1, 7 and 17 for the ask meme!
Lets go ahead and do this with my Telvanni Twins; Lorana and Brisala Alithar!
How are their parents? Are they good? Are they terrible? Are they dead?
If they're not physically dead, they are dead in the eyes of the Twins.
They were of a lower level family name, and thus were kind of in servitude to a higher level Telvanni family. Twins are a rare birth and their parents used this to leverage themselves to others and ingratiate themselves by flaunting their children around.
But also as twin children, it was a double package to try and make the two of them fight each other to ensure the strongest one would carry the family name. They thankfully never got that aggressive against each other, and combined the two of them realized what their parents were trying to do.
In an very long and bloody and traumatic story that I will have to write out one day, Lorana and Brisala with their childhood friend Adana manage to kill the higher up Telvanni family that had been commanding them since birth. Once that was done, the Twins took over their family's assets and lands and banished their parents. If they so dared to return, they would be made into fertilizer for their new Towers.
There was no parental love in this family. Only what could be used and benefited from these children who were seen as good luck in the eyes of others.
How easy is it to make them cry?
Their tears have long since dried up.
Anything that could've been used to make them cry has either been locked deep and far away, or has already died and made them cry.
But if we must answer: it must be an earth-shattering revelation that shakes them to their core to make them cry once again.
For Lorana, it was the reveal of a long lost love whom she thought lost in the burning remains of his family's farmland. Returned with a different name, different personality, and a warning of a Writ being issued to one of the Twin's name while dressed in Morag Tong uniform. While in the family tomb where his sister and parents were last laid to rest.
After all these years, she thought him dead and gone and her fault for bringing ruin to his family and now he's back? Never telling her he was alive? And just waltzing back into their lives to casually say his organization was paid to kill one of them and then disappearing again. It was all too much and she wailed in that tomb until she was hoard and dry of tears again.
For Brisala it's harder. She last cried when she wasn't able to save her best friend Vinya. Who was carrying a child, Adana's. Despite all her knowledge of necromancy and the manipulation of life energy she could not hold onto the fading bit of life that was practically in her hands. She watched it fade and slip away like water between her fingers.
To have the knowledge and ability, and sacrificing a bit of your own life to try and keep this one alive, just this one please. And watch it still fade away.
Every since then Brisala has spared no more tears. There shan't ever be anymore tears, not while she still stand. And even beyond the point where her mortal body can stand. She'll make sure there will be nothing left to cause her sister and friends anymore tears.
Do they have any pets?
Oh yes plenty! Need some to keep the sanity in check.
Lorana has a whole flock of bantam guar. Of every color and size and personality. Every day she goes out and tends to them herself. There is a name for each and every one of them too, and the flock just keeps growing somehow but she does not mind. They're so cute and sweet, and remind her of happier times.
Brisala only has one that manages to stick around. A tuxedo vvardvark named Arvek who has one braincell and he left that one back at home. A bit dumb but really cuddly, had a bad habit of eating the mushroom chips Brisala has for herself. But he's very cute and very warm so Brisala enjoys his company.

