space between the Lord Balem’s long legs and leaned upon them with her hands for a while, still displeased about all of that situation; but he suddenly raised both hands and held her head, completely lifting up her long hair so it wouldn’t to molest, with this movement scaring the lizard, that gave three steps, running to the middle of Mirage’s back, and she got a brief shiver of dread as she felt it entirely over her naked skin, closing her eyes for an instant. Calmly inclining himself over the girl as he was holding all of her hair in a single hand, with the other one Lord Balem took the animal, putting it back on the original position, just as like if he was desiring to see its grotesque head as it pointed his tongue against Mirage’s skin from time to time, and Balem softly touched it with his fingertips before to return to lean himself back, as he said: - Now show me. Slowly Mirage moved off from his thighs and led her hands to his golden and smooth fabric trousers, which revealed the most than used to hide what was under it, as it draw to sight all the volume that was under, and Mirage took it between them, kindly tightening it, feeling it to gradually increase, and she lifted up her eyes to his face, who was looking her from above, being now serious, with narrowed eyes and breathing by his mouth. Slowly then Mirage lowered his trousers down, without to take away her glance from his, who was fixedly looking into her eyes, and then the young she-slave took his length between her hands, sliding it with no urging between her fingers. But soon Balem deviated his eyes way down, clearly commanding her through it to lower herself, and so she did it, opening her lips and receiving it between them, and his long fingers that were holding her hair all of a sudden grabbed her with more strength, and she wasn’t able to see it by now, but Balem was panting by now, very slowly deviating his glance from her head to the head of the lizard over her shoulder. - Show me the gratitude you’ve got for myself, sweet Mirage - whispered him - You owe me too much of it for I have gifted you with a so beautiful animal; show me how much you are grateful. And Mirage was descending her lips over him slowly at first, to increase the impulse little by little, and being held by her hair with more strength then, Mirage listened at the bass toned and whispered Lord Balem’s voice to come to her ears after some time, while she was still keeping on doing what she was doing to him: - And it is absolutely magnificent, my beautiful Mirage, the way your beautiful mouth tells much more through actions than through words… - a moaning of pleasure obliged him to a short pause at that point - I clearly see as you, deep inside, are very much pleased by your animal pet, although you had not admitted it verbally. * * **************************** * MY CONFESSION TO PRIOR PHILIP: If Lord Balem offered me a beautiful pet lizard as a gift, I would be as well very grateful, and I would demonstrate a deep gratitude for him. Very deep. Truly. The deeper than my gratitude, only Linda Lovelace’s gratitude, cause, well, She’s the most “grateful” woman who there are on entire Earth.
AMEN, LORD BALEM!

A/N: Really this was just an excuse to write a bit of a smutty piece for my fave daddy. Inspired by talks with @jackdawsonsgrl , I don’t even remember what we were talking about specifically…
MOOD MUSIC: Silent Night by Svrcina
***
Passion was a very dominating sensation, often bringing those it victimized to their knees in an uncontrolled fury. You were no slave to it by any means, but it was a difficult thing to deny when those heavenly green eyes chose you as their source of interest. To pretend you didn’t care would be a waste, because you were so far intrigued by the notion of holding Balem Abrasax’s eye. Especially when all the noble women would be in attendance of this ball.
“He’s been staring all night.” Your friend chimed in, a knowing smile on her red lips as she nudged your arm. Every woman in this palace wanted his attention, but you were deemed lucky enough to have it. You weren’t an easy person to woo, but that glare of his was working wonders on your senses. It’s like he was ravishing you in his thoughts, bringing you to completion in multiple ways that left you positively breathless for more. You had an inkling that he handled his women like his business, thoroughly and with pleasure.
“He’s just shopping around. Trying to find the prettiest gem in the store.” Without a doubt, you knew men well enough to understand their carnal desires. Balem was not a man to waste his precious time, he used it wisely and that even included his romantic dealings. If he wanted you, he’d pursue you, and you planned on reaping the rewards of the chase tonight. “Look at him, he’s practically bedding me with his eyes alone.” You smirked at your friend, eyes teasingly drawing Balem closer until he was at the bar, taking slow sips of his drink that he had been nursing for the night. “I can’t deny that he’s quite handsome…” You lifted your wine glass up, trying to ignore his stare, anything to rile the Primary up.
“He’s more than handsome. Go talk to him.” She pushed you gently forward, her own excitement of possibly holding the Primary’s attention getting the best of her. You barely knew him, save for the gossip that floated about the parties and dinners you attended. He was well off, eldest of 3, and was about as cruel and calculating as rulers came. That didn’t turn you off of him though, if anything, his power was a royal intrigue worth knowing.
“Something tells me he’s a man who always gets his way…” You tilted your glass up to your lips, letting your lipstick stain the rim as you once again found his gaze. “I wouldn’t want to play into that just yet, where would be the fun?”
“You’re just as much a tease then, Y/N.”
“Maybe.” You smirked down at her, deciding it was now or never whether to string the Primary along. He may rule half the universe, but getting you to spread your legs wouldn’t be an easy task. The men you chose to invite into your chambers worked hard for it, and Balem would be no different. You’d watch him eat from the palm of your hand, before letting him have his way with you. “I’ll be back.”
“Where are you going?”
“Somewhere more private.” You smiled coyly at her, winking before descending down the steps of the palace. This entire alcazar belonged to some rich prince of this galaxy, but that did not mean you couldn’t utilize its more private quarters to your benefit. Balem likely held some influence over the royal anyway, and knowing him he’d follow shortly after your departure. His obvious interest in you strong enough to carry him away from the party.
“Excuse me.” You avoided the other guests scattered on the lower levels, merely offering them sweet smiles, and small talk. There wasn’t anywhere in particular you were heading, but you figured your legs would carry you right where you needed to be.
As you slid through the crowds, you felt this familiar excitement, one that caused the hairs on the back of your neck to stand. It was thrilling to say the least, knowing that his presence alone was enough to garner such a response from you. You can only imagine how wonderful it must be to finally pick that forbidden fruit and fulfill every craving of yours.
With one last turn around the corner, you found yourself stranded on a balcony, so far away and alone in this grand hall that there was a slight fear within you. Perhaps that was the frenzy of your emotions piling up, but you were eager to move this little game of chess along. You had made your move, and by the sound of the soft but assured footsteps down the hall…Balem had just made his.
“You’re not very subtle, my lord.” Your breath carried over your wine stained lips, mixing with the soft breeze that flew outside the alcazar. Suddenly everything, every movement, became so distinct in nature. It was overwhelming, but you would not cave to his appeal so quickly.
“Subtlety is for the craven.” Balem easily fired back, stopping by your side as he drew a sip of wine from his glass. You tried your hardest to ignore his company, if only to draw a more eager response from him. The mistake would be letting yourself gaze upon him again, in all his dignified glory. He was surely the most handsome man you set your eyes on, and ogling him only proved to disrupt all sensible thought within your mind. The only detail you could comprehend was that of your own heart beating wildly in your chest.
“Or,” You weakly cleared your throat, suddenly under some spell of his, or possibly your own, doing. That strength and resolve you felt earlier seemed to be waning, and you figured it was the proximity you now had with this enigma of a man. “Perhaps women prefer men to take their time…”
Balem scoffed in amusement, leaning casually back into the pillar he was near as he judged you silently with his eyes. He couldn’t immediately decipher what exactly you wished from him, but he knew women enough to gauge their more lustful desires. The way you stood, so stiff and feigning contempt towards his company, he could tell just how deep that need to bed him went. He allowed his eyes to trail down your exquisite features, tracing your jawline and admiring the way your lips puffed out in your vain attempts to mask your arousal. It amused him to no end, but in truth, that little fight you put up heightened his want of you. “I know when to take my time, and I know when not to waste it. So tell me, my dear…” Balem’s tone grew dark, layered in flirtation that sent you reeling. He pushed from the pillar, cape falling from his arm and draping to the ground in its black and silver brilliance. “Am I wasting my time?”
His salacious grin stole your breath, making you realize this battle of dominance you started wouldn’t be so easily won. It was a mistake to even think such a thing, because of all the men you heard of in high court, Balem was the one most women yearned for and most men feared. He would not be timid, weak-willed, and he’d prove himself a fine lover. The problem was, you didn’t cater to many men, and you always felt them equal to you, if not below. Balem, however, was the first to unsettle your nerves in such a manner. “I really couldn’t say, my lord.” You tried to sound confident, but with each step he drew closer you felt your resolve breaking. From far he seemed so untouchable to you, like a myth only spoken of for the sake of entertainment. It was the reason you felt so inclined to seduce him, but having him so near…it dawned on you how very real this man actually was.
“What happened to that fire in your eyes?” He smirked, clearly enjoying the effect he had on you. “I was fond of it, now you’re just as dull as the other women who vie for my attention.”
It shouldn’t be possible for a man’s arrogance to be so attractive, but the way those words slipped from his lips made you fight the pathetic moan in your throat.
“Does that ego enchant women into your bed, because it certainly doesn’t mesmerize me.” Aroused or not, you would never let him walk over you, even if his display of egotistical charm made you want to fall into his arms.
Balem hummed in obvious approval, noting that spark of feistiness burn again in your beautiful gaze. He was transfixed by it, just another reason you managed to catch his eye up in the ballroom. You were a heavenly creature to him already, with your curvaceous figure, tempting pout, and legs that showed through the slits of your dress. He wanted nothing more than to feel them wrapped around him in pleasure, your body pressed against his and breath panting out his name. Every detail of your existence provoked his undivided attention, but that flame in your eyes is what truly did him in. To see a woman like you utterly dominated, he’d be so thrilled to have that honor. “There it is. Such a strength in you.” He gracefully took the wine from your hands, setting both your glasses down on the table nearby. He seemed intent on winning your favor, and truthfully, he was doing wonderfully. “To see it break, to watch you cave to the whims of your lover…I imagine it’s a lovely sight.”
