Mod, you live in London. Right? Because pr harries are still arguing that Taylor was papped in Camden and not where harey lives .
One of them said the trash can says Camden but Hampstead is in Camden (the borough) so plaques will have the borough’s name 🤗 yet, Camden is a huge borough and Hampstead is big too so she could be literally opposite of his house or more central but still in Camden ! And then....Saying this bc I don’t think a lot of people know about London’s boroughs and that Hampstead is in Camden borough
I already explained this yesterday. Camden is a huge borough which runs as far south as Covent Garden. All the waste disposal and recycling is managed by the borough, not the specific area, so the skips and bins all over the entire borough say Camden on them.
You can see from this map that Hampstead is small compared to the overall size of Camden borough. I guarantee that Taylor has not taken little Root into crowded Camden Town for a walk. She's in Hampstead.

Falling birth rates and maternity units under threat in North Central London NHS area

"After the incident went viral, Camden Council initially posted on X, formerly Twitter, that it “had no role in enforcing this eviction”. The council deleted the post, stating instead it had ordered an “urgent investigation” into what happened, which later found that there was “operational involvement” from Camden."
Camden Council's original statement was misleading, and they knew it. The destruction of tents and other possessions is a key part of the enforcement activity: to punish the homeless.

Behind the Scenes of The Star Beast - Part Twelve
Excerpt from Benjamin Cook's interview with Catherine Tate (and David Tennant because you can't have one without the other) in DWM #597
In fact, next week’s filming will see the Doctor Who team decamp from Cardiff to Camden Town. “Camden?” says Catherine. “Oh, I grew up around there. Central London, yeah.” She was born and raised in Russell Square, Bloomsbury, in the London Borough of Camden – with the glittering West End on her doorstep. “Mm. Stardom beckoned!” “You were practically born on the stage,” jokes David. As a child, Catherine enrolled at the renowned Sylvia Young Theatre School, famed for fostering the talents of stage and screen sensations. But she left after just one week. “Even at that age I realised I wasn’t Bonnie Langford,” she said, in an interview with The Independent in 2004. “It was very competitive.” She applied to the Central School of Speech and Drama instead, getting in on her fourth attempt. And now here she is battling extraterrestrials – and Donna’s destiny – on a sound stage in Cardiff. “Never mind Shakespeare, this is what made drama school worthwhile,” she says – and I think she means it. “Look at me chasing a space rat around a kitchen!” This is the Meep, a gentle, furry alien who fell from the stars and found its way into Donna’s backyard just in time for Special 1, The Star Beast. “What a star! Have you seen it? It’ll be upstaging all of us,” Catherine says of the Meep. “Isn’t it – awww.” It’s adorable, right? “In real life? Yes. Donna calls it a space rat, but I really love it. I just find it so… soulful.” “It’s beautiful,” agrees David. “And then it starts talking to you, and you can’t quite believe it. I must show you the original drawings,” he tells Catherine, referring to DWM’s Doctor Who and the Star Beast, the 1980 comic strip on which this TV version is based. “I read the comic when I was a kid –” “Of course you did.” “– so I remember the Meep from when I was eight. Our one’s so like it.” But working with the Meep pales in comparison to being reunited with each other. “It is wonderful to be with David again,” Catherine says. “He’s fantastic. He’s magnificent. Oh, he’s looking me in the eye now. He’s eyeballing me.” A raucous chuckle.

Hello Thea, what’s some stuff you like to do in London? I’m here for Macbeth and I have some stuff I want to see, but I was wondering what all you like to do when you’re here
Hi! These are my favorite London activities:
-going to the free gallery at Somerset House and then walking to Camden Market afterwards to grab a drink and snack on the lower level where there’s usually live music in the afternoons
-going on a long walk through St. James’s park and across one of the bridges and then walking all the way to borough market for a treat at the end of the long walk
-Dishoom
-going browsing/walking/shopping in Camden
-I liked the London Eye and I think it’s the one touristy thing that’s kind of worth doing once. The tickets were expensive if I remember correctly.
-walking along the south bank from the national theatre to the London Eye/Waterloo Pier and then going on the Uber boat for a few stops
-the Tate

