I've been in the dsaf fandom for a year or two by now lol. but like I've only been lurking and...some fans take dsaf TOO seriously. Like, no hate. none at all. but,, I wish people acknowledged more often that Dayshift at freddy's at it's core, is silly. like, all three games are full of jokes (some less than others) and that's the original premise. Yeah, there's the serious lore bits and all.. but what about the SILLY bits? Can we have the silly bits appreciated? Jack can piss for 15 minutes straight, Dave ate an entire ashtray of lit cigarette butts and lost his sense of taste after, ALL the phone guys were programmed to say "darn" and "heckin'!" as a substitute for swearing, and Dee is a tickler (not ticklish, a TICKLER she tickled Dave til his springlocks went off in the premature ending, and she can tickle Jack when in the suit to set it off if you don't wind the box). Henry is the reason why they have cameras in the fazbender's bathrooms.

I love seeing the serious bits too, but I wish people spent as much time with the silly bits as the serious ones. Even when it comes to making your own silly bits!!! Like, yess!!!! Go write that Undertale!DSAF AU. Go write about Dave and Jack as kitchen appliances. Go write about what you headcannon Dee's favorite songs and movies are. Go write about Jack having magical princess half wolf demon powers. EVEN WITH THE PAINTINGS!!! I saw a drawing of Dave and Jack in sailor moon get up and they killed it. absolutely. I know the dsaf artists out here are killing it with their art, it's all amazing and I have lovingly gazed at all of them before. and yes!!!!! Go RP as Peter Kennedy having a deep carnal desire for bird watching, go RP as Harry Fitzergald enjoying himself at an aquarium, go RP as Dave Miller spending hours trying to figure out how air fryers work so he can give it a shot at building one at home.

Please do anything your heart desires!!!!! You can look out the car window with your headphones in and listen to music while imagining sad sfms of the characters and keep it to yourself. But if you wish to share, just now that there's people out there that have been wishing someone would create what they've been imagining too!!! Make your funky spotify character playlists!! Even your youtube music ones!! Because there will be someone out there who thinks the same as you and enjoys them the same as you !!

I live for the serious ones too. Please, go write that heartfelt fic about Dave yearning for his soulless friend's presence in the afterlife. Please, go write about Jack despairing that he doesn't just stop existing after death, and is stuck in a void. Please, go write about Dee speaking to the gang in afterlife about how she wishes she had a longer childhood, and how she is sad that the very few things that made her childhood a childhood is gone and that she can never truly have it back( jack, and all the friends and lovely gifts and animals and all the joy). Please, go write about DaveTrap surviving the fire in the good ending and being miserable because no matter how much he was angry and hateful, he missed Jack, he missed having a quarrel with him, he missed asking just one more time, if Jack wanted to kill kiddins' with him, and then him having to visit Jack's grave and despairing that Jack had never lied when he told him his name. And then DaveTrap sees the other graves, all the other ones, of the kids that died at fazbender's because of fazbender's. And he also sees a grave bearing his own name. His real name. And it was right next to four other graves, of people who's names rang bells in his ears, of people with a last name he recognized, of people he remembered betting on whether or not they'll die with Henry.

AHHH I think this might be too long. i just love ranting about my ideas because as much as i have a love for writing, i can never execute the ideas. they are cursed to forever be just an idea i can share to my friends who don't like dsaf but like hearing my rambles.

Lapidot's Musical taste

Hii everyone, I've been spending the last few weeks working around some new ideas for my fanfiction and I've got a question for y'all, I wanted to know what kind of music do you all think Lapis and Peridot listen to? I'd be glad if you all could help me out (I have no real music knowledge, so I'm sorry if I say something stupidly wrong or cringeworth).

Well, just so you all know, It's been a whole week now since I started thinking about this and I still can't really wrap my mind on this matter. I was thinking about something Funky or Techno (Like Daft Punk, maybe) for Peri, 'cause you know, all the technology she uses, or like Country, due to the fact that she used to live in the barn. (It's also worth to mention that she was listening to something on that vibe when Lapis left, so...).

But when it comes to Lazuli, I can't really see her interested on any specific kind of music, I thought maybe Blues or some kind of Jazz, but that felt a bit out of character for her. (I mean, she's sad ofc, but Blues is more like the "Smoking on the apartment's window after a hard breakup" kind of music, so not really her type. And Jazz is more of those pesky, smooth talkers that get everyone to do their way, and she isn't particularly smooth either yk ;P). I also tried to work around the idea of her listening to some corny, romantic music, ironically at least, due to the fact that they both used to enjoy Camp Pining Hearts together, but... I also don't really see it.

Things that happen when you try to write about taste when you have none, lol. So... Yeah, if you all could leave here some of your thoughts I'll be glad to listen to you all.

Which one is your favorite, Trigun or Trigun Stampede?

Oh.

Good question.

I like the first half of Trigun. Right until after Eriks arc? I love the characterizations, I love the humour, I love how funky and groovy the thing is. But. Uh. Right after Eriks, the second half... the animation goes... Places. You can pinpoint into which shots the budget for whole episode went and during the last four episodes I was yelling for the martyrdom to just. Stop. Especially after WW's infamous... Let's call it "Exit".

