It Takes A Village- Part Two
Age: 5-12
Part One
Spencer and Naomi Reid became a powerful duo. Unless he was fighting crime somewhere in America, he had his daughter everywhere he went. Thick as thieves, two peas in a pod, however you decided to phrase it, that’s who they were.
It worked partly through his ability to adapt and build his life around her, partly through her easy going nature, and mostly to Mrs. Patterson who lived across the hall. The elderly woman who had become like a mother and grandmother to the duo.
Mrs. Patterson, with her silver hair neatly pinned back and a warm smile that seemed to always be ready, had taken to Naomi as if she were her own granddaughter. The bond between them was immediate and effortless, almost as if fate had placed them in each other's paths.
Spencer's work often demanded odd hours and sudden trips, leaving little time to worry about the day-to-day logistics of parenting. Mrs. Patterson stepped in without hesitation, her apartment door always open for Naomi. She was a source of comfort and stability, offering after-school snacks, helping with homework, or simply being a listening ear when Naomi wanted to share stories about her day. Her presence allowed Spencer to focus on his work, knowing that his daughter was in safe, loving hands.
For Naomi, Mrs. Patterson became a confidante and a mentor. She would often tell Naomi stories from her own childhood, tales of a different time that captured Naomi's vivid imagination. They would bake cookies together, Mrs. Patterson guiding Naomi's small hands as they rolled out the dough, or they would sit in the cozy living room, reading books aloud. Naomi loved these moments, finding in Mrs. Patterson a kindred spirit who seemed to understand her in ways that were both surprising and comforting.
The relationship between Spencer and Mrs. Patterson also grew. He was initially hesitant to accept so much help, but over time, he saw how much Naomi thrived under her care. He found himself stopping by Mrs. Patterson's apartment more often, just to chat or to thank her for being there. Their conversations, which started with discussions about Naomi's day or a new recipe Mrs. Patterson had tried, eventually deepened into talks about life, loss, and the challenges of single parenting.
Spencer's respect and gratitude for Mrs. Patterson grew with each passing day. She had become more than just a neighbor; she was family. And in many ways, she filled the gaps in Naomi's life that Spencer worried he couldn't cover alone.
One Saturday afternoon, Spencer and Naomi were returning home from a day filled with laughter and face painting at the local park's annual fair. Naomi had insisted they both get their faces painted—hers as a lion, fierce and proud, while Spencer had been transformed into a tiger. The two of them had drawn smiles and chuckles as they wandered through the fair, Spencer trying his best to match Naomi’s enthusiasm as she led him from one booth to another.
As they approached their apartment building, still riding the high of their day out, they noticed a woman standing outside the entrance. She was older, with graying hair and a kind face, but there was an unmistakable air of sadness about her. Naomi, ever curious, bounced ahead, her lion’s mane of painted whiskers and golden fur still intact. Spencer quickly recognized the woman as Mrs. Patterson’s daughter, a person he had only met briefly before.
“Naomi, why don’t you head inside and grab your coloring book?” Spencer suggested gently, sensing that the conversation ahead might not be one for young ears. Naomi hesitated, looking up at her father with a small frown, but he gave her a reassuring nod. Reluctantly, she agreed and skipped inside, leaving Spencer to face Mrs. Patterson’s daughter alone.
“Hello,” Spencer greeted, trying to keep his tone neutral, though his stomach was already tightening with a sense of foreboding. “Is everything okay?”
The woman smiled softly, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “Hello, Dr. Reid. I’m sorry to just show up like this, but I wanted to speak with you before anyone else did.” She paused, glancing at the door where Naomi had disappeared. “My mother… Mrs. Patterson… she’s moving out. We’re relocating her to live closer to me and my family. It’s not something we planned, but… her health isn’t what it used to be.”
The news hit Spencer harder than he expected. Mrs. Patterson had been a constant in their lives, a stable presence that made both his and Naomi’s world feel a little more secure. The thought of losing her, even just as a neighbor, was unsettling. “I see,” he said quietly, trying to mask his concern. “Does she know yet?”
The woman nodded. “She does. And she wanted to tell you herself, but she’s having a hard time with the idea of leaving. I thought it might be easier if you heard it from me first.”
Spencer took a deep breath, trying to process the implications. Mrs. Patterson’s departure would be a significant change, especially for Naomi, who had grown so close to her. “I appreciate you telling me,” he finally said. “Naomi… she’s going to take this hard.”
“I know,” the woman replied sympathetically. “But you’ll have some time to prepare her. We’re not moving for another week or so. My mother would love to spend some time with Naomi before she goes.”
Spencer nodded, his mind already racing with thoughts of how to explain this to his daughter. “Of course. We’ll make sure to do that.”
They exchanged a few more words before the woman left, and Spencer stood there for a moment, staring at the door, trying to gather himself. He knew Naomi would be waiting inside, likely coloring away, her mind still full of the fun they’d had at the fair. It pained him to think about how that joy would soon be shadowed by the news he had to deliver.
When he finally went inside, Naomi was sprawled on the living room floor, her coloring book open to a page full of animals. She looked up as he entered, a bright smile on her face, her lion makeup still mostly intact. “Did you talk to her, Daddy?”
Spencer forced a smile and sat down beside her, ruffling her hair gently. “I did, sweetheart. Mrs. Patterson’s daughter was just letting me know something important.”
Naomi blinked up at him, her eyes curious. “What’s important?”
Spencer hesitated, unsure of how to put it in a way that would be gentle but honest. “Mrs. Patterson is going to move to live closer to her daughter. She won’t be living next door anymore.”
Naomi’s smile faltered, and she sat up straighter, her brow furrowing. “Why does she have to go? I don’t want her to leave.”
Spencer pulled her into his lap, holding her close as he felt the weight of her words. “I know, Naomi. It’s hard. But sometimes, people have to move for different reasons. Mrs. Patterson isn’t feeling as strong as she used to, and her daughter wants to take care of her. It’s because she loves her, just like I love you.”
Naomi was quiet for a moment, her head resting against his chest. “Will I still see her?”
Spencer swallowed the lump in his throat. “We can visit her when we can. And she’ll want to see you before she moves, to spend some special time together.”
Naomi nodded slowly, but Spencer could feel the tension in her small body, the beginning of an understanding that things were changing. He held her close, wishing he could protect her from every difficult moment life would throw their way, but knowing he couldn’t. All he could do was be there, as steady as he could be, for her.
The week passed quickly, with Mrs. Patterson and Naomi spending as much time together as possible. They baked cookies, watched movies, and shared stories, creating memories that Spencer hoped would last in Naomi’s heart for years to come. On the day Mrs. Patterson finally moved out, Naomi hugged her tightly, tears streaming down her cheeks, and Spencer felt his own heart breaking at the sight.
Naomi didn’t sleep well for the next few nights. Each night, Spencer would tuck her in, read her a story, and kiss her goodnight, but within an hour, she would quietly appear in the doorway of his room. Her small figure, framed by the nightlight in the hallway, seemed even tinier in those moments.
“Daddy,” she would whisper, her voice soft and hesitant. “Can I sleep in your bed?”
And each time, Spencer’s heart would squeeze with a mix of love and concern. He never hesitated in his response. “Of course, sweetheart,” he’d say, lifting the covers and making room for her beside him.
Naomi would climb into the bed, curling up next to him, her little body pressed close as if seeking the reassurance that everything would be okay. Spencer would drape an arm around her, feeling the rapid beat of her heart slowly calm as she settled in. Sometimes she would drift off quickly, her breathing evening out as she fell into a deeper sleep, but other times, she would lie awake, her eyes open in the dim light, staring at nothing in particular.
Spencer knew that she was processing the change in her own way, grappling with the unfamiliar feeling of loss. He considered taking her to get professional help, a child therapist who could help her through her complex feelings in a way he couldn’t. He knew that as much as he loved his daughter, there were things she might not be able to express to him, no matter how close they were. A professional could give her tools to understand and cope with the sadness she was feeling. He decided to give her one more week to adjust. He kept a close eye on her, watching for any signs that she might need more help than he could provide. Each night, when she appeared in his doorway, he welcomed her into his bed without hesitation, knowing that for now, she just needed to feel safe and close to him. By day five, he noticed changes. Naomi started sleeping better, staying in her own bed at night. She seemed less on edge and started to laugh more.
Then, she started school. Preschool had worked wonders for Naomi. The structured environment, the new friends, and the variety of activities gave her a sense of excitement and independence. She quickly adapted to the routines, eagerly learning her letters and numbers, proudly bringing home scribbled drawings and art projects that she insisted be displayed on the refrigerator.
Naomi thrived in the classroom, her natural curiosity and easygoing nature making her a favorite among the teachers. She loved storytime, where she could listen to new tales and sometimes make up her own endings. Spencer would often find her sitting cross-legged on the floor, a picture book spread out in front of her, her little finger tracing the illustrations as she quietly narrated the story to herself.
Socially, Naomi blossomed. She made friends easily, her friendly demeanor drawing others to her. She was often at the center of playtime, whether it was building block towers, playing dress-up, or creating elaborate games of pretend. The other children gravitated toward her, and she quickly formed close bonds with a few of her classmates. Spencer was grateful for this, knowing how important it was for her to build these early relationships.
At home, Naomi’s confidence grew as she shared stories about her day, recounting who she played with and what she learned. Spencer would listen intently, asking questions and marveling at how much she was growing, both intellectually and socially. He could see that preschool had given her a new sense of independence, a budding confidence that she carried with her outside the classroom.
Of course, there were challenges too. There were mornings when Naomi would cling to Spencer’s leg, reluctant to let go, tears welling in her eyes as she pleaded to stay home. Those moments tugged at his heart, but he knew it was all part of the process. He would kneel down, reassuring her that she would have a great day and that he would be there to pick her up afterward. With a final hug, she would eventually let go, waving goodbye with a hesitant smile.
As the school year progressed, these tearful goodbyes became less frequent. Naomi began to eagerly look forward to her days at school, excited about the new things she would learn and the fun she would have with her friends. She began to take pride in her accomplishments, beaming when she showed Spencer the stars and smiley faces her teacher had drawn on her work.
Naomi’s fifth birthday arrived with the first blush of summer, a time of warmth and endless possibilities. The days were getting longer, and the air was filled with the scent of blooming flowers and freshly cut grass. For Naomi, the excitement of turning five was magnified by the fact that she was in the middle of a full-blown cowboy phase. For weeks now, everything had revolved around the wild, wild West—she wore her cowboy hat everywhere, demanded bedtime stories about outlaws and sheriffs, and insisted on calling Spencer "Pa." It was a phase that Spencer found both amusing and endearing, even if it meant listening to the twang of a pretend Southern drawl over breakfast every morning.
Spencer had thrown himself into planning the perfect cowboy-themed party, wanting to make this birthday one she would remember. He’d spent hours researching decorations, games, and the best places to find a cake that looked like a cowboy hat. When the big day finally arrived, he could see the excitement bubbling in Naomi, her eyes wide with anticipation as they pulled up to Rossi’s house. The party was set to take place in Rossi's spacious backyard, an ideal setting for the little cowboys and cowgirls who would soon be running around.
The backyard had been transformed into a miniature Old West, with hay bales scattered around, a cardboard saloon, and a “Wanted” poster with Naomi’s face on it that read “Wanted: For Being the Best Birthday Girl.” Rossi, ever the gracious host, had drawn the curtains inside his house, declaring the backyard off-limits until all the guests had arrived. Naomi could hardly contain her excitement, bouncing on the balls of her feet as each friend and family member trickled in.
When the party was in full swing, the kids quickly took to the games Spencer had set up. "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" was a hit, the children giggling as they took turns being spun around, trying to find the poster with the wobbly donkey. Derek, who had arrived early, had presented Naomi with a pair of fake spurs as soon as she walked through the door. She adored them immediately, strapping them to her little boots and parading around with a newfound swagger.
As the afternoon wore on, the children’s laughter filled the yard, blending with the sounds of country music playing softly in the background. Spencer watched Naomi closely, a smile tugging at his lips as he saw her glowing with happiness. This was her day, and he was determined to make every moment special.
When it was time for cake, the children gathered around the picnic table, eagerly eyeing the cake that had been crafted to look like a cowboy hat, complete with a bandana. Naomi’s face lit up as everyone sang “Happy Birthday,” her cheeks flushed with excitement. She blew out the candles with one big puff, and the cake was quickly devoured by a crowd of sticky, happy children.
After the cake was gone, it was time for presents. Naomi tore into them with enthusiasm, her eyes wide with wonder at each new gift. Dolls, books, and more cowboy-themed toys piled up around her. But just when she thought the surprises were over, Rossi stood up and cleared his throat.
“There’s one more thing, Naomi,” Rossi announced, his voice carrying over the excited chatter. He extended his hand to her, and together, they walked toward the back gate. The rest of the guests followed, curiosity piqued. Spencer stayed behind, watching with anticipation. Suddenly, a high-pitched scream of excitement echoed through the yard. Naomi came running back, her eyes shining with delight.
Rossi had outdone himself. Standing in the backyard, just beyond the gate, was a small, gentle pony, perfectly sized for the young cowboys and cowgirls at the party. The children erupted into cheers, rushing forward to get a closer look. Naomi was speechless, her hands covering her mouth as she stared in awe at the pony.
“She doesn’t have a name,” Rossi explained, handing Naomi a brush. “You get to name her, Naomi.”
For a moment, Naomi was struck silent, her mind clearly racing as she considered the possibilities. The adults around her exchanged knowing smiles, sensing the weight of this important decision. Finally, Naomi looked up, a smile spreading across her face. “Earl,” she declared with confidence. “Her name is Earl.”
The party guests couldn’t help but chuckle at the unexpected name, and even Spencer laughed, shaking his head in amused disbelief. Naomi, however, was completely serious, already brushing Earl’s mane with the utmost care.
The children took turns riding Earl, their faces lit with joy as they experienced the thrill of sitting atop the pony. Even those who were a little nervous at first quickly warmed up, the pony’s calm demeanor putting them at ease. After the rides, they fed her bits of apple and carrot, giggling as the pony’s lips tickled their hands. Naomi was in her element, the center of attention, her cowboy hat firmly in place as she showed off her newfound skills as a horsewoman.
As the sun dipped lower in the sky, casting a warm golden glow over the yard, the party began to wind down. The children were reluctant to leave, still buzzing with the excitement of the day. Naomi, however, was content, a wide smile on her face as she leaned against Spencer’s leg, her cowboy hat tilted jauntily to one side.
That night, after the last guest had left and the backyard had been returned to its usual state, Naomi asked Spencer the question he had been expecting. “Pa, can I have a pet horse?”
Spencer couldn’t help but smile at her earnestness, even as he gently explained the logistics. “We’ll think about it, sweetheart,” he said, knowing full well that their apartment wasn’t exactly horse-friendly. Naomi accepted this with a nod, her eyes already drooping with exhaustion.
As he tucked her into bed that night, Spencer couldn’t help but feel a swell of pride. Today had been perfect—Naomi had been the happiest he’d ever seen her. He bent down to kiss her forehead, whispering a soft goodnight before quietly leaving the room.
The house was silent as Spencer retreated to the living room, the events of the day still playing in his mind. He poured himself a cup of coffee, staring out the window as the city lights twinkled in the distance. He thought of how much Naomi had grown in the past year, how she had embraced her cowboy phase with the same enthusiasm she brought to everything in life. She was becoming her own person, with her own likes, dislikes, and quirks.
Spencer knew that he couldn’t be prouder of the young girl Naomi was becoming. She was brave, kind, and full of life, and he was grateful every day that he got to be her father.
As the golden days of summer gradually faded into the crisp mornings of autumn, the time came for Naomi to start elementary school. The transition from the carefree days of her cowboy adventures to the structured world of school was met with a mix of nerves and excitement. Naomi, with her backpack almost as big as she was, eagerly looked forward to the new experiences that awaited her, though a small part of her still clung to the familiar comforts of home.
Spencer could see the anticipation in her wide eyes as they pulled up to the school for the open house. The halls were filled with the chatter of parents and children, the air buzzing with the energy of new beginnings. As they made their way to Naomi’s classroom, Spencer felt a twinge of nostalgia. His little girl was growing up, stepping into a world that, while exciting, would slowly begin to shape her in ways beyond his control.
They were greeted by Mrs. Stevens, Naomi’s kindergarten teacher, who immediately knelt down to Naomi’s level with a warm smile. Mrs. Stevens had a gentle demeanor that put both of them at ease. She spoke softly to Naomi, asking about her favorite colors and what she liked to do for fun. Naomi, ever the social butterfly, answered confidently, her nerves slowly melting away. Spencer watched with a quiet pride, though a small part of him still worried about how she would fare in this new environment.
As they toured the classroom, Spencer found himself getting caught up in the small details—the tiny chairs and desks, the colorful alphabet letters lining the walls, the cubbies where each child’s belongings would be stored. It was a new world, one that Naomi would navigate without him by her side every day. And as he listened to her chatter excitedly about the books in the reading corner and the art supplies on the shelves, he couldn’t help but notice that she called him "Dad" instead of "Pa."
It was a small change, one that had crept up on him without notice, but it hit him with a surprising pang of sadness. The cowboy phase had faded away, along with the endearing nickname she’d used so proudly. Spencer knew that these things came and went, part of the natural process of growing up, but it still felt like a loss. He cherished every phase, every quirk and habit that made Naomi who she was, and the thought of her leaving any part of that behind was bittersweet.
The first day of school arrived quickly, and Spencer found himself lingering a little longer than necessary as he dropped Naomi off. She was eager to join her classmates, her backpack bouncing as she ran towards the playground, but she still turned back to give him one last wave before disappearing into the crowd. Spencer stood there for a moment, feeling the weight of the moment. His little girl was no longer so little, and the world she was stepping into was one she would increasingly navigate on her own.
As the months passed, Naomi adjusted to school life with ease. She made friends quickly, her outgoing nature and bright smile winning over her classmates and teachers alike. Spencer would often hear her animated retellings of the day’s events over dinner, her enthusiasm infectious. And while he missed the days when she would curl up in his lap with a storybook, he couldn’t deny how proud he was of the person she was becoming.
Then came the day that would mark the beginning of a new chapter in Naomi’s life—her introduction to swimming. It all started when she was invited to a birthday party at the local community pool. The day had been a whirlwind of laughter and splashing, and Naomi had taken to the water like she was born for it. Spencer watched from the sidelines, his heart swelling with pride as she fearlessly dove under the water, her small form cutting through the waves with surprising agility.
That evening, as they drove home, Naomi’s excitement was palpable. “Dad,” she had said, her voice full of determination, “I want to join a swim team.”
Spencer had looked at her, surprised by the sudden request, but he could see the seriousness in her eyes. This wasn’t just a fleeting interest—Naomi was genuinely passionate about swimming. He thought back to his own childhood, remembering the importance of having something to be passionate about, something that gave you a sense of purpose. How could he say no?
And so, at the age of seven, Naomi joined the local swim team. From that moment on, Spencer’s schedule became filled with early morning practices and weekend meets. He became well-acquainted with the smell of chlorine and the sound of splashing water echoing off the walls of the pool. Every practice, he was there, driving her to and from the pool, cheering her on from the bleachers.
The first time Naomi competed in a swim meet, Spencer almost didn’t make it in time. He had been caught up at work, the clock ticking down faster than he anticipated. By the time he arrived, the meet had already begun, and his heart sank as he imagined Naomi searching for him in the crowd, only to find an empty spot where he should have been.
But as he burst through the doors and ran to the pool, he caught sight of her just as she was about to dive in. He held his breath as she leaped into the water, her form sleek and determined. She moved with grace, her strokes powerful for someone so small. Spencer’s eyes followed her every move, his heart pounding with a mix of pride and regret.
When she finally surfaced at the end of her race, Spencer could see the moment her eyes scanned the crowd, searching for him. He felt a sharp pang of guilt as her expression faltered when she didn’t immediately spot him. But then, their eyes met, and her face lit up with relief. He stood there, waving frantically, and as she climbed out of the pool, he rushed to her side, pulling her into a proud hug despite her protests about being soaked.
“I don’t care,” he had said, his voice full of love and pride. “You were amazing.”
And she was. Spencer couldn’t have been prouder of his daughter. From cowboy-themed birthday parties to school achievements, and now to swimming competitions, Naomi was growing up in front of his eyes, becoming someone strong, passionate, and resilient. Watching her interact with Henry and Jack, hiding her Uno cards with a mischievous grin, Spencer couldn’t help but feel a swell of pride—and, yes, a little bit of ego—as he realized that he was doing something right. Naomi was turning into a remarkable young person, and he was there, every step of the way, watching her become the best version of herself.
Spencer knew most of this was because of his village. His friends picked up his reports so he could make it swim meets and parent teacher conferences. JJ had been there from the very beginning, guiding Spencer through the early years with the wisdom that only a mother could provide. She was always ready with advice, whether it was about choosing the right preschool or dealing with the sleepless nights that came with teething. Naomi adored JJ, often referring to her as "Aunt JJ" with a smile that mirrored JJ's own. JJ was the one who introduced Naomi to the joys of baking, spending countless afternoons in Spencer's kitchen, teaching her how to measure flour and crack eggs. Spencer would often return from work to find the two of them covered in flour, with a batch of cookies cooling on the counter and Naomi proudly holding up her latest creation for him to taste.
Emily was the cool, adventurous aunt who always seemed to know exactly what Naomi needed. When Naomi went through a phase of feeling out of place at school, it was Emily who took her on "girls' days out," reminding her of her own strength and uniqueness. Emily encouraged Naomi to embrace her individuality, whether it was through trying new sports, like fencing or rock climbing, or simply teaching her to stand up for herself when she felt unsure. Spencer admired how Emily could always bring a sense of adventure and confidence into Naomi's life, helping her see the world as a place full of possibilities.
Penelope Garcia, with her vibrant personality and endless creativity, was a beacon of light in Naomi's life. She introduced Naomi to the world of arts and crafts, helping her channel her emotions into colorful creations that filled their home. Penelope's office at the BAU became a second home for Naomi, a place where she could express herself freely with paints, markers, and glitter. It was Penelope who designed the invitations for Naomi's birthday parties, complete with animated animals and vibrant fonts that perfectly captured the joy of childhood. Spencer knew that Penelope’s influence had nurtured Naomi’s creative spirit, and he was grateful for the countless hours she spent fostering that side of his daughter.
