i found a pretty good video about seville's semana santa (the largest in the country) in case anyone is interested!!!
youtube
#spain#semana santa#traditions#i've actually only seen one procession in my life and it was last year here in madrid#it was pretty impressive!! but madrid doesn't really have a big semana santa spirit so i imagine in places like seville or cordoba it's cra#we were gonna go to lorca's semana santa this year but in the end we didn't#but yeah! i also learned a bunch of stuff through this video cause once again i know very little about semana santa. i'm not religious#and neither is my family so we don't really care. tho as it's explained there it's not really about religion for many it's just tradition#it actually reminded me a lot of moros i cristians which is a festivity i'm a lot more familiar with#moros i cristians is more celebratory and fun than semana santa which is very solemn#but the spirit of the community coming together and the different groups and the drinking is very similar#but at a very small scale obvs. seville is like spain's 4th largest city and has 60 hermandades#my dad's hometown has like 6k inhabitants and 6 escuadras#Youtube

A Supermarket in California
by Allen Ginsberg
What thoughts I have of you tonight, Walt Whitman, for I walked down the sidestreets under the trees with a headache self-conscious looking at the full moon. In my hungry fatigue, and shopping for images, I went into the neon fruit supermarket, dreaming of your enumerations! What peaches and what penumbras! Whole families shopping at night! Aisles full of husbands! Wives in the avocados, babies in the tomatoes!–and you, Garcia Lorca, what were you doing down by the watermelons?
I saw you, Walt Whitman, childless, lonely old grubber, poking among the meats in the refrigerator and eyeing the grocery boys. I heard you asking questions of each: Who killed the pork chops? What price bananas? Are you my Angel? I wandered in and out of the brilliant stacks of cans following you, and followed in my imagination by the store detective. We strode down the open corridors together in our solitary fancy tasting artichokes, possessing every frozen delicacy, and never passing the cashier.
Where are we going, Walt Whitman? The doors close in an hour. Which way does your beard point tonight? (I touch your book and dream of our odyssey in the supermarket and feel absurd.) Will we walk all night through solitary streets? The trees add shade to shade, lights out in the houses, we’ll both be lonely. Will we stroll dreaming of the lost America of love past blue automobiles in driveways, home to our silent cottage? Ah, dear father, graybeard, lonely old courage-teacher, what America did you have when Charon quit poling his ferry and you got out on a smoking bank and stood watching the boat disappear on the black waters of Lethe?

a pretty piece of flesh please
This is a scene from Federico Garcia Lorca’s 1933 surreal drama, Bodas de sangre (Blood Wedding). Set in rural Spain, the story concerns a doomed love triangle swirling around the nameless Bride, Groom and Leonardo Felix, who once was in love with the Bride but is now married to another. Driving the tragedy is the Groom’s bitter Mother, who has lost her husband and older son to an ancient feud with the Felix family. It is during the wedding itself that the Bride unexpectedly flees with Leonardo, leaving the Groom with no choice but to follow them. The two men kill each other and the rest of the play deals with the fallout for all the female characters.
Lorca loved his psychedelic Romanticism and this play does not disappoint. During the chase scene all manner of bizarreness happens, from a trio of otherworldly lumberjacks to the Moon making a walk-on appearance.
Perhaps the strangest, though, is Death herself, who takes the appearance of a curvaceous pauper; except for some stage directions, however, she is only referred to as the “Beggar Woman.” As the scene opens, two young women sit, spinning wool, while the Little Girl (who turns up in the play whenever a comedic line is needed) runs about being sassy. Soon Death shows up and asks, Yon bèl moso vyann, tanpri. [A pretty piece of flesh, please.]
