drew some of my fav ody designs! wasnt originally meant to be also replicating the styles but thats sort of just how my brain works. except i didnt copy the lineart styles of anyone here so its DEFINITELY a bit uncanny for a couple of these (LOOKING AT YOU QINNY IM SO SORRY) but whatever

WITH A GUN. gfrdfvb vfrdedrf#i am a very normal non anxiety having person i swear guys#worst thing i did here was have odys hands very visible for the qinny one. because i didnt realize the way they draw hands is very realisti#BUT THEIR WHOLE STYLE HAS REALLY REALISTIC ANATOMY I SHOULVE KNOWN#irunakis style is SO fun to draw in bc its a lot like some of my older art so its very familiar yk yk i wasnt worrying too much about makin#-things accurate. but i think that accidentally made me too comfortable and so i ended up straying a bit too much#i think a lot of irunaki and qinnys styles specifically is in the lineart. so me using my normal style of lines makes them less recognizabl#anyways. neals odysseus i have shit talked in private (its a good design it just feels uncanny w/ jorges voice to me) but hes really-#-interesting to draw. i wanna do style studies on neal their characters have a very. idk animated feels like the wrong word but like.#something like animated. feeling to them. theyre very distinct in shape i wanna do studies thats it#bigidiotenergy i found this morning while FINALLY looking at cloudysseus art and instantly fell in love w their design#i need to ruffle his hair. hes so silly. absolutely incredible design. but GOD was the style a nightmare#it was too late id already comitted to trying to replicate the styles. but ohhh my god its so far from my own it was so hard#theres so much detail in places i dont normally put any at all#and its like. WAUGH its scary i need to do anatomy studies in general maybe#uhh havent commented on the gigi one. he was really easy to draw though lol. weirdly enough gigis style was close enough to my current one-#-that i didnt have any trouble whatsoever? and i think its the most accurate too but only because of the lineart styles being similar lol#ALSO NOT TO PLAY FAVORITES BUT FOOP ODYSSEUS IS MY FAVORITE#I LOVE HIMMM I LOVE HIS SILLY SHAPES HE LOOKS LIKE A WEIRD CAT KINDA. Do you think sometimes when the team has a movie night, when they watch those 60's action war movies like "Von Ryan's Express" and "Battle of the Bulge" or spaghetti westerns like "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" and "Death Rides on a Horse," Soldier pauses during or right after fight scenes or duels or whatever to obsessively overanalyze them. Like, he'll try and turn them into strategies to use on the job, takes, uhm, 'notes', (tactical doodles,) sets up nerdy models using a whiteboard map and improvised figurines, uses these examples when he does those psyche-up pre-battle speeches or during strategy meetings.
'Cause I bet he does, I bet he does that, and it completely kills the momentum of the movie to the point where the rest of the team gets disinterested and slowly leaves him behind to do their own thing.
I genuinely bet Engie wouldn't though, nah, I bet he's enough of a patient kind of gentle kind of man willing to stick through these pauses 'cause he's just that into the movie. And maybe he's just a teeny bit into Soldier's dissections of actiony chaos. Maybe gleans a bit of an understanding of Soldier's thinking that way. Admires the guy's passion about his 'research,' how thoughtfully he gathers details in an effort to help the team. Starts mixing in tapes for these sorts of movies more regularly to their movie night pool maybe subconsciously, maybe on purpose. The rest of the team doing their own movie night. losers.