Derek Morgan was the one who taught Naomi about physical strength and perseverance. He would often take her to the park, where they would spend hours playing games that involved running, climbing, and testing her physical limits. Derek also had a way of making Naomi laugh, often lifting her spirits when she was feeling down. He was the one who encouraged her to join the swim team, telling her that with hard work and determination, she could achieve anything. Spencer knew that Derek was teaching Naomi the importance of resilience and that she was learning valuable life lessons from him.
Rossi was the wise, grandfatherly figure in Naomi’s life. He offered Spencer guidance on parenting with a gentle hand, sharing stories from his own experiences as a father and grandfather. Rossi's home became a place of comfort for Naomi, where she could enjoy a meal with "Uncle Dave" and listen to his stories about Italy, family, and life. Rossi also instilled in Naomi a love for history and culture, often taking her to museums and introducing her to books that expanded her understanding of the world. Spencer appreciated how Rossi provided Naomi with a sense of stability and tradition, enriching her life with experiences that she would carry with her forever.
And then there was Hotch, whose quiet strength and unwavering support made him a rock in Spencer’s life. Hotch understood the challenges of balancing work and fatherhood better than anyone, having been a single father himself. He was always there to offer Spencer advice on how to manage the demands of both roles, and he never hesitated to adjust Spencer's work schedule when Naomi needed him. Hotch also had a special bond with Naomi, often spending time with her while Spencer was in the field. Naomi looked up to Hotch, admiring his calm demeanor and strong sense of justice. Spencer knew that Hotch was helping to shape Naomi’s understanding of right and wrong, and he was grateful for the moral compass that Hotch provided.
Together, this village of team members helped Spencer raise Naomi, each contributing in their own unique way to her growth and development. They were there for the big moments, like her first day of school and her swim meets, and the small ones, like helping her with homework or cheering her up after a tough day. They shared in the joys and challenges of parenthood, making sure that neither Spencer nor Naomi ever felt alone.
As Naomi grew older, Spencer began to notice the subtle and not-so-subtle physical changes that marked her transition from a little girl into a young woman. It was a bittersweet realization for him, watching her grow up so quickly, but it also filled him with pride.
One of the first things Spencer noticed was how tall Naomi was becoming. It seemed like every few months she would shoot up another inch, her legs growing longer and her posture more confident. By the time she was seven or eight, it was clear that she would be tall, likely taking after him in that regard. Spencer often found himself marveling at how she had gone from the tiny toddler who used to cling to his leg to a tall, graceful girl who moved with a natural ease.
Swimming played a significant role in Naomi's physical development. The hours she spent in the pool, practicing her strokes and building her endurance, began to shape her body in ways that were both powerful and beautiful. Spencer could see the definition in her shoulders and arms, the way her muscles had grown strong and lean from the rigorous training. Her core became more toned, and her legs—already long—grew stronger, propelling her through the water with increasing speed and agility.
He also noticed how swimming affected Naomi’s eating habits. With guidance from Derek, who was no stranger to maintaining a healthy physique, and JJ, who was always mindful of nutrition, Spencer made sure that Naomi was eating well to support her growing body. They emphasized the importance of balanced meals, rich in the nutrients that would fuel her swimming and her everyday activities. Spencer took to packing her lunches with care, including a variety of fruits, vegetables, and proteins that would give her the energy she needed. He even started cooking more at home, experimenting with new recipes that were both healthy and delicious, making mealtime something they could both enjoy.
Despite these changes, there were aspects of Naomi that remained constant, like her dark hair. It was still the same deep shade, a trait she had inherited from her mother, and Spencer often found himself running his fingers through it as he used to when she was a baby. Sometimes, when Naomi was lost in thought or concentrating on something, she would make a particular expression that looked so much like her mother that it would catch Spencer off guard. It was in the way her brows furrowed slightly, or the way her lips pressed together in a small, determined line. These moments were both a comfort and a reminder of the woman they had lost, and they often made Spencer pause, his heart tugging at the memory.
As Naomi grew older, questions about her mother became more frequent, surfacing at different stages of her young life. They were questions Spencer knew would come eventually, but each time they did, they still felt like a punch to the gut.
One of the first instances occurred when Naomi was in kindergarten. It was an innocent enough setting, the children were playing during free time, and Spencer had been hopeful that Naomi would have a good day. But when she came home that afternoon, there was a noticeable shift in her mood. She was quieter than usual, her usual bubbly chatter absent as she trudged through the front door. Spencer had tried to get her to talk, but she had simply shrugged and retreated to her room.
Later that evening, after some gentle coaxing, Naomi finally admitted what had happened. One of the other kids had asked her if she was an orphan, a term Naomi had only heard in passing from a movie. The word had felt heavy on her small shoulders, and even though she didn’t fully understand its meaning, she knew it was something negative. Spencer had reassured her that she wasn’t an orphan, that she had him, and he would always be there for her. But the incident left a lingering sadness in Naomi, and it planted a seed of curiosity about the mother she had never known.
As she progressed through elementary school, the questions became more pointed. By the time she reached third grade, Naomi had developed a deeper understanding of the concept of family. She knew that most of her friends had both a mom and a dad, and she couldn’t help but notice the absence of a mother in her own life. Occasionally, she would ask Spencer about her mom, her questions tentative, as if she wasn’t sure she wanted to hear the answers. Spencer would always do his best to explain that her mother had loved her very much, but it was complicated, and it took a lot to be a mom. Naomi would usually accept his answers, though sometimes with a lingering sadness that broke his heart.
The situation came to a head one year in the third grade, just after Mother’s Day. Naomi had been excited to give Spencer the little craft she’d made at school—a hand-drawn card and a macaroni necklace. But the day after Mother’s Day was the annual Mother’s Day lunch at her school, a tradition where each child would invite their mother to share a special meal with them in the cafeteria. It was a celebration that most of the kids looked forward to, but for Naomi, it was a source of dread.
That morning, Naomi had woken up in a foul mood. She was sullen during breakfast, picking at her cereal, and when Spencer gently reminded her to get ready for school, she exploded in a rare tantrum. She screamed and cried, demanding to stay home, insisting that she didn’t want to go to school that day. Spencer was taken aback by the intensity of her reaction, and after a few minutes of trying to calm her down, Naomi finally revealed the reason for her distress.
“I don’t want to go because there’s a blank space next to my name!” she had cried, her small hands balled into fists. “All the other kids have their mom’s name, but mine is empty! I don’t want to go! Everyone’s going to see it!”
Spencer’s heart broke as he realized what Naomi was going through. He had known about the Mother’s Day lunch, of course, but it hadn’t occurred to him how it would affect Naomi so deeply. The thought of his little girl sitting alone in a room full of kids and their moms, with a blank space next to her name, was almost too much to bear.
In that moment, Spencer wanted nothing more than to protect Naomi from the pain she was feeling. He knelt down beside her, pulling her into a tight hug as she sobbed into his shoulder. He assured her that it was okay to feel sad and that she didn’t have to go if she didn’t want to. Naomi had eventually calmed down, but the hurt lingered in her eyes.
That day, Spencer kept Naomi home from school. They spent the day together, taking a walk through the park and getting ice cream, but the shadow of the blank space next to her name hung over them both. Spencer wished he could erase that hurt from Naomi’s life, but he knew that it was something she would have to face as she grew older. It was a painful reminder of the complexities of their situation, and it left him feeling helpless in a way he hadn’t experienced since becoming a father.
As Naomi grew and continued to navigate life without a mother, Spencer did his best to fill the void. He knew he could never be both parents, but he tried to make sure Naomi always felt loved, supported, and cherished. Yet, despite his best efforts, there were times when he felt like he was failing her. Seeing her struggle with questions about her mother, watching her face the reality of that blank space beside her name, made Spencer acutely aware of the challenges that lay ahead.
The transition into middle school was a milestone that loomed large for Naomi. As summer gave way to the crisp air of September, Spencer and Naomi embarked on their annual back-to-school shopping trip. In previous years, Spencer had managed the supplies with little fuss—choosing notebooks, pencils, and backpacks with the efficiency of a seasoned pro. But this year was different. Naomi was entering middle school, a new chapter marked by a burgeoning sense of independence and a desire for self-expression.
The school supplies aisle was a labyrinth of choices and colors. Naomi wandered through it with a thoughtful frown, carefully selecting folders in her favorite shades and perusing the myriad options for notebooks. Spencer watched her with a mix of admiration and impatience. The aisles seemed endless, and every item she picked up was scrutinized with the seriousness of a major life decision. Spencer tried to be patient, but his boredom mounted as Naomi took hours to pick out the perfect supplies. Every decision was weighed and reconsidered, from the design of her binder to the type of markers she wanted.
He could see that Naomi was in the midst of a transition, trying to define her own style and make choices that reflected her growing identity. He understood the importance of this, even if it tested his patience. After all, the supplies she chose weren’t just tools for learning—they were symbols of her new independence.
On the first day of school, Naomi was both excited and nervous. She had spent weeks preparing, picking out her clothes with care, and organizing her backpack. Spencer had hoped for a smooth morning, but as they got ready to leave, the clock seemed to tick away faster than usual. They were engrossed in the last-minute preparations, and time slipped away. Naomi’s nerves heightened as they realized they were running late.
Spencer hurriedly dropped her off at the school entrance, offering quick reassurances as he pulled away. He watched her run up the steps, her backpack bouncing with each hurried step. He wished her well and hoped that she would find her footing in this new environment.
The day started off well enough for Naomi. She navigated the new environment, meeting her teachers and finding her way to her classes with a mix of eagerness and trepidation. The initial excitement, however, was tempered by the realization of how much she missed about her previous school. It was a fresh start, but it came with its own set of challenges.
By fourth period, Naomi was feeling confident. She had settled into her routine and was starting to feel comfortable with her new surroundings. That was until she realized that she had forgotten her colored pencils. She had intended to use them for her art class, a subject she had always enjoyed. Panic set in as she remembered that the art teacher would be expecting the supplies.
Deciding to make a quick stop at her locker, Naomi found herself facing a new problem—the locker was jammed. She tugged and twisted the combination dial, but it wouldn’t budge. Frustration began to bubble up, and she felt the sting of tears at the corners of her eyes. She didn’t want to be late for class, and the last thing she wanted was to be unprepared.
Just then, a girl with a friendly smile approached. Her name was Hannah, and she had been watching Naomi struggle with the locker. “Need some help?” she offered, her tone warm and sincere.
Naomi looked up, relief washing over her. “Yes, please. I can’t seem to get it open.”
Hannah nodded and expertly worked on the locker’s combination. “I’m Hannah, by the way. I think I saw you in a few of my classes today.”
Naomi introduced herself, and within a few moments, Hannah had managed to open the locker. Naomi’s colored pencils were still inside, and she quickly grabbed them. “Thanks so much,” Naomi said, feeling a bit more at ease.
“No problem at all,” Hannah replied.
As Naomi’s twelfth birthday approached, Spencer had hoped to make it special despite the complications of his demanding job. Unfortunately, the day of her actual birthday coincided with a case for the BAU, and Spencer found himself miles away from home, chasing down leads and solving crimes. It was a bittersweet day for him—proud of the work he was doing but longing to be there for Naomi’s special day.
In a gesture that spoke volumes about how much they cared, the team decided to surprise Naomi with a belated birthday dinner once they returned. They managed to pull off the surprise with a mix of stealth and careful planning. The team, along with Spencer, orchestrated a dinner party at a local restaurant. They decorated with balloons and streamers, and Spencer even managed to get Naomi’s favorite cake, a chocolate creation with a bright pink frosting.
When Spencer and the team arrived at the restaurant, Naomi was already there, her excitement palpable despite the disappointment of not having her birthday on the actual day. Her eyes lit up as she saw the surprise party, and her smile was a radiant testament to her happiness.
As they settled into their seats, Naomi turned to Spencer with a thoughtful expression. “Dad, can I invite Hannah to the party?” she asked, a hint of nervousness in her voice.
Spencer was taken aback but quickly smiled. He had noticed a different air about Naomi lately—more self-assured, more comfortable in her own skin. It was clear that Hannah had become an important part of her life, and he was happy to see her forming such meaningful friendships. “Of course,” he said warmly. “I’ll give her a call and make sure she can come.”
Hannah arrived shortly thereafter, her presence a welcome addition to the celebration. Naomi’s face lit up even more as she introduced her friend to the team. Throughout the evening, Naomi was a picture of grace and confidence. She ordered for herself with a sense of maturity, hugged each person in attendance, and thanked them for coming with a heartfelt sincerity that touched everyone present.
The dinner was filled with laughter and joy as Spencer and his colleagues celebrated Naomi’s milestone. The team, now her extended family, couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride and affection for her. As the night drew to a close, Spencer drove Hannah home, taking a moment to reflect on how much Naomi had grown.
When he returned home, he found Naomi waiting in her pajamas, her face glowing with contentment. She had stayed up just for him, a gesture that tugged at his heart. Spencer could see the remnants of the birthday celebration in her eyes—the sparkle of joy, the satisfaction of a day well spent.
Before heading to bed, Naomi quietly knocked on Spencer’s bedroom door and peered in. “Is everything okay?” Spencer asked, noticing the slight hesitation in her stance.
Naomi simply shook her head and moved towards him. “I just… want a hug,” she said softly.
Spencer opened his arms, and Naomi climbed into his lap, wrapping her arms around him. He held her close, feeling the warmth of her small frame against his chest. As they sat there together, he could sense the depth of her emotions—happiness, gratitude, and a quiet, underlying comfort that he had always strived to provide.
In that moment, Spencer knew that despite the challenges, the moments of doubt, and the relentless demands of his job, he had succeeded in creating a loving and supportive environment for Naomi. She was growing up, changing, and becoming her own person, but she still found solace in the simple act of being held close by her father.

Ninjago Fic Rec Week (2024): Day 4
Prompts: AU/Movieverse/OCs! (Catching Up! I uh skipped Day 3 oop but I've got plenty to offer for this day! Which is...also late...don't look at meeee)
Aus WITH OCs (or as I like to call this list, my own personal indulgence corner. All the AUs/Movieverse stories I've read are ones that get recc'ed a lot already + I myself have already recc'ed them at one point or another, soooo let's throw some pure spotlight onto some OC stories! Even if a lot of it is connected to me to some degree that's irrelevant):
As The Years Pass By: A fic currently in the process of being rewritten/reworked but still chock full of next-gen Dragons Rising goodness! And it stars the one, the only, Jenna and Ethan from @rainofthetwilight!!!! This fic made me fall in love with her characters and I've loved reading/seeing/drawing these two adorable kids ever since!!!!
Dad!Jay AU by @taddymason: An AU so good I'm still catching up on reading it bit by bit to savor it for longer *-*)9 All the stories in this series are worth the read alone for the accumulation of taddy's character Kaida (a girl who needs no introduction–she's that awesome guys, trust me) but also the eventual father-daughter bond with amnesiac!Jay that is gripping and engaging aaaaall the wall through!!
I Carve This Poem From the Harshest of Storms: Another I'm not caught up with YET (a running theme for this Fic Week, it seems hgfhgfdfgds i'm sorry I'm slow and have a short-attention span). It follow two fascinating peeps in The Administration following The Merge, and without giving too much away, @theartsyswissapple ‘s voices for the characters just POP and make them feel SO real and it's been intriguing to read so far so yeah others should give it a try too!!!
What it Takes for You to See Me: A Spinjitzu bros story with added FSM and Mystake goodness too!!! This is one I've just started reading myself, but you know I love some throwbacks to Wu and Garmadon's past! And the OC here, @marhan-writes-n-draws's Amka, fits into the setting like a glove!!
Honeycomb: Gotta give a shoutout to @miqotepotatoe's Lucy while I'm here too!! Some short, sweet snippets of the Ninja Team's best (and most yellow) cheerleader!! I love her dynamic with everyone, and especially Cole <3
The Space Between Us: A very deep and heart-wrenching introspective into @k1ngtok's characters Lynda and Jamie, Master(s) of Space. It's story about siblings and bonds at its core, but also be mindful of tag of you're looking to dig deeper! (it also takes place in legacyverse technically but that's neither here or there I promise)
Flowery Language Another super funny and endearing story by King following Jesse (hey it's my boy!!) and Antonia on the case to discover who's been leaving flowers in Jesse's locker (spoiler: it's not Cole lmao). It's actually a semi-sequel to this old thing *I* wrote however long ago, but thaaaat's not required reading (though it does help). If you want more of a fix for the Jesse-Antonia duo + more of Jamie, this is the story to read!
Learning to Love (Again): Yet another King fic based in legacyverse (a coincidence), this one kiiiind of takes place during Season 2/Book 3 and follows Jamie on his quest to truly show his friends (Nya, Antonia, Harumi, Jesse, and...Olivia?!) just how much he cares about them through the power of love languages over the course of a week and it is AWESOOOOOOOOME!! Soooo many touching and feel-good moments, mostly soft slice-of-life with teenagers being teenagers, and is a great pick-me up when your soul is feeling sad ;w;)/ I advocate for this one just for the warm soft friendshippy-feelings it gives me alone!!! AAAAAA—
Something About Morning Glories: Jesse (oop there he is again) takes it upon to himself to comfort Jay after the latter finds himself concerned about something following obtaining his True Potential. A duo I desperately want to write more about but can't yet, so this little bit of foundation for their relationship will have to suffice for now ;w;)/
(and if you're still clamoring for more of a certain magic pink fool, there's plenty more where that came from; perhaps there may be a Jesse-Antonia friendship origin story on deck soon, along with maybe some DR stuff~! ...listen there will never be a good chance to self-advertise like this again!! BE YOUR BIGGEST FAN!!! SELF-LOVE BABY!!!! *-*)9 )
In the Company of the Stars: A tale as old as time—a Royal!AU where the fair groundskeeper of a palace's garden (that's the OC) falls head over heels for the prince far out of his league (that's Cole)—except, the prince absolutely likes him back...albeit only as his secret, suave alter-ego. But is that really true—and, more importantly, is there bigger problems to deal with right now???? There's romance, mystery, good food, royal drama, angst, fluff, sabotage, magic, a whole bunch of flowers, Harumi causing chaos on purpose, Skylor throws Chad across a room, Jay goes on a rampage a some point, Kai can't flirt to save his life—the author just needs some fresh motivation to post the darn next chapter already because the ending's gonna be really really good ;V
#there is. at least one more. really obvious one i'm missing.#and when i remember what it was im going to cRY#i literally sat up in bed to slap it on here and it IMMEDIATELY LEFT MY BRAIN#oh well that's what edits are for#ninjago ocs#ninjago fic rec week#ninjago fanfiction#fic recs

JULIA ✮ RELATIONSHIPS ?!
! CHAN . . . CHANLIA / 2LETTE
her contact name : juju 🩷
his contact name : channie 🤍
her father omg. the moment he saw 10-year-old julia in a training room was the moment he knew he had to protect her. julia had just come from australia at that time and having chan, someone who could understand exactly how she was struggling as a foreigner, really helped her in the long run. chan would always be with the girl, to the point where he was helping her get ready for school in the morning and even pick her up in the afternoon. julia relies on chan a lot for a variety of things; whether it be helping her create a song to taste-testing her food to make sure it's perfect. chan can basically read the girl like an open book. he can tell when she isn't feeling well or when she's really excited to do something, even before she can at times. don't get me wrong, julia does mess with chan a lot, but behind those teasing words and smirk, she knows she has someone who will always care for her, at her highest of highs and lowest of lows.
viral moments : julia feeling sick during a tour stop & chan giving her one GLANCE and immediately rushing over and asking if she's alright // chan moving over to let julia pick something out in a game first // chan sitting next to her while they were eating on a vlive & when she was talking, randomly patting her head
'2lette' came from fans. more of an inside joke; chan's shaving brand is gillette and julia says she'd use that brand if she ever had to
? LEE KNOW . . . JUHO / PABOZ
her contact name : child ☝
his contact name : lee knows nothing 🤓
she was so scared of him when they first met. like he just. looked scary. she got to know him a lot better over the time they spent preparing for debut and they became extremely close. julia looks up to him a lot, and similar to chan, she's like his daughter. they bond over their skill in dance— it was what brought them together in the first place. she also trusts his judgement; whenever julia feels like she needs guidance or another opinion on something she'll go to minho and ask for his perspective. he's the one who can talk her into doing things and it literally always works; usually whenever she's sick he and chan team up to get her to lay down. lee know is like julia's mother and chan's the father !!! he does spend a lot of time teasing her though. over her height, her saying something funnily, her tripping, etc. everything she does is funny to him ? but its okay, it's all in love ofc !!
viral moments : in skz code 08, julia holding onto minho the entire time they were on the mission (poor minho .. two scaredy cats at his side) // julia being frustrated over not wanting to do something, minho stopping her to try and persuade her & julia immediately agreeing after // minho saving a take-out box of food he didn't like knowing julia would probably eat it
'paboz' came from the members in an early skz code ep
! CHANGBIN . . . BINLIA / SYOTDARIZ
her contact name : lee money
his contact name : gym rat 🌵
MY SUNSHINE AND SUNSHINE PROTECTOR DUO I CANNOT. whenever she's running around playing with one of the boys or just by herself he'll be like standing in the back with the most proud smile ever. they enjoy teasing each other, and will take up any opportunity possible to; at restaurants, during filming, etc. when changbin's on "watch the maknaes" duty and sees julia about to do something he's run towards her, pull her away, smack her head, and then go back to what he was doing before.. it's happened on camera too many times. he also helps julia during song recording because she tends to mess up or misread certain korean bits. her #1 fanboy !! whenever she has an idea for a song he'll just sit and listen attentively and even help her tweak the lyrics. changbin tries his best to understand julia's struggle as the only girl and just wants the best for her in the long run
viral moments : julia on a vlive gushing over how much changbin's helped her improve her korean over the years // changbin being so patient with julia while trying to teach her how to do something // binlia seeing each other for the first time after months and hugging so tightly
syotdari / 숏다리 = short legs, they're the shortest two in the group
? HYUNJIN . . . JUJIN / BATTERIES
her contact name : llama?
his contact name : samsamsam 😯
two human batteries that never die out. julia highly influences hyunjin into doing silly shit, like pranking the members, teasing them, just causing chaos anywhere and everywhere.. it's a little crazy. they're both extroverts when together, minho and chan see them fooling around in their nightmares i swear. back to the calmer side; they love to draw and paint together. julia has a lot of the paintings they've made together hung up in her room. hyunjin was the one to talk her through panic attacks (and still is!!) when they were frequent and that was one of the only times they would actually be quiet together. whenever julia feels like she needs to take a break or just have time to breathe while on stage, hyunjin would immediately be at her side making sure she's alright. hyunjin's probably the one who talks her into doing things that she probably shouldn't be doing in newer places. they also go live together so often, and half of those lives are just filled with them dancing or teasing each other.
viral moments : on a tour stop, hyunjin running around with julia on his back // yet another tour video, julia stepping off to the side breathing heavily & hyunjin immediately going over and passing her a water bottle // on a v-live hyunjin & julia painting together, julia showing hyunjin her canvas and him cooing and saying it looks great
'batteries' comes from the two being known as human batteries when together.