6 and 10 for an oc of your choosing!
Hi hi, thanks for the ask! I'm going to mix it up and go with my one of my Telvanni Twins, Lorana Alithar!
Based off this ask meme.
6. If you could give them one modern amenity, what would you give them and why?
I saw this answer and immediately knew what to give her. And I'm a little embarrassed to share because this modern amenity is a side hobby of mine that I enjoy using.
For context, Lorana Alithar is a Telvanni Master. Like all Masters, they are deep into research and have lots of data to store and organize. Her specialization is memories and memory stones. How to create new memory stones, how memories are stored and formed, neurological and meta-physical connections of them, etc, etc. She doesn't have the same perfect memory as an Altmer, but through her research and magic she has achieved a similar result. Even so, she is one if not the only mage she knows that is doing focused studies into memories and there is a lot of data and notes to organize.
So what better tool to give her to put in data that can search and filter them than an excel sheet.
It would be like a whole different kind of magic to her. Able to put in all the data she wants and have special commands to highlight, filter, and organize them based on categories requested and BAM there it is. She'd liken it to Dwemer technology and magic but not quite.
All this to say that this was a long winded answer to me saying I want to give Lorana a computer and let her go off.
10. What's a seemingly minor decision they made that wound up majorly impacting their life?
In Lorana's youth, she was an annoying Telvanni brat that thought she was better than anyone else and snubbed outsiders. Which is to say, she was incredibly sheltered but also neglected by the adults in her life and just wandered around between teachers and made her own conclusions about people based on her lessons.
So when her friend Adana asked Lorana and her sister Brisala to go with him to their mutual friends farm in some part of Hlaalu providence, she didn't know if she wanted to.
And she was glad she did, because it was the start of a very cute and life changing meeting where Lorana met a sweet farmboy (brother to their mutual friend) who was her first crush and helped her open up and bond outside of her immediate family.
Who also when his family and sister were murdered because of a Telvanni plot, it ripped Lorana into pieces.
And when he reappeared, aged and jaded and full of trauma and rage, decades later it reopened wounds in Lorana and a now long journey of reconnecting and healing.
All because she tried to make friends outside of the Telvanni circle.

for the oc childhood asks, 2, 5, 9, and 15!
Thank you for the ask!
Let's go with the Telvanni Twins for this >:)
2. Where did your muse grow up? What was their home like? Did they like where they grew up?
Lorana and Brisala grew up in a typical Telvanni Tower establishment. Maybe not one as extravagant as a Telvanni Master, but still within the vein of fungal architecture in a closer community of Telvanni House members.
They would describe it as 'adequate' and 'structurally sound'.
This was not a house with love inside it.
The Twins were often given to tutors and taught all day, then the parents didn't really care what they did with their spare time. So long as it didn't bring shame to the Telvanni name, or they didn't kill themselves in a stupid manner, they were very hands-off.
Which gets flipped when the Twins are dragged and touted around as having been born as Twins from a lower named Telvanni member. Set pieces rather than individual people.
They did not like where they grew up.
5. Does your muse have any siblings? What was their relationship like growing up? Is it any different now?
Lorana and Brisala are the only ones born from their parents. As twin siblings growing up, they leaned on each other and supported each other where other adult supervision and parental care failed.
There was efforts to try and pit them against each other to encourage Telvanni aspirations and ambition, but having other avenues of support (their friend Adana and the Hlaaril family) they never quite turned on each other.
Brisala certainly feels lingering feelings of bitterness and jealousy toward Lorana as she is the 'second' child and thus would not be considered for taking over the family power. Lorana got the minimum amount of praise and encouragement from her parents as the firstborn, so she was just a touch better off.
After the big fallout and rise to the council, they have completely exiled their family from themselves. They as two people have taken on all of the Alithar name and power, and risen it themselves just as their parents wanted; through ambition and power and blood and murder.
The Twins cannot trust anyone else except themselves and their few, few, few friends. Nothing can get between the two of them, because either the siblings stick together or they both lose the last bastion of safety in a family member and they are alone in themselves.
9. What was your muse's education like? Did they go to school? Did they like it?
Telvanni education I imagine is somewhere along the lines of "hope and beg that a Master will take you in and teach you their secrets, or you steal it from others to elevate yourself". The Twins were in good association with Adana (a much higher family name Telvanni) and thus were allowed into much much higher classes than they otherwise would've had.
School is a loose term, Adana just wanted his two best friends with him and the Twins didn't want to be left behind. So the tutors let the Twins in and taught them next to him.
The education was good and through. They became accomplished mages and scholars because of it. It was probably the only time they were happy since they got to learn and do wacky experiments without parental supervision, lmao.
15. What's one childhood memory that has stuck with your muse over the years? What's it significance to your muse now?
Lorana remembers a sweet memory of sitting in the Hlaaril farm under a tree reading a book. And of Vanta Savini coming around and asking about what the book was. He took a genuine interest and patiently listen to Lorana explain and re-explain to make it digestible to someone not in the magical circles. Sweet puppy love, the beginning of something different than what she expected, but good.
It lives as just a memory to Lorana. Locked away in the depth of her mind to remind and torment her of what was lost and could never be regained again. At least not in that form. No matter, all that matters is that she is alive and she stay that way.
For Brisala, it's sitting around the tea table and gossiping and laughing with all her friends. Of happiness and companionship. Of finally finding a place in her life that fit her without question. Without expectations or threats. It was so, so sweet and comfortable. A beacon of life in her otherwise strange and hollow life.
It reminds Brisala that the only way to keep happiness is to protect it herself. It is a knife in her ribs digging and tearing to remember that it can always be taken away. Never. Let. It. Happen.

