you look up from your book you're reading and place your bookmark between the pages. a smile grew on your face as you nod, signaling leo to turn so his back faces you. he obliged and did as you said, he pulled his knees closer to his chest leaned his head onto his arms. hours pass by, the group has all been at the sea having a splash fight, then also played volleyball. now they wanted to have some snacks and drinks

and of course the group decided to pick you and leo to go get the snacks

you, oblivious to their intentions, started putting your flip flops on. as you weren't looking, leo shot a look at the smirking teenagers he calls his friends. piper and frank were showing thumbs up for support. while jason and percy gave him a knowing look. leo saw annabeth mouthing "now or never" to him.

"lee, you ready to go?"

he put his attention back on to you and nodded, heading to the corner shop with you next to him. he glanced back to his friends one last time, seeing them look at the pair walking off and cheering for leo, but silently of course, so you wouldn't suspect anything.

after you two have bought the snacks and drinks the friendgroup wanted, you head back to the beach.

leo noticed the group playing volleyball again, and used to opportunity to confess now. He stopped walking, standing at this area.

"hey, y/n. could we talk for a sec?"

you didn't think much of it and nodded, walking closer to where leo was standing.

then, his nervousness got the best of him and that boy just started rambling.

"so i just wanted to say that Iive liked you for REALLY long time. like a i like you A LOT and I really want to be together with you but i'm not sure if you feel the same and i really don't want to ruin this friendship. but i've never felt this way about anyone and–"

Hullo! As always love your blog and the service you're doing for the un-holy trinity bc there's not enough content about them and that's sad. I'm pretty sure you will know who this is but oh well, i guess I'm just shy to actually ask without the anon-thingy option. Today i come seeking advice for writing, if you can provide it, if not that's perfectly fine. You see I write for myself, a coping mechanism of sorts and when i got back to the fandom after so many years and got struck with teh Denali obsession i used to write The sisters/OC, but as I became more obsessed with Irina I changed the relationship because I found it easier, we all have our versions of the characters in the end so of course MY version of the sisters will be different from anybody else (perhaps), in my story Tanya and Kate are more carefree, Tanya being the msot responable one since she's the leader while Kate is more on the playful side meanwhile Irina is the most cuddly, loving, affectionate and needy of them, even clingy, especially emotionally (Once you've reached her heart ofc bc is hard to get tehre XD), I think this version of her turned like this because as I mentioned writing is a coping mechanism so it is what I kind of needed to feel better at the time if that makes any sense and now I struggle to write the three of them with MC again because no matter how hard I try I always feel like MC gravitates towards Irina, like magnets yk and I feel bad for the other two bc I feel is not fair XD ANYWAY I would like to ask, any advice on how to balance that? The attention they recieve, the way they itneract without each other without feeling as if the others are left out? because i am frustrated that i want to write them all and it doesn't feel idk, natural? Think about the different ways the sisters would react to that scenario, depending on their characteristics. Everything else builds on that.

E.g.: Celebrating MC´s birthday

Tanya: carefree yet responsible

did most of the organizing (responsible)

which...she will let MC know

receives lots of praise for it because it does look amazing

much to the annoyance (and jealousy) of her sisters (🙄🙄)

the first to give MC a present because she´s the leader (🙄🙄)

the present is a lingerie set (🙄🙄)

(which is really more a present for herself)

entirely chill about it (carefree) whilst MC´s turned as red as a lobster

will take that as her cue to get reallll close and whisper into MC´s ear how good she´s gonna look in that

That´s kinda how I would do it. Just get a feel for how they would react first. What makes them different from one another? What´s something that makes you go "ahh ye, that´s totally them"? Their interaction comes more naturally then because it will feel more natural.

- Cater once played this dress up game for fun (or to make some content out of it), got some HARSH constructive criticism, never played again (person who insulted gave him advice was idia)

- Weepy often puts wax on the hair in front of his face to keep it out of his eyes while performing. (totally not based on an oc x canon thing i thought of.)