He dared to move closer, covering any chance of escape you might’ve had. Not that the idea ever struck you, this meeting was more pleasant than any festivity going on above. “No ones ever had the pleasure, my lord.” You licked your lips, bringing forth the determination you felt before. Even if Balem had a hold on you, you realized now you had some leverage of your own.
“It’s a shame.” Balem whispered, his palm pressing into the stone wall behind you, free hand boldly grasping your hip. Whatever this was, whatever it came to be, you no longer cared for the details. You merely wanted to begin this dance, because the closer he got, the hotter your body felt in its throes of passion.
“Then be the first, my lord.” Your lips brushed his ear as you leaned forward, coquettish grin on your features as you pulled away and watched that delighted gleam in his eyes. That would be the end of your seductive courtship, because the second you dared to move away, he descended on you like a ravenous beast starving for its prey.
His lips were warm in their touch, fingertips dancing along your curve until they came to rest on your lower back. Balem was devoted to you now, even if in your impassioned affair, he would do all he could to bestow every pleasure on your willing body. Nothing brought him more joy than watching you crumble before him in your state of unbridled need.
“Oh, gods…” Your breath hitched, neck tilting back when he bit softly at your pulse, trail of kisses now venturing further over your fevered skin. It was shameful to admit, but even with past lovers, nothing came close to feeling as wonderful as his simple kiss. Each one he planted along your body made you thirst for more, and the lower he went, the harder it was to keep quiet. “Don’t stop…”
Balem clicked his tongue in playful disbelief, because surely you didn’t think he’d stop his descent on your body. How could he? There was so much to explore along your sinful figure it delighted him to no end. “Did I not make myself clear before, sweet little bird?” He chuckled between kisses on your chest, happy you chose a low neckline to entice men’s gazes tonight. “I know when to take my time.” He caressed the curve of your breast with his plump lips, tip of his tongue barely peeking out to taste the fine flesh beneath. It was smooth to the touch, awakening his more primal senses and causing a groan to escape him. The only thing better than partaking in that intimate action, was hearing the breathless whimper you let out.
“Balem-“
He smiled devilishly, dragging his lips back up your throat and brushing them over your parted ones. “Say it agin.” He all but demanded, still lingering close to your lips as if to tease you into a claiming kiss.
“Then do something to make me say it.” He would not be rewarded for simply being magnificent, you promised yourself that, and if he wanted to hear his name fall from your lips…well, you expected a little something in return.
“Aren’t you a delight.” He growled back to you, though you could clearly see how arousing he found your request to be. He may like his women at his mercy, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t find temptation in one who battled his control. “Very well…” Balem closed the distance between your mouths, his tongue immediately pushing passed your lips and seeking yours in a sensual dance. It massaged erotically over your own, making you moan happily into his mouth and shamefully rub against him like some creature in heat.
The minute he pulled away, you found yourself already missing his kiss, but how could you whine when those expert fingers slid between your bodies. Finding their path down your chest and stomach until they seemed content below your navel. He teasingly traced around it, causing ripples of pleasure to shoot south and warm your insides. It made you squirm weakly, but the more he did it, the more you wanted to push him onto the table behind him. “Lower.” You nudged him, hoping he’d stop this madness and give you what you wanted.
“Beg me, you feisty little thing.” Balem encouraged you, albeit in a frustrated manner that left you smiling. He seemed pleased by the fight, but he was no doubt already itching to be inside you as well. If that bulge in his pants was anything to go by.
“Is that what all your lovers do? Hm? Grovel at your feet for some form of intimacy?”
Balem eyed you curiously, the start of a smirk playing on his lips when he stopped at your heaving chest. You could tease, bite back and judge him all you wanted, because the evidence of his effect on you was in front of him. There was nothing more he needed, because that was advantage enough in his favor. “Most do.”
“Well, I-ahh…” Your words trailed into a soft moan, hips bucking forward when his fingers slipped divinely over your thigh and under the slit of your dress. “I don’t think…” Pants of broken words were all you could muster, between his talented fingers and soft caress of kisses, it was difficult to even think straight. “You’ll find that here, my lord…” Even through the pleasurable sensations, you managed to snap at him, awaiting his response in the form of more torturous affections. It was as if he already knew your body, finding every patch of skin that responded eagerly to his brief, yet exciting, touches. Trying to sustain your composure against the wall was becoming harder, and as he rubbed over your clit through your panties, that would be the end of that battle. Your back arched from the stone, hands grasping at his black leather tunic in your fit of ecstasy. You wondered, momentarily, how one man could cause such a satisfaction within you. It was almost unfair how easily he could tear apart your resolve and bring you to nothing more than a puddle of moans and whimpers.
“It seems I already have.” Balem smirked proudly, watching in contentment as you writhed against the stone and into his hand. He felt the desirous heat of your sex, pulsing madly against his palm as he rubbed and massaged your clit. If he had no sense of control or pride, he’d of pulled that offending material of your undergarments aside and taken you. Hard and fast, if only to see that confident woman break before him, to bend under his will. Until then, he was more than capable and willing to supply you with a dose of bliss like none had before.
“Is this what you had in mind when you came down here?” He hotly whispered into your ear, licking over it sensually as you keened out for more. “Did you think you’d bewitch me into your chambers? That I’d blindly follow and grant every one of your desires and commands?” His breath of a laugh ghosted along your skin, causing chills to shoot over your body. It took all you had not to mumble a curse to him, because the pathetic truth was, you had believed this entire event was going to work in your favor. That every detail was yours to choose and create, but Balem had stolen that from you. You were completely, and utterly, under his servitude. “How wrong you were.”
You clutched his shoulder, digging your nails into the fine leather as another wave of bliss wracked your body. It was frustrating to feel so helpless with him, but somewhere, some part of you was positively in awe of it. “Do you a-always, mmm…”
Balem’s finger ran along your slit, admiring how wet your panties had gotten. He didn’t even need to move them to feel just how desperate you were for more, but he’d be lying if that knowledge hadn’t caused a craving to taste you for himself.
“Talk this much?” You finally got out, praying silently that he’d get the hint and just ravish you now. His teasing was far too much by this point, and if he kept this little game up you’d whine and begin begging to the point of regret.
“If you learned your place, I wouldn’t have to.” Balem was driven by the fight of dominance between you both. Even when he could so clearly see his victory in sight, he still found pleasure in the way you denied him. So unlike the many women he bedded, where they quickly succumbed to him and spread their legs with an eager nature. They were still satisfying to lay with, but you had gained his respect and attention now. He was only ever going to want a woman like you, or perhaps even just be content with taking you as his lover. “Are you done then, with this foolish game of yours?”
You gasped into his neck, burying your face into his shoulder and trying desperately not to give into the sensations just yet. He was thriving off your suffering, you knew that, but having a man so easily take ahold of you…there was nothing like it. The submissive part of your personality was absolutely joyous, already celebrating how tenacious Balem was. To give in now though, after so much thought, you simply could not end it there. “No…”
It was the answer he expected, and one that brought him a pleasure he was happy to have. He was proud of you, oddly enough, because that unyielding firmness of yours set him off in ways that he’d adore to show you. “Good little bird…keep that up, and I may reward you for it.” With furtive fingers, he pressed on, sliding your garment aside and finally granting himself the indulgence of your wet heat.
“Balem!” You scratched unashamedly at his clothing, gently lifting your leg to wrap around his waist when he inserted his fingers. He explored slowly, torturously so, but you still couldn’t help the euphoria that took you. It wouldn’t be long before you caved to the pleasure, especially when he anchored his fingers inside and massaged greedily at your sweet spot. He was hellbent on watching you scream his name, and when he pressed down harder you all but lost your train of thought. “Ah!”
“You are a vision…” Balem groaned deeply in want, head falling against your shoulder as he tried to will away the ache of his erection. There was no chance he’d allow himself to fulfill every part of his appetite for you, because there was no fun in granting all your needs quite yet. He’d string you along, give you what you needed right now, and then walk away to see you come crawling to his alcazar for more. He rather enjoyed the chase, and knowing you’d provide him the perfect one, he was looking forward to this twisted relationship you had taken up. “Tell me how much you want this. Enlighten me.” He grinned over your flushed skin, nipping delicately at your shoulder and neck. It left behind small bruises, giving the world a taste of who you had just committed immoral acts with.
“I-“ You tugged him closer, hands drifting over his strong muscles, and down to his backside where you so graciously cupped his ass. Every fiber in you longed to feel that swollen need of his pressed into you, but he would not budge for once. He seemed pleased by your needy actions, but he only chuckled in mild entertainment, his hand slipping from the wall to collect around your thigh that hung at his hip.
Balem’s hand held violently onto your leg, his fingers speeding up their thrusts and bringing you to a complete halt of any sane thoughts. Your body stiffened against him, mouth hanging open in a silent scream when he bit down on your throat, once again proving his claim over you. In your rapture nothing else seemed to matter now, and even when he slipped his fingers out and turned you harshly around you paid little mind to it. As far as you were concerned, Balem could do as he pleased from here on out.
“You’ve no idea how beautiful you sound, do you?” Balem nuzzled along the nape of your neck, taking in the heavy scent of your perfume and sweat that mingled perfectly together. He slid his slick fingers up your side, sweeping them over your open front and trailing your own juices along your bare skin. There was something animalistic about it, but it only served to entice you both into another bout of passion. “You’ve only sampled a taste of what I can give you,” Balem lustfully spoke, lips peeling away from your ear as he brought his fingers to your lips. Your lipstick was smeared over your mouth messily, giving you that tantalizing glow he found impossibly attractive in a woman. “I hope to see you again soon, sweet little bird.” He smirked one last time, tracing his coated fingers over your lips and allowing you to taste yourself on them. He reluctantly withdrew from you, trying to ignore how delightful it felt to have your backside pressed against his clothed cock. But he would leave it at that for now, merely taking tonight’s memory with him and using it as leverage to seduce you further into his bed. “Do not disappointment me.”