! HAN . . . LIASUNG / NINIZ
her contact name : 땅콩 [ peanut ]
his contact name : my hannie 🤍
you thought jujin was bad? these two are worse. they'll take any possible opportunity to argue with each other. most times it's just to mess with the older members, but they do enjoy teasing each other. in fact, you can usually tell something's up with one or the other when they go more than an hour without saying some kind of belittling comment to eo. however, despite all of this, they're insanely close. whenever another one of the hyungs isn't there to help, they'll usually go to eo during panic attacks. they also share the same fear of heights; when skz has to do something that's relatively high up, liasung will be clinging to eo for dear life. they're like the twins of skz—both the fans and the boys themselves call the pair that. they're always together; on stage, at the dorms, even in variety shows or random vlogs. so many random 1 am bubble updates from them going on late-night walks or convenience store runs.
viral moments : them teasing eo and then 5 seconds later going "i love you~ every second // liasung absolutely dominating in a game of bowling on a show // during a fansign, julia stealing han's hat and after trying to get it back a bunch of times, he just lets her have it
'niniz' came out of nowhere. a member used it to refer to the pair and it just stuck.
? FELIX . . . LIXIA / SUNSHINEZ
her contact name : tiny lee 🌟
his contact name : bokkie 🌞
MY SUNSHINE BABIESSS !!!! the two that will make you smile the moment you see them together. they love eo so much it's just so fluffy and sweet. felix is another member you'll always see julia with because they love to be around each other. julia even admitted she spends more time in jeongin's / felix's rooms because they're so comfortable with eo. julia and felix always talk in english to each other out of habit; when they met, they immediately started to converse in english rather than korean. julia's the person who influences felix to take up his interests, like baking for example! julia also has a lot of matching items with felix, whether it be clothes, jewelry, even phone charms or cases. they both just have so much love to give and it's so evident in the way they treat each other and the members. these two have so many concert / fansign videos of them just hugging or playing with eo; felix likes to let julia play around as much as possible since she's been a trainee since she was a kid and didn't really have a childhood.
viral moments : felix and julia going into a haunted house together and not coming out for another 45 minutes // julia facetiming felix in the middle of his live // felix posting a video on bubble of julia just sitting on their counter eating leftover cookie dough mix
'sunshinez' comes from them being known as the sunshine duo.
! SEUNGMIN . . . JUMIN / STYLISTS
her contact name : tiger 🐯
his contact name : minnie mouse
julia see julia do with seungmin istg. so many clips of him randomly doing something and julia immediately copying him. he's like a little devil on her shoulder. seungmin's fooling around? oh, julia's probably with him. they're always teaming up to tease the members at any given chance, basically chan & minho's worst nightmare. seungmin knows how to get under her skin, and vice versa. they enjoy styling the members together and have been appointed at the two stylists of skz. two people who enjoy showing their affection through big small actions rather than words, which is why they're so close. seungmin's helped her perfect her vocal abilities over the years, and when she got moved to vocalracha, he was the most excited because they'd get to work together more often. when julia falls asleep backstage, she's usually laying on seungmin's shoulder or seungmin's going over and laying a blanket on her or fixing her hair / posture.
viral moments : in the xmas skz code, seungmin randomly flying a paper airplane and julia doing the same soon after // seungmin uploading pics of julia sleeping on him while he's just doing a peace sign // seungmin & julia being on a team tgt and not being able to finish their mission bcz they spent the entire time messing around
'stylists' comes from the two being known as skz's stylists
? I.N . . . INLIA / TWIN FLAMES
her contact name : nyangie 🐱
his contact name : INNIEEEEEEEEE 🩵
MY POOKIES HELLO. the twin flames of skz. julia's like jeongin's little sister please. they've been close ever since the survival show, like their friendship is natural. julia spends so much time with jeongin, more than any other member. they're extremely clingy with each other, like two little kids. they show their love for each other by being clingy & constantly playing around with eo. constant stealing from eo; jeongin could have a sweatshirt one day and the next, it'll be gone & vice versa. they're each other's hype person!! julia enjoys cheering him on in an annoying voice just to mess with him. no doubt the closest duo of stray kids, literally nothing could come between them. another member she has a lot of matching items with. the main reason julia spends a lot of time with him / in his room is because they're always assigned to be together anyway; hotel roommates, game partners, even being sent away by the members to go fetch something from the shops. if one's smiling and laughing, the other is too. jeongin always serves her first, and even hand feeds her food if she asks him. also!! they're so attentive to each other. never a moment were they aren't listening to eo so well and lovingly I CANT.
viral moments : mt skz code, they were in the pool and just started to try and drown eo ?? (affectionate) // in a fansign, jeongin received two animal headbands, so he reached over to put one on julia's head // julia and jeongin in the background of a member's vlog trying to fight ?? hug ?? they were doing something.
'twin flames' comes from them being known as the twin flames / platonic soulmates of skz.
xia's message . . . this took .. so long .. taglist . . . open!

WIP
War & Peace and the Redemption of Bucky Barnes (Rated: E, Current Words: 25K) by ThePirateStorm / @fsbc-librarian
Summary: Bucky Barnes is running from his problems. He's housesitting for his best friend while she's on her honeymoon - the almost a year prior that he's been staying in her house doesn't count - when he's woken in the middle of the night by an angel and a demon. Okay, maybe they're not a literal angel and demon, but Steve Rogers *looks* like an angel, and his daughter Charli certainly *acts* like a demon. The father/daughter duo are running from their own problems, but that doesn't mean that they can't crash headlong into one another's lives. Throw in a cursed book for good measure, and it's about to get a whole lot more interesting.

TF2 OC Infodump... About this silly guy
Minion's relationships with the mercs
Engineer - Engie is like one of the only people that can understand him (literally not emotionally) because of his thick ass accent. Minion likes to talk to him. Minion yaps to him a LOT, about almost everything.
Medic - Minion WILL find any way possible to be the one to deliver Medics orders personally. He also likes to include extra organs in almost every shipment. Minion makes his feelings towards Medic very obvious, but Medic continues to play dumb to keep getting those extra organs. Minions bird is the cause of at least 3 archimedes going missing.
Spy - Spy has photo evidence of Minion doing weird shit (staring at medics ass or smth idk). Minion is VERY aware of this and gets very nervous when hes doing anything at all because hes afraid that Spy is taking a picture of him.
Soldier - Soldier is one of Minion's best friends, but Minion is scared that Soldier will grab him. Because he did, once. Minion got accused of not being faithful to America.
Sniper - Minion thinks he's weird because of the jarate thing. Hes scared that Sniper will throw jarate at him. Theyre probably buddies though, because they are both from places that have like weird animals, and they'd probably talk about that.
Scout - Theyre probably buddies because they both are falling for someone who barely likes them back. They encourage eachother. They're also relatively around the same age.
Demoman - Demoman is one of Minion's best friends along with Soldier. They'd also be drinking buddies, maybe not too often but they would. Minion gets really emotional when hes drunk, so he'd probably overshare to Demoman.
Heavy- I think theyre only acquaintances because they both cant quite understand each other (considering they both dont speak fluent english, and their native languages are different) BUT i think if they ever hung out they would cook for each other / bond over food.
Pyro - He probably hangs out a lot with Pyro because of Louise, he draws with Pyro when hanging out with them and Louise.
Bonus: Miss Pauling - I think he respects her a lot as a person and thinks she's cool. He probably tries to convince her just a little bit that scout is cool.
Louise - They are literally the father daughter duo EVER!! minion loves louise as a daughter so much and he cares so much he would take a bullet for her.
Eddy - Even though they might argue or have their differences sometimes, Eddy is always Minion's best friend. Minion truly appreciates Eddy and is grateful that Eddy is in his life.
Smissmass Presents
Spy - Lint, like he WRAPS IT to make it look like an extravagant cool gift but he actualy needle felted to lint to make it into a middle finger
Soldier - a tabo becuz he heard that soldier like bucket
Medic - he would buy him like 8 presents and make him custom advent calendar but its just pics of him and its the same picture each time for 12 days
Demoman - probably a nice bottle of wine or a case of his favorite alcohol
Scout - shitty art supplies because Scouf draws a lot, minion thinks those are the best art supplies in the world
Heavy - He would try to make a sandwich but with hawaiian rolls
Engineer - a book on how to learn tagalog

TO LOVE AND BELOVED - Part Five (Harry Styles)
a/n: ahh idk why but writing this part took me forever! but its finally here and i can’t wait to see your thoughts on it! i was debating for a long time if part 5 should be the last one, but then i decided to add another part, bc there are two more things i want to include in the story and i couldn’t squeeze them into this part, it’s already the longest so far, so we have one more part left of the story! also, a little warning that part 6 might take a little longer than the prev parts bc im a little behind with my schedule but it’ll try my best!
pairing: CEO!Dad!Harry X Reader
warning: mentions of death, cheating and divorce, sexual content
word count: 12k
SERIES MASTERPOST masterlist
You’ve been feeling like a teenager sneaking around her parents these past weeks. Only that you’re an adult and the parent you are trying to keep your secret romance hidden from is a four year old little girl.
Your birthday was a turning point in your evolving relationship with Harry. Like a wall has been brought down and he finally started reaching out to you. It feels like with every passing day you’re getting closer to him and you can see the progress he’s been making thanks to his therapy sessions and how much he is trying to make a change himself as well.
Stolen kisses and tiny touches have been a usual in your every days whenever Izzy was out of sight for the shortest second. You’ve realized that Harry is an affectionate person, he likes to keep you close and he never fails to bring passion into the tiniest kisses.
With Izzy around 24/7 it’s been hard to find time when it’s just the two of you, but you’ve been waking up early in the morning just to spend that twenty minutes alone with Harry while he drinks his coffee. Sometimes you just sit in silence, trying to wake up for the day ahead of you but sometimes he talks your ears off about anything and everything. In the evening, when Izzy is already sleeping the two of you usually wind off together in the living room or watch a movie in the entertainment room, just enjoying some alone time. It’s not much, but more than nothing and you’ve grown very fond of these little moments with him.
Nothing more has happened than just kissing. Despite the progress Harry has made so far you can tell he still has quite a few conflicts buried deep inside him and you definitely don’t want to rush him into anything he is not ready for. Some cuddling on the couch or short but passionate make out sessions in a corner while Izzy is not paying attention, you haven’t gone further than this.
Now it’s the last day before Izzy leaves to Harry’s mum for the week. He is dropping her off Sunday afternoon and it will leave the two of you alone for seven full days. Well, Harry still has to work during the day, but from the moment he’ll get home, it’s just gonna be you and him.
You had to make a few phone calls so you’ve been locked in your room for a while now. When you come down you find your favorite father-daughter duo on the couch, some kind of Barbie movie playing on the TV, but Izzy is busy with something else. She’s got her water based flooring pens scattered around her, Harry’s tattooed arm laying across her lap as she is coloring the patterns as if it was her favorite coloring book. Before they could notice you, you run back to your room and grab your polaroid camera and returning you snap a picture of the adorable scene. The shutter of the camera makes Harry’s head snap in your way, a smile tugging on his lips.
“Hey,” he softly greets you. You put the camera and the photo aside to the cupboard near you before joining them on the couch.
“Hi Y/N! Look!” Izzy beams happily, pointing at Harry’s ship tattoo that is now fully colored with yellows, pinks and blues.
“It looks better this way,” you smirk down at her before your eyes meet with Harry’s over her head, smiling at you softly.
Making yourself comfortable next to them, you watch Izzy work on more of his tattoos and you find it such a heartwarming scene, you want to remember it forever. Harry Styles, such an influential, successful and serious businessman, sitting on the couch in his loungewear while his daughter is using his tattooed skin as her personal coloring book. He really is a wonderful human being and the best dad to his daughter.
“Y/N, do you have any tattoos?” Izzy asks, turning to you with curious eyes.
“I actually do,” you answer and you see Harry’s eyebrows shoot up in surprise.
“You really do?” he asks, his head resting on the back of the couch, turned to face you.
“Yeah,” you nod with a soft chuckle.
“Where?” Izzy asks perking up at the new information.
“Um, it’s right here,” you tell her pointing at the side of your hips, covered with your sweatpants.
“Can I color them?” she asks innocently, but Harry is quick to react.
“Izzy, you’re being a little too nosy,” he warns her as always, and she looks at you with a pouty look.
“It’s fine. Um, yeah, you can color it,” you nod.
Sliding lower on the couch you roll down the waistband of your pants until the tattoo is revealed on the side. You catch Harry’s eyes wander over the skin you are now showing and you can see a slight blush tinting his cheeks. He hasn’t seen this part of your body uncovered yet, he hasn’t even seen you in a bathing suit so far so it’s quite the new thing.
(reference for the tattoo)
The tattoo on your side is a simple yet meaningful one, dedicated to the special bond you and Trevor share. It’s a minimalistic yet beautiful piece of two koi fishes swimming in a circle, one is left blank as while the other one is black so their formation resembles the yin-yang symbol. You got it when you turned twenty, when Trevor was just in middle school, but he promised you he would get the same design when he turns eighteen that will happen in the fall.
“That looks beautiful,” Harry breathes out with a shy smile and you notice how he doesn’t ask about the meaning behind it. Not because he is not curious but because he is insanely respectful and he doesn’t want to ask something that’s too personal.
“Thanks,” you smile at him as Izzy grabs her pens and starts coloring the blank fish.
The rest of the day goes by uneventfully, Harry is clearly trying to spend as much time with Izzy as possible before her week with his mother, but you also notice that he seems to be keeping something away from you, like he is trying to bring up something but he is not entirely sure how to start the conversation.
It’s not until Izzy is put to bed that he joins you on the couch, turning to you with a serious expression on his handsome face.
“What’s up?” you ask with a soft chuckle.
“I was thinking…”
“I could see that,” you tease him, giving his knee a playful squeeze. “I’m listening.”
“Actually there are two things I wanted to talk to you about. I’m not sure which one to ask first.” He purses his lips before sighing and moving his eyes to meet your curious gaze. “So we’re gonna be alone for the next week.”
“Mhm.”
“And I thought that… if you want to, but we don’t have to, it was just an idea—so feel free to—“
“Harry,” you cut his stuttering off, moving closer with a reassuring smile. You caress the side of his face and you notice how you lean into your touch, breathing out through his nose. “Don’t be nervous, alright? Just tell me what’s been on your mind.”
“Would you go out on a date with me?” he then asks and it’s the purest thing you’ve ever seen and heard from him. The hopeful but still nervous look in his eyes makes him appear like a little boy who is asking out his first crush in middle school, afraid of rejection, when that’s the last thing he has to think about when it comes to you, but it’s still cute.
“I would love to,” you smile at him and leaning closer you peck his lips softly. “And what’s the other thing you wanted to ask?”
“Well, I’m driving Izzy over to my mum’s early in the morning and I’m staying for lunch and… if you don’t feel like it’s too much, you could… maybe come with us.”
“You want me to meet your mum?” you ask surprised.
“Well, she wants to meet you as well, but I want you to meet her, yes,” he admits with a nervous chuckle. “Gemma has told her about you and my sister likes to be nosy so she might have added a little spice into the story about us when nothing was really going on.”
“Oh my, what does she think?” you ask with wide eyes.
“Nothing bad, don’t worry,” he assures you quickly. “She just made it seem like we are… dating and all,” he adds with a nervous smile. “But I told her that it’s… I mean that we are not there… yet.”
“Oh, okay. Well, if you really want me there, I would love to go with you.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. Would love to meet your mum.”
“I was afraid you’d find it a little early for this,” he admits truthfully and you can see that rationality in his thought. “We haven’t really… discussed what we are and I didn’t want to put the pressure on you.”
“Well, do you want to talk about us?” you ask softly, giving him the chance to decline if he feels like the conversation might be a little too much for him.
“I do, but I’m not sure… what to say,” he hums, knitting his eyebrows together. Last time I had this talk I was in my early twenties and I don’t even know how to start,” he chuckles shaking his head.
“Okay, then let’s just agree on some things,” you suggest and he eyes you curiously. “Neither of us is seeing anyone else, right?”
“Is that even a question in my situation?” he snorts, making a joke out of his issues clearly and you’re happy he is able to take it so lighthearted.
“Just clearing the air,” you chuckle. “So we are…exclusive.”
“Seems like it,” he nods.
“And you just asked me out on a date,” you point another detail out.
“I did. And you said yes,” he smiles, an excited shine in his eyes glimmering through his green irises.
“Yeah. So we can say we are dating? Seeing each other?” Harry chews on the terms you offered, tastes them before nodding slowly.
“I guess we could say that.”
“Okay. So… that’s what we are,” you smile at him, giving his knee another squeeze. This time, his hand finds yours and he runs his thumb across your knuckles.
“I think… I’m okay with that,” he breathes out and though it’s seemingly such an insignificant thing, you know how huge steps he has just taken forward.
“I liked the blue one better. With the white sweater,” Heather hums, watching you through the video call. You have your phone propped up on your dresser as you’re trying to figure out what to wear today.
Though you seemed completely unbothered last night when Harry invited you along with them, but now you can feel the slight panic. It’s not even because you and Harry are a thing now, you’d feel this way if you met his mother just as Izzy’s nanny. Grandmothers can be so protective over their grandchildren, you’ve met with quite a few problematic ones while you were working at the daycare and you just want Anne to like you, to trust you with Izzy as much as Harry does.
“Okay, blue it is then,” you sigh, pulling the yellow sundress off of yourself before putting the blue one back with a white sweater.
“So you guys are now official?” Heather grins at you through the screen. “Meeting his mother and all that?”
“Define being official,” you chuckle softly.
“Like, boyfriend-girlfriend?”
“Not yet. But we agreed to be exclusively dating.”
“I still can’t fucking believe that you’re scoring the hottest dad I’ve ever seen. You lucky bitch,” she sighs, sipping on her morning coffee.
“Me neither,” you scoff.
“I’m pretty sure if the mothers who got you fired knew, they would explode. Basically every woman was in love with the man and now you are the lucky woman actually getting him.”
“I guess this is karma for what they did,” you chuckle shrugging. “Alright, I gotta go, because we are leaving soon, but I’ll talk to you soon.”
“You better be! I want a detailed essay about how it went!” she grins, kissing the camera.
“Alright, bye!” you smile before ending the call.
When you get downstairs, Harry and Izzy are already down there, Harry is zipping up her bag while she is dancing around humming to herself.
“Baby, your backpack is still in your room. Can you please get it?” Harry asks her, Izzy nods and runs towards you, stopping in front of you.
“Hi Y/N! I like your dress!” she beams at you.
“Hi! Well thank you!” you smile at her before she runs past you up the stairs. “Hey,” you greet Harry and his eyes snap up to you, his pink lips stretching into a warm smile as he leans closer and kisses your cheek sweetly.
“Hi. You look beautiful.”
“Thank you. So, any tips for meeting your mum for the first time?” you ask, fidgeting with your fingers nervously. Harry reaches out and takes your hands between his so he stops the motion.
“You don’t need tips. I know my mum will like you, she is already so excited to meet you, so don’t worry.”
“If you say so,” you breathe out.
Harry puts Izzy’s stuff in the Rover and soon buckles her into her seat before the three of you hit the road. Harry has a whole playlist for Izzy’s favorite songs so you obviously listen to that along with Izzy’s performance of all the songs, filled with misheard lyrics, but that’s what makes it even better. The car ride is about three hours, which is not that horrible. You need just one bathroom break sometime in the middle and Izzy sleeps through the last hour in the car, allowing the two of you to finally listen to music that’s not from a kids’ show.
“Do you have a song request?” you smile over at him, scrolling through his phone since it’s the one connected to the car, but he has given you permission to play whatever you like.
“Not really.”
“You don’t have songs you like to listen to in the car?”
“Not specifically. Do you?”
“Oh, I have a whole playlist for songs to blast in the car,” you chuckle.
“Really? And what songs are on it?”
“Well, I can just show you.”
You search up your user on Spotify and find the playlist in talk before putting it on shuffle. As the first song starts to play, you peek over at him to see his reaction and you spot the smirk on his lips.
“Black Eyed Peas?” he asks glancing at you shortly.
“Yeah, you don’t like them?” you smirk at him.
“I do, I just didn’t think you listen to them,” he admits with a soft chuckle.
“Are you kidding me? They give me the biggest nostalgia! I listened to them so much as a teenager.”
“So teenage Y/N gave a concert in her bedroom, singing I Gotta Feeling?” he teases you grinning.
“Not just a concert, a whole world tour.”
There’s a short silence, just the two of you listening to the song, you watch the trees and fields rush by you as you drive down the country road. The song changes to another one and you’ve already forgotten about what you talked about, but apparently not Harry.
“What were you like as a teenager?” he asks. You turn to face him and your eyes meet for a second.
“Um, like a normal teenager,” you shrug, not sure what to say.
“There’s no such thing as a normal teenager,” Harry smiles. “What did you do, what were your favorite things?”
“I was… pretty plain, if I might say. I wasn’t a rebel or too much of a geek either. I had like three good friends, we used to hang out a lot by the little lake near our neighborhood, that was like our spot. I liked going on hikes and I watched a lot of documentaries,” you admit with a small smile.
“What kind?”
“I don’t know, anything that was on,” you shrug. “My mom had this phase where she was trying to act like she was just like all the other mom’s from my school, but they were all at least a decade older than her. She was trying to prove that she was this mature, very serious woman who had her shit together and all that.”
“And she didn’t?” Harry asks peeking at you shortly.
“I mean, she did. She turned thirty when I was twelve. Most women barely just got married and started their family at that age but she had been married for eight years and had a middle schooler and a baby already. She really was mature but I could tell that she felt like she lost her twenties because of… me.”