Hey, heard I could ask you about oc's. I don't know any of them, but if you could tell me. What are their favourite dumpling fillings.
Hi anon! Thank you for the ask :)
Most of my OCs are Bosmer so they usually abstain from anything plant based BUT if they could have that then:
The Oakvine Family - Lumping the family all together because all of them share my favorite flavor, which is pork and shrimp! Easy enough to get within Valenwood, and the perfect blend of protein (imo)
Lorana Alithar - Memory manipulation Telvanni Master, she is a big fan of spicy guar dumplings. Easy to eat with either hands or chopsticks, perfect for eating at the desk while she continues to research into the night with a little bit of kick to keep her up.
Brisala Alithar - Fungalmancer Telvanni Master it is no surprise that she loves mushroom and cheese dumplings, preferably deep fried. A balanced mix of savory and crunch. Made specifically with mushrooms she's grown for her own use. Absolutely the best meal to have at any time of the day in her opinion.
Thanks for the ask!

Random OC ask, summer game! ⛱️☀️🌊.
What your OCs or favorite characters would be doing on a beach? In case they absolutely can't go on a beach, what other summer activity do they enjoy?
Bonus level - once answered, pass this ask to 3 other people's inboxes!
Omg this is so lovely, thank you Rudy!
Yera would probably be more concerned with beach games since she's wary of deep water these days. Or if she's on Teldryn's shoulders in the water then she can be a menace with him until they both fall in the water and they get to the beach to dry off.
Faylen is probably enjoying the sunshine and rays, enjoying what wildlife she can see. But also absolutely having a photo shoot. She's got that like thin see-through beach dress over her bathing suit and she is flaunting it.
Kerasil is stuck between being the mother of the family and making sure none of them are getting into trouble... but also wanting to do all the wacky stuff on a beach. Running full blast down a sand dune without tripping, going diving in the ocean, beach volleyball death match, foraging on the tidepools. She would just be everywhere at once.
Lorana and Brisala hold the same sentiment while at the beach: be the hottest and most stylish people in a 10 mile radius. Exclusive beach patio to themselves, martini drinks, sunhats and sunglasses. They will not engage in lower beach activities such as playing.... unless it's that death match volleyball they're down for that.
Melar is off somewhere else away from the death match volleyball game and fishing. Peacefully fishing where he doesn't need to watch the kids anymore and can take a nap under his hat.

Lorana Alithar, Master Telvanni of the School of Illusions and Memory Manipulation, has a fun hobby on the side.
And that is a gaggle of no less than 20 bantam guars she takes care of and feeds everyday. Those are her pets, no one gets to care for them except her.
Yes, she memorized all their names, what use is her magic if not to assist remembering them all?