LITTLE GIRL. Ale ale! [Go away!] BEGGAR WOMAN. Poukisa? [Why?] LITTLE GIRL. Paske w ap plenyen: ale. [Because you’re whining: go away.] BEGGAR WOMAN. Mwen te kapab mande pou je ou! Yon bann zwazo swiv mwen: ou vle youn? [I could ask for your eyes! A flock of birds is following me: do you want one?] LITTLE GIRL. Mwen vle ale lwen ou! [I want to get away from you!] YOUNG WOMAN I. [To the Beggar Woman.] Pa koute l! [Don’t listen to her!] YOUNG WOMAN II. Eske ou soti nan rivyè a? [Are you from the river?] BEGGAR WOMAN. Se konsa mwen te vini. [That’s how I got here.] YOUNG WOMAN I. [Timidly.] Èske mwen ka poze w yon kesyon? [Can I ask you a question?] BEGGAR WOMAN. Mwen te wè yo; yo pral byento la: de torrent lapè finalman ant gwo wòch yo, de gason nan pye chwal la. Mouri nan bote nan mitan lannwit lan. [Pauses.] Mouri, wi, mouri. [I saw them; they will be there soon: two river torrents at peace at last between the rocks, two men trampled between the horse’s feet. Dying in the beauty of the night. Dying, yes, dying.] LITTLE GIRL. Fèmen bouch, dam toutouni, fèmen bouch! [Shut up, naked lady, shut up!] BEGGAR WOMAN. Li jis. Tout sa ki rete yo se flè an lò sou sab sal. [Flowers fill their eye sockets, and their teeth are two handfuls of hard snow. They both fall, as the bride arrives, dressed in blood-stained hair. Under the blood-stained sheets they will return, carried on the shoulders of a handsome boy. So there is nothing more to be done. It is fair. All that remains are golden flowers on the dirty sand.][Vanishes.] YOUNG WOMAN I. Sal se sab la. [The sand is dirty.] YOUNG WOMAN II. Sou flè an lò. [On the golden flower.] LITTLE GIRL. Sou flè an lò a mò yo pote tounen soti nan kouran an. Brown se youn, mawon se lòt la. Ki rossinyol ki nan lonbraj vole ak fè jouda sou flè an lò! [Beneath the golden flower they carry them from the river. Dark-haired is one, dark-haired is the other. Let the shadow of the nightingale fly and call to the golden flower!]

Star Trek: Discovery Narrative Highlights
So I really like Discovery, but differently than I like other Star Treks. My love for Voyager, for instance, is based off the sense of found-family in the face of sci-fi shenanigans. I could pick out favorite episodes, but my favorite episodes don't necessarily represent the epitome of what I love about the show, y'know?
It's different with Disco. There are concrete moments from through out the show that made me go "Okay, I like this, I want this. More of this." Here's some of them! This is indulgent and all from memory
Season 1 - Klingons Speak Klingon
In a story about Klingons fearing the Federation as an institution which will irrevocably alter their culture, the Klingons actually speak Klingon. Love it. Season 1 - Gabriel Lorca
I loved seeing a Star Fleet captain who seemed to have ascended because of his skill at war: a trait which ordinarily would not elevate one within Starfleet service, per se. It made him interesting. Your mileage may vary on where this went, but. He's still a big appeal on rewatch.
Season 2 - Queer People Helping Queer People
The introduction of Jet Reno is one of my favorite hallmarks in the show. I love Jet, and I love the way she serves as a foil to every other character. But best of all, I loved the scene when she is talking to Hugh Culber about how distant he's been from his husband (since coming back from the dead, so, you know) and helps him by relating her own story about her wife, who is now passed. To say I'm happy to see queer stories on Star Trek is a massive understatement, but this was the moment it locked in for me. In the world of the Federation, there's no difference between being queer or straight and anyone could've talked Hugh out of his funk. But in our world, it's usually queer people helping queer people make sense of their experiences. Recognizing the importance of that distinction and going with the queers-helping-queers take is a really big deal for me.
Season 2 - Amanda
This is hands-down the best representation of Amanda we've ever been given and she is so wonderfully human and warm that it helps you understand Spock and Michael so much better. I don't know what to say other than that, I love her.
Season 3 - The Future
I love that they went not just into the future, but further into the future than any mainline trek lore has gone. Hell yes. I'm bummed it's kinda a post-Utopian mess, but I get storywise why that's the case. I love the future starships, I love the future technology, I like that we just "BZP" to wherever we want to be in the ship now. In a show increasingly steeped in centuries of canon lore, it's smart and challenging to try to do "a millennium in the future."
Season 3 - Queer Family
Queer Family! Queer Family in Star Trek! This is my queers-helping-queers point but dialed up to 11. Love it, would do anything for it.
