Shadow High series 3 my new beloved

I didnt even like most of em until i saw them in person, but the knowledge that they'll probably never be in the show has my brain in a "well its free realestate" kinda mood

Random list of information cuz ive been plotting out friend dynamics and background lore

-i like to pretend Rainbow High/Shadow High are actually Rainbow University/Shadow University cuz im in art college Right Now and i think it makes more sense with the whole dorm room situation. And also major makes more sense than focus IMO

-I changed Pinkie's major from film to just undeclared. I think she eventually does land on Film. She just has a lot of interests! Her dream has always been to one day direct films, and I think she comes to love them even more while developing ideas her with the group as she winds up in a Director/Producer position for most of them. BUT also every time she takes a class in a different program she cant help but fall in love with that way of making art too. So she has a hard time picking for a while and changed her major a couple times before landing on Film.

-Pinkie and Berrie bond a lot over a shared interest in vocal synths (tho Berrie knows more about them than her).

-The two made Pinkie's vtuber model together!

-the fandom wiki says PJ is from germany?? Idk how canon that is tbh but ive decided to embrace it i guess

-Rooney's canon name is Scarlet Rose, but i thought it was kinda lame especially when Rosie Redwood is also in this line sooo I renamed her! Stuck to the color name puns tho. Mar Rooney. Maroon. Haha

-Speaking on her though i love that shes from texas and likes writing scifi mystery type stuff and that being said i just Know deep in my bones that she was a Voltron Legendary Defender fan and Keith was/is 100% her favorite. She has a continued fondness for mothman specifically cuz of this.

-PJ and Rooney actually talk about fandom and shows/movies ALL the time. They dont have a ton of overlapping interests, but where they do? The two literally never shut up.

-Rosie is such a random character, like outside of her design she feels very poorly considered. So I scrapped the cosmetology thing and made her an illustrator instead! I think it works better with her love of making art in nature. I can see her being really into illustrated guide books. I think shes a bit snooty when it comes to art too. It takes being friends with other artists to become more open minded.

-I like the idea that Rosie is mainly friends with Rooney and Berrie ontop of that. The three of them often tag team storylines and how theyd interpret them into different mediums. Rosie will draw up a bunch of concept stuff while Rooney writes up a pitch bible and Berrie will start making shit move and throwing in her own ideas on camera angles and character designs.

-as an animation major Berrie was required to take a sound design class early on, which is where she met Oliver! Hes very laid back, and likes to go with the flow, but functions a little like the "mom" of the group. Often reminding the girls to take breaks, drink water, stop looking at their screens lest they get eye strain etc. He's multi-talented tbh but Music is his one true passion and he likes how the girls are always giving him collaboration opportunities.

-Oliver and Rosie like to talk sports a lot, both having played a bunch when they were younger and throughout high school.

-Lavender Lynn is Oliver's number one "person who needs constant reminders to settle down" she is in a constant buzz of trying to get the best shots and is utterly obsessed with the process of artistic documentation. Everything must be documented.

-the whole school loves her for this actually, she has a whole side gig where other students hire her to help photograph their projects. She saves everything she earns from this for her future dream plans to visit paris. She has it set really, many of the artists who she helps photograph now will remain steadfast clients of hers forever onward.

-PJ and Lynn actually took a print media class together at one point. Which didnt at the time spark an everlasting friendship. But it did give PJ an easier in to ask for Lynn's help documenting a project the group was working on. One of Lynn's first times photographing them work happened to fall on a day where Rosie had planned to trick everyone into going on a nature walk sans devices... Lynn wound up really appreciating this outing and decided to continue hanging around the group even after that project had ended.

The fight between you, Yuuji and the cursed spirit was running relatively smoothly. You're pleased to find out that this Yuuji is much like your Yuuji. Neither seem to care about how they're getting the job done, as long as they get the job done. He's athletic, you notice, jumping from spot to spot and launching punch after punch.

You don't need to do much. One of your water skins is uncapped as you use it. You're really just slashing this curse back Yuuji's way, trapping him there, keeping him there. However, you can't ignore that something really does feel off. It's definitely a curse, but it's body' fluid composition felt so... Human? It was unsettling.

As a Water Manipulator, you could feel fluid compositions. People are made up of at least 60% water. You can use them as your doll if you wish to do so, which is why you were feared among curse users in your own world. Cursed spirits are always made purely of cursed energy. And so far, you haven't come across a cursed spirit which power was based on water. 

Eventually, things take an unexpected turn soon enough. Nobara is getting pulled out of the barrier, for some reason. 

You're quick to follow, and soon enough the both of you are stood against the curse. 

Which was an odd thing. It seems to pretend to be a gentleman, spouting about how he'll let the two of you go considering your gender, leaving you both confused. 

And then it hops back. It looks ridiculous. Things get even more odd when Yuuji and the other curse jump in. Apparently the weird curse in front of you has something disgusting on its back. 

Things escalate. Nobara comments on the rotting smell that comes from him, and he grows angry, activating it's cursed technique. Soon enough, he's launching blood your way. 

You move out of the way- just in case, but you're pleased (yet also incredibly unsettled) to find out that it really is blood, even if it is poisonous. 

The curse angers visibly. 

" You should run, with your back to me! "

Nobara and Yuuji have no other choice, so they do. You keep your eyes on him, gathering the blood he's launching your way as you prepare to counter attack. 

" How about I rip your blood sculpted wings off instead? "

It doesn't like your words. Not at all. In fact, it launches so many attacks that even you have to pull back, throwing messy counter attacks as you jump backwards. It's laughing, while it manages to draw you back. It's incredibly quick, which makes it so hard to keep up. 

Nonetheless, you don't give up. 

Eventually, you manage to turn the tide. Suddenly, he's at your mercy, as you continue to summon his attack and make it your own. Unlike Blood Manipulation, you can't change the condense of blood, so you'll have to rely of the speed of it. You charge up the circle of it's blood that was already starting to pick up pace around you, and send it at him in one go. Like always, it creates a sword like effect, slashing through everything. The curse's eyes widen, and it has no choice but to jump back, all the way. 

Your attack had a bigger hit than expected, as a few trees fall to the side- you jump to avoid them. Oops. Regret fills your senses as you realize that the curse is dashing off on you. 

" Hey!- "

You're glaring. How dare he run off on you? You chase after it, however, it's much quicker than you. Your eyes widen as you catch up, your friends now both injured. 

" There's no need to worry. My younger brother's blood doesn't have the same quality as mine. And even mine won't kill you unless you would be drowned in it. Though it will hurt like hell. This is where our technique starts-"

He raises his pinky, and immediately black, tattoo like flowers run over your friends' wounds. Your eyes widen as concern overtakes your features. Shit- you're a healer first. You have to save them. For a moment, you panic in silence, not sure what to do, or what to say. Obviously, this isn't the time and moment to heal them. 

Meanwhile, the curse is breaking down how his technique works. The consequences are pretty clear, once either him (should we even refer to it as him?) Or his brother activate the technique, they only have about 15 minutes to live. 

Your eyes harden as you realize what you three have to do. Healing comes later. You've never come across a technique which effect was like poison. You don't know if you'd be able to stop his technique while it's working. It's better to have them release their technique altogether and heal them properly after that. 

