After filling in donamorteboo's Father-Daughter relationship meme with Bunnymund and Lop, I decided to do a crossover father/daughter collage on them. To help grab other people's attention on this crossover family I created. I got the idea after I saw Lop the Lepi for the first time and how she reminded me of E. Aster Bunnymund, who's original Guardians of Childhood book series counterpart is an alien that came to Earth.

Okay. So I haven’t posted stuff here in forever. (Seeing the current layout, I’m not sad about that...)
Anyway!
Since mid January, I’ve been working on learning how to draw Lop from Star Wars Visions. She is my favorite (non-canon) character in Star Wars, and she deserves a ton more love and fan art. Here are first seven weeks of that effort. Since then, I’ve switched to larger sketches posted daily on my Twitter and started learning how to digitally ink and color my sketches. I have more in depth explanations about what I was attempting for each sketch on my Discord, but that is friends only. If there is enough interest here, I’ll share more here as well.

Star Wars Alien Species - Lepi
The Lepus carnivorus evolved on the planet Coachelle Prime, located in the Terr'skiar sector of the Mid Rim. The world was shrouded by streamers of gas from the Thornhedge Nebula, and formed part of a constellation known on Oseon 6845 as the Silly Rabbit. Due to their high reproductive rate, they soon filled their world to capacity and were driven to develop stardrives in order to avoid overcrowding. They swiftly colonized all five planets in the Coachelle system, along with its asteroid belt. That seemingly provided enough room for their species, although some Lepi were involved in other colonization efforts such as on the planet Tatooine, and they were part of the wider galaxy by as early as the year 3964 BBY. The many colony ships used in these endeavors were later left largely intact and poorly guarded, susceptible to theft by enterprising Lepi, such as Jaxxon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Coachelle became a minor trade world, located at the end of the Ootmian Pabol hyperlane, and connected to Terr'skiar, the sector capital. The droid-manufacturing company Coachelle Automata shared its name with the Lepi homeworld. The company produced the LEP servant droid, which was in common use during the Clone Wars. That droid model had distinctive "ears," reminiscent of the Lepi species.
Tumblr media
Lepus carnivorus society revolved around the vast warrens they built under the surface of their planets. Larger families lived in their own smaller burrows. Lepi were fiercely loyal and proud of their families. They were quick to anger and prone to violence, especially in reaction to insults to their family or species. Their awkward appearance subjected them to mockery. However, as a whole, Lepi were typically a gregarious species, quick witted with a strong sense of humor.
The Lepi were often curious and impulsive, leading many to seek out adventure far from their homeworlds. That also stemmed from a desire to rise above the insults they often received. It was common among Lepi to find a determination to achieve great deeds not only for personal fame, but also to redeem their species in the eyes of the galaxy.
The Lepus carnivorus were sentient bipedal lagomorphs with large ears and feet. The strong legs of the Lepi were capable of great speeds as well as delivering powerful kicks, often used in fights to bludgeon their opponents. Lepi were covered in short fur that ranged in color from green to dark blue to white. Lepi also had tails, although these differed in length from stubby to quite long.
Tumblr media
The Lepus carnivorus had large eyes—likely adapted for dark warrens—which gave them sharp vision. That occasionally led to the misconception that Lepi consumed space carrots, which were known to improve eyesight. However, most Lepi preferred various forms of meat, such as hambones. Some Lepi even claimed to be carnivorous. A number of long whiskers grew from their short snouts. Long incisors, occasionally referred to as "buck teeth," jutted from their jaws, useful in their omnivorous diets. The long ears of the Lepi were very sensitive and occasionally colored in different shades, such as pink fur.
The Lepus carnivorus had a very high metabolism such that they were virtually always in motion, giving them an appearance of flightiness. That skittishness was also influenced by their evolution from high-strung herbivores; their "fight-or-flight" instinct very much favored flight.
Females gave birth in prodigious numbers; mothers often had up to three dozen offspring in their lifespan.
Tumblr media
Adult males average 1.9 meters or 6.2 feet tall, while adult females average 1.6 meters or 5.2 feet tall.
Lepi age at the following stages:
1- 9 Child
10 - 14 Young Adult
15 - 44 Adult
45 - 59 Middle Age
60 - 74 Old
Examples of Names: Augdon, Gagen, Javilla, Jaxxon, Lupher, Maximort, Nevlin, Roonis, Saper, Zylo.
Languages: The native language, both written and oral, of the Lepi was Lepese, or Lepp. However, that quickly became secondary to Basic as the language of preference. Lepi were prone to wild gesticulations when talking amongst themselves.