Stampede on the other hand-- I love how well it works all together, I love the new designs (except for WW, tug your shirt, man, seriously), I love the colour schemes, music, how much attention is paid to the details, all the homages, how well it works with the manga. But. (There's always a but with me lol) It's too fast for me. There's little to no time for the character moments. My favourite moment in the show is when WW is teasing Meryl around the campfire and Vash shows up, sits down, and finally. EATS. And I would love to see more of such moments.

My fave episodes are deffo 5-7. Child of Blessing still gives me shivers. The ending. With the windmills. HECK YEAH. And... Steamer... well. WELL.

I loved the Stampede's climax? I was nearly hysterical waiting for the last episode. But we all yelled here (my best friend from Canada was here with us in person when we watched it for the first time, and I wll never forget us being full ass football fans screaming at the tv, when Vash showed up with the new/og hair).

I'm not too fond of the MMO design of his wings, I'm too much of a conservative and gimme those feathers. But I understand the struggle of animating. Actual. Wings.

So. Yeah. It's hard to say.

Trigun OG and Trimax is what I see when somebody says Trigun.

Stampede is what I see when somebody asks me about a real good tv show.

And boy, what I probably enjoy the most is Badlands Rumble (tv-wise, Trimax is my fave otherwise). It combines all of the things I like about both shows (and manga). Good visuals, OG like humour, Onosaka Masaya Vash, an okay story (for my taste), HECK YEAH MOST TRIMAX WOOWOO and. Well. Yeah. WW's whole. Thing. With the glasses. I'm easy to please.

However, believe me you, when I say I spend a lot of time each week speculating what's gonna happen in season 2 of Tristamp. I can't wait.

☆ Funky little intro post ☆

Hoi! Since more people have been interacting with my blog and fics lately so I decided it's time to do an little intro post. Introductions are always something I put off bc I'm bad at them (as you can probably tell) so we're just going to roll with it. ☆ My name is Rose (internet alias ig), or Yiv (shortened version of my irl name) doesn't really matter which one you use either work. You can also refer to me as my user if you wish to. I go by he/him pronouns! I am a 19-year-old student from the Netherlands. I also have autism, which is just something I like to tell people to be upfront lol.

I am currently extremely fixated on Just Dance (like brainrot level) so thats the thing I really only post about, it's my hyperfixation and I get to post on tumblr about it, but I do have other intrests. Here are some of the other things I like: I'm an artist and (now also) a writer. I'm intrested in things like folklore and fairytales but am also really into history. I play D&D and I really like cartoons and ghibli movies. I love ghibli movies. I also really like musicals and have a pretty varied music taste. I'd say my current favourite artists are: Hozier, Sophie Powers, and Palaye Royale!

If you happen to like Just Dance and fanfics: I am currently writing two of my own on AO3. They're called 'Treasures of The Swan' and 'Maybe Loving You is Dangerous' respectively and I really appriciate alll the love they've gotten so far. it really means a lot.

What is your character's favorite physical trait they possess?

Quinn likes his eyes; he's been complimented on them enough to feel like they must be good. Vincent likes his hair a lot! He's had a few funky styles through the years, so he enjoys getting to experiment with it. He also has very lovely hands--nice and thin, quite long; he keeps the nails clean and neat~

3. Is there something about your character's appearance that they would change if possible?

Quinn would have said his ears (🥺) but he's gotten over that particular insecurity and doesn't really mind them anymore. I guess he'd say his teeth? They're a little crooked and fit oddly in his mouth, which he's sort of self-conscious about.

Vincent might've also said his teeth at some point (he used to file down the fangs to appear more human, poor thing 😔) but now he embraces it. If he had to change anything, it'd be the eyes--the red can be very intense, and he doesn't want to give the wrong impression

12. What kind of music does your character enjoy?

Quinn sticks to edgy, emo stuff, lol. 90s grunge, some early 2000s alternative, etc (I couldn't tell ya specifics, 'cause that's not really my scene~) There are a few outliers to his taste that he swears he doesn't listen to but does 🤫 The iPod never lies....

Vincent likes a mix of everything. He's pretty open to exploring new music, as each decade introduces new styles and whatnot and he gets to watch it all evolve. Most of his fondness is for soul/R&B type stuff, but he has favorites in all genres~ As for playing, he enjoys learning retro rock songs on his guitar, but will also whip out some classical stuff as well~

Tep Tons: Albums

10. The Break of Dawn (Blue In Green) Smooth all the way through, this is full of music to just kinda vibe to, similarly to what you'd find hosted by Lofi Girl. Along with much of Gramatik's early work, it's the album that helped fuel my initial interest in the hip-hop style, especially with jazz elements. Here's a taste!

9. This Time (Los Lobos) I don't often listen to rock, but it's actually what I grew up with. At the center was AC/DC, Smash Mouth, and Linkin Park. In the periphery and having at most a single album I'd listen to, were Crossfade, 3 Doors Down, Finger Eleven, and Los Lobos. This Time sticks out as being not emo edgy and full of cringe-worthy self-pity. It's got energy, variety, and good vibes all around. Here's a taste!