MORE Akijun angst time, but it's mostly Akihiko angst because i love projecting my awful attachment issues onto Akihiko and making him suffer in general <33
I love the idea of Akihiko being so scared of his feelings for Junpei once he realizes he has them. After all, Akihiko has lost everyone else close to him, so what's stopping Junpei from being a part of that same fate? Shoot, Akihiko already watched Junpei die (before Chidori saved him, of course). It could happen again, and the last thing Aki would want is to seal such a fate for Junpei, all because of his own stupid feelings...
It sucks because Junpei is pretty affectionate and clingy, so i can imagine Aki hurting as Junpei tries to get closer to him. But he lets Junpei in anyway, because Akihiko doesn't strike me as the avoidant type.
In fact, I think Akihiko would be fall into the anxious attachment type (projection), even if he tries to bury it and act like he's fine. I really like the idea of Aki having some kind of separation anxiety, and him being so damn worried about Junpei's wellbeing all the time. When Junpei doesn't answer his calls (cuz he's busy or...actually this is junpei his phone is prolly just dead LOL) or is late to something, it drives Akihiko crazy. Same for if Junpei is sick or hurt. Aki hurts too. Especially when he can't heal Junpei and can only just watch. It reminds Akihiko of all the times he couldn't help others in his life.
However, Aki tries soooo hard not to be as controlling and overprotective with Junpei like he was with Shinji. After all, he's done holding onto the pain of the past, and feeling all guilty or worried over things out of his control. He's had his character development, i won't erase that.
But Aki's only human..and it's so hard to feel fine when Akihiko couldn't live with himself if something happened to Junpei. Especially after he's lost pretty much everyone, and it seems that's the path destined for his loved ones. It's so hard to not have those "what if's...", even if Aki has no reason to suspect anything bad is going to happen. He promised he'd protect everyone and that includes Junpei.
In the end, though, Junpei is always there for Akihiko. All of Akihiko's crippling worries seem to wash away when he opens his eyes to Junpei sleeping peacefully next to him. Or when Akihiko comes back from a morning jog and notices the breakfast and lovely note written for him sitting on the table...I think I've mentioned Junpei comforting Akihiko when he has nightmares/flashbacks. Well, I think Junpei would do more too! Like reassuring Akihiko when his worries get the best of him, making sure to text Aki before he gets too busy to respond, and overall giving Aki all the love and hugs he deserves.
Akihiko is so used to feeling so lost and out of control, especially when it comes to those around him. But I think Junpei would truly heal the side of Akihiko that still hurts, and he'd show Aki that he's never alone🥲

#oni talks#thoughts#context: based my current dnds current familiar on the Potoo & had a session today that reminded me how much I love potoos#Also important context the Potoo was doing a dragons breath moment but acid which is just so fun to imagine#I have a bunch of birds I’d put in fantasy versions of as my familiar if they ever go down coz I just really like birds & find familiar is#basically asking for bird time!! like nightjars & frogmouths!! ALSO my current familiar is the common Potoo & depending on what happens I#like to think towards the end of the campaign it will be a great Potoo (probably with other bird types in between)#other option is a Harpy eagle coz that feels pretty fitting? OR there’s a few different vampire themed birds that would fit so good#for any DnD fans context is we’re playing curse of strahd & ofc for the one break we did for a one shot I just played a kenku (bird ppl)#He’s a cha I had for a long time who is named after a sound cats make so he’s a lil bird guy making cat sounds & also his most recent#iteration is as a drag queen who danced so good (as birds so often do) the party didn’t die (he’s a dance bard) I love birds so much#also making fantasy animals based on irl animals is so fun even if it’s basically just a color/aesthetic swap#OH ALSO Owlet-Nightjars are so pretty! tbh I’m surprised I haven’t had more bird characters at this point it’s only the kenku#& also this aarakocra (?) I made once for an art prompt but have yet to play I wanna say he was a paladin but I’d have to check he was based#on like the sun and also stained glass & also kinda how baby eagles look just meant to be white & gold & fluffy#I wish more casters naturally got find familiar if I could I would probably give every character a themed familiar

awesome. ive had Nightmares two nights in a row now
#my whole family was murdered except for my brother who managed to escape#i was dead. i was very much shot in the face and killed#i also nesrly escaped but one of the guys saw me and asked if i wanted it to be painless.#i said 'just do it from here please. please dont make me come to you.'#and then pov switched to following my brother.and i eventually realized it was me following him#i just remember thinking i have to watch over him. i have to make sure he stays alive. i have to make sure he doesnt kill himself.#then i remember my body being.. semi autopsied ? people after the murder were looking over my body. at my teeth and gums. my hands.#i was concious as this was happening. i was rhinking how i cant just 'wake up' right now#but i eventually did when they went to look at the rest of my family's bodies. and i guess i left to find my brother for Real#i met a kid at a seven eleven who was talking about raggedy ann dolls to me. i like. wasnt all bloody and Bullet Holed anymore#but i remember thinking'why isnt she scared of all the blood on me'#i kinda woke up after that#idk. its early 1 am now. that sucked. goodnight for real.#first one was just my dad being a dickhead and disrespecting 1 my time and 2 my physical boundaries Sitting too close to me and guilting me#over ‘making him feel bad’ over both those things#dream journal