Yuuji and Nobara seem to think the same thing. 

" Would you like me to end you right away? "

The curse was too bold with it's actions. 

" A technique that grants victory once it hits... That makes you strong. Too bad for you though, that makes me the worst match for you! "

Nobara is bolder. She's confident, yet somehow not arrogant. You watch in amazement as she plunges one of her nails in her arm, activating her straw doll technique. 

In response, both of their body's blood flow changes into one of stress. You stop all together. What are those things? They can't be curses. They simply can't be. Their body is made of blood. They're alive. You wouldn't be able to exorcise them, because it would be killing.

You're distressed now, unable to move. Can you even kill? You've never deemed yourself a good person, nor a bad person. You're not the type to forgive easy, or at all in most cases. You hold grudges a lot. You're not a bad person either. You're not fond of bullying, or picking on people. You're just,, you. You're not a killer though. Something was going on in this universe which was not natural, even for Jujutsu. Spirits that have taken bodies... These bodies could've been living an actual life before they were taken... You can't do this. You can't kill them. 

Meanwhile, the actual fight takes place. Yuuji is the first to throw a punch. First at the blue curse, before he switches with Nobara. 

You finally seem to snap out of it when-

" You bitch! "

Like we've mentioned before, you're not a good person.

" Who the fuck do you think you are to call my best friend a bitch?! "

You're launching yourself at the curse as well, joining your friends yet again. It's blue brother whines out desperately, but you force yourself to ignore it. 

His brother seems to release their cursed technique, and Yuuji now gets into physical combat with him, throwing punch after punch after punch. The curse is quick to react, enabling his stupid technique, Wing King once again, launching strikes of blood Yuuji's way. You're quick to intervene, summoning it's blood your way as you create the circle you're so fond of, charging up for your counter attack. Yuuji doesn't rest either, following your opening as both him and Nobara simultaneously manage to land a black flash on both of them. 

Your eyes widen in amazement. So far, you've never managed to do so before. The blue spirit barely survives, and your expression saddens as Nobara activates her hair pin technique, ultimately resulting in killing the curse. 

" Kechizu.. " 

It's the other curse. You feel guilty. He did refer to him as brother, after all. 

" I'm sorry brother, I couldn't protect him... "

Nobara's eyes widen, staring at the curse. 

She must've not known either. You realize. 

Out of nowhere, a truck suddenly comes from the tunnel. Everyone jumps out of the way in time. You lose focus, the curse's blood falling to the floor below you, it's poisonous effect evident as it burns into the ground. 

The curse is quicker to react, jumping on the back of the truck and keeping one of the two people in it hostage. Nonetheless, Yuuji chases after it. With result too, as Nobara releases her straw doll technique on it's brother, dead on injuring the curse, who falls right into Yuuji's clutches. 

Yuuji kills him. 

He doesn't look happy to do so. 

Afterwards, the three of you are heading back, towards Megumi. You're lost in thought about the events that just occurred, having forgotten about their injuries in favor of mental injuries you have no doubt created for others. 

Those two curses called each other brothers. It made you wonder if there was another one perhaps, maybe a whole family. Yuuji's voice cuts through your train of thought, reminding you where you are. 

" Kugisaki, are you okay? " 

" Oh, yeah. Though this might leave a scar. I wonder if those guys are okay, considering their truck just went speeding off. About the poison, I wonder if Shoko will be up this late. And if she will be sober- What are you fidgety for? It's creepy. "

She's asking Yuuji the question. Meanwhile you press a gentle hand to her uninjured arm. 

" I can fix that, actually. If that's okay. " 

Nobara nods, and you get to work. You first manipulate the poison out, managing to tell it apart from her own blood with surprising ease. After that, you uncap one of your water skins, manipulating the water around your hand as you press the cold substance to her arm's injury. First, she cringes at the cold, but then she grows more comfortable as a comforting feeling settles in her skin. The water you're using to heal glows, and her arm feels all warm and comfortable. 

Meanwhile, the two had continued talking. 

" Wasn't this the first time you killed something instead of exorcising it? " 

Your eyes widen, your focus momentarily quivering. He's done this before? Does he know what they are?

" Yeah, what about you? "

" I have, once... No that's not correct. It was three people. "

" You seem to be doing way worse than me. To put it blunt, I don't care. As a sorcerer, you tend to run into these things. I'm no Fushiguro, but ultimately, there's only so many people we can save. " 

Her words are cold, but real. Meanwhile you finish up your work, her skin smooth and healed once again, like it never happened. She continues to explain why she feels like that, and you somewhat do understand. You wouldn't have won if all of you had refused to kill it like you did, especially with a technique that strong. 

" Woah, your healing is indeed impressive, Y/N.- How do you feel about killing? "

Her blunt words make you cringe as you continue to walk. 

" Uncomfortable, to be honest. I'm not sure if I can kill one if the situation would ever demand it of me to be honest. They were crying for one another. I never had to fight something that understood emotions before. " 

Yuuji nods in agreement. 

" I feel the same. I'm happy we survived, but still, tears were shed over the lives we ended tonight. "

For a moment, a silence settles over the three of you. 

" Then I guess that makes us accomplices. "

Nobara points out, causing you to cringe yet again, the weight of the word uncomfortable. 

Thankfully, a moment later, the three of you come across Fushiguro... Who is passed out, beside the river. 

" Fushiguro! "

" Megumi! "

All three of you call out in worry. You drop down to your knees beside him as he stirs, uncapping your water skin yet again in preparation, eyes scanning over him for injuries. 

Megumi grumbles as he opens his eyes. 

" Oh, you guys are back. Glad you're all safe. "

" W-We were so scared, we thought you were dead! Thank goodness! " 

Both Yuuji and Nobara are in the back, holding hands as they express their fears to their dear friend. 

Meanwhile, you focus on his health. 

" Are you okay? Or injured? "

" Could you two at least keep it down? I'm okay, Y/N, but my head hurts. "

You pout at his stubbornness. 

" Where? " 

You're already summoning water around both of your hands, ready to help. 

Megumi opens his mouth to say something, probably to tell you off with nonsense, when you notice the big red stain on the back of his head. You purse your lips, scolding him softly. He leans into your touch, a new comforting feeling spreading through his skull. 

" No wonder your head hurt. " 

" Don't go to sleep with a Sukuna's finger in your hand. That's dangerous. "

Nobara's words draw your attention. You glance at Megumi's hands, noticing that he is indeed holding a disgusting looking long nailed red finger-

" That's a-? You swallow that thing whole? Like nail and all? "

" Pretty much. Should I eat it? "

" It's not like left overs, you know? "

" We're not sure how many fingers you can handle. So don't eat it. You look the least worn down though, so take it. I'll tell you again though, don't eat it. "

Yuuji huffs, probably annoyed by Megumi's way of addressing him currently, as he approaching. However, surprise takes over your features as a mouth appears on Yuuji's hand and fucking swallows it. Ew. 

You watch in disgust which turns into amazement as you notice familiar marks appearing on his skin for a moment. Your heart skips a beat at the reminder of your best friend, who is so far away.

Silently, you wonder how he's doing.