Saw a kissing prompt going around and thought to try out one with some characters.
Ft. Lorana Alithar and Savini Saresh (belongs to @quartervirus)
--
A kiss to gain something (Lorana x Savini)
"Savini, I can feel your eyes from across the room."
Lorana heard a huff and the flop of a body on her bed as she continued to write in her journal. On her desk were her collection of memory stones for her research, new glyphs freshly carved into it for experimentation. Scattered nearby were her quills and stacks of paper, along with her appraisal tools, and a highly coveted plate of cookies.
Butter Cookies freshly made by Deep-Waters, her Head of House, were coveted like rare and precious jewels that many of the other staff members would bargain for extra shares. Deep-Waters was a stern and stubborn woman, and everyone got an equal portion of her cookies no matter how much one groveled or begged.
Which made them a particularly vulnerable target considering the Morag Tong pouting on her bed.
Lorana paused in her writing to look back up at Savini, but discovered that he was no longer pouting on her bed. Sheets rumpled but empty, her eyes darted around her room before she quickly placed a hand over her cookies as a gauntlet covered one nearly stole away with one.
“For an assassin of such renown, you are terribly predictable.”
Savini sighed, thievery thwarted, and instead leaned on her desk to look over her journals.
“I still haven’t failed my mission,” he refuted. “The target is still present, just that it has a persistent guard that I need to distract.”
“Distract?” Lorana laughed, turned to look at Savini with her full attention. “I doubt you could distract me away from something as precious as this. Do you know how rare it is to get regular butter here in the Tower? And then the scale of operation that Deep-Waters does to feed not only the Tower staff, but the field workers as well as the garrison? I reckon we’ve bought out a small village worth of butter from the mainland and who knows when we’ll get another vendor to sell us that much and then ship it across the Inner Sea? I’d be a fool to move my hand that you’re trying to squirrel under to get at my cookies.”
And sure enough, in the middle of her rant Savini did try to slip his hand under Lorana’s own. She tugged the plate further away from sticky fingers but Savini was standing while she was sitting and he merely leaned over her head to try and reach at them. Lorana wasn’t going to give up her treat without a fight and finally stood up and lifted the plate up and away from him with levitation.
“That’s cheating!” Savini cried out, still trying to swat at the plate in the air. “Telvanni and their conniving ways.”
“It is the only way I can keep it away from you, you fetcher,” Lorana said. “No extra cookies for you.”
“Not even if I beg?” Savini asked, starting to put on his puppy dog eyes at her.
“Not even if you beg,” Lorana laughed.
It was then that she felt a hand around her waist. With a single tug, she was pulled right up against Savini with her hands bracing against his chestplate. Nose to nose, ruby eyes gazing into purple ones, Lorana had to hold back the gasp as he spoke,
“Not even if I bargain?”
He was using his deep voice, the one that rumbled in his chest. She knew better than to fall to his charms, but it always caught her off guard and she couldn’t help the flush she could feel in her ears at it. But she had to keep her wits about her, Savini used this voice to distract her as much as to seduce her.
“Depends on the bargain,” Lorana answered, testing him.
“A kiss,” he offered.
“A kiss?” she questioned. “I’ve had my fair share of kisses. What’s so different about this one?”
“It’s a kiss, from me,” he answered. “Exclusive to you, and only you. The only one I’ve ever had eyes on, all these years.”
The conviction in his voice, the longing in his eyes. No matter how long they were away, the two of them would always come back together like the stars and the moons in the night. Through all their collected scars, they still found each other and decided to try again once more. No matter their history and past, they were only meant for each other. How could she deny him a kiss?
“I suppose I could agree, but only if this kiss is as good as you say.”
Without waiting a second longer, Savini locked lips with Lorana. Softer than one would think, that scent of ash and armor oil passing between them. Like a drug that Lorana couldn’t get enough of, she was as much bound to him as he was to her. Just as things were getting good, she felt a shift and before she knew it was released and watched Savini darting away and out of the room.
With a cookie between his teeth that he snatched from the slowly falling levitated plate.
“You FETCHER!”
As quick as the mood had turned, it turned once more as the whole of the Tower witnessed a furious Telvanni Master chasing after a Morag Tong doing his darndest to avoid capture. Magic crackled in the air as Savini did his best to weave, duck, and avoid his lover and her wrath. A window in the staircase provided the perfect escape as he leapt out of it and began to scale down the Tower.
Only to have to evacuate back inside to avoid a bolt of lightning coming from above.
“When I get your scrawny little bug ass, I am going to throw you from the top of the Tower into a lava pit!” Lorana screeched down at him.
“You’ll have to catch me first!” he smiled and continued the chase back inside.
A typical day, all things considered. Minus one cookie.

