“Oh astrals… Luna don’t come in here.”
Luna frowned and looked up from her desk, turning in the direction of the bathroom.
“Is everything alright?”
Luna heard some shuffling coupled with an annoyed sigh. “Yeah! Just hair dye got everywhere and oh lord.”
“Do you need any help?”
“No! Please don’t come in here! I would be mortified if I got some on you.”
Luna looked unsure before shrugging and turning back to her work, “if you’re sure.”
“I am. I just gotta clean this up before it stains.”
“Good luck.”
Aqua fell silent again as she continued dying her hair blue. Sometimes she wished she had never started dying her hair blue, but then when she looked in the mirror and saw the blonde roots she was horrified and just had to dye it. Blue had become more natural of a hair color for her than her actual hair color. Once she was done touching it up she pinned her hair up and put on a shower cap, giving the bathroom and quick wipe down before walking out and setting a timer. Luna looked up when she walked out barely suppressing a smirk at her ensemble. Nothing said you weren’t expecting anyone like a shower cap, pajama shorts, your boyfriends old Destiny Islands high shirt, and acne cream on your face. Not to mention she had big fluffy moisturizing socks on.
“Oh, that is a look. Should I call Terra and tell him you’re ready for your date?”
Aqua turned to Luna with a glare and threw a small pillow at her which the blonde dodged easily. “Oh shush! You do the same thing every Friday!”
“Every night my dear. To look so young, you must go through a strict regime every night.”
Aqua flopped onto her bed, “whatever. I don’t have time every night. I don’t know how you do it to be honest.”
“Once I’m in my room I’m done for the day, no matter what.”
Aqua sighed, “yeah that could work, if I was rich and didn’t need a job to support myself.”
“Ah the woes of the lower classes.” Aqua threw another pillow at Luna, making her laugh. “Alright! Alright! I apologize. I can always pay for our food for the room you realize that yes?”
“Yeah but you also give me food from Ignis so it evens out.”
“True.”
Luna stood up and walked into the bathroom, pausing when she looked at the counter and saw some dye left in the bowl. She stared at the dark iridescent goo for a moment before an idea popped into her head.
“Hey Aqua?”
“Hmm?”
“Are you saving this dye for any reason?”
“Not really why?”
Luna smiled, “do you mind if I have it?”
“Better it gets used than goes to waste! Have a ball.”
“Thanks!”
Luna bounced her leg up and down nervously as she waited for Prompto to meet her at their table in the café. She played with the ends of her hair, smiling when the light caught the new blue ends just right. When Aqua gave Luna the last of her dye Luna had been trying hard to figure out if she wanted to use it for a prank (the prank war between Noctis, her, Ignis, and Prompto was still strong) or for herself. After some deliberation and realizing that this was her one chance to do something she’s always wanted to do, but never could do. She told Aqua what she wanted and the now bright blue haired adult helped her out it through her ends to make it look natural.
“Woah Lulu! What’s in your hair?”
Luna looked up with a smile, Prompto staring at her in shock. “Hello Prompto! What do you think?”
She turned her head this way and that to try and get him to see it from all angles.
“I love it! Wha made you want to do that?”
She shrugged and sipped her tea, “something just sort of came over me and I had to. Plus, Aqua had extra dye.”
“It looks so good. I love how you even put some in your bangs.”
Luna reached up and carded her hands through her bangs, “ah yes that was Aqua’s idea and it turned out rather well.”
Prompto set down his cup and pet Pryna on the head, “it’s so pretty. It matches your eyes!”
“Does it really?”
Prompto nodded, “yeah! I can’t wait until we show Noctis, he’ll flip! This is like the craziest thing you’ve done.”
Luna grinned at faint memories of her and Noctis sneaking out late at night from their respective homes to talk to each other. “It’s not the craziest I’ve ever done, but certainly the most noticeable.”
Prompto waggled his eyebrows at her, “ohoho so what’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done then?”
Luna grinned and held her mug up to her lips, “sneaking a wheelchair bound Noctis out of my house to go watch the stars.”
“Oh yeah I forget he was in a wheelchair…”
She sipped her tea, “he still needs a cane when his back and hip bother him, but he just powers through like some sort of madman.”
Prompto chuckled, “yup that sounds like Noctis. But in all seriousness, your hair is great and I think one day you should go for the whole head.”
Her eyes grew wide and she shook her head, “oh goodness no. Just the tip is fine.” She regretted what she said immediately as Prompto’s face broke out into a huge excited grin. “I swear to the astrals.”
“THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID!”
Luna groaned and rolled her eyes, avoiding the states form the other patrons as Prompto laughed his butt off. “Why am I stuck these four boys?”
“Because you couldn’t leave Noctis alone!”
“That was rhetorical Prompto.”
“Don’t care!”