" You should really stop staring at your bracelet like that, it's getting a bit depressing to watch. "

" You wear a blindfold, do you even see anything? "

Gojo hums, sitting down on the floor beside his student, on the stairway leading up towards the mountains. He knows this spot all too well. Y/N and Sukuna would sit here often. Something about liking the view. Gojo doesn't really get it. It's just trees and buildings. He doubts Sukuna gets it either.

" I have the six eyes, remember? "

All he gets in response is an annoyed sigh from the teenager. Sukuna didn't get along well with people older than him. He lacked respect, in multiple ways. His parents were more fond of his twin, simply because he was more outgoing, naturally nicer. People didn't typically get along with the boy at all. Something about him being too intimidating, too rude, too disrespectful. The tattoos on his face were a stark reminder that he doesn't really care. Somehow, he did manage to be close friends with you though. Gojo will never understand how. The two of you were pretty much complete opposites, yet you balanced each other out just fine.

The six eyes never told him, but he didn't need any ability to see the bond he shared with you. It was unique, deep. It reminded him painfully of him and Suguru. Sukuna doesn't view you like the sacred healer you are. He sees you just as you, just like how Suguru used to view Satoru as himself. 

Gojo sighs softly, his easy going smile leaving his face, making room for more serious conversation. 

" I know losing your best friend is hard. But you have to-"

" She's not dead. "

Gojo sighs, having expected that response. He wouldn't believe anyone who told him his best friend would be dead when she had literally disappeared out of nowhere. 

" Sukuna-"

" She's not. I'm 100% sure. Something isn't adding up. "

" She could have fallen in the river, -"

" No, look. "

Gojo glances at his student's phone, noting the messages.

Gojo's brows furrow behind his blindfold. That indeed is very odd. 

" Besides, did you just hear yourself? Y/N losing when around a river? "

" You never know, if she was knocked out she could've been drowning-"

" She's not dead. "

Gojo's eyes glance at Sukuna's bracelets below his blindfold, the water in it limp, ordinary. He didn't understand exactly how it worked, but somehow it always drew Sukuna to you whenever he needed to find you, no matter where you were. It would flow, like a river leading him towards the sea. The only reason for it to stop working would be if you were dead, or really that far away, but where would you be. 

Sukuna sighs, getting up as he glares at his sensei. He looks like he's about to say something, but then he scoffs, turning away, walking off. 

Gojo figures that Sukuna is really just unaccepting of your death. If the boy had cursed energy, he'd tell him to get a hold of his emotions before he'd accidentally place a curse on you, though he doesn't have any, so you should be fine. 

However, even Gojo has to admit that his most irrational student has a point. Perhaps he should look deeper into it indeed.

My backstory is not as intriguing as half of the people here it's so cringy but like idk

My parents weren't exactly common folk in this case my mother was a pro-hero called storm (yes same powers but not that storm) and my dad was out of the picture. From an early age, I exhibited an affinity for the sun and moon.

As a child, my quirk manifested unexpectedly. One sunny afternoon, while I was playing in the backyard, I reached out to touch a sunflower.And to my surprise, the flower caught on fire. My mother and my grandma who were both there there at the time were both amazed and concerned.

But mother dearest being a pro here handled it pretty well I would say, later on during my younger years I jst kept discovering I could do stuff it's like every day I would wake up and it's like wow I didnt know I could do that

(1) train master chidori

in terms of me redesigning folami, i think i'm also gonna tweak her personality a bit too. i want to give her braids and slicked down baby hairs instead of the initial poofs that i had her with previously--and i think that may change which association creature/thing that i want her to be associated with bc i mostly just associated her with poodles because of her hair LOL. in terms of her personality, i originally made her a bit airheaded but i think i may kinda wanna give her more mature vibes since she's technically gonna be the oldest and most experienced of chidorky's crew. more... zakuro from tmm energy tbh. i think that may be the vibe i wanna go for for her lol.

(2) celestial weddings

beloved extremely wholesome polycule shenanigans lol. i think the one character that i know much less about their romance arc with dag is muu? muu is from denjai, which is the fourth sphere and its a swampland and marshy type of place. muu themself is the youngest of all of dag's lovers and it definitely shows in how upbeat they are and how they very much look up to dag in an almost hero worship kind of way. tbh they probably have the senpai/kouhai romantic relationship arc and ngl its very cute. muu also flaps their hands whenever they get excited about something and they tend to stumble over their words when they get excited, which is a lot lol.

(3) nondisclosure

i used to be sooo back and forth about nyseah and 17's relationship when i made the characters many many moons before; (and actually now that i think about it, most of the characters from that wip, except everything relating to owen and helios's storyline still exists in this version of the story lol. idk if i'll ever go back to those two characters but they did have a sweet relationship, it was just SO thematically different than everything else that was going on, which is how it developed into what i call now nondisclosure LOL) i actually kind of wanted them to get together only because i built up 17 to be a sort of "he's justified for his actions and he actually does care about nyssie.... somehow" back then. but i think i was also biased because he was one of the first "morally grey characters" i really ever made and i suppose back then i was much simpler in what i wanted from those kinds of characters.

when i think about nondisclosure now, 17 barely plays a role in it from what i think. tbh i think 12 plays more of a role than he does and that's because i'm obsessed with 12 and i think everyone should be obsessed with 12 but this isn't about him this is about 17 and nyssie. i think it works better for nyssie to not get with him in the end because like he seriously violated her in a way that younger me didn't really see an issue with (thanks ya and anime for not thinking this kind of relationship was bad or that it could be fixed LMAOOO... not to say that i don't enjoy making those kinds of relationships now, its just the fact that now i'm more likely to lean into the relationship being fucked up LMAO). anyway tho, mama nyssie and her brood of kiddos is the best ending for her because its the one where she's the happiest :D

ranger being aromantic makes so much of how he acted in all of the old chapters that i wrote many moons ago make so much fucking sense. like seriously, he was soooo noncommittal to the point of it being basically a meme, and even tho the friend i would talk with about these characters at the time helped me make a character for him to be with and i 'enjoyed' it to a certain extent, it always felt kind of off? and i think its because the person ranger will always be the closest with is always gonna be nanette, like they are inseperable and i think them defining a qpr is actually So Fucking Good for them. i'm kinda obsessed with their dynamic ngl, adn i also like the idea that ranger is just like down to fuck all of his besties and at the same time they all have a relationship with each other where that's just a thing that they do.

i really need to work on roger tho because he is so conflicted about a lot of things. not just to get him open to the fucking really, but mostly just because he has the roughest go of it relating to family and it kinda hits home for me personally a bit, so in some ways i feel like idk how i should handle it. but overall, love they. i should think about them more tbh LOL

chloe being involved in jenna's story is honest to god still so funny to me. like here's this "average" small town popular girl, who's popular by virtue of being normal enough and outgoing enough that everyone likes her, but having a bit of an alt style so people think she's edgy and unique and then all of a sudden she's hanging out with the town weirdos trying to hunt down a what? what did you say it was jenna? a chupa--WhAT?

and the fact that she's so taken aback with how casually jenna says that she likes her that it just takes her and her sexuality for a wild ride and at the end of it all she has to go to college and pretend that she didn't just have the craziest senior year/summer of her fucking life LMAOOO its just so funny to me.

just thoughts on totk thus far

I keep seeing ppl say they've done away with the triforce in totk...but like....im 99% sure that's what the secret stones are supposed to be.

