I am obsessed with Nirei and Sakura's dynamic because, from the very beginning, their characters start to develop around each other. Whether it's in a shipping way or not, their characters as we know them now wouldn't exist without the other. They're both each other's guiding lights.
Like.
Quite literally:
Nirei makes it his life purpose to help Sakura reach the top because he has been the first one to believe in him and help him out without making him feel weak. And not only that, but Nirei instantly knows Sakura has a good heart. Which is not a hard thing to do because this guy's emotions are displayed in plain sight (as much as he tries to hide it), but Nirei doesn't only realize Sakura's a good person, he also believes he needs help. Yes, Sakura fights for him when they first meet, but Nirei is the (first) one to follow him, acknowledge him as the next one at the top, and be his friend. Because he is what Nirei wants to become and what he wants to protect. He sees Sakura as the future. As a kind soul. As what the town (and himself) needs.
Sakura as a main character has always fascinated me, honestly. And his introduction to his relationship with Nirei might be the most cliché thing of all (ohhh bad guys are beating this guy I just met up. Guess I will have to fight them because I actually have a good heart!!!). But it's so much more!!! Sakura sees Nirei for who he actually is despite his lack of strength and ability to fight. He has ambition. A wish. An unstoppable desire to protect the town and become the type of man he admires so much. And I believe Sakura sees that as something he can actually relate to. As strength. Nirei is the first one to follow him willingly and believe in him, too. He's the first one to reach out. And whether Sakura likes it or not doesn't even matter because Nirei is what he needs. He's someone Sakura knows he can rely on despite his looks.
They both show strengths the other can rely on and appreciate. Sakura is good when it comes to fighting but a whole mess socially and emotionally because he has always been on his own. Nirei is good whenever they need information or emotional support and he just understands people because he watches them, while not being good at fighting. But they both share the same amount of ambition and are able to support each other in countless ways. They lift each other up. They're quite literally written for each other, in my opinion.
They also share insecurities. They know what it means to feel weak. Nirei knows what it is to feel physically hurt and bruised and what it is to carry the weight of the team because he feels like a burden for not being able to help in the same way as the others when he so desperately wants to. While Sakura knows what it is to feel emotionally abandoned, hurt, and lonely, while he also carries the weight of the team on his shoulders because he doesn't let others help him with the burden.
And they are both so, so stubborn. Nirei doesn't tell Sakura he's training and learning to fight behind his back because he'd feel even worse. And Sakura doesn't tell Nirei about feeling like a burden and a bad leader himself, because that'd only make him worse (than he believes he is). But they so desperately wish to help each other in so, so many ways.
Sakura would physically fight anyone who hurt Nirei. He has been protecting him from the very beginning without almost any hesitation. He met his guiding light and proceeded to never let him go. Nirei, on the other hand, is so protective emotionally of Sakura, always caring for him and longing to reach out and get him out of the dark because he can't see he is Nirei's guiding light too.
They're also so, so bad at showing these things. Because Sakura keeps protecting Nirei and keeping him out of fights but that only ever makes Nirei feel like he should be doing something else to help (Sakura only wants to keep him safe because he is precious to him). Nirei wants to reach out to Sakura and shower him with all the love he refuses to ask for but doesn't because doing so would only make Sakura overwhelmed (he has been holding himself back for so long, I swear).
I don't want to talk about this much because I meant to make a post about this, but... Nirei has been holding back his love and care for Sakura for so damn long (shout out to @/cantdrawtosavemylife for saying this actually) and in chapter 146 I swear he just couldn't hold it in anymore and ended up doing a love confession mid-battle. "It's not a love conf-" to me it is. Shut up. I love them.
So what I was saying--
Their characters truly develop thanks to each other.
Sakura learns to care and love for others thanks to all the characters, really, but you can't ignore the favoritism he has towards protecting Nirei and the guilt he specifically feels whenever he gets hurt.
And how he goes from: "Nirei, don't fight"
To: "Okay, I will trust him. I count on you, Nirei"
In like, two pages.
And yes, it's thanks to other characters too that Sakura manages to trust others and not fight completely on his own, lending some control to his friends. But it's the trust he has in Nirei's (and Suo's!!) words that make him improve so much emotionally.
Nirei's quite literally Sakura's heart and logic who can finally make the mess inside of him make sense.
Ohh, but Sakura is Nirei's future, too. His strength. His ambition.
Nirei learns to stand up for himself only because he wants to help Sakura get to the top. Because he promised him. Not only because of that of course, he already wanted to be stronger before meeting Sakura and other characters believe in him too, but now he has somebody to support and fight for.
So he starts only being able to help him out with his brain and heart.
To now be able to at least defend himself properly in a fight so Sakura can keep going forward without looking back.
And not only that! He's now able to fight his fears and be ready to face whoever if it means Sakura won't do it on his own.
And everything because Sakura trusts him.
And I could keep talking about how they're each other's guiding lights and bring out the best of one another. I could mention all the times they spend together which is, like, idk, every damn chapter because if you separate them they might die. I could talk for hours about how their characters wouldn't exist without each other and how Nirei (and Suo. Never forget Suo. I love you, king) will forever be Sakura's right-hand man. Etc etc etc.
Buuuuuut I got tired of writing so I'll just say:
Nirei sees the good heart in Sakura and Sakura sees the strength in Nirei and their dynamic is my favorite thing from this manga.
#can you tell i love them#i am shutting up now i apologize for this#i wanted to do a short analysis i needed to talk about them#i could talk more dO YOU WANT ME TO TALK MORE ABOU-#the moon will sing starts playing.... my love mine all mine starts playing....#wind breaker#wind breaker (satoru nii)#nirei akihiko#sakura haruka#sakunirei

"My heart belongs to you alone..."
TW: insecurities, jealousy, reader has trust issues, make-up sex, dom!bi han, praise, v!sex, ftm reader, rough sex, smut, little angst, afab anatomy.
⸺ Your insecurity was never new to him, however, Bi Han didn't really understand why you doubted his conduct and fidelity, but he was an understanding man, who loved you and understood that certain aspects would have to be worked on in your core - From past relationships, he was proud of you and even if he didn't say it verbally, his heart cried out for every piece of you... However, not even the cyromancer's solid passion and love stopped you from feeling hurt and insecure again.
Your jealousy and doubts were so visible that it even hurt, especially when you saw several people - new ninja recruits - trying to flirt with the grandmaster, you tried to control yourself, tried to control that underlying sadness that was trying to climb back into your mind and dope your senses...
But it was too late, especially when I saw some of them whispering about how much they wanted to sleep with their man. Bi Han wasn't stupid and he knew they were trying to flirt with him, he wanted to be a polite leader but that disgusted him, especially because he said several times that you were his partner, but it didn't help and it was too much for you to bear - when he realized you had already left for home which led him to cancel the rest of the training for the next day and go run after you, you were his number one priority.
⸺ Your body was lying on the bed, wrapped like a snail in several sheets, while the copious crying was audible, sub zero was a patient man... But at that moment, he knew that words wouldn't help enough, so he decided to act, act in the best way you could think of - taking the sheets off you with a quick movement, and forcing you to look deep into his eyes, "-Look at me." he ordered sternly, your eyes boring into his, seeking understanding.
"-Do you really believe that I would betray you like that?" His tone softened slightly. "-I chose you because you make me feel alive again. Because you bring light back to my dark world. Do you understand?" This time, he didn't even wait for a response from you, forcefully tearing any fabric that still prevented him from seeing your pretty pussy in his hungry eyes.
You babbled incoherent thoughts to him, letting your insecurities speak louder, which made Bi Han angry. With a violent movement of his hips, he buried himself completely inside you, moaning deeply as he did so - He gave you a light armbar on your neck - reaching down, he slapped your ass hard enough to make you scream before returning to his merciless pace.