You could never imagine Balem being the jealous type. After all, who could possibly ever come close to him? He had everything any man and woman could ever want in life, and you wholeheartedly believed that. There were even times you wondered why he’d choose somebody like you. Considering all those who were more than willing to throw themselves at his feet in worship. You, on the other hand, were a thorn in his side for most of his long life. Perhaps, love and hate were strikingly similar after all.
“You’re jealous.”
“Tsk.” He grumbled between gritted teeth, eyeing the other lord who would have the gall to so much as gaze upon you. He would’ve had his head just then, if not for your amused expression. “You can bed whoever you wish.” Balem spat back, chugging his wine and looking away darkly. It was obvious how he felt, but that stubborn pride would never outright say it. And though his words stung a bit, you opted to play around with the Primary for his attitude.
“I see.” With a roll of your eyes, you rose from your chair, dress cascading down the floor as you gazed back towards Balem. You saw the alarms raise in his eyes, that wine glass seemingly cracking in his hand when you smugly spoke. “If you see no issue with it then, if you’ll excuse me.” You would never seek another, Balem was more than enough for you. But, if he wanted to play mind games, then you would string him right along.
“Beg pardon, my lord.” You curtsied to the man, trying to excuse your behavior earlier when he spoke to you. “Forgive my rude response earlier. I was simply shy and-“
“Speak nothing of it, my dear.” He was a polite lord, handsome as well, but your interests only seemed to cater to the more grumpy elite of this universe. With a bow of his own, he grabbed a glass of wine from the servants, extending it to you in further greeting. “Shall we?”
You felt that angry gaze, bearing down on you like hell had risen on this planet. But, your fear was more for the man currently eyeing you up and down.
“You have my gratitude.”
Both of you froze at the rough tone of his voice, your eyes sliding down to the wine in the lord’s hand. Only to see Balem’s grab it roughly, his smirk showing more than ownership over you and this alcazar. It was almost pathetic how easily aroused you became at the sight of his power. But, it didn’t end there, he wasn’t satisfied with simply instilling fear in those around him or drinking the wine offered to you. He drove his point home by snaking his arm around your waist, harshly dragging you to him and planting a breathless kiss upon your lips.

Love me like you do (Part 21)-Balem series
A/N: Guys…it’s now 6:10am and I just finished this. Kill me. I haven’t slept. Why???? Because, I once I get going I get going…and stopping is not an option dammit. I’m so wired. But, I finished and I’m accomplished and I’m feeling all the feels with this chapter and I don’t care if any of you hate it because my heart is ripped out by my own doing. And I was writing this while listening to my choice of mood music and it broke me. Guys, it broke me. *dies* Also, this chapter is almost 5,000 words lol
MOOD MUSIC: 13 beaches by Lana Del Rey
***
Over the centuries pain was something any man would become accustomed to. Both physically and emotionally, to Balem it didn’t matter. He had trained his mind in dealing with these issues, something he could place credit on his family for. It was just one of the many reasons his heart had darkened over the years. An easy thing when all you’ve known is betrayal and misery.
So it was no surprise when he felt that dagger push into his side, over and over again until he was kneeling down on the floor in the arms of his guard. He choked out an unintelligible curse, blood spilling from the corner of his mouth as he gripped the man’s armor. His fingertips slipped off the metal, his blood already coating the guard head to toe.
“Forgive me, my lord…” The guard let out a remorseful apology, helping Balem to the floor as he fell back in pain. But, his words meant little to the Primary, who was still conscious enough to send him a glare that conveyed his rage and confusion.
“F-Fool…” Balem growled out, gasps of agony spewing from his lips as he tried to crawl to any form of safety. He stopped just feet away, clutching at his abdomen and attempting to stop the flow of blood. Not that it helped him, he could feel the wave of dizziness that came from blood loss, his heart slowing down with every move he made. Even if he could make it to the healers there was no guarantee he’d live. So he halted his actions, grunting as he turned onto his back and laid on the marbled floor. His eyes took in the sight of his ornate gold ceilings, the smallest of details etched into the stone and marble keeping him focused on staying awake. For all the times he’d been close to death, this felt the most intimate. Never before had he felt the emptiness of his world begin to consume him, and all he had worked for. And all he had yet to accomplish…if he held the strength, he would’ve laughed. What an end for such a powerful man, he couldn’t help but think. For all his glory, all his riches, he’d succumb to such a weak person kneeling before him. “You won’t make it,” Balem grumbled, body stiffening in pain when he tried to move. “Out alive…”
His guard looked up at him from his spot on the floor, fear and regret clear upon his features. He tugged the black helmet of his uniform off, blond hair falling into his eyes when he threw it bitterly to the side. The metal clanked off the wall, coming to a stop just at the large stained glass windows.
“I had to do it.” He uttered, setting his hands on his knees as he felt the full weight of his actions fall on him. The consequences were simple to comprehend, he knew that and if working for Balem all these years had taught him anything it was the Primary never showed mercy. Even to those who may have deserved it. “You took my wife from me,” He choked back, wiping away the few tears that formed in the corners of his eyes. “Sold her off to your brother like some common whore.”
“You’ll have to be more specific.” In spite of his wounds, Balem never faltered in his demeanor. Showing your weakness to those below you was a mistake for any entitled. If a man could take a dagger to your chest and be your equal, then anyone below would soon follow. Kalique and Titus undoubtedly knew this, and for a moment he regretted not taking their heads when he had the chance. “I’ve given far too many women to my brother.” He chuckled darkly, tightening his hold over the injury as he sat up. He kept his eyes trained on the guard, ready for any other fight he attempted to put up. Though he had little energy to thwart off another attack. He reserved his strength for provoking the guard instead, needing him to come near enough to finish the job.
“I loved her!” The guard screamed in anguish, slamming his fist into the ground before making his way closer to his boss. He gripped the blade in his hand again, tossing it around and debating what he should do. The more he stalled though, the deeper his self pity went. “He promised me, if I did this he’d bring her back to me. Said she was safe, said she missed me.”
Sinister laughter filled the empty hallway, the Primary’s morbid sense of humor now growing when the guard allowed his confusion to show. If he had it in his heart, Balem would’ve pitied the man. Unfortunately, he didn’t waste his time sympathizing with those who choose fruitless ambitions.
“You really are a fool.” Balem tilted his head back, sighing when the pain began to ebb away and left him with this oddly euphoric sensation. “You allow Titus to convince you of treason, all for the chance to see a woman who so easily found her way into my bed-”
“Enough!” The guard held the dagger up, lips set in a deep scowl as he tried to find the courage to finish the Primary off. He couldn’t understand how someone in Balem’s predicament could still inflict such suffering, almost as if the entitled was baiting him on purpose. Finding the reasons was a task he didn’t have time for though, and getting out of this alcazar and planet was urgent. “I will kill you, and when this is done Titus will give her back to me, and we’ll start a new life-”
“Enough of your incessant sniveling.” Balem criticized, eyes following every movement of his current assassin. He watched the man grow nearer, hesitation in his eyes as he shook the dagger in his hand. It was a pathetic sight, even a bit of disappointment was felt at his siblings lack of care in choosing his killer.
“You don’t have the power here!” The guard trembled with anger, his entire conduct showing the opposite of his words. “You forced me into your servitude, had me take this oath of giving my life for yours if need be. And then you lure my wife into your arms! She was all I had after you harvested our planet. You took everything from me…and now Titus promised to give it all back.”
Balem clicked his tongue in mockery of the man’s speech, knowing fully well Titus had no intentions of giving anything in return for this exchange. Such was his younger brother, a master of manipulation that could sway even the sharpest of minds. But, the guard’s problems were not his own, and he held no remorse for the actions of the past.
“Look around you,” The Primary forced out his words now, gritting his teeth as he pushed down on his wounds. “I’ve had the gates to Jupiter sealed for days now, not one ship leaves this place without me knowing of it.” He pointed out the window, towards the Jupiter gates with a pleased smirk. His eyes lit up with satisfaction when the guard turned around, a concerned expression on his face. It was obvious to both men now, no one was coming to save him. “Titus isn’t coming for you. You were only ever a means to an end. A pawn in the greater game of the universe that he seeks to control.”
“No,” The guard whimpered out, sobbing slightly as his head fell forward in his hands. The recognition of consequences was beginning to dawn on him, and in spite of Balem’s words he still looked back towards the gates in hope of salvation. But, no one came. “He promised.”
“My brother promises a great number of things,” Balem sank back into the wall, carefully observing the guard when he bent forward in his grief. The dagger was hanging limply from his trembling hands, no longer posing an immediate threat to Balem’s life. “Stop this now, and if I live…” He spit out the blood pooling in his mouth, licking across his lip before offering the man some hope. “I will let you leave this place.”
The guard gazed up in shock, eyes wide as he looked his boss over with uncertainty. He couldn’t gauge the amount of deception behind his assurances, but they were the words of an already dying man. If truth ever came out, it was in those last moments before giving in to death’s grip.
“Give me the dagger.” Balem held his hand out, taking shallow gasps of air as the effort to live grew difficult. He awaited the guard’s decision, noting the hesitation and slivers of faith in his eyes. He only needed him to grow closer, to reach out and allow him the dagger so he may end this now. “The dagger, now.”
The guard glanced back one last time at the gates, finding no signs of help. It was a striking blow to his dreams, another reason to find the Abrasax family loathsome. “I have worked for you, for many years…”
“And that is the reason I will pardon you of this treacherous act.” Balem promised, urging him to lend him the dagger before all else failed.
“I have your word, my lord?”
“You have my word…”
With the last bits of reluctance gone, the guard handed the blade over, eyes downcast when Balem finally held it in his hand. The worse seemed over, and Balem eyed him up and down before once again holding his side as he made to get up.
“Help me up.”
The guard nodded solemnly, rising to his legs and grabbing Balem by the shoulders. He raised the Primary back to his feet, making sure he was steady before pulling away. He was ready to be rid of this place, only curious as to the plans of the entitled. He couldn’t imagine what story they’d concoct to sweep this all under the rug. He just assumed Titus would be apart of it.