The triforce itself is comprised of the combined power of the royal 3.

But they also seem to work 1:1 like the triforce did in like LTTP.

Also there's 8 pieces which calls back to LoZ 2.

I'm not done the game yet, but totk seems to rehashing a LOT of older lore mixed with more recent lore. Notably, this game feels like its primarily touching on the first 3 games, plus OOT, with some of the better ideas from SS.

You see implications of who the gods truly are (apparently colonizing aliens who descended upon the land to mine its resources...which was something implied in SS quite blatantly???)

But it also adds context to the original 3 goddesses, implying that they had been ancient Zonai who posed as gods to the original inhabitants of Hyrule. Later becoming dragons and mythologized after thousands of years. (also me pogging that the light dragons stoney spines are the same colours as the goddess plumes!?!?!?? idk what that means but cool?????????)

I also don't know if they touch on this later, but it really seems like the Sheikah, esp the ancient Sheikah, were Hylians who specifically followed in the footsteps of the Zonai. I think this makes sense, and ties them to previous games where they were a tribe/clan/family of ninja who were closest to the gods. And since Zonai fancy themselves gods (or at least the ancient Hylians did, I don't think they were tbh) , this kind of clarifies that relationship/connection. Maybe they have a specific tie to Mineru, which would reiterate their bond to the royal family. But that might be over complicating things, since at least in botw they're just like, straight up ninja. But who knows, maybe not??

Also the young dumb idiot energy that Rauru brings is great. Big fan of young fucko who thinks he can be a good king but inherently fucks up because that's impossible, girl ur a monarch, is super interesting. wanna take him by the ears and look him dead in the eyes like, buddy you legit should not have taken those fucking stones out and just lived a quiet life in the woods...but then we'd be without a game. 🙄

I'm still collecting the slabs, the small snippets you get of both he and Sonia's relationship and characters are so fun. Sonia is also great, wish we got a bit more of her tho.

I'm really enjoying Ganondorf, he's a bit understated, but it's been interesting to see him younger than we ever have, right before the unification wars, head full of poetry and ambition. Why he green tho???????

1, Dalia is 5'6, and she's also 15 and weighs around 160 pounds just to cover bases

2, if she could have anything, it would probably be peace of mind. She's usually worried about something or someone, and she puts her concerns about and need to protect those close to her above her own needs. She wants a way to just shut out her thoughts and have the peace her epithet can provide to others, but if she tries to use her epithet on herself it doesn't work, so she's constantly seeking out ways to get that peace, but her thoughts never go away, she can push them to the back of her mind but they're always there and she wishes they weren't. (Lowkey needs therapy tbh)

3, alr family wise she has a pretty big family(so many cousins but I'll make a tree later, I promise) but for immediate family she has 2 siblings, both younger. The middle kid is Esme, and she's 9, and she's pretty close with Dalia (even though some days she makes her wanna rip her own hair out bc omfg does this kid not listen). The youngest is named Jasper, he's 8, and he's sweet, but that doesn't mean he doesn't cause trouble, it's just that when he just does it's more sneakily than when Esme does it. Her dad(named Carter) is a stay at home dad who's trying his best. He's got a lot going on, but despite it all, he's pretty close with Dalia. They have the same sense of humor, so if you put them in a room together, they constantly crack jokes at each other. He was on drumline when he was her age, and that's part of the reason she joined guard bc she wanted to be involved with the marching band like her dad. She looks up to him a lot.

4, she likes colorguard a lot, but there was definitely a learning curve. If you saw her at her first performance compared to her latest, you wouldn't think it's the same person. She gets super nervous before performances tho (she cried because of her nerves before her first real performance) but the more performances and practice she got under her belt the better her nerves have gotten(she still gets a little panicky before big shows and parades, but nothing compared to how it used to be)

5, Prolly Sabrina, i feel her idgaf energy would ground Dalia in a way(I have a lot of friends with that energy and idk why but it grounds me, so now figuring out why is Dalia's problem lmao) They also have similar music taste(Dalia playlist coming soon) If they were friends they'd totally send eachother fanfic for fandoms they're both in at ungodly hours of the night lmao

It's hard to imagine Tomura around little kids

Sometimes I imagine that he'd accidentally scare Eri with how he looks (not just looks but. The Villain Vibes. plus yknow she saw him destroy half the city on tv, thank you very much for that core memory all might) and he'd be all "...whatever" about it but still feel sorry for her, maybe even try to make her feel comfortable afterwards? Not get too near and let Eri have her space

I think he'd be cautious around her. You could put it down to him just not knowing what to do around kids or being afraid he might hurt her somehow, whatever

I do think Eri would be at least a little scared of him at first but if Tomura were to behave carefully, she wouldn't be tempted to run away. Or maybe she'd just find him both scary and strange for a while

I don't know how exactly they'd get to any bonding

Sometimes I like to imagine that Eri, for whatever reason, is self conscious about her scars. Maybe she's trying to hide them or she's upset and clinging to whoever she feels safe with, however she shows it. And then Tomura just shows her his scars, the ones on his face and such, maybe just as a "hey I'm the same, I have scars too, a person who was supposed to take care of me did this" thing

(Tho when I imagine that scenario, I also think about Izuku being in the same room and watching this, and maybe showing his own scars too on his arms. Just the 3 of them talking about it and Izuku is the balance of positivity about it, because I doubt Tomura would have a lot of positive things to say about his scars. So Izuku would be the one to say "these are proof that I've lived, and that's the same for you! for Shigaraki as well!" etc ndsfnisdjk)

Honestly not sure how Tomura and Eri would interact if the League were still together (you know those League-Eri au's?). I always imagine them meeting in scenarios where Izuku has already saved Tomura and the two just end up interacting somehow (maybe through association with Izuku? the I Was Saved By A Teenage Hero And Now He's My New Brother club)

Part of me thinks Tomura would also have a little bit of awareness about what she thinks? Idk, maybe it's just me jumping to conclusions but those comments he made in his backstory narration about kids being simpler and sneakier and saying "when you're little, a grown ups words are absolute" tipped me off to that. Maybe he wouldn't have an exact knowledge about it, but he'd be able to guess with how he felt when he was younger? If that makes sense

I do think, despite how distant or awkward Tomura might be with Eri, he'd be kind to her too. Again, the whole "I know what it's like to be that scared as a child" thing coming into play. This also ties in with the above paragraph, how he could relate to her in a way?