Sighing you think back to the years when you often felt like a burden to your mom. She gave up a lot of things just to give you the life she imagined for you. She worked her ass off to raise you and later Trevor as well, have a career and do all the works around the house. Your dad was working a lot of night shifts, there were entire weeks when you barely even saw him. You don’t blame him, he was trying to provide for his family, but it’s pretty clear he and your mother grew cold over the years and it had a huge part in it.
“Do you… blame yourself for it?” Harry asks softly.
“No,” you shake your head. “It’s not like I had anything to do with being born,” you chuckle. “I just didn’t like seeing my mom struggle so much. So when Trevor was born I was trying to take over a lot of tasks around the house and with him as well. I babysat him a lot, took care of him in the mornings, I picked him up from daycare and later from school… I tried to make it easier for my parents.”
“So this is why you grew so close with him?”
“I guess so,” you nod. “I mean, I surely spent the most time with him,” you add with a short chuckle.
“And do you think this is why you’re so good with kids?”
“What is this, a therapy session?” you ask arching an eyebrow at him, but he just rolls his eyes.
“Just… trying to get to know you. Is that a problem?”
“No, I just… I’m not used to talking about myself so much. It’s been quite a few years since I’ve been in this… talking stage,” you admit with a sigh. “But to answer your question, it might have had some impact on me. I mean, I loved taking care of Trevor. It’s like I had my own baby doll, only that it wasn’t just a toy, it was a real baby I could play with.”
“Did you play dress up with him?” Harry smirks at you.
“I did,” you admit laughing. “I used to dress him as a princess a lot and he seemed to like it! My dad wasn’t really a fan of it.”
For the rest of the ride you listen to your playlist and talk about not just your but Harry’s past too. He tells you about his friends, what he was like in school and the mischiefs he did growing up, that drove his mum crazy sometimes. As you get to his hometown and he points out different places he used to go to when he was younger, you feel so much closer to him, like you’ve just gotten to see another piece of him that was hidden before.
He pulls up to the driveway of a simple townhouse and as you get out of the car you see the front door open and a woman rushes out, squealing in excitement as she runs up to Harry and hugs him tightly.
“Finally! I was starting to get worried!” she breathes out, rocking the two of them to left and right.
“Mum, don’t be dramatic. I texted you when we left and we got here perfectly in time,” Harry chuckles, holding his mum tight.
“You barely just arrived and you’re already picking on me? Typical,” Anne rolls her eyes, letting go of him. You round the car, feeling nervous to meet her. When her eyes finally fall on you, her smile grows even wider as she takes a step closer to you. “And you must be Y/N! It’s so nice to meet you!” she beams, pulling you into a warm hug as well.
“Nice to meet you too,” you chuckle, hugging her back.
“I’m Anne, but I listen to all versions of mum and grandma,” she tells you chuckling.
“Alright, noted,” you nod smiling.
Harry opens the car door of the backseat and unbuckles Izzy who has already woken up from her little nap and the moment her feet are on the ground she runs up to Anne.
“Grams!” She giggles before throwing herself into Anne’s arms who picks her up happily.
“Hi baby, you grew so much! I missed you!” she sighs as the little girl cuddles into her neck.
“Missed you too, Grams. I brought my new toys, do you want to play with them?”
“Of course! We’ll have all the time to play this week,” Anne smiles down at her. “Alright, come on in. Lunch is almost ready.”
Harry grabs Izzy’s things from the car and you all head inside. The house smells good from the cooking food in the kitchen and it’s such a cozy home, you can definitely see Harry growing up here. Above the fireplace in the living room there are a bunch of photos framed on the wall, most of them are from Harry and Gemma, but there are some more of other relatives as well, cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. It seems like Harry has a big family.
Harry unpacks Izzy’s stuff in her room that used to be Gemma’s apparently, he is telling Anne all about everything she needs to know about Izzy’s routines and she is listening patiently, though you’re sure she is more than capable of taking care of her. After all, she raised two amazing children already.
While Izzy shows Anne all her toys she’s brought with herself, Harry takes your hand and pulls you out of the room just to go into another one. Walking in you immediately realize that it must have been his once upon a time.
“You know, I can see your younger version in here, the one I saw in the photos downstairs,” you smirk at him, looking around. There are some old posters and pictures still littering the walls, stickers are covering the side of his wardrobe and dresser, some of them are partially ripped off already, he probably tried to get rid of them once he got older, but miserably failed.
“Yeah? I was pretty cute, right?” he smirks, so full of himself.
“I liked the curly Justin Bieber hairstyle,” you tease him and he gives you an “are you for real?!” look to which you just start laughing.
“Justin Bieber had nothing on me.”
“Yeah, sure,” you laugh before he grabs your hand and pulls you against his chest, wrapping his arms around you. “Your mum is in the next room,” you whisper against his lips as he leans down, teasing you with them just lingering on yours.
“So what? You never sneaked around your parents before?” he smirks down at you.
“I did,” you admit.
“Oh, nasty,” he comments before finally kissing you. However it doesn’t last long, because you hear footsteps coming from outside so you’re quick to move away from each other, just in time when Anne walks in.
“Lunch will be ready in a few, would you two mind setting the table?” she smiles, oblivious what was happening just a moment ago.
“Sure,” Harry nods, rubbing his nose as his other hand finds your waist and he ushers you out of the room.
Izzy helps Anne in the kitchen while you and Harry take care of the table. When everything is done you all sit down and start the feast Anne was so kind to make for you. It doesn’t take long to see the snickering but loving dynamic between Harry and his mother. Anne likes to pick on her son, call him out for basically anything and though Harry talks back, he mostly just lets her tear him to pieces. With love, of course.
“Izzy, please don’t get whipped cream all over the place!” Harry sighs when it’s time for dessert. Anne has made apple pie, one of Izzy’s favorites and she is going generous with the cream on top of her slice.
“You didn’t have problem getting cream all over you when we were making cupcakes, daddy!” Izzy sasses back, making both you and Harry drop your jaws while Anne starts laughing at her boldness.
“That was an entirely different situation, Izzy,” Harry shakes his head as he helps her with the scream before passing it over to you.
“Grams, you should have been there! Daddy, Y/N and I made a mess in the kitchen, but daddy started it!” Izzy giggles, digging into the pie.
“Is that so?” Anne smirks.
“We were just… playing,” Harry explains.
“Oh, I know how you can get when you’re just playing,” Anne chuckles. “Y/N, how do you put up with two kids in the house?”
“I used to deal with fifteen at the same time, so two is not a trouble,” you smirk at Harry who just rolls his eyes, but you see the hiding little smile on his lips.
After lunch Izzy insists on showing you the dollhouse Anne has set up for her in the backyard while Harry helps his mum with the cleaning up.
“We both know your sister likes to exaggerate stories, so I didn’t believe everything she said about you and Y/N,” Anne speaks up as she is washing the dishes and Harry is on drying duty.
“I’m glad you don’t fall for Gemma’s vivid imagination.”
“But there’s one thing she got right.”
“And what would that be?” Anne turns the tap off as she faces Harry, sighing in relief as she smiles at him.
“That you look happy.”
Harry opens his mouth to say something, but then just closes it. He does feel happy, even if he is still struggling to accept it. Anne dries her hands and reaching up she cups Harry’s face in her palms.
“Baby, I haven’t seen you like this for a long time. And I know you think you don’t deserve to feel this way, but you do. And Y/N makes you happy, clearly.”
“Mum…”
“No, honey, just… listen to me, okay?” she asks and he nods, giving all his attention to his mother. “It broke my heart to see you so… lost after what happened to Maggie. And I know that it was the hardest thing you ever had to go through, but you need to move on. She would want you to do the same thing.”
“How do you know, mum? You didn’t even like Maggie when I first brought her home,” Harry points out mumbling under his breath.
“That doesn’t change the way you felt about her. I know you loved her and I would have never wanted anything to happen to her. She made you happy and that’s all that mattered to me,” she smiles with a tired sigh. “And I just want you to be happy again. Whatever you two have going on… don’t let go of it, alright? She is making you happy and you deserve that.”
Harry doesn’t know what to say so he just nods before Anne pulls him into a tight, motherly hug that he returns gladly.
“I’m trying, mum. I’m trying,” he whispers into her hair, giving her a squeeze before letting go of her.
You stay a little longer, Anne makes you tea and Harry soaks in the last minutes with Izzy before he is forced to be away from her. You know he is looking forward to spending some time away from his daddy duties, but it’s clear that he’ll miss her terribly too.
“Alright, baby. Be good and I’ll call Grams to talk to you every day, okay?” Harry tells her, giving her one last hug. Izzy wraps her arms around his neck tightly, her face squished into his neck.
“Okay, daddy. I love you,” she mumbles with a pouty look.
“I love you too. Have a good time with Grams.”
“Thank you for everything, Anne,” you tell her, giving her a quick hug.
“Oh, you’re welcome. It was so nice to meet you,” she smiles, feeling a little touched by the goodbye. “Come back soon!”
“I will, thank you.” “Bye mum, call me if anything comes up,” Harry tells her, hugging her as well.
“We’ll be alright, don’t worry. Tell Mitch and Sarah that I wish them the best!” Anne smiles as you and Harry head out the door.
“I will! Bye!”
Izzy stands at the front door with Anne, waving after you as Harry backs out of the driveway and eventually, they are out of your sight.
Harry falls silent and you don’t have to be a genius to know that he is already missing Izzy. You can imagine what it feels like to not see her every day like he always does, when he is so used to having her around all the time.
“You alright?” you softly ask, giving his arm a short squeeze.
“Yeah, it’s just… It’s the third time I’m doing this, but it never gets easier. The first year we did it I ended up driving up here four times that week,” he admits with a chuckle.
“Nothing to be ashamed of. It’s normal to miss her.”
“I know, it just makes me emotional,” he admits, flashing you a short smile before he turns his gaze back at the road ahead of him.
The drive back home is a lot quieter than the way to Anne’s. You play some music again and Harry hums to it sometimes, but he is mostly just deep in his thoughts and you don’t want to bother him, knowing well he probably needs some time to settle with the thought of an entire week without Izzy.
You get some takeout for dinner before arriving home and eat together before putting on a movie to watch in the entertainment room. One movie turns into another and before you could realize it, you’re dosed off on the comfy couch, cuddled to Harry’s side near midnight.
When you wake up something entirely different is playing on the screen since the original movie has ended long ago. Harry is passed out, his head resting against the back of the couch, one arm curled around your shoulders while the other is resting on his stomach. Rubbing your eyes you check the time and decide it’s better if you both just go to bed before you end up spending the night on the couch.
“Hey… H,” you softly caress his cheek before you brush his unruly curls back from his forehead. He scrunches his nose adorably before his eyes flutter open, taking in his surroundings. “We fell asleep. Why don’t we call it a night?” you ask in a soft whisper. Harry sighs, nodding his head, squeezing you to his side before his arm falls from around your shoulders. You peck his cheek before pushing yourself up from the couch. He shuts the TV off and the two of you head upstairs. For your surprise, his hand finds yours on the way up the stairs, lacing his fingers together with yours.
You pad your way up to the second floor and walking past Izzy’s room Harry stops for just a heartbeat before he follows you down the hallway. When you’re about to let go of his hand to head into your own bedroom, Harry pulls you back gently, making you look at him with slight confusion.
“Do you… Maybe you could… sleep at mine, if you want to? Just a thought…” he breathes out, clearly nervous to speak what’s been on his mind.
“I would love to, but only if you’re sure about it.”
“I’m sure. It would be nice to… wake up next to you,” he adds with a shy smile and you notice how he didn’t say waking up next to anyone, he wants you to be there.
“Alright. Why don’t we both just go and shower separately and then I’ll come back to yours?” you offer, giving his hand a squeeze. Harry nods and leaning down he places a chaste kiss to your lips before letting go of your hand, going your separate ways.
After doing your usual nighttime routine you put on a pair of soft pajama pants and a simple shirt before heading back to Harry’s bedroom. The door is slightly open, the lights are still on. You knock on the door before pushing it open carefully. You’ve only been in here a handful of times and it’s strange to come here with the intention of staying.
Harry is standing by his dresser in a pair of sweatpants and a white shirt, his hair is slightly damp from his shower. As his eyes fall on your figure a small smile tugs on his lips before he glances towards the bed.
“Which… which side do you like sleeping on?” he asks and you can’t hold back a chuckle as you walk to the side that’s clearly not used by him usually.
Harry huffs with a smile before going to his side. You put your phone to the nightstand before getting under the covers, making yourself comfortable in Harry’s silky sheets. He sits to the edge of the bed, checks something on his phone before dropping it to his nightstand and he then joins you under the covers.
It’s a tiny bit awkward at first, neither of you really finding your place in such a new situation, so at first you just lie on your sides facing each other. Harry is clearly about to say something, he is just looking for the right words, so you give him all the time he needs.
“I’m glad you’re here,” he softly speaks up. “Not just because… I would be awfully lonely now without Izzy,” he adds with a cheeky chuckle. “I meant it generally. I’m really happy that you’re here.”
“I’m happy to be here too. Wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” you smile at him. Breathing out through his nose he closes his eyes for a few seconds before his green irises meet yours again. Leaning closer he kisses you softly, just another way to tell you the same thing he just said with his words a moment ago. Pulling back he settles his head on the pillow and he pulls you into his arms, making you cuddle to his side similar to the way you fell asleep on the couch earlier.
“Good night, Y/N,” he murmurs, pressing a kiss to the crown of your head.
“Good night, Harry,” you hum back, nuzzling your face into his shoulder, making yourself comfortable in his strong arms.
Harry grumbles lowly when his phone’s alarm goes off in the morning. He might be off from his daddy duties this week, but he is still the CEO of his company and work is calling his name. Sometime during the night the two of you got tangled up in each other. Unlike last night, now Harry is the one snuggled up to you, his heavy arm lying across your stomach, his legs mingled with yours under the sheets as you gently scratch his scalp with one hand, running the other up and down his arm across your stomach. You’re not gonna lie, waking up in a bed with Harry is far more blissful and satisfying than you imagined. Even early in the morning he has such an aura that sweeps you off your feet, the man was surely crafted by the gods.
“You’re gonna be late,” you hum, eyes still closed when he hits the snooze button and snuggles back to you.
“It’s set to when I have to get Izzy ready. We still have some time,” he mumbles against the fabric of your shirt.
You stay in bed a little longer until it really is time to get up. Harry’s morning form is so soft yet still breathtaking, even with his hair tousled and his puffy eyes, he still looks gorgeous and you find it slightly unfair how little effort the man needs to be this perfect.
Harry heads to take a shower and in the meantime you decide to start making breakfast while the coffee is brewing.
“Oh you shouldn’t have,” Harry breathes out with a thankful smile when he arrives downstairs and sees the almost ready breakfast and the smell of coffee hits his nose.
“I have all the time in the world this week,” you chuckle as you fill a plate with eggs and veggies before you slide it over to him on the kitchen island. You fix a plate for yourself as well and join him on the stool beside him.
“So… are you still up for the date?” Harry asks shyly, glancing over at you.
“Didn’t really change my mind since yesterday,” you chuckle.
“Would you be up to do it today?”
“So, eager, huh?” you tease him, nudging him with your shoulder and he just shyly shrugs, trying to push down his smile. “Today works fine for me. What do you have in mind?”
“I’m not ruining the surprise,” he smirks at you, sipping on his coffee.
“Alright, then just tell me the dress code.”
“Wear that lilac dress you wore to that birthday party the other week.”
You know exactly what dress he is talking about, but it stuns you that he actually remembers what you wore two weeks ago. He only saw you for a few minutes before you left, yet he still remembered the dress.
“Alright,” you smile to yourself before turning back to your breakfast.
Though you have a few extra sessions booked for the week, your Monday stayed empty and without Izzy roaming around the house you have to realize that you can easily get bored without her. You got so used to being with her all day long that now being home on your own is so weird.
You spend the first half of the day lounging at the pool, something you’ve been dying to do, but you were too busy with a certain little girl. Then you have a nice lunch and after reading the book you’ve been putting away for weeks, you realize that you’ve run out of things to do. So you text Trevor if he wants a ride home after school and of course he does, so after fixing yourself up you drive down to his school.
“Hi there, how was your day?” you ask when he sits into the car, throwing his backpack to the backseat before he buckles himself up as you back out of the parking spot.
“Fantastic, as always!” he fake cheers, making you laugh.
“Want to get ice-cream?”
“You know I always want ice-cream,” he snorts smirking at you.
You haven’t met Trevor ever since things become kind of romantic between you and Harry, and you didn’t want to tell him over the phone, so now is the perfect time to break him the news. When the two of you are sitting on the terrace of your favorite ice-cream place, your paper cup filled with chocolate and strawberry ice-cream while he chose mango and cookie dough, you finally start the conversation.
“So, I have news for you.”
“Oh my God,” he breathes out, closing his eyes for a second. “Are you leaving the country?”
“What? No! Why do you think that?”
“I don’t know, but last time you said you had news for me you moved out from home. Figured it might be something similar,” he shrugs, returning to his ice-cream.
“Well, no, I’m not leaving the country.”
“Okay, then what is it?”
“I’m kind of… dating Harry. You know, my boss.” You have no idea why you felt the need to add the last part when he has already met him, but you feel a bit nervous. Trevor is like your best friend and he had a bad feeling about Keith when you started dating him, but you ignored it. If he has a similar feeling about Harry now, you are definitely considering them this time.
“Oh!” his eyebrows shoot up. “What do you mean kind of?”
“Well, we haven’t had our first date yet, it’s happening tonight, but things have… changed.”
“So you slept with him?”
“No, I haven’t,” you chuckle nervously. “We kissed. A few times and… we talked about where it’s heading and we both think it’s going to turn into something… more serious.”
“That’s great!” he smiles at you and it seems completely genuine. “See, I told you it’s gonna happen sooner or later,” he smirks coyly, before he licks his spoon off.
“You were just drawing random assumptions because of his looks and wealth, Trevor. But it’s not about that.”
“Oh, I know you’re not a gold digger,” he teases you, making you roll your eyes at him. “So your first date is tonight? What are you guys doing?”
“I don’t know, he didn’t tell me,” you shrug with a small smile.
“Mysterious,” Trevor wiggles his eyebrows at you. “So he is finally ready to get back on the dating scene, huh?”
“Um, he is working on it. It’s a little hard for him, but he’s been changing for the better.” “That’s great. I’m happy for you,” he smiles at you. “Really, you deserve it after that asshole.”
“Yeah, I hope it’ll go well,” you smile back at him with a sigh before you return to your ice-cream.
After dropping Trevor off at one of his friends you head back home. For your surprise, Harry’s car is already parked on the driveway with another one that doesn’t belong to him when you pull up and walking in you find him with Niall in the kitchen.
“Oh, hi boys!” you greet them.
“Y/N! You are stunning as always!” Niall beams, pulling you into a tight hug right away.
“Thanks,” you chuckle patting his back. “What are you guys up to?”
They share a look and it tells you right away you are not supposed to know whatever they were talking about so you just nod smiling.
“Alright, got it,” you chuckle.
“How was your day?” Harry asks, hoping to change the subject smoothly.
“Great! Met with Trevor, just dropped him off.”
“Oh, how is he doing?”
“He is fine, struggling a little with math lately, but he is doing great,” you chuckle.
“So you have a brother. Do you happen to have a sister, maybe?” Niall asks with a coy smile and while Harry just rolls his eyes at his friend, you can’t help but laugh.
“Sorry, no,” you tell him the bad news. “But… I have a good friend and I think you’d like her.”
“A friend? Do you have a picture of her?” Niall beams, already excited about it. Pulling your phone out you show him a picture of you and Heather so he can have a good look at her. You actually think that Heather and Niall would be a good match, she might even be the girl Niall would give up his bachelor life finally.
“When are we having a double date?” he simply asks, making you and Harry laugh at the same time.
“I’ll see what I can do for you.” You let the boys finish whatever they were doing before you arrived so you go to your room, unwinding a little before you have to start getting ready for the date. Around five there’s a soft knock on your door and as you call out, Harry pops his head inside.
“Hi,” he smiles nervously as the rest of his body walks into your sight.
“Hi!” you smile back, putting your book to the side.
“I just realized I never told you the time when you should be ready tonight,” he chuckles nervously. “Is six good for you?”
“Yeah, that’s great.”
“Alright. Then… see you soon, I guess,” he smiles nodding before he walks out of your room. You can’t help a small chuckle at how nervous he seems about tonight, as if he wasn’t still sure about your feelings for him, when you’ve made it clearer than daylight.
You get the best kind of jitters while getting ready for the date. It’s like you’re in high school again and your crush has finally asked you out so you want to look your best. Since Harry already suggested you what to wear, you don’t have to spend an hour standing in your closet, trying to find the right choice. For the makeup you go for a little smokey look and you do a loose bun styles for your hair, remembering the words your mother always told you when you were a teenager.
“A woman’s greatest and most secret weapon is her neck. Men go crazy if you show them your neck and they don’t even realize it!”
You spray some perfume on yourself and put on a pair of nude heels before packing your necessities into a purse that matches your outfit. You finish with everything just in time, a soft knock signaling that Harry has returned. Checking yourself one last time in the mirror you open the door and reveal him standing at the door, wearing a pair of fitted purple dress pants with a crispy shirt on, matching your dress perfectly. And the cherry on top is the bouquet of red roses in his hands.
“Hi,” he breathes out with a nervous smile and his gaze travels down your figure, a blush tinting his cheeks.
“Hi!”
“You look… beautiful,” he smiles shyly and your heart is fluttering in your chest. It’s really happening, you are going on a date with Harry!
“Thank you,” you chuckle softly.
“These are for you. I know it’s weird that I’m picking you up from your bedroom and I’m not giving you this at the front door, but…” he chuckles as he hands you the flowers.
“It’s really nice, thank you,” you smile, taking the flowers before moving into the bedroom to put them in a vase quickly. Harry takes just about two steps into the room and stops with his hands hidden in his pockets as he eyes every movement of yours before you finish with the flowers and let him know that you’re ready to do. He holds out his hand and you take it gladly as you head out of the house.
He doesn’t tell you where you’re going, not even when you try to annoy him and bully him into finally hinting something, but you should have known that he wouldn’t break. He has a four year old daughter who is constantly bugging him, he has endless patience.