“What will-” The guard’s words constricted into a mess of gagging noises, his hand quickly rising to cover the blade now buried into his throat.
“How you made it into my guard,” Balem scoffed, plunging the dagger further into his neck with a sneer on his lips. Blood dripped over the handle, trailing over Balem’s knuckles and onto his clothes. “I will never know.”
The guard stumbled back on his boots, choking through his words as he wished to gain answers for this betrayal. However, the Primary’s stare alone was enough to fulfill that question. Promises and oaths, it was all just words to men like Titus and Balem. That’s what kept them in power, knowing the right tales to spin and promises to make. You could convince just about anybody if you know what you’re doing.
Balem watched as he fell to the ground, now in the place he was only minutes ago. It was poetic justice in his eyes, and he took the greatest pleasure in watching the guard writhe in his death throes. But, every pained breath was a reminder of his current state. With a loud groan he shoved himself from the wall, fingertips coasting over the marble and smearing blood along the intricate designs. He limped along the way, jaw set tight in determination to get somewhere where help could arrive. He was losing blood fast, and at any moment he felt he could fall over and find his long life at an end.
He came upon the shrine in the middle of hallway, the one erected to his mother after her death. He protested against its formation, but at the behest of his siblings he allowed the work to be done. If he had known Kalique and Titus would soon build their own in their respective alcazars, he would’ve torn this one down ages ago. The only thing that stopped him was the statue of her, Seraphi. His dear, dear mother. The woman who taught him how to pursue this business until everyone would prostrate before him. If love could be equated to one emotion, it was hate for him. How he loathed that woman, for all her ambitions and her cruelty. He could recall how kind she could be to him, only when it was conditional in nature. He admired her for it, she played people so well he grew up wanting to be everything she was.
“We are the same person, aren’t we…?” He chuckled out, no longer caring for aid as he pushed open the door to her shrine. He fell at the feet of her statue, blood splattering on her dress as he gazed up towards her likeness. “How fitting that I should share the same fate as you, dear mother.”
He laid at the foot of the sculpture, head resting on her legs as he lifted a hand to no one in particular. His fingers curled down into his palm, eyes drifting closed as he watched the candles in the room flicker in the soft breeze coming through the windows. In the midst of his acceptance of death, his mind drifted to one thing: You. You with all your fiery beauty, and constant protests of his every decision. It was always an endless argument with you, wanting him to be a better man he could never be for someone like you. You never had to directly say it to his face, because he could see the disappointment in your beautiful eyes whenever you gazed at him. He spent his whole life becoming the person he was today, a reputation that no one in the universe could rival. In the grand scheme of it all, you could not possibly understand why. He had accepted that, but deep inside his heart…he didn’t want to. He needed you to realize why he was this way, why it had to be this way. With a soft exhale he turned around, nails scraping over the foot of the statue as he regarded her with a great disgust he had come to harbor over the years.
“You win, mother…” Balem muttered in contempt, forehead settled upon the stone as he tried to find tranquility in his ending. So he let his thoughts run aimlessly to you. The only peace he ever felt in his thousands of years of life. It brought a smile to his face, a sense of complacency that he cherished. He brought his hand up, pressing it into the stone as he felt sleep taking him.
“Balem…?”
The Primary opened his eyes once more, breathing ragged as he looked over his shoulder to find you standing at the entryway. In his hazy state he couldn’t perceive the reality of your presence, but the closer you came the clearer his vision. He could see those eyes he adored so much, those sultry lips he longed for every night. It seemed cruel to him now, that in the time of his death he should find such perfection in every part of you. Your only fault now was having fallen for a man like him. He was no fool in that respect, he saw it the moment you screamed at him for that serving girl’s death, and again in the hallway earlier. Every fragment of denial and objection outlined clearly on your face. The turmoil you felt, he thrived on it all this time…until he found himself taking that journey with you. A downward spiral into emotions he could not and would not deal with.
“Oh my god, Balem!”
He felt the touch of your palm on his back, pushing him gently over as a scream erupted from you in your shock.
“What happened?!” You weren’t worried about him at first, thinking in his rage he had stumbled in here. This shrine was normally closed off to others besides him, and it was only once before you had found him in here. Sitting amongst the pews with a reserved expression on his features. He looked too upset to disturb that time, so you let him be. Thinking it was for the best, but having passed by just now you got this sense of dread in you. One that couldn’t be ignored when those doors were shoved wide open. It wasn’t until you saw the blood adorning the figure of his mother that you set into motion.
“You’re okay!” You fussed in your panic, turning him over so you could assess the damage to his body. The blood pooling at his side was massive, and nothing you did could stop it from flowing. How he even managed to get in here was a miracle in itself. “Balem…what…” Words escaped you, the very sight of him in this weakened state enough to shake the strength in you.
Balem choked back his pain, head cradled in your lap as you looked down at him. His eyes, despite his wounds, didn’t seem panicked. It was as if he always expected this moment to come. Where he no longer had the control to reign on this side of the universe. Where everything he had worked so hard to build crumbled slowly before him, and it all started with his death.
“Balem…” It took all your willpower to fight the tremble of your voice, to ignore that tightening feeling in your chest. But, how could you even begin to evade such an emotion? This man may have caused you so much heartache in your time here, but he also brought you a sense of happiness you didn’t think possible before. He was your conflict, one that you would eagerly try to solve for the rest of your days if it meant his survival.
“Balem-” Your tone cracked through your shock, hand shaking as you laid it down on his wound. His blood seeped through your fingers, coating your hand completely. In this moment though, you didn’t care. You just wanted to be close to him, to feel his presence for as long as you could. Because, breaking down right now did him or you no good.
“Little-” He tried to spit out his words, eyes fixed on your worried features as he attempted to get up. His body was not having it though, and he fell back into your lap with a strained noise. Balem laid there, breath shallow and life draining from his eyes. But, in his throes of pain he brought his hand over yours, paying little mind to the blood as he laced your fingers together.
“Balem, please…” You fought back more tears, gripping his hand tightly in yours now. He was gritting his teeth, attempting to ease his own pain until proper helped arrive. “Balem….”
It was all you could think to say, hoping that chanting his name would somehow heal him. Somehow bring him back to you. But that was a foolish notion, and you knew that. So you leaned down, licking your dry lips and hoping he could still hear you well enough. “I need you here.” It was a desperate cry you wanted him to answer, hoping he could find some reason to keep fighting even if it was for the sake of you. There was little hope in that feeling, but you would do anything if it meant he could stay alive. “I need you…please…”
The Primary stared up at you, surveying every detail like this would be his last time having that privilege. He lifted his hand towards you, skimming his fingertip over your cheek and wiping at your tears. Something he found himself completely undeserving of.
“Someone help!” Your screams went unanswered, heart now dropping at the idea of losing him. “Someone…”
“Let it go, little bird…”
You glanced back down at him, eyes welling up with more tears when he nestled his face into your lap. It hurt to see him this way, and for all his tenacity he could only cling to life for so long. In spite of his words, you called for help again, screaming frantically between sobs until you heard the rush of footsteps coming down the hall.
***
Hours had gone by, hours of you waiting outside his chamber doors on any word of his progress. It was torture, but you allowed the healers to do their work uninterrupted. When Mr. Night came running down the halls with soldiers you felt the worse had been over. But, the looks on all their faces wasn’t promising. His trusted advisor had never looked so grim in all the time you had known him. Which didn’t bode well for your own faith in his survival.
You sank back into the wall, dropping down to the floor and contemplating what to do. Losing him was not an option you could entertain right now. The pain that followed those thoughts was too overwhelming to put up with.
“Yes, thank you.”
Mr. Night’s voice captured your attention, and you glanced up to see him exiting the room with one of the many healers. They discussed something privately in low voices, making you lean over to listen to the conversation. You couldn’t make much of it out, just faint whispers of a guard and Balem’s blood loss.
“Lord Balem will no doubt reward you all for your services once he wakes up.”
The healer nodded with a smile, bowing to Mr. Night in thanks before moving off down the hall. You waited for a moment, making sure everyone was out of earshot before assaulting the splice with your concerns.
“How is he?”
The advisor moved to look at you, hands clasped behind his back as he sighed in frustration. “I’m surprised you’re still here.”
“I’m not leaving, so you might as well tell me.”
Mr. Night’s lips dipped into a frown, but he shook his head and relayed what information he could. “They have closed his wounds, and have done what they could for his rather great loss of blood.” He could see the worry grow on your face, and for once in the time he’s known you he gave into the small sliver of kindness he had. “They say he will make a full recovery.”
It was all you needed to hear before you jumped up and went inside his chambers. Ignoring the advisor’s objections, you let the doors slide closed as you made your way to his bedside. In his repose he looked so peaceful, a rarity for a man like him. It brought a small smile to your face, knowing that at least in his sleep there was some form of solace for him. You moved to his side, taking a seat on the bed as you observed his injuries. The bedsheets were wrapped around his waist, barely covering the stab wound he sustained from the attack. You lifted the edge of them, eyes widening when you found nothing but scars in their place.
“That’s incredible.” This world’s technology would never cease to amaze you, but this time you were grateful for it. In the back of your mind you knew if this had been earth he would’ve succumbed to his wounds, something you couldn’t have lived with.
You put the sheets back in place, smoothing out the wrinkles as you gazed down at his sleeping form. The specifics of the attack weren’t known to you, but if you had to venture a guess you just knew his siblings were the cause of it. If his own sister could attempt to poison him, then you imagined Titus or Kalique had tried again to end their older brother’s life. You couldn’t imagine the deeper issues in all of them to cause these horrible circumstances, but knowing Balem had to deal with them for centuries was a distressing thought. It was no wonder he found it hard to open up to others.
“I don’t think you’ve ever really known what love is, hm?” You spoke aloud, forcing a smile as you looked longingly at him. You laid your cheek in your hand, crossing your legs to get more comfortable on the bed. It was a question you couldn’t possibly ask when he was conscious, knowing he’d just scoff and ignore the topic in favor of silence. A sigh of dismay left you then, and you turned to look out the windows towards the Jupiter gates.