Season 4 - Artificial Intelligence
The ship is alive and she's named herself. This comes to a head in an episode in Season 4 where Paul Stamets feels very hesitant about this, after the plot of Season 2 was trying to stop AI from destroying the galaxy. There's this whole Measure of a Man but Not Quite Because Its the B Story thing going on, but at the end of it, there's a twist. Paul eventually learns to accept his new crewmate, but then he asks the person in-charge of the inquest "What would you have done if I said I wasn't comfortable serving with an AI?" and the dude goes "I would've assigned you to another ship. This was never about whether she has a soul or whatever, it's about if you can learn to accept that with you 22nd century brain." And that's.... that's great.
Season 4 - Mental Health
Mental Health is a thread running through some of Discovery (Season 2 flirts with Spock's neurodivergence, for instance) but never more than in Season 4. Hugh Culber, the ship's ray of sunshine and de facto counselor, is in bad shape, mentally, and he needs help. But the best moment is when the away-team is beset by chemical memories of panic and basically rendered useless with fear... except for Detmer, who helps them all get through it. When asked why she was unaffected, she says "Oh I totally was affected, but after my grievous injury during the war, I went to therapy for the PTSD and learned some coping strategies" AND THAT'S WHAT SAVES THE GALAXY.
Anyway, this is very indulgent and probably nobody reads this, but thanks if you did.
#star trek#star trek discovery#disco#Jet reno#Michael Burnham#Hugh Culber#Paul Stamets#keyla detmer#i will probably delete this

i got thrown into the hetalia fandom and i got sold spaus propaganda when browsing austrias tag. would you spare a crumb of spaus brainrot o' enlightend one ? Ꮚ˘ ꈊ ˘ Ꮚ
omg hi and welcome to out little spaus nation, please take a seat and get comfortable bc once you get sold spaus propaganda there's no going back. you're here forever now, hope this helps!
- they snatched the arranged marriage and strangers to lovers trope and then fucking SPRINTED with it. good for them, good for them!
- antonio would conquer the world just to put it at roderish’s feet; roderich would then wash the blood off antonio’s hands. they are odysseus and penelope. i said what i said
- antonio was roderich’s first love, first lover and first real heartbreak; first everything. no one could ever come close to that afterwards - antonio has engraved his name on roderich’s bones, one side of roderich’s bed is always left waiting for antonio, he haunts roderich’s dreams to this day
- the intensity of antonio’s feelings for roderich is close to religious. roderich was his crown, his atonement, his hometown to return to when everything seemed to be falling apart. he continued to wear his ring for years after the split; he only took it off after the war of austrian succession because roderich confronted him with “how dare you to fight me while wearing it; if you decided to be a traitor then at least go all the way with it”
- he was being a hypocrite. he was wearing his ring from time to time, too. just not on the battlefield
- they know everything about each other, but for the longest time they had to pretend like they didn’t. roderich knows that antonio has a habit of throwing and smashing things when he’s angry, that he’s possessive and his ego’s through the roof, and still loves him anyway. antonio knows that roderich is a hypocrite and a liar who wouldn't mind getting his hands dirty to stay in power even when it comes to his family, and still loves him anyway. a match made in heaven (or hell)
- they still found each other again anyways. once the dust settled, it just felt like the most right decision to make. there was nothing they could give to each other anymore, stripped of their power and spite, humbled by the passage of time. so now, as they lost everything they once had as the powerhouse of europe, nothing in the world has the power to tear them apart - because it’s a choice now, for once made out of love, and not politics
- “i will fall in love with you over and over again; i don’t care how, where, or when; no matter how long it's been you’re mine; don’t tell me you’re not the same person; you’re always my husband and I’ve been waiting, waiting…”
- sonetos del amor oscuro by federico garcia lorca are THE spaus sonnets of all time. antonio probably cried when it was first published in 1984; by coincidence it was also around that time when he and roderich started to mend their relationships

hewo!! I'm so happy to see you!, i wanted to keep this conversation going because i really enjoy interacting with writers that i like, even though you're the first one I actually have interacted with lol, and I'm happy that you want to learn Spanish, i really really love when people from other none Spanish speaking countries try saying something in Spanish, it's the little accents that come with it that just made me melt, a clear example could be seen while ghost and soap where in las almas, i just want to speak and with time they might pick some words even if they don't know what they mean it's just the cutest thing, and Spanish could be a bit hard for some people but I'm glad to help if I'm needed, hope you're having a great day and take care!