Bakery Love Story Headcanons w/ Papa Solomons
And a wee bit of a CoD crossover
TH Masterlist
He knows you hate closing shifts, but asks you to work them regardless if he’s on them too.
Truth be told, you don’t mind when it’s just you two because you get on surprisingly well in spite of your differences.
Alfie keeps you out of the bakery’s kitchen as much as possible. Partially because he doesn’t want you around the ovens lest you burn yourself. It’s fine for bread to burn, but your skin?
ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOT!
So you stay out front or only venture there to help Alfie carry bread or pastries or prepare sandwiches. Otherwise, you’re in the front as a barista.
He only trusts Ollie with your company.
Takes you with him when he goes ingredient shopping. He’ll pick you up at the crack of dawn to go to Borough Market with him.
However, those morning ventures aren’t solely about food. Various recent reviews have mentioned the wee bouquets dotted around the place, which has helped increase business. So he also needs your help with choosing this week’s flowers.
Although, it’s better to say they’re your responsibility since you’re the one who offered the golden idea. The price tag doesn’t matter, he’ll pay since your word is gospel to him.
He makes you breakfast when you have to open as well. It’s rare for you to work so early in the morning, but if you do it’s with Alfie. He doesn’t mind having to leave the house a little earlier to pick you up. After all, even at dawn and especially during the first hours of a winter morning, London isn’t safe.
What boss lets his female employee take such risk?
That’s the angle Alfie forces himself to take. Yet, despite the effort and struggle he hides because of it, it’s not a perspective he can maintain. Henceforth, he often finds himself following the train of thought he can’t shake off.
What king puts his queen in danger? What absolutely fucking sodden bastard leaves his girl to her own devices amongst predators and shadows?
NOT the King of Camden.
He likes how you hum or quietly sing along to Ed Sheeran’s songs. Alfie absolutely still doesn’t like the style nor genre, but he does if it’s you providing the vocals. In fact, he likes it so much he occasionally catches himself blatantly staring at you, utterly mesmerized by your presence.
Regardless of whether you’ve had your allotted breaks, as soon as he notices a dip in your energy, he’ll kindly coerce you to take one. Alfie especially likes the ones when it’s you two leaning against the counter, observing the customers while having a cuppa.
And the customers like to keep an eye on you two as well. The latest hot gossip is all about “the bird and the King” and how “there’ll perhaps be a gentler reign of the borough”.
Maybe there will be. Alfie tries to reign himself in when he’s around you, finds serenity in the feeling of your hand on his shoulder to signal to pipe down or let you take over lest things get out of control.
Lately he’s been into hugs. Like, he’ll pick you up and the first thing your groggy head has to deal with is a bear hug and sometimes being lifted into the air.
He can’t stop replaying the moment you compared hands. Can’t stop thinking about the confirmation of the size difference between you, yours much smaller than his. Ever since, Alfie sometimes allows to indulge himself by holding hands.
Out of sight of the other men, of course! Can’t have them tattering on like elderly ladies during afternoon high tea.
But his dreaming always gets rudely interrupted when a particular customer comes in. It doesn’t take long for Alfie to figure out who the stranger is because he needs “to know who comes in and out of me bloody kingdom” and the King has plenty of ears in the streets. So it doesn’t take long for him to acquire a name and the man’s background.
John Price, a captain in the British Army who went through enough to drive any man insane. Saw Hell itself.
Damaged beyond repair like him.
Yet a good man who’s trying to court his secret favourite dove.
A good man who can offer her more than an old gang boss can.
Nonetheless, there’s the toxic burn of jealousy mixed with seething rage whenever he sees you two talk. Sees how well you get along.
Alfie has to force himself to walk away, to rampage in the background among the men when he sees how Price makes you smile and blush. Fortunately, there’s soundproofing in the building. Otherwise, the customers and you would find out his anger is even more white hot than the ovens.
And he reaches the boiling point more often from the day the captain’s cologne becomes more noticeable on you. It’s an unfair trigger to pull on an honourable man. Or so he keeps grumbling and effin and blindin about despite knowing better.
Despite knowing he’s simply too late.
He hates how you’re inconsolable when John’s sent out on a mission. Doesn’t matter how long or short it is.
Now, the King of Camden is a master when it comes to the art of masks so the front you try to put up is nothing but a crumbling act to him. Dips in energy, distant gazes, little eating, they’re all tell-tale signs you miss your captain. Nonetheless, being an opportunist, Alfie uses the circumstances to his advantage by cooking and cleaning for you. Sometimes he even stays the night, but only when you ask him to. To others it may sound odd, asking your boss to stay with you, but to you it doesn’t because Alfie isn’t simply your boss.
He’s a very dear friend.
(And your protector, your “guardian fucking golem”)
Alfie doesn’t ask about your dates, but will occasionally indulge you when he notices you’re afraid to talk about them even though you really want to.
“‘Ow was your date?” he asks on such a morning while cleaning up the dishes of your impromptu breakfast. That small moment during which you shared the food he prepared. Those few minutes in which it was just you two. Together.
“It was really nice. We got coffee and walked around Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park for a bit.” As per usual, you don’t dare meet his gaze because you fear your happiness and excitement will wear him down. It’s part of the reason you avoid using John’s name. After all, the badly concealed frown hasn’t gone unnoticed.
“I ‘ope ‘e’s the one who paid.”
“He did.”
“‘E treating you well?”
“Yeah, he does.”
“Good. That’s good.”
“Alfie, alright?”
“Yeah, just… just in me own noggin. You know me. I’m glad you ‘ad a good time. Otherwise I’d ban ‘im from the bakery. The whole fucking borough. ‘E’d be-“
“Thank you.”
Alfie’s surprised you cut him off. Had it been anyone else, they’d likely be face flat on the ground and a wiser person for it, but if it’s you he doesn’t mind. In fact, when the conversation turns towards your love life and John, he’s glad you shut him up. After all, what do you care for his feelings? They’re unreciprocated anyways. “For what?”
“For letting me talk about him. I… I got the impression you didn’t want me to.”
“You let me talk about whatever, so why wouldn’t I return the favour? But enough chit chat. Come on, we got work to do.”
If only to forget about the plot he might have for a new Edna Specter novel.
The Tragedy of Alfie Solomons.
The Baker with a broken heart.
Bonus:
Oh gods, imagine Alfie and Price having a stare-off when Alfie picks you up at your place and John stayed the night. To make matters worse, the captain knows about the King’s feelings for you.🙀
P.S: I’m sorry, but I have to include more Barry Sloane because this man has me in an ABSOLUTE CHOKEHOLD🥵😻