“No, I wouldn’t say that I do.”
You glanced up from your palm when his deep voice cut through the silence, his bold features set in an expression of agony when he lifted himself up. He rested his back against the headboard, sighing in relief as some of the pain subsided from his abdomen. Balem was never one to show his misfortunes to others, but if he ever had to choose someone to slip momentarily in front of, he was satisfied with it being you.
Balem noted the way you anxiously looked away from him, often avoiding his gaze when the situation grew too intimate in nature. Mainly in the emotional sense, because the fact was having you lay beside him, watching over him as he found his strength back…that was a gesture no one had ever graced him with. For once in his life, he was at a complete loss for logic. And he felt like rethinking your previous question, because perhaps in the time that he grew fond of you, love had become a concept he was growing all too familiar with.
“Why are you here?”
You blushed at his inquiry, biting down on your lip in embarrassment and turning away from his questioning gaze. It was bad enough for him to have heard you, but now being scrutinized under his glare was too much. You could’ve told the truth, finally freeing your heart of the emotions that had gradually started to grow for the entitled. But, lying seemed easier, safer even. If only to protect what little dignity you held about this topic.
“I don’t know…” It was far from convincing, but you said it anyway. Because, his impassioned glare was becoming hard to ignore. Especially being so close to him. You couldn’t even remember the last time you lay in bed with him since your falling out, it was almost surreal being back here.
Balem considered your behavior, detailing the way you shifted around when under his inquisitive eyes. He thought back on the shrine room, the way you held him in your arms as he felt the closeness of death. To the way you cried for him, begging him to stay by your side, saying you needed him. When in reality he didn’t believe that you did. Not even a little.
“My little dove,” He cooed out, leaning forward and surprising you when he laid his forehead on your shoulder. It had your heart racing in your chest, that familiar warmth developing in your body whenever he was near. Only this time it felt so absolute in its existence.
“Balem?”
The First Primary closed his eyes, brows furrowed as he took in the scent of your perfume. That desirable bouquet that reminded him of every detail of your relationship with him, each one too captivating to let go of. He’d forever cherish them, he couldn’t allow himself to take them for granted anymore…because for now, they would be all he had left of you. He took your hand in his, still cradling his head against your shoulder so he wouldn’t have to look at you. It was a strange behavior to see from him, you thought. But, for a man who was far too close to dying it was no surprise really. For a second, you allowed yourself to believe Evianna was right in her words. That somehow this solitary figure, cold hearted and detached could somehow come to love you of all people. The very concept of it made your soul stir with longing for him, and you returned his gesture, gripping his hand tightly in yours as he rested into your body.
“Balem, I-”
The Primary stopped your flow of words, knowing then that a confession would shortly follow. One he could not accept, or return in anyway, because he wasn’t a man capable of that. For all his torments towards you, he offered a chance of happiness he could not give you otherwise. It took him over fourteen thousand years to find you, the person who could love him for all he was. It was real, genuine in all its innocence. From the simple way you looked at him, to the way you touched him. With all the fragility of your heart that he so yearned to feel everyday. It was maddening how desperate he was to have you for himself, but he couldn’t do that to you. He couldn’t guarantee anything when it came to matters of the heart.
“I cannot give you what you want…”
Even though he knew with unwavering certainty, that he loved you too.

MOOD MUSIC: Nothing left to say by Imagine Dragons
***
The silence between you two was unnerving, and though you wished to escape this moment there was little you could do. He was still close to you, breath heavy with wine lingering over your lips. He seemed angry, but he barely made a sound before he kept his gaze on you and pulled back. He sank into his chair, reaching for another glass since he shattered the last one in his fit of rage. And as if nothing had just occurred between you both he simply poured himself another glass and took a casual sip. The whole while keeping his eyes trained on you. Words escaped you, because you were sure nothing you said would make him happy now. For whatever his reasons, he wasn’t keen on parting with you just yet and that’s what caused even more turmoil to build within your heart.
“You can’t keep me here forever.”
It was more of a question, the way you said it. And while his threat had made it evident that he fully intended to try, you still couldn’t believe he’d suggest such a notion. Was it really worth all the trouble of having you around? Was he that infatuated with your current arrangement that he’d simply force you to stay? None of it made much sense to you. In fact, by now he should’ve been invested in another woman if history was anything to go by. But, he clung to you. For a moment it gave you hope, and if you were being completely honest with yourself, fear. Because, you couldn’t imagine him loving someone. So if he needed you by him, how much heartache was in your future to have to put up with it.
“You have no idea who you’re talking to.”
His threatening words alarmed you, and you glanced up at him for once during this conversation. For someone who managed to gain more than your affections, he was doing a wonderful job of making you question it.
“Balem-”
“Enough.” He gave you a stern look, signaling that he was done with this topic. You knew badgering him would get you nowhere, but the more he brushed you off the angrier you felt towards him. The legs of your chair scraped loudly against the floor as you stood, ready to be out of this aggravating man’s presence. There were many times he caused a slew of emotions to rage in you, but this time you felt it was far too much. You may have found yourself out of place here, but you were not void of dignity.
“I am not yours to do with as you please!”
At least your outburst captured enough of his attention for him to settle his wine glass down. But, that devilish glint in his green eyes was enough to make you tremble. You may have gotten on his nerves now and then, but this was by far the worst you’ve ever seen him. With his lips tightened in a thin line, he glared your way, and just when you went to move passed him he latched onto your forearm and tugged you harshly back.
Balem all but shoved you into the wall, rough enough to make you gasp but gentle enough to leave you otherwise unharmed. But, that didn’t make you feel any better about this situation. There was a fire in his eyes like none you’ve ever witnessed in a man. His stare alone could make the world’s greatest armies crumble into nothing at his feet. However, it was his tone that ate away you. So frightfully laced in a madness that had his fingers tightening their grip upon your arm.
“This is not a game, Y/N.”
Your heart nearly stopped, his haunting voice making your name sound like a threat of its own. He had never once called you by it to your face, and though you longed for him to have done so you now fully regretted that wish. It sounded nothing short of a heated passion, one that made you part your lips to release the nervous breath you had been holding.
His nose brushed yours, the proximity of his body only adding to your uneasiness. You never once took your gaze from him, wanting to show him that regardless of his intimidation you would never falter. Even though every nerve in your body told you otherwise.
“You’re right. It’s not.” You asserted, trying to keep the tremble from your voice. To love a man like him was a dangerous attachment, and the closer he stood only made you more aware of that point. Although, you already found yourself hooked to him and nothing you thought or said could change that. Perhaps that was the most alarming part of loving him. How much were you willing to forgive in order to allow yourself the freedom of giving in to your heart’s desires? “So let me make this easy for you-” A risk, a huge one. But, you needed it to be said and done. If Balem wanted you, in whatever way, you were to be the one to decide that. “If I can’t go back to earth, then let me make this perfectly clear for you.”
Balem sneered at that, his hand inching dangerously up your arm until he rested it over your neck. He didn’t hurt you though, simply held your chin so you couldn’t bother looking away from him. He always marveled at your strength, and even now amidst your own claims he found a delightful beauty in it. It was only further proof that he wanted you near. A woman who could bring her own tenacity to the table, and leave him proud by the end of it.
“You are in no position to demand things of me.”
He was right in his assertions, you held no power here. Even as a lover of the most powerful man, your reach could only stretch so far. Nonetheless, your point would forever remain, he could not dictate the details of your relationship if you were not willing.
“I will be a servant. I will stay in the servant’s quarters, and I will stay clear of you.”
To many those words would seem benign, but you added a certain bitterness behind them. As if spite was your main purpose in this conversation. Anything to put Balem in his place, if only for this moment. His reaction, however, was not what you expected and with an amused smirk he released your face and stepped back.
“As I said, little bird…” He turned on his heel, fetching his wine before heading towards his chaise lounge. He nonchalantly laid down, crossing his boots at the end as he sipped his wine and pointed towards the bed. “You are in no position to demand things of me. You want to serve, then serve. My sheets need changing, as I recall we made a mess on them not so long ago.”
His confidence was enviable, and even when you felt you had the upper hand he always knocked you back into place. It was no wonder he held the fate of planets at his fingertips. But, in some odd way you had gained part of your request. Only now you’d be at his beck and call, back to the way it originally was. Except you felt a certain doom looming over you this time around. One that caused your chest to tighten and heart to sink. Being around him was the one condition you intended to keep, that seemed to be out of your power now. It’s not like you could avoid him anyway, being surrounded by everything he owned he was bound to cross paths with you at some point.
“As you wish…my lord.” You spat back, a coolness to your tone that made him scoff in annoyance. But, he watched you intensely despite your attitude. If only to find satisfaction in seeing you seethe with your own anger for him.
***
Days had passed since your falling out with a certain entitled, not that you held any regret for it. There was honor in knowing you said exactly what you felt, even if it hurt doing so. It did nag at the back of your mind often, the way he looked at you, the way he spoke to you. He was like a whirlwind of emotion when he truly wanted to be. One minute he’s beckoning you for dinner, and the next he’s spitting insults and threats in your face. If he did harbor any positive feelings towards you, he truly did not know how to present them properly. You’d like to think his anger came from a very sensitive spot in him, but that was likely just wishful thinking on your part. Even though you were eager to rid yourself of your feelings for Balem, some small part of you yearned for his affections in return. As any person would hope for in the wake of a romance.
“When you’re done, prepare his meal for him and leave it in his chambers. Lord Balem wishes to take dinner in there today.”
The head of the servants flew by you, shouting out orders to everyone and hustling about the kitchen. He paid particular attention to you, and whether that was by Balem’s hand or not you weren’t entirely sure. But, since you were meant to wait on the Primary hand and foot, you supposed the head would prefer you do it perfectly. Or else he’d suffer the consequences.