When he parks down in front of a modern apartment complex you kind of get really confused, because nothing around seems like the location you’d choose for a date.
“Are you gonna kidnap me and keep me hostage in one of the apartments here?” you ask him with narrowed eyes as the two of you head inside, taking the elevator up.
“It’s not kidnapping, you came willingly,” he smirks down at you.
“That I did.”
When you’re at one of the apartments you are really lost about what he had planned and he finally breaks your suffering and tells you what’s gonna happen as he keys the two of you into the apartment.
“This is Niall’s place, he let us use it tonight. My mum always says that cooking together is a good first date, because food brings people together and you can easily get to know each other,” he explains as you walk into the modern, but definitely very manly home. “I didn’t want to do it at home, because we are always there, so… Niall was nice enough to lend us his place for our date.”
You see that there are two full grocery bags on the kitchen counter and the table is already set for two, you wonder if Harry was here earlier, or Niall did the work for him. Either way, it’s such a thoughtful gesture and a perfect first date.
“Where is he tonight?” you ask with a small smile.
“He is visiting his mother, for a change,” Harry chuckles, knowing well you thought he would be out with a woman probably. “He said he won’t be back until later tomorrow so we can even sleep here, but I thought it would be better if we went home.”
“So what are we making?” you ask curiously as you peek into one of the grocery bags.
“We are going to attempt to make gnocchi with some killer tomato sauce. And brownies for dessert,” he adds with a small smile.
“That sounds great, what can I help with?”
“Let me just quickly pack everything out and then we have to peel the potatoes, yeah?”
“Alright,” you nod, your gaze wandering over to the spacious living room. “Can I look around?”
“Sure,” he nods while he is already elbows deep in one of the bags.
Niall’s place looks like it came right off the pages of an interior design magazine, the furnishing is modern and more on the dark color range, but not too much to make it appear depressing. Right next to his huge TV there’s a floor to ceiling bookcase filled with books mostly about music and art and you realize you don’t even know what Niall does for a living. It just never came up between his heavy flirting sessions.
“I never asked, but what does Niall do?” you ask calling out to Harry.
“Oh, he is a freelancer music producer. Tried to offer him a permanent spot at my company, but he prefers his freedom, like with everything else in his life,” he chuckles. “But he is a good one, we used to make music together when we were younger.”
Just as he says that, you spot a picture of the two of them on the shelves and your lips part in a bit of a shock when you realize that Harry used to have long hair. Leaning closer you inspect the photo better and you feel like you’re looking at two entirely different people. Niall’s hair was bleached blonde which is already enough to make him like another version of himself, but Harry is definitely the biggest shocker. He was rocking some loose shirt with the top buttons left undone, his necklace with the cross pendant peeking out and though the photo ends somewhere above his knees, you can tell that he is wearing skinny jeans, something you never thought you would ever see him in.
“You had long hair?” you ask joining him in the kitchen. Harry’s eyes shoot up to him, then he looks in the direction of the living room, a smile tugging on his lips as he probably remembers what photo you must have just seen.
“Uh, yeah. Yes I did, when I was about 21 or 22.”
“I could hardly believe that was you in the picture, with the long locks and the skinny jeans,” you tease him.
“Yeah, I was a lot different then, but after all, it’s been an entire decade since then,” he sniggles.
“Why did you cut it?”
“Um, I was pretty new in the business back then and had a few assholes telling me that it’s not too masculine and all that. It was a time when I cared more about others’ opinion than I should have so I kind of gave in and cut it.”
“I’m sorry they ruined it for you. But I’m glad you don’t care about others that much now,” you smile at him softly. Harry’s eyes flicker down to his painted nails and ring-clad fingers and you just know what he is about to ask before he even speaks up.
“Does it… bother you? That I paint my nails and stuff?”
“No,” you shake your head confidently. “Not at all. I mean, I never saw you without them, but at this point I think it wouldn’t even feel right,” you add with a small laugh that brings Harry’s smile back as well. Stepping closer you kiss his shoulder softly before turning your focus on the food in front of you. “So, let’s peel these bad boys!”
It’s the first time you and Harry actually work together in the kitchen for more than just five minutes. He is always in control at home, taking over everything with Izzy and you know it’s a good bonding time for them, so you never even tried to push your way into it without their invitation. But now the bonding is all about you and him and so far you’ve been a great team. The cutest thing is that he brought you matching aprons to protect your clothes and you look like you are in some cooking show for sure.
You keep asking questions from each other while working on the food, Harry asks you some more about your childhood and teenage years and he shares stories from college where he had this friend group of five. Niall was part of the group as well and he said he is still in touch with the other boys, but they all do very different things now, the other three are already fathers themselves and live far away, so they don’t get to see each other that much.
You are making the little dumplings while Harry is on duty for cooking them, relentlessly fishing them out of the boiling water once they swim up to the top. When that’s done, Harry starts making the sauce while you take care of the brownies. It all works out well, everything gets done easily and while the dessert is in the oven you start eating what you just created.
“Mm, this sauce is really good!” you hum when you take the first bite.
“It’s my mum’s recipe,” he smiles proudly.
At the beginning of the evening you could tell that he felt nervous, not essentially about being with you, but probably because of the thought of going on a date in general. But as time passed by and he got more and more comfortable in the situation, you could see him loosen up and calm his nerves, so now that you are eating the dinner you made together and drinking a glass of fine wine, talking about anything and everything, you feel like he is actually enjoying something he was probably terrified from before.
When the brownies are done the two of you take advantage of the nice evening weather and Niall’s amazing balcony, moving out to the lounge chairs, munching on the dessert with the skyline of the city in front of you. At one point you start playing a game of would you rather, and after a while you ask each other the most random things, cracking each other up continuously. You don’t even realize and it’s already past ten, you completely talked the evening away, but you don’t regret any of it.
You clean up Niall’s place, leaving it just the way you got it, putting some leftovers into his fridge for him as a thank you for lending you his place before you head out.
Harry keeps a hand on you at all times on the way home, he is either holding your hand over the console, or rests his palm on your thigh above your knee, but either way, he just keeps the physical touch up always. Not that you mind, you are doing kind of the same, enjoying his closeness.
Arriving home you can feel a kind of tension growing, but not a bad kind. You want him. Your desire to go further than just kissing has grown immensely tonight, but you have no idea how he feels about taking it further and you don’t want to push him past his boundaries.
“Want to… sleep with me again?” he shyly asks when you’re going up the stairs.
“Yeah, I would love that,” you smile at him, giving him a quick peck on his cheek.
When you part ways in the hallway he probably expects you to do your night time routine, but you have other plans. Grabbing your polaroid camera you pad your way over to his room, knocking on the door, hoping he is not in the shower yet. When he calls out for you, he is standing at his dresser, the first few buttons of his shirt are already undone, but he is still dressed.
“I just thought that… we could snap a picture as a nice memento of our first date,” you shyly explain to him, holding the camera up.
“Oh, yeah! Okay, how do you... how should we…?” he looks around the room and you step to his dresser, placing the camera to the top of it.
“It’s got a timer,” you explain as you set it up and tell him where to stand so you can check if he is in the frame. When it’s all set, you glance back at him. “Ready?”
“Yeah,” he nods shyly. You push the button and step back to him. “What should we…” he starts, but you already know what you want the picture to be like.
Cupping his face in your hands you pull him down and kiss him sweetly, for the first time tonight. You’ve noticed he hasn’t tried to kiss you all night, being a gentleman, but you’ve been craving it since he showed up at your door with the roses.
He hesitates for a moment, but eventually curls his arms around you, kissing you back softly. The timer goes off and the flash indicates that the photo has been taken. Pulling back you smile at him before taking the photo from the camera, setting it to the side to develop. Harry steps behind you, his arms coming to curl around your waist and you turn in his hold to face him.
“Hi,” you smile at him giddily. “Thanks for today.”
“I’m glad you enjoyed it,” he answers softly, making your heart flutter. You press your lips at his, kissing him hard and passionate, like you wanted all evening. He is quick to return the kiss with just as much passion as you put into it, his hands finding your waist as he slowly pulls you with him until the back of his legs hit the bed. He sits down and pulls you with him so you sit on his lap straddling him, never breaking the kiss as you settle in his arms, his hands roaming up and down your back.
Your kisses move from his delicious lips to his chiseled jawline and down his neck, your fingers working on the buttons of his dress shirt. You want him, you need him, he is all you can think about and the taste of his skin on your tongue is making you lose your mind.
His hands move up your thighs right to your bum, giving it a good squeeze, making you moan against the crook of his neck.
“Fuck,” he growls, throwing the two of you to the bed, getting on top of you before his lips attack yours, kissing you with a demand heatedly. His lips move smoothly against yours, devouring you with every suck and lick, making you dizzy in the head with such little effort.
He starts kissing down your neck, through your collarbone and whatever is showing in your dress on your chest. Your fingers lace through his messy curls, keeping him close to you as you try to control your moans and gasps. His fingers hook under the thin straps of your dress and he is about to pull them down when he stops, breathing heavily against your skin.
Harry lifts his head, his eyes meeting yours as he is panting through his parted lips and you cup his cheeks in your hands.
“Hey, what’s wrong? Talk to me,” you tell him softly, knowing well his mind is probably racing right now.
“I just…” he starts quietly. “I haven’t been with anyone since… Maggie,” he admits in a whisper and your gaze softens on him.
“And I haven’t been with anyone since Keith,” you admit truthfully. “We don’t have to do anything tonight. I’m fine with just sleeping if that’s all you want to do.”
“No, I want to… I want to do things, I just… I’m not used to it, I guess,” he breathes out as you run your fingers through his hair.
“It’s okay. We can take it slow. Whatever you feel comfortable with,” you assure him pecking his lips softly.
“Is it… Is it okay if we just… touch?” He is clearly feeling a bit embarrassed to ask, but you will not make him feel bad for asking for whatever he wants. Pulling him down for another kiss you smile up at him.
“Touching is perfect. It’s all up to you,” you tell him and see the gratitude in his eyes right away.
Removing yourself off of his lap you climb back on the bed, pulling him with you until he is holding himself up above you. Your eyes meet for a second again before leaning down he kisses you slowly, taking his time with you. He is holding himself up on one arm while his other hand finds your hip, gently squeezing it when his tongue slides into your mouth through the kiss. Your hands move down his chest and you start unbuttoning his shirt until it falls open and he shimmies it off with a soft chuckle.
“Let’s get rid of the dress too,” you breathe out, reaching down for the hem of your dress, pulling it up until it’s off, leaving you in only your underwear. You’re wearing a matching set with a strapless bra and as you lie back on the bed Harry’s eyes basically devour you, his gaze running up and down your body several times.
“You’re so beautiful, Y/N,” he breathes out before leaning down and kissing you again, his hand cupping your side before wandering over to your stomach and up to your chest. He runs his hand over your chest, gently squeezing it, making you moan into the kiss.
“And you’re wearing too much clothes,” you grin as you reach down and start undoing his purple pants you ogled him quite often tonight. Harry chuckles as he holds himself up for you to work the button and the zipper on his pants before he takes over the task and gets rid of them himself, leaving him in only his boxer briefs and you have to hold yourself back from gasping when you see the growing bulge between his legs.
You don’t get to eye him for too long, because he is back to kissing you, his body pressing up against yours as you let your hands roam his strong back, his skin burning under your touch. His lips travel down the line of your neck to your chest and his hand snakes behind your back, but he stops before he could do anything with the clasp of your bra. Glancing up at you he gives you a questioning glare, asking for your permission.
“You can take it off,” you softly tell him nodding. His fingers are quick to undo it and a moment later you’re lying with a bare chest underneath him. His hand moves to your chest again and he kneads your breast again, this time with nothing between your skin and his palm. You whimper under his touch, you’ve been so starved to be touched this way and now that it’s happening, it’s hard to control yourself, but Harry doesn’t seem to mind seeing you react to what he is doing.
His lips return to your mouth and while he kisses you with so much passion, he slowly lays himself down next to you, so you’re facing each other sideways on the bed. He pulls you closer to him until you’re flushed against his hard chest and while your hand roams around his shoulders and back, his palm slides down your spine, over your waist until he calms bum, pushing you even closer to him. His clothed erection presses against your thigh and you can’t help but whimper his name at the feeling.
His kisses slow down and his touch loosens on you until he pulls back, seemingly just for air, but you can tell his head is starting to race again, spiraling thoughts taking over his mind.
“Do you want me to take over control?” you softly ask him, pushing his unruly curls out of his forehead. His gaze softens and he nods shortly with gratefulness lacing through his look.
He watches you intently as you push yourself up into a sitting position, he rolls to his back and keeps his gaze on you as you hook your fingers into your panties, getting rid of them before doing the same for him with his boxers. He lifts his hips up as you pull down the elastic material, revealing his hard cock to your greedy eyes. You want nothing more than to taste him, but he said he just wants to touch so you don’t try to overstep his limits, leaving this desire of yours to another time. Instead, you lean down, capturing his lips in a sweet, reassuring kiss that everything is going fine to calm his nerves as much as you can, while you place your palm to his lower stomach, moving down slowly until you find his hard cock, wrapping your hand around his length and giving it a few gentle stroke.
“Fuck,” he breathes out against your parted lips and you can’t push a smile down.
You kiss his lips, his cheeks, his jawline, everywhere around his face while you keep pumping him, spreading some of his precum down his length to help your hand move smoother. Your actions awaken something in him, he grabs your face in both his hands, kissing you hard before he pushes you to your back, becoming the one on top. He parts your legs with pushing a knee between your thighs and while you keep up with your motions, he gets down to action as well. One of his large palms runs down your abdomen, stroking your lower belly gently before it moves to your inner thigh, spreading you even more for him before you feel his touch on your heated and dripping wet core. First, he just teasingly runs two fingers through your folds, testing how wet you are and when he realizes that you are more than ready to whatever he has planned, he moves his thumb to your sensitive clit, drawing circles with the pad of his finger, sending a wave of pleasure up your spine immediately.
“Harry!” you moan his name, running your thumb over the head of his cock that makes him gasp and stop his motions for a moment before he returns to pleasuring you.
He buckles his hips into your touch while his fingers move down from your clit until he is teasing your entrance, just circling around it but not pushing into you. Rolling your hips you signal him that you want the teasing to end and he luckily gets the hint, slowly sliding two fingers inside you, curling them gently and it makes your eyes roll back immediately. He rests his forehead on your shoulder as he starts moving his fingers in and out of you while you try your best to keep up your pumping motion as well, moving your other hand to his balls to give him some of that extra pleasure and he seems to be liking what you’re doing, because your name keeps falling from his lips as keeps fingering you, curling his digits just the right way inside you from time to time.
“Fuck, Y/N, I won’t last long,” he pants, his lips brushing against your neck before he kisses the soft skin above your collarbone.
“It’s alright. Just want you to feel good, H,” you assure him, though you’re getting closer to your release as well.
“Are you close?” he asks out of breath, still holding himself up above you, leaning onto his other arm next to your head.
“Yeah, don’t stop,” you nod, turning your head so your lips could meet for a kiss again.
You can tell he is trying hard to hold himself back, to stretch it out as long as he can. A torturous look tugs on his face and you kiss his temple, wanting nothing more than to see him finally reach the peak.
“Let go, H. It’s alright,” you whisper against his skin and he whines at your words before you feel his cock jerk in your hand and he cums under your touch.
You keep stroking him as he rides his high, gasping and panting your name while he spills his semen onto your naked stomach. His fingers stopped moving inside you as he found his relief, but as soon as you feel him recovering from his orgasm, he goes right back to where he left it, desperately wanting to pleasure you as well.
“Harry!” you moan when he hits a specific spot inside you, tingling your nerves just right, your hands come to clasp onto his broad shoulders.
“Cum for me, babe. Let me see you feel good,” he whispers before his lips occupy your mouth again, kissing you with so much passion and vigor, your senses are starting to overload.
“Fuck, I’m gonna cum!” you gasp feeling your toes curl and Harry picks his pace up, his thumb coming in contact with your clit as he tries to make you reach your high.
And then it finally happens. You stop breathing for a moment, the intensity of it washing over your whole body. It’s been so long since you felt this good with anyone, and just the thought of doing this with Harry probably adds a lot to the equation.
He slows his fingers down, but makes sure to curl them inside you every time he pumps them in, and you repeat his name over and over again until you finally catch your breath. Your gaze meets his, and you see a happy and satisfied shine in his green irises as he leans down and kisses you sweetly, pulling his fingers out of you gently.
“M’gonna get a towel,” he murmurs, pecking your lips one last time before he gets up from the bed and walks into the bathroom while you lie on his bed, totally gone and worn out from your orgasm. Harry comes back with a damp washcloth and cleans up the mess he made on you before gently moving to between your legs, taking such good care of you. He drops the cloth to the floor, not wanting to leave the bed again as he pulls the covers over your bodies, pulling you into his arms.
“How are you feeling?” you softly ask, pecking his toned chest.
“I’m good.”
Lifting your head you search for his eyes, wanting to make sure he didn’t regret any of it, but he seems calm and rested for a change. Smiling up at him you push yourself up a little so you can connect your lips before you snuggle back to his side and let yourself slowly drift off to sleep, listening to his steady heartbeat under your face.

The best of friends
Peter Parker x Stark! reader
A/n: Hello! So this time the reader is going to be black! If y’all wanna like...request for a reader to be an ethnicity or race you can, I’ll do my best to write for it 💕
Summary: Peter Parker is your best friend. In fact he’s one of your only friends. So it’s needless to say things get a little complicated when you fall in love with him and he’s in love with another girl.
Warning ⚠️: Oblivious Peter, sad reader, love triangles
This fic was inspired by @cherrytholland and their silence series, YALL need to check it out!
You never had many friends. It’s alway been that way, ever since you remembered.
Being a Stark meant that you were constantly in danger, especially after your dad became Iron Man. So you were homeschooled. It was pretty easy, ever since the Avengers moved in, Bruce and Tony took turns teaching you everything you needed to know. So there was no need for you to go to school.
But you were lonely. Yes, you were surrounded by the team, but they were all so much older than you. Wanda and Pietro were the only ones closest to your age not only were they still way older than you, they hated your dad for a long time so there was a small tension there.
You spent time with your dad, hell he was your best friend, but a girl can only spend so much time with her father. Bruce was too scared to hang out with you. Steve treated you like a toddler. Sam and Bucky were fun to be with but then Steve will join and then they all act as if you’re a baby. Natasha is great to go to for advice but she rarely had time to talk with you, Clint was a whole father. And Thor, he was hardly on earth.
That's when Peter Parker came into your life. He was the first person on the team who was your age. You and he quickly became friends, bonding over your shared interests in Star Wars and being the youngest in the Avengers HQ.
When you first met him, you were really shy. As said before, you rarely had the chance to talk to anyone your age. If you did, it was most likely the child of another business owner at some fancy party. So becoming friends with Peter was definitely an experience. You remember the day you two became friends.
**Flashback**
You really weren’t expecting to meet Peter. Hell, you didn’t even know that he was supposed to be coming over. So,when you walked into the common room, wearing someone else’s tee shirt and a bonnet, you were shocked to see a boy next to your dad staring at you.
“Oh, Y/n! I may have forgotten to mention I was showing Peter around...” Tony said as he noticed you were sort of unprepared for a visitor.
“ yeah that would have been good to know” you say glaring at your father.
“Well then, Peter this is my daughter Y/n, Y/n this is Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man”
“H-hi! It’s nice to meet you!” Peter stuttered as he put out his hand. You smiled shyly as you took it
“It’s nice to meet you too” you said quietly, taking your hand back and looking at the floor. An awkward silence fell upon you three. Then Tony cleared his throat
“I’m gonna ignore that little awkward thing. Y/n!” He looks at you with a gleam in his eye, “Maybe you can show the kid around, it would be nice if you knew someone your age.”
“DAD!” You shout, embarrassed he basically set you up on a play date, “ I talk people my own age!”
He scoffs and rolls his eyes, “ Talking to those Gothamites during galas doesn’t count.”
“We follow each other on Instagram!”
“Wow, that’s the pinnacle of friendship.” Tony replied sarcastically, “ show the kid around.”
You sigh as you turn to Peter, who was standing a few feet away awkwardly listening to you and your dad squabble.
“ Alright web head, let’s go”
He looks at Tony, slightly fearful. But Tony only smiles and says, “ Aw a nickname, see Peter she does like you.” Then walks away, leaving you two alone.
Flashback ends ****
Who knew that from that awkward interaction, a beautiful friendship would blossom??
From then on, you and Peter were practically attached by the hip. Every day after patrol, Peter would come over and hang out with you. Whether you’re watching movies, playing video games, or cranking the other Avengers, you and Peter could always be found together. He truly became your one best friend.
Until it became more.
The light hugs he’d give you when he first saw you started to linger, you both sat closer when you were watching movies (practically cuddling), he’d fall asleep on you lap when you stroked his hair.
All this but you both still held on to the notion that you just friends. Well, Peter did.
You were really unexperienced when it came to stuff like this. This was the first time you ever had a friend, let alone have a crush. It was easier for you to ignore these intimate moments and cling onto the idea that it was just platonic. And you did, up until your dad had the wonderful idea to invite Peters class on a tour of the Tower.
At first you really didn’t have an opinion.
If anything, you were indifferent to the idea of your home being swarmed by teenagers. It didn’t help that Steve convinced your dad that you should be present during the tour. Claiming that “ it’d be good for her to meet more kids her age instead of just Peter.”
Honestly, you had other friends! They just lived in a different city and you rarely talked.
But there you were, standing beside Bucky as your dad went on about the compound and all the nerdy science stuff. You weren’t really paying attention, you had some AirPods in. It wasn’t until Bucky nudged you when you realized that your dad was calling you.
“ Come on up kiddo” he said giving you that Dad™️ stare.
You grin at him, then glare at Bucky as he snickers into his shoulder. You make your way up to where your dad is in the front of the crowd.
“ What am I supposed to be doing” you whisper to your dad. He rolls his eyes and whispers back “ Introduction and answer some questions”
You gulp, you were always good at public speaking . You were a Stark, of course you were. But introducing yourself to your fathers business partners and introducing yourself to your peers was two different things. You eyed the crowd trying to find Peter, you found him next to a chubby boy with an awestruck look on his face and a rather pretty girl who looked like she’d rather be anywhere but here. When you made eye contact with him, he smiled and threw you a thumbs up.