Bi-Han grew in frustration, seeing you continue crying because you were insecure, but he held you in place, even if painfully, his cock throbbing against your cunt. "-You know that's not true baby boy...," he snarled, his free hand reaching between your legs to roughly rub your clit through - He began to thrust faster, harder than before, asserting his dominance over you both physically and emotionally.
His pace didn't slow down even as tears continued to trickle down your cheeks, staining the sheets beneath you. "-Listen to me boy." he commanded between heavy breaths. "-I choose you every fucking time. No matter what anyone else says or thinks, it doesn't change how I feel about you." His pace didn't falter, if anything, it intensified.
His hips bucked faster, harder, driving him deeper into your tight channel. Your moans turned into high-pitched whimpers, muffled by the hold on your throat. "-You are beautiful," he growled, his voice hoarse with need. "-Oh- So fucking beautiful... How could I change you? How could I leave you for someone else- You are my husband, goddamnit! And don't you dare forget it!" As he spoke, he began to thrust deeper and harder, pounding into you relentlessly.
The combination of pleasure and pain was overwhelming, causing new tears to well up in your eyes. But despite the carnal and mental pain, something inside you calmed down and you relaxed a little, as you looked directly into his eyes - He moaned deeply, leaning down to capture your lips in a messy kiss. "-That's a good boy... Cum, cum for me, my angel." Sub-zero groaned deeply, his cock twitching violently inside you as your orgasm washed over him - he followed suit seconds later, filling your pussy with hot cum.
His hips continued to rock back and forth for a few moments before he finally released his hold on your throat, allowing you to gasp for air - panting heavily, he turned to look at you, you both sweaty bodies intertwined in a mess of flesh and fluids. "-That was... intense," he managed between heavy breaths. "-But I think we both needed that... Never forget that I love you... never despise yourself again, I love you, I fucking love you."

TFA Megatron, can be Cybertronian or Human reader. Gender neutral. Mentions of Megatron’s trauma :(
Blacklist.
Dedicated to @cheerful-sixears
A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)
Not in public, usually, but sometimes he’ll smother you in PDA when a few choice mechs that he's comfortable with are around. In private, his affection is more intimate. Tracing his servos over your frame, gently petting you, giving you soft kisses and murmuring how much he means to you.
B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)
Gossip girl. He sharpens his claws while you sharpen yours/do your nails. He’s an expert on the perfect eyeliner and lipstick- at least, the Cybertronian equivalent.
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
It goes as well as robot cuddles can. He’ll sit you in his lap casually, especially on his throne. Those are his favorite cuddles- showing off that you are his.
D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)
Nah. That’s what he has minions for. But on the occasion you convince him to do something… he looks very cute in a frilly apron. He tries his best with cooking but don't be surprised if something goes wrong.
E = Ending Energy (How much energy do they put in the relationship?)
Megan is attentive to you when he’s in a good headspace. He takes you on dates, gets you lavish gifts, makes sure you always have special energon/your favorite foods. He matches your love languages as best he can.
F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)
As with other things, he needs time to warm up to it. But once he's ready, he is extremely loyal to you- he can't see himself with anyone else after this. You are conjunx endura and he will be dedicated to you for eternity.
G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)
Physically, sometimes he forgets his own strength. He apologizes gently if he accidentally hurts you.
Emotionally, he tries his best. He’s used to being gruff, a loner, self-sufficient. He tends to forget himself in his work but if you come to him in need, he will drop everything to comfort and spend time with you.
H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)
Gentle but loving. His arms envelope your form, making you feel loved and protected. He likes picking you up, if you’re smaller than him, and hugging you like that. He also likes sleepy hugs and cuddles.
I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)
It takes a little bit for him to make peace with the relationship. Don't say “I love you” first- let him say it first. He needs time to acclimate before he feels comfortable with it.
J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)
Megatron isn't outwardly jealous. He doesn't want to limit you or your interactions. But his trauma gives him a deep-seated sense of insecurity. He does need reassurance from time to time, and will be glad to give you any reassurance you need.
K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)
Gentle and soft, just like his hugs- telling you that you are loved and appreciated. He’ll kiss you anywhere; on the lips, forehead, cheeks, neck, hands, chest, tummy. When getting spicy, he gets a bit more firm, slipping his glossa in more than regular kisses.
L = Little ones (How are they around children?)
Very awkward if they’re not his or the Cassettes. It’s best to have them stay away, just in case.
(Bonus: My OC Orbit is his sparkling. Megatron is attentive to him and ensures his baby boy is taken care of, even when he gets into mischief.)
M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)
He’s often gone already in the mornings, off to do work as the Decepticon leader. But sometimes he’ll indulge you and sleep in, cuddling you until it’s time to get up. He has a specific morning routine that helps him get ready for the day, so that’s always a must.
N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)
Evenings are often spent winding down, spending time together in any way you’d like. He makes sure you’re fed and taken care of before you recharge.
O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)
Very, very slow. He needs a long time to open up about his trauma. He holds a lot of guilt, too. If you are open with him, it helps him learn to open up, too.
P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)
Eh… it depends. His energy levels and how much he’s already dealt with that day are big factors. But he’ll always be patient with you- you get a pass on a lot of things that the others don’t.
Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)
When he’s on an off day, he is forgetful. But he does make sure to note important things. When he’s on a good day, he picks up everything you may share or note.
R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)
When he realized how deeply he’s in love with you. Perhaps it was while cuddling, when he just finally felt everything was *okay* in the universe. He couldn't help but press a kiss to your forehead and admire your sleeping form.
S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)
Protective to hell and back. Megatron has too much trauma. He’s lost too many people. He refuses to lose you, too.
As for him, he’s used to taking care of himself. It’s okay if you let him take control. But he will be greatly appreciative if you are protective of him, too.
T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)
Maximum effort. He wants you to know how loved you are. He will make sure to note your favorite things for dates and anniversaries. He’ll grumble about going to any parties with you- he is an introvert- but he always does his best.
U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)
Megs tends to lose himself in his work and may accidentally ignore you. Just get his attention, tell him you need him, and he’ll drop everything for you.
V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)
Megatron is gorgeous and he knows it… but on his off days, his self esteem takes a huge dip. But when he’s feeling good, he knows how beautiful and ethereal he is. He doesn't flaunt it like Starscream, however his very presence exudes his confidence.
W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)
He would never admit it aloud, but yes. He needs you more than he realizes.
X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)
His love language is quality time. He doesn't need lavish gifts or fancy words, he just wants your complete attention. He’ll make sure you can both plan to have time alone to got on a date, talk, or even just exist with each other in peace.
Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)
Don’t be a slob. He takes pride in his clean ship (don't look at his personal office).
Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?)
He has trouble recharging sometimes- nightmares plague him often. But with you next to him, he sleeps better and has better dreams.

since you did the hcs for the other ships i think it’s appropriate for some blossutch hcs?? 😋 BTW. i love loveeee ur art aaaaaa is so cuteness💗
AAAAAA THANK YOU!!!
I actually wrote an essay on why I ship Blossutch a loooong time ago, maybe I can still reblog it if I can find it. But for now I'll talk about other headcanons that I think I haven't discussed yet.
TW: Self Harm,
Honestly, when it comes to Blossutch you need to lock me in a cold dark room to write/draw hundreds of pages of slow-burn, romance-in-the-background, completely unexpected dark-horse Blossutch so that y'all can see my vision for real. The feeling Blossutch gives off for me is that they have that one random episode where they are locked in a room together and they have a Breakfast Club moment where they realize there is more to each other than they thought.