“…we’re going to become a proper family.” Have you watched #StarWarsVisions on @disneyplus yet? I loved these non-canon vignettes and the different takes on the Star Wars universe and mythos. My favorite by far is episode 8, Lop and Ochō. It’s only about 20 minutes long but it fully encapsulates Star Wars’ grand themes of the environmentalism, the dangers of imperialism, and the radicalization that occurs during conflict, all while centering on a core story of identity, family, and legacy. Oh, and one of the main characters is a lightsaber wielding space bunny! I would love to see more of Lop and Ochō’s story, and a second season of Visions to see other creators’ inventive takes on Star Wars! Which was your favorite episode? #lopandocho #lop #lepi #starwarslepi #starwars #swvisions #starwarsdisneyplus #forcewielder #forcesensitive #lightsaber #greenlightsaber #lopfanart #starwarsfanart #starwarsvisionsfanart #genostudio #fanart #digitalart #artistssupport_feature #artshoutout_gallery #yourartsupporter #das_4u #lovesupportartists (at Waynesburg, Pennsylvania) https://www.instagram.com/p/CUXwqPlrQPj/?utm_medium=tumblr

Hey, Roahm. You might not know about this bunny, since it’s on… *cough* Disney+… *cough*. Anyway, this is Lop. A cute bunny girl from “Star Wars Visions”, an anthology of anime shorts, which done by anime studios. Do you think, you would like this bunny (or Lepi, a humanoid alien rabbit to be more specific)?

That does look like a pretty cute bun, yes.

Deku [a half-lepi - Lop's species] adores the tales of Jedi, heroes of the Galaxy. It just so happened that, by sheer bad luck, he was born on the Imperials Side. But things change when he encounters a real jedi.

Star Wars Visions
The Duel - Good animation, manga come to life but boring (sorry, I know that's the one with a book) I do like the ending though, cool concept. Also makes me wonder just how long a lightsaber can stay ignited.
Tatooine Rhapsody - I've always wondered what something like Star Wars would be with modern music and then I thought I would miss the orchestrals too much but I'm glad this exists and- IS THAT A MINI BOBA FETT!! AND RYSTÁLL SANT?! Ok, that was great. I also wanted to mention how much I appreciate all the new droids in this series.
The Twins - I'm not too sure about the legitimacy of any of it with breathing in space and all that but this girl adds an extra two to General Grievous's 4! They crammed a lot into this one, I even see some stuff similar to Jedi Outcast II so it's definitely interesting.
The Village Bride - I'm conflicted with this one because there were points where I forgot it was Star Wars...but I like it. It's around 20% Star Wars and 80% some other anime, an anime that I wouldn't mind seeing.
The Ninth Jedi - Very interesting mechanics. I really liked this one, it seemed to flesh itself out because it didn't try to cram, just start a potential episode 1. I really dug it, it felt like something I would want to see for the first time again and again.
TO-B1 - Get it? Tobi Wan? Cutesy art but it's just Astro Boy.
The Elder - Return of the Trigger. They also did the Twins one. This is a very different style than The Twins but it's alright, it's not bad but it's kind of just average in my personal opinion.
Lop & Ocho - I really enjoyed this one. I feel like it did something niche, that umbrella scene and music alone put this in the top 3 so far. It also gives me hope that we'll see more Lepis, specifically Jaxxon.
Akakiri - Revenge of the Science SARU. They did TO-B1. Jedi PTSD. This one was alright, I think it had a nice atmosphere. I also think it might not be as liked, simply because it takes a Star Wars idea and shrinks it down, I think it's alright for what it is though.
All in all, this is a fun series, I think I got more than I expected out of it. I'd like to see them hand off the license to an anime studio for a full movie. It really made me want to see something like Gendy's Clone Wars again. But let's do a report card:
Best Animation: The Twins
Best Overall: The Ninth Jedi
Runner-Up to Both: Lop & Ocho

Star Wars: Visions Ranking
Because I did Love, Death & Robots, I gotta do the other anthology animated series I finished just now.
Firstly, major props to all of the studios. Both my dad and I are in agreement that some of these episodes blew The Bad Batch (which has been a disappointment) out of the water.
As for my ranking, which I kind of struggled with since I only didn’t like two of these-
9. Akakiri
8. The Elder
7. The Duel
6. The Village Bride
5. The Twins
4. Tatooine Rhapsody (I think this one is underrated)
3. T0-B1
2. The Ninth Ledi
1. Lop and Ochō
I couldn’t pay attention to Akakiri because I had just come off of the high of Lop and Ocho, my ADHD was in full craze, but even with that this short is kind of boring. It has good animation and a dark tone, but that’s all I could tell you about it.
The Elder takes way too long to get to the titular character, who is the most interesting aspect about it. I just wasn’t invested in not-Obi-wan and not-Qui-Gon. Shame we couldn’t get more focus on this crazy former Sith grandpa, or I would have ranked it higher.
The Duel is a good warm-up of what’s to come with a gorgeous art-style. However, I think the other shorts do it better.
The Village Bride was pretty damn compelling, and does the dark story-telling in Akakiri correctly. Loved the Battle Droids in this too, super cute.
The Twins is the exact sort of flashy action based on the OT that I expect from Trigger. It really felt like their own alternative universe take on Star Wars.
I only can’t rank it higher because Trigger still can’t animate mouths… like goddamn, I thought they would have learned their lesson after everyone dunked on Darling in the Franxx’s character animation. Especially with a 10-12 minute short.
Tatooine Rhapsody is genuinely underrated, most people rank it low and I don’t know why. I love the more lighthearted tone and the idea of a Jedi and a Hutt clan member being in a band. It’s so absurd, but it works here and I actually cared about Geezer! I think this is the first Hutt family member I’ve seen that isn’t an all-around repulsive piece of shit. The chibi art-style looks too weird on Boba Fett though.
T0-B1 is absolutely adorable. Gave me waves of Mega Man nostalgia. I love the titular robot. T0-B1 my absolute beloved. A breath of sweet fresh air that the franchise needed.
The Ninth Jedi is subverting your expectations, done right. Take notes, sequel trilogy directors. This is how you do it. I’m not going to spoil anything for this one because everyone should watch this one themselves if they can.
Lop and Ochō exceeded my expectations and more, I am declaring it canon no matter what Disney says. It says a lot that they put the most runtime into this and The Ninth Jedi.
This has a storyline similar to The Twins, but with more time to bake so you have more attachment to the characters. I originally made fun of this for having a cute furry anthro creature, but I was wrong about how good this short was going to be.
Lop is easily the most likable protagonist in Visions next to T0-B1, and one of the more tragic ones. Geno Studios blew it out of the park making me care about our first Lepi character in a Star Wars animation, and they did a wonderful job with the action.
So yeah, go watch Visions. Mainly the top two, but the others are great also!