- Mime Bomb often has makeup residue around his eyes, making him look more tired than he already is. He struggles to get it out and also doesnt see the point bcs 9 times out of 10 hes gonna be hopping on another flight anyway!!!!

- Idia is half filipino. dont try and change my mind YOU CANNOT

oh god you thought dateko was bad??? they were only stuck in the car for thirty minutes at MOST

(or something idk i haven't quite mapped out their geography yet but miyagi is a coastal prefecture and sendai isn't like SUPER far inland, so i'm just making assumptions out here)

but anyways. kurosu is driving obviously as much as he moans and groans about it

shoutout to the coaches btw they are CARRYING these headcanons

realistically i guess they'd road trip to another school for a training camp or like idk. maybe hot springs for some r&r bc inarizaki def has the budget for it but in my heart they road trip to suna's hometown during one of the breaks so suna can see his family <333

i guess it also kind of depends on WHERE in hyogo and aichi they are but we could get a solid 4-5 hours of driving if it was from, say, asago to tahara

kita makes a list of all the snacks everyone wants and rounds up aran, oomimi, and akagi to help him raid the market/convenience store like the old hunter-gatherer days

Do you agree that anyone that uses death of the author as argument shouldn't be arguing about a text? Because according to them all interpretations are valid so why argue against other people's interpretations?

I guess it's part of the duality of fandom life - people want to talk about the game are very involved in it, but they also create fun headcanons to explore said game's lore/setting/characters.

So in way, participating in fandom and even writing fanfiction, or saying stupid things like "hc : Nabateans attach a great importance to golden trinkets" is, in a way, pushing your own interpretation over the game's.

But at one point, it depends on what you want to argue about.

Argue about headcanon? Uh... it's like arguing about what topping you prefer on your ice cream. It's your ice cream, your tastes, so you can prefer chocolate cookies or peanuts and it's, you know, not open to discussion as in "talking with you made me realise peanuts are was tastier than chocolate chip cookies".

I like to talk and discuss and see other people's headcanons because it's fun and when some of ours match we can nerd about pointless things like warm rocks or nabatean laying eggs, but you won't see me being an ass and tell them "uh your headcanon sucks, you should put blue cheese on your ice cream".

Now, arguing about canon?

FE16 (and Fe Fodlan in general) is a game where the devs forgot to hire a continuity game and thought letting the world "vague" would make it look "deeper and richer" than it is. 10k years of lore, after all. And we have at least 2 unreliable narrators, that are Lords so who are protagonists and usually should be believed... expect that the game shows us they're full of nonsense regarding various topics.

But, unlike headcanon, canon isn't subjective, it's the same game (well... depending on the audio, it's not) everyone played, some people were kind enough to create a website where every line (+ dub!) is available, so it's not a question of interpretation as much as going to read and check the datamine website and the hundreds of YT videos, were people recorded their PT.

Was Burnie surrounded by flames, effectively preventing her escape from her pyre, or not?

Does Cyril mention to Mercedes how he only ate every couple of days before coming to the monastery (so under House Goneril's good care and in the Almyran army) or not?

Those things can be easily checked, and there's no interpretation.

If you don't like canon, you can churn out headcanon and have fun developing them, maybe finding people who like them and expend them themselves!

But for various reasons (is it because fanfiction has a bad rep since the 2000s for being something, idk, teenage girls write? or because it's not seen as very serious (tm) as a redshit post?) some people in the Fodlan fandom don't really want to confess they don't like the canon, and prefer the headcanon/fanfiction version of the game portrayed through a certain fic that, in turn, influenced how canon is perceived by some devoted fans.