hang on. there is actually a station in london called pancreas?? is it on the red line too this is very important information
i'm not a Londoner, nor from the UK, I don't know if it's on the red line. 😭😭 The only thing I know is that it's the terminus for the Eurostar, coming from Paris. @emmalovesfitzloved could help you with this one.
this is what I found on wiki.
"St Pancras railway station (/ˈpæŋkrəs/), officially known since 2007 as London St Pancras International, is a central London railway terminus on Euston Road in the London Borough of Camden. It is the terminus for Eurostar services from Belgium, France and the Netherlands to London. It provides East Midlands Railway services to Leicester, Corby, Derby, Sheffield and Nottingham on the Midland Main Line, Southeastern high-speed trains to Kent via Ebbsfleet International and Ashford International, and Thameslink cross-London service to Bedford, Cambridge, Peterborough, Brighton, Horsham and Gatwick Airport. It stands between the British Library, the Regent's Canal and London King's Cross railway station, with which it shares a London Underground station, King's Cross St Pancras."

The Christmas book tree at St. Pancras Station, London.
It features a staircase which winds up 270 shelves, stocked with over 3,800 hand-painted books.
The little booths at the bottom have speakers that read you a story while you wait for your train. 📖🌲🚂

St Pancras Railway Station, also known as London St Pancras or St Pancras International, and officially as London St Pancras International since 2007, is a central London railway terminus on Euston Road in the London Borough of Camden.
St Pancras Station opened in 1868 and is one of the wonders of Victorian engineering.
Along with the former Midland Grand Hotel, it is a masterpiece of Victorian Gothic architecture and one of the most elegant stations in the world.
It was built by the Midland Railway Company (MRC) to connect London with some of England’s major cities and was intended to make a grand statement about the Company with a display of physical magnificence.