If we're to go with the After Tomura Is Saved scenario I mentioned before, with how Eri seems brighter in canon now and a little more eager to do things, I think she could also help him improve somehow. Not in a huge way, but just. in small ways. Maybe seeing someone much younger than him recover from a similar situation could help Tomura feel better and want to do better

Finally, I can't help but think Eri would love to braid his hair. Imagine Nejire taught her how to do it and now she can't stop, and she sees Tomura's long hair and she's like 🤩. And if Tomura is okay with being touched, he'd let her do it while he's playing a game or something. He doesn't really pay much attention to her actions until she's all done and he's looking in the mirror and he's like "hm. oh 😳 huh"

hi huh. this could be my last lastart ask 🥹 im sorry to be whiny here but i'm heartbroken minjae didn't debut in nct tokyo. i dreaded it cos he's not one of the clearly strong candidates from how the judges ranked him and his stage performance but it still hurt. this is my first time watching a survival show too. its not a traditional survival and it all was decided before but this is still how it feels to root for someone's debut..

i know so little about minjae comparing to urichil especially jaedo but i love his voice. his personality doesnt stand out but humble and gentle is one of my types 🥺 i like him enough from the show to want to know more about him as a person, even with the little screentime he got. i planned on stanning nct tokyo if he debuted there cos i already love nct lore, concepts and ofc the music but since he's not in the unit.. i might not be able to stan. i'm too emotional. i do like riku and yushi but it's just not enough for me to stay invested. i'll just support their music as a listener.

minjae is a 02 line trainee and he's training for 2 years already. riize just debuted. nct tokyo will debut soon. sm claimed theyll debut artists more but i just can't see it in at least 2 or 3 more years. even so trainees will go and new trainees will come. combinations and concepts will keep changing as we have seen and not the best vocalists (or dancers, rappers, visuals) get chosen. we never know for real why hansol and yongju left, could be how sm had no clear plans for them too but i also feel like yongju wasn't a dancer and hansol not really a singer or rapper at the time. like minjae now. sm wants performers or if not, someone with extreme skills on one end must have no other worthy rivals at the time. adding korea military service and the industry trends to debut younger trainees, minjae has limited time in sm. 02 is considered kinda old now no matter how ridiculous it sounds.

at the end of lastart minjae looked like he still had hope and would still try to be an idol but i wonder like you if he'll still be in sm. he's still there atm but the younger trainees have more time. i'll root for minjae in whatever path he chooses but i think he fits sm best with the talent and music style, even if his stage presence is still lacking. i also dont really dig other companies' bg sounds tbh 😢 idk i just can only see him fit in sm group or just go solo as a ballad or pop singer.

enough about minjae rant. i know anderson stood out without blending in but i'm still SHOOK he's not become a neo. he seems neo for me, just not fit with most lineup members. i agree nct tokyo looks like they are going the youthful route first. i got this feeling from the members' visuals and heights too. sion is the only tall one now and maybe daeyoung. minjae and anderson might change the group vibes. (haruta and heitetsu are tall too but they had lower chance to debut.) ryo is unexpected for me tbh even with his 90's love but i know jp fans are gonna love him like sakuya and sm probably thought he was a young one with potential. he's also the most popular jp trainee after yushi, riku and sakuya.

minjae and anderson are popular among kr, jp and international fans too but sm chose daeyoung over minjae and sakuya over anderson ig.

anderson said he would take a break. he had only been training for 6 months in sm but i feel he felt he was close to debut with his previous performance ranking. i'm honestly most shocked about him not chosen even tho i know he has different vibes from others.

I was saying that it not always only about skill, a trainee needs to fit the concept and the rest of the trainees.

This idol show was just at least. It's worse when those who debuted are obviously less skilled than the ones you rooted for due to fans' bias. All chosen future neos make sense one way or another.

SM wanted a main vocal. Daeyoung also offered rap and better stage precence than Minjae (despite a few months of training, i.e. he progresses faster). And visually he blends better with the rest. His face is kind of roundish, on a bland side, but make up will improve it. Minjae's face is elegant and cold. He is very contrasting to others. Still, I think his downfall was his lack of progress in stage presence.

I don't know Minjae, obviously, but I wonder if becoming a soloist is better for him. He likes singing and he wants to touch people's hearts. Idolship hardly offers this. We know Doyoung struggles. He had a period of "I will do my best, sing what I have to sing", when he wasn't into NCT songs and his parts. 4 seasons didn't work. Taeil is still waiting for his solo despite his golden voice, for which he was chosen over Doyoung for 127 (although Do studying Chinese played a role in it too, heh). Minjae doesn't have Doyoung's assertiveness and will. Being an idol might become a burden, too much for him to handle. Trainees don't really know what is ahead of them. There was that case of Winner's main vocal leaving soon after debut. He won the competition, got the ultimate prize, and found out it wasn't what he desired in the end. If Minjae hones his voice, he can become an OST singer, sing before live public.

Anderson would have been chosen if not for SaRyo, who are Japanese. He isn't an obvious rapper like Riku, and Sakuya is also entertaining. Hansol was a better dancer than Johnny, but he was timid (had less fans, I suppose), and he had no other advantages like English for extra points. Anderson is still, like, 18? He is very self-managing and optimistic, he will make it. Maybe he will be the reason to pay attention to the next SM group, heh. He is kind of repeating Shotaro's path. If he won't change his mind about being an idol in Korea, we will see him again. He either cameback home to graduate school or spend time with his parents.

Despite Kassho not being ready, I really wanted him as a neo, he fits the concept so well. So I get you.

As one of the judges said, the contestants who didn't win got exposure and gained fans. It's already an advantage. There are popular groups consisting of Produce 101 trainees who were eliminated in the beginning or in the middle (Oneus, Everglow). Not winning a show is not the end. It all depends on the will to succeed, who has it in them. And I think SM will keep the promise of debuting a new group every 2-3 years. They can do it by diversifying genres.

Yeah, I am begging for the writers to let Riven NOT be the cause of every single problem. Helia is totally prone to make mistakes on his own, pushing most of the blame to Riven is such a cop-out. Esp when the lesson should be that mistakes don't define Helia's worth as a person at all. If Riven does screw up, let him be apologetic!!! He has shown he has the capability to apologise!!!

Also yessss it would make more sense that the rumour be that Helia was a prodigy who screwed up and left RF. It adds to that layer of mystery Helia has and makes it more rewarding when the rest of the guys grow to trust him

Yeah Brandon is probably an outlier when it comes to reacting to fuck ups. Tho, I don't think there's much opportunities we see that if i rmb correctly. Only times I can think abt is S4 when mitzi kissed him and he just awkwardly walked away from the argument, some moments from S6 when he confronts Stella, and him apologising solemnly when he breaks up w stella in the comics. And maybe the funniest moment: Him washing dishes when he hasn't resolved things with Stella yet, and there is an unecessary amt of awkward tension. For DISHES.

Brandon bias <3 <3 How he ends up being sexy haha funny man with this kind of backstory + the most serious way of dealing with conflict is a mystery to me.

Hmm I did consider that Erendor prob wouldn't like Sky being friends with Brandon. The only justification I came up with is that (if this info i saw from the magazine canon) Brandon's parents are close to Erendor/Samara, as their advisor/handmaiden respectively. I don't think they respect their courtesans much, but that connection might have given Brandon some leeway to be friends with Sky.