~🐰❄️
Hewwo!! I kid you not, i teared up a bit reading your message, you're such a sweetheart, bunny, I just can't. Lowkey wanna pick you up and carry around like a little friend. I'm so honoured to be the first writer you talked to! I hope you find even more people who will enjoy interacting with you as much as I do <33
And yeah, I reeeeally wanna learn Spanish. Have been for years, in my family no one speaks it properly, dad and sister know like some basics, and that's it. Unfortunately, I couldn't take any courses in school/uni, and learning myself is hard cuz I'm not very organized. But I hope maybe after I finish uni! It's a beautiful language, and there are some Spanish speaking authors (Federico Garcia Lorca first and foremost, obv) I'd love to read in their native language. And thank you so much for offering help! I might indeed ask some things here and there, especially since I'm planning to write for Valeria in the near future :3
And oh yeah, even I heard that accent >< I do think that accents are sweet, too. And also I think that every one of task force 141 would be sooo eager to learn new language! Gaz (if not fluent already) is having the easiest time, for sure, and takes a proper approach, like with self-teaching books or even full lessons. Price is learning languages on the go, he's just superior like that - yeah, he might pick up a book if he has time, but mostly he just absorbs is from listening to people talk around him. Ghost is probably using those audio guides to help him learn (and still has an accent as thick as his thighs). Instead of asking people to translate stuff to him, he just stares and nods as if he already understands everything (until the person speaking to him finally realizes he didn't understand shit), and uses words he's sure he knows to pretend he's totally fluent. And Soap is the one who'll be chaotically picking up separate words and immediately inserting them into his speech with that horrible accent and no care in the world. If you correct him, he'll be THRILLED, like, aye, bonnie, please, say that again. And again. He needs to hear that R and L, if you talk to him in Spanish enough, he'll melt away completely.
They are adorable. I think kisses are good incentives to encourage them actually learn the language properly (watch Price and Gaz suddenly lose all memory of ever learning it, lol)

in order of appearance, they are:
massiel: she was the first spanish winner in eurovision in 1968 with 'la la la'. later in life she denounced the usage of the francoist regime of eurovision as a propaganda machine, and has remained vinculated to eurovision.
marisol: she was a child actress who suffered great abuse (as is usually the case) during her childhood and teenage years, working both as an actress and as a singer (she mostly starred - especially as a kid - in musical movies). she was also a member of the spanish communist party and has marxist ideas <3.
ana belén: she is one of the most iconic singers from the transition period (1975-1978) alongside her husband, víctor manuel (he was also photographied by my grandpa but i couldn't find a way his picture could fit). her songs have a strong social and political content, and she has also taken part in movies both as an actress and as a director. one of her most iconic songs is 'el hombre del piano', a spanish version of billy joel's piano man.
julio iglesias: he is perhaps one of the most successful spanish-speaking singers ever, having sold more than 150 million records. he is also part of the latin songwriters hall of fame. in 1983 he was celebrated for being the artist with songs in the most languages in the world, and in 2013 for being the best-selling male latin artist of all-time. oh and he has had a star in hollywood walk of fame since 1985, as well as having various grammys, latin grammys, billboard music awards, american music awards, etc. so yeah. he's a big deal (he's also the father of enrique iglesias who you might have already know). he represented spain in eurovision in 1970, with 'gwendolyne', which was his breakout hit.
nino bravo: he was one of the biggest spanish singers in the first half of the 70s, with massive hits and an incredible rise to fame that was tragically short, as he died in a car crash in 1973, when he was 28 (he only had 3 years of fame). my grandpa was a close friend of his, he even went to his wedding and appears in his memories. anyways, despite his short-lived fame, many of his songs are iconic and classics, possibly its best and most popular one is 'un beso y una flor', a karaoke classic.
joan manuel serrat: he is the singlemost imporant catalan singer-songwriter in history, with songs both in his native tongue and spanish (he's also my mother's favourite singer <3). he has a very poetic lyrical style, being influenced by poets like lorca, neruda, benedetti, machado, or alberti, and he even has some albums singing poetry of different spanish poets (the miguel hernández one is insane). he was also the pioneer of the nova cançó catalan movement, and he has been galardonated with highest honors in spain, as well as receiving the honorary latin grammy in 2014. his song 'mediterráneo' is for many - including myself - quite possibly the best spanish song ever (at least lyrically).