Also, I have always been a superhero/action lover and I think that Blossom and Butch are literally the best fucking duo if they ever had to fight together. Like Blossom being the strategist and Butch being the brawns except he actually listens to her because frankly, I think he deals with bossy the best (see Brick and Butch's dynamic). And I think Blossom would be able to put Butch's strengths to good use. On that note, I headcanon that the first time Butch sees Blossom in a school setting, his mind is literally blown. Like how are you the leader of the strongest superhero group, but also a fucking...NERD. A tightly wound, prissy, teacher's-pet type person? Because of that, I headcanon that a part of Butch would like to see Blossom, a typically cool-headed person, go absolutely apeshit. And I especially would love to see this desire to blow up in Butch's face. When Blossom is finally driven to the edge, Butch feels the utmost regret and will now do anything for her to get back to how she was before.
I also headcanon that Butch seeks destruction to the point where he will even resort to self-destruction. Banging his head against the wall, scratching until he bleeds, banging his body against things, etc. His body, this physical vessel that he's in, always feels like a nuisance. He’s always been insecure about his body, Part of his performance of shamelessness and cockiness comes from ignoring his physical body. He hates looking at himself in the mirror. He feels disgusting. At the same time, he embraces being disgusting, but it’s not enough to feel secure in himself. Butch would probably feel the most satisfied if he were a boundless whirlwind storm that could tear down everything in his way without worrying about his body at all. In my eyes, Butch is a physical manifestation of unrest: always feeling unwell, an insomniac, and always unsatisfied. He hurts people both willingly and unwillingly, but more often willingly since y’know, he is a bad guy. He is constantly bored, so he stirs up a shit ton of trouble. On the bright side, he has a lot of energy and is easily the life of the party.
Blossom, on the other hand, searches for order and needs order. She's the complete opposite of Butch, and yet she is also restless. As in, as she gets older, she gets more and more tired of the Sysiphian cycle of good vs. bad. As much as she tries to maintain goodness, a new evil or problem arises. And due to the amount of responsibility she takes on, she spends a lot of time alone doing pretty boring shit. Butch constantly brings chaos to Blossom's life and it seriously tests her, but it also brings fun into her life. In other words, he makes her life a lot less boring. Without him, life would just pass Blossom by and she would miss out on a lot of shit. I headcanon that Butch always includes her in things, even if she doesn't want to, and I think it's just a funny dynamic. Also one of my favorite headcanons is that Blossom kinda looks for creative ways to bridge their very different interests. For example, she looks for classical music that is chaotic and even a little sinister. "In the Hall of the Mountain King" by Grieg and specifically the last minute of "1812 Overture Finale" (for the cannons of course). She'll find videos that she thinks he'll like or videos that remind her of him and make him watch those videos with him (Lady Gaga/Ke$haesque music, freaky science, dirty jokes, and other funny stuff). They also love superhero comics (for different reasons) and are interested in true crime (but in a news report way, not in those shitty ass podcasts/channels). Actually, usually when Blossom talks to Butch (whether it’s during friendship or relationship) she will ramble about pieces of history that might interest him (like dark or funny history), fictional lore of certain horror movies, and other stuff. Butch listens pretty closely because she has become attuned to what Butch is also interested in. She loves the over-the-top reactions Butch gives to things. It makes her feel like the things she says are important and interesting, The best part is that she knows he’s not faking. Blossom is such a strong, smart, and beautiful character who takes on so much, yet is treated like shit. And for what? Being bossy? Bitch, she’s the leader. Yall don’t give a fuck when Brick is being a bossy little shit. She is constantly taken down a peg and for what?? She’s more talented than most of yall at just 5 years old. Blossom holds the whole world on her fucking shoulders, I don’t care if she’s in a relationship or not, Blossom deserves to be treated like the intelligent person she is while still pushed to relax occasionally.
In my own head, I can think of Blossom and Butch having a conversation over everything. Every media I encounter, every Tiktok I watch, and everything I learn. I find it very funny to have Blossom pretend to disapprove of everything Butch does or says and the same for Butch.to find a lot of joy in her disgusted face. He would have a loud and explosive laugh, so contagious that even Blossom can’t help but laugh with him. Meanwhile, Butch finds that Blossom has interesting reactions to things. He finds it fun to say and do crazy, outlandish things just to see how Blossom would react. I personally headcanon that Blossom becomes more stoic over time, so Butch is also testing just how stoic Blossom actually is. Additionally, I believe they test gender roles, believe it or not. Blossom being this stoic, reliable, and decisive girl, while Butch is this emotional, domestic, and flamboyant boy. Blossom is often Butch’s rock. Butch often does drag and wears makeup. Blossom wears suits and can be cold, mysterious, and calculating. Additionally, I headcanon that Butch is unable to hold down any one job. He can’t come to work everyday for a consistent schedule, he has days where he is incredibly motivated and days where he cannot be bothered. His strength is more with domestic work, as the only brother who was awake in the morning, he was the one doing most of the chores around the house. He cooks and he cleans as much as a young boy without parental figures would, and he does it because someone has to or else the RRB would fall apart. Butch is like the faulty glue that keeps the RRB together, and I say faulty because he lacks the emotional intelligence to be an effective glue. Even though he manages to keep good relationships with Brick and Boomer individually, he doesn’t have the courage to bridge the gap between Brick and Boomer without ruining his image in both of their eyes (more so Brick’s eyes). Yet, if it weren’t for Butch’s inability to maintain peace between them, none of the boys would have been able to grow into their own persons, with their own personalities. None of these colorcrack ships would have happened without Butch’s cowardness. But because they do come to become their own people, Blossom can see that evil and good is not as black and white as she made them out to be. She would come to see everything that is admirable about Butch, his strong spirit, his diligence, his hype-man nature, more specifically his supportive nature, and construct a new ideology. Butch thinks that her spirit is much stronger since he is a shipwreck while she is a powerful, put-together marine engine. She has all the words that Butch is missing. To him, her wisdom and intelligence is so boundless, that he put his whole trust into her that everything will be okay. While Blossom is insecure in her capabilities, Butch reassures 200% more than she needs, and that kind of reassurance is the type to make you believe in yourself again.
And suddenly what was once restless, finally closes its eyes.

applejuiceism talks about her mime ocs that only she cares about cuz theyre trapped in her brain and not talked about like, anywhere else
huge chunks of text warning ... i only go over POP, SNAP PEA, COPYCAT and BIP
POP is the first mime oc i ever made, based around 80s glamrock fashion and general 'glam' motifs. they (they/any) are extremely energetic and outgoing, willing to spark up conversation with anyone, even the most awkward and antisocial people. somebody could silently stare at them, or be clearly uninterested, and they'd still yap away non-stop. this extroverted-ness is a blessing and a curse however, because they tend to not pick up on social cues that indicate the person is uncomfortable; therefore, they have a tendency to overwhelm folks by trying to push them into talking, without meaning to!! their true color is a PASTEL GREEN, which they're ashamed of, and actively hide by pretending their true color is a hot neon pink. the only traces of their true color is in their eyes, tongue and hemolyph. they shut down and their personality takes a 180 when it's pointed out to them; it's a huge topic of insecurity.
SNAP PEA is sort of the second one i ever made? based around cows. he's (he/him) friendly and understanding, willing to be a shoulder to cry on for anyone who needs it. he tends to be a little awkward sometimes, not at all blessed with natural charisma, but he tries his best either way. when you're around him, you're bound to likely enjoy your time—even if theres moments of silence because he doesn't know what to say. unlike most mimes, SNAP PEA is VERY living-oriented. he is basically the biggest advocator for their safety, and he makes that very known. with his dangerously high levels of strength and durability, he easily wipes out any mime who is deemed hostile towards the living. his mime kill-streak is ... pretty high. he doesn't actively seek out mimes to snuff out, but if one happens to cross his path and isn't apart of Light's Cooperative or is otherwise 'safe', they will not be around long. despite all of this, he's still a good guy (objectively), and a great leader when he's allowed to be. also he's HARVEST GOLD.