“Sure.” You stated dryly, rolling your eyes as the man once again passed by and observed over your shoulder. You swore he acted as if you’d poison Balem the way he eyed your food preparation. Thankfully, his assessment didn’t last long when a small fire broke out on the stove, his yelling now focused on another poor serving girl. You took that moment and ran with it, grabbing the dinner tray and quickly heading out the doors. Sometimes, especially in these situations, you began to regret saying you’d be a servant. But, in your passionate exchange of words with the head of Abrasax industries you may have gotten a bit carried away. You just wanted to be as far from him as possible, but now he was working you to the bone every chance he got. Even though you didn’t regret your words, you regretted your suggestions right now. It was an endless cycle of cleaning his throne room, chambers, balcony, anything his boots so much as scraped you were now in charge of scrubbing and sweeping. He was doing it on purpose, you knew that much. He found utter joy in watching you get on your knees and suffer for your defiance. It was wicked, and downright degrading sometimes. Pretending not to be bothered was the only solace you had in it, because nothing disappointed him more than knowing he wasn’t getting under your skin.
As you walked through the hallways, you passed a number of guards. All of them gathering to head towards the docks and the surrounding grounds of the palace. Balem had made it a priority to have security doubled ever since the assassin came. And for now only cargo ships were allowed passed the Jupiter gates. Everyone seemed to be in a rush now days, more so than usual. Even Mr. Night was giving in to the stress weighing on him. Not that he wasn’t normally frazzled to begin with.
“Anything else you might need, Lord Balem?”
The honeyed voice of a serving girl captured your ear, and you halted in your footsteps as you came face to face with the very man you often tried to avoid. He was standing just at the end of the hall, for once not surround by guards or his advisor. But, the two of them were awfully close to one another, and you recognized the girl as someone you had seen numerous times before in the servant quarters. She was a cute little thing, any man would be blind not to admit that. Which only made seeing them together all that more painful. They weren’t anywhere near Balem’s chambers, but it wouldn’t be unheard of for him to quickly find another woman to satisfy his appetite with.
Unfortunately for you, both of them caught sight of your presence rather quickly. There was an awkwardness about it, you just shuffling on your boots as you stared them both down. You didn’t care for her disgusted glance, but Balem’s stoic one was more than unsettling.
“Leave.”
You watched in surprise as Balem waved her away, his attention now fully on you as he began to walk in your direction. The girl tried to speak to him again, but with one look he had her running off to continue her duties. It was somewhat comforting to witness, because it only showed he held no attachment to her. That didn’t mean nothing went on behind closed doors, but you tried to find your victories in the minor details.
As Balem grew closer, you continued your pace again just about passing him by. Both of you held the other’s gaze, as if your thoughts could possibly come across. Not that it was a painless task to try and decipher the Primary’s stare. When it came to the ultimate poker face, Balem held that honor. You on the other hand, were clumsily letting your emotions show in the form of thoughtless words.
“That didn’t take you long.”
It was enough to interrupt Balem’s path to the throne room, your shoulders almost brushing when he stopped just next to you. He slowly turned his head down to you, that gloating look of his already making your stomach turn. And then he smirked, like the smug bastard that he is.
“Jealousy is unbecoming of you.”
“I’m not-” You bit at your cheek, trying to cover up the obvious resentment in your words. “I’m not jealous. Just making an observation.”
That only seemed to please him more, and he just chuckled darkly as he reached over tucking a strand of loose hair behind your ear. He was playing with you, trying the same tactics he did months ago when you first got here. Seduction was a game he was perfectly skilled at, but unlike the women already here you weren’t prone to giving in to the privileges he’d bestow upon his chosen woman. He may have won the first time, but you, just like him back then, wanted one thing. To fulfill the desires of your heart in the most lustful of ways. His position or riches meant nothing to you, because you had no interest in possessing the power of the world at your fingertips. That was way above your pay grade. And lust was no longer an issue for you. Of course you craved his touch some nights, or most nights if you were honest. Any sane woman would, but you weren’t foolish enough to dig your hole deeper and wallow in the pity of unrequited love.
“I know what jealousy looks like in a woman’s eyes.” He purred, thinking it’d be an easy task to bring you back to him. For what it was worth, he didn’t think you could keep up this little ploy of yours, but so far he was impressed. Even at the expense of his own pride. He wanted you back by his side, and each day that passed only disheartened him further.
“With all due respect, my lord…” You paused, holding the tray tighter in your hands as you offered him a sharp stare in return. For now, Balem didn’t understand what you felt and it was in your best interest to keep that secret. But, for the sake of silencing that mouth of his for once you spoke up anyway. “I don’t think you know what anything looks like in a woman’s eyes.”
His glare darkened, eyes narrowing as his lip twitched at the corner. You truly did enjoy toying with his mood, at least that’s how he saw it. However, he was the better player in all of this. With a grin he dipped down, lips mere centimeters from your ear as he whispered cruelly into it.
“You wish to know if I bedded her?”
You never knew a question could cause so much pain, but with those few words your throat ached. Every part of you wanting to sink to the ground and cry. The feeling was pathetic, and as hard as you tried to hold it together the urge to slap that evil grin off his face was building. And you were sure you would’ve gone through with it had it not been for his guards and Mr. Night turning the corner.
“Lord Balem, I have the data you requested.”
The First Primary kept his eyes on you, but that smirk was no longer there. He wasn’t happy about being interrupted, but you figured what Mr. Night had was far too important for him to ignore. So he moved away from you, never giving an answer to his question he posed. It broke your heart, not only to hear it but now to sit in limbo as your mind conjured up many images of them together.
“Excuse me.” You softly spoke, keeping the tray as steady as you could on your way to his room.
Balem never let his gaze tear away from you, not until you were out of his line of sight. He was tempted to place his arm in front of you, to stop you from leaving his side once again. But, he opted to let you leave this time. There was other matters that needed his attention, and he could use the distractions.
***
“Oh, you’re here.”
You set the tray on the table, nodding over at Evianna who was busy cleaning his furniture. You had spent a considerable amount of time by her side lately, mainly because she was usually in charge of catering to his chambers and food. But, Balem always got his way, and somehow you found yourself partner to his personal servant. Not that you both had grown any closer than before. She still tried on occasion to place herself in your business, especially in regards to Balem. Each time only ended the same, you sighing and saying you didn’t want to talk about it. You figured this time wouldn’t be any different. She was a talented judge of character, and often knew your thoughts and mood better than you did.
“You can leave the rest, ill take care of it.” You offered, filling his glass of wine so it would be ready for him.
“Oh, it’s fine. I’m almost done.” She smiled, wiping at the top of his dresser. “Besides, I’m sure he’d love to have you alone again.”
It was a playful jest, but it vexed you all the same. It wasn’t her fault, she was simply trying hard to gain your favor. If only she knew the brief run in you had with him just now, she wouldn’t be so mindlessly spewing words about his nonexistent feelings for you.
“Little chance of that.” Your voice fell flat, your own senses trying to keep your obvious emotions out of it. Not that that stopped Evianna from prying again. You could hear her movements stop, and you already knew what was coming.
“Is this really wise?”
You had to admire her persistence, though you wished she’d understand your point of view in this. For a woman like her, Balem was a dream, a man she longed for day and night. You knew if given the chance she’d eagerly take your place again, that much was obvious. But, you supposed her pushing you to make more of your relationship with the entitled was simply her way of getting what she wanted in the end. Even if she wasn’t the one winning his affections. What an odd thing, you thought. Yet, for someone well versed in this universe gaining Balem’s heart was probably a very sought after thing. Any woman would suddenly find themselves well to do. If Balem could shower you with gifts by just being his bedmate, you could only imagine what his actual wife would be privileged to.
“Is what wise?” You knew her meaning, but you didn’t feel the need to explain or play into this conversation with her. By now your feelings for the Primary were likely known, even if just to Evianna. But, that wasn’t to be entertained by your mind anymore. It could never happen, and you weren’t sure it should happen. Because, as far as your heart could tell the feelings you held were not mutual. Especially when he so viciously toyed with your emotions.
“He shows care for you-”
“Evianna!” You sighed in frustration, laying your forehead against your palm in an attempt to ease your growing stress. “It’s not like that, and I’d really appreciate it if you’d drop it.”
“If you ignore him, he’ll find another.”
There were a number of things she could’ve responded with, and yet she chose that. It was like she was practically waving her intentions in front of you, but you supposed that could also be your jealousy taking over. Maybe she did want the best for you, but you were far too fed up with her and the idea of her wanting to be a friend that it didn’t really make a difference. With a wave of your hand you went back to folding the sheets, trying to make her realize once and for all you didn’t care.
“Yeah well…that’s the plan.”
You tucked his bedsheets under the edge of the mattress, trying to pretend you didn’t feel her gaze burning into your back. If you were willing to part with Balem on whatever terms, that was your right. And here she was making you feel as if that was the biggest mistake of your life. But, what other choice was there now? Earth was an impossible feat, and pretending that nothing happened between you two and go back to bedding the entitled was the last thing you needed. You feared your heart couldn’t take it anymore. You never meant to fall for him, and somehow that happened. Going back to the way things were would only make it worse, and tossing yourself out of the equation seemed easier than allowing him the pleasure later on. Not that you didn’t miss his companionship, for the lack of a better term. He had redeemable traits, unfortunately none of them included caring for another person.
“I know you’re trying to save yourself the heartache, but acting this way will only make it worse in the end.”
You paused in your actions, kneeling by his bed as you laid a palm atop the comforter. Evianna truly enjoyed hearing herself talk, even if her words were somehow bearing the truth. This time you didn’t try to interrupt her or prove her wrong, you just stayed silent. Her advice cutting deeper than you expected it to.
Evianna sighed in exhaustion, placing Balem’s decorations back on the dresser after polishing them. She was already done, and she took that chance and turned to you. With her hands clasped gently in front of her she just smiled, giving you one last thing to think over before Balem came sauntering back into his room later.
“You’ve come this far. Why stop now?”