My hc before I knew his family info was q similar to your idea I think? That Brandon was the son of Erendor's longtime bodyguard. The fact that his father could easily train him + similar age + accessible and "acceptable" to let near Sky would prob make Brandon a good candidate

honestlyyy my bf is lucky to have me!! bc ive seen and heard things that i feel like another girl would probably not give him more chances or go off on him out of frustration. even his sister told me she’d do things differently. idk im not trying to shit on him at all bc hes a really good person and i love him very much and want to be with him for the rest of my life. i just know that if it was the other way around with all the things we both have done, he would notttt trust me and he already has trust issues. i mean im not perfect either..yes i have done some small things before, but it was without any personal feelings and any intimate physical touch. now, there is a lot of context and things for part of what he did and the situation we were stuck in so like its not as bad as it sounds.. but STILL lol im just thinking. like i know if one of us had to break up with each other it would def be him breaking up with me. i just know. theres already been times where he would sound like he would and he’d make all these confrontations feel so serious. also, hes still a man. yes hes he/they, masc presenting, but he still thinks like men. im not trying to offend anyone pls if literally anyone reads this far so ill explain what i mean. he did not have good luck with girls in hs and so he worked on himself to look better and then got the attention from girls he craved back then. got some experience, got a gf, got cheated on, got dating apps again but stayed fwb with his ex until calling it off when we started dating. i know he can move quickly with things and act on his high sexual drive. if anyone whos considered attractive gives him attention, he could entertain the idea or like he starts to compare me and itll make me feel like im not enough and dont match his lifestyle. i feel like its easier for him than me to start seeing people in a sexual way and want to get in their pants. idk if it could be like the female attention since he doesnt always feel good about himself and now that a pretty girl shows interest its like it gets to his ego. again, i sound like im shitting on him but im not, im just thinking i can type it all out and leave it here bc ive never talked about this or wrote about it. i found out today that he did stuff with his friend ~3 yrs ago while me & him were on a break and me and her are like friendly acquaintances and we went to her baby shower, gender reveal party, & he went to her wedding, all after they did it. he really only told me now bc her husband i guess just found out somehow and msgd my bf about it and said he’ll go msg me about it. he didnt want me to find out first thru someone else, which i appreciate that he was able to tell me first, but its also like okay damn they really did that. and yes it was years ago so i honestly didnt feel hurt about it i was just more shocked. like.. he was on a break with me and felt single and he says shes cheated before so it just happened with them and they didnt do it again. funny thing is that her husband was already suspicious of him years ago and thinking he was only friends with her to do stuff and now shit, he was partially right. honestly, thats a dumb mistake on her end, like she was engaged or almost engaged at the time. also, for the record, he hooked up with (for what i know now) 2 other people during that time period, so 3 within our 1 month break. one didnt involve any feelings i presume and the other one had a shit ton bc they went on actual dates and shit and she ended it bc they both or just she didnt wanna settle. she was 3 yrs younger than him and yes.. i did stalk her a bit bc i needed to know, why her, who she is, etc. and i could already tell she got around..but whatever, i already coped from that lol. back to his friend, he knows she was with someone & he knows her man already didnt like him. even tho she didnt care, he still went along with it bc hes been wanting to do that since the day they became friends. it all makes sense. he met her in school when he was still with his ex so i dont have anything to say about that part but like, again…

HAI STAR I AM BACK FROM EUROPE !!! I got home like two hours ago :3 feels SO good to be back in my own room in my own bed - showered, have laundry going, AND I UNBOXED MY LIMITED EDITION ATE ALBUM I BOUGHT IN COPENHAGEN (posted a pic on tumblr if ya wanna check it out hehe) ... work and school emails can wait until tmrw... RAHHH it's been so long lemme go through your last few responses to my messages since last time I responded Summer if FLYINGGG wahhh I can't believe I start school in a month! I've seen bits and pieces of what you've said about ATEEZ and Lolla and they both sound RAHHHHH I'm so glad you had fun and meet up with your older sister (for ATEEZ) (though the sunburn does NOT sound fun) and I'm glad you were able to stay safe (?) and be responsible and help that girl out (at Lolla) As for South Africa guy... So basically once I went on the trip we didn't talk cause he was on his trip and I was on mine but I did send him a long ass message about what was going on in my brain (after confirming that he would be okay and welcoming to that sort of messages since we couldn't talk it out at the time) and explaining to him how hurt I really was? but like in a respectful and calm manner. Idk it was longggggg mostly cause I over(?)think or like have many thoughts because while I did want to explain that I was hurt, I also wanted to make it clear that I saw where he was coming from and wasn't telling him to hurt him or make him feel bad if that makes sense. Anyways, seeing as I JUST got back and he just got back a few days ago (with covid nonetheless), we have yet to talk about it and he has yet to respond to my long ass message. (today during my flight from Amsterdam (layover) to where I live I watched one of my fav comfort movies three times in a row (it's Zootopia LMAO)) Europe Trip stuff: my fave part was def the guided, all inclusive tour we did of Norway country side form Voss to Bergen - it was hiking, biking, and kayaking! I died physically (i mean like one of the days was 61 km of biking... and we were doing stuff for 6 days) BUT EVERYTHING WAS SO PRETTY AND THE WEATHER WORKED OUT AMAZINGLY usually its rainy and dreary and cloudy (like where I live - honestly norway looks like exactly where I live) but it was SUNNY the WHOLE time!! I got to swim in the fjords and go fishing (I LOVE fishing...) and just take in all the nature as I hiked and biked etc... and my younger brothers and I made some friends with another family on the tour (there were four other families in total) - this family had three boys - two 17 y/o twins and a 14 y/o - they were so much fun tbh LOL the 14 y/o was very mature tho (maybe more than his brothers tbh) I thought he was like 17 when I first met him and thought his brothers were like 20 LMAO they're all tall- anyways, the 14 y/o, he thought I was like 15 when we first met (I think he developed a crush on me ngl by the end of the tour lol) anyways ya it was fun !!! sorry for the LONGGG life update... OK this is utterly random but I was digging for references to draw Dita and something about him looks. Off? I don't have the databook so my only references here are the CoM profile image and the in-game sprite in Interlude but then I realized that his eye color is significantly darker than Fragments we're currently aware of?? Even Eigha's are more Fragment red than Dita's. I think I'm losing my mind. Surely he wouldn't wear different contact lenses?

I don't really have a goal here I just don't have anyone else to bother with my brainrot and you're chill so presumably up for someone else's brainrot. Cool if not tho

i got pretty curious, so i decided to see for myself. just to note, theodore has pure #FF0000 red eyes so i didn't include him, none of the others have anything like that. the databook makes sure to make a distinction when talking about hatsutori's eyes too (i.e. saying they're not pure red, that they're dark red. i assume the same applies to the rest too).

if you're curious, there is not really much on ditasword in the databook, there's a paragraph about it on shinano's entry that teases CoM's premise and the nature of the show, what it is, mentions miwa and gives a little information about him etc. i feel like the only thing that isn't mentioned in the interlude or other material is that eigha as a character appears in season 2 and 4 (so he isn't in season 1 or 3). there's a drawing in the databook that can be seen in thumbnail form in miwa's room. i think it's the poster with taka on it. it's a little hard to see tho. the poster with shiyo on it is based on the art on the CoM website with ryuu replaced with eigha. as far as i know there's no HD version of the half with eigha on it.

here is what i ended up with:

i compared in-game sprites. any inconsistency in other pictures, i think i personally rule out as just that, inconsistencies.