COPYCAT is sort of unknown lol. i forgot when exactly i made her in order. she's (she/her or any) rude and mean, often spitting out random insults just to give you a taste of her annoyance. it's not very hard to aggravate her, and while she won't physically attack you (she can't, really, her hemolyph is too low for the risk), she will indeed call you a plethora of names and give you the dirtiest looks. ignoring all of this, she's not 24/7 bitchy, and more often than not she's simply snappy. no matter who she's with, she tends to talk their head off; going down rabbit holes of random topics until she's either decided she's had enough, or you're clearly not interested. she, obviously, prefers to be around people who are willing to listen to her. her opinions are very strong as a front, but it's easy to wilt her feelings and make her question herself. she LOVES the living; wishing she was one of them rather than a mime. as a mime herself in general, she is a copycat of one of the living cast, and as a result she has a lot of moral dilemmas surrounding it. but that's a whole can of worms in of itself. she's WINE RED.
BIP is one of the most recent mime ocs i have. he (he/him) is literally the worst guy ever. wish i was joking. he is hated by almost every single one of my ocs, both living and mimes, with the exception of just roughly three (mind you, i have like 10+ ocs in cq). and it's for a good reason—aforementioned, he is awful. he likes to piss people off to a degree of purposefully overstimulating them, and often will make them so upset they want to harm him. which never works. he's physically strong, and sometimes he uses them 'initiating it' to kick someone's shit in for fun. the only mimes who like him are his wife DAME (she/they), his 'friend' PRAIRIE (she/her), and his sister DOROTHY (xe/xem). it's all mostly tolerance, besides his wife, whom loves him as much as he loves her. they're inseparable. anyway; BIP is incredibly hard to be around, and likes making people suffer, so there's no use in trying to talk sense into him. people have tried. he is PASTEL PURPLE.
thanks for coming

think it's really curious that during the scene in the Undersnax Filbo has his sudden crisis of leadership. Because he frets about being in charge a lot, but I think it's the only time where he outright says that 'everybody hates (him).' I've seen some say that they don't feel it makes sense, but I think it does feel fitting given how that Lizbert is suddenly no longer some absent-but-mythical figure that everyone looks up to. His whole intention was to get her back, obviously, but the ambiguity of where she even was made it feel less to him like he was taking her place and more of a necessity even if he wasn't the best at leading, and he could rely on the idea of the 'actual' leader coming back eventually. It's suddenly something he has to contend with again in a physical form, that his position is anything more than being temporary filler even if he gained a degree of confidence.
Interestingly compared to the rest of the villagers, Filbo doesn't seem to take much interest in the bugsnax. Sure, he eats them when you catch him some in the beginning quests, but he's literally starving and has nothing else to eat. While the others have regular requests and even the mystery requests in the mail, as far as I know Filbo never specifically eats any snaks in questlines aide from the starting ones and the spuddy you give him, which isn't even him asking, it's part of Wambus' quests. Also, if I'm remembering correctly, Beffica mentions that he just eats the bugsnax because everyone else does, and not out of any particular like of them.
Since we know one of the things the bugsnax do are manipulating insecurities to create a desire for more and a dependence to try and fill the hole, this raises an interesting thought. Characters like Gramble and Shelda don't eat snaks for personal moral reasons, but Shelda, at least, still shows a desire to do so and tries to repress it. But Filbo...Filbo lacks that entirely. Something about him makes him indifferent. He isn't allergic like the journalist, he just doesn't feel that same drive.
I think there's two possible ways to look at it. One, the more optimistic, is that he has no 'void' to fill because he's the only character aside from the journalist to have a tangible, practical goal that can feasibly be fulfilled. He could wonder if the snaks would somehow make him a better leader in the same ambiguous, amorphous way that everyone else thinks the snaks would be able to solve their problems, but, ultimately, it wouldn't do anything to get him any closer to finding Lizbert in any tangible way.
The more pessimistic thought, which interests me, is that Filbo did consider if the snaks could make him better...but he's fundamentally convinced that he is beyond fixing and nothing can change him. We see that Filbo is capable of some pretty deep self-loathing and puts a lot of stock in how others view him, he likes it when everyone gets along and he can be useful to the point that it's not unreasonable to assume a lot of Filbo's self-confidence and self-worth comes from other people liking him, or at the very least considering him useful. He's at a very low point in the beginning of the game, not only starving but also desperately trying and failing to keep the last of Snaxburg standing after he failed at the task he was assigned by a person he highly respects and looks up to. I'm gonna talk about how that might fit into this
Specifically, another interesting thing to note is that when the characters all succumb to their vices in the bad ending, their dialogue doesn't indicate any of them are particularly interested in eating. They have eaten, sure, but all of their dialogue is about their personal problems. Shelda declares the snaks have no power over her, Wambus bemoans being unable to control his hunger and the futility of his work, Wiggle accepts her status as a failed career musician, et cetera. They've all crossed that horizon from hunger into obsession. It's just conjecture, but how bugsnax addiction works may involve a point where a victim is convinced there's no other option left than what they're obsessed with and nothing can divert them from their path anymore, and are all-consumed by it to the point of not even desiring the bugsnax as food anymore- which isn't a concern to their life cycle, as by that point everyone has already consumed enough snaks to be fully converted.
(Also, an aside note, but a common symptom of depression (and a lot of other mental health issues) is a disinterest in eating and a lack of appetite.)
I think the reason that Filbo wasn't literally already dead and converted by the time the journalist made it to the island is because he couldn't catch enough snaks. Psychologically he was already there, but physically he had no snakmatter on his body that hadn't already worn off. And when he finally does get some snaks to eat, he has the journalist to spark some hope that Lizbert would come back after all and that the town could be rebuilt now that he had someone else's help.
I know people tend to say Filbo is like the one sane character who's decently well-adjusted but I think he's one of the most severely in need of some kind of therapy.
#why do I keep making long bugsnax meta posts what the hell is wrong with me#I just love filbo and want his life to be good#MR MAYOR WERE GONNA GET YOUR ASS SOME SELF CONFIDENCE SWEAR TO GOD#YOU DESERVE EVERYTHING AND IM GONNA GIVE IT TO YOU#anyway sorry about my continued brainworms#long post#bugsnax#spoilers#meta

Stemquisition Part 4 (Heartburn): Defeat an army with physics and the enemy leader being really, really bad
In which I fool Corypheus twice, shame on him.
Having defeated Alexius, I offer the mages a free alliance, showing them mercy for joining the enemy because they were up against an evil time wizard, which seems hardly fair. Me and my new colleagues set out on a mission to close the Breach - the rift in the sky that caused other, smaller rifts around the world. Even the small ones pour out dozens of demons to contend with, so I hypothesize that this massive one will be a terrible battle. I thrust up my magic hand, and they...kind of thump their staves? Someday I'll have to study how that helps. But, for now, it's over. I did it.
Wait, I did it? Closed the Breach? Just like that? I mean, sure, it was a bit taxing, but I'm regularly getting into far worse. I got beaten unconscious several times in that Pride Demon fight alone.
I lead my people in celebrating the University way: with drinks and laughing at nothing in particular. But our party is crashed by a massive army, and, unfortunately, they brought drugs. Lyrium. Red lyrium. Varric hates that stuff! You know, back in Kirkwall...
Alright Cullen, your time to shine! What incredible tactics do you have for us?
Realizing that our general is mostly just there for moral support, I'll have to get creative. I rush to the trebuchets and, using my sniping expertise and mathematical skills, calculate just the perfect angle to bury much of the army in an avalanche.