***
“It’s a robust stock, my lord. Should be ready to harvest in five years time.”
Mr. Night tapped away at the tablet in his arms, eyeing the data collected from a planet under Balem’s inheritance. It hadn’t gone through a harvest in centuries, and though it was usually longer till the Abrasax family set their eyes on it again, the growth of life had proven far better than the last. It was no wonder Balem had chosen it for an early harvest, they’d get more than their fair share of premium Abrasax from the inhabitants.
“Five years…” The First Primary walked down the corridor towards the docks, cape sliding gracefully around him as two guards followed closely behind. Ever since Kalique had done such a sloppy job of ridding the family of him, he made it his business to have his army be on watch, and a number of them typically accompanied him around the alcazar. He may not take her threats as seriously as she’d like, but he wasn’t naive either. If they were going to send someone else, he’d be ready for them. “Check the outline for the next 2 years, if there is even a slight exponential growth I want to hear of it. Make plans for an even earlier possible harvest.”
“Right away, my lord.” Mr. Night had a concerned expression on his face, as he always did whenever Balem was a bit more ambitious than he should like. But, he wasn’t going to question his choices. He was rarely reckless with his business, and even when he was it always proved to be the better decision. “Shall I send in the keepers? To collect more samples for the future?”
Balem nodded, hardly interested in keeping this conversation going. His mind was preoccupied with a great number of important matters, but there was only one person that was at the center of it all. You. How you managed to work yourself under his skin like that was surprising, and while he found your boldness admirable having it directed at him was too infuriating. But, what was more damaging to his moods as of late was the lack of your presence. It grated on his nerves like nothing else, and the reasons behind it wasn’t something he’d willingly admit to himself.
“My lord?”
The Primary stopped in his tracks, eyes turning to view the splice from his peripheral. He didn’t need to speak his commands, because Mr. Night had come to know each expression of his all too well. So, with a simple courteous bow he excused himself from Balem’s company leaving him with the guards at his back.
“Escort me to my chambers. Then head back to the docks for the remainder of your duty.”
“My lord.” Both guards held their fists over their chests, giving a quick nod to Balem as they made to follow him down the hall. Their armor clanked as they slowed their steps, keeping in pace with their lord as he strode towards his chambers. The halls grew quieter the further they went, the servants likely finishing up for the day. It was a welcomed change from this afternoon’s events, constant meetings, issues, anything that could sour his mood made it on the agenda for him. And now he was looking forward to complete solitude, save for the little bird awaiting him in his chambers. He had made it a point to have you keep your former position, his personal servant. Every privilege he offered before, was now forfeit and if you truly wished to end what you had with him, he was still going to keep you close by if only for his own peace of mind.
In his musings he didn’t pay mind to the noise behind him. Not until a choking sound erupted in the soft hush of the halls. It made him still in his movements and though he didn’t immediately turn, he felt this shadow overtake his mind. That sound was unmistakable, he had heard it numerous times in his life. From when men had made it their business to target his mother, or when she made it her goal to punish those who stood against her. Even if that meant subjecting her eldest son to witness their deaths. And it was something he’d carry on into his own reign as head of the family. That was the sound of a man dying, and just when Balem made to turn, his eyes barely catching sight of one of his guards dead on the floor, he felt a hand at his shoulder. It pulled him roughly, closing the distance between him and one of his guards who then plunged a dagger deep into the Primary’s abdomen.

A/N: 🤷🏻♀️ Oops, my hand slipped. Why did the guard do that?! Just wait and see. Lol Because I love for the torture. Our poor space daddy is doomed.

MOOD MUSIC: Lust for life by Lana Del Rey
***
Trying to find an empty place to keep to yourself proved harder than you originally planned. The servant quarters were quiet enough, minus the many people coming in and out throughout the day. And even with the door closed you could clearly hear the gossip going on in the halls. You even lost count on the number of times your name flew passed their loose lips. It was bothersome to listen to, but you always tried your best to remain the bigger person. In this instance, that meant getting up and wondering the endless halls of Balem’s palace just to get away from them all.
You found yourself lost rather instantly, this place quickly becoming a maze for you. None of it made sense, and even trying to find something familiar was hard. It dawned on you how little you knew of this planet and all its surrounding cities. Balem was usually by your side you didn’t feel the need to explore or learn any of it. You supposed, in the back of your mind you saw all of this as temporary. Little chance of that now.
“Gardens?” You chewed on the inside of your cheek, looking at the golden plaque sign that adorned the black marbled wall. There was two large glass doors that led outside, and from your current position you could only see trees and grass. You guessed it was Balem’s idea of a garden, which likely meant it would’ve been the equivalent of a park on earth. He truly didn’t spare no expense in his life. But, with no one around it seemed the best choice for you. With slight reluctance, you looked around before sneaking through the door and making your way outside.
The breeze was instantly refreshing for you, a nice chill to the air you hadn’t really expected. But, the view was something that left you breathless. From the inside, it looked like a forest, perhaps even a meadow. However, up close it looked like something straight out of a fairy tale. The grass expanded around his palace, at least as far as you could make out. But, the flowers and ponds decorated this area so beautifully it was breathtaking. It could easily rival Kalique’s home, with the gorgeous waterfalls and red plants. Unlike hers though, this one somehow felt more serene to you. As if it was a little piece of home to be cherished. And for once in your time here, it felt like true peace.
You walked deeper into the path, holding your hand out as the bushes brushed along your fingertips. They were lovely shades of greens, oranges and colors you couldn’t even begin to describe. And each flower that bloomed along their tops was stunning. None of them looked familiar, save for the few that resembled roses. But, you had never seen anything like this before and it was already becoming your favorite part of this planet.
With a contented sigh, you eased between two shrubs, coming upon a large pond and fountain. You took a seat atop the rock on the edge, leaning back as you closed your eyes and enjoyed the breeze. You removed your boots, dipping your feet into the cold water. It was like heaven for you, just the sounds of the local fauna and trees swaying in the wind. It was the first time you had truly felt relaxed since being here. Unfortunately, not all things get to last. Especially amongst Balem’s numerous workers and advisors. No matter where you went, you figured they’d always find you. As was the case with Mr. Night.
“Go away.” It was nearly pleading, your body growing slack as you felt his gaze upon your back. You didn’t even need to turn to see his judgmental expression, because you already guessed that your new attire would throw him for a loop. Just imagining Balem’s expression was humorous enough.
“I was sent to retrieve you for lord Balem. So, if you wouldn’t mind.”
Mr. Night held one arm out, gesturing back towards the entrance in a means for you to follow him. But, right now you had no interest in seeing him or Balem. You were still feeling rather lost about the entire thing, and at this time you didn’t think your heart could take anymore hardships for the day. Unfortunately, Balem was not an understanding man, and you knew Mr. Night would do whatever it takes to keep his master in good spirits. Even if it meant dragging you away by force.
“I very much mind.” You shot him a less than gracious look, trying to convey how annoyed you were with him and his lord. Not everything in life had to revolve around them, but you doubted they’d ever see it that way. “What does he want anyway? Last time I saw him he was screaming for me to leave.”
None of this was his advisor’s business, but it felt good to vent it out to someone. Even if that someone was a splice who likely detested you for whatever reason. Perhaps that’s why you trusted him though. Mr. Night didn’t play games with Balem’s moods, so your negativity wasn’t likely to fall upon the entitled’s ears anytime soon.
“I believe he wishes to have dinner with you.”
The splice craned his neck towards you, trying to gain your full attention so that he could complete his simple task. But, you weren’t having it today. If that’s truly what Balem wanted, he could wait forever on you. It was maddening how he believed himself so powerful that one fancy meal would make all this go away.
“Dinner?” You scoffed in disbelief, giving a cynical smile as you turned back to the wonderful view before you. “I have no interest in joining him.”
“This wasn’t a request.”
“Nothing ever is with him. Now go away!”
Every second that ticked by made you more frustrated, and as much as you disliked Mr. Night you didn’t intend to be rude to the splice. He was only doing his job, the downside was that his job was simply helping Balem.
“I see the standard Abrasax temper has rubbed off on you.” He said with contempt, moving his hands behind his back.
You couldn’t blame him for that comment, your anger was misplaced. But, would it kill Balem and all the others to leave you be for even an hour. Apparently, that was far too much to wish for here. The power of these people, they seriously earned the description of entitled.
“All this time…” You scoffed, shaking your head as you began to think back on all your decisions here. Life had certainly not turned out like you planned or even expected. If someone long ago told you you’d end up mistress to the ruler of Jupiter and earth, well, that wouldn’t have gone over so well. But, here you sat, amongst the lovely gardens of Balem’s alcazar as if it was a normal habit of yours. Somewhere along the lines of being abducted you grew to just accept all this. It wasn’t easy, that much was sure, but you felt like maybe it was just the easier thing to do. Accept it, and learn to like it. Because, the more you marinated on the questions the more it grew to make you nervous. Besides, you always believed the world was much bigger than people thought. You just didn’t think it’d turn out quite like this. “All this time we believe the world is ruled by men and women in charge of countries. And here stands one man ruling our entire planet.”
Mr. Night kept quiet at first, hands clasped behind his back, and beady eyes set upon you. He was only mildly interested in your words, the better and smarter half of him thinking delicately on time. Because, Balem was definitely not going to be pleased if he took far too long to retrieve you. “You are just now coming to terms with this?”
His question did catch you off guard, for he hardly cared to converse with you. Much less even greet you half the time. It was only a matter of time though, he couldn’t possibly ignore you forever. Especially standing right behind you.
“No…no, of course not. It’s just-” You had to think deeply on it, because this world…that man, they had a way of changing your perspective on things. “Before I came here, before I was brought here, I thought I had a pretty good handle on the way the world works. What’s right, what’s wrong. I convinced myself that it was black and white.” There was a small pause between your words, your eyes downcast towards the water as it glided over your ankles. The fish in the pond grew near, only to skitter away when you barely moved your foot. “Now I just don’t understand anything.”