8. Small Plates (J3PO) Short and sweet, this is one of those sketch albums, filled with some of the many snippets thought up and created by the artist. I love the existence of albums like this, as some of the real banger ideas that never get a full produced song can see the light of day while the artist is still alive, Small Plates (and Sweet Treats) having some of my favorites by J3PO. Here's a taste!

7. Fantastic (Slum Village) I couldn't pick one of the volumes, so I'm going with all of them lol. I love the wonky Dilla-time, as anyone who's seen my music recommendations would know. I love the unfinished feel of Vol. 1 with a bunch of really bumpin' beats that unfortunately never made it past this point, and I love that they revisited and polished a bunch of them and for Vol. 2, then there's the further edited version of 2, complete with hilarious and heartfelt testimonials at the end of some of the tracks. 6. Funk Blaster EP (KOAN Sound) While there's no one album that incapsulates my dubstep phase, this one was definitely the most prominent. It's funky, wubby, and well-composed. I'll admit I am "that guy" when it comes to KOAN Sound, I liked them better during their early experimental days, until Polychrome when they made a habit of putting 2 different songs in 1 track. Honorable mention to Risky Endeavors Here's a taste!

6.5. Planet Neutral (Getter)

5. Things Fall Apart (The Roots) One of the newest additions, The Roots has become one of my favorite bands ever. Through and through, this is but one of the masterpieces created in the Soulquarians sessions at Electric Lady Studio, filled with banger after banger. Honorable mention to the Deluxe Edition, featuring some of my favorite Roots songs ever. Here's a taste!

4. Astro Lounge (Smash Mouth) Yes I know, it's the one with All Star. Like I said, Smash Mouth was one of my favorite bands growing up, and Astro Lounge just has a special place in my heart. The title I think sums it up best, feels like you're in a cozy futuristic lounge, or at least the idea of futuristic people had in the late 90's. Here's a taste!

3. Random Album Title (Deadmau5) Another one I'm nostalgic for, this is the ultimate vibe album for me. The somewhat droning and repetitive nature of it, plus the seamless mix between songs, gives it a video game soundtrack quality in that it's great for just putting on in the background while you're doing stuff. Unfortunately Spotify is being weird and there's like 3 slightly different versions of it with the same name. Here's a taste!

2. Plastic Beach (Gorillaz) Aright it's another nostalgic one, this I think is the first physical CD I ever bought. I love the metaphorically nautical/maritime theme, and as per usual with the Gorillaz, there's a great variety in musical styles. Plus there's a kickass music video for Stylo. Here's a taste!

1. Djesse (Jacob Collier) I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, Jacob Collier is the greatest musical mind of our time. This album has such a profound effect on me I can't fully describe. Whenever I sit to listen to any part of it, it feels like a hug that gives you the warm shivers, it tickles my ears, and almost always I well up. Djesse is the work of a man who thoroughly explores the depths of music and sound, travels the world to learn, combines it all in unique ways, and all the while exuding this infectious energy and curiosity. -my friend loves to play the recorder and, as we love to spaculate that Two took a lot of his traits from Susan, we headcanoned that Susan liked to play the recorder (probably learned it from her music class at the 1960s high school, if they played recorder there lol) and the Doctor, at first complaining, but enjoying the tunes, probably picking it up subconsciously until his next incarnation without his knowledge! lol

-the doctor probably likes getting food and drink with Susan, he just does! making sure she has enough. you see here the boba we both drank that day lol, the doctor takes his with tea while susan probably gets hers with a funky taste

-Susan adores human culture, even trying to act more human on times because she is free to do so! she is free to finally act like a child would, while we are not sure over if she could on galiffray at the time

On a rainy day a while back I made some very self-indulgent playlists for what music I think Abby and Hoagie would listen to (and thought way too hard about it). I could probably never do this for every member of Sector V because I don't think my music knowledge is that bespoke, but I think my taste and what I personally see the two of them liking overlap considerably, so I had fun with it. Hoagie loves a wide range of music, from good stuff to corny shit-- he is cringe but free. I think of his tastes as being categorically: -Early 2000s and late 90's R&B- Troop, D'Angelo, Boyz 2 Men, to a lesser extent Luther Vandross. Probably would also overlap a bit with Rap artists like Biggie Smalls. -Solo Crooners- Your Tom Jones, your Lionel Richies, your Barry Whites. I don't really think of him as a crooner, but I'll also toss Christopher Cross in there for fun. Hoagie would absolutely imagine a vivid music video of himself to Ride Like the Wind. As opposed to Hoagie, I think Abby's playlist is more defined by meticulous craft and impeccable vibes rather than what's most popular. She's generally more discerning about what she considers her favorites, but there's still a lot of overlap between her and Hoagie. Both of them are all over EWF and Chaka Khan -Hip-Hop/R&B Salt N Peppa and Mary J Bilge are mainstays for Cree, which she introduced Abby to when they were younger; now the two of them are at war stealing the same 5 beat-up, scratched-to-hell CDs back and forth from each other. Cree busts down the treehouse door fully kitted out demanding to know where What's the 411 is every Saturday.