But then Corypheus shows up and pulls a dragon out of his ass, so everyone has to escape. I distract Corypheus by doing what I do best: asking too many questions.
He doesn't give me too much that's useful. He's mostly just interested in yoinking my special hand, because it's supposed to be his special hand. I keep asking him questions while he tries to operate, like a really bad patient.
He fails to steal my magic hand, so he decides to just kill me. He doesn't kill me. He just decides he will, and tells me about it while I stagger around looking for a weapon, like a sword or the huge trebuchet right next to us. For some reason, he didn't simply burn all the trebuchets as soon as the first one wiped out a large chunk of his army.
My hypothesis is that he doesn't know what a trebuchet is, because he's been asleep for the last thousand years, and none of his subordinates had told him because they didn't want to embarrass the man who invaded heaven on an ego trip and then went back for more. He's a bit insecure.
I stopped his army with a trebuchet-triggered avalanche, but now he'd see that coming, even if he wasn't watching me as I inch towards the firing mechanism. I can't just pull off the exact same trick again.
Oh, I can.

ep33 (1/3): relitigating the suicide scene
so picking right up where we left off, I know wwx is extremely unpopular now but does this asshole have to bring up the massacre at LP??? that seems targeted towards wwx's specific and fairly private insecurities. but once someone is a villain, that means everything they've ever done is tainted. so as if this wasn't bad enough, now he has people on all sides turning on him with emotional attacks far more damaging than any physical wounds they could impart
oh yeah and people telling him directly to die. really heartbreaking to see this happen to a character so vigorously attached to life, someone who's been beaten down again and again and who refused to die. and wwx loves his life. loved. you can tell how devastating this is to push someone like him to this
this will always be the most meaningful way that he dies. his suicide is one of the most powerful and significant events in the story. having him torn apart just hits different
first you tell him to play, now you tell him to stop. it's a good thing he never listens to you. man, but lwj was useless this night
well, that's not true. he tried to save wwx. he reminded wwx, just for a moment, that someone still cared about him. and that mattered
ohh the single tear
AND the spitting up blood, which alarms lwj so much that someone gets a hit on him. qi deviation?
and it just goes to show, doesn't it. all the posturing about brave dead soldiers and the loss of innocent lives was just a smoke show to conceal their true purpose. the hypocrisy, the corruption, the greed. as soon as he stumbles they latch onto his source of power to steal it for themselves
this is so raw. they hardly ever let him get this messy. but that is actual snot on there
THE RITE OF SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!! IT SOUNDS SO GOOD HERE. also they've been at it for hours, I guess? it's dawn
check out that sick cgi hand being severed from its arm. they're all just fucking killing each other trying to get the STA now. gloves off. sect leader yao just slit a guy's throat
I've seen a post like 'lwj killed a bunch of guys in wwx's defense at nightless city, I guess they just politely don't mention it' but lbr, nightless was a bloodbath because of the sect members killing each other too. if they bring up what any one person did, they'll have to face what they all did. better to blame all deaths on wwx
oh, bad cgi hand stab. my beloved. grabbed my attention early on
and this, and this. he's at his limit. he's been holding it in, but now he's just openly sobbing. at this point I'm ready for him to go. better to come back later, more at peace, than stay here and suffer
DEVASTATING. we know wwx will come back, eventually, but for lwj? he's watching the love of his life kill himself and he's powerless to stop him
I don't think cql lwj ever could have taken wwx anywhere against his will. even now, he's begging rather than trying to physically stop him. he didn't fly down on his sword to grab him. he doesn't have it in him to impede wwx's autonomy like that. even now
and here's more tears. beautiful shot
classic shot
another classic shot. looking like he can hardly believe it. I like when they talk in fics abt him losing his mind and not remembering or understanding much that happened this night. I don't think he's quite lucid. he didn't even seem to see lwj earlier. but he smiles a little, when he sees him. good old lan zhan, trying to save a lost cause
I also really like the blood running down his chin. I think it adds to the look really well
no words for this one. fuck. he must be so tired
jc's emotional journey here is worth paying attention to. obviously it's not the black and white hero-vanquishing-evil scene we saw at the beginning of the show, but I've seen multiple readings that try to simplify it in other ways, that try to say 'this is a private moment between only two characters', between wwx and jc or between wwx and lwj, when I think it's very clearly a significant interaction with both of them. jc and lwj are the two characters with the most significant relationships with wwx, and neither of their respective roles in the story can be shoved aside for the other. at least, not in the flashback arc. postres it's a bit of a different story
anywa wwx is never going to have a simple relationship with jc. especially not here or now, not after what just happened.
I have seen people criticize jc really harshly for killing his brother, which is annoying because it doesn't offer any context as to who wwx is or why this is happening. anyone can kill their brother, it all depends on why. I'd rather criticize him for things in the context of the scene
and why is he smiling? well, like with lwj, maybe it's nice to see a familiar face at the very end.
wwx is already planning to die here. jc's actions don't make that more likely, but they probably hurt wwx on an emotional level. or maybe he finds it fitting, a just end after what he feels like is an unforgivable crime. I don't think that makes jc's actions here better, btw. I still think this was a horrible thing to do to someone who loved and sacrificed so much for his family and for innocent people, whatever his mistakes.
he looked resigned in the moment, but revisiting it, it looks like he's bracing for pain. oh god this all hurts so much. I don't care who 'really' killed him. the emotional scars matter far more. and this isn't something wwx is going to forget when he wakes up. he has his eyes closed so he can't see how scared and sad jc looks but like, does it matter? must he coddle jc even now, when jc's about to try to kill him?
yeah it's pretty unambiguous that he stabbed that rock on purpose in order to dislodge it. the camera pans back up to him, he looks determined and angry, and he twists his sword. I've seen so many arguments and speculations on it and um he doesn't look confused or anything just terribly terribly sad. there's part of him that's grieving wwx too even as he tries to kill him. damn, but he always gets in his own way
I do think it's significant that he doesn't outright stab wwx - after all, why change it from ep1? maybe to make clear that this was a suicide more than a murder, despite appearances
yeah wwx sees what's happening and twists out pretty clearly
and jc looks...stunned? shocked? horrified? a bit dumb with his hair like that. this is hardly a straightforward or easy emotional time for him. he probably went home and cried for week and refused to consider that he might have been crying for wwx just as much as jyl
that being said I have limited sympathy for him over grieving wwx. like he didn't even try. he wanted him dead, and he died. though characteristically, wwx succeeded where he failed in actually doing the deed
DYING WITH A SMILE ON HIS FACE. HE KILLS ME I SAY
lwj obviously is devastated but jc here is shaking his head, as in disgust or disapproval. really, jc? he's dead, and you're still going to hold him in contempt?
this 'wei ying' got me way more than the first one did. soft, and broken, and full of regret.

I do get the feeling that Raph and Donnie were taking on most of the responsibility prior to the start of the show - Raph as the oldest and Donnie as the one who could fix things - which translates into how they have the most solid idea of their roles on the team straight off when they do start fighting crime.
Raph is the big brother, the brother who is biggest. He's strongest and a physical protection for the younger turtles, but more than that he's the one they can always turn to when things are bad. Raph always has a plan - not always a good plan - but always something that will get them to stop panicking and let them move on to what needs to be done. Whether Mind Raph is a connection of some sort or just imagination, it is significant that Leo summons him despite Leo being better at plans than Raph. When out of his depth Leo's immediate instinct is to turn to Raph. This role puts a lot of pressure on Raph - especially when Splinter's so often struggled to be present for his children - but it's also vital to his sense of self since he's built his own identity on it. It's not until the end of the series that Raph faces the need to let go a bit and let his brothers take care of him sometimes.