Your voice was desperate for an answer, a hint of hope that Mr. Night could somehow fix it all for you. It was pathetic really, but you didn’t care if it was him or a complete stranger. You just wanted somebody to figure this out for you. Because, the confusion you were beginning to feel was building up to the point that thinking was becoming quite the chore.
“I should hate him.” That was the problem. You should hate him, without any doubt in your body. Since the very beginning you should’ve loathed that entitled man with every fiber of your being. Black and white. That’s what it should have been. He used people, killed them, bent everyone to his will. He was tiresome, selfish, temperamental, anything negative you could possibly think of and that pretty much summed up Balem. “But, I can’t.”
“Personal crisis aside, we should not keep Lord Balem-”
“I want to hate him…”
Mr. Night sighed heavily, growing impatient with your issues. He didn’t have time to play therapist for you. Everyone on this planet had problems, but only Balem’s were of his concern. And seeing as how you were his Lord’s current predicament, he may as well try and humor you along. If only to get you to follow him back without use of force. He gritted his teeth, rolling his eyes as he tried to sound genuine towards you. “Oh?”
You laid your chin on your knees, feeling the weight of the world upon your shoulders. Or universe, in this case. You didn’t really want to hate him, that was a bit harsh for someone like you. Dislike, sure. But, hate was entirely different. As hellbent as Balem was on causing harm to billions, you didn’t wish death upon him.
“I just-”
“Can’t. Yes, I know. You’ve already…said that.” Mr. Night sucked in a frustrated breath, trying hard to maintain his composure despite his ever growing impatience with you. “But, Lord Balem is waiting on your arrival. I am sorry for your friend, it was a terrible tragedy but she is gone-” He didn’t mean it, he could care less about the serving girl. But, if his sentiments allowed you some comfort enough to get up and go, then he’d play along. “And my lord is not. So, need I remind you once more that he is waiting on-”
“He is not…” You lifted your head, brows knitting together as you replayed Night’s words over in your head. “He’s alive.”
Your words confused the advisor, and he glanced around the garden as if there might be someone else around that could make sense of all this. Instead he found the usual sounds of waterfalls and wildlife. Not to mention your crazed sounding revelations. Maybe it was time you finally snapped, the knowledge of all this eventually getting to you. But, that wasn’t the case. Mr. Night’s words just made you realize something in yourself, something that only served to further the idea that life really wasn’t so black and white. Even with you.
Nevaeh was gone, and Balem was alive. And it was only now that you comprehended why his words made you so angry. You felt for the loss of your friend, truly you did. But, when Balem said those cruel words, it wasn’t the grief of her loss that hurt you. But, rather grief for your own musings. Nevaeh was dead, and Balem still stood before you. Unharmed, and as well as anyone could be after an attempt on their life. And that was a relief to you. You were happy that he was well, that he could still stand there before you in all his confident glory like he always did. You ached for her loss, but you were more elated by his survival and that very thought disgusted you. That’s why his words cut so deep for you, because he so casually made you realize how selfish you could be. All because of him. In that moment, his life was more important to you than a ‘serving girl’ as he so nonchalantly put it on most occasions.
You closed your eyes in defeat, heart wrenching at your emotions. “Oh god…” If his advisor wasn’t here, you were positive you would’ve sank onto the ground in a ball of self pity. Everyone sought to explain your feelings for you lately, but you didn’t need them to verify anything for you. It seems you were perfectly capable of approaching that understanding on your own. It may not be love, you thought. But, it certainly couldn’t be classified as nothing anymore.
“I can’t go…”
You dropped from the rock, pulling your boots back on and attempting to get passed the splice. Only he appeared to have expected such a reaction, and with a wave of his hand two guards grabbed your arms lifting you easily from the ground and carrying you off into the alcazar.
***
“Let me go!” You fought desperately against their tight hold, heels barely scraping the ground as the doors to Balem’s chambers slid open. It was the last place you wanted to be, but no matter the fight you put up you still ended up back here. It was just like the first time you saw him. Only this time you weren’t laying at his feet. But, the guards threw you to the ground as soon as you entered the room, making you catch yourself on your hands and knees.
“Mr. Night.” Balem was sitting at his private dinner table, playing with the bottom of his wine glass once you came in. His eyes were trained on the wine sloshing around, but it was obvious he was still aware of his surroundings. “Is that really necessary?” He took a sip of his wine, his eyes moving to the side to take in the scene.
“She refused to come, my lord.” The splice bowed upon being addressed, a concerned look on his face. He knew you were particularly special to the Primary, roughing you up was the last thing he wanted. “Forgive me, but I tried every-”
“Enough.” Balem held his hand up, no longer interested in the details of the story. All he wanted was for you to be here, and seeing as how that wish was met he cared little for the rest of the reasons. “Leave us. Now.”
The guards and advisor bowed once more, exiting the room and leaving you to kneel on the ground. You didn’t want to move, because that meant seeing him. Even speaking felt difficult, as much as you wanted to yell at him for all of this harsh treatment, you simply kept your mouth shut. Not that any of this behavior was pleasing to the Primary. You could almost feel his anger in the air.
“Get up.”
Ignoring him would only make it worse, and that was something you weren’t keen on dealing with. With as little joy as possible, you rose to your feet, smoothing out your shirt and trudging along until you stood at the table. He wasn’t in any mood to play games, and just when you stood before him he looked up at you. It was the first time in hours that you saw those green eyes of his, the very ones that made you nervous and excited. Only this time there was far more to it, a feeling that was almost indescribable for you.
“Sit.”
He used his boot to push the other chair out, eyes still fixated on your sullen form. It was hard to tell what he was thinking, but his intense gaze was enough to make you believe it wasn’t positive. Emotions aside, you fell back into the chair, avoiding his glare as much as possible. It wasn’t an easy task considering how heated his stares could be, but you tried all the same.
Balem watched you, taking in your appearance as if this was his first time seeing you. You wore clothes that didn’t quite suit your beauty, something he found rather disappointing. And as much as he wanted to address your poor choice in attire, he opted for lighter conversation. Anything to regain your attention once more.
“Where were you?”
“The gardens.” You answered curtly, trying hard to keep your sights set on the elaborate table cloth. It was proving difficult though, because how could you ignore the aura of power around such a man. Every little movement of his was beckoning you to look, but in your current state you didn’t think you could handle such a thing.
“And what did you think of them?”
His attempts at polite conversation were nerve wracking, each sentence that left his lips making you curl back into your seat even more. It’s not that you didn’t enjoy the idea of them, but every part of you just wanted to take off running right now. You shifted in your seat, twiddling your thumbs as you rested your hands on the table. It was a minor distraction from him, not that it helped at all. It only made you realize how close you two were right now. His hand was only inches away, still clutching his glass as he rolled the stem of it between his fingers.
“They were beautiful.” You choked out, nerves becoming unsettled as he reached over you and grabbed some fruit from the bowl. The entire time you held your breath, heart beating madly in your chest when the very air around him swept by you. How one man caused you such excitement was disturbing, but you couldn’t let him know that. Because, no matter how you spun your words he would immediately shun your emotions. That much, you knew.
“Look at me.”
You stiffened at his demand, anxieties kicking in when you fully comprehended his words. It was only a matter of time before he realized how reluctant you were to even meet his gaze. But, that was the last thing you wanted to do. If only he knew what was racing through your mind, then he wouldn’t be asking such a thing of you. Looking into those eyes was a dangerous game to play, and if you didn’t avoid it something told you it’d be the end of you.
“My little dove.” Balem leaned over to you, eyes looking you up and down as if he was assessing your behavior. He imagined you were still angry with him, something he figured he could remedy later. But, your lack of interest in conversation was growing tiresome for him. Whatever your issues were, he had no attraction to them. He just yearned for your company, but this wasn’t it. There was a gentleness in you that was lacking, something that irked the Primary to no end. He longed for the woman who had that fire in her eyes, and right now this wasn’t you. So, he lifted his hand, gripping your chin gently and turning you to look at him. And just as your eyes met, the doors slid open, a single servant waltzing in with dinner. A true heaven-sent for you.
It offered a momentary distraction for Balem, and he sighed as he let you go and waved the girl on over. But, you hadn’t moved. Instead you found yourself staring at him, and in that moment it was like a crushing blow to your heart. Everything you tried to avoid was now before your eyes, and nothing was going to save you from it. All you knew, was that you had to get away and quickly. Because, staying here and dealing with your conflicting feelings for him would only hurt.
“I-” The words wouldn’t come out, your resolve slowly falling to pieces the more you took him in. It was true, you admitted to yourself. True, that his well being meant something to you now and having him perfectly fine in front of you made you elated. Yet, the reasoning behind that revelation was nothing that brought you joy. Only pain led down that road, and it wasn’t something you were eager to put up with. So, with all the courage you could muster you begged him for your release. Not only from this planet, but from the potential heartache of his rejections. “I want to go back to earth. Please…”
The servant was moving closer, tray in hand as she made to lay it on the table. But, you had chosen a poor time to convey your desires to him. Your words immediately took him by surprise, his eyes narrowing into threatening slits when he made to look at you again. This time you held his gaze, faltering only when he yelled his displeasure at the servant.
“Get out.”
She looked confused, barely able to place the tray down as he ordered her away. “My lord?”
“GET OUT!!!”
His voice made you both flinch, the serving girl taking the food and practically sprinting from his chambers. You, on the other hand, stayed put in your seat, meeting his icy glare.
“Balem-”
He slammed his wine glass onto the table top, cracking the edges of it as he seethed with rage. You had never seen him this way, not to this extent and it frightened you. Where all this anger came from, you didn’t know. But, he was not going to let you go lightly.
“You are never leaving this planet for as long as I live…”
His tone was cold, even, as if every word he said was a threat. It made you shiver in fear, eyes wide with worry as he leaned over until your noses were nearly touching.
“And I assure you, little bird-” The usual mirth in your pet name was now gone, and in its place was now a voice that sounded almost disappointed and rejected. “That could be for another thousand years.”