joaquín sabina: he is like a friend to me. my parents love him so they would always play his songs in long car rides and now i also love him his songs are incredible. he's actually a good friend of serrat and have toured together, their styles are similar only sabina isn't catalan (he's andalusian but lives in madrid) and his songs are more like stories than poems, he is inspired in baroque literature more than 20th century poets like serrat. just like serrat, he also has honorary awards by the ondas awards, the latin grammys, and various cities and regions in spain. it is literally impossible to choose only one of his songs to showcase here, but i'm afraid i have to go with 'y nos dieron las diez', one of his most popular songs, a karaoke classic, and the song we scream the loudest on the car with my family.
alejandro sanz: he is the most recent of all these singers, and currently the most famous spanish male singer i would say, only second to rosalía. he has won 22 latin grammys and 4 grammys, and he's collabed with artists such as alicia keys, shakira, or marc anthony. he's huge is what i'm trying to say lol. his breakout hit was 'corazón partío', in 1997, that still remains one of his most popular songs.
lola flores: she is everything to me istg. anyways. lola flores was a flamenco singer, dancer, and actress, that remains as one of the best folclóricas in history. just so you know, folclóricas were basically flamenco divas, think of them like that. she was iconic as fuck, antifa, feminist, and funny as hell. she is, as the english wikipedia says, 'a spanish pop culture icon'. you might also know her grand-daughter, actress alba flores. her most well-known song is probably 'ay pena, penita, pena'.
rocío jurado: just like lola flores, she is one of the most iconic and best folclóricas in history. just as her, she was both a singer and an actress, and she is remembered for having one of the best voices ever; in fact, in the year 2000 she won the new york times' prize 'the voice of the millenium' for best female voice of the 20th century. she is also iconic and regarded almost like a minor goddess in flamenco circles (just like lola flores). her most well known song is the iconic 'como una ola'.

A supermarket in California
What thoughts I have of you tonight, Walt Whitman, for I walked down the sidestreets under the trees with a headache self-conscious looking at the full moon. In my hungry fatigue, and shopping for images, I went into the neon fruit supermarket, dreaming of your enumerations! What peaches and what penumbras! Whole families shopping at night! Aisles full of husbands! Wives in the avocados, babies in the tomatoes!-and you, García Lorca, what were you doing down by the watermelons? The trees add shade to shade, lights out in the houses, we'll both be lonely. Berkeley 1955

dead reckoning
✧ dead reckoning: finding yourself bothered by somebody's death more than you would have expected, even if they were only an abstract presence in your life.
The mountain path was gorgeous in the late autumn, crisp air dense with the sicksweet scent of leaves fallen to the earth. They crunched beneath her horse's hooves, painting the trail behind her with a waving, patterned blanket of golds, yellows, of red.
She had not thought that she would have found herself in Bern again so soon after the end of it all, after the battle with the dragon, after putting down Nergal. There had been such immense relief, the tight joy that squeezed at all of their hearts – as though they could not have believed their good fortune, to make it through to see the other side.
It was still so surreal to her, the dizzying course that her life had taken, shuttling her forth to experiences and lands so foreign that she had almost forgotten what had set her on her path to begin with.
Dismounting stirred the leaves at her feet, snapping the twigs that lay just underneath with a crackle that raked across the silence of the little hamlet she had come across.
No. Come across not by happenstance, but sought out.
It was...empty. She had known that it would be, but there was a part of her that wanted to see for herself, to set her own eyes upon the waste that had been laid upon her behalf. If either of these facts confirmed – that it had been done, and that it had been done for her – was supposed to calm her heart, then it failed.
Lyn's fingers trembled, curling into fists the farther her footsteps took her into Taliver territory. There was a part of her, the vicious, snarling beast in her heart that so few had the stalworthy spirit to face and acknowledge, that flickered images of their final moments before her eyes, the shock rimming their eyes in white and the screams trembling upward in the air, heard by none but each other and their mighty intruder.
The crunch beneath her foot came more delicate to her ears, brought her up short as she drew her step back, knelt down to brush aside the carnage of leaves to find a small, crumpled doll, the length of its tiny blade snapped beneath her step.
Lyn traced her fingertips thoughtfully over the shape of the thing, uncertain of the tug of her heartstrings – had they children? Had they families, children borne of the women stolen for generations of their brutality? Had Wallace - ?
Brow furrowed as she lifted the little toy up, the prick of rattan against her fingers, and she felt the lick of flames course through her breast anew.
No. This was no Taliver child's toy. This was the craftsmanship of Sacae – it may or may not have been Lorca, but it was kin to her all the same.