That simple gesture give you all the confidence you needed to introduce yourself
“ Hi, I’m Y/n Stark. I’m seventeen years old and I live here with my dad and the team. Obviously” you say, a slight smile on your face. “ I guess I have to answer questions. But I’m not sure cause I wasn’t paying attention”
The group laughs and a few hands raise, the questions are basic “ what’s it like living with avengers?” “ Where do you go to school?” “Are you single?” Etc etc. After answering, the rest of the team introduced themselves and then split the kids into groups for the tour. You looked for the group Peter was in, finally finding him in Sam and Bucky group. You sneak away from your fathers side and skip up behind the duo. You watch them bicker over where to take their group.
“ What about the gym ?” You say, startling the two men.
“Jesus!!” “Shit!!”
You laugh, watching them dramatically clench their chest. “You’d think as highly trained soldiers you’d be more aware of your surroundings.”
“ haha.” Sam says, “ just for that you’re not allowed to be part of our group”
“ I’ll just find a way to sneak in.” You say with a grin. They roll their eyes and lead the group to the gym. You stay in place as you wait for Peter to walk by. As he does you saddle up next to him.
“Hey web slinger” you whisper in his ear. He jumps at your voice.
“Y/n??!” His voice cracks, “ don’t do that!!”
“Aw come on Pete!” You laugh, “ don’t be such a wuss!”
Then the boy next to him turns, The awestruck look back on his face
“ Your..your Y/n Stark ” he says wide eyed. You smile shyly as you turn to him, remembering where you were.
“ hi, you must be Ned. Peters told me a lot about you” you say in a low voice.
“ Peter talks to you about me” he says in a surprised voice.
“Yeah! It’s really awesome to finally meet you.”
“ Are you two coming?” Another voice chimes in. You turn to see the pretty girl with a bored expression.
“ Oh, hey” she says noticing you, “ I’m Michelle Jones, but just call me MJ”
“Y/n Stark” you say with a smile. She nods at you and then turns to Peter and Ned.
“ Come on you two, Liz is asking where you are”
“ Liz is asking about me??” Peter says, his face turning red, “ what did she say? Did she mention my name?!”
You watch him in confusion. He never acted like this except when Natasha called him handsome that one time. Then again, if Natasha called you pretty you’d freak out as well.
MJ rolls her eyes and ignored his questions, “ So you live here?” She asks you. Her question startled you as you weren’t expecting to be talked to.
“ Ye-yeah. I’ve been with my dad since I was about two.” You stuttered.
“That’s cool!! What about your mom?” Ned asks.
You smile sadly, “ I don’t know, she’s not around much.” Sensing your sadness, Peter wrapped in arm around you.
“ Cone on guys, quit it with the questions.”
Ned looks at you apologetic and Mj looks away. Then a pretty girl walks up to your group.
“ There you are. Come on you guys, you’re not supposed to split from the group.”
Peter pulls his arm back immediately at her presence. His eyes glaze over as he looks at her with a gaze you can only describe as dreamy.
“He-hey!! Sorry Liz, guess we lost track of time..heh” He rubs the back of his neck as his face turns red. His body tensed up in anxiety but at the same time is slouched. He has a goofy grin that you’ve never ever seen before.
Seeing Peter act so differently around this girl made you feel weird. Your hands were sweaty and your chest filled with anxiety. You felt cold and hit at the same time. There was a sick feeling in your stomach.
“Are you okay?” Mj asked looking at you in concerned.
You were frowning. Ned looked at you with wide eyes “ I’m sorry about mentioning your mom! I really didn’t mean to upset you.”
You turn to him and smile at his concern for you. “ Don’t worry about it, you didn’t know” you frown again looking at Peter walking with Liz, “ Soo, who’s that?”
“ Oh that’s Liz Allen. Peters been in love with her since like freshman year”
Your heart drops and that sick feelings return. “ Oh really?”
“Yeah, I am surprised you don’t know who that is Peter hasn’t stopped yapping about hersince freshman year.” MJ says rolling her eyes.
“ Peters never mentioned her. Just Ned and you.” You say. MJ hums at that.
“ Thats funny, Peter doesn’t talk about his internship too much. we didn’t even know you two were friends until today.”
Well, if you weren’t hurt before, now you were in absolute pain.
“Oh..really?” You ask, “ it’s probably because I hardly leave the HQ. Peter is the first friend I have here in the city.” You tried to reason, but you didn’t even convince yourself.
Ned and MJ look at you in shock, but before they can say anything Peter comes back to the group.
“ Hey guys! Liz just agreed to hangout with us this weekend!” He says to Ned and MJ, his back turned to you. You’re shocked because you were supposed to go shopping with Peter this weekend.
“ Since when were we hanging out this weekend??” Mj asks confused with the sudden plans.
“ well...Liz was supposed to go shopping with her friends but they have plans this weekend, and she was really bummed out about it so I said she can hang out with us...” he says quickly.
“ but I thought we were going shopping..” you finally say. Peter jumps and looks at you as if he’s realizing you were there.
“ Oh crap! Y/n I’m so sorry! I completely got caught up with everything!” He apologizes, “ Hey! Why don’t you come with us! You can get to know Ned and MJ some more, and Mr. Stark and Cap will get off your back about talking to people your age”
“ That sound fun!” Ned exclaimed
“ I guess I have nothing better to do” Mj says
You want to decline at first, upset that he forgot about the plans he made with you and you didn’t really want to see him flirt with Liz. But he was looking at you with those brown eyes you love, so you couldn’t say no.
“ sure, I can’t wait..”
You smile weakly. Already dreading the upcoming weekend.

Breaking down Hunter and Omega’s relationship. Pt 2.
We’re back at it, here with the second post in this father-daughter-space-duo series! You guys responded to the first post better then I expected in all honesty! I didn’t think my insights were viewed as so important lmao. I don’t really think much introduction is needed here, the post itself is very self explanatory.
(Pasted paragraph: I would just like to add a disclaimer here. I am, in no way whatsoever, slating the other batchers for having differing relationships with Omega. I absolutely adore everything single one of the boys, and I think they all have wonderful and unique interrelations with her. Although I may point out these different approaches in comparison to Hunter’s, I am not stating these engages are wrong, just different is all!
I’m going to separate this into a little series- covering each episode in a separate post, which I’ll have tagged as the series progresses. Once I’ve tackled these two, as they’re my favourites, I’m going to move on to each individual Batcher and perhaps a few other dynamics such and Hunter and Crosshair, or Wrecker and Omega! Let me know what you guys would like to see!)
(Thank you to this weeks proof-reader: @treasureofmy-heart 💛)
Cut and Run: S1/E2
We kick off this episode with Hunter walking in on Echo inspecting Omega and Wrecker fast asleep on the floor. His face is very relaxed and he clearly finds it very sweet that her childlike curiosity has tired her out. His line, “ha, well this is a first,” while holding a strong gaze in Omega’s direction, suggests that she’s been exploring for quite some time, unleashing her endearing juvenile inquisition in the batchers presence. Hunter continues to claim she’s curious, using the same lighthearted tone he has always used in her regard, sparing the conversation in the medical wing on Kamino. This continues to confirm his gentle approach and concern towards the young clone.
When Echo confronts him over the situation at hand, it’s evident that Hunter hasn’t actually thought about what he’s going to do with Omega, yet by the look of quizzicality on his face. I personally took this as a sign that his initial thoughts were always “we’re going to lay low with her, look after her, while keeping everybody else safe.” It’s clear here that Echo has differing ideas that Hunter hadn’t even began to consider, and I think that’s what perplexes him in this moment. He needs to consider everybody.
The kid is up and awake! (Let the havoc commence aha.) Omega’s reaction to sunlight and dirt is definitely one of my favourite developmental moments of hers, it really sets in place that this little girl may have been an intelligent medical assistant, but she lacks experience, and still needs a guiding hand to help her through this new world she’s never endured before. I’d like to point out that it is, in fact, Hunter who stops to watch Omega’s reactions, and his FACE when she’s playing in the dirt! I’ve never seen such a parental smile on a man so stoic! I feel like I’m repeating myself a lot, but he is so endeared by her! She’s a breath of fresh air in Hunter’s very toxically routined life, and I love that for both of them. When they finally reach Cut’s land, Hunter is the one to pull her back, despite the fact she had to run between Echo and Tech to get to him. And upon Suu and Cut’s arrival, I actually didn’t realise that Omega creeps behind Hunter, most likely because these are strangers she doesn’t know and she feels she needs the protection. This confirms a clear bond between them has already began to flesh out.
There isn’t too much to say about the introduction and inhibitor chip discussion, as Omega spends a decent amount of that time exploring Cut and Suu’s house, but I will just say that it’s a nice touch that she ends up back at Hunter’s side when her part of the conversation is needed, she always seems physically drawn to him. Which brings me to my next point. Upon Shaeeah and Jek’s arrival, Omega once again creeps behind Hunter out of fear, only deciding to approach when formally addressed to do so. *Sigh*, and when Shaeeah pulls Omega out to play, and she halts to ask for Hunter’s permission, which is clearly given through a series of comforting smiles, is a plain indication of a trusted child-parental relationship. I must admit, Hunter’s face is pretty hilarious when everybody practically calls him out on his parental role- it’s just “why are you all staring at me..?” Because you’re acting like a dad, my dude.
Okay! Down to Cut and Hunter’s discussion. It’s a nice touch that Hunter is the first one outside to watch Omega play, swiftly followed by Cut, who, rightfully so, questions her existence. Although instead of explaining Omega’s origin (and by that I just mean that she’s a medical assistant clone from Kamino), he states that it doesn’t matter what the Kaminoans created her for, because she’s with them now, and to be with them she doesn’t need a purpose, she’s just a kid and should be allowed to act like one. Cut goes ahead to tease him over the ins and outs of raising a child, but to Hunter it was a no-brainer, Kamino wasn’t safe, so she was coming with them, as I’ve said previously, he saw NO negotiations. And as Cut says, “I (you) have to do what’s best for them.” This adds sentiment to the narrative of Hunter’s commanding role within the squad and Omega specifically.
So I’m shifting ahead slightly to the ball incident, and I have a LOT to say about this scene. First of all, it’s clearly evident that Hunter is the first to leave the house, along with Cut and Suu following closely behind. Associating this trio together is purposeful on the animators part in my opinion, they intentionally exclusively had Hunter leave with the other parents in the situation, isolating him specifically with that role in Omega’s life. When he finally reaches her, we see the protective hand come straight out to guard her against the Nexu, a typical trait they’ve established between them.
Now we move on to the confrontation. This is the first time Hunter raises his voice at Omega, and immediately she turns herself away from him, curling into her shoulder and making herself small. Omega is going through a lot of emotions right here, she’s afraid, anxious, and she’s being forced to deal with the fact that for the first time, Hunter is mad at her, for something she didn’t even intend to do wrong. Whereas from Hunter’s perspective, he hasn’t acknowledged she’s already in a bit of a state, and instead feels the need to immediately lecture her for her mistakes….although this lasts all but thirty seconds. Upon Cut’s attempts to diffuse the situation by having him pull Hunter away and reiterating that “she’s (Omegas) not a soldier”, his face immediately softens, he forgot for a moment, but now he realises and instantly the features are set in a regretful frown, he clearly feels awful and misrepresented. Hunter continues to observe Cut’s behaviour as he comforts Omega, who seems to take to the attention like a kicked puppy, lip trembling, eyes shaky, shoulders hunched, and I honestly think as Cut carries her away- is the exact moment Hunter realises he isn’t good enough for Omega. (I’ll further out on this in a moment)
I only want to briefly touch upon Omega’s gunners nest scene because I don’t think it has too much impact on her relationship with Hunter, however I would like to address the symbolism. I personally see the removal of her headpiece and the addition of her bangs as a new beginning, attaining the contrasting yellow light of Salucemi in comparison to Kamino, where she would’ve been given her jewel. Considering the episode’s outcome, Omega is no longer the tightly held, quivering little girl from Kamino, and instead she brings a slight unruliness to her aura, a little cheeky, definitely her brother’s sister. Still a sweetheart of course, but with a matter of confidence and boisterous behaviour to her. She seems to bounce out of her sadness quite easily here, as she seems suddenly awkward- yet curious- over Tech’s plan later on.
Furthering out into my previous point about Hunter believing Omega deserved much better in comparison to what he could provide: his conversation with Suu. “Protecting them is what we do.” The realisation on his face when she says this, it’s so…raw, something he’s taking time to comprehend. He heeds her words because he knows she and Cut are experienced in this field, they are better suited for Omega than he and the boys are, he believes he isn’t good enough for her, and this is projected when he insists ‘Mega leave with the family of four. Although Suu questions his sincerity, and he does indeed dodge the straightforward answer, this is what Hunter anticipates is best for Omega. He’s putting her needs above his happiness, no matter the heartache.
Moving along slightly, as Omega and Hunter spend a short period of time away from each other during the ship impoundment, I briefly wanted to touch upon the tone of Hunter’s voice when he learns Omega is on route to their position…by herself in a heavily armed spaceport. His eyes widen in a moment of fear, his voice is suddenly strained, he is struck with another raw emotion, something he frankly can’t obtain right now, and it’s let out in a minor threat towards his brothers- “if something happens to her-“ a clearly indication of worry.
This next point absolutely breaks my heart, the poor dears, both of them. Upon Omega’s arrival, Hunter is left to explain his forced proposal that she should leave Salucemi with Cut and Suu. As usual he completes his little ritual of taking her shoulders and crouching to her level, although this time he can’t quite look her in the eyes, a clear sign of regret and guilt, because he doesn’t want to give her away, he knows deep down she belongs with them, but he doesn’t believe he has what it takes to raise and protect her. The way Omega’s eyes crumple really catches me here, she’s being left, again… All this kid has ever known her entire life has either been abandonment, abuse or isolation, and she’s being passed on to strangers by the only people she’s ever been able to trust, and not only is it clearly breaking her heart, but she’s taking it personally, she thinks she’s at fault, much like Hunter does. Her line: “but, I want to stay with you.” compressed with the quivering tone and her precious accent really aides her desperation here, it conveys her in an adequate and very precise way.
Starting a brief new point to split these up slightly: I bring us to the continuous glances shared between them. Omega consistently looks over her shoulder to Hunter, she doesn’t want her eyes to leave him for one moment, she’s savouring his face, his details, for the very last time. And equally, Hunter is letting go of something he doesn’t want to leave behind, he likes the kid, to the point where his own self depreciation and doubt have been forced ahead in order to protect her, he can’t risk anything at this point. I’d also like to quickly mention how beautifully Omega’s eyes are animated, they intel so much, those precious little doe irises hold such story to them.
Moving on to a little jump cut enduring the batch’s escape and Omega’s return: Hunter’s tone of voice when addressing Wrecker is so pained, and his facials match it perfectly “she’s not com-“ it’s almost as though he’s biting back the urge to sprint headfirst into the gunfire if only to catch up to the little clone before it’s too late.
However, seeing as she’s managed to find her own way back that wouldn’t be exactly necessary. I think it’s a nice point that Hunter is the one to rush to Omega’s aide after she is grabbed by the trooper (flowing a brief flash of concern crossing his face), although Wrecker might’ve been closer, it’s a nice hint to their subtle closer bond. He, once again, crouches to her level although an unnecessary step in the situation, and I see this as another nod to their familiarised dependancy.
Finally, my last point for this episode, is their final conversation within the last few minutes. It’s faint, but the fact that the other batchers are all busying themselves in the cockpit, leaving Omega and Hunter to chat privately, is a very distinct use of separation. It also should be noted that Omega is the one to approach Hunter, this shows a decent level of not only maturity on her part, but trust between them as family, she trusts both him and herself enough to advance on a delicate situation, we even see her hesitate slightly, before pushing forward with a slip of confidence, and that takes a lot of gut from a little kid. She stands her ground, but with compliment. She very much reminds me of Hunter himself in the brig, assertive yet respectful. And speaking of Hunter, his face is just absolutely guilt-ridden when talking to her, because he too made the mistake of attempting to give her away, no matter how much good he thought it would do them both. While Omega is admitting she has a lot to learn in regards to safety and tactility, Hunter is suggesting he has a lot to learn about raising a child and providing the necessary care for her. It’s a brave moment for both of them, to be honest and open, and yet its received extremely well on both ends.
“If this is where you want to be…then this is where you’ll stay.” The admiration in his voice, the admiration in her eyes! They absolutely adore one another, and it melts my heart every time it’s displayed!
I hope you liked my analysis of Hunter and Omega’s relationship in episode two of The Bad Batch! Of course, I’d love to discuss these two with anybody who might be interested, so please feel free to drop me an ask or a DM, and if you’re captivated enough I’d totally recommend looking out for my future posts on the topic!
As always, much love to our ‘Megs and Hunter, thank you for reading! 💛

Jake and Amy single parents AU.
Pretty please! :))
oh! Oh, I strangely love this one!
- Amy is a police-widow with little Mac (no, Teddy was not the father, it was a non-canon detective), while Jake is at the better end of a really messy divorce from Sofia, who very quickly handed over all alimony of Maya to him to focus on her career.
-Amy tries her best to juggle the newly single parent life with her full-time position running a bookshop, while Jake is not too happy about having to bring Maya in to the precinct all the time, but it can’t be helped (and Scully makes a surprisingly good babysitter). The squad’s had his back through the entire break-up, and they all love his little girl to bits, so at least she won’t be missing the family aspect in her life - and will always have an amazing female role model in her Auntie Rosa, who’s already planning to teach her Spanish just so she can trashtalk her dad with her without Jake knowing
- Mac + Maya meet at daycare and absolutely hit it off, despite the age difference of two years. Mac has apparently seen another curly headed toddler and immediately decided to brother the sh*t out of her. He takes her along to all his games and helps her pick colours for her pictures and shares his apple slices with her in exchange for a bit of sandwich (which is much nicer anyway).
- the daycare workers absolutely adore the little duo, and can’t help remarking how much they look like siblings anyway. So of course Jake has to meet the mom of the adorable little boy who always bring his daughter over to him for pickup by holding her hand.
- he’s a bit afraid of having to deal with the usual “Aw they’re little boyfriend and girlfriend” comments he’s expecting, but obviously Amy is having none of that. Instead, she tells him how glad she is that Mac has found a little friend to protect. “He’s always trying to protect everyone so much, ever since his dad... well...”
- (Jake knew, distantly, that she was the widow of one of his colleagues from another precinct, but apart from the usual condolences they’d all sent it had never really registered in his mind that there was a wife and a child left behind.)
- “Oh well Maya is so happy too. She’s a bit shy and scared at the moment, so having a big friend help her get out of her shell is great. Your little boy is a sweetheart, too.”
- Amy smiles at him, and he’s pretty sure his heart should not be doing what it’s doing, so he beats it down and tries his best to ignore it. Which is hard, because she smiles at him a lot in the coming months when they meet up for playdates, Mac over excited to show Maya all his favourite spots at the park or the coolest fish at the aquarium.
- Jake moans during one of their meet-ups about a case that has been dragging on forever and is going to need an allnighter to finally be solved, and his partner Boyle is really trying his best alone, but he’s the primary on it and- it feels great to talk about it with someone who understands, outside of his squad, even if Amy sometimes nods with the saddest look on her face when he mentions parts of his job. But she offers him last minute babysitting if he ever needs it, considering her job finishes promptly at 5pm each day, and he can’t help but take her offer when another case hits that needs him on a stake out at 10pm.
- so Maya gets a lovely sleepover with Mac, and Amy gets the biggest box of her favourite pralines as a thank you, because Jake has never, not once, given Maya to a babysitter to go to his job without feeling remorse and guilt, not even his own mom, but he had to deal with none of that when Maya gladly ran up the stairs to Amy’s place where Mac was already shouting her name.
- needless to say that Amy and Jake become the great friends they always are over time. He brings coffee and muffins to their park playdates, and she brings over frozen meals from Mac’s abuela for kid movie marathons at Jake’s place. They know each other’s schedules to help out with the kids, Jake has convinced everyone in his friend group and workplace to only buy books at her store from now on, and Amy is already planning the christmas gift she needs to pack for Maya and her daddy.
- it would be a nice, supportive friendship of equals, and a good help in their single parent life, if it wasn’t for the fact that Jake realised about three playdates in that he was falling for Amy faster than a shooting star. It took her a little longer, but realisation hit when she was packing Mac’s lunchbox, her own lunchbox, and Maya’s lunchbox too after a sleepover, and subconsciously already wanted to bag up a fourth set of sandwiches with some gummy bears and a soda thrown in for good measure.
- Rosa tells him to ‘grow a pair and ask her out, she sounds perfect for both you and Maya’ when Jake confides in her. And that is rare praise coming from Diaz, because no one is good enough for Maya in her eyes, sometimes not even Jake himself. But he can’t take advantage of Amy’s friendship like that, not when it risks losing both her and Mac for Maya... and there is always the underlying fear that Maya will bond with a new woman in her life and be left behind yet again if they don’t work out, just like with her mom, whose biggest contribution to her life since the divorce has been the alimony payments each month.
- Kylie, meanwhile, warns Amy not to risk too much when she confides in her. She sadly remembers the many days she had to spend at her friend-coworker’s side after the funeral, cleaning out half of a closet and half of a shared home, basically. She’d been hoping that Amy would find love again, maybe in a few years time, but when she heard the news about her ‘great new friend’ being a detective himself, her heart dropped because she knew what that might be heading towards, and Amy very much shares her fears. She’d vowed to an absolute ‘no cops’ rule for her planned restart of dating in two years, perfectly scheduled with Mac’s start of school.
- as it is, both of them dance around their emotions in a perfectly synchronised waltz while still getting closer and closer as friends and parents, to the point that the daycare workers don’t even bat an eye anymore when Amy brings both Mac and Maya in, or when Jake picks both of them up into his arms with an excited ‘ready for ice cream and games?!’ before they meet up with Amy for a Coney Island afternoon.
- until one day, when the daycare offers a ‘star gazing sleep over’ event after the story of the stars and night sky was the theme of the week, and it falls right on the day Amy and Jake were planning to take the kids to a movie. “We could still go.” Jake mumbles while Maya runs into the daycare center, not shy at all anymore, and Mac follows her. “You want to go see Paddington’s Big Adventure... without the kids?” Amy jokes, but he looks so serious. “No, of course not, but I mean - we - uh - we both got the evening off now, don’t we? I told my captain I won’t be in no matter what. Seems like a waste of time just going home. We could see that period drama you talked about, that will definitely get an Oscar?”