(and let's not forget the lolcalisation that, too, didn't like the base game and edited it for ~ reasons ~)

And imo, Death of the author, in those fandom circles, is a roundabout way to say "the canon is not conclusive so i interpret the situation as this, but it's totes not my headcanon nor a fanfiction bcs i'm no gross fangirl, it's still canon, but my interpretation of the canon"

Tldr : Arguing about headcanon is as pointless and fruitless as starting a shipwar, and in the 2020s apparently it's too shameful to confess liking/writing fanfictions, so instead you like and write "your own interpretations of canon or how it should be" instead, using various theories like "Death of the Author" to validate your creative process, bcs fanfics gross'n'bad'n'only for lonely teenager girls, i guess.

whenever their schedules align and they're able to get together over the summer, they always try to make at least one trip to the beach!! wherever they are <3 (probably even when it's not summer too, but i'm going to keep these hcs summer specific since that's what you asked for!)

the first time they all went to the beach together, suga ended up with a really nasty sunburn because he wasn't applying his sunscreen often enough

now, iwaizumi is always on top of making sure everyone is applying enough sunscreen and reapplying it every couple hours

even when he wears suncreen, suga always ends up with a few new moles at the end of the day. and iwa gets freckles on his shoulders.

oikawa has the worst sock tan lines lmao. he loathes this. they are honestly dreadful.

suga loves tide pools!!! he really likes looking at the crabs. iwa likes watching the tiny fish. oikawa is not as into it but he'll watch with them anyway

he's also the one who eventually redirects them because if left to their own devices, suga and iwa would just spend hours watching the animals

they get invited to play beach volleyball with some people they run into and oikawa sort of forgets that he's not playing with other professional athletes and gets a little too into it

iwa tells him to dial it down but he also gets a little too into it when oikawa is setting for him. they treat this casual beach volleyball game like an Actual volleyball match. they play like they have something to lose

(suga gets a little too into it from the sidelines cheering them on when he's not playing)

As much as Matthias loves you, he is just so done with the both of you. He never expected to fall in love with two people at once, but now he had to deal with two reckless idiots at once. This was definitely not what he signed up for. (He still loved it though.)

Your wardrobe suddenly expanded by a lot once you started dating the two. You managed to simultaneously steal clothes from both their wardrobes, building whole outfits just out of their clothes.

“Good Morning Matthias! Good Morning Nina!”

“Good Morning, lov- Wait, is that one of my shirts?? Again??”

“Are these the pants and boots I’ve been looking for?”

Nina and you love braiding Matthias’s hair, once it has gotten long enough. Sometimes you even braid flowers into it, giving his nickname of “the big brooding sunflower” a completely different meaning.

You love being sandwiched between them whilst you are sleeping. However, all three of you like to sleep in different temperatures, making it harder to find the best position to sleep in, which is comfortable for everyone.

You normally use different nicknames for them, but there are just some go-to ones that you like to use for both of them. So when you’d accidentally use one of these whilst calling for one of them, you’d always hear both of their voices call back.

Matthias and Nina both tried to teach you Fjerdan - simultaneously and without talking about it though. Let’s just say, it didn’t really work out. Begrudgingly, Nina let Matthias be the sole teacher, and it worked out pretty nicely. Not great, but still.

Matthias fainted on a mission once, so you and Nina had to awkwardly shuffle-carry him back to the Slat.

The other Crows were slightly caught off guard by your dynamic, not being used to three people being in a relationship with each other. But they get around pretty quickly, skipping the steps of loving acceptance and moving on to platonic mockery.

Kaz especially likes to take light-hearted jabs at your relationship.

“There are three people in this relationship and none of you seems to have taken one intact brain cell with them.”

Matthias can’t dance, so you tried to teach him. Turns out that teaching somebody as brutishly big as Matthias to dance is quite the challenge, especially when he has to learn to dance with two people at the same time.

Eating together is a chore and a blessing. You all have different tastes, so cooking is much more work than it would normally be, but you get everything paid back when you can steal food from your partners’ plate.

Waffle dates are a must-have!!!

All of you worry that someone feels like a third wheel, so you try your best to make sure that that doesn’t happen.