How Star Wars: Visions’ Lop Was Inspired by a Classic Marvel Character
https://ift.tt/3AtNyP7
This Star Wars: Visions article contains spoilers.
Star Wars: Visions brings the galaxy far, far away closer to its Japanese roots with nine anime shorts that introduce plenty of new characters to the saga. There’s Ronin, a lone wanderer with a mysterious past who gets stuck in the middle of a Sith invasion; Karre and Am, twins raised from birth to be powerful in the ways of the dark side; Kara, the daughter of a legendary sword smith who may be the only hope for a new generation of Jedi Knights; and the Elder, an aging master swordsman who travels the galaxy looking for worthy challengers.
But there’s one character in particular who seems to be a standout with fans, and it’s for good reason. After all, she’s the only character in Visions who’s also a humanoid rabbit with a lightsaber. We’re of course talking about Lop, who is voiced by Anna Cathcart in the heart-wrenching “Lop and Ocho,” the Geno Studio short about a family divided by opposing ideologies.
Stream your Star Wars favorites right here!
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
We first meet Lop as she’s escaping a life of slavery under the Empire, who have occupied the resource-rich planet of Tao and are using Lop’s people as forced laborers. It’s during this escape that Lop meets young Ocho (Hiromi Dames) and her father Yasaburo (Paul Nakauchi), the planet’s leader, who begrudgingly takes her in at first but later accepts her as his true Jedi heir after Ocho betrays her clan and joins the Empire. The eventual showdown between Lop and Ocho leads to a bittersweet ending, with Lop unable to save the sister who once saved her. Despite its colorful 2D animation style and cute characters, this tale of found family turns out to be a sad one.
Fortunately, it gives us a memorable hero in Lop, a character who seems destined to jump out of Visions and into her own adventures, just like Ronin, who is the focus of a Star Wars novel out in October. And just like Ronin is heavily inspired by the samurai of Akira Kurosawa movies like Yojimbo and The Hidden Fortress, Lop has her own inspiration that dates all the way back to 1977 and Marvel Comics.
As confirmed by director Yuki Igarashi, Lop is inspired by Jaxxon, the smuggler first introduced in Marvel’s classic comic book, Star Wars #8. If you’re familiar with the book, you likely remember Jax as the ferocious green rabbit (a species called “Lepi”) pointing dual blasters at an unknown enemy on the cover of the issue. But Jaxxon’s no joke.

Star Wars Clone Wars: Which Parts of the Tartakovsky Series Can Still Be Canon?
By Ryan Britt
While he was created by Roy Thomas and Howard Chaykin as an homage to Bugs Bunny, Jaxxon is actually a tough-as-nails smuggler who is recruited by Han Solo and Chewbacca to help defend a village on the planet Aduba-3 from bandits in what’s basically a re-telling of Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai. Jaxxon decides to join Solo’s gang of scoundrels (known as the “Star-Hoppers of Aduba-3”) in order to earn enough credits to fix his ship, the Rabbit’s Foot (no I’m not making that up).
But despite being a major character in Star Wars #8-10, and one of the very first original creations for the Star Wars Expanded Universe, Jax unfortunately fell into obscurity after his stint with the Star-Hoppers, although he does appear in a later issue from 1978 where he takes down cyborg bounty hunter Beilert Valance, who is currently enjoying a run as the star of Marvel’s new Bounty Hunters comic book series.
No such luck for the bunny, though. Forty-five years later and there’s still no justice for Jaxxon, who’s only really appeared in a couple of IDW’s Star Wars Adventures annuals and Star Wars #108, a special issue published in 2019 that pays homage to the original Marvel run from the ’70s, since his debut. While this badass bunny gunslinger briefly commanded the attention of the Star Wars fandom post-A New Hope, poor Jax is now largely treated like a space oddity from another era of movie tie-ins.
Luckily, there’s now a new Lepi hero to keep Jaxxon’s legacy alive. A thousand generations of humanoid rabbits live in Lop now.
Star Wars: Visions is streaming now on Disney+.