As part of a team Raph assumes the big brother role translates into being the leader, and as he's the only one who wants that kind of responsibility the others are fine with him taking it. When they challenge him it's usually on specifics, not because they want his role. Raph's also the impetus behind them becoming "heroes", which probably ties to the older sibling role. Raph's used to approval coming when he takes care of and protects people and he extends both the protectiveness and the hope for approval to human society. The Mutant Menace shows this best, I think, and also that Leo's lack of interest in being heroes might stem from cynicism. Leo really doesn't expect them to ever be appreciated (and is more aware that sometimes they cause more problems than they solve even if he won't usually admit it).
Donnie is the Tech Guy. Which might not sound like a family role, but in their family they can't just call a plumber or an electrician. Donnie's been vital to their quality of life ever since he started building things. The result is that he's both arrogant, frustrated that his brothers don't seem to contribute as much as he does, and fragile and defensive about his role, afraid that if anyone else could take it or mystic magic made it redundant he wouldn't have a role at all.
This translates to a team role really easily, but brings all the same insecurities with it. Donnie remains highly specialised yet irreplaceable and aware of both.
So between them, Raph looks after the people, Donnie looks after the infrastructure people need, and Mikey and Leo are kind of what they're looking after.
Mikey cooks, but it seems more like he cooks when he wants to. If he doesn't want to they get take out or fend for themselves, we see turtles rummaging in the fridge sometimes. Being the optimist, being happy, being appreciative of the protection he's given, also seem like things Mikey does consciously.
As a member of the team Mikey seems least hung up on defining his role, but does go from general optimism to trying to manage people's emotions (Dr Feelings is new to Donnie in Breaking Purple) and attempts to bring people into the family. Sheldon and Draxum could both in different ways be considered family at one remove and Mikey tries to mediate between them and his siblings.
Leo helps with chores that require venturing above I expect - these mostly fall to anyone but Mikey prior to Hot Soup: The Game. Chores that require talking to humans, even briefly, may explain why he thinks of himself as the "face man". Mostly I expect he helps out here and there without having any defined thing he's meant to be doing.
Leo's the least secure in the transition from family to team because, while he didn't require a role to be part of the family, he feels like he does require one to be part of the team. But unlike Raph and Donnie he's not sure what his role is and despite casting himself as "face man" never really seems sure of his place.

Ok then, you've inspired spicy Chase thoughts within my brain. Now, you have to suffer with them with me
NSFW warning for whoever is reading my ask
1) Chase coming back after a tiring mission that went somewhat messy (not messy like anyone got hurt messy, messy like his hair is a mess, etc) and his only thoughts that got him through the mission was finding his s/o afterwards and spending time with them. However, he doesn't get a chance to change out of his mission suit or fix his appearance when his s/o finds him, he's so excited to see them and hold them again that he just runs over to them, but as he approaches them he notices their expression is different than he's used to, he realizes it's the look of desire and figures out (not quickly) that it's his appearance + mission suit, so of course he uses this to his full advantage, they however get the advantage when they call him "mission leader" and basically turn Chase into a flustered mess. Chase doesn't change out of his mission suit that night.
While I do agree that Chase enjoys giving punishments, I don't think he'd be into anything that would cause his partner physical pain. Chase has received a lot of pain within his life and through missions and always tries to stop it from happening to his family, so I really can't see him wanting his partner to feel that. His protective instincts take over and I honestly don't think he'd even have it in him with how sweet and sensitive he is to do anything that would hurt them, even though they've consented to it.
I also don't think Chase would enjoy degradation, because he's had so many things thrown at him in a hurtful way so I don't think he'd want to take that into the bedroom. (His time with his partner is very much an escape from all that ails/hurts/stresses him)
I think if Chases partner was much shorter than him that it would awaken a size kink within him. (I don't think the roles would reverse though if his partner was taller than him and pointed that out to him, he's had his height used against too much and would probably feel insecure)
Fin.
i agree with all of this 100%!!
the first one is putting too many thoughts in my brain. god.
i feel like he’d definitely go to his s/o for stress relief/adrenaline after harder missions, and he definitely needs them more often than not afterward (and lord knows i love his mission suit)

92% for sib & demos (have i ever asked you a question on tumblr rather than discord? lord help)
Oh my it has been a hot minute my friend! But here we are! Thank you for sending one in! Let’s get to it!
92%. Is your character particularly confident? Does their confidence level change if less people are around?
Siberite
She is very confident in many parts of herself. From her physical appearance to her diplomatic skills to her ability to get others to pay for things on her behalf. It almost is a stubborn kind of confidence, like it just comes from the fact that she's too stubborn to let anyone tell her she can't. She will go and go until she decides she can't anymore. This is useful when she runs away from home finally and everyone in Ul'dah says she can't but she knows she can, she knows she can be capable of doing the fighting if they just let her show them. The only time she really starts to doubt her skills are with the time in the ending of ARR into Heavensward, she'll still put on the show that she's the best and capable at everything but there's so much more pressure and attention to detail in her actions.
In terms of people being around it doesn't effect her confidence anymore. She used to be less confident in bigger crowds just due to the fact she never could say the right thing or follow the right etiquette and it would result in some lecture from her mother, so she just kind of stayed quiet if possible and away from most people at the party. Her parents really are about the only ones that will make her confidence falter at this point. They just bring about this sense of smallness for her and can make her feel like she's not doing enough or just doing everything wrong. It was something she was unaware would still effect her until she sees them once again in EW and completely shut down. Though she should have seen that it was possible considering her reaction (or lack there of) to what the twins' dad did.
Demos
He's more confident in skills that leave a result. That never changes, he will always have that confidence. The man knows his worth in that regard. He is less confident in his ability with words. He never was much of a talker and always had a habit of fumbling over them and feeling like no one understands him when he tries to explain something. He thinks very visually and he doesn't have the words to describe certain things, much rather why he would prefer to make his feelings. He also isn't confident in his looks, he doesn't think himself unattractive, Demos just finds himself more awkward. He's on the taller side and a bit bulkier and doesn't have grace. He's tripping, bumping into people/things, letting things slip from his hands, and just you would have a hard time believing he could hold a writing utensil or paint brush with such a precise and steady hand.
This does get worse with people around as more can witness his insecurities and its why he tries to stay more in the background of things. He was absolutely not happy about becoming the new face of the WoL since it involved much more talking than both Sib and Alphie let on, and Alphie was already doubting his own skills that made Demos having to speak more on their behalf. Frankly he was fine risking the heresy with Sib handling the leaders of Ishgard if it meant he didn't have to do public speaking. Crowds will not effect his artistry and in fact he wants you to see what he's capable of, unless its from his personal sketchbooks then you gotta ask first.

For the character ask meme: Shuuhei (Bleach), Idia (Twisted Wonderland), and Maki (Fire Force).
Thank you for the ask, friend! (from this post) I had to think a lot to answer this, and I apologize for the slight delay💜
Shuuhei (Bleach)
Three things we have in Common:
Avoiding violence/conflict: Hisagi really respects Tousen's ideals of taking the "path with the least bloodshed", which can easily translate to avoiding conflict or trying to de-escalate situations rather than fighting. In my line of work, conflict is something we try to resolve peacefully and we actually have to take courses on de-escalation.
Struggling with overwhelming responsibilities: Shuuhei has to step up as the leader for his squad when Tousen betrays them. He was already Lieutenant, and it's not that he becomes captain or gets an assistant, he is just suddenly expected to perform both roles while still remaining at the llieutenant rank. Similarly, when I started the position I am currently in at work, I was handed a large mess of a caseload and expected to manage it entirely, with some support but with me being the most responsible. I am the one providing direction to several other people, and the one they ask questions of when they needed clarification, which is fine but with the size and intensity of the caseload I barely had space to breathe. I had to have a literal breakdown before management tried to actually do anything worthwhile in terms of trying to fix what was happening. And yes, I had been asking them for help for months.