Matthias likes to talk in his sleep. Loudly. Causing you and Nina to wake up every single time. Sometimes you just tough it out, but often, Nina hits him with a pillow, either causing him to wake up or to shut up.

"Matthias, if you don't quiet down immediately, I swear, I'm gonna smother you with this pillow!"

He got stuck in the MTV grunge scene, the dirty cardigans, t-shirts from bands, jeans and converse so ripped and wasted, and of course, flannel shirts. Owns a single blazer and dress pants for when it’s needed (since his college grad actually). More than that, it’s just  impossible to ask him to wear formal.

He also keeps an old plastic box to put all his bracelets and his piercings. No worries, he cleans them constantly although rarely wears them.

Pieck Finger

Don’t get me wrong on this one, I do beg for your forgiveness, but I really need to get it off from my chest: Pieck smokes weed. She just does. When cooking, while reading, during stressing mornings or the most pleasing nights. She just keeps close a blunt in case it’s needed.

She’s the queen of quartz, energy stones, esoterism and alternative medicine, even though no one can tell if she learned about those things ironically or as a completely serious matter. Oh, and tarot. No one complains about this one though, cause it’s actually a fun thing to do at parties. Also, carries everywhere her tote bag with the most interesting stuff, from unique books to antique artifacts like her stones, small kaleidoscopes, or glasses for three eyes.

Pieck hates ironing her clothes but loves fabrics that need to be ironed like cotton and linen since they’re so fresh and easy to paint with natural pigments. And when she’s feeling creative, she dares to embroider flowers and patterns over dresses and shirts or the bottom of her skirts.

Speaking of embroidery, a few of her shoes and jackets, are too, beautiful artworks that enhance her monochromatic outfits where collars and bracelets hang from her skin and cloth. It’s just such a pleasure observe her enriched style and simplicity. Love her dearly, want her as a friend and wardrobe consultant.

Porco Galliard

Okay but hear me out, Porco believes religiously in combat boots and bomber jacket's supremacy. Can't get enough of them. Actually, his outfits generally consist in joggers, boots, some simple t-shirt and a jacket.  Neatness is the word Porco would use to define his style as he rejects complicated compositions for something as simple as the necessity to cover one’s body.

Simple man with simple pleasures, his clothing looks all the same and rarely buys anything that's not military green, pitch black, white/grey, or brownish reds. For warmer days he just wears cotton shorts and a tank top -only if formality is not required- as he despises elegant garments, he would feel all uncomfortable and limited in movement.

Which brings us to the final point: Porco keeps a hygiene routine quite complex and exercises regularly, but unlike Reiner, his gym clothes don’t mean a huge part of his wardrobe (or personality) lol.

Since the last day of Shizaya week is a free day I thought I'd share some HCs of mine. I was gonna write a quick fic but time is a funny thing.

-Many people already know this one I think but it's still my favorite. Izaya is a painter in secret. He loves art and loves to create it. Something fascinates him about the way humans can look at art and see so many different things or meanings. He just enjoys the idea that a simple paint brush and color can create an infinite amout of possibilities. He enjoys painting his favorite beast most of all.

-Shizuo loves to not be in control when they get intimate. I read a fic once about Shizuo being tied down and couldn't (he totes could be that defeated the point) break free. That idea never left my head. Shizuo enjoys being forced to not use his strength.

-Izaya doesn't show his affection too often but when he does he goes COMPLETELY overboard. During special holidays he won't just get Shizuo a treat, no, he'd buy out an entire bakery. He would rent out an whole amusement park for Shizuo if that's what the other wanted.

-They both love to watch horror movies. Izaya says he doesn't but he can't help but find the things humans do in those situations fascinating, if not dumb. Shizuo loves them because he gets to see "real" monsters and also see people doing dumb things. Of course they both highly enjoy the clinging onto each other part.

-They both love to travel and go places. Clearly because Izaya loves to people watch. But Shizuo just loves to watch him be happy. He thinks anytime Izaya smiles is a good time. He would never admit it though.