When her footsteps drew her to what seemed to be the center of their hamlet, she knelt – no town and no camp, somehow, but clearly an area theirs and lived in; however disgusting she found the notion, this was their home. It took her a moment of steady breathing to quiet her mind, enough to set her hands to practiced tasks – digging incense and bundles of pine and sage from her pack, the wineskin, small carved figurines, and arranging them before her. She considered each with a heavy sincerity, not speaking the words of rite as she had when she had buried the bodies of her people, but with an intensity that tightened her throat as she lit the incense, the pine and the sage, and scattered them to ash before her.
Gently, Lyn doled out portions of the wine into small puddles amongst the ash, taking a careful, thoughtful swig from the skin herself before setting it down, her heartbeat pounding a baleful drum melody in her gut as she, with finality she laid the souls of her people to rest.
Her hands shook as she retrieved the vial from where it had rested, secured and heavy in her satchel, radiating such intent that she had been afraid it might have eaten through the glass, through the cloth and leather of her pack, even the flesh of her horse's haunches.
She wasn't sure what had been in it, could scarcely recall when she had asked Canas for it and had not thought to listen when he had begun to detail every ounce of darkness that he had allowed to seep into it – did not know if it was magical, or if it was merely the corrosive forces of Mother Earth herself, or if it was some unholy marriage of the two.
It was, he had assured her, as vile as he could fathom to make it.
Her eyes flicked over the liquid inside, creeping up and down the sides of the vial with the motion of her hand before she broke the seal, the acrid stink burning her nose as the air rushed in and met with the waiting malintent of the poison's surface.
A quick breath – in, out – and she raised her arm parallel to the earth.
"I come to you in challenge, as leader of the Lorca, the people who you have so wronged," she announced to the open air, her breath curling in mist at the chill in the air. "I come to you with my blade and my heart bared, and I will not leave until I have satisfaction."
The challenge was never meant to be metaphor, and she grit her teeth around the final word, jerking her chin up.
"For what you have done, you will never know the kind hand of Father Sky, never wrap in the warm embrace of Mother Earth, and your spirits will be condemned to wander in perpetuity," she continued, fighting as her throat tightened, a tremulous vein weaving its way into her voice. "I do not have the offerings of the noble dead for you, only the shame that you have brought – to yourselves, to your families, and to those who carry your blood forward. A thousand curses upon you, those who haunt this land, the Taliver!"
Briefly, she saw the broad, whiskery smile of her father, his proud leathery face creasing with his kindness for her – she saw flickering before her the vibrancy of her mother's eyes, those eyes that she carried herself, the eyes that she had carried forward from her father...
Her hand tipped, the offering she had brought to the fallen Taliver sloshing to the side -
"Lady Lyndis. If you truly wished revenge upon them, you should be happy. Hatred can be strength. On the plains, you needed that strength to survive. But left too long, hatred can twist and consume you."
And, unbidden, she saw her granduncle's face. Proud, in his way, long and bearing the noble features of the royal family of Caelin – so alike his brother in structure, but their hearts polar opposites. She had not been there, when Lundgren had cursed his brother to a long, slow death, but she felt the burn of indignation as it was happening, the visceral hate that charred her innards.
When she blinked, the world misted, her hand shaking terribly now, wracked with the sob that she could not voice – whether out of pride, or out of pain, she could not decide.
But she could not bring herself to do it, to salt this field with the cruelty that had been shown to her – to her people, those closest to her heart, once and again.
"There is no kindness left in this world for you - !" The rapidity that the strength of her voice deteriorated shocked her, and Lyn ground her jaw tighter, willing the conviction of her rage to carry her forward as it always had, but...
"You do not deserve this - !"
She could not decide who she spoke to, then, her voice warping around the words until she brought the vial close to her chest and crumpled forward into weeping, her tears dripping down her face to speckle the ground, to mingle with the wine and the ash that she had scattered there, that evaporated into the air and seeped into the earth.
Was it they, those who had earned the hatred of the peoples who they had burnt and pillaged, who did not deserve her kindness – or was it she, last borne of those peoples, whose heart still beat in her chest in spite of all those who had challenged her, who had seen the fallen of her loved ones and decided that she would be the final punctuation on Caelin, on the Lorca?
She who did not deserve to bear the weight of a revenge unattainable?
