1978
There is 12 seconds of silence at the start of each song.
This was Essential Logic's first single. "Aerosol Burns" backed with "World Friction".
They were an English post-punk band formed in 1978 by saxophonist Lora Logic after leaving X-Ray Spex.

1/30/24.
Nick Godfrey of Precious Recordings has done something I wish I had the time, access, money and energy to do. He has released over 40 Peel sessions all in the last 3 years. The recordings are of high quality and the packaging is great. A dream come true for Nick - although his dream has come with financial sacrifices.
His 2024 release schedule will start with Essential Logic (UK), who...surprise, surprise...I'd never heard of. The band was formed and active in the late 1970s/early 1980s when Lora Logic left X-Ray Spex to form Essential Logic. My immediate comparison is David Bowie and Dexy's Midnight Runners although the instrumentation led to comparisons to contemporaries like Delta 5, and Kleenex/LiLiPUT.
Keep an eye on the Precious Recordings Bandcamp site. If you want their original recordings, you can head over to Discogs.

I know I'm artificial But don't put the blame on me I was reared with appliances In a consumer society When I put on my make-up The pretty little mask not me That's the way a girl should be In a consumer society

Jesus Christ, X-Ray Spex’s “The Day the World Turned Day-glo” is such a great song.
I wrenched the nylon curtains back
As far as they would go
And peered through Perspex window panes
At the acrylic road
[Chorus]
And watched the world turn day-glo
You know you know
The world turned day-glo
You know

Patrick likes ska... do u?
yes! not the biggest ska fan in the world but i do like it :] especially as im half jamaican, i know people dont really think of the original ska genre when they think of ska punk but two tone and its founding principals of racial solidarity between the jamaican diaspora descendants of the windrush generation and the white working class in the uk that eventually gave way to ska punk is just really important to me as a concept.
i like catbite, we are the union, and jer! i dont listen to a lot of ska like i said but those are some bands ive listened to and enjoy :)