looking purely by value, ryuu's eyes are the darkest among the fragments, miwa in second, then izu, hatsutori, misumi. i included hair color too for some reason. i was most surprised that misumi has the lightest eyes. izu is weird because his eyes are more RED than anyone else. overall, there doesn't seem to be any pattern or correlation for why they're all different. my guess is that it's just a design thing. we say "pink" hair, but it's noted to be shades of magenta. so by the logic of design choice, it makes sense that miwa, who is a 60+ year old man who pretends to be 40 years younger and plays an anime boy for a living, has the pinkest hair (since it's cute). ryuu having a sort of muddy, ashy purple. hatsutori having probably the least blemished magenta since he's got an otherworldly cult leader sort of mood going on, etc.

my personal outlook on color variation for a while has been that not unlike a gemstone, there are different degrees of purity and such, and if you consider theodore the "purest", then the other fragments appearance suddenly start to make sense. something like this:

tho, idk if this has any basis in reality. it's just a funny thing i thought of... (yknow since fragments, rocks... etc)

as for eigha... his eyes are darker than ryuu's. i feel like that's consistent with someone wearing contacts over normal dark eyes. i do think this is a factor, because the contacts in miwa's bathroom are noted to be black, not brown. i think red would definitely look weird under brown contacts, since yknow that kind of thing does peek out a bit. someone would have clocked the deception pretty fast if they compared dita in the show and miwa out and about. of course it's a lot of show don't tell. you just find miwa's disguise in his bathroom. it's obvious the implication is "dita's look is what miwa actually looks like" but the vigilant might still consider other avenues. i'm lazy so i just go with the most obvious and probably intended implication. this is just an aside, but i honestly would have snapped, the fragments have lightly colored eyelashes and eyebrows, so on work days miwa would have to tint them to look darker going to the studio or whatever else, wipe it all off and get in dita costume, then put it back on to go back home, then go home and wipe it off again...

we don't know what either person who plays eigha looks like, but since it's the inverse situation... i guess it makes sense. (if shiyo really is actually a real harada, it'd be auburn dark red under there?!?!!?!! <-instant otaku death) he does have a sprite where his eyes are glowing, but since it's a 2.5D show i don't rule out special effects, post processing, etc.

since the game collaboration is based on the movie, i'm fully assuming it's shiyo, but there's really nothing saying it can't be taka...?? i have no idea!!! i think it's definitely shiyo though!!!

overall, i didn't observe anything abnormal about miwa compared to the other fragments, but i also have no idea why izu's eye color is so drastically different from misumi's. i expected them to be the same since it's misumi's fragment after all.

Oof that’s a good question. I didn’t really plan anything out and just kinda wrote that as is came. No clue about character stuff, but trying works right! …I can’t tell if this version of Bowser is too kind or too mean compared to his regular one though ^^;

Ok, so, Luigi actually went on evil escapades as Mr. L in Super Paper Mario, where he was very cocky and showoff-y, always hyping himself up. Given how Luigi is normally, I always interpreted the way Mr. L acts as compensating for a hidden inferiority complex in Luigi. (At least in the older games, nowadays my man’s gained some confidence)

But anyways, combine that with Bowser‘s arrogant selfishness (and being Kamek‘s obvious favorite kid of the two), I imagine AUigi‘s complex gets cranked up by 10. I think he would’ve looked up to him as a kid and still kinda does. Dude secretly just wants his Turtle Bro‘s approval, man. (But like…in a "haha of COURSE I did I‘m great! >:3“ and not an "Omg you think so? :D“way, if that makes sense? The latter only when they were kids maybe). Meanwhile Bowser just gives peak "older mean brother antagonizing the younger“ vibes. Where Mario sees and treats his green brother as an equal, Bowser doesn’t.

However, since Bowser has a very well known caring side towards folks on his own team, that with his now Big-Broness means that if anything happens to Auigi, Bowser will personally come fuck you up. There is only ONE person who can be mean to Auigi and it’s HIM, ya hear. Bowser canonically has Proud Dad energy, you can’t tell me he wouldn’t have Big Bro energy too.

Idk, I think Bowser would treat him like he does his underlings most of the time, but it also often more towards how he acts with the Mario Bros whenever the three are teaming up, but nicer. Never downright adoring like Bowser is with his kid, more like "hey you weren’t doing half bad there Green Guy!“. Perhaps in certain situations even so far as to go along the lines of "of course the Great King of Koopas has a capable bro too (not as great as him tho but you can’t beat perfection)“. Those vibes.

Also since Mr L’s shown to be a mechanic building mechs for himself, I think Bowser‘d want him to build stuff for him too. Bowser does the designs (which are very him-centric) while Auigi does the building and puts Luigi-ness into the design. Maybe they argue on how it should look. In any case it’d be very extra >v< maybe even more so than Bowser‘s stuff looks normally, because they try one-upping each other’s designs.

They’d also definitely trade insults as banter all the time lol

Meanwhile Mario would be pretty curious about the one random human who’s apparently brothers with a giant turtle somehow?? …Neither mAUrio or AUigi would have enough brain cells to recognize the other looks like them tho. Absolutely that they look familiar, but not that they are, too. Auigi would downright be offended of anyone suggesting he had anything in common with this dude living in the woods with Yoshis. They’d probably be annoyed at each other but after the whole "Kamek is not his dad“ thing I think Aurio‘d still comfort him. Like, it’s the end of another boss battle where Auigi got defeated and he starts venting about all of this and Aurio‘s going "there there“ patting him on the shoulder or smth. Auigi ends up hyping himself up again and goes "yea maybe you’re pretty decent after all“,declares him worthy of being his rival, and dips to come back to help in the final battle. However he’d stop Mario from landing the final hit on Bowser because while they might be brothers, Bowser is still his bro.

Maybe he leaves of his own accord, maybe Bowser banishes him from Koopa Castle for going against him, but in any case, AUigi doesn’t stay there and goes off to chill either at Toadstool castle or with Aurio. He’d be a very annoying roommate in both cases lol

…after Auigi leaves Koopa Castle I think Bowser would start to miss him but be super defensive about it if pointed out, and the sequel becomes Bowser kidnapping Auigi as "revenge for betraying him" :)

Notes: It is time! The post you've all be waiting for! The first chapter of many~ idk why it took me so long to write, hopefully the other's wont take me as long? But I make no promises lol. I hope you all enjoy nonetheless! I'm SUPER excited for the next chapter, cuz ITS ABOUT TO GO DOWN- hehe. (◕ᗜ◕) Also- this isn't EXACTLY like Pride & Prejudice. I've changed quite a few things to make more sense for the story. You don't need to read/watch it before reading if you don't want to. The damp mud squelched from under her boots due to the recent downpour. A smile graced her delicate features. Squinting from the sun that managed to peak through the clouds. Y/n closed the book in her hand. Reaching up to tuck a few strands of hair that managed to escape her bun out of her face. She walked up the steps that led to her home, heals clicking against the heavy stone. Upon entering, her smile fell as she noticed her two youngest sisters eavesdropping by the door of their father's study.

"What have I told you about listening at the door?" She hissed, grabbing the back of Lydia's ponytail and giving it a sharp tug.

Lydia gasped, turning around to shoot a quick glare in Y/n's direction. She gave her a swat to the arm, which Y/n responded to by chuckling. "Never mind that! There's a Mr. Hamato who arrived from the north. Five thousand a year." She giggled, looking towards her other sister, Catherine, who mimicked the bubbly sounds escaping her mouth.