Not me sitting here chatting with a friend and diving into the deep lore that is memories in Tamriel and the fact it is fucking water.
All of known memory of every single person everywhere is just fucking water.
And the implications and uses for that are now limitless and I feel like I’m actually touching on something forbidden the more I think about it.

Nice to meet you, I'm Shady (she/her)!
This is my Elder Scrolls blog for my creative works and just for general reblogging.
If you want to ask questions about my characters, here's a short list of them here:
Kerasil - Vestige/Captain of Silvenar, Bosmer. Saved the world a couple dozen times, no big deal.
Melar - Husband to Kerasil, Bosmer. Mostly a stay-at-home dad who may or may not be an expert stealth hunter. Don't worry about it.
Yera - Dragonborn of Skyrim, Bosmer, blind. Hero of Legend, lives in Skyrim for the most part and is very proud of the accomplishments she has. Loathes Thalmor. Eldest daughter to Kerasil.
Faylen - Younger sister to Yera, Bosmer Spinner. An expert of illusory magics and Spinner power and magics. Moved to Skyrim soon after Yera left and resides mostly in Markarth. Youngest daughter to Kerasil.
Lorana Alithar - Telvanni Master, mastery in illusions and memory manipulation. Older of the Twins, she's approachable but don't think it's because she's nice.
Brisala Alithar - Telvanni Master, mastery in fungal necromancy. Younger of the Twins, actively does not like to meet now people. DNI unless you've somehow caught her interest (uh oh!)

WIP WEDNESDAY
got tagged by @yansurnummu !
tagging @sigma-el @scalecallerpeak and whoever else wants to join!
I have so many pieces of WIPs laying around here or there, but one I'm closer to finishing is probably another chapter of my Telvanni Master series featuring Lorana Alithar.
Enjoy this snippet!
------
"Lorana? It's Ulith," he called out.
There was silence for a moment before he heard the click of a lock turn. The door opened to reveal a sliver of a face, red eyes with bags under them and a mess of hair.
"The assassin has been taken care of?" Lorana asked.
“Dead on the edges of the Tower grounds. Cut down by our guards as he was escaping,” he answered. “There was a Writ on him. We’ve taken it for evidence and are researching who might’ve called for it.”
“Throw a fireball into the Council room and whoever catches fire first probably was the one who ordered it,” Lorana grumbled. She opened the door wider and gestured him inside. He quickly stepped in and heard the door close shut behind him. Lorana stalked away and toward her bed, sitting down heavily on the edge.
“... They got too close,” she told him. “Was he alone? Were there any signs of an accomplice?”
“It’s too soon to know that information,” he told her. “We’re going to examine what supplies he has and see if it ties back to anyone we know. I will update you as soon as we have something solid to throw against your would-be adversary.”
Lorana sighed and rested her head in her hands. Her hair was a mess, her robes were haphazardly tied together. There was a tension around her shoulders that belayed the stress she was under when she discovered an assassin mere feet from her door.
It wasn’t the first, and it wasn’t going to be the last of these. Dunmeri culture was almost built on the backbone of murder and subterfuge. Telvanni culture was even more cutthroat than the other Great Houses. There would be several more decades of this, and Ulith could see the toll it was taking on his charge.
He slowly walked towards her and sat down on the bed beside her. He didn’t reach out immediately, Lorana hated unrequited touches. What was more effective was amiable silence until she reached out to him. It was here he sat for several minutes, watching and waiting.
Always waiting, always watching. It was his job after all, for a significant part of his life.
Back when he was but a small time guard for her parents, and then sequentially rising up in ranks until he was where he was now. And then he made his choice when the betrayal happened.
Her parents, or these children he had seen from birth to adulthood and all the struggles that were forced upon them.
The choice was easy enough to make.
And this is what allowed Lorana to eventually reach a hand out to touch Ulith’s armored shoulder. To feel her fingers tighten against the ridges. A small support against the onslaught she faces everyday.