- Amy hesitates only for a second, but they do go. They watch the drama that Jake has to admit is pretty damn good for a movie where nothing explodes or is set on fire, and that praise does not only come from the fact that Amy grabbed his hand with a gasp during a particularly emotional scene, and then kind of forgot to let go afterwards.
- but then the movie ends and Jake still doesn’t want to go home. Neither does Amy, apparently, because she offers up an ‘amazing 24h diner’ around the corner for some late night snacks, during which they laugh and flick chocolate chips at each other and end up blushing like mad when the waitress comments on what a ‘cute couple’ they are.
- he walks her to her front door, and they both kinda don’t know what to do as they say goodbye, because this kind of date night should usually end on a kiss, but it wasn’t really a date, was it, they would’ve taken the kids along if it hadn’t been for the day care event, and-
- “Ames, I’m - this is terrifying, but I think I’ll hate myself even more for not ever saying anything - and, and, I kind of, maybe, I think you might also-” She takes his hand again, a lot softer than she did in the cinema. “I think this is the kind of talk that needs a coffee and a good couch.”
- That’s how they end up at her place that Jake already knows so well from bringing Maya over, from the perfectly styled bookcases down to the absolute mess of a playroom that is Mac’s kingdom. They both grip their coffee cups tightly as they talk it all out, about what they’re afraid of, what they would risk if they gave ‘them’ a try.
- “I wouldn’t ever want to put Mac through losing another cop-dad even if it wasn’t from work, and I won’t let Maya lose another mom.” “Me neither. And I promised Mac I’d never forget his papa, but... I can clearly see him love his new daddy, too. He already looks up to you so much. He wants a flannel shirt for christmas.” “Maya introduced you as Mama Amy to one of my aunties. Which was quite a thing to explain.” Amy laughs, and then smiles at him, and his heart does that thing again, like it has been doing for months now, but this time he doesn’t beat it down. This time he lets it lead him to lean in for the most careful kiss, a kiss that Amy gladly returns, just as carefully.
- they agree to take things slow, be mindful, not drop it on the kids immediately or rush into things from the pressure of friends or family.
- and then three months later Amy finds the perfect apartment for the four of them, and Jake aks Gina and Rosa for ring preferences and proposal tips, and ‘slow and mindful’ has flown out the window the second Maya brought home a picture she did with Mac at daycare showing their little ‘family’ before Amy or Jake had even talked to them about their possible dating.
- Maya grows up with her Mama teaching her Spanish along with Auntie Rosa, and an abuela and abuelo who love to spoil her with Cuban sweets just as much as her big brother. Mac gets to ride along in his Daddy’s police car sometimes, and hears stories about his brave Papa from his colleagues. His auntie Gina is so proud of him for taking care of his little sister the way she took care of her little brother too. And Jake gets to see Amy smile all the time now, and knows it’s him and their kids that is making her smile so much.

Alright requests open yay um I’m requesting this on different blogs so I’m just curious of how other people will write the how about for a headcannon or fic idk ;-; Vlad x pregnant MC or dazai ( ikemenvampire )
Hi love! Thanks for the request❤️
I’m so soft for dad headcannons so I hope you like it! (I may have gotten a bit carried away with this😂)
Tagging: @ikemenvmpire @nafeary @aurora-morning @yanderepuck @delicateikemenmemes
Vlad would be the most protective dad. When you told him you were pregnant, he was overjoyed and would immediately become much more protective over you. He feels so blessed to have you in his life and now he’s going to have a child too? A dream.
He threatens Faust and Charles and tells them to be your doctors for the duration of your pregnancy. (Faust is also the one who delivered the baby and he hated every second of it).
Charles however, assures you that everything will go smoothly and they won’t let anything happen to you. You have nothing to worry about in Vlad’s care.
Vlad would create a new wing in his castle just for the baby, with toys and multiple play rooms. He is going to give your baby anything they could possibly want. (He’s going to spoil them even more than Marshmellow.)
Speaking of Marshmellow, she becomes just as protective as Vlad. If Vlad isn’t around and you have a headache or you’re sore, she’ll nudge you into bed and cuddle you till you fall asleep.
He gives you constant attention and brings you new flower bouquets every day when he comes home from his flower shop. Your room is constantly full of flowers and other gifts.
He will go along with all your mood swings and cravings. If you are craving a certain food he will make it and take you out on a picnic and a romantic walk by the river. He’ll also happily make you strawberry flavored dessert, even if you ask him in the middle of the night.
At night he kisses your stomach and tells the baby stories from when he was a king and how you and him met and fell in love. After all that child is his heir and they should know exactly who their parents are.
One day while you two are out on one of your picnics, Vlad brings up the idea of baby names. He tells you how he felt the first time you met and how he wants to name the baby after the first flower he gave you after you got together.
In the later stages of your pregnancy, he will not let you do any work. You’ll be pampered 24/7. Feeling stressed? He will kiss and cuddle you in bed till you feel better. Sore? He will give you the best foot/ full body massage you’ve ever had. Bored? He’ll take you out on a romantic date to someplace you’ve never seen before.
He internally panics when you go into labor during one of your outings to Faust’s church. Though he stays calm on the outside for your sake. Faust was the closest doctor around at the moment so he had no choice but to deliver the baby. Vlad was holding you up praying that both of you safely make it through the delivery.
His soul nearly left his body when he heard you scream in pain but Faust assured him that it was perfectly normal. He will tighten his hold on you and kiss your cheek, telling you how much he loves you and how well you’re doing and how the pain is going to be over soon and you’ll be able to hold your baby in your arms. (Though he was partially just reassuring himself.)
He is forever in awe of your strength in getting through that experience.
Vlad teared up when he got to hold her for the first time, seeing her little hand wrapped around one of his fingers. In that moment, he vowed to love and protect her with every fiber of his being. You and your daughter are the most precious things in his life.
Also, as much as Faust said he hated delivering a baby, his heart melted a little after seeing your daughter looking up at him with her big eyes full of love.
Vlad is so proud that his daughter has the same eyes as him and he calls her his little princess. He even gives her a tiara every year for her birthday with different flowers woven into it.
He is the most attentive dad and almost cried when she walked for the first time and fell into his arms while they were playing in the garden together.
Her first word was strawberry and he got so excited that he carried her around and showed everyone that she just spoke for the first time.
“Look at my talented daughter she just said strawberry!!! Strawberry!!”
(The first time she burped all over Vlad, Charles almost cried with laughter.)
She goes to school with other human children and sometimes goes to Napoleon and Isaac’s teaching sessions. (Vlad wants her to integrate with humans.)
Vlad also takes her to his flower shop and helps her create bouquets for you. (Her cuteness attracts plenty of customers so his coworkers are always happy to have her around.)
She grows up with a love for gardening just like her dad, and one of their favorite things to do together is bond over their love for flowers while running around in the garden together.
Vlad is also the reigning king of hide and seek and sometimes he will even organize scavenger hunts around the whole castle for his daughter. (Marshmellow, Louis, and Mephistopheles are her assistants.)
Uncle Charles absolutely loves playing with her, running around the castle carrying her on his shoulders, or letting her cuddle and play with Louis. Much to Faust’s disappoint, she develops his fashion sense after being around him so often. (She just likes the bright colors Faust let her breathe)
However she loves her Uncle Faust and always asks him to read to her. (He acts like he doesn’t care but he can never refuse her when she runs up to him with her little book. It doesn’t matter what he’s doing, he will take a break to spend time with her.)
Sometimes she walks into his lab while he’s doing research and begins asking him questions about every little thing in the room. He usually tries to tell her to leave but the objection dies in his throat when he looks at her. He ends up answering every question. (When Charles teases him about having such a soft spot for her, he claims he’s just “studying” her behavior. We all know the truth though)
She also develops Faust’s dry, sarcastic sense of humor, and he secretly loves her commentary about everyone when she comes to tell him about her day.
She loves playing with Marshmellow and they will often take naps together. (Marshmellow’s fur is her favorite blanket)
Once she is old enough to run, Vlad starts teaching her fencing and self defense because “a princess must be able to protect her kingdom”. Once she’s older, she starts sparring with Charles too.
Vlad is incredibly proud of her and demands everyone treat her with the same respect they give him. Together they are the most powerful father-daughter duo.
Overall he is the best, softest dad but he will not hesitate to cut some people if they disrespect his family.

relationships outside of sm
JENNIE + LIAN: JENLI
so iconic omg like how they do it, i have no idea
they hang out all the time and lian is literally ALWAYS on jennie’s instagram
the two of them once had an instagram story conversation over pigtails
like,, jennie posted a picture of lian’s pigtails for that one bicycle performance on her story and captioned it “pigtail baby” and then lian reposted it on her own story with a picture of jennie’s pigtails, captioning it “pigtail eomma”
speaking of eomma, jennie is genuinely her mother
jennie takes her shopping all the time
and in return, lian buys her food
the interactions these two used to have at award shows were SO CUTE
everyone remembers when jennie pretty much yelled out lian’s name and she just came running over to the members of blackpink after taeyong let her leave :(
i’m crying just thinking about it help
jennie also posted a full on instagram post for lian on her birthday and had such a sweet caption with it
it was something like “my daughter is finally 21 today! i hope she has an amazing day and i can’t wait to see her later tonight to give her a gift :) haneullie, lots of love from jennie eomma”
SPEAKING OF THE GIFT,, jennie bought her a whole ass $9000 necklace from chanel because she knew that lian was looking for more
IM IN TEARS AND SO ARE YOU ADMIT IT RN
jenli kpop bestest duo
dispatch once thought jennie was on a date with a girl but it turned out to just be her walking lian home after going shopping with her so they never posted anything about it
they were embarrassed they got something wrong so i get it
omfg when news came out that lian and jinwoo broke up mama jennie was threatening to punch the shit out of him
KEVIN + LIAN: LIMOON
what i’ve been waiting to write for so long okay here we go
so mf chaotic like there are compilations made of these two that scream “go crazy go stupid”
their time as guest mc’s for inkigayo was probably some of the best kpop content we’d gotten in a long ass time
KEVIN IS CAUTIOUS WHEN LETTING HER MEET HIS MEMBERS
cause she’s such a good friend to him and wtf why would he wanna share
“mine mine mine mine” constant dory vibes 24/7
lian thrives off of calling him by his korean name because she knows it annoys him
he’s constantly teasing her for having bagged milk in toronto so he deserves it
the one time lian and jacob talked to each other they seemed to be getting along too much for kevin’s liking so he really went:
“okay lian isn’t it time for you to go” because he WAS GETTING JEALOUSJCLSJX
their styles are pretty much complete opposites and everytime they take pictures together kevin never forgets to mention how off it all looks
“tf is that why are your clothes so boring”
“okay sNaKe pAnTs” because of that one eric moment on kpop daebak show where he said kevin had pants with snakes on them
ALSO BTW LIANS CLOTHES ARENT FUCKING BORING SHES JUST FANCY LIKE THAT
i’m getting heated let me calm down.
they normally speak in english to each other but since lian seems to be stuttering over her words when she isn’t speaking korean, he mixes in a few korean phrases every now and then to help her out
kevin is arguably the most hype every single time lian performs, like he really thinks there isn’t anything better
LIAN MAKES SURE TO UPDATE HER INSTAGRAM STORY WHENEVER TBZ HAVE A COMEBACK SO NCTZENS GO SUPPORT THEM
LIA + LIAN: LILIA
more lian x the canadian line WOOHOO
lia spent her trainee days really looking up to lian and she’s even mentioned before that she’d love for itzy to get the chance to collab with her for a song
she really has her fingers crossed for that btw
they actually met during an award show when ryujin, chaeryeong and yuna all had to leave because it was past curfew
lian decided to sit next to them and during all the intermissions between performances she, lia and yeji conversed to pass time
they ended up growing a friendship together but lian has a stronger bond with lia
she loves all the girls either way but yk
lia and lian love going to cafes together and taking adorable pictures :(
like whenever lia posts on itzy’s instagram midzeys don’t exactly know whether or not lian would be on it too :0
like lian normally posts all the scenery pictures she gets to keep her instagram pleasing whereas lia posts the pictures the two of them take together
my heart </3
lian treats lia like a whole daughter because it isn’t often she finds girls that are younger than her
*screams in the fact that majority of sm’s female artists are all from 2015 and under*
like when i say lian SPOILS her i’m not joking
she will randomly call lia up like:
“hey i’m gonna get you out of that dungeon, come get some chicken with me”
and then they’ll just hang out together
but only if lian is out of the dungeon herself because wbk she ain’t treated very well </3
EUNWOO + LIAN: WOOLI
their chemistry is fucking insane holy shit
like their acting for past to present was seriously so praised, netizens found it hard to believe it was all just for the show
dating rumours follow these two everywhere,, like everywhere
it’s one of the most popular ships inside ncity when it comes to lian and other idols
i kid you not one tweet said “chanhyeok treated jihye so well in past to present, i’m only wondering how well eunwoo would treat lian 👀”
LIKE STOP PUTTING IDEAS INTO PEOPLES HEADS YOURE KILING ME HERE ISTG
but yeah they do look really good together
and they’re an amazing pair for acting
when eunwoo started working with inyeop for true beauty, he said:
“hyung’s dating my girlfriend” because of the fact that both of them have acted with lian and BOTH of them dated her in the dramas
what a coincidence though
we all cried when we saw chanhyeok and jihye kiss for the first time DONT LIE
EUNWOO FOLLOWS HER ON INSTAGRAM
and they wished each other happy birthday on their instagram stories
there’s actually people who like to think that they dated while filming for past to present andddd they radiate big delulu vibes
like you know liskook shippers? wooli shipped are kinda the same, but not as intense (thank god)
BUT CAN WE BLAME THEM LIKE THEIR CHEMISTRY? THE WAY THEY TALKED TO EACH OTHER? PLEASE
they took a lot of cute pictures together behind the scenes (ノ﹏ヽ)
MOMO + LIAN: LIMO
DANCER DUO DANCER DUO
this ship isn’t actually as popular as we would like it to be, but nonetheless people love limo
a lot of interactions during award shows !!
like for example momo’s fancams always captured her dancing perfectly to lian’s choreo
and lian smiling in momo’s direction
i love them
when lian found out about heechul and momo’s relationship, she asked momo if she was her mom now because of how much of a father figure she considers heechul to be JDFJK
“i mean sure”
they’ve actually done a vlive together before (ᗒᗨᗕ)
it was when lian visited her at the twice dorms and they ended up getting bored so they decided to do a vlive in the living room
THEY PLAYED DARE OR DARE AND LIAN HAD TO DO THE TEARS CHALLENGE (so chan whee) ON MOMOS KARAOKE MACHINE
her throat was dry for the rest of the night
after seeing momo’s hair for the i can’t stop me era, lian actually wanted to cut it like that
but she decided against it because she loves her long hair too much
the two of them met on hit the stage where they competed against each other in a freestyle dance battle
after that they just started casually talking over the phone and became great friends
with the way momo talks about lian, you’d think they’re dating-
“oh, lian- she’s so pretty! i love her a lot!”
and the same goes for lian, she loves talking about momo’s dancing skills
JACKSON + LIAN: JACKLIAN
her dad :/
adopted her with amber liu like a year ago so now she’s just his daughter
supports each other like crazy not even joking
jackson promotes her on instagram and twitter 24/7
THEY HAVE SO MANY INTERACTIONS THANK GOD
lian was once given a ridiculously short dress while attending an award show and jackson gave her his jacket to wear over her legs because she wasn’t provided a blanket :(
(keep in mind, she went there without the members!)
lian added all his music to her playlist :)
once got drunk together and spent like three hours doing karaoke but it’s okay cause it was fun
speaking of getting drunk, jackson’s the cool dad that lets her do whatever she wants
he has his protective moments where he’s like “ma’am where are you going on that short of a dress” but he’s also like “hey wanna go get chicken and soju”
they both appeared on a radio show together as guests and they ruined the whole broadcast because they were too loud
like they kept getting out of their seats to go wave at all the fans outside the window and they were just fighting back and forth about whether or not lian’s extensions look real
according to jackson, they’re “NOT AUTHENTIC ENOUGH- LOVE YOUR HAIR FOR WHAT IT IS, LIANNA HANEUL BAE.” lian’s hair lives matter :/
PLSSS WHEN HYOSEOP AND LIAN STARTED DATING- no
jackson was so proud that his good friend was smooching his other good friend but the protective dad instincts really kicked in
“break her heart and you die no cap”
was surprisingly chill when they broke up though, he was just glad lian didn’t cry
SUNMI + LIAN: SUNLI
SUNMI IS HER MOM OHMYGOD
so many interactions
honestly took lian under wing once she debuted as a soloist
female kpop soloists gotta have each other’s backs in this industry man :(
sunmi calls lian her princess SOBS
lian always hugs sunmi at award shows, like if they’re sitting close together
or if they’re standing next to each other on stage
you bet your ass lian is gripping onto sunmi for dear life
did a photoshoot together for marie claire korea
they’re so hot bro
BUT THEY FIRST MET ON WEEKLY IDOL NOT LONG AFTER LIAN DEBUTED AS A SOLOIST
they were kinda awkward ngl uh
but by the end of it they were besties :DD
and they’ve been besties ever since
lian is the ceo of doing dance covers for sunmi’s songs
cmon lian we’re waiting for tail 👀
sunmi has actually met lian’s grandma </3
like her and lian were hanging out at the dorms while the boys were out on a schedule and her grandma just randomly showed up with homemade food so that was definitely a win
BANG CHAN + LIAN: LICHAN
they’ve been friends for a LOOONGGG time
and chain’s known her since dating back to like, smrookies era when lian was still a red velvet member
like at that time she had no idea he existed, but he was keeping up with her daily :(
chan plays her music on vlives all the time and he always knows the dance moves
like he just dances along in his chair and mumbles the lyrics
we love to see it
a lot of fans ship them together
SURPRISE SURPRSIE AH
only because chan gives off big pining energy
lian only looks at him like “:D” whereas he looks at her like “♡•♡”
kinda sad but
lian promotes him on live so often HVKSVU
“my friend chan is coming back with his group soon, you should check it out! :)”
and the way she just says “my friend chan” LIKE ITS SO OBVIOUSLY A FRIENDZONE BUT HE THINKS ITS ADORABLE
he once got a comment on a vlive to react to lian moments, obviously complying because who wouldn’t
there was this one clip of her saying “my friend chan from stay kids!” and whoever edited the compilation added in squishy noises right after while zooming in on her face
AND CHAN BLUSHED SO HARD NOO
“oh- hahaha, uhh, she’s so cute aw hahahah”
ASHLEY + LIAN: ASHLI
oh god not another lian x mom ship
ASHLEY LOVES LIAN WOAH
like she’s submitted lian’s resume to bm so many times so they could be part of the big tiddie committee together
ashley is constantly, and i mean constantly, reposting all of lian’s posts on her story with captions like “LOOK AT HER GO”
and lian has even discovered all the cool instagram filters because of ashley, and now we get the quality content from her that WE DESERVEEEEE
back when lian’s album came out, all ashley’s story really was was just screenshots of her streaming all the songs and calling them bops
when they first met in person after texting back in forth, ashley spammed her instagram story with pictures of lian that she took without her looking
these two radiate a lot of “YES GIRL WORKKK ITTT TURN THIS WAY OKAYYY POSE POSE POSE” energy
lian’s been featured in one of ashley’s youtube videos and it was when they met for the first time :)
they exchange a lot of gifts through the mail
like lian once found a mug when shopping with doyoung and she thought that it would fit ashley’s taste so she sent it to her apartment
and ever since then they just send random little gifts to each other’s houses
it’s so cute
MATCHING BUCKET HATS THEY HAVE MATCHING BUCKET HATS !!!!!!
ashley talks about lian all the time
she always says that for someone so young, she’s accomplished a lot and she’s really proud of her
they wanna do tiktoks with each other but they never have the time </3
lian spam comments on ashley’s instagram like “WOAH” “OKAYYYY” “YESYESYES”

Rebecca Anne Shelby
- Born in December 1908, making her about 11 months younger than Finn
- Nobody really calls her Rebecca, unless she's in trouble, mostly it's Becca. Though her family also uses Becky, Bec, and Becs.
- Arthur is the only one to call her Becky-Anne.
- She has pretty good relationships with all of her siblings, but she's probably the closest with John and Finn.
- Finn doesn't even try to hide the fact he's so jealous that she can get away with almost anything when it comes to their older brothers. All Becca really ever has to do is look a little sad and dejected while she apologises, and the most fearsome men in Birmingham crumble like cheap plaster.
- Of course, Becca is always quick to reminder her brother when ever he starts sulking that he is basically free to come and go at his own discretion. Unlike her who isn't even allowed to leave the house without one of them with her. Or, on very rare occasions, Isaiah.
- Unlike most of her family, Becca has stayed in school, and is even considering the idea of going to college.
- Provided she can swing Tommy on the idea... though that shouldn't be too hard of a sell considering how hard all of her siblings have pushed to keep her in school.
- Mostly though, she's hoping to leverage a higher education into a reason for her brother to finally relent and let her into the family business. Even if it's just the legal side.
- She has a natural gift for music, and has been an excellent singer since she was little.
- Arthur was the one who bought her, her first violin, and with some teaching she got the hang of it pretty fast.
- Of course she was taught with classical pieces, and there's a few that she likes and even enjoys playing... but she truly loves the more folksy style music.
- Esme and Johnny Dogs absolutely were not the ones to teach her those songs. Not at all.
- Polly just rolls her eyes and smiles fondly when Tommy tries to complain
"It's in her blood as much as horses are in your Thomas."
-*-*-*-*-*-
Relationships:
Tommy:
- If there was anyone in Becca's life that could be considered her father figure, it's Tommy.
- At all of 18 years old, Tommy took on the majority of the responsibilities of raising Becca when their mother passed.
- He's the one who taught her how to walk and talk, and read and write. As well as the things like how to tie her shoes, ride a horse, and even helping with her homework when need be.
- Not that Thomas Shelby would ever admit it outloud, to anybody, but Becca's had him wrapped around her little finger from day one.
- Of course the family and anybody who actually knows Tommy already knows this, because the man really is absolute shit at hiding it.
Arthur:
- Arthur has always been Becca's protector.