"He's single." They squealed.

Y/n shook her head in mild amusement and took a step forwards, trying to peek at the crack in the door. Jane, the oldest out of all the them who had just been passing by stopped to see what all the fuss was about. "Who's single?" She asked, leaning towards Y/n quizzically.

"A Mr. Hamato apparently." Y/n huffed, wincing as she was shushed by her younger sisters who had been much louder than she was. The four of them leaned in close as they tried to hear what their parents were saying on the other side of the door.

"You know he must marry one of them!" Their mother cried. And the girls giggled in delight. Y/n and Jane shot each other amused glances. Lips twisting up in playful smirks.

Without much warning, the door was suddenly opened and the females gasped in surprise. Giggling not long after at being caught. Their father stood in the doorway, an unimpressed look on his face. "Good heavens.. People." He murmured, slipping past them and into the other room. Mrs. L/n chased after him, calling out his name and making demands. The girl's, who were much more curious than before, followed after their mother quickly. Scurrying like a bunch of mice. Making sure to lift the hem's of their dresses so they wouldn't trip.

"Are you even listening?" Mrs. L/n asked, face red from trying to convince her husband that he (they) must meet this man at once. "You must, Papa!" Kitty (Catherine) cried from behind her. Y/n was just about done with this conversation altogether. But she was curious now too and wanted to know what was going on.

"There's no need," Mr. L/n said, turning around to face them all. "I already have."

"You have?"

"When?"

"Oh Mr. L/n, how can you tease me so? Have you no compassion for my poor nerves?"

Y/n glanced at her mother in disbelief after plopping herself down on the sofa. Holding back her want to snort. It seemed as though the only thing her mother thought about was marrying them off to the first dolt that came forward. It was ridiculous, in her opinion. There were far more important things than marriage. And she didn't want to marry just anyone.

"You mistake me, my dear." Her father grunted as he lowered his old and tired body down into a chair. "I have the highest respect for them. They've been my constant companions these twenty years." He grinned at her teasingly, and Y/n swore her mother's face got even more red. The sight made her grin as well.

Mrs. L/n seemed to get over it quick enough. Immediately asking if he was amiable to which Kitty followed up by asking if he was handsome. Y/n did snort at that. Ignoring the annoyed glance her mother shot in her direction. Mary, the last of the L/n sister's stood in the doorway, completely and utterly confused. "Who?" She asked, lips pursed in a cute pout.

"He's sure to be handsome." Lydia giggled, lifting her skirt and prancing around the room with a smile nearly as wide as her face.

"With five thousand a year, it would not matter if he had warts and a leer." Y/n jested, bringing her knees to her chest to allow Lydia more room as she twirled on by.

"Who's got warts?" Mary asked incredulously, tired of being ignored.

Lydia finished her prancing and dropped down on the floor in front of her father. "So will he come to the ball tomorrow Papa?"

He smiled, "I believe so."

"You're pulling my hair!" Lydia cried, desperate to get away from her older sister. 

"I am not! Besides, if you weren't wiggling around so much, than I wouldn't be." Y/n said as she grabbed her sisters shoulders and forced her to sit forwards. Stopping her from moving so much.

"That does not make sense." Lydia whined, crossing her arms over her chest with a pout. 

Y/n held back the urge to roll her eyes. "You will wrinkle your dress if you continue this way. Just sit still." 

"Who do you want to dance with, Mary?" Kitty asked, looking at herself in the mirror. She twirled around in her lovely dress, a giddy smile on her youthful face. 

"You know I never dance." Said female muttered. She had always hated balls. Any sort of large gathering, really. "Must I wear this?" She pulled on the itchy fabric of her dress, and Jane swatted her hands away. 

"Yes, you must." The blonde insisted, fixing a loose curl in Mary's hair. "Everyone will wear what Mama set out for us." 

"Lest she annoy us all night with her complaints." Y/n grumbled, earning a small chortle from Jane. Her lips quirked up at the sound.

"I wish I had a new pair of shoes." Lydia kicked out her feet to draw attention to them. "These are practically laughable." 

"Your old ones are perfectly fine. Quit complaining." Y/n finished with her sister's hair and waved her away. Lydia got up cheerfully and waltzed around the room, hooking arms with Catherine. The two danced around together cheerfully. 

"Do you think Mr. Hamato will marry one of us?" Asked Kitty, watching her skirt swoosh around her with a smile. Lydia did the same. "I certainly hope so. How divine would that be?" 

"Not at all if you miss him entirely because you could not stop starring at yourselves. Have a little humility." Y/n grabbed Jane's hand and they left the room, the younger ones following eagerly. Whispering to one another the entire way. 

She might not have said it out loud, but Y/n too was interested to know more about this Mr. Hamato fellow. She had always said she would marry for love. Though she had yet to find it. Unlike her naïve sister's, Y/n wasn't going to throw herself to the first halfwit that gave her attention. If it was not true love than she did not want it at all. And if that meant that she end up alone, then so be it. 

Perhaps she was the one who was naïve. 

It didn't matter, the only man she needed in her life were the one's in her books. She was perfectly content with them for the moment. Though, she would be lying if she said sometimes she wasn't lonely. Or that sometimes she longed for the companionship of a love interest. Someone who would love her for all her faults and flaws. If Y/n said that she didn't want to marry at all, that would be a terrible lie. And her father raised a daughter with a guilty conscience, not a liar. 

As they rode in the carriage to the ball, Y/n couldn't help but let her mind wander. Her fingers fiddled with the fabric of her green dress. Whatever her sisters and mother were talking about became simple background noise. Instead she focused on the singing of birds, the whispering wood, and the rushing of the stream they passed. She listened to the horses hooves hitting the road, and the soft tune their driver whistled. She gazed at the passing of people and trees, the wonderful blueness of the sky, and the farmer's livestock who grazed in their fields. She focused on the sweet musk of her mother's perfume, and the scent of tabasco from her father's pipe. Sometimes she did wish she had met the love of her life and run away with him. But it was simple moments like these that reminded her just how much she loved her family. And how much she would miss them if she left. 

Before she had realized it, they had arrived at their destination. Y/n left the carriage, smiling in thanks towards her father who had offered her his hand. As she waited for her family to join her side, her eyes roamed the merry gathering. A great many people had showed up, and she couldn't help but smile at the general splendor. "I wonder if Mr. Hamato has come already, or if he shall show up later." 

Y/n looked towards Jane as she spoke, her own beautiful eyes zipping from one person to the next. "I suppose we shall have to go in and see." She said, linking her arm with hers. Jane's lips upturned in a joyful grin and the two didn't hesitate to follow their parents into the grand manor. 

Butterflies invaded her stomach from all the excitement. Y/n may have wanted to find love. But she also wanted that for her sister's. She certainly wasn't the most sought after. She was a tangled mess of contradictory things. If it meant that her sisters find happiness, than she would gladly step aside and wait a little while longer for romance. 

Some called her foolish for waiting on love. Marriage was a great economic proposition. Especially in her case, having no dowry. She was wasting her life away, believing in such fairytales. It was absolute nonsense. Y/n found it amusing how many people told her so.

"There's too much risk in loving." They would say. 

And in response, Y/n would smile and declare, "No. There's too much risk in not."