Love of Music: Shuuhei has a guitar he got from the human world, and he loves to practice on it. I also love music and love to practice both singing and the piano.
Three things we don't have in common:
Appearance: I look absolutely nothing like Shuuhei, and my style is nowhere near his. (Though I think he is Very Very Handsome, and his style is really cool and something I wish I could pull off without feeling insecure)
Mood: Shuuhei is calm and stoic most of the time. Yes, I know he struggles with his own fear, but he also embraces it as part of who he is as a soldier, and it doesn't seem to plague him during his every day activities. I am riddled with anxiety and struggle heavily with self-esteem. I may appear calm, but inside my heart is racing.
Physical abilities: Shuuhei is a soldier, he is very physically capable and graceful. I trip over my own feet and clip my shoulder on doorknobs regularly.
Idia (Twisted Wonderland)
Three things we have in common:
Love of cats: I am absolutely ecstatic that it is canon Idia loves cats. I also love cats (especially my own baby) and I love snuggling them. :D
Introversion: Idia is a very introverted character, and is shown more than once to prefer being alone to being in large crowds. That is me to a T. I don't hate people, but I do prefer not to be around massive groups, especially if they're people I don't know.
Sarcasm: Idia is extremely sarcastic when he does talk, and I absolutely love it! I thrive on sarcasm and dry humour.
Three things we don't have in common:
People pleasing: I am a recovering people-pleaser. It is so hard to fight that instinct to just try to make everyone else happy at my own expense. Idia is not that. He does not like going above and beyond for others, which honestly is something I admire because I do need to continue working on setting my boundaries and putting myself first.
Tech-savvy: Idia is extremely tech-savvy. I am not. I can trouble-shoot to a small extent and I can infer things...and I can call the IT help line. Idia would be *running* the IT help line. lol.
Bitterness: Idia tends to have a very bitter worldview. While my own worldview can at times be bleak or a bit gloomy, I tend to be less bitter about things other people do to me and I internalize 'blame' (for lack of a better word), where Idia seems to internalize it a bit less and put more external blame (such as how he blames his parents for the way he treats his classmates in book 6 at Styx; stating that he doesn't want to be there and that it isn't his fault, and that he is suffering too. Not that I'm saying he's doing anything bad or that he's wrong, we just have different ways we look at situations).
Maki (Fire Force)
Three things we have in common:
Insecure about looks: Maki wants to be perceived as very feminine and pretty. She often worries and stresses about her body type, and thinks she is too muscular to be considered pretty. While I may have a softer and curvier body type, I also still stress over my looks and wanting to appear feminine. Because I am a larger person, I often feel my body and my looks come across more masculine. I hate that. I like looking very feminine. It is a huge insecurity for me.
Reluctance for violence: despite being a soldier, Maki does not want to hurt people. She will use force as necessary but that doesn't mean she likes to. I also do not like violence and I try to prevent and/or avoid conflict (depending on the situation).
Silliness: Maki likes using her fire abilities for fun, making little puffballs of flame and naming them. It's really cute, and it shows her silly side a bit, which I really like. I also have a bit of a silly side, and I like cute things similar to what Maki likes, so I identify with that a lot.
Three things we don't have in common:
Clothes: Maki often wears a shirt and jeans when dressed in civilian clothing, and feels as though her body can't pull off dresses and skirts. I go the opposite way, and purposefully wear skirts and dresses as much as I can because 1. I like it and it's comfy and 2. it helps me feel more feminine and less insecure.
Mishearing others: Maki often seems to mishear what others say about her and immediately leaps to the conclusion they are insulting her. She becomes very angry when this happens. I also tend to mishear others, but I prefer to ask for clarification and then laugh off the misunderstanding rather than to immediately jump to accusations and fighting.
Physical abilities: Maki is a soldier and is very skilled in combat. I am not. Once again, I tend to run into things quite a bit and I do not have combat training.
There you go! Hope you enjoyed those answers. Thank you again for the ask, friend!!

@just-some-guy-joust general propaganda, because i love them both, im sorry
In Greg's favor (my original propaganda as his submitter!):
he is a not-very-successful musician who dresses plainly, lives out of his van, and overall has a pretty happy mediocre life. his last name wasn't even originally Universe, he chose that one himself because he liked it (good for him, but also accentuates the fact that any deviation from the "just some guy" template was his own deliberate decision).
...by contrast, his son is half alien and is raised by a group of extremely competent alien rebels as a result. they go into battle to destroy alien threats constantly. the alien whom Greg had his son with was the leader of a rebellion and runaway royalty, and her death left interstellar socio-political ripples. sometimes he even explicitly feels insecure about how normal and useless he is compared to all of them, and gets left behind and out of the loop of information more frequently than his kid, who is like, maybe 8 years old.
Greg Universe is really just some middle aged guy from an extremely plain and regular background. His biggest achievements are 1) managing to woo a big space lady and 2) writing enough corny space themed music that one of his songs ended up getting reused for a commercial jingle. he ended up getting a lot of money for the commercial jingle and immediately didn't know what to do with it. the most expensive thing he could think of to buy was "college for my son"
In Mob's favor (hiii shigeo my blorbo ever):
i actually think this is an incredible matchup because Shigeo is actually almost Greg's exact opposite. While Greg is born a completely normal guy and tries really hard to follow his dreams and pursue his individuality and interests (but ultimately remains just some guy in his heart), Shigeo is born one of the most powerful espers and internalizes early on that he is different from others, that he's estranged from them, that he'll never be really human like anyone else.
While Greg is a side character who wants to help and be important in his own son's life, Shigeo is a main character against his will. His primary aspiration is to get physically fit and impress his crush. Aspiring to be physically fit when you have telekinesis strong enough to crush buildings is really one of the most some guy things you can do.
Shigeo is a main character, a powerful and encumbered protagonist, burdened by all the things that come with it. Evil organizations targeting and kidnapping him and his loved ones, altercations with violent and frightening ghosts, stumbling into and unintentionally disassembling a cult, other espers seeing him as a threat or a challenger, everyone looking up to him and treating him differently for his skill.
Until Reigen doesn't treat him differently. Until Reigen sits down with him and tells him that his psychic powers are just a skill he has, just like anyone else. Just like someone who is born super strong, or super smart, or super beautiful, it's just the luck of the draw and it's what he does with it that matters. He doesn't have some kind of destiny to live up to, he can just be.
So in conclusion Greg Universe is just some guy that wants to be acknowledged and appreciated for his (slightly mediocre) talents, and aspires to live authentically, and Kageyama Shigeo is just some guy that wants to be seen as a normal kid instead of being exclusively seen for his talents. And aspires to live authentically.
the guy who is just some guy down to his core and at least wants to have fun with it, versus the guy who is so inherently unique and is a Plot Events Magnet but just wants to join the body improvement club and do decent in school.
the mundane guy who wants to be unique and the unique guy who wants to be mundane.
Just Some Guy Joust - Side B: Round 2
Rules you must follow or you will be blocked:
do not diss on any of the characters. hype characters up, don't bring them down.
do not be mean to any other voters, either on a personal level or in general. if you are trying to joke around, you must clarify because we cannot tell the difference.
do not claim a character does not deserve to be here. this includes claiming a character doesn't count as just some guy. if you hate it that much, make your own tournament.
if i genuinely fucked something up and did not notice please GENTLY poke me about it. passive aggressiveness will be ignored.
if you are posting propaganda you have to @ tag us, including if your propaganda is in the reblogs. it is difficult to tell when something is or isn't propaganda. anything not tagging us will be missed.
we see practically everything you put in the tags. don't say some shit that you wouldn't say to our faces. be respectful.