CAMDEN'S ANNUAL ITALIAN STREET FESTIVAL:
Location: The Borough of Camden. Hosts: The British-Italian community of London. Date: 19th of July - 21st of July. Dress Code: None.
EVENT SUMMARY:
It's once again time for Camden's annual celebration of Italian pride! Whether you hail from the homeland or not, all are welcome to come and enjoy a weekend celebrating one of Europe's richest and most beautiful cultures. There will be distinct representation from Sicilia, Lazio, Calabria, Abruzzo, Veneto, and of course, thanks to London's thriving Neapolitan community, Campania, all showing off the best their region has to offer. The well loved and long established festival brings together people from all over the city to enjoy good food, even better company, and endless entertainment. The canals will be lined with tables for people to dine at; catered to by the authentic street vendors and fresh food stalls boasting the best Italian cuisine outside of the country itself. The market will be transformed to offer art, clothing, wine, and much more, created either by the community itself, or imported directly from Italy. When evening starts to fall, though? Grab your sambuca shots, wait for the music to fill the air, and watch as the real party begins. Primrose Hill will play host to a mini music festival all of its own on all three days, with a spotlight on both upcoming and established British-Italian musicians throughout the day and well into the night. Rumours say there might even be some guest appearances from Italian artists, too. And yes, there will be pop up bars and grab-and-go Neapolitan pizza ready for you. We're not forgetting this is still London and you're all messy af...
MAIN POINTS OF INTEREST:
Cheese & Wine Tasting (Friday afternoon) - What better way to get things started than sampling Italy's two most beloved exports? Offering a spectacular selection of Sicilian wines (thanks @ Mount Etna for your service), a laid-back wine tasting event will take place for anyone (old enough, you little shits) to enjoy. You'll also get to vote which region has the best cheese. Fight to the death, tbh.
Dinner & Dance (Friday night) - Once you're all sufficiently drunk on Sicily's offerings, the traditional live bands will start to play canal-side. Laze beside the water with your dinner, enjoy the warm weather, and be transported to the streets of Italy as you eat your bodyweight in pasta.
Pizza Making (Saturday afternoon) - If you're not too hungover from necking sambuca shots at the festival in the park, or from finishing that bottle of wine you probably shouldn't have, try your hand at making authentic Neapolitan pizza with some of the best chef's Camden's Italian scene has to offer. What do you win? Pride, bitch. That's all you need. You're Italian.
A Taste of the Opera (Saturday evening) - Fancy a spectacular rendition of Rigoletto? Probably not, you cultureless heathens, but the offer is there... Enjoy Verdi's masterpiece in the local community theatre, courtesy of the local youth operatic society. Support the local arts, bro.
Mini Venetian-Style Carnival (Sunday afternoon) - Yes, of course it's after Mass, don't worry... Head back down to the canal once more to watch London's best attempt at capturing the beauty and artistry of the Venetian Carnival. You'll also have a chance to make your own Venetian-style masks with the help of local artists. The creepier looking the better, apparently.
Drunk Shenanigans (All nights) - Because there's alcohol available from the vendors, and you've got an excuse to party in the streets? Go wild, bro.

London anon here! Here’s my list of things to do, hope this is useful for yall :)
classic things to see/do if you’ve never been to London:
London eye (personally I don’t think it’s worth actually going up but up to)
Big Ben and houses of parliament ( I find the best pics on to stand on the bridge closest to Big Ben in the evening/night)
Buckingham palace (they have a changing of the guard at specific times which I don’t remember that’s fun to watch)
London Bridge and tower bridge
Tower of London (my personal fav)
Trafalgar Square (just a classic square tbh) and Piccadilly Circus (big billboards and the big shopping streets nearby)
Covent garden (shopping and aesthetic)
Good food markets: Camden, Spitalfields, borough, portobello
Most of our museums are free and fun if you have time as well!
Tall building viewpoints
Obvs there’s the shard, but there’s also sky garden (do have to book and pay for tho), there’s also a free alternative called garden at 120.
hope this helps!! Happy to answer more qs, the tube/ busesis fairly easy and intuitive (can use citymapper) and might be worth getting a week pass, or Apple Pay works too
Thanks London anon!

Hi, as a resident of London (who works at Scotland Yard) I would suggest...
You can't possibly do all of that long list in a few days! If i were you, I'd prioritise and get your faves done first...
Parks = St James Park and Hyde Park are more central and much prettier than the others, which are further out and can get a bit rough after dark
Mme Tussards is always a bit of a let down, say tourists
Camden Town - go in daylight, it can be rough walking to and from the local transport at night
Use the tube rather than buses, (the tube is safe and reliable), and if you must bus - use the bottom deck, not the top.
The weather is v changeable (13-23°c this week), take layers! And a light raincoat/umbrella, of course.
You can go to the British Museum just for food, but it's overpriced mediocre food.
If you want to tick off a lot on your list in one go, my fave walk in London is down the South Bank... get off at London Bridge tube, go through Borough Market (thurs-sun it is the oldest, biggest and best food market in the country, its wonderful!) and its a Sherlock set, see Southwark Cathedral (DW Lazarus set) the Golden Hinde ship, down Clink St to the river, then walk down the riverside and see St Pauls, The Globe, Tate Modern, National Theatre, The Sherlock skatepark, Houses of Parliament, the BFI, the outdoor book market, London Eye, and then its across the Bridge to Scotland Yard. All in just over an hour! 🙂
London is a safe city, so long as you aren't out alone at midnight, and you dont wander about with google maps up on your phone, looking lost (then you'll be a target for muggers) but otherwise its absolutely fine.
Have a lovely time!
Hi! This is very helpful!!!✨
I know, the list is waaay too ambitious, since I'm staying for less than four days xD I really just wrote down all the places I could find from series, so that if I happen to find myself there I would be aware. Most places I guess I will just photograph from the street and not actually go inside and visit.
Thank you for all the tips, especially the ones about the South Bank walk! Thank you so so much, Scotland Yard anon!💖