-Shizuo is 1000% a sap. My mind won't be changed. He read shitty romance stories because he never thought he'd have one of his own. Having Izaya, someone not afraid of him or afraid of getting hurt is something he cherishes more than words can say. He loves when Izaya is dumb and goes overboard with romantic gestures. He himself loves to make really stupid ones that make you gush. Like hiding Mistletoe everywhere until he can kiss Izaya or making stupid promises that only works for them.

-They love their fighting and name calling. It's theirs and theirs alone. If someone else talks shit about the other they will have a world of hurt coming.

-Izaya is constantly asking Shizuo why he stays with him. His fragile heart will never let him just accept that Shizuo is his forever. Shizuo had to keep telling him about how much he loves him. Shizuo doesn't mind doing so. Part of that whole sap thing.

Just my thoughts and rambles. Never really made an HC post. I'm sure I show more in my lil Shizaya house pics. I just adore them so much and don't care that their relationship is TOXIC af IRL because Shizaya makes me happy. My happiness is very important to me ;3

I want a list of your fanon fawful pet peeves

ALRIGHT, you will receive them. I AM PUTTING A DISCLAIMER HERE SO I DON'T STEP ON ANY TOES but please keep in mind you do not have to agree w/ me. This is how I feel!! These are my personal thoughts.

1. I can't stand when people woobify Fawful and that's not just doing the "uwu so cute tiny bean boi little precious bean" stuff but also extends to talking about his motivations as if he didn't know what he was doing, as if he's NOT an intelligent mastermind, etc. Fawful is an extremely competent villain and literally came closer than any of the Mario Bros other enemies to actually succeeding. He brainwashed himself an entire army and conquered two castles in the process. Finding him adorable is not the problem but more the way I see him portrayed by some fans that bothers me.

I think it’s also important to note that his character comes across as far more serious in EVERY other translation except English. A lot of people in the west take him less seriously bc of his speech patterns so I think we need to take that into account as well.

2. I hate when people think he's a child. I wanna make something clear though and that's that I see a huge difference between creating an au/interpretation of Fawful that's a child VS actually believing he's a child in canon. The first type is something I'm completely fine with but the second drives me absolutely mad, I'm sorry.

Take a good look at this and tell me again how you think you're looking at a child.

Fawful's age, like many other Mario characters, is extremely ambiguous and kept that way on purpose bc it's not really an important or defining characteristic. I've seen hcs of how old he is range from young adult all the way to a weird old guy (I'm personally somewhere in between and hc him as middle aged!) and all of these are perfectly valid in my book. But I just cannot handle somebody legitimately believing he's a kid and nothing's going to change my mind about that.

3. Mommy Cackletta. I can accept that the idea of Cackletta raising Fawful like a son is cute in theory but can't get behind it at all because it simply doesn't line up with what we see of the interactions between the two in Superstar Saga. Fawful is straight up treated like a servant/minion and even refers to himself as having been a "toady" to Cacketta once he realizes what he's actually capable of on his own. He also never speaks of her again after the events of the first game which would be more than a little odd if she was actually intended to be a mother figure to him, let's be honest.

THAT BEING SAID I WANNA THROW SOMETHING IN... I notice that a lot of the folks who like the idea of Momletta tend to also support the idea of Fawful being a child to make the HC work more. But I feel that in the process of doing this many of these fans often forget that Cackletta is an OLDER WOMAN. She gets around in a flying rocking chair for a reason! If anything, if we're going to go with that kind of relationship between her and Fawful it would make far more sense to imagine a badass witch in her 60s still toting around her momma's boy of an adult son.

Come on, I'm not the only one who thinks that's funny, right?? LMAO.

4. I mentioned this in a previous post but it bothers me when people use Fawful's foreign names as a last name ex. Fawful Gracowitz or Fawful Gerakobits. This is a small thing and more of a mild annoyance than anything else.