- It doesn't matter what she gets up to or what kind of trouble she finds herself in. Whenever she needs him, Arthur has always been there to catch her.
- He's always quick to jump to her defense, and Becca knows she can go to him with anything.
- Out of everyone, Arthur spoils her the most.
- When she was little, Becca developed the habit of falling asleep in her brothers laps when she would stay up late with them. Once she started getting bigger, Tommy and John would wake her up and send her to bed, but it doesn't matter how old she is, Arthur still carries her to bed at the end of the night.
John:
- If Arthur is her protector, and Tommy is her father figure, then John's role has to be Becca's best friend.
- While the whole family treats her as something special that needs protecting and looking after, John's always had a more laxed, gentle approach to how he goes about it.
- He keeps her out of trouble by keeping her close, and he keeps her close by making her want to be there.
- The two tease and torment eachother to no end, which more often than not ends up in them chasing eachother, or rolling around in the ground play fighting.
- Easily the most physically affectionate siblings in the family.
Ada:
- As the only two girls, Ada and Becca have always shared a special bond.
- They're sisters, so of course they fight and pick at eachother like nobody's business, but that can flip on a dime, and they become an absolutely terrifying united front.
- Especially against their brothers.
- Honestly, most of the family consider themselves extremely lucky that Becca isn't nearly as confrontational as Ada can be, other wise they could very well be over run.
Finn:
- These two have been partners in crime their entire lives.
- They actually make quite the terrifying duo when left alone for any great length of time. They absolutely will find something to get up to.
- They also have their own notoriously united front, and have absolutely covered for eachother so seamlessly that the rest of their family was none the wiser.
- When confronted about it, the excuse was that there's such a big age gap between them and the rest of the family, and sometimes you've just got to stick together if you want any hope of being taken seriously.
Polly:
- God bless Polly Gray, she really did try with all of her nieces and nephews.
- Becca is probably the one she's had the most success with... At least Becca is the one to actually listen more often than not, and gives her the least amount of worry.
- Quite literally the mother Becca never got to have, the bond between the two is unshakable.
- Along with the mother-daughter-esque bond, Polly and Becca also have a shared love discussing how taxing and grating their family can be (read: They really, really like to talk shit about everyone when they're being dumb.)
Michael:
- Becca and Michael have a bit of a love/hate relationship.
- Very similar to her and John, Becca and Michael bicker and pick at eachother at any given opportunity.
- Unlike her and John however, the two of them have a tendency to escalate in to real fights
- Like actual, no holds bared screaming matches, with insults being thrown around like water. And the occasional object.
- That's usually the time the rest of the family will intervene lest one of them actually maim the other.
- They'll usually go a couple days without so much as acknowledging the others existence after that while the wait for the dust to settle.
- Even if they're not talking, they still won't hesitate to come to the others defense - Family is still family, even if they're stupid.
- One notable occasion, Michael completely dislocated a man's jaw who couldn't figure out how to keep his hands to himself, only to go right back to ignoring Becca once he was sure she was alright.

BTHB: Handcuffed
Psych
@badthingshappenbingo
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the name of the father, my Colt 1911 and the universal hatred of hippies, I will not strangle Spencer with these cuffs….
"Psst...Lassie?"
We will get rescued and then he'll go back to San Francisco with O'Hara….
"Lassito? Can you scratch my back?"
And I will get a reward from the Mayor for self-control…
"Laaaaaasssie, please? Can't reach it- Hey! Do you ever use your cane as a back scratcher?"
"SPENCER!" Lassiter hisses loud enough for the bearded well, hippie guarding the arid decrepit living room to hear. The Police Chief scowls at the blank eyes of the guard and waits for the man to turn back to whatever the hell he'd been doing.
What fresh hell is this- he had told O'Hara that a fishing trip alone with Shawn wasn't going to end well. But then Marlowe had joined with O'Hara's puppy dog eyes and-
"What?" Shawn replies with the irritating casualness one isn't supposed to have while handcuffed back to back.
And also after being kidnapped.
Lassiter lowers his voice down to a loud whisper, "What did I tell you?"
"When Ron and his friends took us from the boat?"
Of course Spencer would figure out their captors name.
"How in God's name do you know that..man's name?" Lassiter asks, already prepared for the idiotic performance sure to follow. In the briefest of moments, Lassiter's heart lifts at the delay in response from Shawn and the beautiful possibility of a semi-mature response.
"'Cause I'm psychic."
Idiot.
Ron lumbers over from his near hour long guard at the door and sneers heavily, "You two needa shut up."
"Kidnapping a Police Chief and a civilian-"
"Psychic," Shawn interrupts because, of course.
Lassiter rolls his eyes and continues glaring at Ron. "Is making things worse. And a hippie like you, destroying this-"
Shawn wiggles in his spot and somehow manages not to irritate Lassiter's injured arm. He dramatically tsks and states," Look, Ron, my good man, as we had tried to tell you while we were on our boat before you swooped in and took us, we are just two men doing manly fishing ...manly...ly."
Lassiter sighs and quickly weighs the pros and cons of persuading Ron to duct tape Shawn's mouth shut. No, they were two men , forced by a pregnant detective and her puppy eyes to "bond".
"Wai, you's kinda young to be a puh-lees chief," Ron says, cocking his head to the right like a German Shepard. Normally, Carlton Lassiter would tear into Ron head to toe for well, everything, but it's the man's current attention that leaves Lassiter well, speechless.
Attention directed solely on Shawn.
Shawn chuckles, not even attempting to stifle down his delight at Ron's comment. "As much as I am delighted at the compliment, alas, I am not the Police Chief in this dynamic duo. No, I am Shawn Spencer, Master and commander of Psychfransico in beautiful San Francisco. This silver haired fox is my idol and Police Chief of Santa Barbara, Carlton Lassiter. "
Ron naively scoffs at Lassiter and chuckles, "You 'ain't a Police Chief. You look like his Daddy."
The squeal of delight from Spencer- is it possible to double the mortification he's already drowning in?
"Stooop," Shawn replies with giddy shyness. "I'd shake your hand , good man, if I could. Speaking of hands, I know you and your merry man of kidnappers-"
"Ya'll went on our land and we can't have that," Ron counters.
Lassiter blinks out of his daze of mortification and snorts at the happy conversing between Ron and Shawn.
How cute.
"Can you two stop sharing your feelings and get back to the fact that you and your little pals kidnapped a Police Chief-"
"And psychic!"
"Spencer, I swear to God-"
"What? Accuracy is important!"
"STOP!!" Ron bellows before staggering back to the counter. The over dramatic fall is one of the many reasons he had taken Lilly to a small gathering of hippies banging drums and reviewed in great details the detrimental behaviors of tree huggers.
A great activity for a four year old, despite Marlowe's eye roll.
"Are you really a Police Chief?" Ron blubbers. Lassiter groans and opens his mouth for another smarmy comment. Unfortunately, the motormouth champion of the West Coast beats him to it.
"He is. One of the best in the west. Just like I am and my psychic skill. Just how I predict that you make that right move and let me and the man who sleeps with two pistols in his bedside go."
It's three- one in the dresser, one under the pillow and one in the ejection slot on the bed frame, Lassiter thinks before the non- irritable side of him sparks a thoughtful observation.
Has Spencer been giving me compliments this whole time?
Ron opens his mouth and gawks momentarily at Lassiter before clumsily turning and lumbering out the door. Shawn sighs louder than necessary and then comments, "He seems nice."
"Do you two want a room to braid each other's hair," Lassiter growls with increasing volume," AND MAKE FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS?"
"Gus and I did that last week," Shawn replies calmly," the friendship bracelets, I mean." He leans towards the wall, humming softly, before pressing a small sharp object against Lassiter's wrist. "I was going to just cut us free instead."
Lassiter Scrunches his nose and imagines his Lilly and his Marlowe smiling back at him and how he'd miss them dearly if he would be arrested for strangling Spencer. "You had a sharp object this entire time?"
"No. I found it but didn't want to use it with our main man Ron in the room,” Shawn states. Lassiter can feel Shawn’s hands fidgeting with the handcuffs. The Police Chief lets out a frustrated humph as Shawn continues to work before the glorious sound of a click from the handcuffs.
“Lassie, can I ask you a question?”
"No."
"No, seriously."
He'd bang his head against the wall if he could. Lassiter inhales and exhales slowly, knowing full well that Spencer could and would keep this game up if he wanted to. "Fine," he says slowly, "What?"
"How do you be a good father?"
Oh.
Oh.
The pain in the ass, the bane of his existence, the-
The handcuffs click and the cold metal around Lassiter's wrist drop to the ground. "Hold on," Shawn mutters as he continues to fidget with his own cuffs until they also drop to the ground. Shawn turns around and repeats his earlier question, "So yeah, how do you be a good father?"
Turning on the floor to face Shawn would take an awkward, frustrating set of movements so Lassiter stays back to back with Shawn. "Is that why you asked me to go fishing?"
Shawn grunts as he rolls onto his hands and then pushes himself up onto his knees. He shrugs and admits, “Me and my dad aren’t- well, we butt heads. With Jules being eight months pregnant, she figured out that I wanted to talk to you but-”
“Spencer, “ Lassiter hisses, softening his expression at the look in Shawn’s eyes. Is that puppy eyes? “How about this? We get out of here, I shoot some hippies and then I’ll give you six minutes.. and forty five seconds to ask me questions about fatherhood.”
Just as his daughter, Shawn perks up and grins as if just being told about a trip to the ice cream store. He stands and helps lift Lassiter to his feet. “There are six doors- two on the left and four on the right. We went down two flights of stairs with eight steps on each,” Shawn rambles, “and….when we were blindfolded in the back of the jeep, we took three left turns and a right turn from the boat.”
In normal times, especially back in the days when Shawn and Gus were causing chaos in Santa Barbara, Carlton Lassiter would scowl and walk away from the idiotic smile on Shawn’s face with Juliet on his heels. Right now, as he’s aggravated for being kidnapped, hungry and really wishing Marlowe hadn’t talked him into taking one pistol with him instead of his usual three, there is a small part of him that he will never outwardly admit that is a bit impressed and proud of Spencer.
A very, very small part of him. A minute size part of him.
“Ready?” Shawn asks as he pulls Lassiter’s uninjured arm over his shoulder for support.
Lassiter nods, thinking- Ready.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Escaping comes way too easy.
Lassiter isn’t the least surprised to find only two of the six men that had surrounded them on the boat sitting in the room at the top of the stairs. He really isn’t surprised when Shawn manages to sow doubt in Ron’s mind long enough to give Lassiter the chance to grab the closest item and whip it across the room and clock the second man in the back of the head.
After calling for assistance, arresting Ron and his unconscious friend and threatening the two arriving SBPD officers with hell if they even think about saying a word, Lassiter stands in front of a police vehicle, watching Shawn talk animatedly to Juliet O’Hara on the phone. The same small part of him that was impressed by Shawn triggers a faint smile on the Police Chief’s face.
“I’ll be home soon. Yep…..tell Gus that he can breathe…..I love you too….kiss the belly for me. Ok, bye!” Shawn exclaims happily. He pockets his phone and tries to calmly cross the lot to Lassiter. Lassiter can feel the excited energy bouncing off the younger man as he asks quietly, “So…..how can I be a good father to my little girl? Like you are?”
Good lord. Lassiter sighs and replies, “You’ll be fine, Spencer, but ask any question you want.”
“For six minutes and forty five seconds?”
He’ll regret this dearly. “I will open it up to ten minutes-” he holds up a hand as Shawn’s eyes widen with excitement, “-don’t make me regret this.”

So I just found your platonic teenage MC and Leonardo post and I absolutely adore it OMG 🥺, the way you wrote Leonardo as a father figure was so great! Could I maybe request some general headcanons for this adoptive father daughter duo?
First of all Anon thank you so much for telling me that, it means a lot to me to know you liked that scenario <3
Secondly, you absolutely may request general headcanons! I hope you like them as much as the other platonic piece! If there was anything specific you wanted that I didn’t mention you can always come back and ask again! (Also I’m really sorry if these aren’t what you were expecting or they’re not any good all together T_T )
PS, I also made these general enough that you could see the MC be either from the 19th century or the 21st while still keeping the main focus of what a father/daughter relationship with Leo is like (you’ll know what I mean once you read them - probably)
Something you need to know before reading - the scenario Anon mentioned has it where the MC is building a model w/ Leo so some points in this will be under the idea that she likes to build things too.
Under the cut cause it’s a little long!
~~~
General Adoptive Daughter!MC & Leonardo Relationship HCs
First and foremost, even if you’re adopted/staying for just a single month he will treat you like you’re his own flesh and blood. In his eyes you’re family no matter what (sorry I don’t make the rules)
But moving on-
He is such a relaxed dad
Sometimes you think he’s a little too relaxed...
Never gets mad at you either, there’s very few things that gets this man upset.
Like if you were to accidentally break something of his he’d just pat your head/shoulder and tell you that these things happen before going on his merry way
He’ll muss up your hair/pat your head a lot in general - it’s his way of showing affection
Supports whatever route in life you take, if it makes you happy go for it. Your life is so short, you should spend it doing what you love.
Like in the scenario mentioned at the beginning, Leonardo would definitely call you topolina or even passerotta - rarely ever calling you by name unless the situation called for a more serious note.
Leo teases you a lot too about anything he can. Your eyes linger on a particularly cute boy/girl/person? He’ll chuckle and lean down so only you’d be able to hear him and say something along the lines of “something catch your eye, topolina?”
Teaches you all he knows on any topic if you show even the slightest interest in it (or asks the other residents if he’s not that knowledgeable on it/feels they could teach it better than him)
Takes you out into town whenever he goes for work, both as a learning and bonding experience - dropping tips for building/fixing things that the books don’t tell you.
(Even if you’re not aspiring to be an architect/something along those lines he’ll still do the above point as sort of a life skill if you’re on your own and need to repair something.)
Also as another bonding activity he’d randomly show up at your door and be like “you wanna build a castle model???”
Moderately and spontaneously spoils you.
You’ll never know when something will catch his eye in a store that he thinks you might like, leading him to buy it for you.
On more than one occasion have you received something from him only to be left confused because he hands it to you so nonchalantly
You have to deal with him falling asleep all the time, especially while you guys are working on a model cause he likes to sit back and let you work on your own.
One time he fell asleep and ended up leaning onto you, crushing you under him. You were only able to get out and breath once again when Comte walked by and saw you in need.
Not the best at comforting but not the worst either. Somethings he knows exactly what to say (which is most of the time) and then there are the rare times he’s lost.
He may be the master of all trades but there are still going to be things that aren’t his forte!
By no means though will he not lend an ear and listen to any troubles you have - cause he will listen and give advice where he can
For some reason I feel like if he ever saw you roaming the mansion’s halls looking upset he’d sweep you up into his arms and hang you upside down as a way to try and make you laugh
I also think Leo is the kind of parent to watch from afar at times while still being close to you (if that makes sense).
He wants you to be able to rely on him while still not being smothered or feel like you have no freedom with him - something I think he felt a little with his own family.
Depending on if you’re from the 21st century or not but Leonardo would be sad when he’d have to say goodbye. Yes he could see you again but it’d be the pain of having to live another 200 years before he could.
Similarly if you’re from the 19th century he’d feel a twinge of sadness at seeing you grow up. It reminds him that you’re human and you could be taken away from him at any point.
Of course he’d protect you to the best of his ability, anything to keep you safe.
Leo wants you to live out your human life as long as possible, to experience the wonders of being alive. Something he doesn’t have and something he doesn’t want you to take for granted.
In somewhat relation to the above
REFUSES (and I can’t emphasize this enough) to turn you into a vampire
Would also kick Comte’s ass if he even suggested it to you
But on a more lighter note!
If you were to ever bring home a s/o he’d ask them a couple questions threaten them that if they hurt you they’re dead before teasing you about it
“Isn’t that the one you stared at on the street?”
“daaaAAD!!!” *combusts*
Also by default you’re close with Comte too (who also views you as a daughter)
Overall a very wholesome and laid back relationship is shared between you two :)
~~~
Again I’m really sorry if these aren’t that good - I’m still working on how to write headcanons since I usually write scenarios T_T
As of me posting this, requests are open [check my bio though to be sure]! Don’t forget to check the rules too for the fandoms/topics I write for (which are linked in my masterlist)!

Sasha’s Connections....
If Sasha had LIVED, as she had every right to and should have for the sake of this story, what among her many relationships do you think should have gotten far more emphasis and actual screentime?
Let’s touch on a few, shall we?
1) Her relationship with her father didn’t get much screentime but it was pretty well defined. And he owed far more to Sasha than to effectively pardon the very person who ripped her away from him. So that unfortunately taints what was one of the healthier family connections of the series. Gabi is not Artur’s daughter, SASHA IS.
2) These two were roommates? Let alone friends? You could’ve fooled me as Mikasa only ever looked out for her forbidden, the one she never really had any real shot at a future with. Sasha is the ONLY person I can casually ship with Mikasa without much issue as they in theory would make a great duo. Sasha’s lightheartedness and optimism counteracting Mikasa’s somewhat more jaded and reserved nature. But it is NEVER properly exploited. Making how Mikasa reacts to the events of season four feel hollow and superficial. And again, forgiving the person who took one of your closest friends away from you? Again, they spent almost a solid decade as comrades from training to the war with Marley. That closeness should’ve gotten a lot more focus but true to form, Isayama didn’t think it wise to legitimize plot points he specifically introduced. It would’ve helped Mikasa’s character immensely to see her interact with anybody else on the same level she did with Eren or Armin. Sasha could’ve been the perfect remedy.
3) Ymir certainly liked to take her cheap shots at Sasha, they may not have been best pals but there was enough to suggest the two could rib each other pretty casually and still get along begrudgingly. Ymir is perhaps the only other character far more screwed over than Sasha among the ones we did lose, and it would’ve been fun to see these two unlikely companions get along more. Especially since Ymir helped Sasha to evolve into a stronger person on her own terms, to a certain degree, by letting go of her self-consciousness. They were two of the most fascinating girls in the series, moreso than Mikasa, you can quote me on that too by the way. If it meant more of both Ymir and Sasha, then they both should’ve stayed put throwing shade at each other.
4) If you’re not at all perturbed by the fact that Sasha NEVER shared a scene with her own mother, there’s absolutely something wrong with you. No relationship, no insight into what kind of bond they shared, you’re telling me it’s okay to have Lisa hug the person who took away her daughter but not her actual daughter? Top contender for most offensive scene in season four, barring that fucking finale.
5) Gee, Sasha risks her life to save Kaya in what is undoubtedly her most badass moment of the entire show, the only one where she was squarely the main focus, and we never actually get to see the two of them as actual sisters. It’s all purely informed and thus, their connection is never properly explored aside from what Kaya tells us. I am NOT okay with this. Sure makes her trauma feel that much more forced for it after the events of season four. We absolutely deserved to see those two as an actual family. Imagine how meaningful that would’ve been, to see it instead of having it narrated to us.
They don’t even give the other kids adopted by the Brauses names, btw, people. Has anyone ever stopped to acknowledge this?
6) According to some sources, Hange was called “Glasses Sasha” by some fans due to their very similar appearance. We even have perhaps the only funny bit from anything in the timeskip where Hange tried to pass off the younger Sasha as her “Big Sis”. The idea of these two being pals is a very welcome idea. They do look similar and they’re both as I said, the true heart of the series, a position they both hold equal measures. Is such a potentially interesting friendship ever properly exploited? Hell, no. And that’s hard to get past.
7) What about EREN? One of Sasha’s oldest comrades who she supported from start to finish through all the hell they were put through? For such a friendship that SUPPOSEDLY influenced Eren profoundly in the timeskip, they had almost no meaningful one-on-ones. Again, because Isayama is basically M. Night Shyamalan: TELL, DON’T SHOW. I’m sorry, I’m not buying his reaction in that episode that must never be shown to human eyes again. Their relationship is far too underdeveloped for me to believe it had such a profound impact on Eren’s continuance of the Rumbling. If it had meant that much to him......I think we all know what he would’ve done without any hesitation. And after what we find out about his feelings about Mikasa.........It makes even less sense to believe he really cared as much as that breakdown might’ve implied.
Sad we never got Sasha’s reaction to Eren’s rampage. I think after a good cry, the girl would’ve flipped her shit that Eren betrayed all they fought for. It would’ve been a profound case of “I did not sign up for this!”
8) I’m sorry. Was I supposed to feel anything for this guy? Niccolo shared all of ONE FLASHBACK with Sasha, and this is supposed to constitute even an implied relationship?
Once again, Isayama is all TELL, DON’T SHOW.
NicoSasha is some of the fakest shipper fuel I’ve ever seen, and possibly the least credible pairing on a canon or fanon level. All we ever got of Sasha’s side of this implied relationship was that she loved his cooking. But not even Kaya knew for certain if any actual dating was going on between them. A pairing that has absolutely no shared screentime beyond one scene doesn’t have any business being played up as a major plot point, even with all the influence Sasha is stated to have had on Niccolo’s mindset. As I explained to a friend at length, Niccolo is nothing more than a plot device. What could’ve been if Isayama made any committed effort to make him feel like a three-dimensional character who had anything beyond an informed crush on Sasha.
Again, would’ve been interesting to see her reaction to the whole wine scheme.
9) Yes. I’ll be the one to say it. Gabi’s story might’ve been much more tolerable if she had never been the one to take Sasha out. If they didn’t insist on reducing Sasha to a bunch of unwarranted parallels between the two girls. Their story could’ve been so much more compelling if Sasha and Gabi had any proper interaction after Liberio, if Sasha was there in person to make Gabi see the light, there are so many ways this could’ve worked to the benefit of the story. Instead of making it easy to call out Gabi as a hollow replacement to a beloved character who just happened to possess the same combat skills.
That is the ONLY leniency I’m willing to give Gabi Braun, that if she and Sasha had properly interacted and if the story made room for them both, it could’ve worked to the benefit of both sides, instead of Isayama flagrantly catering to only one and in doing so, bringing up a fanatical faction within the fandom. The potential was there, and I’d have much rather gotten that version of the timeskip.
It hurts to love Sasha as much as I do, she deserves so much more and so did we. I will continue to stand up for her, and to call out both Isayama and his fans for the excuses they make for abusing the good elements of this series.
Somebody please make a #justiceforsasha tag, my fight here is far from over.