#THIS MATCHUP IS REALLY SO WILD#like even their hair is opposite.#i love them both vote whoever you want#(i was obligated to vote greg because i submitted him but. it was not an easy choice)#some guy joust#tournament polls#poll propaganda

I feel like some people within this fandom have forgotten this fact, so this is a super friendly reminder that Hunter has higher-than-average observation skills, especially with other people.
He is able to make quick and accurate assessments of Luz and Amity's personalities in Hunting Palismen and Eclipse Lake, despite both episodes being the first time he spends any significant amount of time with either of them (Because threatening Luz for two minutes in Separate Tides doesn't really count as a meaningful conversation)
Hunter is powerless, with a weapon pointed at his face, and is still able to maintain his composure and clearly and confidently lay out the fact that he knows Luz is bluffing here.
Likewise, he's able to quickly get a read on Amity in Eclipse Lake, and relate her insecurities about her relationship with Luz to his own struggles with his Uncle in order to gain Amity's sympathy and trust while also being the one who was most knowledgeable about their surroundings and keeping them alive, in spite of Eda and King's antics.
This continues into the end of the episode. Even when he's in the middle of a mental breakdown, Hunter is STILL able to keep his observation skills sharp and realize that; 1.) He has come into this fight already pretty spent after fighting off the other Coven Scouts 2.) He's using a new weapon he isn't used to yet, which differs enough from his former staff to throw him off 3.) Amity has allies in the form of King (who kept jumping in and making the fight more difficult for him) and Eda (who he knows is probably on her way) 4.) Amity's not a slouch, so all of these disadvantages will probably NOT work in his favor if he keeps trying what he's doing and doesn't change tactics.
The fact that he's got her at a stalemate is already pretty impressive, given the fact that the fight is heavily weighted in Amity's favor here. But, rather than continue combat, Hunter goes for what he knows to be Amity's weakness in order to secure what he needs, and reminds her that if she keeps the key, Luz WILL be in danger.
Then we have my personal favorite example of this, where we watch Hunter look at Willow and go from "Wow, she's awesome (neutral)" to "Wow. She's awesome (affectionate)"
Right off the bat, Hunter clocks Willow's talents. Her strengths with both magic and her physical skills, as well as her courage. But then she does something no one else ever did before.
She proves that his skills of observation, which he is obviously VERY proud of, are not infallible.
Hunter wrote off the rest of the Emerald Entrails as lost causes when he first laid eyes on them and nearly walked away from what ended up being one of the best things to ever happen to him, but Willow stopped him and proved his first impressions of the others to be wrong.
I feel like people underestimate just how much this exchange impacted Hunter, in many different ways. THIS was the turning point that made him take notice of Willow as more than just a potential Emperor's Coven scout. Here, she proved herself not only to be a capable leader, but even better then HIM at observing and assessing the talents of others. With Luz and Amity, Hunter was able to observe them in about the same amount of time, assess them accurately, and apply what he observes to get the outcome HE wants. But with Willow, right from the second he meets her, he's caught off guard, and swept up in HER energy. She's constantly surprising him, and effortlessly has him marching to the beat of her drum.
And even after he insulted her team and tried to blow them off, she gave him a second chance. Second chances are NEVER offered in the Emperor's Coven. There, failure is final. Which is probably a big reason why upsetting Willow impacted Hunter as much as it did.
And even at the end of the episode, Willow is still surprising Hunter. It's clear as day he didn't expect her to give him another chance, after he tried to have them indoctrinated into the Coven. He thought there was no coming back from that. He wasn't doing it to be forgiven. He was doing it because he cared about the team, realized he made a mistake, and wanted to save them from that mistake before it was too late to do so. Even though he obviously thought that Willow would never want anything to do with him ever again. But, just like before, Willow proved that he thought wrong.
So yeah, Hunter is NOT the naive, sheltered, inexperienced abuse victim that's completely ignorant of how to interact with others that some people like to portray him as. Not only does Hunter possess the power of observation and the ability to quickly assess someone's strengths, weaknesses, goals, and capabilities, but he's used to being quick and accurate in doing so even in extreme situations, and takes a great deal of pride in this ability. And he is NOT walking into his crush on Willow blind. He's been observing her, and his respect and affection for her has grown with every new side of her that he sees.

Your request are open so I hope you don't mind <3. Shsjdjdj I just love Yukichi so much. May I ask for hcs of him being on an age gap relationship? (Like 25 years old reader.) Like he's being insecure that you needed to be with someone's younger or that he's too old for you— with fluff in the end please 🥺💮
a/n: oh yes I absolutely don't mind! I hope these are okay :) I know a few 10+ year age gap couples so I'll try to base these off those if you don't mind ehe
being in a relationship with a large age gap
featuring: Fukuzawa x GN!Reader
He's happy and grateful that you two are romantically involved, but there are fears in the back of his head that he does his best to suppress.
First is public opinion. Many frown upon this type of relationship and he's afraid that it would ruin both of your (but especially yours) reputations, which is why only a select few are aware of it. He's fortunate that all of those who know support you two fully but it's hard to know how others might react.
Keeping the relationship a secret is not exactly difficult as he thought it would be. Given his occupation and position, most of his subordinates and acquaintances respect his silence on the matter. They all just assume it's for his partner's safety.
That doesn't mean it's not inconvenient at times, though. Sometimes he's wary whenever you go out or are alone together - he's not sure if it's alright to show even the slightest of physical affection. You'll be walking together and his mind is in turmoil over whether he should hold your hand or not.
Another is other parties romantically interested in you. Your age and of course your personality is attractive to many, and most of those are those in the same age group as yours. The possibility of there being someone more attuned to your tastes and preferences (as well as the culture of your age) is high. What if you realize you enjoy their company more than his?
This is his greatest fear. Aside from his age, his tight schedule as president leaves him with little time and energy to spend with you than he would like. The thought of someone else consoling you, doing things that he should be doing, and ultimately replacing him worries him constantly.
This is why he checks on you often. Texting you, sending you flowers and other small gifts, and verbally asking you how you're doing are his preferred ways of showing he cares. You can expect more expensive presents whenever he's busy and/or a little anxious over that new guy you've been talking with recently.
Okay enough angst HAHA some fluff!
The nicest thing about you being so young is your energy. Somehow you can talk thrice as long as he could, while he listens (although not always attentively - this guy's got stuff on his mind too). The things you share and the frequent change of pace is a welcome breath of fresh air. It makes him feel young, too.
Advice-giving was always his strong suit - or at least that's the role the people around him assigned him to - so you don't have to look far for guidance even for the most mundane things.
What he just doesn't understand no matter how hard he tries is your sense of humor. Pop culture, memes, you name it. Well, to be fair he's not the type to understand the humor of his own generation way back then anyway, but if you want someone to stare at you confused and concerned then you've got your guy.
Here's a funny thing about your relationship: both of you are so worried for each other that you both secretly take care of the other too much. For example: he'll do some chores for you when you're out because he believes that the older one should take of the younger one; this is because they have more experience and should help those less-experienced.
On the flip side, you do the exact same thing because in your head, you should be taking care of him since he's older and needs to rest more. Not to mention his current position as a leader. It ends up that chores get done twice without the other knowing, until one day you caught him doing "your" chores.
Favorite activity is relaxing or sleeping together. Whether or not you're both exhausted, he thinks it's the best way for you two to bond while being able to recharge. These are also the times when he doesn't have to think of anything and just enjoy your presence.
At the end of the day, as long as you choose to be with him and are mature enough to understand the world he lives in, then there your relationship will pretty be much like any other.
